Make reservations! I went here last night and we were lucky to get a table. When we called they said they were fully booked from 6 to 10. The food is absolutely worth the wait if you do have to end up waiting for a table. We ordered the mango curry chicken, tandoori chicken, garlic naan, and paneer naan. We shared everything which is the best way to go if you want to try a variety of things. Everything was absolutely fantastic! The mango curry sauce was so delicious that I was even dipping my naan in it. They also served rice with the dishes and it was some of the best seasoned rice I have ever had! Also, the wine was very good! Our table ordered the Resiling. It was very good and well prices! Service is also incredible! This place is great for a night out and afterwards you can enjoy walking around Cocowalk.

There's always someone, something or some place that stands far above the rest. For instance, Kim K. need not speak, she only needs to appear in public with those curves to mesmerize America and the world. She's not only a colossus in media, but she's defined a new standard of beauty & sex appeal in western civilization. Then you have Paris, the city of all cities, an embodiment of Neoclassic art & architecture, a terrestrial heaven of wine & fine dining. Like no other Paris has become the avatar of romance, eroticism and love. Then you have Bombay Darbar, the crown jewel of Indian cuisine in Miami. Unlike the majority of Indian restaurants locked into Hindu/Jain themes. Bombay Darbar has strayed off of the path of the expected, and created a dark ambiance of Zen Buddhism. True to its dimly lit Modernesque design, time stops and the evening consummates into a night of courtship and platonic discussion. bit.ly/1JWdZQC bit.ly/1JWe3Qd Being the Noble that I am, I decided to treat my friend Stephania who was relocating back to Ecuador to one last special dinner in Miami. Not that I've been to Bombay before, but I have seen the place as I've driven by a few times and the Yelp star ratings are irresistible. Upon arriving we were informed it would be about a 20 minute wait, I really don't like waiting so we decided to dine at the bar instead. I can't remember the name of the bartender but this dude redefined the meaning of excellent bar service. I was generally overall impressed with the service at the restaurant, even the hostess with the English accent came back to check on us and inquire of our well being. But the bartender was on a whole different level of service, dude was well versed on the menu, and had some very interesting recommendations based upon what we were looking for. Ordered: Using two straws we shared a Mango lassi $3.45. It was sweet, thick and heavenly to the touch. The taste was so rich I wouldn't be surprised if it was made from a recently picked ripe mango. I'm not sure what I enjoyed more the lassi or drinking it simultaneously with eyes locked with the attractive Ecuadorian. bit.ly/1JWcCkR 5 STARS This was the steal of the night...the Papadum (complimentary). This appetizer is absolutely delicious and its free! The bartender saw how much we enjoyed it and brought out another serving of it. bit.ly/1JWcMJ3 5 STARS We also both ordered a glass of wine, I don't remember what she ordered but I had the Cabernet Sauvignon 337 Napa $6.95. All I can say is Voilà , there's nothing like drinking the ambrosia of the Gods. 5 STARS The Tandoori chicken - $11.95(half) was the disappointment of the night. I found it to be rather dry and bland, void of the true palatial spices characteristic of Indian dishes. The bartender noticed my displeasure and offered to bring some special yogurt based sauce to go along with it. The sauce did help and made it much more palatable. 3 STARS We also shared an order of Vegetable samosa's - $4.95, they very aromatic and earthy, perfectly fried. The tamarind dip was delicious, it was a perfect marriage with the samosas we truly enjoyed this. 5 STARS The Ecuadorian ordered mango chicken curry $.? . I've never had this dish before, but this might be one of the top 3 gravy based chicken dishes I've ever had. The spices and mango flavor perfectly complimented each other. The Ecuadorian left nothing behind, not even the gravy. 5 STARS Service: Our water glasses were constantly filled and service was an all around pleasant experience. 5 STARS Parking: There is indoor parking lots on both Rice st. & Virginia St., there is also metered parking along Virginia st. & Oak ave. Pluses: ++Nothing is cooked in Trans fat. ++I would definitely make a reservation as this place gets filled quickly. Believe it or not my bill for both of us came out to $51.00 for two, Plus I added a $10 tip. I was really expecting to spend around $100, I'm really surprised of the affordability of such a classy high end restaurant.

Food was exquisite!! Nice atmosphere, however we got there 1 hour before they closed and the waiter rushed us to order which I found a little rude, that was why I gave 4 stars.. Other than that great place for a date night!!!

