Diabetics at Jamba Juice:

Eating good food at the right time can control your blood sugar, also stop you from craving wrong sort of food. Jamba Juice offers drinks in three separate sizes: 16, 24, and 32-ounce. You can choose the lowest serving size and cut down on sugars and calorie intake. If you're diabetic and concerned about the sugar intake, then you can opt for the smaller 9.5-ounce smoothies available for kids at Jamba Juice.

Foods to Avoid at Jamba Juice for Diabetics:

Jamba Juice is primarily known for its highly satisfying and nutritive smoothies and juices. Almost every smoothie and juice item on the Jamba Juice menu contains sugar. Diabetics are recommended to opt for smaller serving size while ordering at Jamba Juice. Also, avoid opting for creamy treats as all the smoothies offered in this category contain a load of sugars.

Keep the sugar content below 50g per meal at Jamba Juice and ensure that you don't follow it with a heavy meal. A small size regular smoothie is equivalent to a meal for everyone. Classic smoothies at Jamba Juice are also heavily loaded with sugars. Stay away from that section if you are a diabetic.

Stopped in briefly to get a few sides for some curry that I already ordered elsewhere. At first the girl at the counter couldn't grasp what I was saying but after I repeated myself she put the order in. Everything was good (rice and peas, cabbage, steamed rice). Waited about 10-15 minutes but it was good. Will go again to get the other options next time I visit Florida.

Curry chicken was delicious! I recently moved here from Maryland and was recommended to try this place. Although their meals are more expensive than MD, the food was just as tasty!! && they are open 24/7!! Thats unheard of in MD so im excited to be a new loyal customer!

Fast and yummy! I got the jerk chicken. It had a little blood so I am guessing I got a thigh but just to be safe I didn't eat that small piece, but I know there is no need to worry about that. Nice people! If you go on sunday GET THE MAC AND CHEESE Best I have ever had!

Hmmmmm....this place is a little tricky when it comes to giving a rating. The only thing I truly enjoyed was the oxtail and rice and peas ( ordered on a previous visit). Their fried chicken seems to be popular, but only when fresh. The stew beef was a major let down. The curry chicken was decent. However, my main issue with this restaurant is their lack of communication skills. The front staff at the cash register is not Insync with the kitchen staff, nor the customers. Exhibit A: a customer walks in behind my boyfriend and I, he identifies himself as the customer that ordered the curry shrimp and asked if it was ready. The cashier looks at him, as if he just asked her for her first born. He then repeats the question, she then yells back to the kitchen asking if the curry shrimp order is ready. The kitchen staff yells back, "what curry shrimp?" The cashier yells back, " the customer who ordered it is here." The kitchen staff replies, " he never confirmed the order, he said he would call back in 25 minutes". This message was then relayed to the customer. The customer said, "I never told her that, she told me to come in 25 minutes." GEUSS WHAT HAPPENS NEXT????? The missing curry shrimp magically appears within less than a minute. Exhibit B: We placed an order of one fry chicken and one stew beef, two fried dumplings . The woman taking the order replies back, " I don't know if we have any more fry chicken" and just stands there looking at us with a silly grin like the joker from batman. I quickly realized that she was not going to find out whether the fry chicken was available or not, so I ordered the curry chicken instead. Exhibit C: My boyfriend who was very hungry decided to ask for the dumplings now, seeing there was a 15 minute wait for the stew beef and curry chicken. He stood in line patiently and when he eventually gets to the cashier he kindly asks her if she can give him the fried dumplings now, before the rest of the order is ready. Here is where it gets interesting...there were six ready to eat dumplings on display in the transparent oven on the counter, just before my boyfriend made his request another customer ordered four of the dumplings, which were handed to him with no problem, hence there were two dumplings left. All of this happened within a one minute span. Hence the look of horror and confusion on my boyfriends face when he was told he could not have the two dumplings in the oven on the counter, instead he would have to wait on dumplings coming from the kitchen with the rest of the order. This seems to be a popular place, just not for me, but hey you be the judge.

Lady at service counter was pretty polite (especially for a Jamaican restaurant... if you visit a lot of Jamaican restaurants, you're likely to understand what I mean). They were very generous with their large Oxtail dinner portions. The food was nice... not the best, but good.

Not a fan at all. Went by a Sunday evening and ordered a jerk pork and an oxtail to go. Jerk pork had NO jerk flavor at all nor was it spicy. Very wet and saucy. Oxtail is a bit on the salty side and too mushy. Rice for both was mushy and not flavorful and I am a carb addict. We are not ones to waste food but most of it went in the trash because it was that bad. Never again.

