Pretty good spot for Turkish food. Takes awhile for the food to be ready, but worth the wait. Definitely better than any other Turkish spots I can think of in Miami Beach.

Fast, delicious & affordable. Delivery from Alton Rd location is quick at lunch time. Clean space with TVs for game night and you can eat outside. Healthy option and their garlic sauce is awesome!

Do you appreciate rice? Then Rice is the place for you as you noticed by its name. My elementary aged daughter could be described as a picky discriminating eater but she loves this place. Her favorite is the platter with a grilled tomato of course rice and little spheres of kabob meat. She also likes the buzzer that vibrates when the food is ready. I recommend this place for simple healthy eats with parking available for free.

Awesome place with good food!! They have healthy options here. I like the chicken platter and that comes with hummus and with your choice of rice or greek salad. Love their hummus. Great for lunch or dinner. Love this place! So tasty but healthy.

Food unloved and mediocre. I could hardly eat the rawish falafel , half dead salad, yucky hummus

I started working in a hotel and I had to call for my first food delivery. I was not in the mood of eating the typical American food like pizzas or burgers. I look up the internet and found RICE House of Kabob, so I decided to order the Chenjeh for lunch. The Chenjeh was great!!!! Juicy tenderloin steak, flavorful basmati rice, fresh greek salad and to top it off, it comes with hummus and house sauces. Chenjeh has become one of my favorite plates and will continue ordering from RICE.

Craving Mediterranean food but don't want to break the bank or have to dress up and wait in some upscale setting? Then come to Rice! Yes, you can have healthy-ish fast food, and Rice is proof of that. With different combinations ranging from chicken to lamb to salad to rice, you're guaranteed to find something you like. They even have fish, if you're a pescetarian, and they have appetizers and dessert options too! They are conveniently located on Alton and there is parking on the street or at the lot in the back, which is great, unless it's raining, in which case, parts of the lot may be flooded. The food is not too expensive considering what you're getting and considering it's South Beach: I got a three combo (chicken chunks, beef chunks and ground lamb) with rice, and I believe it was about $18.00, and there was enough to share. My favorite part is the chicken, it's so tender, juicy and flavorful, I really want to know what they put in it, I never can replicate chicken that is that thick yet so tender. The beef was a bit rubbery/tough, so that's my least favorite item. I think that if I had to choose something of the 3, I'd get the chicken, which is exactly what my friend did: he asked for the equivalent of 3 skewers of chicken on a plate and called it a day. Service here is fast, and you may be surprised to find some rather interesting people. On this occasion (sometime last week), there was a young man who looked like he came out of a modeling magazine, and last year, I spotted someone in a Bugatti with UAE plates, perhaps a sultan or something? Many people seem to come here after the gym, most of the young women had workout clothes and it seems to be a good spot to meet friends, as a party of 2 suddenly turned into a party of 8 or so. There's another location on Biscayne, which is where I sometimes used to go when I lived in the midtown area, so if you're far from the beach and closer to Aventura or just want to stay away from SoBe, keep that in mind as another option and yes, this place beats Pasha's for Mediterranean fast food hands down!

First off, hats off to the guy that took the phone order. He was very patient with me. I ordered 6 lunch specials and everyone paid with a different card. What I liked is that we only had to pay 1 delivery fee. Most places charge each order/card. I ordered the falafel lunch special. It came with rice, falafel, salad, hummus, and a piece of pita bread. Everything was fresh and flavorful. I would order from there again and I recommend it to anyone.

If you have never had kabob...come here and try it! I happened to be walking by in search something delicious and thank goodness I came across this place! I have always loved Persian food and I was wondering if I'd find a good kabob place after moving down here from DC. Everything is fresh, authentic and delicious. I am writing this review after my second visit. First time I got the combo with rice, ground beef and chicken........soooo yummy! Second time I came during lunch to get the chicken, rice, hummus and a salad lunch special for $9.....once again not disappointed. So happy they have multiple locations too! The menu is very customer friendly with good pictures and descriptions.

Good fast clean food and healthy as long as u can stay away from the yummy desserts. I love the tilapia platter ask for x tra sauce for the rice its delicious! The tilapia platter comes with salad basmati rice and tilapia

The first time I went, I couldn't believe how delicious the food is! I had the Talapia lunch special, and I couldn't believe I could get a delicious fish meal for under $11!!! The food is as good or better than any restaurant I have been to (that cost way more money, just for the privilege of using porcelain plates and metal utensils!!!). It is one of the best values around: delicious food (I love their sauce) at a very reasonable price. The service is excellent. I gave my order to Tony. It turns out he was the Manager, and he was working with his team to provide great customer service...with a smile! His whole team were very courteous. I have been a repeat customer every time I find myself in Miami Beach. I recommend it very high to everyone.

Pleasant atmosphere, waiters were very helpful. But, the only bad thing was that only the chicken was halal. And the food was very very good.

This place is so delicious and Clean! The manager always picks up the phone for deliveries and is very sweet and quick. Love the lunch specials and they cater to vegetarian which is a nice change from Miami.

one of my best place for lunch. fresh meal. good price and clean. i love the Kubideh which is the ground meat. the lunch special is so good that it has salad, rice, hummus and the kubideh all in one for around 9$.

I love this place! Fresh yummy fast middle eastern food. Anything you are in the mood for, chicken? Fish? Meat? Or just veggie wraps or platters? Plus the baklava is home made and amazing. I've been going there since they opens and even now that they have more locations the quality is still just like the first day! Great food!

We went here for lunch several times and it was always such a joy for our taste nerves :) The best thing is that the restaurant offers very fresh and especially healthy food. The lunch menus are more than affordable and 100% worth its money. We will definitely come back and I can only highly recommend you this restaurant.

I went here because it is located next to my nail salon. Ordered a Falafel wrap before entering my mani/pedi appointment next door. The service was good but the Falafel was a bit on the dry side. If I would've ate it there I would have asked for more sauce. On another occasion I bought a hot tea to go and it was delicious. Since I can't drink coffee, Tea is my thing. It had cardamon I think... I went back another time to get myself another one and they couldn't find their tea anywhere. I would probably go back before my next manicure to see if they found their tea.