Five stars because I find myself craving Bombay Darbar ALL. THE. TIME. I've written two reviews of their old location so I'll keep this short and sweet. Even though the space is a LOT bigger, you still need reservations. We were lucky enough to score one the day of on a Saturday night but by the sound of the girl's voice on the phone, we were cutting it close. Unlike the old spot, this one has a full bar lining one wall that you can sit at, along with plenty of tables. The staff has grown and many are still learning the ways. I'm sure it'll be smooth in no time. Go to dishes include the samosas, garlic naan, palak paneer, chicken tikka masala and chana masala, but on our last visit, we switched it up with the lamb masala. I think we asked for mild but they were on FIRE. Word to the wise. We (almost) always have leftovers and that's always the highlight of my next day. While the bustling and intimate feel of the old restaurant might be missed, I'm happy to see this local biz thriving in the Grove!

You can smell the amazing food from the sidewalk as you're walking in. The restaurant is located across the street from The Mayfair in Coconut Grove with a parking garage and metered parking within walking distance. Service was okay considering it was a Friday night and the place was extremely busy. Our server unfortunately mixed up the orders and were not put into the kitchen correctly causing confusion with who ordered what in certain spice levels. I had the buttered chicken cooked in medium spice level and although it was full of flavor and delicious, it lacked in the spice department. It was a pleasant experience overall considering the dish mixup and the wait time.

Best Indian cuisine in town. New location. Try the naan bread w the Chana masala. The shrimp tandoori will amaze you, and the boneless lamb will melt in your mouth. Dishes come w a side of basmati rice that's also delicious.

This rating is for the food only. My wife and I were visiting Miami beach and took the taxi to come to Bombay Darbar because we were craving Indian food and heard so many good things about this place. Our server was nice and made an effort to make it better by bringing us ice cream and apologizing at the end but the food just didn't live up to the hype. The main entrees were brought out without the 2 naans we ordered. There was a good runner going to the table next to us asking them if they ordered two naans. I'm guessing those were ours because when we eventually got them they were not warm to touch. My wife complained about them and the manager brought us out one fresh naan and took the two old naans away. The manager later came back with two additional naans and said they were on the house. These naans were the same two he originally took back just reheated and rebuttered. I am Indian and grew up eating Indian food so I know when I am being given old naan. We ordered the butter chicken and saag paneer and both the chicken and paneer were tough and rubbery to eat. We never got the paaper which the menu clearly stated came with the main dish. The table next to us got them as soon as they sat down but we never did. We also never received the onions we requested when we ordered our food. We were told by our hotel that this place had the best Indian food in Miami and if that is the case I feel sorry for the people in this city. The server was great though. I really appreciated the effort he put in. This rating is for the food only.

This restaurant is nothing short of fantastic: consistently authentic, delicious Indian food is served up here 6 days a week (closed Tuesdays). The restaurant is in a new, larger location as of 2015, and any concerns that the change of venue was going to diminish the quality of the food or service have been put to rest. In fact, I think the move has made the experience even better. The staff/service are excellent, which is hard to come by in Miami. I can say that I genuinely like the people who work here, to the point that I am actually happy for their growing success. Do call ahead and make a reservation unless you're comfortable just sitting at the bar (beer & wine only). The place is always busy. There is a good chance that you will not be able to get a table at all on any given night without a reservation ... or, you could just order takeout (allow for 45 minute prep time on busy nights). Every entree I've eaten here I've liked. I tend to favor the lamb and fish dishes over chicken. Favorites: masala lamb chops, channa masala (garbanzos in spices/sauce), mushroom masala, fish curry, lamb vindaloo (spicy), and tandoori chicken. The naan is a delight as well. I recommend at least a little heat in your dishes because it simply adds to the complexity of many wonderful flavors already at play. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The real deal...Have been going for 4 years since i have been in the MIA. During that time I have taken friends, family and clients here. The food is the real deal and the location (old and the new), customer service and ambience leaves nothing to be desired. In all honesty I am yet to hear anyone I know say anything but the best about this place.

