It was great! Definitely worth hitting up. We went there for our second anniversary. In particular, The guacamole is nice and a little unique. The salad with artichoke hearts was also very good. Surprisingly, their Spinach pizza was amazing. But what was really nice was the staff. They all knew it was my anniversary, were very attentive, and fast. And in the end the bill was 130 for 5 dishes, drink, dessert, and tip. Pretty reasonable for a Restaurant on the beach with the name brand of the chef.

Ok so I've so been dying to try this place and Lordy it almost killed me!!! This is only the rating for outside seating as they would not allow seating inside in the day and I quote "because it's golden" and we only sit in the inside for night time! So with that, good luck with the heat! How on Earth do you not have Fans for your guests and whom you advertise "brunch"??? Brunch???? NO brunch, only a la carte, in the September Heat!!! That is just ridiculous!! Bottomless??? Only in little prohibition martini glasses, so that means refills every 15 minutes and it's extra! Food was worth 3 stars,. There is an automatic 18% gratuity included in your check. *** Valet, is not complimentary as stated, it was a whopping $15.00. So all in all, would I be back, heck no, but they try hard, and hey it's surely lot better than Fontainebleau!!!!!

Matador, MataDON'T... at least, not yet. ABC Kitchen in New York is one of top three my favorite restaurants. J&G Grill was another local favorite (when Bradley Kilgore-now at Alter- was there). All have Chef Jean-Georges in common. I resisted the urge to visit Matador right when it opened. Word on the street was "they opened before they were ready." Finally, the time felt right to visit my third Jean-Georges venture and IT. WAS. DISAPPOINTING. Was I really at the former Seville Hotel? It's so cool to have grown up here and see its transformation through the years. While I have a lot to say against the Delano-led "if it's South Beach it must be all white" decor, they really did a beautiful job with the hotel and restaurant interiors. Matador Room is a sunken circular room with high ceilings, inside the hotel. Our party of four noticed how muggy it was in there right away and hoped it was just because of the constant opening of the doors to the exterior area. It wasn't. It only got hotter as the night went on. The poor staff walked around wearing head to toe white suits and kept sweating up a storm. After an hour or so of mentioning it to our waiter and manager, someone came by and confirmed there was a problem and they were trying to work on it. By then, we were ready to move on and left to have dessert elsewhere. Anywhere. As long as the AC was working! But let's rewind. Still initially excited to try this new restaurant, we dove right in ordering quite a lot of items off the menu. The house HOT SAUCE- Sitting inconspicuously next to a small and dainty flower arrangement (similar to those at ABC), is a small bottle of their hot sauce. If you like it hot, this is it! Loved it! Sweet pea GUACAMOLE- Great with or without the peas. Not sure the peas add anything. SUCKLING PIG- NOT like the one at ABC I love so much and a little on the dry side. FLORIDA COBIA- Good CRISPY EGG SALAD- Marcona almonds and white asparagus: good, but we were expecting the egg to flow out once cut. Instead, it sat there firmly...overcooked. Unless it's meant to be that way? Doubt it. HUDSON VALLEY FOIE GRAS- Seasoned just right, but the texture was painfully off. I've never had "grainy" foie gras before. ARROZ CON POLLO- Gutsy to have this on the menu in (the very hispanic) South Florida. The chicken and chicharron topping tasted right on point, but the rice was significantly overcooked. BLACK GROUPER TACOS- Great! Then again, it would take a lot to mess these up. IBERICO HAM AND CHEDDAR FRITTERS- great! AVOCADO PIZZA- I like salty. I usually put salt on my salt. This one? Beyond salted. Avocado-jalapeño-cilantro-Âlime-onion pizza was promising. In fact, I knew I was ordering just off the photos alone I had seen before even arriving. If you look closely at my shot, you can see the sea-salt grains on it. Couldn't finish it. WHITE GULF SHRIMP in AGUA DIABLO- Bananas and almonds. Different. I now know I don't want bananas anywhere near my shrimp. Ever. Again. We ordered everything in stages given Matador adopts the lazy "everything comes out when it comes out" theory. This way, we somewhat had control of pacing our dinner out. Our waiter was nice, but often flustered. I can't say I blame him. He had to keep wiping the sweat off his forehead as we talked to him all night. Several of us were in touch with someone from management often throughout the night as well. Because of this, the restaurant graciously sent out the fritters and the egg salad as an apology: a nice gesture on their part. Some other things were also taken off our bill. While nice and all, I just wish we would have been able to enjoy the night (mostly) flawlessly and happily paid for it all. One of the managers said he would give me his card in the hopes I would e-mail him my concerns. OK. Sure. Still waiting for the card. Several weeks later, we realized that our bill wasn't split and charged in half as we had requested that night. We had been in such a rush to leave, no one noticed. Instead, both couples got charged for the entire dinner. It's the dinner that keeps on giving. Again, our waiter just probably couldn't concentrate given how hot it was in there that night and rang it up twice. Lately, I've had a bad string of new restaurant visits. South Florida is H O T (and I'm not talking about AC this time around)! I feel like everyone wants to be down here and thinks they can get away with opening just any restaurant without truly researching the Miami market. That's a big mistake. Miami has the attention span of a toddler in a candy store who chugged a Coke for breakfast. Unless something changes soon, I don't give Matador too long in our city. Much like Beachcraft, you cannot go on "celebrity" name alone. Get to it Matador. Bring us some of that Jean Georges' magic!