1. The rice was well made - fluffy and well seasoned. Highly recommended. 2. The tenderloin was slightly tough and dry. The sirloin was a lot better than the tenderloin and its texture was similar to a burger patty. 3. The chicken and falafel were well made. 4. The garlic sauce available went really well with all the dishes. Overall, the place is really worth a visit.

I'm half Swiss. Let's ignore this fact for now and focus on the other half: Israeli. As in I have eaten enough felafel and hummus to fill the walls of Jerusalem. I spent a month in Israel living off Shwarma and felafel and kebabs for $5 dollars a day. My Jew-netics give me a schnoz for any type of deal, and my appetite for the food of my people is limitless. That said, I'm thinking about packing up and moving in this place. Seriously. I could live there. Chunks of chicken so tender and tasty they musta been marinated in the holy land. And speaking of holy, I praised God when I tasted the felafel. Perfect salad. And at those prices (compared to other South Beach places), I'm a bit worried that I will eat them out of business. I mean, my culinary companion, a hungry and health conscious firefighter (he prefers 'fireman'. But I won't give in to sexism) couldn't even finish (I gladly polished off his meal), and the two of us were shy of 20 bucks for both our meals combined... And all this in a cozy, comfortable restaurant wayyyy cleaner then your average rat infested Tel Aviv felafel stand.

My favorite place to order from In south beach! Everything tastes amazing and is cooked perfectly. Wait time is a little long but worth it by any means. Pricey , but also worth it. Good portion sizes

Gave them another chance and I'm happy I did. Service is still great as usual. The sauce they serve is delicious. Order the kafta kabob (ground beef with spices) it's made perfectly! It's seasoned well and had that charcoal BBQ flavor! The chocolate cookies has rose water in them, unique and tasty.

They do a great job w the joojeh / chicken platter. It's like $12 and you get a ton of delicious chicken and rice as well as a full salad.

Kelvis D.
I don't know what they do to the chicken here, but it's insane. I'm a big fan of persian food. Having spent the last couple of years in LA I was spoiled with some very good places. When I moved to SoBe I was pleasantly surprised to find such a good casual persian restaurant walking distance to my house! I honestly haven't tried any other dish except the chicken because every time I think about ordering something else, I remember how DE-LI-CIOUS the chicken is. The hummus is really good too and the backlava is yummy!! Try this place out, you won't regret it.

Middle East meets South Beach. Next time you're craving a kabob or something grilled, let your hunger compass lead you to Rice! The Grilled Veggie Platter has earned a spot in my Food Hall of Fame; fresh grilled mushroom, tomato, zucchini, squash and onion on a bed of that unbelievable basmati rice. Now the dipping sauce deserves a paragraph all its own. I think it's made with garlic and angel tears. Its like a culinary catalyst to food euphoria. However, you might want to make sure you have some mouthwash or a mint handy if you're hoping for a goodnight kiss at the end of a dinner date. I also especially like the bathrooms. Seriously, they're always clean and smell good and everything is automatic to expedite any pre or post meal rituals. If you're feeling agoraphobic, they deliver and according to their website, you can even order online!

Seasoning on their meats are just perfect.i usually get a super combo w/ rice. I think 3 people can eat from that. They also hav sauce to dunk the meat. Great place!

I usually favor their place in Doral, primarily because dinner time catches me more in this area. But have had the craving for solid middle eastern food while on the beach and Rice is there to hit the spot. Their platters are quite good, particularly I favor the chicken, I not sure how they marinate it but it is flavorful and juicy, try their Chicken Platter Joojeh. Also the Chenjeh, is a must ! again perfectly marinated beef simply fantastic. For salads, I favor the Go Greek - Feta cheese and pepperronchini are mandatory staples of any good salad and of course a good dose of Kalamata olives to close the circle.

Love this place. Used to go all the time when Gold's was open. Now I go whenever I'm in the area. The best here is the grilled chicken breast (cooked off a ss skewer on a grill) over salad with their home dressing. Sometimes the dressing can be a little too watered down though. Get the grape leaves and the hummus for sure with their thin bread that goes perfect with the hummus. The operation is pretty clean although I hate when they stick the tip jar right by the register. They're not servers and get paid by the hour; if tips were accepted here, it should be done more discretely. Just my .02.

Solid, healthy, and flavorful food. Not the quality of Persian you'd get in LA, but does the job for South Beach. Staff is attentive and friendly. Chenjeh rice is a standout.

I had lunch here the other day and was a bit disappointed by the flavors. I'm not sure why but everything seem bland to me. Has my taste buds change recently? I ordered the Kubideh platter and both the meat and salad didn't appease me. Maybe its because I had 3 parisian macarons, chouquettes, and a falafel wrap earlier in the day. Or maybe sitting on South Beach made me want to eat less. That might explain it...or that I normally shared the meal with my bf but opted to get my own this time around. Regardless, I still enjoy coming here for lunch. It is a lot of food for one person. The people working there were nice and accommodating. Too bad I didn't enjoy it as I normally do.

I eat here all the time, it's right around the corner from my place. I get the tenderloin platter or the chicken platter. Both are excellent.. The meat is always cooked perfectly, the salad is fresh as tasty and the sauce they give you to put on the rice is great. A bonus you don't get a lot in South Florida is friendly service.. Whoever is working at the cash register is always very nice here! Prices are reasonable too!

I've been to Rice several times and each time I am satisfied with the service and my meal. I usually go for the Joojeh wrap which is great. I also love their lentil soup. I think Rice is much better than Pasha's but not as great as Kabobji. If i need a wrap fix on the beach, I am definitely going to Rice.

I was craving something mysterious and Mediterranean, but with rice, so I ordered the Chicken Platter Joojeh. It was a great light meal. A great place to go for an inexpensive, healthy lunch or dinner. TIP: Opt for the platter. In most cases it's about $2 more than regular serving and it seems that you get a bit more for your money.

