I tried the vegetarian roti, which came out a lot bigger than I expected. The inside stuff is potato & vege paste already made. The outer layer is really full of flavor. A good cheap eat!

Great place. Super authentic, almost felt like it wasn't in the US for a moment. Staff is as spicy and saucy as the food. Great flavors and lots of fun. No cells phones allowed! Just eat.

Trinidad has always been in my heart for many reasons. One of which is the incredibly rich smell and blend of flavors and textures of a Trinidadian Roti or a Buss Up Shut. The second being the warmth of its always welcoming people. This place reminded me of my island hoping days with the usual stop at Port of Spain. Closed my eyes at LC and I was "liming" in San Fernando. If you are into Trinidadian food and want to spare the cost of travelling, then this is the place.

This is the best Roti you will get in South Florida. Counter service while they prepare each Roti wrapper fresh on the grill. For a true rarity at a South Florida Carribean Restaurant, they can serve beer and its cold.

Was in Miami on business and heard of this place from some of the workers I was training, and it was well worth it. Reminded me of my days in the Caribbean with the atmosphere in this place. Be sure and bring cash though because LC does not take cards. I got the Beef Roti and a sprite with a bottle of LC's hot sauce to take home and it was $15. My friend got the chicken Roti and it had bones in it making it a little difficult to eat so I would be cautious on getting it. The hot sauce is nuclear so be sure and get it on the side if you don't like hot stuff.

I love Roti and it is hard to find a good place so with that said, I give this place a 4 stars for that. Yes it is a hole in the wall, not the fanciest and cleanest but if you want some good Roti you go here. I usually never eat in, I order mine to go. I crave the veggie Roti and it always meets my standard. I don't go hear for conversation, or for a fancy lunch or dinner. I go here just to pick up some Roti and then I'm out. Some of the best ethnic places I've been to are always hole in the wall places. Back in Minnesota some of the best Viet places where small hole in the wall restaurants and I still find going to a small joint tends to work out. Of course, you don't want to think about too much how dirty the place could but I'm reviewing the food not the establishment. I've never had a bad experience going to this place and I'll for sure be going back.

I have had a craving for roti since a recent trip to the Caribbean islands. Thanks to the good eaters at Yelp, I just tried LC's duck and beef rotis. The roti shell was so amazing that I could have had just that alone. The meats were spicy with a hint of ginger, and the potatoes have a nice curry flavor to them. I will stick with the beef next time, as the other meats (duck, goat, and chicken) all have bones, which just slows me down! Note that the roti is even good cold later, or warmed up in the oven. The shell gets a nice crispy texture and really comes back to life. Thanks for the helpful reviews- simply delicious!

Don't be fooled by the shady strip mall. A visit to LC's is like a trip to the Caribbean. Cool Caribbean tunes play in this laid back funky-decorated spot...where they serve up freshly made Roti's stuffed with your choice of fresh curry. Grab a cold beer from the fridge, bring an appetite and get ready to enjoy on the the tastiest and cheapest meals you can have in Miami.

This place was excellent. Although I found it under false pretenses. The passenger in the car who I of course told to look at yelp for any places in the area told me this was an Indian place. If you have read my reviews in the past then you are aware I LOVE Indian food. When I pulled up and saw it said Roti Shop I looked over to him ..... -_-.... this is NOT Indian but - I LOVE ROTI! YAY Plus - the name is L.C Roti.. those are my initials - a SIGN from the heavens. They only accept cash if I remember correctly and have a strict rule of no cell phones (how will I Yelp then??) but I managed to sneak in a "check-in", ha! We both got the lamb and MAN oh Man was it good. He was afraid it was going to be too spicy but it was not. Actually, I would not have minded a bit more kick. They have, if memory serves - conch, shrimp, chicken, beef, lamb, veggies and some other items on their menu. They serve all sorts of beers and sodas from Trinidad and Jamaica. Also some from right here in the USA. The prices are great and the service also. They were very nice, cooked the roti on the spot and had survivor on tv, Ha! I am not a fan but it was part of the show where they use their money to buy food, priceless American quality tv. I just moved to the area, first home purchase - YEA! I will be coming here often. Next time maybe the conch?? stay tuned!

IGNORE ALL THE 5 STARS AND GREAT COMMENTS! The boyfriend and I thought it was worth a try because of these. When we walked in, it looked like a bar with what looked like regulars hanging out, eating or just having a beer. Then, a sweet motherly woman with an apron comes out, and she rolled her eyes at us when we asked for pepper sauce on the side and told us our total was $18. This red head lady with a butch cut (I think she was the owner LC), who had answered the phone when we called in our order but hung up on us before we completed our order, told us to give her a $20 and "kill it". This dumb ass straight took our change as a tip after how terrible the service was. Not to mention that this was a pick up/take out! We didn't even have the option to tip her. She just took it!!! We ate the food at home... Curry chicken Roti and 3 doubles... WORST WE EVER HAD!!! Curry chicken had no flavor until you add pepper sauce and the doubles didn't even taste like doubles. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! MAKE THE DRIVE UP TO BROWARD... This place was a dump too... Dust hanging from the ceiling and just a hot mess. DONT LISTEN TO THOSE 5 STARS! THEY'RE PROBABLY FAMILY OR FRIENDS OF THE OWNER(S)!!! Waste of money and time!!!

