All this time living so close to this place and I just tried it for the first time! Shame on me for not having it before. I ordered carne asada and pupusas. The carne asada is some of the best I have had in a while. I definitely have a new favorite. The person who took my order was professional and courteous. The order got to my house quickly. I will be ordering more deliciousness soon.
The best accidental discovery ever!!!! After a disappointing visit to a local Cuban coffee shop down the road we found this place with the help of our trusty Yelp app. AMAZING food, the friendliest service you can get, great prices and generous portions. I can't wait to go back to have more of everything. The chips and salsa are incredible (best salsa I have ever had, much more flavorful than Mexican salsa), fried fish was perfect, empanadas were yummy, and the hubby sure did grub on his pork dish (so not Kosher!!). Mmmmmm, my mouth is watering!

Love the food here but only giving them 4 stars because every time I order for delivery I always get some idiot to deliver the food. My building is gated but there is a gate that opens by hand that is always wide open; how do they miss it? I don't know. Last time I ordered, the delivery guy calls me and tells me he's outside but doesn't know how to get in. I tell him, I wait and nothing. Called him back and he says he went to deliver another order and that he'll be back. I seriously don't know where they hire these fools.

Like my stars say I am a fan! Huge fan of this restaurant for many reasons. The service is great, after a while they will remember you and start to treat you like family! The even remember what I order every time I am there. On the other hand, you cannot beat those prices... Dinner for two for less than $20.00....unbelievable! The food is great, they have "special of the day" for less than $7.00...grilled chicken is in like $6.00 with two sides. Can beat it! You are always greeted with chips and a side of Re-fried Beans with crema ( their version of sour Cream). Great place to beat the recession blues and to have a great meal with friends...a lot of them since they have large tables that accommodate large parties... They offer delivery to near by areas, even the guy who delivers is so pleasant and has a fantastic attitude. Take a trip to El Salvador at Cabañas Restaurant and make sure you try their fruit Juices

As a native Salvadorean, trust me, I know how to identify good Salvadoran food! My favorite Salvadoran place for pupusas and cold Pilsners used to be Restaurante Centroamericano, on Flagler and 107th. But now, I make the trek out to 8th street. First of all, they have pupusas de maiz AND pupusas de arroz. Although the pupusas de arroz aren't that great, in my opinion, it is one of the only places in Miami that offers them. Their pupusas are delicious, the closest you're going to get to the 'real thing' in Miami! Their "Plato de Antojitos" is also super delicious! The steaks are good. All their plates are pretty solid. The restaurant also has a little shop where you can buy some Salvadoran artesanias, and locally produced food and music.

Chuletas entomatadas (tomato flavored pork chops) were great! Servers were nice. Only complaint: Moros were not too warm, but otherwise, everything fresh, clean place and good homemade salsa for chips! Very reasonably priced!

Delivery review- Food arrived very fast! Faster than expected, which was awesome especially because this was hangover food! Steak sandwich was delicious! Fries were yummy and fresh! We ordered the sampler, and it was very yum! And so much food!!! Could do without the coleslaw and tamale, but that's just personal preference. Will definitely be ordering again!

Coming from Brickell, I was looking for a place to eat on the outskirts of Little Havana. I had seen the sign for Cabanas several times and thought I'd finally come inside and try out their cuisine. I really like the outdoor patio along 8th street at the entrance of Cabanas. They serve Cuban coffee and various snacks through a window on the patio for those on-the-go. It's a wonderful, simple, affordable El Salvadorian diner. A quaint bar pocketed in the front corner offers a variety of beers and mixed drinks. I ordered take-out which took a long time, but it gave me the chance to explore the place. They have a neat gift shop in the back corner which has a glass display case of El Salvadorian souvenirs. I placed an order of two chicken enchiladas and only had to pay $8! The enchilada was just a light salad with grilled chicken and black beans placed on a crispy tostada, but it sure hit the spot! I'm excited to bring my friends here next time and dine inside. Thanks, Cabanas!

