I think this place has potential but they definitely need improvement in the service department. While they good deals and the food tastes good, sometimes it just takes too long to get order taken and food on the table. I do like coming here because my son gets to play (Goin Bananas) while mommy can have a bite or drink. Fun place for parties or simple get togethers.

I thought this review was going south as soon as I walked in. We waited at the door for like 15 minutes while the servers starred at us, and as soon as we sat down the menus were beyond sticky!!! Yikes! I thought. It took about another 15 minutes for someone to come over, this is when everything started to change. Our server Jerome was the bomb! He gave us his recommendations, which I always appreciate, and gave us an overview of the menu. I was a bit concerned that a lot of the items listed, they were not offering any more, hence the menu was outdated. We ordered the Pincho appetizer, it was $5, but Jerome recommended it as it gave you a feel for how the cook all their protein. The only issue I had it was a bit cold and extremely small, I saw at this point why it was $5. For our entrées we had the Surf Side burger, which consisted of a 10oz angus beef burger, topped with sweet chili shrimps, creamy goat cheese, and frenchies, key-lime mayo on a sesame bun, served with skinny fries. I got a side of fried avocado, it was amazing! My wife ordered the Isla burger, which consisted of a 10oz angus beef burger, topped with slow roasted pork, sweet pickles, dijon wine gouda sauce and swiss cheese, served on our brioche bun. She ordered the sweet potato fries, and Jerome had her try them with the key lime mayo. Fire! As for the finale, we had crepes, we tried the Falling Sky and Mi Dulce Amor, both very good! It's definitely worth a try, but I'm not sure if I'll be a regular.

Ok, this place looks fairly new, and I give it 1 year or whenever their lease expires. The service is very slow and lacks server experience. I asked for a burger plain and they messed up my order. How hard can it be to put LESS on a burger? Apparently very difficult! Then on top of that they don't check on the table for at least 30 minutes to realize my order is WRONG! This is a family business and it's obvious because family members are flocking everywhere. When the waitress finally came to my table to ask if everything was ok I didn't even bother to say it was wrong. I will never come here again and I will NOT recommend this place to anyone wanting good service and good food. The burger patties are thin and look more like a regular fast food burger. VERY VERY POOR SERVICE!!! The owner was more concerned with her kids birthday party than with paying customers.

The new menu sucks. The service is even worse. Not the place to go. We use to go all the time when they were new but they've only gotten worse. The

I believe that Frenchie's has been open or about a year now. We live right around the corner from there and have been meaning to try it since the get go. Now, a year later, we finally did. The place is small but cute. They have a few TVs to keep the husband entertained. The only distraction as far as ambience was that during our visit you can hear the whooping and hollering from the kids play place next door. Our server was polite, but not very attentive. He was also not very knowledgeable about the menu. It didn't help that we weren't either. I asked if the baked Brie was served en croute. I actually just asked if it was baked in pastry or how it was served. He told me that I was the first person to ever ask that and went back to find out. When he returned, he told me that it was pasteurized. Huh???? Regardless, I love Brie so I took a chance. The Brie is served sliced on sliced baguettes with an apricot sauce and caramelized walnuts. Delicious! I could have had the entire plate by myself. I ordered the grilled cheese which consists of 3 cheeses on 3 slices of brioche. It was nice but it is pretty hard to mess up grilled cheese. My husband had a burger. I don't recall the name but it was supposed to have mushrooms and walnut pesto. He had one mushroom on his burger. Fortunately, the pesto gave the burger as a whole a nice taste because the meat itself was a bit bland. The rock star of the day was their skinny fries. Yummy! I had their Sangria which was tasty and well priced plus they were offering 2 for1! Sweeeet! I would suggest that you order your appetizer at least 5 minutes before you order your entrees. Everything came out at the same time for us and I noticed the same at other tables as well. All in all, it's a nice addition to the neighborhood and we will return. We like to support small business and hope to see them do well. .

So disappointed with the experience my boyfriend and I just had. We had gone when the place first opened and the menu was amazing!!! So much variety it was hard to pick what we wanted to eat. Imagine a menu like that and take a QUARTER not even half of the menu, a quarter of it, and that's their menu. I understand having to cut some stuff out of a menu due to expenses.... But "our menu just went through some changes" doesn't justify it. This place serves burgers and sandwiches but only sandwiches come with fries? That doesn't make sense when the most traditional side for a burger, are fries... The service wasn't bad but I didn't get a refill of my first glass of water until AFTER our appetizer and meal. The burger was good, much smaller than the first time we went and the bread was basic bread you can buy at Publix. The fries (regular and sweet potato) were amazing. Definitely won't be returning there. I hate giving bad reviews but the place left me very unhappy.

I've been to Frenchies three times, this review is for my last visit. First, The menu is reduced to a few burgers and sandwiches, nothing special. Same feel inside the dining room, same LONG WAIT for anything ordered. Do I mind the wait? Not necessarily. The restaurant has a nice, happy feel with the exception of the constantly blowing ice cold a/c. I ordered there "double burger" which was supposed to consist of two 5 oz patties, cheese and a fried, sunny side egg. After waiting about an hour for my burger (yes, an hour) I carefully inspect the burger. The patties were burned on the outside yet cold on the inside, the greens did not look fresh AND THE WORST PART?! An almost completely RAW EGG that happened to run off the patties and into the middle of the basket. I was about to snap a picture but the waiter noticed my disgust and quickly swiped the basket off the table and told me it would be fixed ASAP. I could tell our waiter was overworked. I felt bad for him, and rather than waiting for him to bring the food back my wife and I closed our bill and left for pizza across the shopping center (yum! lol) Il probably never come back, which is sad considering the first two times were pretty decent. I'll be surprised if this restaurant stays open much longer.