I can see why this place is always packed. Their food is flavorful, reasonably priced and the service friendly. The complimentary lentil crackers are a nice touch, especially since they're gluten-free. The dips were too sweet, which was a recurring theme throughout our meal. Too much sugar, not enough salt. I also found the dishes too sauce heavy. Maybe that's authentic and as it should be, but it's just not my cup o'tea. I couldn't decide whether I was eating a stew or a thick soup. My veggie dumplings were delicious but completely smothered in this creamy sauce. I could hardly taste the dumplings. Even the rice pudding was more of a milky soup with rice in it. Nice flavor but way too liquid. And a kiddie portion. No brown rice. Brown basmati rice is so much nuttier and more fragrant than white basmati and should be an option, if not the norm. I would happily pay extra for it. The best dish we had were the chickpeas. Not smothered in sauce for a change. Overall, these are the type of dishes that are easy to make at home. Chickpea stew doesn't take finesse, just patience. Or a pressure cooker. You may find these at an Indian home but it's not fine dining nor is it creative. Just simple authentic food.

Bombay darbar is our favorite Indian restaurant in Miami. I have tried many entrees and all of them were great . Mango lassi is one of the favorite item . Regular Indian dishes like chicken tikka masala ,paneer makhani were great too . Earlier place was a bit smaller , but they have moved much bigger and fancier place now . All in all if you are looking for upscale Indian dining experience ( there are not too many ! ) Bombay Darbar is the place .

Checking out the new location and I definitely see some growing pains. Service was slow and the flavor of the food is gone. I ordered the Chicken Korma and Butter Chicken which were my favorites at the old place. Today I was convinced something was wrong with my tastebuds. Food was cold and bland. Hopefully this is temporary, but won't be coming back anytime soon.

I'm puzzled by the lines and the crowds at this place. The food is decent but not exceptional. The chicken pieces kept wanting to dissolve into the sauce and it was too sweet. Servings are tiny and it's pricey. Service is downright terrible from the guy who picks up the phone and puts you on hold for 15 minutes to the general attitude of the staff. Considering options available in the Miami area such as Ayesha in Key Biscayne (not affiliated to them in any way), this is not a good option at all. Will not be back.

So, after mourning the loss of House Of India and having a bad experience at Mint Tea Brasserie, I was determined to find some good Indian food. I am happy to report, I have found a new favorite! Bombay Darbar is awesome! I celebrated my birthday here last night and everything was perfect! We ordered a bottle of wine, tandoori wings (appetizer), chicken korma, gajar halwa (dessert), and masala chai tea! Everything was devine. The papadam was fresh and crispy and served with two delicious sauces! The wings were juicy and finger licking good! The Korma was tender and flavorful! The service was excellent from start to finish. They re-corked our leftover wine, and gave me extra rice to take home with my leftovers! I can't wait to return! Next time I will try the samosas and the chicken tikka masala as the chicken is highly recommended on Short Order (New Times food blog). Edited 5/4/11...It's only been a week, but I had to go back! Tonight, I tried the Crab Samosas, Onion Kulcha (bread), and the Shrimp Biryani! Delish! Everything was tasty, and again, we had excellent service! I am going to have to introduce all my friends to this fantastic place! Edited 5/29/15...So I recently dined at the new location on Florida Avenue! It's nice and spacious! No more sitting on top of strangers and being bumped into by the staff! The service was a little rushed as I guess they are still in that habit from being in the small location. Go and have a nice relaxing meal in the new place! You won't regret it! Some of my favorite dishes are the butter chicken, chicken korma, fish Goan curry, shrimp Goan curry, tandoori wings (appetizer), and onion kulcha (bread)! The pistachio ice-cream and the chai masala tea are always a perfect way to end a perfect meal! Unfortunately, I'm not so fond of the samosas here! 99% of the menu is awesome!

They recently moved to larger location. The reservation doesn't tell you that even though they are booked, there is plenty of bar siting if you come early. Anne at the bar is a gem! Avoid the pakoras (too greasy) and yogurt and mango chutney sides. The complementary dips however are excellent! The garlic naan, lamb ghost and chicken vindaloo were great. Generous portions and good value. Great service too! So far best Indian in Miami. Coming back!

I love Bombay Darbar. This was my first time at their new location. The place is amazing. WHAT a difference! This place has a bar that runs the entire length of one of the walls, trendy decor, not to mention it's HUGE. It's easily 8 times larger than before. The food was excellent, as always. The service, however, went way down. We had a reservation, so being seated wasn't the issue. We waited FOREVER to have our order taken. We actually had to flag down the waiter. After that, it literally took an hour and a half to get our food. I honestly can't even decide if it's worth returning after my experience. The previous location was so quaint and the service was always impeccable. - This may be a non sequitur, but when we sat down we immediately ordered wine. I didn't have to even look at the menu. I know what they have and I know what I like. The waiter heard my order, basically disregarded my request and immediately tried to sell me a bottle of Stag's Leap Vineyards Artemis. Um, no. I ended up ordering four bottles of the wine I asked for.