I would give 5 stars just for the Arroz Con Pollo. Doesn't sound like it would be amazing but best dish of the night. And, when you walk into the Edition (it's inside this hotel), you feel like you're in Miami - all white, Diddy Music Video-style. Boss. Haha However, only 3.5 stars because the whole experience was diluted by how slow service + kitchen. Our server was great but wasn't even sure what dishes we already received AND sides came at the end of the meal. I've never had that happen anywhere. We ordered something from each section: -Stone Crab Claws (Paprika Mustard): Just okay. I feel like Joe's was better & cheaper. -Cured Meat and Cheese Board: Exactly what it sounds like. Nothing to write home about. - Sweet Pea Guacamole (with Warm Crunchy Tortillas): This was tasty! I would order again as an app. - Peekytoe Crab and Corn Fritters (Smoked Chili Tartar Sauce): Not bad as well. Would also order again - Crunchy Potato Nuggets (Spicy-Tangy Sauce, Rosemary Aioli): Like the corn fritters...deep fried. so you really can't go wrong Pizzas: *Avocado (Jalapeno, Cilantro and Lime): This is like the avocado toast I make in morning but in Pizza form. Genius. *Black Truffle and Fontina Cheese: Didn't get to try this one as there were only 8 slices and like 16 of us but was a hit at the table *Crispy BBQ Pork Tacos *Red Onion Pickles and Cilantro): I actually really enjoyed this. Salty punch of flavor. *Scallops (Romanesco Cauliflower, Green Chili Butter and Mint): Prepared perfectly and I Liked the cauliflower paring with scallops Sides: *Broccoli Rabe, Soffritto and Lime: Just okay..nothing special. *Potato Puree with Queso Fresco and Sea Salt: DELICIOUS because I love Quesco Fresco. This was basically mashed potatoes. *Sauteed Corn with Manchego, Jalapeño & Lime: Street vendor corn is more flavorful/tastier than this. Dessert: Skip it all. We tried everything from the churros to Salted Caramel Flan to the Tresh Leches Cake and cookie platter..it all tasted old for some reason or the texture wasn't right.

Initially, I didn't understand why this place didn't receive very good reviews, but then it hit me... The vibe of this restaurant is immediately killed by the kind of people who gather here around the bar, as well as the waiters who aren't really that passionate about selling the food. Something else that maybe could have impacted the reviews was that the restaurant inside is awkwardly bright. Not very romantic. The good thing is though that the outside deck is BEAUTIFUL and romantic but of course only good when it's cold outside. That being said, all the above is based off the external factors, NOT the food. If this was a review just about the food I would give it 5 stars like I initially did. Every dish was so tasty and I personally think it was worth the price because I know that there was probably a lot of love and passion went into the food. Basically, I loved the food here but unfortunately I don't see myself coming back here anytime soon because it's just not my kind of vibe. Unless you're 40+ and kind of mean, you wouldn't like this place.

Everything it is said to be. Jean-George's reputation is very well represented and lives up to all the hype! Miami's finest dining. Right up there with all of NYC 5 star restaurants. This chef knows what he is doing for sure. Very talented and it shows in the food.

Beautiful restaurant inside the slinky Edition hotel (Marriotts). Great service Jason ... The tuna tartare with a nice kick & very fresh cilantro .. Wild gulf shrimp - omg - in a chipotle like infused olive oil Suckling pig deboned and put together in a square ... The skin - perfectly crunchy & greaseless ... The shredded pork meat - ummm so tasteful ...probably because it's been slowed cooked for 6 hours !!! The staff is dressed in white ... Dessert looks awesome but I'm too full to try !!!! We did not have reservation but dressed nice for a 6pm dinner on a Thursday night. By the time we left at 8 pm, the dining room was full !