Excellent place to get a great meal!! Have Carlos, if available, explain the menu if you find it daunting - but really, it's a few proteins in different combinations of preparation. Definitely start with hummus for an appetizer - or even felafel - heck, or both!! I had the chenjeh rice - soft, succulent tenderloin with Basmati rice. And OMG - the house sauce... I poured it over everything!!! Didn't have room for dessert but will definitely try the baklava next time!
(4)
Marc R.
Good clean place to eat middle eastern food for lunch. Had the chenjeh platter and the tenderloin was as tender and tasty as could be. The hummus was also real good. My girlfriend had the falafel wrap and that was ok. The guy at the register was very helpful with the menu patiently explaining the different components of the dishes. Everything we ate tasted very fresh and am looking forward to trying other items on their menu.

For me, the word Kebab was always synonymous with pricy middle eastern fare, usually with portions that left you hungry and unsatisfied or even worse; a burnt skewer of meat served at a local carnival. Fortunately we now have Rice House of Kebab as no-frills, reasonably priced self-serve alternative. They even have multiple locations: Miami Beach, Doral, and Kendall. I recommend the Chenjeh platter: sirloin kebab served with a Greek salad and side of Basmati rice. The grape leaves are also quite tasty too. For an extra treat ask for zereshk for your rice, a type of berry topping sort of like a little cranberry only more tart and perfect with the rice. Also, try some of the Sumac that can be found on every table, it adds a tangy citrusy flavor to whatever you put it on, and it goes good with everything. Rice is a the perfect sort of place to get some good middle eastern food when you're short on time and money, and one of the few cheap places to eat while out on the beach.

my friend wanted to go for dinner so she suggested rice. i had been here before, a while ago... i was a bit disappointed that even though they have a tv, they werent showing game 3, heat vs mavs. whats up with that? i went ahead and ordered a grilled meat platter. i cant recall what it was called. it sure was good. the grilled meat was well seasoned and tender. the rice was good too, gotto love that tumeric. my friend ordered the same dish and we also shared an order of grilled veggies. these were good too, not overdone. the veggies were all juicy and crisp. grand total, $30. 3 1/2 stars, not quite 4 stars until they find a remote control for their tv. lets go heat!

Been coming to Rice pretty much since it opened on the Beach, but sadly I don't think I am going back. I had started noticing that the food prices are going up and the quality is going down fast. The meat serving have actually been cut in half. Higher price. Half the portions and the quality of the meat is bad. They also use to serve this great sauce, but they've managed to mess that up also. It's this tasteless watery yellow water now. It's amazing how the owner thinks that nobody is going to notice the garbage being served now. Maybe it was sold?? Update June 2, 2012 I am updating my review. Quality is coming back!

Disgusting and unsanitary!! I walked in the door and the first thing I saw was the cashier PICK HER NOSE! This cashier actually stuck her finger directly into her nose right in front of me. Totally unacceptable in a place of business that serves food and claims to be healthy. YUCK!!

AWESOME....Food was done perfect....the steak and chicken was fresh, rice choices are great. They delivered on time!! WILL ORDER AGAIN Why not 5 stars....they don't send bread with the meal and they forgot to mention that!! Missing my Naan but I'm loving the food, and the have orangina!!

i've eaten here twice and on both occasions had the same meal. (It was that good.) The Chenji Rice platter consists of basmati rice, grilled tenderloin and a salad. The meat was grilled to perfection (about medium) and the rice was also good. Could have used a tinge more seasoning but that's obviously very subjective. Definitely will continue to visit.

House of Rice catered our store opening this past weekend. I could not stop eating the rice!! I'm from out of town as support, and am so impressed with how clean (healthy) the food was and how light and delicious it was. Can you put a location in Sarasota???

I was looking for a nice kebab place but I was very dispaointed. Over price, food is dry and doesn't have anything of a kebab from turkey.
(2)
Muath A.
Good food but very overpriced. The night before I went to a very nice Italian restaurant by Ocean Dr and had an amazing dinner for $48. I came to this place for too little chicken over rice and meat over rice for $48. Don't get me wrong, the food is good but it doesn't worth the price. You would have nicer food for the same price. You serve yourself and pick your own plate, but they still charge 15% tips to your bill

Excellent chicken kebabs (halal). I had the chicken platter and basbousa. The chicken was fresh and tender, which comes with a big portion of Greek salad.

The only reason I'm giving this place a 3 stars is because of the construction. If you're not familiar with the area you're might end up lost, you have to park in the back ( if you can find it ) . Besides that, the service is good and the food is yummy. Their steak is always cooked to perfection, as well as their rice, and the sauce (don't know the name) it's soooo good... I just wanna bathe in it LOL ok I took it too far. But in all seriousness the place has good food.

This place is great. They season the food so well that it is magickal!!! I like the platters of chicken or beef over a big salad with a side of basmati rice, liberally sprinkling on the sumak with pleasure. For the best trip, go with a friend and order each, and share! The price and parking is great too, but I really miss having a real fork and plate. Plastic is the only thing that prevented the 5th star here. Food is great, they just need to class up the experience a bit.

If you are craving Persian food then this is the place. The kubideh was a bit salty but overall good. The chicken kabob was really good and tender. The yogurt with cucumber was a little watered down. The salad dressing however is out of this world. I actually put it on everything it was so tasteful, almost a Cesar spin off of some sorts. Been to many Persian spots this one is ok.

I have never been disappointed here the food is excellent. The beef tenderloin is delicious the hummus, and all the sides. Very good dessert as well. the atmosphere is very nice too. I recommend it highly

OK this is my second Yelp review and I'm excited because it's one of my favorite foods... Persian! OK let me get right to the point for those reading this and want to visit this place ... Excellent food! You will NOT be disappointed.... No kidding! :-) OK so now let me get to the details if you still need proof! OK first of all, it's a fast food.... I have been to other fancy Persian restaurants and to be honest the small fast food ones are GOOD and this one doesn't disappoint! Walking into the place, it's very cozy and warm. The menus on the wall is very big with beautiful pictures of what you are ordering! Specially if you are new to Persian food! Now to get to the point....the food is just amazing! The rice ohhhh do good and the kobeedeh is great! The checkin is the right flavor and the service is really cool! OK I could really get into the details and fancy words.... All you need to know the food tastes awesome.... Hence the five stars!!! :-) Recommendations: chicken anything... Kobeedeh....oh wait.... I forgot ... The salad sooooooo fresh!!!!!! LOVED IT!!!! :-)

Nah... Just anothe fast food restaurant who like to cut corners. I defend etnic food as long as they keep it real; this fast food restaurant is just another attempt to recreate a Persian meal for a diverse population like Miami, by making it accessible, fast and convenient... But once again, they fail to do so... The reason: it doesnt feel I'm eating fresh food! Everything is re-heated and I hate that! I would have rather wait longer and eating standing up on a street corner while they prepare my food properly... That's what I expect of a fast food restaurant, to be real, to see the person who is prepping my food while I drool by smeling it... Of course, that's what "I" like to find when I look for this kind of place. My advice, loose the american fast food restaurant floors, walls, counters, uniforms l, etc and embrace the persian fast food as a whole experience.