What a gem this place is and love that it's right around the corner from work. They are only open Thurs-Sun for lunch and Weds-Sun for dinner. Great service and really delicious food. The chicken wing appetizer is delicious, but it only comes with 4 so you may be fighting over it depending on how many people are at your table. Veggie Pakoras were good, but I think the batter could be lighter. For our main entrees, we had the Chicken Tikka Masala - traditional and exactly what I expected, Lamb Vindaloo - just the right amount of spice/heat which was perfect, and the mango chicken curry. The naan was light and fluffy and rice was delicious as well. Love that you can get King Fisher beer here too! Great service and very good food - I'll definitely be back!
(4)Maha R.
I could not believe the rush that came in. We had a reservation at 6pm (the time they open) on a Sunday and by 645 every single table and the entire bar was full! The new location is very nice and spacious, despite being so full it didn't feel crowded. Food was extremely good. Not swimming in grease like some Indian restaurants. There's almost too much on the menu, we wanted to try so many things. Definitely will be going back to explore some more options.
(4)Shazza M.
If you have ever had Indian food in London you will be familiar with the tastes and offerings of Bombay Darbar. The move to the new location means less problems getting a seat, and more room to spread out at your table compared to the last location. I recommend everything I have eaten here, and a highlight is the mattar paneer, great for vegetarians. They offer to cook mild, medium or spicy, and have found this can vary from visit to visit so if you are intolerant to very spicy food go with Mild.Last visit was for takeout, quality was just as good, and Naan bread was still warm and not soggy like some other places. Service is attentive, accommodating and professional.
(5)Patty T.
Ohhh wow. We had a party of 10 and the food never stopped coming. We all tried each others plates and let me say that I loved it all. The bar area seems like a great happy hour bar to come back to. Also the decor inside is very luxurious. Great ambiance and great food.
(5)Elaine Z.
Yum... I think Bombay Darbar has set the bar for excellence in regards to Indian food. I'm very pleased with the new location after noting the old location was a bit more low on space. While I had an equally tasty experience my first time, the decor of the new establishment and roominess enhanced the second trip by far. Previously, I had been lucky to walk in and get a table for four, but even though the new place is larger, I would still recommend calling to make a reservation. The food is just great, I had chicken tikka masala each time with garlic naan and received compliments on my leftovers the next day. I've also had the tandoori wings appetizer - they are small but delicious. I may venture back and try something new the next time, but the classics remain fabulous. Previously, we had a bit of trouble with splitting the check as the waiter became confused and a bit agitated when we requested different checks. This time, we were all very pleased with how accommodating the waiter was and he produced 4 separate checks for each of us. I virtually do not have any negative feedback to say after this most recent experience. Highly recommend.

I've been searching for delicious Indian food in the South Florida area and I think I have found my spot. This location is fairly new since they moved from a smaller location not too far from this one. I absolutely love the decor and how friendly the staff are when you enter the restaurant. I'll admit that the waiters still need more training in checking up on customers. But that will come with time and experience. My friend and I ordered garlic naan, vegetable samosas, chicken biryani, aloo paratha, tandoori chicken tikka and mango lassi. Everything we ordered was flavorful and on point. If you can't tell by now I love to eat and venture out by trying new things. Overall a good experience for a Friday night. I would recommend making reservations beforehand because they get really packed. I'll be back whenever I'm in the Coconut Groove area.
(5)Rocio P.
Excellent dinner night at their new, bigger location. We went on a Saturday night and it was completely packed. Yet, their service was fast and the food was delicious. I raved all night about the sauces we tried with our appetizers. The "green" one with herbs, cilantro, cumin and other spices should be bottled. The aromatic basmati rice and the butter chicken are the happiest marriage of flavors in your mouth, although I can eat that rice alone and still feel pretty happy. My wine was delicious as well. Everything is inviting to enjoy Indian delicacies in this place. The bronze bowls they use to serve the food are so pretty you feel like taking them home after leaking the sauce off it. And the tiled floors in the area we were seating are so beautiful! For all the food, great service and quality experienced, the prices felt right and we'll definitely visit again.