My only reason for not giving this place 5 stars is our awkward waiter. He was very soft spoken and when I asked for suggestions he seemed confused. The food is WAY too good to not have better servers here. The staff was very kind, not rude or anything crazy, just need more training and confidence in the dishes. My 4 stars are all for the food! We had The bull cocktail, Spicy tuna Tartare- a little hot for me but husband loved it, the best calamari I've ever eaten, crunchy fish tacos, suckling pig (heaven on earth) and the molten choc cake with cappuccinos. Everything was AMAZING!!! Even the one dish that was too hot for me was so yummy I ate it anyways. Overall a very good experience! We are staying at The Edition, and we feel so lucky this restaurant is right here!

The ambiance in this restaurant is amazing. It is very romantic and located in a hotel that has a bowling alley and skating rink in the basement. However the hostess was a little on the rude side, and didn't seem like she knew what she was doing. My husband and I asked if we could sit at a bigger table, and she said they were reserved for bigger parties. We were there for over 2 hours and there were 6 bigger tables that were never sat in. The food was tasty but portions extremely small, even for tapas. However, I may go back and give them another shot.

I like to consider myself a bit of a foodie, a food snob if you will. Additionally I love a good fine dining establishment with great atmosphere and decor. So with that I was quite excited to try the Matador room while staying as a guest at the Edition hotel. The Matador Room is simply a fine dining joint that is trying too hard. From the "Claw" (Date Night Movie -- watch and you'll understand - You're Welcom) staff at the Hostess stand who are oh so Miami pretentious, to the "don't call us tapas" menu, everything about this place is just "meh." Listen, I love the Marriott and as a guest of the Edition I wanted to love this restaurant, but the bottom line is if you truly compare it against the tier of restaurants it's trying to compete with, it grades below them all on every mark. Service was slow and frankly inattentive for a table of 2. The menu was not fine dining. We tried the arroz con pollo (rice with chicken), flatbread, broccolini and few others that I literally can't remember. Enough said. Finally the room itself, a big circular setting with insanely high ceilings and equally insanely on top of one another tables (hopefully tables next to you are having interesting conversation because you're going to feel like you're part of it!) is just not intimate nor cool. It feels like an airport hanger with no redeeming qualities. Prices weren't as outrageous as I expected given other reviews and given that this is Miami. That said, prices didn't really matter. The restaurant was a let down no matter what I paid. Outdoor seating is likely recommended as the pools at the Edition, especially at night are beautiful.

I really enjoyed this place. Food is served family style which is great for an omnivore like myself. The best thing all night was the valrhona chocolate cake, very reminiscent of the chocolate bomb of Pacfic Time days. I can't stop thinking of it. The truffle pizza was amazing. The grilled snapper and grouper tacos were done just right. My group loved the decor. It was very simple understated elegance. We had a nice booth with no neighbors which was like having a private dining room.

Wife and I came for dinner while we stayed at the Miami edition hotel for a week. . Food is wonderful as expected. (Been to the flagship restaurant in nyc) Thumbs up especially to the octopus, fish tacos, truffle pizza and dessert. The attentive and patient service by our waiter Jason really made the evening wonderful- he did not rush us as there were so many items on the menu we wanted to try. Yes Jean-George's is an amazing chef, but the whole experience is important- including the waitstaff team. The -1 star was really due to the tall floor manager who appeared very anxious the whole time- he would frantically pace the room over and over, causing a bit of uneasiness to us that was very out of place from the rest of the pleasant atmosphere.
(4)Alex M.
The room itself is large and there's enough space so you won't feel claustrophobic. We had scallops that were cooked perfectly, the Diablo water shrimp, and split pea guacamole. All were exceptional. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone for a date night, large party, or night on the town.
(4)Susan T.
I don't know how this place is getting such great reviews. We ordered an assortment of plates and it just wasn't memorable. If the arroz con pollo is the stand out dish, I must be missing something. The hotel is gorgeous, our server was great, but everything was just "ok".