I could write a long winded review and warn all others to stay as far away from this joint as possible, but the more I look back on the events that occurred today, the place is simply not worth my effort. While the food was tasty, and I'll give them that, they took over twenty minutes to even acknowledge us and we almost walked out. We placed our order and despite hoping things would move along smoother now, the appetizers arrived at the same time as the meals (about 30 minutes out again). Water was only refilled when we brought it up (and we still had to wait). Another family left from the wait and were disgusted that they also were not acknowledged. The server who tries to have an affable personality, is all fluff. He noticed my yelp app had a five percent off deal and told us he'd give us ten percent off. This didn't happen. They also charged $1.95 for fries that never arrived. Additionally, they had the cojones to also charge for the appetizer that we sent back because it arrived when the meal came out. All of their focus was on a little children's birthday party next door instead of focusing on adults inside. We are not saying it's not OK to cater, but close your restaurant down at night if you can't focus on your customers properly. In this small plaza way out west with not much around, one bad experience or review can shut them down for the long haul. Again, it's a shame because the food was good but even the table next to us was complaining about the wait and service and commenting that it's typical for this restaurant to ignore its patrons. I'm sorry, but with their prices, and being in the great city of Miami, there are thousands of amazing restaurants that can accommodate their clientele and make them feel like they're not being placed in solitary confinement for the evening. There is a lot of reorganization that needs to take place at Frenchies.

Pretty good. I never thought a bigger could be too big, but I'm wrong. The burgers here a super big. Kinda takes away from recipe. Not my cup of tea. Give them an A+ for creativity.

This place used to be a solid go-to restaurant when i couldn't make a decision on what to eat. Then, they changed their menu. -_- Before i enjoyed their crepes and sandwiches but now, they are trying out a whole burger centric menu that just isn't as good. Go back to your old menu and I will come back more often. Aside from that, i still love to order their dessert crepes for pick-up; one of the best treats for a night in.

Wanted to come here for a while since my friend Amabel wrote such a nice review. Appetizer we ordered the pinch me it was small but for $5 i guess its reasonable. the pineapple bbq sauce on it was DELISH! i wish i could buy some for home. Since I went here on a Sunday I ordered the waffle burger. Very big portion and decent price $13. Could feed 2! The food took a while to come out and we were the only people there -.- the waffle could have cooked longer it was a bit too soft for my taste. But the burger itself was good. Great seasoning and cooked perfectly at med well. The skinny fries had some garlic salt on it and with the runny egg from the burger made it even better! Le beau ordered the magic woman he enjoyed it and it came with a good amount of chicken. It also has fried avocado on the side which was ok. He rather have plain avocado. It was very flavorful and not dry at all. See pics for what we ordered!

When it first opened, their menu had crepes and a variety of sandwiches. Their menu is a fraction of what it once was. It's pretty much a burger bar now. Still tasty but not what it once was. The staff is great but they are working their butts off. Only a matter of time be4 the wheels come off. Unfortunately there is a McD next door and most people would rather save 2 bucks.

I came to Frenchies with no plans of eating since I already had dinner, BUT I decided to try the Soup of the Day, Squash..idk what with Feta Cheese. Ladies and gentleman, this place is the real deal! If their entrees are as delicious as that soup...call me Lola and strap a French Maid costume on me, because it was out of hand! I'll definitely be coming back and recommend you try it out.

NO!!!!! Food sub-par and service dreadful. 4 people in the place and I couldn't get seated. When I went the wait for water was about 15 minutes, came to take order and now we are looking at about 35 minutes total and then the food arrives at about 45-50 minutes total. Completely unacceptable. I expected something great having waited this long.... I felt like a fool, food tastes like Burger King (not a compliment). Lacks of flavor and over priced. Places like this is what leads me to just cook at home and have a great meal.

Can we pretend there isn't one star marked up there & make it zero?? So apparently this place is closing and if they're not then they should. Our waiter started off by saying "there are many things that we are out of such as no Onion rings, no onions at all, no pulled pork, no mango chutney, no creeps at all, no desserts either...." Etc etc. I felt like I was on a restaurant rescue show or something. What they did have was a $20 filet Mignon sandwich but no bread for it... I had to laugh at that point... I honestly don't know why we stayed but it was terrible.