I want to start off by saying that Ralf (my German better half) LOVES Indian food and has visited India on several occasions so the man knows good Indian food when he has it and last night, he had it! I had bookmarked this place a while back but had not gotten a chance to visit. A lot of the Yelp reviews for their old location warned about the small restaurant and needing reservations. Now that they are in a new locale, I thought "Eh, we'll be fine, I hear it's bigger." Well, I was wrong! Yes, it is bigger, but the line was outside the door! I was already excited knowing that this place really had to be as good as I had heard. I decided to make my way through the hungry crowd to see if there was a bar area and lo and behold, there was! And as luck would have it (thank you Buddha!) there were 2 seats available right smack at the center of their long and beautiful bar area. I quickly planted my butt on a seat and signaled over to Ralf. Ha! Like I said, this place was super busy but luckily, we had Scott, who I can only described as the NICEST and most ATTENTIVE bartender I have ever had the pleasure of being served by. We waited quite a bit for him to take our drink order as he had a bar hand but no other bartender helping him out but when he finally got to us, he was all smiles, apologetic, and although Ralf wasn't planning on a beer, he gave him one due to the wait! How freaking sweet and awesome is that? So we were having our drinks, chatting it up, admiring the décor (the ornate ceiling is really beautiful) and enjoying our evening, We placed our food order and eagerly awaited as our senses were already being assaulted by all of the aromas emanating from the kitchen. We ordered the whole wheat Naan bread and the Chicken Tikka Masala (Medium Hot) and it was soooo good! It was cooked to perfection and it had just the right amount of spice to it and the medium hot was just perfect. It had quite a kick to it but nothing you can't handle. The sauce was thicker than others I have had in the past so I suspect there was some cream in there which would explain why it tasted so decadent and delicious. The Whole Wheat Naan was sweet and complimented the sauce perfectly. An order comes with only 2 pieces but that was ok because we had the Basmati Rice as well which was more than enough for us. The food, décor, atmosphere and more importantly, the SERVICE (Thank you Scott!) was on point and will have me coming back here again and again when I am at the Grove. I was so impressed I asked to speak to the manager. I wanted to personally thank him for a great evening. Too many times people only speak up when something goes wrong - we need to speak up when things goes "right" as well! If you've never been, you gotta go and if you haven't visited their new locale, what are you waiting for???
(5)Lauren R.
Def make reservations! Amazing authentic Indian cusine!! Friendly staff and great service. We had the butter chicken, a paneer curry, naan, garlic naan and alou partha, also a chicken wing made in clay oven. Everything was spectacular. My friend is now a believer in Indian food. Prior to having she wasn't a fan. We also had a mango shake (typically had in the mornings) for dessert which was incredible! We all left very happy and full. Will def be back to try other dishes.
(5)Marilyn G.
Have been here several times but always at the old location. The new location is fantastic and the service as incredible as ever. Trying to describe the food is hopeless. At this point we've tried EVERYTHING on the menu and its all to die for. Only five stars because it is not possible to give more!!! Hands down my favorite restaurant.
(5)Katerina S.
It's become nearly impossible to get a reservation at the new location but we finally were able to snag one last week and boy, it's better than ever! The new location is much larger, more employees, and everyone is just more attentive and friendly. We were seated right away and the food come out quickly. We religiously order panner and garlic naan (indian heaven bread), mutter paneer (indian cheese in a pea gravy), chana masala (chickpeas), mushroom mahkni (mushrooms in red-ish sauce), and butter chicken. My husband loves the briyani but it's quite spicy. Every so often as a special treat to myself I order the mango lassi, which is essentially a yogurt based mango smoothie. It's delish! All the dishes have such great, complex flavors. Can't wait for our next reservation.
(5)Laurin P.
Great indian food! We haven't been in a while a were pleasantly surprised to see that they have moved to a much larger, fancier location (right around the corner). The decor inside is great, a perfect date night. The food is incredible! We ordered samosas, garlic naan, butter chicken, and chicken tikka masala...everything was fantastic! The service is great (and considering how rare that can be in Miami, it makes this place even better)! If you are a fan of Indian food, definitely come here! As everyone else has said, reservations are a must. We called around 2PM and the only times they had were 6PM or 9:45PM...so call early! It is worth the hassle though!!
(5)becca w.
I was expecting this restaurant to be something special, but the food was pretty standard. We were warned of the spice level so asked for medium (on a spice scale of 1-10) and it wasn't really spicy at all. Not a problem, but just making note of it! I ordered the cheese naan and mango chicken curry and they were both decent.. Absolutely nothing to complain about, but not much to rave about either. A good option for a semi-fancy date night, especially if you like mild Indian food.
(3)Manuel G.
Top notch in South Florida, enough said.
(5)Lauren C.
We went for lunch today, Father's Day and the food was still excellent in their new location, so 5 stars for food!!! Our waiter was good through the meal, but we left with a bad opinion of him, unfortunately. When we were paying he made a comment to my grandmother thinking she was going to pay in cash (error 1, why are you watching her go through her wallet?), then proceeded to tell her that if she paid in cash he could take his tips home with him today (error 2, wtf?). You should NEVER bring something like that up with a customer...ever. My husband got kinda annoyed by it and proceeded to comment to me about it, and the waiter actually came over to tell us what he had said in defense of his actions (error 3, why are you listening to our convo?!) My grandma always tips 20%, but not this time. We left him only the 18% that was automatically added to our bill (party of 5). Sorry, next time learn some etiquette. Hopefully the new locations doesn't mean a drop in service because we have been to this restaurant in their other location MANY times and never had any issues. ETA: Owner contacted me directly and apologized. I changed my rating because I know how good this place can be...
(4)Adriana C.
Best Indian in Miami hands down. Make sure you have a reservation though; we got there when it opened (6pm) and they were already booked until 10pm. Also, try to go with as much people as you can so that you can try a greater variety of dishes haha. Paneer naan is a must. You're welcome.
(5)Mak F.
Love love love! When we can splurge we always treat ourselves to this authentic Indian cuisine. My favorite is the chicken tikka masala. I've had the butter chicken as well and they are equally delicious! Just be sure to make your reservation a day in advance because they are always packed! The food is THAT good. Oh and be sure to order naan (plain AND garlic) to go with your meal. Such a great addition to complete the meal and you will scarf one order down so fast you will wish you had ordered two! Bon appetit!
(5)Katarina M.
Favorite restaurant ever!!! I love the new place, its bigger and the food is delicious!! This place is a must go!
(5)Ivanka K.
Excellent food and customer service. Would highly recommend this place. I would suggest making a reservation on the weekends.
(5)Carlos R.
Beware. We were a party of four (two couples). We split the check. I paid cash and the other couple paid with a debit card. The waiter brought me my change in cash; however, charged the entire bill amount on the debit card. My buddy noticed the charge and verified it online. We immediately brought it to the waiter's attention. This did not seem like a mistake, the waiter reached into his pocket and returned my money. Didn't get his name, just stay alert. Other than this act by the waiter, the food here is amazing, great restaurant. My wife and I have returned since this incident. I strongly recommend this restaurant and still give it 5 stars.