My wife and I just happened to be in the Little Havana area and we searched Yelp for a close restaurant and found our way here. First off we just moved from Los Angeles and we have had years and years worth of good Mexican food. However we have never had El Salvadorian food so we were kind of excited to try it. The place is fairly small and its in a little strip mall so be warned there are only 15 or so parking spots which were all full so we circled the block a couple times to find parking. Once seated we were given menus that had tons of dishes to choose from all with pictures which is always a plus. My wife ordered a Carne Asada plate and I ordered the Caldo De Rez and we both really loved our meals. The Carne Asada was served fresh off the grill with steaming rice. The steak was huge and my wife couldn't finish it and my BIG bowl of Caldo was as good as any I've ever had. The beef was perfectly tender and not rubbery as you will get from time to time. Overall our first experience was absolutely perfect. Before we left we decided to order some chicken tamale's to take home since we've never had El Salvadorian tamale's. Now this was the game changer, the next morning we ate the tamale's and they were just incredible and by far the best we've ever had. They were very moist and not all dry and they were just stuffed with chicken and bursting with flavor. They were so good that we went back a few days later and ordered 30 more and took them to a party at the park where they went quick. Having lived in Los Angeles our entire lives we've eaten a million tamale's but these were hands down the best we've ever had. I might add the place is not expensive at all.

Can't say enough about this small restaurant. The food is excellent in taste and quantity as well as price. However, I would advise for better service. Sometimes the waitress seems to be overwhelmed but other than that it's very good.

Been a happy loyal Cabañas customer for over a year, but recently lost me as a customer. The food is very tasty and feels like a homecooked meal, very affordable as an any day of the week option. However recently they struck out: 1st Strike: Spoiled carne asada 2nd strike: A piece of a metal scrubbie got stuck in my wife's throat, and that was really bad. However we still refused to fire Cabañas. 3rd Strike: ordered to go, and got our order in a Pollo Tropical box...that just completely does it. If they are not even buying their own foam containers (which are already the cheapest you can buy, usually about 6 or 7 cents per piece), then I don't even want to know what they are trying to save money on. Probably on metal scrubbies and proper refrigeration... I'm sorry Cabañas, you're out...

I live really close and as a Salvadoran, I'm always craving Pupusas; however the service and delivery never cease's to disappoint, it's always slow, very bad customer service and confusing bill. The waitress' always have an attitude, the food is what could save this place. The pupusas are great and the Atol De Elote that they make on Sundays is really great. I've gotten delivery here twice and both times the guy got lost, it usually takes them an hour to get it together ( I live ten blocks away ) but the delivery guys are sweet. Last time I went they took around 45 minutes to bring out the food then overcharged us and didn't apologize about the hassle. I gave it too many tries, I'm done.

Bad customer service. I ordered churrasco using eat24. They did not have it so I had to order something else. What I wanted was $2 over. I asked her if it was okay to be over $2, since the inconvenience of not having what I originally paid for. She got really annoyed and started breathing hard and angry over the phone. She said okay after all of that. I don't think they are used to higher end clients. If you are going to be delivering to Brickell step your customer service up.

Really 3.5 stars. For the price you can't beat it! We started off with a pupusa, it was quite yummy -mostly bean could have had more cheese and pork as described in menu, for dinner I had $7 grilled fish filet special with Gallo Pinto & Fried cheese ($1 extra) & my hubby had the palomilla with rice & red beans also $7, all in all good size for price and taste was good as kwell. Would totally go back if in area, great little place we stumbled upon.

Hi Loves, Cabanas Food From El Salvador. I discovered this place with my boyfriend years ago and we became instant fans. The food there is good and easy on your pocket. The service there is excellent, always attentive staff. They maintain a friendly atmosphere.. I love how they have the chips and salsa at your table just seconds upon your arrival. The food is good, distant size portions. To top it off they deliver to our apartment which makes it even better.