The first few times I went to this place I thought it was amazing. Food was delicious and of good quality. Service was also nice. This Last time I was there was well, my last time there. Let me explain, when we walked in the place was almost empty except a group of 8 who were celebrating their kids birthday. The server took a very long time to acknowledge us. We ordered wine and she just mentions wine types, no name or price since they do not have a wine menu. We did not order beer because last time beer was brought in this super tiny mason jars and we felt we were being ripped off. So we had four glasses of wine and each a burger. My burger was not good. It had so much bbq sauce I couldnt taste the actual burger. I love bbq anything, but that was too much! It made my thin "publix" bread bun almost a paste of bbq and soggy sub par bread. Fries were delicious though. Now here is when it made me really really upset. The check. Each nameless wine glass was $10! So $40 bucks wasted on cheap nameless wine. Fries that we thought came with burger as its is normal in every freaking burger place were charged extra. Because why not rip your customers off a little more. Server was rude, and even my boyfriend who never gets mad easily wanted to slap her. So there, I hate to give terrible reviews, but we felt disrespected and bank account violated by $40 of nameless cheap wine. Thanks Frenchies.

Went to have lunch Sunday with some friends. They had been there the day before and had enjoyed the food and recommended we try it. I'll start with the onion rings by far the best part of the meal perfectly battered crispy with a wonderful dipping sauce. Everything from that point forward went downhill fast. Our server was the worst part of the meal. The food came out one at a time. We had four children three of which were served and one was left waiting. There were four adults for whom the food came out one person at a time over the course of 10 minutes. By the time the last dish came out the first person's food was cold. I had a burger which was served with fried avocados. Not a bad dish but nothing to write home about. My wife had a chicken wrap which was okay my friend's wife also had a chicken wrap same experience. The only solid meal was the waffle burger off of the brunch menu. It was interesting and very tasty. The fried green tomatoes were okay as well. The food was relatively inexpensive but the experience overall was poor. Although I would like to try the food again I'm not sure I'll be back given how poor the service was.

My server was very friendly and polite. My experience had no major flaws. I'm only deducting a star based on value for money. I found it a bit on the pricey side. But everything else was fine during my visit.

This was our 3rd and sadly our last visit. We have been to Frenchies before and enjoyed the menu very much, however now the menu is terrible. Simply put then menu has been dumbed down big time, thus losing its appeal in my eyes. My gf and I ended up walking out and went to Little Louie's Italian Kitchen. Frnexhies should dedicate its business to Going Bananas, it might do better.

I was really disappointed when I went to order one of my favorite sandwiches to see that their "menu has changed a bit" it would have been ok if that was the case but there menu is not a total of 10 things ... No appetizers no creeps nothing special about 5 burgers same sandwiches and that's it... Everything very genetic unlike there past menu that was full of unexpected items, like Brie appetizer, goat cheese and prosciutto sandwich ect... I use to love this place now there menu is lacking options!

Been here a few times, mostly late a night, where most restaurants around the area are usually about to close. My boyfriend and I are a huge fan of their burgers and sandwiches which comes with a side of skinny fries. My favorite burger would be the rock-n-roll burger and the appetizer with Brie on sliced Baguettes are pretty good too! Always wanted to try their desserts, but the portions are pretty big-for me, so I'm always too full for desserts. but, one day i shall try their crepes!

This place is great. There is never a wait and the food comes out pretty quickly. You get a free draft beer with any burger order (not sure if this is everyday). Prices are reasonable and the service is always great. I recommend the sweet plantain burger (not on the menu as of this review but ask for it). The Lucky You wrap was awesome if you are in the mood for something a little lighter. The desert menu is huge and has lots of great stuff. We tried the Falling Sky crepe and it was amazing!

Casual all around with a great selection of burgers. For those watching their waistline, Frenchie's salad is very fresh & can be mixed with a selection of proteins. 'Pinch Me' kabob is delicioussss!!! Services is great, but wish they had a wait to be seated or sit anywhere sign at entry. That's a little confusing. Definitely worth your time & tummy to check out!

It pains my heart to give this place 3 stars because the food was sooooo good that if I lived in another city in South Florida I might take a long drive to eat at this place- that's how good the food is.. Amazing!!! Why 3 stars.. I will get to that. Pros- food was fantastic . The sea bass wrap was incredible and the steak sandwich was also really good. We ordered the chocolate fondue which was yummy but had to have it at home because how long the wait was to get the dessert to our table. They do honor check in discount which also is a plus. They also have a great selection of beer and wines. Cons- the service was so slow. Our waitress was super nice but not very visible throughout our meal. Other servers tended to us more than she did. Our food came out quickly but the dessert took 25 min (which is crazy because fondue is not complicated). We are appreciative that they took 10 percent of our bill and the food was too good not to be back. Food was really good.. Hopefully service will be better next time :)