So good! The flavors are incredible. I love the vegetable samosas with mint chutney. The potato and garlic naans are delicious. Love the lamb rogan josh.

I had been looking forward to trying this place for a while even before they moved to the new location closer to my place. We barely got a reservation when I called 3 days in advance for Saturday night so clearly they are doing well. It was a bit overwhelming when we arrived. Staff were very nice but also sweaty and frantic looking, tables were taking up nearly every square foot of floor space and it was hot inside. We were seated and ordered quickly after waiter warned we would have a long wait for food. Oddly the Veg Korma and paneer came fast and were delicious! The naan portion was smallish but prices were very reasonable. I would give it 4 stars for food and service but the atmosphere was really loud, rushed and hard to relax in. I'll be back but not for date night and probably will skip Saturdays too.

Although excellent food, and waiter I'm giving this place 2 stars because of the extremely rude and unprofessional manager/owner when I was complimenting his place and his food and got extremely rude with me and started questioning me in such an insultingnmanner which made me feel like a joke. That is not the way you treat a paying customer. Apparently I guess nobody can compliment great service anymore :/

A "new" Bombay Darbar was placed in Florida Ave. and this one is just magnificent. The decor and atmosphere is very Indian style and fancy. The menu needs have more options but it was okay. I ordered a mango smoothie as you would call it. It was amazing! Then for main course, we had "grilled chicken with herbs and onions" as you say in America. Very good! It was an amazing experience! My friends also enjoyed and ordered more than enough as you see on the photo!

Loved the experience. Great price.

