I love everything about this hell hole. The carne asada is surpringly good, well marinated and distinctly Central American tasting lol- you know..like someone's nanny/cleaning lady made it just for you. Their homemade spicy pickled vegetables have just the right amount of kick and are probably loaded with probiotics since the containers just keep getting filled up and go unrefrigerated :) I love their cheap beers! Order a Salvavida or Port Royal for an authentic experience.. Non drinkers can enjoy juices- If you haven't tried cashew juice GET IT! It's sweet/tart and has that kooky tannin mouthfeel, very cool. They call it Marañon. The beans make anyone who doesn't enjoy beans become an overnight beaner.... I truly love ordering the beans with fresh cream and plantains ( and a side of carne asada)... Also if you like arepas try a pupusa mixta. It's like a tinier version of an arepa with less dough and filled with cheese and chicharron (cracklings) you balance all that grease with the slaw and the delicious pickled veggies. Do you know what effect these foods have on me( besides cute farts)? It makes me want to sing! If you're like me then I have splendid news for you, the karaoke here is no joke- even if you don't know Spanish songs please get up and sing. Your audience will love you! Imagine every Nica, Honduran and Guatemalan cleaning lady looking for fun on a Friday night...THEY'RE HERE! They love singing man-hating songs and the men love singing corta-vena Ricardo Arjona ballads ( they also love their designer knockoff jeans and pointy leather shoes here). Truly a mind altering experience! First time I came here with my bf we got a not so subtle boob-offering proposition by the waitress where she started pointing at a friendly left breast with her pen while taking our order. We also saw really drunk Latin men hanging out with what seemed to be their mistresses in these exaggeratedly large booths (which looked sketchy as it also made them look tinier) Fabulous! If you would like to people watch and have a surprisingly decent meal made by dare I say cooks/whatever you want them to be papi, step right up.

Great food and people! Like being in Honduras! Pescados and baleadas are excellent and great value for price.

Restaurant has plenty of space, great music, and it's good for large parties. The food was ok, but it was my fault for trying something new. The service was just ok. The server was kind of lost when asking us for the order. She did not showed any passion or pride for her work. We asked for three meals, and only two came together. We waited about 7 more minutes for the next 3rd meal to arrive. We order some more tortillas, and it came about 10 minutes later, but since they make it fresh it was ok. The overall experience was ok, but the service needs to be more alive. The only time I heard the server smile and alive was on my way out the door after she notice that her tip was over 30%. I understand how she feel, 80% of the guest that come to this restaurant do not know how to tip for service. Maybe I just made her day, and the rest of the guest will receive a more welcoming and energetic service.

I had an excellent baleada con carne here. A baleada is a Honduran dish consisting of a fresh thick tortilla (Central American style) filled with (depending on the type) chicharron, frijoles, huevos revueltos, and crema. It is something similar to a Mexican burrito in a style of a Mexican quesadilla. Or maybe more like a fajita? Whatever, but it was delicious! The price of a baleada ranges from $2.50 to $3.50. Note: The baleada con huevo (no meat) was a bit salty for my taste because of the cheese. But the one with meat was just perfect and delicious - I'm assuming that the meat balanced out the salty cheese wonderfully. Another thing to note... their batidos tasted delicious - almost like ice cream! It was so creamy that it actually would go in my book as a real milkshake! The tables have table cloth. But when I went for a late lunch or early dinner, most of the people were sitting on the bar watching Copa America. Also, there's a stage in the back so I'm sure they have live music at night. When? Call to find out because I had forgotten to ask. They also have an extensive menu of Honduran goods - most of which are around 10 to 15 dollars. NOTE: I find the lunch hours to be much more calmer and the food is brought out faster / fresher than during the packed dinner hours.

rating explanation: essentially no reference for comparison, so keep that in mind also great company makes for a great shared meal... --now that my biases are disclosed, i have to say the baleada was the best item glad JD N helped out with that! they don't speak much english here, so if you don't know what something is, there is no picture to help you i'd recommend egg and sausage or some meat baleada -- they are essentially a large flour tortilla folded in half, omelet style. nice creamy sauce too the tejada (sliced plantain) with pork was a perfect combo of sweet and salty. i liked it the fried chicken honduran style over plantain chips done well but not as adventurous a choice ordered the pupusa mixta, came with side of cabbage like slaw -- pupusa was very cheesy and kinda like an arepa, didn't really stand out we also ordered pork ribs over yuca -- delicately prepared we went for the honduran tamales (montucas) -- corn on the outside and some sweet paste with chicken i think on the inside -- wasn't a hit though, quite mushy overall, we over-ordered (plus one of everything is enough to share), but this place is inexpensive $3-5 (chicken $8), so feel free to try a little of everything btw they serve mondongo here too, conch soup and carne asada prob. would have been good choices also batidos were thick with a large amt of condensed milk, but i still like regular shakes of note, there was no green in the meal (seems like a general trend in central american cuisine), just some shredded cabbage and starchy veges...oh yeah, don't be scared by the parking lot -- it's fine inside.