Protein is tender and tasty! Love Mediterranean food. This spot is a good reference for almost-authentic, trustworthy platters.

Today I'll give RICE 2 Stars ...so you have to buy the hummus on the side AND (wait for it!) you have to buy the pita to eat it with too! [That's like charging for the container you need your takeout in!] How else, we might ask, would you eat the hummus with! For the record, it only comes with a quarter of the pita bread! REALLY?! Go through all the labor of slicing the pita bread in four to offer your patrons a soggy quarter?! Could you believe that?! Neither could I. After paying average $40 dinner for two and as a local, how much loss could complimentary and COMPLEMENTARY HUMMUS BREAD be to the owner?? #freeTHEbreadMOVEMENT #baffled #nowords #nofilter #simplytacky #notSOsmartbusiness

I only had the chenjeh wrap, but that was enough to make me a convert! The smokey and flavorful tenderloin in the wrap just kept me acting like an animal... *rip, snarl, growl, rip, etc* and so on until it was totally devoured. While I think this is a great casual fast food restaurant in Miami (no drive-thru here though), there's several things that could make this restaurant better: 1) drive-thru (duh) 2) more fabulous sides 3) more creative desserts 4) change the ugly trays 5) better drink choices (i.e. change lemonade to organic/fresh squeezed lemonade - it does make a difference!) 6) paying me $600 for giving you all this advice But, all-in-all, of what I've tried, which was the chenjeh tenderloin wrap, I have to give it 5 stars. Oh, and for those who are not in the know, there's a parking lot behind the building (you enter the alley to get to the parking lot on either side streets). Yes, free parking! Need any more loving? P.S. This place reminded me of ASQEW Grill in San Francisco - but with less stellar sides and no wine. And of course, with this place being Persian and that place not - but it just came up in my mind for the casual atmosphere and the strong focus on skewers. Perhaps RICE can look to ASQEW to improve in some areas.

This place is really good, and the prices are very reasonable for the portions they serve. For ar0und $9 you get greek salad, rice, and a big portion of chicken and some delicious side sauce. They also had fresh red velvet with cream cheese frosting cupcakes they get from a cupcake place. AMAZING ! So I got dinner and dessert for $10. The mini cupcakes are only .50 cents. I really like this place I am glad I was hungry one night and didn't feel like driving so I thought hmmm what is close to my apt. I am so glad I went here I have been in the past, but didn't realize it is this good. I also got a side of hummus that was really tasty for $2.50.

I've walked by this establishment hundreds of times but never had a thought to walk in. Then my favorite resident ordered takeout and treated the gang to dinner giving us no choice but to partake. Any food joint with rice in its name cannot have good rice... or so I thought. The rice was neither soggy nor hard, it was well prepared. My favorite intern showed me how to pour in the white sauce on top of the rice making a delicious gooey amalgamation of goodness which tastes amazing on its own. Any food joint with kabob in its name cannot have good kabobs.... or so I thought. Although the aluminum takeout tin was sitting undefiled for an hour until I was able to take a break, the meat was still warm, moist, and tender. The outer layers of the kabobs are seared shut forming a barrier for the juices and fat smoldering inside ready to burst in your mouth. RICE House of Kabob, despite their name, exceeded my expectations considering it was take out. If you're ever walking by, peering in the windows, take a leap of faith and walk in.

I'm often surprised by my fellow Yelpers. Maybe I've just been around the block one too many times. Rice is fine. The food is alright. I mean, it's an easy meal to wait for while shopping at W next door so it's convenient, otherwise I don't think I would seek it out. I hate to say it. Especially since I'll probably go there many more times and maybe they'll read my review and put it with my face and spit in my food. Ok, probably not, but who knows? Maybe just a dirty look. Better still, they'll work on it. Rice is supposed to be known for its rice. I love jasmine, fragrant rice. Unfortunately, I always have to pour their sauce all over it because it's always dry. The sauce is good though. I wouldn't buy the shirazi salad again. Their hummus isn't my cup of tea. I love dolmeh but theirs only makes me long for good dolmeh of the past - still it satisfies my fix. All of the above is too bland for me. Where do you get good dolmeh in Miami? This is a great place for a low carb diet. You can get protein on top of salad; easy. Consistent with the rest of the menu, the meat is OK. I've tried all the different varieties, but it's not great. The ground sirloin and chicken are a little dry. The tenderloin isn't as tender as I would expect. The sauce is the savior of everything, pour it on. I like middle-eastern food and I can tell you that I've had much better. I wish my story were different. Overall Rice is a change of pace on the beach and a decent place to get food. It just should be much better.

I'm hooked on the Tilapia wrap: the fish is fresh, and the garlic sauce is delectable. I also like their side of hummus. But I thought the falafel is quite bland; missing the flavor profile of Persian cuisine.

Rice House of Kabob offers decent-sized portions for decent prices. I opted for the tenderloin wrap, and it came with a good amount of grilled meat, along with feta cheese and lettuce, tomato, and onion. It was accompanied by a pickle and a dolma (stuffed grape leaf), as well as a delicious tangy, creamy dipping sauce. I wasn't even all that hungry, but I couldn't get enough. I must say that I can't speak for the dolma, cause I'm not a big fan and general and didn't want to try it, but everything else was good. I'll definitely be going back. Also, I second Rob's comment about going after a workout - that's what my friend and I did, and we saw several other people who looked like they had the same idea. I live within walking distance, but finding parking along Alton or the side streets shouldn't be too much of a problem, especially if you go during dinner hours.