Overlooked the service for the great food. So many juice option on the menu when in reality they only had one option. Took them forever 20 mins exactly to bring us our drinks. I recommend you to order to go. Music was too loud while we were ordering. The waitress did not know how to explain the entrees due to its menu lack of description. Would have given it a 5-star but again it's service was bad.

Stopped in during the wee hours not expecting anything special (just hungry). To my surprise the food was excellent. Truly authentic. I had the stewed brown chicken and nothing tasted stale or warmed up (even the cabbage was very fresh). Will definitely return to try the oxtail.

I went to Jamaica House for the first time today and ordered the brown stewed chicken. I was expecting what I usually get at the Jamaican restaurants in S. Fl. Instead I was pleasantly surprised. They definitely do things a little differently here. My meal was awesome! It was perfectly seasoned, and the addition of red and green peppers in the chicken absolutely kicked it up a notch. I'm happy to say I ordered the large dinner which was more than enough for two meals. I also had the fried dumpling that was soft and fluffy on the inside and just enough crunch on the outside - a perfect complement to my meal. This is now my favorite Jamaican restaurant in Miami!

I ordered the jerk chicken large to-go plate with rice and peas, plantains, and the regular cabbage: Rice and peas (beans) ----------- A-; had a nice flavor that wasn't as rich has other restaurants that I have had; no sauce or stew to help it go down. Jerk Chicken ------------------------- A+; very good; came with a lot of chicken, not too dry, and very tasty (had the true jerk flavor). Plantains ------------------------------- B; I LOVE plantains but they disappointed me by giving me only TWO pieces (come on now). Cabbage -------------------------------- C; I don't particularly like cabbage, but it's always a freebie...so can I get a C for cabbage?!

I like the food here mainly because they don't cook with a lot of salt. My favs are their stewed pork, curried goat and oxtails. Husband says the curried conch was pretty good too. And the also do breakfast which is also good. I've never eaten there, always did take out so I can't really comment on the dine in service. Definately worth a try if you're in the area.

  • Joseph G.

Food is decently good that is the only reason this place gets 3 stars, the customer service is absolutely terrible. First time I called they said it would only take 7 mins I have them 15-20 when I got there food wasn't even ready. Second time I placed an order I had someone go pick it up they said I never placed an order. Mind you when you call over the phone they never ask for your name so it's chaos. So the person gets there and they said I never placed an order, when I called and asked what the deal was their response was oh yea that order. I've never been back it's been months that kind of customer service is just brain numbing.

Jamaica House is one of my favorites. Although you do have to be careful to look at your food before you walk out of the door. Once I bought jerk pork, and it was old and dry like jerky - not cute. Other than that one time, I have had flavorful food. The dining room service is often sloooooow, but that is almost always expected with this type of restaurant, which does a brisk takeout business. On the weekends, they sometimes have (loud) parties, but the music is good, so you might get lucky and end up rocking away the evening here. They have a full bar - and a bartender that is sometimey. The breakfast, in my opinion, is the standout, although the menu is very limited. You can find standards like porridge, mackerel and run-down, ackee & saltfish and callaloo, all of which are decent, if not slightly on the small side from a portion perspective. Don't expect beverages (unless you get it out of the chiller), so I usually bring my own big steaming mug of coffee to enjoy. They have some decently priced lunch specials, and I am partial to their oxtails as well as their escovitch fish. I would skip the steam fish from here though, as it seems they cant quite get it right - and its SUPER EXPENSIVE, so head north to Tropix and you will be more satisfied. All in all, a decent choice - and consistent, which is more than I can say for some other restaurants and take-away spots in the same area.

My two stars is only for the Brown Stew Chicken. I have been coming here for years, but I recently noticed something. I usually order Salfish and Okra or Saltfish and Fried Dumplings. Yesterday I ordered two Brown Stew Chicken meals. A large meal for me and small meal for my wife. When I got home I noticed that the Chicken parts were the lower leg and the top of the thigh. My Wife's meal was the same. Only the lower part of the leg and top of the thigh of the Chicken was put in the container. I expect sometimes to get the leg and thigh pieces but it seem that the meatier pieces of the leg and thigh were missing. Who wants to spend ten dollars for a meal and get the parts that have less meat. My Wife and I were disappointed with the meal. They always open the container to show what is in there but I never thought I would need to check out the meat pieces. Next time I will mention what happened and I will check my order more closely to see what is inside the container.

The oxtail was great with steamed vegetables. I will be back. Like many Jamaican spots if you are customer service snob take it to go its way off.