I was very pleased with this place. We came on a Thursday night to celebrate a girl friends birthday. It was pretty slow when we arrived at 7 so we were promptly seated. A waiter was there within seconds to greet us and take our drink orders. As well as explain the menu to us. We ordered an array of dishes. I can't be specific as to what but I can say that there wasn't one thing I didn't like. We got a couple of glasses of win end at the end they brought a cake and ice cream for my friends birthday. No one sang happy birthday and they did bring the plates before the desert which tipped my friend to what was coming since we had not ordered anything else but I will give a pass on that since we had a great night. We sat outside by the pool where they were having an event that catered to over 800 people. It was just starting to fill up when we were leaving but nice people watching. My only complaint is it took a while for our car but I guess that was due to the event. The interior was all decorated in white. This was a nice touch. I would say this is a great place for a date or a girls night out. And the music was good too. A cross between older Latin and Buddha lounge. Two thumbs up or five stars!
(5)Greg M.
Fantastic setting and decent food. Not the type of meal you're talking about for weeks, but the setting seems to overcome that. The host set up seemed unwelcoming, there was 4-5 couples waiting to be address. It took 3-4 minutes before someone even acknowledged our presence. I'm ambivalent and would probably recommend coming for a drink versus a meal.
(3)Felipe Z.
The night I discovered this place we had been bar hopping catering to tourist from up north and shortly after walking in I began to feel like the tourist. Absolutely beautiful setting. Somewhat of an oasis food, delicious, ambiance like no other and the drinks are sooo delicious. The decor is something from a movie in some paradise all with impeccable service. In addition to the multiple indoor and outdoor bars if you make your way downstairs to what the call they basement they have another bar, bowling alley and an ice skating rink available for you to use with staff ready to help you with you're shoe/skate size. I don't remember having so much fun than that night and I would recommend this place a million times over for anyone looking for a great night out in this one-stop-shop of fun.

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!!!!! The venue is spectacular!!!! Went there for a bachelorette party (16 of us total). We ate outside and i am still thinking about the hanging plants on the ceiling and the tables, general set up- so beautiful. The perfect restaurant for any celebration! Outside seemed more lively than inside- so for big groups I would recommend eating outside. The food was delicious! The serve time was a little long but that could be due to the size of our group. I highly recommend checking this restaurant out! Super posh!!
(5)Syrel R.
I'm only giving this restaurant 3 stars because for the amount of money you spend, the food was just okay. The ambience is absolutely gorgeous but that's about the only wow factor. The drinks are pretty solid as well but not for $18 a pop. I had the Mexican bull and it was very good (tequila based drink). But the white wine sangria was executed poorly. The addition of whiskey just overpowered the white wine and the fruit. I wasn't a fan (especially not for $15 a pop). I went with my mom, aunt and sister so we decided that instead of getting an entree each we would get about 5-6 different dishes and share so we could taste various things. We got the sweet pea guacamole and that was a nice surprise. We also ordered the tuna tartare and it had a nice twist. The truffle pizza was actually pretty good though. Can't complain about that one. The tacos are also pretty good but the only one worth getting is the fried fish taco. It's a flavor explosion in your mouth. Now for dessert we decided to do the same thing as the entrees. We ordered the almond cake, the flan and the churros. The only dessert that was actually worth the money or the calories was the almond cake. It was light and crunchy and the guava sorbet on top of turron complimented it nicely. Miami is a gold mine for restaurants with great chefs and in my opinion this one doesn't fall in that category. It's subpar and I don't think I will be back.

My wife and I tried matador for lunch one day and another day for dinner. I love how they include habanero sauce at every table as I'm a spice fan. Lunch was great. Split a few things. the meat and cheese plate- was awesome. The sweet pea Guacamole was very addictive. I found myself pouring habanero on it, eating it with meat and cheese, and loving it. Crispy bbq pork tacos were very good. Service was great, we sat outside and really enjoyed our time and our meal. Dunner was great. I loved all the tastes. The mitake mushrooms with goat cheese was probably my favorite. Most of the items will not fill you up, If you are hungry I would suggest ordering about 2-3 items per person. Consider each item like a sushi roll, unless ordering the pizza which is more of a filling item. Service was great again and I enjoyed time with friends there in the great atmosphere. The server explained the history of the restaurant which put is in a good mood as soon as we were seated.
(4)Jeff W.
Had dinner at the outside bar portion of the restaurant. Really enjoyed everything. Vinnie our bartender was great. We had the sweet pea guacamole, hearts of Palm salad, grouper tacos, and caramelized sea scallops. Everything was perfect. Scallops were particularly good. It had been raining earlier and the outside bar and seating were pretty empty. Vinnie made sure we had a fun time. Recommend you plan to eat outside if you don't have a reservation. They only take reservations on a portion of the capacity, so don't worry if you can't book a table, you should be able to get in anyway.