A Persian restuarant in South Beach?!? And it's GOOD! This Persian is in heaven. Seriously, peeps - the food here is tasty. Way better than any of the Persian I've had in NYC and comparable to a few places in LA (read: Tehranangeles). Order any of the kabobs - you can't go wrong. Only downside is their entrees come with only 1 piece of kabob instead of the customary 2 pieces. Kind of a downer when the meat's so good. I suggest ordering an additional side of kabob. Trust me, you'll thank me. In other notes: their Zhereshk is great if you like that sort of thing, and the mast-o-khiar is tdf...make sure to order the full app, not the side bc their sides are tiiiiny. Fast, friendly delivery too. South Beach, I love you more and more everyday.

Among the Persian restaurants in Miami proper, ie, vincinity of Miami Beach / Downtown, this is the best one I've found. And between the two locations, I found that the Downtown location had better prepared the kabobs than the South Beach location. They actually even respond to their Facebook posts. In response to my post, I understand that the Downtown location will soon be delivering, if not already! Only reason they didn't when I wanted delivery was because they were in search for a new driver. I appreciate that they care to listen, especially in this town. I only wish that Rice made kabob barg instead of chengeh. A good barg dinner with a more homey family feel requires a drive south of Miami proper to a place called Shiraz. Homa, the wife-owner, is wonderful.

One of my fav healthy choices! I crave this place at least once a week! Try the fish salad. It is so healthy and tasty!!

If I was reviewing just the food alone, Rice probably would have received two stars. Unfortunately, their horrendous delivery service and lack of candidness dropped them down a mark. The Bad: Delivery took over an hour (I only live 8 blocks away). 45 minutes into the wait, when I called to voice my concern, I was told that the food was out for delivery and should be there in 5 minutes. I'm sure this guy was busy, but it was obvious to me that this was a generic response, and he really had not idea. Tell me upfront if the delivery is going to take more than 30 minutes. Also, don't lie to me. Finally, around an hour after my order was purchased, when the food arrived, everything was cold. Good thing I LOVE cold falafel. The Ugly: The steak was over cooked. The falafel was cold. Both salads had pieces of lettuce that were rotten. Picture a bag of lettuce (or head) that is two days past it's prime. Most of the lettuce is still good, just don't serve the bad portions to your customers. I ordered an extra side of regular rice. I was given rice with raisins, which I loathe. Could this place be good if the food is served fresh? Maybe. Do I think it could come anywhere close to making up for this sour experience? Absolutely not.

tried this place yesterday on the request of a friend.......I ordered something(don't remember the name) with a burrito thing.........everything was really good!!! the rice,meat,burrito.....it was all very great tasting!!! BUT....It failed to impress me....don't get me wrong, I definitely liked the food and I will certainly come back but it simply didn't make me fall in love with the food...it didn't leave a mark in my heart, but it was certainly good food!!! the price was a bit high, wasn't the cheapest place I ever eaten in..

I love Rice as my go to meal when I'm in a rush or don't have time to cook. I always find things fresh, flavorful and fairly priced. Love the Falafel and Chicken Platter "Joojeh". Also a big fan of the grape leaves. Glad to have this on Sobe!

Perhaps the meat dishes are better. I had high hopes for this place (I know, that's such a Yelp cliche' thing to say). This place also came highly recommended by some neighbors. I give it props for trying to be healthy. The problem is that the food here tastes bland - the exact reason most people shy away from healthy food. I had the Rice's Veggie. When I got it, I was excited. It looked super delicious and the size was crazy big. Then I took my first bite and was sorely disappointed. It needed....taste. It seriously didn't taste like much of anything, and I proceeded to dump the ranchy dressing from the other dish we ordered onto my dish. Unfortunately the ranchy dressing wasn't very tasteful either, so it didn't do much to help the cause. My person had the Rice Melt, which he said was standard. Roasted veggies, cheese, some kind of blandish ranch dressing. I guess I was hoping since it was Persian inspired that they would put some freakishly awesome seasoning on their veggies. But no. They didn't. Also, the service was less than spectacular for sure. We had to stand there for 5 minutes while there was no one else in the restaurant, staring at the girl who was supposed to be taking our orders, as she talked on her cell phone in the back. Unfortunately I won't be coming back here. It's not worth the little amount we spent on the food and I could make something at home in 15 minutes that would be much better.

My friend first introduced me to Persian food and I was a little bit reluctant at first to try it because I wasn't sure whether I'd be eating a cat or not. I love Rice House of Kabob. I usually get the joojeh & rice or the chenheh & rice here. They give you a yellow yogurt sauce with your food, I usually get a gallon of it because it's amazing. The baklava here is amazing, as well.

It's a persian "Fast Food" not a restaurant... the rice was not cooked properly!

If you are a fan of persian food, you can find a very good kebab here with fair price.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. food is delicious and healthy! the joojeh- chicken kebobs- are always juicy and tender the kubideh- is delicious and perfectly seasoned and tasty the chenjeh- tenderloin kebob is also marinated the salads are delicious (shirazi salad yum!) i never order the rice but the few bites I steal from my huuusband are always super delicious. love that jasmine-y rice! the food takes a little long to get- but that goes to show you that slow food is better food. and beware- that sauce they give you has crack in it. IT'S SOOO DELICIOUS and i want to eat everything in life- smothered in it. south beach needs some variety- a break away from all the italian or sushi places or now, burger places. eat healthy today at RICE. your tummy will thank you!!!!

This review isn't about the food. It is about the horrible business practices. After reading several other yelp reviews about how great it was to have this place deliver, I decided to check out their website, and get dinner delivered while I tidied up the apartment. I placed an order online, and clicked the "pay cash" option. The total came out to about $14.00. I then received a call, about 15 minutes later, advising me that they processed my order, but there would be a delivery charge. OK, reasonable enough I thought. The delivery charge......drumroll......$10.00! They wanted to charge an additional $10.00 to take my food on a 12 block journey. (all you lady yelpers trying to guess where I live based on that clue, begin your search now) I asked if I heard correctly, "$10.00?" The guy on the other end of the phone wasn't sure. He put me on hold, and then confirmed. My $13.00 meal would cost me about $26.00 after tax and delivery charge. I promptly said no thanks. And if any of those lady yelpers do start their search for my place, swing by RICE on your way over, and pick me up a kabob so I can avoid that delivery charge!