Where do I begin...this place is amazing!!!!! The staff, especially the owners, are extremely welcoming and friendly. The first day we went there was on a date night with my husband (then boyfriend). When I went to congratulate the owners on their beautiful business, we felt as if they were family. We later celebrated one of my birthdays there and had our wedding rehearsal dinner there as well! They are very near and dear to me since that day we decided to try this new place out...we were blown away! The food is amazing (can only speak of what I've eaten which we'll get to that shortly). The chef is very talented and sweet. I'm a HUGE foodie so had to congratulate him because I'm also very selective (I eat just about everything and will try almost anything so therefore I'm selective not picky)! ;) Let's start prices...not too pricey. My favorite meal is the filet mignon burger (I get it with no bun) and it's only about $18 or so! Seriously the tastiest thing ever!!! Where can you get filet mignon that cheap AND good?...Nowhere (at least that I've heard)! From what I remember, that's the most expensive (and BEST) meal on the menu. :) The Magic Woman is also a favorite of mine. It's a chicken crepe with this amazing sauce (you can ask for it on the side if you're not big on sauces...if you love it pour it all over /the food though please/)! I also get this with regular avocados (because they come fried and I'm not big on fried). My husband loves the churrasco sandwich (can't remember the name now but it's one of the popular items they recommend)! They have this amazing appetizer (pieces of toasted baguettes...can't remember what was on top like prosciutto /Italian ham/, tomato, yummy sauce). I had it for my rehearsal dinner because because the owner, Elisa, recommended it and it was soooo good! There was one type with nuts and a different one without nuts..both good but I loved the one without nuts! Elisa made our rehearsal dinner extremely special! I almost cried when I saw everything. She decorated everything so simple and beautiful...just for us (I only had one banner that I wanted to put up and she added the sweetest center pieces and even a cupcake stand). Now, the wait for the food may take longer than you'd like, especially depending on the size of your party and how packed it is, but think about it...they are making each meal FRESH for YOU! It's a small family owned business..this isn't McDonald's or Pei Wei where they have a million people making your food (and I'm not comparing the food to these restaurants because there is no comparison..I'm just comparing the wait time). It's one chef dedicating his time to make it right! It's worth the wait...especially for that filet!! They also have a selection of wine, beer, and a sangria. I haven't been to Goin Banana's since I don't have children, though many of my friends do and have gone...they say they love it. It's a beautiful and wonderful concept! Have dinner with family/friends while kids eat and play next door (as long as their old enough). The kids can go back and forth to you from restaurant to Goin Bananas anytime! If your children are not old enough to be supervised by the staff or you don't feel comfortable at first, you can always eat at Goin Bananas while your kids play (and they eat too). I recommend this place 1,000%. It has fresh, affordable, and delicious food as well as a great ambiance and staff (you feel like family...but don't be shy...say hi! You won't regret it!). As a customer, you'll feel valued and appreciated...I know we do! So what are you waiting for?! Make dinner date plans! ;)

This review is based strictly on the service, or lack of, that my family and I received when dining out for dinner. When we arrived on a Wednesday night around 6:00pm we were the only people there. A woman shouted out from the back of the restaurant to go ahead and sit wherever we wanted to. After 15 minutes or so someone finally came over to take our order. At the same time someone else brought us each a glass of water. We ordered an appetizer and 4 entrees and then waited for what seemed to be forever. After 15-20 minutes I finally spotted my server again and asked him where our appetizer was, to which he responded it would be just a few more minutes. After another 10 minutes our entrees finally arrived, followed by our appetizer. We then had to ask to have more water brought out or if not I am sure none would have been offered. It is a shame that the service was so horrible because the food was very good. Unfortunately we were all in bad moods from the terrible service that it ruined our dining experience. As other people came in to eat that night we noticed that one group got up and left after waiting so long for their food and also the people sitting next to us were complaining about the same thing. This restaurant also owns a children's party place next door to it and apparently all of the employees were spending their time catering to that group. As for us we will never go back to this place and advise those who do to be prepared to wait an incredibly long time to get your food.

Great food, innovative and a fresh change to the usual Kendall places Lolitas tostones were Amazing with pulled pork mango salsa and feta The kabob on the appetizers was to die for The Swiss cheese and mushroom crepe was killer The Burgers Great Only downsides were the fries with cheese and bacon that lacked flavor and looked like they had been sitting under a heat lamp for awhile And coffee was mediocre at best Service great and they serve ur drinks in mason jars which I loveeee

OMG! The food here is amazing! From start to finish our first time visit here was soo great. The waitress magda was super nice and inviting. She also knew her stuff, I took her recommendation and To start off my bf and I had the pinch me and the sauce is to die for!! Just when I thought the goodness would end I was wrong. Had the surf side burger(which was magdas favorite) and the burst of yumminess that over took my mouth was freaking wonderful!! My bf had the godfather burger which was very filling. As the river of delicious was coming to an end we ordered dessert-do it again and what a great way to end dinner, with the right amount of sweet w fruit. This crepe with vanilla ice cream was just as good as the rest of the food. I will def! Be coming back here

Ugh why do we keep trying... I promise it never gets better always worse but today was the day we won't be going back and I finally write my review.. The biggest thing they take FOREVER!!! To do ANYTHING!! OMG how frustrating.. Seriously! First I asked our waitress (after she mentioned the beers) "do you have any gluten free beers?" Her answer um we have sprite and coke???? OK.. I ordered my burger no bread medium rare ( I like it cooked and a lil bloody) yeaaaa how about I pretty much got a rare patty... Smh.. O yea there was only one other party in the restaurant so it's not like they were busy.. I ordered ice cream for my kids when we ordered our food and our food that took well over 20 minutes came out before the ice cream?? Really.. And then it's just a scoop of box vanilla ice cream lmao really?? I asked when the ice cream was coming and she said it's coming out in the order it was put in... Hmm soooo you make box ice cream there?? Interesting.. Don't waste your time coming here honestly.. I have them 2 stars bc lol I don't even know why lol

