Why does a media noche take 15 minutes when there are three tables in the joint? Plus when the sandwich is ready, the counter guy stands there for another 5 minutes playing with the cash register.

With the new owners things are better. I'm guessing they have a new because cook the food taste better. They are no longer including the tip in the receipt. If service was a little quicker I would give it a 5 star.

One of the typical latin cafeteria type restaurants in Doral. They offer inexpensive delivery for breakfast, lunch & dinner. (Open only until 7pm, which for a cafeteria, is pretty late) IMO, they have the best Tostada Cubana (Cuban Toast) out of all the other cafeterias that I have tried in the area. I cannot STAND to order a toast and receive a BRICK disguised as toasted cuban bread covered in butter. Ugh. I typically just order the tostada & cafe con leche. I'm picky with my coffee. I like it "Oscurito y Dulce". (Translation: Dark & Sweet.) I want more coffee, less milk, extra sugar. I ALWAYS order my cafe this way... But I don't always RECEIVE it this way. Sadly, it's really hit or miss. Their sandwiches are ok, not great, not horrible. Meh. They also offer quite a variety of other hot breakfasts, all very affordable ranging from $2.95 to $6.49. They also have a large selection of lunch plates which are also affordable & large portioned. Typical Cuban fare along with salads, wraps and such. Nothing to knock your socks off. Don't get me wrong, the food is decent & by no means is it BAD. It just isn't great. Based on the food alone, the place is a solid 3 stars... But... I had to knock one off due to the staff. The lady that answers the phone and runs the counter is less than friendly. She is, in fact, quite snooty. I don't believe she knows HOW to smile. I also had an experience once when calling in. I believe it was with the same woman, but I can't be sure... I was placing an order over the phone and had asked for my total. The guy didnt actually place me on hold, he just set the phone down. I heard him ask the lady to give me my total and heard her tell him in a nasty tone "She will just have to WAIT!" Once I got him back on the phone, I asked him who that lady was. I was informed that she is the OWNER!! I asked to speak with her directly. Of course, once she was on the line with me, she was sweet as pie and all apologies but I was not hearing it. I calmly told her that never in my life had I heard such unprofessionalism from an OWNER of an establishment. She was very apologetic & embarrassed I'm sure but I had already seen her "true colors". And to top it off, the delivery guy that always brings the food used to work at a different cafeteria (one with the bricks they pass off as toast) and has now started working here. Now he bashes the previous place to each & every employee that he delivers food to here. (We are a pretty big office & everyone has the same story about him.) He now also adds that the cook from the other cafeteria was fired and has now also moved to Doral Grille so if we liked the food, don't order from there anymore, order it from Doral Grille. Ummmmm... can we say unprofessional? But considering the behavior of the owner herself, can we really say that we're surprised?

I like this place. I am not a latin food expert, but the two meals I have had here have been pretty tasty. They buttered bread they serve each table is great. My first meal was shredded beef and beans and rice on the side, and fried plantains. It was really good. My second visit was for a Cuban sandwich, which I also liked. I will visit this place again.