Obviously I am missing something that everyone else experienced... I got delivery last night from RICE. The boy and I split the Chenjeh and the Koobideh wrap. And while we ate everything (two stars for edible!), I was not impressed. The grape leaves were good. The meat wasn't bad, but it wasn't particularly flavorful... plus, I found a huge vein of gristle running through my biggest chunk of meat, which was a letdown. And the lettuce looked like it'd had a rough weekend. Also, when we ordered, they said it would take one hour. Totally understandable, given that it was Sunday night. But when we called back after an hour and 15 min, just to innocently make sure our order WAS coming, the woman who answered the phone snapped, "I TOLD you an hour, it's ON ITS WAY" and slammed down the phone. Yowza! Maybe I'll try again, next time with a platter.

I love this place. OMG...The Abba rice is delicious - excellent combination of sweet and salty. Order it with the meat which is very tasty and soft, not chewy - great! I've also had the Veggie Melt & Veggie Delights - They're soooooooooooo good!!!! The portions are normal size, but large enough to fill you up. I normally just eat half of my plate and am satisfied. But my hubs eats the entire plate and is not disgustingly full. The hummus is pretty good, and the grape leaves are delicious :-) They're also open till 11 p.m. every night, which is great b/c I normally get out of the gym late. And the service is great, great, great!!! Everyone is super, super nice. They also deliver anywhere on the beach!

house of kebob... i think i like you! very delicious food that is unquestionably very fresh. the portions are generous and the flavors are savory. This fresh, healthy and VERY tasty food gives a new amazing option for those living on sobe in need of delivery.

I'm really not impressed by this place. I'd go back, it's not terrible. It's cheap and the grape leaves were good. But the shrimp I ordered was totally overcooked. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing or went on an off night, but I wouldn't return of my own volition. Still, if a friend wanted to go I wouldn't be opposed to joining them.

I have to say the major downside for me is I always order too much. The entree is definitely enough but I love all the dips and such too so I tend to over do it. It's great!

The lentil soup lacks lentils but the grape leaves are good and the service is slow. My friend Michelle and I decided to have lunch on our summer Friday at the beach. This place has fresh ingredients and beautifully prepared platters. I was in the mood for a soup and some grape leaves. The soup of the day was lentil and it tasted like it came straight out of a can! There were no lentils in the soup, which if you are a vegan or vegetarian, its your protein salvation! The grape leaves, on the other hand were pretty good and so was the hummus. The spices used to cook with at RICE are heavy in garlic and cumin. I would still take a lunch at Pasha's over RICE any day. I spent about $9 on a bottle of water, grape leaves and a small bowl of lentil soup. For the type of place it is and the quality of food, its pricey.

Good food. Decent portion size. A tad bit pricey for "fast" Persian food.
(3)
Jack B.
One of the best casual restaurants on South Beach. Their platters are always fresh tasting and satisfying. The sauce that comes with the dishes is awesome (get extra) and the alcoholic drinks are ridiculously cheap.

First impression is that it's a clean, well organized operation. Kind of a "fast food" Middle Eastern (Persian) joint, you order at a counter and then sit. It took somewhat longer than expected for the food to be delivered to the table, but I assume that's because it was fresh - and when it came out piping hot (grilled chicken, nicely charred) over crisp salad greens, I was super happy. My wife and I devoured the meal - with a tasty, light dressing and well made, flavorful rice. The yogurt sauce/dip made a great addition for the chicken, and I could have eaten another order! For fast food Persian, this is a solid 4 star joint.

Delicious. Stopped by for a late lunch on a Friday afternoon. Ordered the Chenjeh Platter and a side or Dolmeh. Fantastic. The meat was tender, the salad was fresh, the grape leaves had superb flavor. Great meal.

Had very high hopes but we were highly disappointed at the quality of the food and service. The name is Rice House but the rice was the worst I have ever had. I urge the owner to have the rice and koobideh at the Alton location. Horrible, horrible. We can not recommend this place at all.

My favorite restaurant to grab dinner to go! I love Med food, and this easily beats out any of the comp. restaurants in the area. Their chenjeh + salad is great. Once in a while I'll get the grilled vegetables too. I'm not sure where they get their veggies from, but they're the biggest squash & zucchini slices I've ever seen. The falafel is hit or miss, I guess depending on the chef for the evening. The lentil soup is very good too. Delivery takes anywhere from 45 min to an hour, so I usually order at the restaurant to go. It's never more than a 15 minute wait, but well worth it.

This food is so good. I had the chicken and sirloin over greek salad. It was amazing. I live in Hallandale but want to jump in the car to get some more. So good!

On Saturday night, my husband and I decided to go for a quick bite before we watched a late movie. On the way to the theater, we passed this Middle-Eastern restaurant on Alton Road. The menu looked yummy and the prices seemed somewhat reasonable so we went inside and waited in line for about 7-10 min before we were able to place our orders. There were plenty of tables available, but the only problem was most of them were still dirty. We ordered a small hummus & side of pita bread for an appetizer. We both ordered the Jooleh (chicken) wrap and water for drinks. Well, it's a good thing we ordered the hummus because it took about another 10-15 min to finally get the food. Even though we shared a small hummus, it was plenty for 2 people. My husband didn't like the hummus because it was in a plastic cup that was sitting in the self-service refrigerator (not made fresh to order). I personally thought it was awright. Not great, but not bad! I've tried better hummus before. Finally the jooleh wrap came out. It was a pretty big wrap that also came with a pickle spear, one stuffed grape leaf and a tiny cup of dressing that tasted like Caesar. The wrap was so big that I was only able to eat about 3 / 4 of it. The grilled chicken in the wrap was very flavorful and tasted very good but the grape leaves were just "awright." I was slightly disappointed about the grape leaves since it's one of my fav food. The pickle spears were kinda mushy so neither of us ate them. The pita bread was not what we expected- it was a very thin small triangle. It just was "awright", too. One thing that turned me off was the water from the self-service fountain. For some reason it was carbonated (like soda but without any flavor). I would rather drink tap water than that stuff. My husband thought the place was a bit over-priced for the ambiance and food quality. We both agreed the only good thing was the jooleh sandwich. It was very tasty and pretty big for those who like to eat a lot. Everything else was awright- nothing special! I just wish we had fresher hummus & pickles, regular water and cleaner tables. We'll probably come back & do a 'take out' for just the sandwich only. Pro Chicken Sandwich was very good Staff was cordial Con Carbonated water Dirty tables Hummus & pickles not fresh Slightly Over-priced