As a lifelong resident of Kendall, I can tell you firsthand how difficult it can be to find a great restaurant that's not part of a major chain (Chili's, Longhorn, etc). I've had Frenchie's on my radar for a while now, and I have to say that I am VERY pleased with my first visit! Here's how it stacks up: Ambiance: I love the decor and the mood of the place. It's not a big restaurant, and it definitely has a cozy feeling. The decor is very trendy, and they have two big TVs that are easy to see so it would definitely be a good place for a game night. I love the bar set up. Service: I noticed that Frenchies has been dinged several times for service. I have to say that my experience was very different. The service was excellent all throughout my visit, and my server (Jerome) even made some great suggestions (appetizer & dessert). My son really wanted ice cream and it's not on the menu as a single item. Still, he brought it out in a cup with hot fudge and sprinkles. My son was a very happy guy! Food: This was, of course, the best part! The appetizer was highly recommended by our server, so I decided to try it out. It was called "Pinch Me," and basically came with chicken, skirt steak, and jumbo shrimp on a skewer and topped with a tangy pineapple BBQ sauce. It was AMAZING! The chicken was flavorful, the shrimp were cooked perfectly, and the steak.... Oh the steak. It was the most tender, juicy, and delicious piece of meat that I've had in a while. Very Awesome! My main dish was the Blue Burger, a 10oz Angus beef burger topped with roasted mushrooms, caramelized onions, cilantro garlic aioli and blue cheese. This too was amazing. The aioli was excellent and really enhances the flavor of the burger. Finally, I had the Wreckless Love for dessert. This is a crepe (basically their entire dessert menu) stuffed with strawberries, bananas, Nutella, and brownie bites. I love when crepes are on the soft side (not crunchy!), and this one was definitely that. It was decadent and awesome. Great ambiance, excellent service, and tasty food. Great experience!

I hate writing two-star reviews. I really do. But if you give me a reason(s) to, I will. I'll explain in detail... My boyfriend arrived and we were seated next to a table of extremely loud and almost belligerently drink group of people...oh yay. You can say it definitely killed the date night mood. We were brought our menus & their creations are interesting so I say give it a try so you can try something new. Our server did the minimal and was rude at times- no need for that. My boyfriend ordered the "Hello....Frenchies" burger and the meat, though medium-rare like he asked, was not seasoned on its own rather, they rely on the toppings to add flavor to their burgers. I was not one to complain and though I thought the burger was good, he thought it was decent at best. I ordered the "Mama Don't Understand" sandwich which is basically a three-cheese grilled sandwich. I loved it...except the bread. You think grilled, you think flat but this was not the case. It was a very fluffy sandwich. They serve the beer in mason jars.. I get it, its "in" and "hip" but how much beer are you actually getting in those small mason jars?! I'll tell you- you're getting ripped off. When asking for a wine list (They have Wine Wednesday- $2 glasses!) well, there is no wine list. Just the basics and no names of the wine- very sketchy. We won't be coming back here again not because we don't want to but it genuinely was not worth the $35. Oh and as for the obnoxious drunk people...I'll just say I left with a migraine.

Great place in the far West:). The butternut squash soup was as good as any gourmet place in Boston. The Pinch Me appetizer was delicious, grilled to perfection and you can't beat the price. The sea bass sandwich was fresh. Great burger and lovely fries. We couldn't have asked for a better waiter - Gerome. I will be back to try the fried green tomatoes next time I visit the 305.

I finally made it to Frenchies since my friend is always bragging about it! First and foremost, the customer service is excellent, from the owners to the waiters(tresses); they make you feel like family. As far as the menu, I think it's good (enough choices not to make you crazy) and the food was great and was very fresh. The desserts are pretty amazing! The other great thing this place has is that while the adults are enjoying a nice meal, the kids are next door (literally) at the indoor playground having a great time as well. Although it''s connected, you can not hear any noise coming from the playground (very safe place for kids). I think this was a superb idea and I just wish we had something like this back 15 years ago. I definitely recommend this place!!!!!

I really wanted to like this place. First time I came here I had the veggie sandwich, meehhh, soggy bread soggy fries. Second time I had the steak wrap. It was decent but nothing wow ! The fries were good this time though, but again nothing impressive. I'm sorry ! I tried to love you !!!!

Good burgers and great for families with kids, since they have a play area available with paid kids meal. The burgers DON'T come with fries anymore (now you have to buy the fries extra), but looks like they've adjusted their prices to reflect that. Overall, a great place for families and the food is good. Only down is that the food consistently takes pretty long and they seem understaffed. But, highly recommend it.

Love this place! Shrimp on a burger!? Followed by delicious desert crepes! Not to mention the onion rings! Plus the kids get to play next door. Glad I live close by.

*EDIT 4/11/2015* The food is still decent here, but I cannot recommend Frenchie's due to the extremely slow service. Seriously, the service here is the slowest I have ever experienced and they rarely if ever refill your glass if you're empty. OLD REVIEW BELOW: Frenchie's Bistro is quite possibly the most cozy little restaurant I've been to in awhile. My family and I went shortly after they opened and we've returned several times since then due to how great the food was. They have a very unique menu and have even gone out of their way to create a sandwich my girlfriend requested once. Their waffle burger on the weekend is amazing. A bacon cheeseburger, with an egg on top, embraced by two waffles. Crazy? Yes. Delicious? Absolutely. However, if there is one criticism that I have, it's the service. On several occasions I wondered where the waiter was, even though it's a small restaurant. My glass went empty multiple times and I had to try and flag him down to get a refill. It generally took long for service to come around for any type of assistance, so that was a little surprising. Even with that minor criticism, I still give Frenchie's Bistro 4 stars. It's reasonably priced, tastes great, and it's a comfortable restaurant close to home.