I love this place!! Everyone is polite and fast. The shrimp roti is amazing!!!! Need to go back soon.

I don't know nothing about Roti but I loved this place! It's like eating at someones kitchen table- on an island somewhere in the Caribbean. The vegetable roti was big, HOT (get the peppers on the side) and delicious. The store is very unpretentious and more along the lines of a shop then a restaurant. Paper napkins, can of coke and your food. But for the money it's definitely on my list of "I'm hungry for something great! Let's go!"

A hidden gem, indeed! The best buss up shut and doubles I've ever had. And the place just felt like Trinidad. :)

Another slice of Trini heaven. Legit as heck, and quite possibly the best roti around, although I have to go back to Lauderhill/Sunrise to confirm this!

Please don't waste your money going here, a horrible horrible expression of Trinidadian food. The good is tasteless basically. Then the owner ONLY ACCEPTS CASH and she will always say she doesn't have change and keep that extra $0.50 every single time you go. Her curry had ginger in it which over powered the flavor of the food. Her roti is extra small in size. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME JUST GO TO Joy's in Lauderhill.

This place is located in a plaza that tells you exactly what to expect by the name alone, "Caribbean Shoppes!" Every shop, store, eatery is an island business just like this roti shop. The rotis are made right there in front of you and taste like they were made in house off a dirt road in Trinidad, got in a car, drove to the airport and flew straight into your mouth. I love the dobles here. As a full blooded carnivore. I love to have meat in EVERYTHING but one taste of those dobles makes me ask meat who? They close at 8 or 9....officially. But its often used for parties. The best part about that is as long as their doors are open, they are serving food!

Im gonna give them 2 stars because of the service not the food. On my recent visit the food was good but the staff is not friendly at all they dont speak, smile or seem to be happy to have a paying customer. The lady didnt even bother to ask me if my food was for here or to go she just packaged my food to go when my intention was to dine in. The food was good but the service could be better I paid $24 for 2 shrimp roti's and a drink and the woman looked at me like she was expecting a tip & I honestly believe she added a tip to my bill because it was $20 for the 2 rotis And i know darn well the solo soda was not $4 why would you charge someone a tip for packaged food to go haha for that price i could have went to a buffet with better service.

Very good! Found this place by accident and they treated me well. Very hearty portion and they stick to a small menu, no nonsense.

5 stars for the beef roti exclusively - it was DELICIOUS! The chicken roti has bones, making it too difficult to eat all wrapped up (???) and it was just alright, I'm sticking with the beef. The plain vegetable or plain potato - double carb awesomeness - are next on my list. They also have shrimp, conch and goat roti - I'm not doing all that. Warning to the wise: like others have mentioned, get the hot sauce (aka pepper) on the side, that chet is nuclear!

So, so, so delicious. The girls behind the counter are so friendly too. I am in this area for work a lot, so I can't wait to go back and eat veggie rotis and doubles til I burst. Cash only.

REVIEW UPDATE FOR DOUBLES ONLY - no roti today Stopped on my way home for some doubles. Ordered 4 to go....one hot and the others with no hot sauce in case the boys didn't want them hot but OH JOY!!! They are selling their own hot sauce in jars of varying sizes. All natural ingredients. Bought some to take home and it was a big hit. $4.00 for a jar about the size of a jelly jar. The doubles were delish and we washed it all down with two bottles of Lucozade ;) Review may be slewed by the random meeting of some old friends I haven't met in 8 years. Small town Miami.

I read the reviews and decided to give it a try. Had three different roti's (duck, conch & shrimps) overall the taste was very good and the dhalpuri was excellent. Well seasoned, great texture and properly made. Location is a bit on the rustic side but the taste of the roti was spot on and compliments to the establishment for producing a product very close to the original. Will visit again!

Unlike my misadventures at another roti shop, LC Roti is exactly how a good roti should taste. I was turned on to this place years ago by Caribbean co-workers who highly recommended getting roti here, and I've never once been disappointed. Like the name says, this is a roti shop. Beyond roti, there's not much selection beyond pholourie, aloo pies, and bussup, and while there are a couple of tables people mostly pony up to the counter. The pholouire (fritters) were tasty with a little spicy sauce on the side but I can't say I cared much for the aloo pie - a potato pie that wasn't too warm. The roti bread is prepared fresh right in front of you, comes in a wide variety of stuffings (beef, goat, shrimp, vegetable, chicken, etc.), and has the perfect curry taste. For those (like me) that like spice, they'll throw in (what I'm sure is) a scotch bonnet seasoning upon request. Also, considering the price ($9 and under), the portions are huge. One roti, alone, could easily put a most people in a food coma. So, if you're up on 441, go with your appetite and don't forget to bring cash.