I'm from D.C. and figured that when I found this place that it would be a disappointment. I am SO happy to report that I was WRONG! Not only was I wrong but they knew the owners of my favorite Afghani restaurant that I used to frequent in DC! This place is awesome and I have turned many people onto it. The prices are about the same that I had paid up North. I hope they stay in business for as long as I stay down here. Thank you for coming to Miami Beach!

The food was horrible! My wife's only request for our "fun food Fridays" was "rice!" So I typed in "best rice in miami" and got this place. I have the Yelp iPhone app so I switched over to the app to read the reviews. The rice sucks, the chicken was over cooked and the salad was "soggy." By far the worst "fun food friday" we have ever had. Next time we want something with rice we will stick to a Chinese dish, at least then the food will have an actual flavor!!

The overall experience was okay, the food good (although the sirloin in my salad was pretty tough), and the staff friendly and helpful. I'll probably try it again, albeit without my 11 year old in tow.

While you can't walk out of here spending less than $10 for lunch, unlike many other places on the beach there is a great value to price ratio. So give it a shot!

Love this place! Had the Chenjeh lunch platter and it was perfect! Juicy tenderloin steak with the yummy salad and jasmine rice. The chicken is also very good! A bit of a wait but totaly worth it - also the portions are pretty big.

I grew up in So Cal and I got spoiled on eating Persian food in Burbank (yes really). So I was really happy to find a restaurant in Miami Beach. I heart koobideh (aka meat meat and more meat) plus with the stuff you sprinkle on top of the rice--heaven. The hummus was fresh and it's a casual place where you can grab a beer and watch some tv while eating some fresh persian food.

Talisha M.
LOVE this place! I heart rice! I go every time I am in sobe and I get the same thing everything: combo w/ sirloin & chicken skewers w/ basmati rice. I have also had the hummus and a veggie wrap. Amazing food!! And that red spice on the table is the best thing ever invented. Yes the food is not cheap but it is well worth the price and is soo filling! And yes you will have to wait for your food as they make it fresh but not long. I have been there over a dozen times and always have a great food with one exception when I took the food to go and I realized I never got the chicken portion of combo. I am a very picky person & have to say this place is easily one of my top five places to eat!!
(5)
Phil H.
I love this place I haven't seen any of the other yelpers comment on the fish wrap and is so good perfect for lunch very tasty. I also love the Chenjeh salad or platter. The service is an area where they could be more consistent the person who takes the orders isn't always the most pleasant person but that's something that I notice a lot in Miami.

Cafeteria atmosphere with menu on the wall, but they take time to prepare nicely cooked char-broiled meat. Good place to stop by after a workout.

Def a must try for Persian food! I love their Chicken wraps and salads and also their Fish wraps and salads. All of their portions are nice size, staff is very friendly, and the food is amazing. Def try it for lunch!

yum. took me a while to try this place out, it doesn't look like much passing by and let's face it, "rice house of kabob" isn't a super-appealing name. but ohhhh, the deliciousness. i would usually get the joojeh platter but the koobideh and others were also very good. it's a good amount of food for the price, and is one of the few places i've actually craved salads from - everything was always very fresh and their feta is great. it's nothing fancy, but great for takeout.

Good food really slow. Its hard to find Persian type food and this place delivers. But it always takes so long to receive food and keeps getting slower.

(4)Samandha C.
tasty. good price. good size. energy food.

(4)Antita B.
Awesome place with good food!! They have healthy options here. I like the chicken platter and that comes with hummus and with your choice of rice or greek salad. Love their hummus. Great for lunch or dinner. Love this place! So tasty but healthy.
(5)Barry W.
Food unloved and mediocre. I could hardly eat the rawish falafel , half dead salad, yucky hummus
(2)Joe J.
(4)Naty K.
(4)Margo B.
(5)Danielle W.
(5)Katie D.
Good fast clean food and healthy as long as u can stay away from the yummy desserts. I love the tilapia platter ask for x tra sauce for the rice its delicious! The tilapia platter comes with salad basmati rice and tilapia
(5)Roger D.
(5)Mohi U.
Pleasant atmosphere, waiters were very helpful. But, the only bad thing was that only the chicken was halal. And the food was very very good.
(4)B S.
This place is so delicious and Clean! The manager always picks up the phone for deliveries and is very sweet and quick. Love the lunch specials and they cater to vegetarian which is a nice change from Miami.
(5)Man S.
one of my best place for lunch. fresh meal. good price and clean. i love the Kubideh which is the ground meat. the lunch special is so good that it has salad, rice, hummus and the kubideh all in one for around 9$.
(5)Anita G.
Great food!
(5)Jae-Min K.
We went here for lunch several times and it was always such a joy for our taste nerves :) The best thing is that the restaurant offers very fresh and especially healthy food. The lunch menus are more than affordable and 100% worth its money. We will definitely come back and I can only highly recommend you this restaurant.
(5)Camille O.
(2)Mayuri M.
(4)jaelanne s.
(5)Amy M.
My favorite place to order from In south beach! Everything tastes amazing and is cooked perfectly. Wait time is a little long but worth it by any means. Pricey , but also worth it. Good portion sizes
(5)Daniel K.
Rice was amazing... Surprised my girlfriend with a visit here - she said everything tasted like her mom had made it...
(5)Hector L.
Great restaurant, healthy food, great prices. They have a lot of good lunch specials and the people who work there are very nice.
(4)CLAUDIO L.
Mediterranean casual. Great food at good prices! Portion sizes can be pretty big so come with an appetite or share with a friend.
(4)Maria K.
(4)Shelby B.
They do a great job w the joojeh / chicken platter. It's like $12 and you get a ton of delicious chicken and rice as well as a full salad.