This is the fourth time I go. Let's be honest, the service has never been award winning. Its the same guy and girl since I've been going. After a year the girl still doesn't know the menu and still has made no attempts to learn anything about food, or beer, or wine, or anything that would help her answer any question you might have. But the food is awesome right? Well tonight was far from awesome. Lets start with the service. We were acknowledged immediately which was good, we got our drink order taken and they came out which was good. 20 minutes later, they come to take our order. There were two other people in there. In the meantime I can see, because they don't even try to hide, two of the three waiters sitting at the bar watching the game, the other one busy doing who knows what. About 20 minutes after that our soup comes out. It was barely warm. There are two things that should never happen in any food establishment: warm beer and cold soup (unless its supposed to be), its just not right. Food comes out, ordered crepes, not hot, not tasty, not awesome. Except for the fried avocado, they were quite hot, scorching hot, which leads me to believe that my crepes were sitting on the counter, till they got to an unpleasant eating temperature, while they fried up the avocados. I burned the inside of my mouth, and had no water, was never given any, to cool it off, and was out of beer. You should never ever, ever, have to ask for water in a restaurant. Even at Denny's they get that right!

Amazing food for a little nook in the neighborhood. The best part is that we can eat, have happy hour, and enjoy adult time while the kids play in the indoor playgroung for 7$ including their meal. A little gem in the kendall area. The owner was present and friendly making sure everything was perfect. I will be a repeat customer for sure!

I have been dying to go visit this place and maybe my mistake was to go right before opening. The owner was very pleasant and saw us standing outside and opened the door 5 minutes earlier. I ordered one of their burgers and so did my friend, but i was so disappointed at the taste, the meat was tasteless, if it wasn't for the sauce it had and the tons of ketchup I added, I would have left the entire meal. The fries were greasy. We were both disappointed. The size of the patty is huge and that is a plus, but overall I was not happy.. I might give it another try just because I feel that maybe me being the first customer might of played a role :)...

Good neighborhood spot. Nice decor and cool environment. Excellent Australian sea bass wrap with skinny fries. Thick! Tasty blue cheese burger. Only wished if next door kids play center noise wasnt heard. Still a good spot to eat at.

This place is great! Food is well presented. I've been there twice and my wife three times. She eats the Carlito' s Way sandwich every time. I have had the Magic woman crepe and The Revolver both great dishes. The onion rings are spectacular! I've also had the prosciutto with goat cheese and mangoviche on top of baguette bread. My kids have the grilled cheese and hamburgers with fries which are also very tasty. This is definitely a place we will keep going to often.

loved, loved, loved this place. I had been wanting to come here for a long time and not even planning i got here. The restaurant has it's own personality, really cute decor and cozy atmosphere. Came here late at like 10pm with friends and the service was really good ( our waiter was very friendly). We started off with brie with apricot marmalade with candied walnuts on sliced french baguette DELISH!!!! Then i had the california dreamer burger and added a fried egg with skinny fries AMAZING!. My hubby had the beautiful dreamer with skinny fries also excellent, my coworker had the steak wrap ( not a fan of blue cheese it overpowered the taste) and her husband had the chicken marsala crepe to die for the sauce was phenomenal. For dessert they had the crepe with strawberry fields, they said it was great also. This area of Kendall is definitely not my forte area of dinner expertise, BUT i will be coming back sooooooooooon. Prices are very decent and they are open til late on the weekends..

Going bananas is great for the kids and they serve wine and beer for the parents! However the owner or manager whoever she is was RUDE! Might not go back! She make customers feel like she is doing us a favor! Service was ok at it's best.

  • Loisis C.

we went a couple of weeks after they opened the restaurant and waited an hour for our main course and got charged for sauces (which we would not need if the food actually had any flavor). We decided to give it a try the second time around months later, hoping they had learned from their mistakes--let's just say shame on us--we waited for our main course for an hour AGAIN!!! That is just ridiculous for 2 sandwiches; the waiters look inexperienced. In a normal restaurant, after waiting that long you would at least expect the manager to come to your table and at least apologize, offer a complimentary desert, a discount, ANYTHING!!! NOT professional; these people obviously know nothing about running a restaurant or servicing customers. Highly disappointed because the restaurant is nice but overpriced for this kind of service and the food is not even all that.

Although the food is more like 3.5 stars, as a mom of two, who gets tired of pizza joints to satisfy the kids, I can really appreciate this place. They have a decent beer and wine selection and the dinner menu is great. The best part of this is the kids play gym next door that allows the kids to play while you have "adult" food in a modern atmosphere. brilliant!

Frenchie's is a hidden gem. Amazing customer service by the staff. The owner is always around and he approaches you. Friendly and family oriented place. Also good for 1st dates. Good ambient lighting. Cozy booths. The I tried a few things on the menu and they are all hits. The surf side burger, the churrasco sandwhich.

