My husband and I heard about this hole in the wall (right next to a laundry mat) and decided to give it a try. Well worth it! Huge portions, cheap prices, and no frills, but who cares because everything was delicious. A lot of people call in their orders and pick them up, but we ate at one of the two tables outside (there are also several stools at the counter). We ordered the shrimp fried rice and the sweet & sour chicken. The owner is 100% Cuban and also 100% Chinese, so there were also tostones on the menu, LOL. Everything was super tasty except for the eggroll, which I thought was just "meh" but my husband liked. Bottom line: tasty dishes, enormous portions, and our entire meal including sodas came to less than $25. You can't beat that!

If you're in the mood for greasy Chinese food, this place is perfect. But warning: do NOT go on a 1st 2nd or 3rd date here. Major hole in the wall but pretty awesome find nonetheless.

Great Cuban Chinese food..nothing fancy just a hole behind the Mary laundromat but fresh, family food...owner cooking, wife taking orders....awesome hangover classic "sopa china especial" with the egg! Mmmmmmm! Sillky broth, pork, shrimp, wonton and noodles....Bring any party zombie back to life!

Restaurant inside of a store. Fresh, homemade and kind. Good sized portions. Great prices.

I think the lady in the front is very charming, the two old Chinese chefs working in the kitchen are very charming, and the hard-to-find hole-in-the-wall nature of the restaurant is also very charming... Unfortunately all this charm hyped up my expectations of a home-cooked style hearty Chinese meal -- only to be let down in the end. Don't get me wrong. The food wasn't TERRIBLE, it was just definitely not four star material. We didn't come on a super busy night and given that this restaurant is takeout only, we expected the service to be at least average speed. We were in a hurry to pick up our food and leave but the lady in the front was extremely slow in giving us our food, even though it was prepared and ready to go. She took her time to casually chat with other customers and answer the phone while we had been sitting there for over 30 minutes, and our food spent a good 10 minutes sitting on the counter ready to be picked up, but we were unable to do so because she was unavailable in getting the check. We ordered: - Pepper steak: flavoring was good, but the beef was extremely rough - Shrimp chowmein: shrimp tasted a bit "fishy" and not super fresh, and the chowmein is actually not stir-fried noodles... Rather, they make a gooey shrimp and veggie stir fry for you to pour over crispy noodles served in a bag. Perhaps this is the preferred method by some, but I was quite taken aback that the dish I had ordered wasn't what I expected - Chinese special soup: The shrimp and wontons in this were ok, chicken and bbq pork were both dry and stale - Honey chicken: All the sauce collected on the bottom so the top pieces had no honey flavor, and the bottom pieces were drenched. If this had been more evenly distributed, the flavor would actually be quite nice. Overall, the service was friendly, and the place had a very charming appeal, but the food was slightly below Panda Express quality. I hate to write a bad review because it seems like such a charming family operated small restaurant, but the food was simply not up to par and the service was really slow.

This place is about as simple as it gets and its hours are limited -- none at all on Monday or Tuesday; otherwise 4-9 except weekends 1-9. It is take out Chinese, with a Latin flavor, but they have a counter and a few small tables too (mostly to wait for your food I think). It is always busy because the food is super inexpensive, quite good and prepared to order, in front of you in an open kitchen.

So I am always on a quest for cheap and tasty food. This place hits the mark. If you are from latin america or ever been to south america, you'd know what a Chifa is. This is basically a chifa. Chifas are chinese restaurants with latin flavor. This place is hard to find (its got a red awning i think, next to a coin laundry), but worth it. Where else can you get freshly cooked fried rice, lo mein, chow mein, etc. for $4.25/pint. Seeing as there are no chinese places in coconut grove itself, this is and chef tian's on lejeune are the only options for chinese take out nearby. I'd recommend calling ahead and ordering. (I'll post the menu here) and then stopping to pick it up, as parking is limited (shared w/the laundromat). Food is tasty, not award winning/blow your mind good, but great considering its inexpensive.

This is a hole in the wall for sure. I've eaten here many many times. They do their chinese food their way almost in front of you. La China takes your order, no need to tell her your name; she knows everybody that ever eats there. Sometimes she even knows what you want . Value wise the short menu is hard to beat. Don't come here for Ma-po tofu or Tso's chicken it's just a chifa menu like someone else said here. Study the hours and save that phone on the contact list you'll use it.

Bradshaw...how are you able to find places like this? Seriously, it's a tiny 4 seat counter front and overhead awning with no sign. no visible menu except a tiny takeout sheet of paper...yet there seems to be a crowd of regulars. place is attached to a laundromat, and parking is a hassle. ever wondered how an egg roll translates in espanol? think croquetas chinas i had the lo mein con "carne ahumada" ingredients included the usual water chestnuts, bamboo shoots, celery, etc. if you ever crave cheap wok stir fried arroz frito or chop suey, then this is your place. definitely the menu is about as basic as you can get, at least everything is prepared on the spot. cheap means a pint order is $4.15-4.95 with rice

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