Great healthy food, reasonable prices, good portions, fast, easy, always a winner.
(4)Daniel B.
Seasoning on their meats are just perfect.i usually get a super combo w/ rice. I think 3 people can eat from that. They also hav sauce to dunk the meat. Great place!
(4)Gustavo A. L.
(4)Eric H.
Delicious, fresh Middle Eastern food at a great price.
(4)Jerry P.
(4)Luca V.
Incredible food, very healthy as well. The service, however, is the pitts!
(4)Krista M.
This was one of my fave places!
(4)Larry P.
Solid, healthy, and flavorful food. Not the quality of Persian you'd get in LA, but does the job for South Beach. Staff is attentive and friendly. Chenjeh rice is a standout.
(3)Kaylin O.
(4)Adam C.
(5)Kathryn S.
(4)Rob G.
I noticed 2 out of 10 times the steak is gristly. Don't ruin a good thing with cheap cuts HOK don't do it :-))
(3)Alex g.
(3)Luis M.
(4)Marc R.
(4)Jeff G.
(4)Joseluis A.
my friend wanted to go for dinner so she suggested rice. i had been here before, a while ago... i was a bit disappointed that even though they have a tv, they werent showing game 3, heat vs mavs. whats up with that? i went ahead and ordered a grilled meat platter. i cant recall what it was called. it sure was good. the grilled meat was well seasoned and tender. the rice was good too, gotto love that tumeric. my friend ordered the same dish and we also shared an order of grilled veggies. these were good too, not overdone. the veggies were all juicy and crisp. grand total, $30. 3 1/2 stars, not quite 4 stars until they find a remote control for their tv. lets go heat!
(3)Jose M.
(4)A A.
Disgusting and unsanitary!! I walked in the door and the first thing I saw was the cashier PICK HER NOSE! This cashier actually stuck her finger directly into her nose right in front of me. Totally unacceptable in a place of business that serves food and claims to be healthy. YUCK!!
(1)Flor H.
(4)John W.
i've eaten here twice and on both occasions had the same meal. (It was that good.) The Chenji Rice platter consists of basmati rice, grilled tenderloin and a salad. The meat was grilled to perfection (about medium) and the rice was also good. Could have used a tinge more seasoning but that's obviously very subjective. Definitely will continue to visit.
(4)Alyssa G.
House of Rice catered our store opening this past weekend. I could not stop eating the rice!! I'm from out of town as support, and am so impressed with how clean (healthy) the food was and how light and delicious it was. Can you put a location in Sarasota???
(5)Debbie K.
Love the kubideh platter!! Service is friendly and pickup is so easy with parking in back.
(5)Mehdi O.
I was looking for a nice kebab place but I was very dispaointed. Over price, food is dry and doesn't have anything of a kebab from turkey.
(2)Muath A.
(2)Arlene A.
Food rated 4 *, but attitude of a Lebanese dude makes it a zero star.Jason, most kind & receptive.
(1)Arilys P.
The food is average. The service is fair. However, not just myself but others have had their credit card defrauded by an employee. Beware
(1)Summer E.
Love everything about this place! Super yummy rice and beef ! The best part is the little sauce they give you, not sure what's in it but it's delicious
(5)Ian F.
Best kabobs I've ever had, hands down. I'm eating chicken and beef right now and I'm going back for seconds. Tony the manager rocks my face off. Super cool guy.
(5)Bruce R.
The food is always fresh and delicious. I always order the fish platter. I love this place!
(5)Anum K.
Excellent chicken kebabs (halal). I had the chicken platter and basbousa. The chicken was fresh and tender, which comes with a big portion of Greek salad.
(5)Norma G.
(4)Anthony S.

(5)Nav M.
(3)Linda G.
I have never been disappointed here the food is excellent. The beef tenderloin is delicious the hummus, and all the sides. Very good dessert as well. the atmosphere is very nice too. I recommend it highly
(5)Dylon J.
(5)German B.
(2)Dallas A.
Messed up my food, put cheese on it anyways and I'm Lactose intolerant and they refuse to deliver a fixed one, no manager on duty! DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!
(1)Kristie J.
Worst hummus ever. And while the combo platters were tasty, all 3 of us ended up with mild food poisoning.
(1)Danielle A.
Protein is tender and tasty! Love Mediterranean food. This spot is a good reference for almost-authentic, trustworthy platters.
(4)Peter R.
(2)Jordan N.
(5)Alissa W.
(5)Mike S.

(2)Priscila L.
I'm hooked on the Tilapia wrap: the fish is fresh, and the garlic sauce is delectable. I also like their side of hummus. But I thought the falafel is quite bland; missing the flavor profile of Persian cuisine.
(4)Eve C.
(4)Parisa S.
(4)Tommy S.
(4)Dannielle C.
One of my fav healthy choices! I crave this place at least once a week! Try the fish salad. It is so healthy and tasty!!
(5)mike b.
(1)Claudio P.
tried this place yesterday on the request of a friend.......I ordered something(don't remember the name) with a burrito thing.........everything was really good!!! the rice,meat,burrito.....it was all very great tasting!!!
(3)Amy S.
I love Rice as my go to meal when I'm in a rush or don't have time to cook. I always find things fresh, flavorful and fairly priced. Love the Falafel and Chicken Platter "Joojeh". Also a big fan of the grape leaves. Glad to have this on Sobe!
(5)Elizabeth S.
(2)Jessie L.
(4)Navid O.
It's a persian "Fast Food" not a restaurant... the rice was not cooked properly!
(3)M P.
If you are a fan of persian food, you can find a very good kebab here with fair price.
(5)Annabella S.
(5)Adam C.
(1)Virginia B.
(2)Ivonne Marie C.
(5)Michele C.
house of kebob... i think i like you! very delicious food that is unquestionably very fresh. the portions are generous and the flavors are savory.

The rice they serve is very very good...everybody should try...

(4)Saleem M.