Just went to Matador this weekend with 6 friends. We had a 9pm reservation, we arrived on time to be told they were running 20 minutes late, we ended up sitting down at 10:15 , over an hour later. We sat at the bar area, a gorgeous place with great looking people and fun atmosphere , had a few drinks while waiting for over the hour, they didn't even offer us anything to compensate , but anyways we finally sat down. The food is good, service was very good. I have to say that service was better than the food. They talked about the famous 3 Michelin star chef, it didn't feel like that at all. Like I said food was good but not great as your would expect from a Michelin star chef, Overall was a pleasant place to be on a. Saturday night if you go for the atmosphere and fun place. Don't think I will be back again.

Located inside the newly opened Edition Seville is the chic Matador Room by chef Jean-Georges. It is a beautiful indoor bar and restaurant, adorned with Spanish matador pictures and flair, which extends outside to the amazing patio pool area. We sat inside for one of their signature must try pineapple elixir cocktails infused with rosemary and served in a chill copper pineapple. It was really great. The Matador Room is such a nice space. I can't wait to try out the restaurant.
(5)Tyler L.
I stayed at the Edition this past weekend and was able to enjoy Matador for drinks twice and breakfast on the porch another day. The actual Matador room has an awesome feel (despite the sparse crowd due to its recent opening). The outdoor space is also going to be a crowd-pleaser, as it is just an awesome program. While they had some typical hiccups of a soft opening (missing items on the menu, inconsistent service, whacky timing of food delivery), there are some inherent flaws for Matador. Pure and simply it is overpriced for what you are getting. I had a drink in at SLS, Delano, Shore Club, and The James this weekend. Specifically I had a makers mark manhattan in each hotel. Matador was priced $2-$5 more than each of these bars. The Edition is not yet there in charging this premium despite how nice the space and property are. The food was definitely above average as hotel food goes, but $20 for eggs & salsa is a bit extreme in my book. This ignores the fact that my food was brought 15 minutes before my girlfriends. This is restaurant 101, bring people their food at the same time (especially if it is two people and double especially if it is breakfast). Again this was a soft opening and I am sure they will work out the kinks...that said I am still not sure the value will be there afterwards. Still worth checking out for a drink once this place is cranking whether you're a local or a guest.

I'm here fr my birthday day !! Food was really good . Services was excellent.. Fantastic food love there octopus and stake

4 solid stars...5 stars for the space... This is the kind of place you like coming to over and over again. We came on the early side to avoid the MB night crazies, but stayed long enough to see how popular this place is with the local crowd...and not just tourists. That's always a good sign to me. Although the room is elegant, the menu was truly approachable and wasn't stuffy in any way. Prices were good, if not a little on the high side, but when you factor in the beauty of the inside space, the lushness and intimacy of the outdoor space, the legions of staff, and solid beautiful (and plenty of) Florida fare...it was cheap. We had the Tuna tartare - a rather small dish with plenty of taste and delicious textural surprises; Florida Grilled Octopus - gorgeous sauce with perfectly cooked pieces - soft (and not chewy); Mushroom and Kale Tacos - OH HELLO! soooooo good; a special salad made up of Florida produce, which was in season and brilliantly put together; Pekeytoe Crab fritters - one order is not enough...even with only two people; potato nuggets - good, but not great - the BBQ sauce was a bit overwhelming; Arroz con Pollo - delicious and a must, but definitely not like anything served on Callo Ocho (which is a good thing); and a plate of Olives. Two desserts rounded out the evening - Then the ambulance was called to wheel us away. Anyway, I will definitely be back soon and try out all the items we didn't order...and bring back more friends to have a greater wealth of options. Home run for JGV!