Want to go back, I wish it was little bigger, but good things come in small packages. The Burger I had was perfectly cooked. My wife had one with shrimp in it. Delicious!!!! I need to try one of those crepes out! We were stuffed and had no room for any more food. Oh the onion rings ..get em. They have Magic hat #9 :)

Well I have been here so many times . I came from the beginning. I stumbled in looking for good food in a neighborhood with not that many fusion restaurants, but more traditional ones. The place is nice and family oriented but it has something for everybody, with french decor as well as TV on silent of course, and a great friendly staff. The food is very good and tasty they have great crepes and desserts.with great toppings like nutella or salty crepe with shrimp. Now we come to the burger and sandwich section and appetizers Please eat a burger or a sandwich or an appetizer My God the burgers have a great variety or create your own. Sandwiches are awesome from steak and eggs to pork and shrimp on a sandwich hummmm. Also the appetizers are yummy. Cheese fondue and shrimp with. Bacon and barbecue sauce as well as sliders oh wow ! The owners get special perks for making you feel at home, and they have beer and wine too! And good beers and a good wine selection. But again burgers burgers burgers hunmmmmm 2 thumbs up from me enjoy.

Ok, so I came here because I was told there was this burger they served with a plantain in it, which sounded like my kind of burger. I asked the waiter about it since I didnt see it on the menu. The owner of the place came out and told me that it wasnt on the menu but he does make it per request of the customer. So I was really excited about it. As soon as I got it and took a bite, I was grossed out. They put this giant onion ring which literally was the size of a donut, which looked and tasted like one too. No crunch at all. The burger lacked flavor and the place in my opinion was pretty pricey for that little spot. Not going back. Sorry.

  • Suzie Q.

(( Really a 3.5 )) I ate there last night, and we had great and quick service. The environment was very nice. We ordered theses huge onion rings (which was delicious) and a burger with fries. We both found the burger bun to have been WAY too thick. I had to take off the top bun and eat it like a pizza. I thought it was super good with the one bun, but it was kinda uncomfortable eating a burger with one bun. I ate almost all of it and left super stuffed. My partner felt as if his burger was missing the some basic seasoning (salt and pepper,) which they had readily available on our table. Maybe it's unseasoned so we may season the burger to our taste? It's good, but unless we hear that the size of the bun has reduced, we'd probably won't go back .

I loved the food here!!! The waiter Jerome was awesome and the owner came around to talk to everyone. Yes the kids screaming next door was annoying but great for families who have no sitter. Definitely will go back

Great food! Amazing service! Reasonable prices! I had a gluten-free need and the owner came out and spoke to me. He made a recommendation and it was perfect. Great wine selection at 2 for 1 prices. Only in business for 8 months but they have all the right ingredients!

The only reason I'm not giving this place one star is because my meal was very good . . . not hot at all but good. My boyfriend and I went yesterday. We were so hungry when we got there and saw the place only had a couple full tables so we figured it would be pretty quick. I'm french and was expecting the smell of a bakery when I walked in. It smelled more like a sports bar and had no baguette or croissant sandwiches which i found strange for a "french restaurant" but decided to give them a shot anyway. We sat down and were ignored for almost 10 minutes. We were kind of in a hurry so decided to go order at the bar and ask for the food to go. We already knew what we wanted by the time we got up there so we placed our order and decided to order a beer for my boyfriend and a water for me while we waited. We ended up sharing the beer because the water tasted like chlorine. There were MAYBE three full tables in the entire place and we ended up waiting over 30 minutes for a wrap with fries and a chicken curry crepe. They told us the reason we waited so long was because they were waiting on the fries. The fries came out cold so they clearly lied to us and EVERYTHING ended up being cold. We got it all in to go boxes but ate in the car so it's not like it had time to get cold on our end. Really unbelievable considering there were 2 waitresses for the small amount of customers there. It's unfortunate because had the service been good I probably would have gone back to this place. Advice to the owner . . . get some decent waitresses because the ones you have are TERRIBLE!!!!!!!! They were more preoccupied with the kids place next door than with the customers in their own restaurant! If I knew the wait wouldn't be ridiculous and my food would actually come out hot next time, I might actually go back but, from what I saw yesterday, I highly doubt it.

Last night my husband and I ate at Frenchie's and it was GREAT! We ordered a few appetizers: onion rings - huge, freshly fried and delicious; the garlic cilantro aioli that comes w/ it is housemade and AMAZING - we kept ordering more ramekins of it; also had the brie w/ walnuts and the homemade sauce, the prosciutto/goat cheese & fruit salsa - refreshing and unexpected - and the blue burger with mushrooms, blue cheese, caramelized onions on a brioche bun. The burger was one of the best we've ever had - thick, juicy, cooked perfectly and all the toppings made it even more delicious. We were just in New York a few weeks ago and had burgers at Daniel Boulud's and Jean-Georges' restaurants (we're talking $30 burgers) and this one is right up there in deliciousness - in fact, the burger was better than the one we had at Daniel Boulud's! As I have said before, this is a great addition to this area and I will continue to visit. There is NOWHERE to eat in West Kendall unless you drive 15-20 minutes east so it's nice to have a casual, family-friendly place with good food to go to that is in the neighborhood. For those of you that complained of the service - it's NOT EASY opening a restaurant - my husband is in the restaurant industry and I am in the foodservice/culinary industry and let me tell you, you can go to the best of the best on an opening night or the first few months of a place being open and there are ALWAYS going to be kinks that need to be worked out - it's the nature of the industry and the staff that you're dealing with in this industry. I URGE you to try Frenchie's again!