This restaurant is awesome. The food is delicious, and the atmosphere is relaxed and romantic. I think it's difficult to find good Indian food in Miami, but the food here is amazing. I've come here three times and ordered vegetable samosas, paneer makhani (SO GOOD!), naan, and gulab jamun. Each time, the food has been delicious. I've come with my boyfriend, my sister, and my dad, and they've each also loved their dishes. My only complaint is that it is a bit cramped and a bit expensive. Definitely make reservations! Still, I enjoy eating here and will certainly eat here again. I'd probably recommend it for a date night or for catching up with a friend. It might not be the best place to take a large group.

New fancy location, same incredible food. My girlfriend and I used to frequent the old location quite often (very often, actually. We were addicted). Indian food as a whole is like a flavor explosion in your mouth, literally awakening your senses to new tastes you didn't know existed, and in my opinion, Bombay Darbar is the king of flavor explosions. We ordered lamb Rogen Josh with a garlic naan and a cheese naan, and the food was absolutely incredible as always. We usually order the lamb briyani as well (which is the bomb dot com) but we were hitting the town after and did not want to carry around left overs. The old location was 5 stars and would have been 6 if it weren't so small and stuffy. This location is about 6 times larger and presents a more upscale vibe that offers a large beer and wine bar (soon to add liquor). So I was about to give this place 6 stars if it weren't for two things: 1) Food took about 45 minutes to come out, and 2) My girlfriend said the women's bathroom was completely out of toilet paper, and she had to go to the handicap stall to obtain paper towels as a replacement. Overall, my rating is about at 4.5. I'm sure the long cook time and unattended bathroom were a result of adjusting to a larger restaurant, so I will give them a pass. Come here if you want to experience deliciousness. If you have a mouth and taste buds then this is a place for you.

Every time I spend money on food I wonder why I didn't spend it at Bombay Darbar. This kind of cuisine caters perfectly to vegetarians, pescaterians, and carnivores alike. I highly recommend the saag paneer and the aloo gobi if you're feeling like a veg-head. For my meat lover friends, the lamb tandoori was out of this world! The lamb chops were tender and full of flavor. Enjoy! PS I suggest making reservations ahead of time (in the morning or the day before). The restaurant is very popular and fills easily!

I've been coming here for years...and it only gets better. Yes, there are a few hiccups with the new place. It's larger and so they need more servers, which we all know too well MIAMI IS A WASTELAND when it comes to getting great staff in restaurants. I do, however, have complete faith this organization will get it together fast. The food is better than ever (and it's rumored that one of their longstanding staff members has been moonlighting in the kitchen). To this I say, "Yes, yes, yes"...bang my fists on the table...push my hair off my face..."yes, yes, yesssssssss." (for those of you who don't get it - When Harry Met Sally.) This is by far one of the better Indian restaurants anywhere in the world I've eaten. And I have eaten my fair share here, there, and everywhere! Keep up the great work and keep your regulars happy! ;)

Had chicken korma and lamb rogangosh. I have tried so many Indian restaurants but this one was another level. Rich in flavor. Perfect spice. Yummmm. Felt like home food. Will be back to try other dishes. Excited :)

Best service, best food, best atmosphere, and very well priced menu. Make a reservation because the place is always packed...even at their new location. Love this restaurant...we are regulars there!

New location is great and spacious. Parking is a lot easier than before as well. Best thing.... The food is still tops among the Indian restaurants I've been to. Chicken tikka Masala, butter chicken, jasmani rice and garlic naan are perfectly made here.

Horrible, horrible, horrible, Piece of work ownership People with no scruples

We started with Paneer Naan, and had Tikka Masala, Goan style shrimp as our entree. For dessert we finished with Rice Pudding and Milk Powder Fritters/Balls in syrup. Everything was a hit. Service was excellent, from it's pace to it's attitude. I can't wait to return.

It is a definite No. First and last time. To start, glasses were dirty with huge gross pieces of food debris glued to the wall of the glasses. Then, the drinks did not come for twenty minutes until prompted. Really, how do you intend to make money, Mr. Owner, if your drinks take their sweet time to arrive? Then the butter chicken and the chicken tikka masala were SWEET SWEET SWEET. I guess is the same pre made disgusting sauce because there was ZERO offer to re-do to tone down the sweetness. Please, this is not Indian but more like "American" Indian. Go to Ayesha's for true Indian. Do not waste your time, money, or energy here. Ugh.