This was our last stop with our in-laws on our way to the airport and after a disappointing attempt of a breakfast at a different restaurant, we saved up a appetite for what we didn't know would be one of the best meals we've had! From the chips and salsa to pupusas to the carne asada, everything was just so satisfying. It's been a long time since I've been somewhere where every single food item queches your craving. And who can go wrong with a bucket of beer or two. :) The service was great too; attentive and friendly and what I loved most is that the would teach what to say in Spanish - but in a nice way. Absolutely loved the place...can't wait until the next time we are in Florida!

As half Salvadorean and Honduran, I occasionally give in to my inner-beaner, craving typical fare such as pupusas, baleadas, yuca con chicharron and tamales. I've gone to places like El Atlakat (many locations, but usually the one off of NW 7th St), La Pupusa Factory off Flagler and a handful of others. There's an amazing place in Oakland Park (Broward) called Taqueria y Antojitos El Guanaco, but that is much too far of a trek for me. So tonight, this craving hit me like a brick wall. Having moved to the area recently, Cabañas caught my eye as I'd drive toward I-95. I decided to try this place out. SO GLAD I DID. The waitress that assisted me was awesome. Very knowledgeable, laid back, great personality. Restaurant was very clean. It has a nice outdoor area and there's a little spot inside where you can buy music, clothes, etc. Ordered an horchata to drink, which was interestingly not gritty (not sure if that's good or bad yet lol), and received complimentary tortilla chips with a super fresh salsa and refried beans on the side. Had a baleada con carne, which was the size of my face... or bigger. I ate nearly the entire thing in 20 minutes. The spicy pickled veggies are perfect - I'm a sucker for the carrots in particular. It was exactly what my inner-beaner wanted, and I was very happy. Ordered two pupusas con loroco to go, and when I came home, was pleasantly surprised to see them separated by parchment paper so that they wouldn't get stuck together. Nibbled on a small piece and was happy - tortilla was not crazy thick and the cheese had that lovely loroco aroma to them. I will gladly eat them tomorrow for breakfast (don't judge me!). This is the kind of place I would bring a friend to try out Central American food for the first time. Food is great, attentive service - a rarity in latin restaurants, comfortable ambiance, and overall quality "soul food".

I had to wait until the guilt of eating the all-too-fried sampler to wane before writing this review. Now, that that's gone -- I feel great about the yummy fried goodness from Cabanas!! Everything that your excess-loving heart desires is in the sampler we ordered that delightful night. It has chicharron, chunks of meat, a tamal, pupusas, and yuca frita. Everything was delish. It took a little long to get our food especially since they are less than a hop, skip and a jump away.

Comparisons to the nearby Pupusa Factory are inevitable. Bottom line: Pupusa Factory still makes better pupusas, but Cabanas is the overall winner. It's simple, but clean dining room is filled with locals. The menu has all the Salvadoran and Honduran classics and prices are unbeatable - I had a pupusa revuelta (everything on it) chicken fajitas (which do NOT come with tortillas) with your choice of sides. I picked the pico de gallo (not as good as Los Ranchos), and tostones (OK). Service was great. Fresh-squeezed OJ to down it all and the check was $12. I hear they also make a mean Baleado de carne. Free chips w/ frijole sauce, crema and fresh salsa.

I'm always surprised to find these decent places just out of the blue. Stopped by this Salvadoreno place for a pupusa de revuelta y chicharron, also baleada con carne, and tamal de gallina. all were good, except the carne in the baleada was a little too thick and chewy. they also happen to sell other general store stuff in the restaurant such as horchata mix and some cinnamon cookies.

If I wasn't in a rush and worried about missing a flight this probably would be a 4 star. The chips and salsa were so fresh and tasty. Fiancé got meat empanadas and chicken quesadilla which I devoured probably half of. The empanada was still piping hot 10min after it came out, I got the salvadorian steak and it did not disappoint. The meat was "cheap" but very flavorful and the sauce was very rich. Excellent meal. It did take a little while for our food to come out I thought, but again I was rushing.