We went for lunch. The place is very nicely decorated. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. She gave me tips on what to order based on what I liked. The menu had a lot of options. The burgers were juicy and very flavorful. The cheese fries were regular cheese fries, huge portion, def meant to share. We ordered sangria which although yummy was made with fruit cocktail. All in all a good experience. I love and want to support the movement of nicer places out west so we will def be returning.

My burger was over cooked, and they brought me the wrong side without asking because the one I originally requested ran out. It would have been nice to know what I was getting before it arriving to my table. I wasn't pleased with the replacement side they chose for me. I didn't sign up for a surprise dinner. No compensation was given for their mistakes. I can't wait for the burger & beer joint to open right next door to Frenchies.

This place is great. Love the atmosphere. I don't eat meat anymore, but the steak sandwich was good when I had it. Great flavor always. Maybe a little tough though at times. Prices are Not too bad. I wish they had healthier alternatives for side dishes instead of just fries. And that they had whole wheat loaf bread alternatives for the sandwiches too other than sliced bread. Overall, cute place with good food.

Ever since I found out about this place early this week I've been wanting to try it. ALTHOUGH it was a freakin mission to find it! I think the address they have on Yelp is wrong because my boyfriend and I BOTH couldn't find the place on our GPS. It says something like 132nd and 52 St, when we got there it was a neighborhood -_- so we ended up calling them it was actually in the new plaza on 157th & 56th. Hmph. Anywhooo... I love the atmosphere in this place and the decor too. The service was great, very friendly and accommodating. One thing to know though is that their "waffle burger", which I desperately want to try ISN'T on the menu, we had to ask about it... Apparently they only make it on the weekends, but waiter talked to the chef and got me one! Woohoo! That burger was absolutely heaven... It was a combo of salty and sweet from the mix of the over easy egg inside and then the syrup poured on the waffle buns. It's a very heavy dish though.. I only are one half haha. My boyfriend got the "go ahead" which is the complete opposite of my burger. It's a healthier sandwich, a lot lighter than my meal, but just as delicious. Also added bonus! If you check in you get 10% off if you spend over 30 and then another deal $5 for $10 or something like that. And with that said I'm definitely going back.

The place is nice and simply decorated. Came on Monday and they had $1 drafts. They had Yuenling, Blue Moon and Stella on draft (and either miller or bud light). For apps we tried the All day Baby, bacon wrapped BBQ shimp and scallops. The plate brought four of these and they were very tasy. We also had the Hot Mama, onion rings, which also brought four rings, they were very large and crispy, and came with a lemon tasting sauce to dip. The apps were 13 and 5 respectively, and I think for the amount of food it brought, it was not worth the price at all. I had the Vive le Rock steak sandwich which was very tasty and a very good size. My dad had the Isla burger and his meat was cooked perfectly and tasted great. The bread used for the sandwhich and burger (and my daughters hot dog) was GREAT. Soft and looked really fresh. The crepes come with many fillings, strawberry, banana, nutella, apples and they also offer waffles with the same toppings. I had a crepe with bananas, dulce de leche and marshmallows. It was average, but my dad had the Guilty Pleasure crepe with fire roasted apples and that was GREAT! I would recommened this place, but would skip the appetizers.

My husband and I have been to Frenchies numerous times and the food is always excellent. The meal we had on Mother's Day was outstanding. They have the best tasting burgers & crepes, and their beef dishes melt in your mouth. My husband loves the wings and cold beer. We always leave there satisfied. The owners and their staff are very friendly, and are always checking to see that we have everything we need. We just love the atmosphere there. It's so relaxing. We always see groups of family and friends having a good time and enjoying great food. We will continue to be regulars at Frenchies.

Great Place! Awesome food and friendly staff. I had my daughters birthday there and everyone had a great time. So far I've recommended 5 people and they all say loved it. I'm coming back this week for the Filet Mignon Burger one more time! Can't get enough! Thanks!!

Make dinner date plans! ;)

  • Michelle J.

Sorry.

Great food! Amazing service! Reasonable prices! I had a gluten-free need and the owner came out and spoke to me. He made a recommendation and it was perfect. Great wine selection at 2 for 1 prices. Only in business for 8 months but they have all the right ingredients!

I might give it another try just because I feel that maybe me being the first customer might of played a role :)...

loved, loved, loved this place.

Great Place! Awesome food and friendly staff. I had my daughters birthday there and everyone had a great time. So far I've recommended 5 people and they all say loved it. I'm coming back this week for the Filet Mignon Burger one more time! Can't get enough! Thanks!!

We like to support small business and hope to see them do well. .

we went a couple of weeks after they opened the restaurant and waited an hour for our main course and got charged for sauces (which we would not need if the food actually had any flavor).

Make dinner date plans! ;)