We requested a selection of vegetarian options and were blown away by Chef Jeremy Ford and his team, eqch course was more delicious than the first and the service was wonderful. We will be back.
(5)Deborah J.
Sweet pea guac is amazing. Must try. The truffle pizza is also incredible. The tacos were ok. We ordered the fish ceviche too, that was really good. The foigrais melted in your mouth. The outside is definitely the way to go. Inside is a little cold and blah in my opinion. The outside was really beautiful and made the dinner enjoyable.
(4)Kat S.
Beautiful and delicious. Attentive waitstaff that live to serve and make sure you have a new, clean plate after each dish, a refill on water before you even realize that you need more. We had the spicy tuna tartar, white gulf shrimp with the agua Diablo, suckling pig, octopus, arroz con pollo, and the vanilla fritters with Mexican chocolate for dinner. Every single plate was on point. Balanced, gorgeously presented and each plate was the perfect amount. Highly recommend.
(5)Mindy G.
Sexy sultry bar. Expensive cocktails but the bartenders put a nice spin on the typical drinks. The outdoor patio overlooking the pool is gorgeous. String lights have a super romantic feel. The hotel is beautiful. All of our dinner dishes were great. We tried 2 pizzas - definitely order the truffle one. The guac was delicious. My fav were the mushrooms . The scallops were highly recommended by our waiter but were the least favorite. The chicken tacos were also well liked by our table. You can't go wrong here! Go sit outside and enjoy
(5)Roy S.
Much better than my first visit, from a food only perspective--though I have only sampled a couple of items and really need to go back for dinner for a full experience. Anyways, the chicken tacos were truly exceptional and packed with flavor in stark contrast with the Cuban sandwich I had on my previous visit that was bland and should be taken off the menu. Good, attentive service and very nice ambiance by the poolside. This last dish should really get 4.5 stars. Will return again and glad I gave this new Jean-Georges spot a second shot.
(4)Jeanette H.
We were a group of 5 sharing foods so we ordered mainly different kinds of tacos. They were great but nothing so special. Decor was very nice. Our server though wasn't too attentive. I asked for some wine halfway into the meal... She forgot. I wasn't too craving for it anyway. Dessert -- whatever I had I already forgot..(as I am writing this review a month later... But I surely would remember if it was amazing. Definitely some room for improvement.
(3)David S.
Vintage dining room. Excellent food and service.
(5)Roman R.
Second experience and not a good one! First time we came everything was pretty much fine, except the scallops with truffles which were dry. But tonight let me tell you, I took a first bottle of champagne at the bar the guy was filling the glasses up to the roof... I started to complain seems to know better than me what he was doing! Unfortunately for him I have a prestige wine distribution business for more than 10 years! Then we get into the restaurant and for the second bottle of champagne the same mistake filling the glasses too much, the waiter starts to give me a serious attitude! Then slow service with the room half empty on a Friday evening, cold food, and the check coming before I asked for it and we even finished eating! Let me tell you none of us will come back! And to finish the delightful meal, the espresso came with more coffee outside of the cup than inside, but it didn't seem to bother the waiter!! Then I asked for the service to be excluded from the bill and they charged 18% straight, I had to go back two times to the manager to be able to charge the service fees I want!!
(1)A B.
Okay food, not great, not bad, just okay. The hotel is very pretty, white, shiny and the outdoor section by the bar is so beautiful. I don't remember everything we ordered but the filet stuck out and so did the Avacado Pizza, prices are on par with the rest of Miami, I was around $500 for a party of 4.

My husband recently managed to get a reservation here on Valentines Day. We had never been to the hotel or restaurant but had heard great things so we were looking forward to a wonderful night. We arrived a little early and had a drink at the bar which was slammed. I ordered the Mexican Bull and it was pretty good but very strong. While we waited, we decided to venture around the hotel. We eventually discovered an ice rink and bowling alley downstairs! I didn't know the hotel had all these amenities so it was a nice surprise. Once we ventured back to the restaurant and were seated, we ordered the Spicy Tuna Tartare, Mushroom Pizza, Grilled NY Strip, and Arroz con Pollo. The Spicy Tuna Tartare was a tiny portion but it was amazing. The Mushroom Pizza was also mouthwatering. The Grilled NY Strip was ok - nothing out of this world. The Arroz con Pollo was the best dish but for some reason it took what seemed like hours to make. Our first waiter took our order and vanished for the rest of the night without notice. We received our food from different people and after a while, a second official waiter eventually subbed in. He came out long after we had received the other dishes and gave us Sweet Pea Guacamole with chips to apologize for the wait for the Arroz con Pollo. Luckily, we weren't in a hurry and the guacamole was surprisingly delicious so we were effectively placated :) In general, I really enjoyed the restaurant's food, drinks and ambiance. While the service could have been better, Valentines Day is probably one of the busiest nights of the year for any restaurant so I think its safe to give them a break this time.
(4)Patrick G.
Came there with some clients from NYC, service was terrible! Food is ok, disappointed by the scallops with truffles couldn't finish the plate! The wine list is poor! The bar was boring. For sure won't be back!