Worst Indian food, ever . I ordered lamb biryani ,lamb kadai and onion kulcha. The food was too greasy and they added too much color to the biryani. Spicy doesn't mean the food should be made only with chilli powder. I would never go this place again.

love love love the food here! It seems that service wise they working through a few kinks as they recently moved locations so there was a little bit of weirdness there...but food made up for it..highly recommended.

The best place for Indian in Miami hands down. This place just updated their location but the food and people are still amazing!! Don't miss out on BD if you are in Miami!

We were huge fans of Bombay Darbar in its previous location and we were worried about the owner's wisdom of moving to a much larger space. Well, after a fantastic meal served professionally by our waiter, Ruben, we are convinced the owners made a terrific decision. It is absolutely necessary to book a reservation as the new place was packed. We started with the Tandoori wings which were moist and delicious. The Tomato Shorba soup was a savory wake-up to my taste buds, a tad spicy but absolutely delicious. Our main course was the Butter Chicken and the Tandoori Lamp chops. Both were excellent. In the previous location, one had to be patient waiting for the slow arrival of one's meal. However, in the new location, the food arrived almost too quickly. All in all it was a tasty, fun dinner!

Make reservation please!!! No walk in allows on weekends. Lamb biryany, samosas, butter chicken. Delicious

Best restaurant in Miami, Coconut Grove, South Florida...you name it! The food always makes my tummy dance, my taste buds soar and my heart content! Its so good its sinful! Just thinking about it makes me hungry!! Definitely make a reservation though...

If I could give this restaurant 10 stars, I would!!! Every time I go there I can't stop ranting and raving about how amazing my dish is. I usually get the chicken korma and garlic naan. Wow!! They have great service, the quality of food and the environment deserves 2 thumbs up. Seriously...you will not be disappointed with place! Just make a reservation because their restaurant gets very busy.

I've been to a lot of Indian restaurants, this one is by FAR the best. Butter chicken is a must-try. Food and service are equally amazing; not to mention consistent. I always have a good experience here.

Love the new place and service. Same quality of food with a better ambience. New walked in on a busy Friday evening and the place was bustling with people. As we left around 1030, there were still hungry people waiting for a table. This is place for my Indian fix in Miami

My boyfriend and I just left Darbar. It was our first time at the new location and we loved it. The food, as always, was delicious. We received the best service we've had in Miami in a long time--and we go out to dinner often. The hostess Paula was under a lot of pressure, as the full restaurant had a lot of reservations and walk-ins. But Paula always had a smile on her face and did everything she could to keep the customers happy including bussing tables, adding tables, and managing the people at the door. She also checked in on us during the meal. Our server Ruben was also very professional and attentive. Our water glasses never dropped below half full before being promptly refilled by any one of an army of staff who roamed the floor. And as I said, the food was delicious--much better than most Indian food you'd find in major American cities with many more options. Can't wait to return. Important tip--make reservations.

The new location is very pleasant, the service is excellent, and business is very good there. The food is good, but not exceptional. Really great food leaves you amazed at the clarity of the flavors, individually and how they blend, how the texture(s) compliment the taste and make the meal even better. Finding one dish that is great means you have a favorite you'll want to order every time you visit. Finding a restaurant that has great flavors and textures for all the dishes at the table is like finding the Lost Dutchman Goldmine. You will never forget the restaurant. We didn't discover any great entrees here, but they were all good with a couple of exceptions. The naan was thin and dried out, but no big deal. The paneer was not the soft creamy kind, but rather spongy. The best dish was the papadum bread with the two chutneys. Unfortunately, our request for a second serving of it was ignored.

I had been the old location of Bombay Darbar many times and I was worried that a change of location would hurt the quality of food. I am happy to say that is not the case, and if anything the new space, which is both bigger and nicer, will encourage me to come more often. This occasion I went to Bombay Darbar with several of my coworkers on Thursday and I can report that even the pickiest of eaters enjoyed her food. As a big fan of Indian food, Bombay Darbar is far and away the best place for it in South Florida. Everything I have had on the menu I have enjoyed and the food has even converted many of my stubborn friends and coworkers to Indian food. This time I ordered the mango chicken curry at high medium with a side of garlic naan. It was cooked perfectly and even though it was a little pricey for lunch at $22, I personally believe it is well worth it. I can't wait to come back, especially knowing that the bigger space will mean shorter waits at dinner.