The is a dive with a bunch of locals and regulars. The beef roti was moist, non-overcooked, Indian spicy, and overall authentic tasting.

Minus one star because it wasn't as cheap as I thought it might be. But Holy moly this place is tasty. We followed the advice of other Yelpers and stuck with the beef because apparently the other ones have bones in the meat making it a more arduous task to eat the massive roti. I would also be willing to try the fish ones. They sounded tempting. We will definitely be back!

Whenever i start missing de islands i head over to LC's ( i also call it 'No AC Roti Shop'). This hole in the wall is one of many caribbean gems on 441. You will find all kinds of people passing through for a meal or just liming having a Carib beer. They have a wide selection of curries (beef, goat, chicken, shrimp, duck, potato). Inaddition they make local trini street food which is a must ( doubles & pulorie ). Most people have the curry rolled in the roti which can be messy for a novice roti eater. Ask for it separate & eat the roti with the curry indian style. Also expect to hear very loud music playing soca or chutney music, it will take you right back to a rum shack off de road In the same plaza they have 'Jamaica House', also excellent food. ps its a joke, they have AC @ LC's

This restaurant is horrible...U can't use cell phones. they are not living in the 20th century. Lady used bare hands to touch pholurie. Not a very clean restaurant. Concerned with saving electricity in bathrooms and closing doors. Bathrooms had absolute no hand towels and u had to ask the people for napkins to wipe hands after coming out of bathrooms. (If they had hand towels in there, we might have had time to hold the door with a napkin whilst closing it) Bathrooms are gross. There is absolutely no professionalism. And no receipt for services. As an onlooker, employees seemed to be treated more like slaves as they humbly heralded to LC's command. We will definitely not be returning there again. Doubles was extremely stale. Goat was rubbery. The roti was fresh, but again they did not wash hands whilst handling food or money...These people are definitely from the bush! Not recommended.

By far the best Trini food in Miami. If you are a Hispanic like me and want to try something different, LC is the spot. I went with my wife and we loved it. We got treated like family and ended up staying an extra hour talking crap with Mommy (owner). The Doubles and the Vegetarian Roti were amazing. This is my new spot for sure!!!

  • Alejandra M.

I absolutely love the Roti from here. You have to make sure that you bring cash though. The place is a homy small and dark atmosphere but a great friendly staff. They make it for you right there and it is an amzing different taste. This Roti makes the other Rottis look bad. The only reason I am not giving this joint 5 stars is because the best roti spot I have ever had is in The Cayman Islands. So every Roti spot I go to i will compare to that one!

Awesome! And great service. Felt like I was in someone's home. All my friends from Trinidad also swear by this place which just confirms for me it's as authentic as you can get in the 305. Go!

The first time I came here (it was my first time having roti at all), the staff and even the customers were amazingly nice and friendly. One customer even let me try a piece of phulourie from her order. They answered all my questions. The first time, I was buying the food to bring to my friends in Chicago (to show them some yummy Miami treats). So, I asked what would be the most airplane friendly food to bring. I bought a lot of phulourie (fried balls of dough) which you dip in this scrumptious fruity/spicy sauce, a few aloo pies (kind of like a potato turnover), one plain roti bread (which, they make to order right in front of you, it's quite the sight), and a potato (filled) roti (which has curry flavors and you can add extra spice if you want). It was SO tasty and it travelled well. The next time, I got goat roti, duck roti, and a beef bus-up-shut (a different type of roti bread). My only warning/criticism: the goat and duck have ALL the bones still and it makes it a little difficult to eat. The flavors were excellent though. While you're there, pop next door for a patty or two at Patty Place.

This place is the HAP's if you want authentic trinidadian Roti! When I'm in town and I want to take my mouth on a spicy Caribbean holiday without having to deal with customs, LC ROTI is where my mouth finds Jah. L C and her dutiful assistant are always at the waiting with a perfect selection of curry roti and island beers. The customer range goes from...well... from me, to islanders, to pimps and dealers, and tootsie's dancer's, to families of 4 enjoy the comfort food of home. It ain't pretty but the curried goat is the bomb! If you are more on the bland side, tell them not to make it HOT! But if you've got Ballz of steal, grab some hot sauce to take home.

I could hear music a few stores before approaching the roti shop,my family and I walked in for lunch and the music soooo loud it was deafening. I had my baby with me and request that the music be turned down and was ignored. The service was horrible overall. Infact I had to ask for the rest of my incomplete order.

Roti is delicious. Goat is awesome. A few bones but very tasty. Watch out for the bones! Highly Recommend!