An Experience to Remember I went to dinner at The Matador Room about a week ago with my beautiful secretary/girlfriend. Upon arriving at The Matador Room, I felt a unique euphoria, one can only achieve upon excretion. I was promptly seated by a well groomed, taller gentleman with kind hazel eyes. We ordered as an appetizer the crispy calamari with dill aoli. Through my peripherals I spotted him- a tall, dark, shiny and well put together gentleman walking towards us bringing us the food. I immediately felt threatened and insecure. Upon arriving at out table, he ever so eloquently said "Hello my name is Cameron, I will be your food runner this evening". After one word from his precious lips I felt more secure than a baby in its mothers womb. My secretary/girlfriend and I savored that calamari all the way up to the very last piece, and it was devine. Upon finishing the calamari I got my first smell of it- the aroma was something one could describe as the fart of a unicorn. In the horizon I see him: My Tall Nubian Prince bringing us the truffle pizza. After carefully and meticulously presenting the food at our table it was time for us to indulge. The aroma did not do it any justice. This pizza tasted better after every bite I had. It was made for the gods, but for some reason, they served it to us mere mortals. If it were possible I would like for Matador Room to cater the birth of my future child by bringing me only Truffle Pizzas. Once I was done eating The Pizza of the Gods, it came time for the dessert. I ordered the Passion Fruit Sorbet. Lo and behold, my tall African brother from a distant mother brought out to me very promptly a passion fruit sorbet, it was marvelous. Upon taking a bite I was instantly transported into the Amazons of Brazil and was eating with the local tribesmen and villagers participating in their local traditions. Needless to say, I had an extraordinary dinner. If it were possible to adopt this son of Eden, Cameron, I would, but it is forbidden- as I've researched it. I just want Matador Room to know what a remarkably hidden gem of a food runner they have in their midst and how grateful I am for his gracious existence.

Hands down best food so far on our week long trip to south beach!!! The matador room is a beautiful spot situated in the Hotel Edition. We sat on there beautiful terrace!! Started with the sweet pea guacamole, followed by arugula salad with fennel shaved Parmesan, shrimp in a chile sauce, pesky crab & corn fritters, grouper tacos all small plates Awesome!! Grilled octopus, and snapper entrees!! Followed by Flan for desert !! Incredible !!!! Highly recommend the Matador room!! Chef Daniel Roy is a star for sure!!! Can't wait to come back!!

Very good restaurant in the new Edition Hotel. Have been twice for lunch. Looks like only the outside is open at that time, but that is fine with me. Gorgeous setting overlooking the pool and ocean. Very classy and no trashy Foutainbleau/Jersey Shore vibe here, thank goodness. Portions are a little on the small side but not bad. Prices are reasonable. Would definitely return.

We had a great time at Matador restaurant last weekend. We ordered plenty of dishes to share among 6 people so we had a little bit of everything. I can tell you that the Arroz con Pollo and the Pork Tacos are one of the best I've tried and it will definitely make me come back for more. We also shared the Truffle Pizza which was good but not great. The Jamon Iberico came with only 5 or 6 very very thin slices of it which I would not order again for sure. The service was good and the ambiance was typical chic Miami Beach style. Very recommended for good food and drinks with friends.

I've been to many Marriotts- and was really anticipating the Edition opening and what they had to offer. The bar the Matador was nice looking. The drinks however- I thought were quite weak and the service was sub par! Why sub par? I couldn't understand why, in such a hip new hotel. The staff sat around an chatted with one another while my drink say empty. Why? I understood when I got the bill.. Gratuity included! Why make an effort when you're guaranteed an 18% tip? Did they think I was a tourist? Sorry folks I live in SoBe. Go to the Broken Shaker instead for attentive service and way better drinks!

I took my boyfriend here to celebrate his birthday. First of all, the place is gorgeous! Unlike a few of the other reviewers mentioned, our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable. The sommelier was also very helpful. We had ordered a brand of wine that neither of us had tried before. The som came out and told us it wasn't one of her favorites and that she didn't think we'd enjoy it. She recommended a different wine that ended up being delicious, as well as less expensive! Everything we ate was delicious, except for dessert, which was nothing spectacular.
(4)Stephanie P.
Went with friends and it was a blast. Get the guacamole, grilled octopus, tacos and mushrooms. So yummy and the service was awesome. Beautiful restaurant!
(5)Marat Y.
Place is very clean and service is excellent. Food is for someone who likes to try new things, but to say I will come back here to eat - probably not! FYI, prepare to pay $25 for valet/parking!

