If you are craving fresh Caribbean food, then this is the place to go. I'm not Haitian, but I love Haitian food and have been to many Haitian restaurants in Miami. The food here is great and the staff is very friendly. It's very clean, but not a formal restaurant.... more of a cafe with authentic Haitian artwork adorning the walls. The conch in sauce is "to die for" and my kids loved the fried turkey. The meals are served with your choice of rice (there is a selection of typical Haitian style rices), fried plantain, and the salad of the day. Caribbean sodas and other beverages are available to purchase as well. If you've never had Haitian food, you must try this place!

Great food but sad to say it does not compare to my mother in laws food... Gryo was good, not so crazy about the tostones

I was going to try Sonia's patties before the Dolphin's game but it was closed. Fortunately I found this place a bay away from Sonia's. I picked up a menu and wanted to try their food. They just recently opened about 2 months ago. Its a nice small place, family owned and you can tell that by walking in. It has the island feel with music playing and lovely wood carvings, paintings, and pictures on the wall. I think it is Haitian food but I'm not too sure. The food was cooked to order so you have to wait a bit. I ordered the goat curry, it came with a good amount of mixed rice (rice and white beans i think), three pressed plantains like tostones, and a small salad with lettuce, onions, tomato, and avocado. I also tried their meat puffy patties. I was happy I found this place and got a good lunch. The curry had a good spice to it, but not overpowering. The goat meat was tender and the rice was really good. I could have just mixed in the curry with the rice and I would have been content with it. The meat patties were fresh. They brought it out a few minutes before I got all my food. It was crispy and crunchy. I wish they had more meat inside the patty because that would be made it even better. I like my patties meatier. This is a place I will come back again to try all the other food. While I was waiting for my stuff people came in and ordered soup. It wasn't on the menu so I'm curious to try it. The people here were really nice and friendly. On their takeout menu it says "Our Mother's kitchen" with a beautiful lady on their logo. That same lady came out from the kitchen and brought out some food. Now that is the meaning of family owned. Next up for me is trying their creole grilled conch, bbq spare ribs and the mysterious soup.

I visited this restaurant on Sunday afternoon. It has a nice look & feel to it. It has a lot of Haitian artwork on the walls. And they are also selling some of the art. It is a tight space with limited seating. I also noticed what appeared to be wedding center pieces on the tables. The flowers were fresh and beautiful but I couldn't help but think that they got them from a wedding they catered to recently lol. The food was okay. Not the best Haitian food but def not the worst either. I had fried turkey (tassot), mushroom rice, Haitian salad, plaintains & picklizs (spicy stuff). I noticed a few of the customers had ordered the soap as well as the fruit juice there. They appeared to be popular items. There were approximately 15-20 people eating between the inside & outside area. The owner and staff seemed a bit frazzled and unorganized. The staff was very attentive though & asked me every minute if I was okay & if there was anything else I needed. When I went to pay, the card machine was not working & I had to use a non-bank ATM at the laundry mat next door; I wasn't happy about that since I was charged $2 at the ATM & another fee from my bank for using a non-bank ATM. Also, water is NOT free here, I repeat water is NOT free. They charge $1 for water. The price of the food here is cheap & you get A LOT of food for your money. I've experienced better but it def isn't the worst. The price & location in Southern Dade pushed this rating to 3. There are not a lot of Haitian restaurants down by Kendall believe it or not lol

We found this place by accident. We were looking for a Jamaican Restaurant & found out that the Jamaican was not a restaurant at all. We drove around and found Dadou's Restaurant. I was not familiar with Haitian food, but I ordered the red snapper cooked with sea salt, sour orange and hot pepper. You have a choice of mild or hot...no medium. My husband had the Griot with picliz. It's basically deep fried chunks of pork, again served mild or hot sauce. We were surprised how good the food was. Everything was very authentic! The only downside was how long it takes the food to come out, but good food takes time. I would not dine in here if you are in a rush, but you can call ahead if you want it to go.

My husband and I were on our way to get a burger and we saw this small family restaurant. The don was really nice and his mom makes the food from scratch. Best Hatian place I have found. I f you want a tummy full of deliciousness go here. We got lunch and to portions were huge and not expensive. I got a salt cod stew with cabbage that was was not salty or fishy...super tender with greens...and the rice cooked the beans...which are the best bar none ever...no Caribbean rest. yet can top them. My husband got the pork chunks which were tender and not fatty. We are definitely going back for one of their enticing dinners!

Two stars because the fried plantains were okay and the gentleman seemed nice. I tried the chicken which came with a salad, rice and beans and plantains. The chicken was good and tasty. Till I found a hair in it! When I first saw that they serve real salad like field greens as opposed to iceberg lettuce I was happy :) but when I dug in I noticed most of the leaves were rotted and dark green. Probably one of my biggest pet peeves. Whenever I make a salad I make sure to go leaf by lead to make sure none of that awful green soggy stuff is all over. Hate that taste! Besides just okay food let me tell you about the service. I waited 25 minutes for a place mat, silverware and water. They only have two people working here and they are both in the back. Mind you, when I went was a Wednesday late afternoon, not even a little busy. To top off this horrendous experience, I had to get up to look for them and pay at the counter and I see 3 cans of roach spray sitting there! Under any circumstance should that be visible to any customer! Made my stomach turn! Never again!

the food here is Fair, some dishes are better than others. My recommendations are the following A- Chicken creole, and B- fried goat, I've had the Griot, and it is pretty much bland for a Haitian fried pork chunks. Had a lot better. It is a nice small bistro, that was owned by the woman in the picture, but, she moved back to Haiti and sold it to another Haitian couple. I would rate this as a C+. Friendly staff, limited menu, food is cooked to order so it takes some time. There are a lot of paintings and sculptures on the wall for sale, giving it a tropical feel, withHaitian music playng in the background. At the time when Le Lambi (conch) was in operation I would only go there, but they have been closed after a fire took place and have yet to reopen :( 2 yrs.