Food Service Ambience Crowd Vibe Staff All top notch GO! It's that's simple
(5)Tracey F.
Food is great service sucks Waiter has been to our table once in an hour As much as the food is great it wasn't busy and the service sucked

Amazing venue - hotel EDITION is beautiful, as is Matador Room. I loved the bar area, but we sat for dinner in the dining room. It feels retro and chic - very Miami. Food was fabulous really across the board, but must-have standouts for me were maitake mushrooms with goat cheese, fresno pepper vinaigrette, grilled maine lobster with drawn butter and smoked chilies, marinated grilled ny strip with chimichurri and fries, and arroz con pollo with crackling skin and lemon zest. (We ate a lot.) To me these were simple, yet playful dishes, cooked to perfection! I'll definitely be back for more. There's some sort of cocktail that comes in a golden pinneapple that is pretty high on my to-try list these days! Read more at futuredinnerpartywife.co… !

My wife and I had an amazing experience at the Matador Room. Not the usual Jean Georges restaurant given the Latin twist, but the food suits the environment in Miami perfectly. Each dish comes with a hint of chili and the flavors are very complex and to die for. I saw some comments from people that believe the restaurant is over-priced, but I believe that pricing is very reasonable given the quality of service, food and setting (the dining room is reminiscent of Jean Georges' flagship 3 Michelin-star restaurant in NYC). The sharing concept also makes it a very relaxed experience - again in line with what you would expect with the Latin vibe in Miami and quite unique for a top-quality restaurant. Our waiter (Pedro) was a rock-star, not only was he able to describe pretty much any dish on the menu (quite the accomplishment given that the place was only open for less than 2 weeks) but the way he was able to describe every little nuance with regards to flavor, texture and ingredient was a joy to listen to. It almost felt like we had eaten the entire menu once he was done, but leaving us with the difficult decisions which dishes to now order physically.... All in all a definite must-visit restaurant when in Miami, and am sure that once more people have been exposed to the experience it will be very difficult to secure a reservation in the not-so-distant future!!
(5)D. G.
Very impressive. Beautiful room. Delicious food. We tried many dishes. Our server was great with recommendations. (She is from Romania?) Mixed Lettuces -w- Watercress and a Shallot vinaigrette, one of the best Tuna Tartares I've ever had -w- Avocado and Black Olives (and some crispy rice puffs?), Black Grouper Fish Tacos -w- Aioli and Pickled Cabbage, Maitake Mushroom -w- Goat Cheese and Pepper vinaigrette... Apparently, Mon. Vongerichten was actually in the kitchen when we dined there a few weeks ago. (Just after Art Basel) Maybe that helped? I thought the prices were fair considering quality and portions. Hands down the best dining experience I have had on the Beach in the 10 years that I have lived here...!
(5)Matt L.
Wow what a disappointment. Food very average. Tables round the outside and up against a solid wall so if ur facing in you get to stare at a wall 4 feet away all night. But it's the service that's the worst. Mistake after mistake after mistake. And ssssooooooo slow. When the bill came they added 18% charge automatically. I deducted 3% from that as a token protest and signed for the lower amount. They of course billed me for the higher amount. Called 3 times been promised a manager will call me back each time. Guess how many calls I've received?
(1)Marc B.
Beautiful room, spaced out tables- the waiter mentioned the food comes out as it becomes available- i said i wanted the food spaced out- an hour later all the food was served- way too fast- for these prices I want to food to come out when I want it to- not the kitchen- took forever to order a bottle wine, and then good luck finding someone to refill glasses- lots of people working but they seem to be running in circles- food was good- but everything is spicy- it would be nice if they could adjust the heat level- desserts were average- jean george where are you to make this place work-
(3)Nikki M.
I love the outdoors decoration, plants , candles Service was great , although I feel they work under pressure some how , not the regular pressure that extra pressure that make things go wrong at times , loose up management , being polite , educated and good service will go smoother with less pressure. I had the salmon salad , it was good , very tiny piece of salmon 5 oz probably and a few dots of dressing. Diet coke and a coffee came to $35 A lil high but if you have good company plus the beautiful atmosphere you will have a good time
(3)Bradley H.
Amazing overall experience. Our server, Rouchdi, was pleasant and suggested the perfect dishes - highlighted by the mushrooms with goat cheese and the arroz con pollo. Excellent and delicious.
(5)M S.
Fantastic on every level. I went for dinner. The room itself is beautiful and the staff was a delight. The best surprise was the reasonably priced menu. the guacamole made with peas was a pleasant surprise and something I have not seen before. The mushrooms with cheese was the best dish but was obviously heavy on the oil. The fish and mushroom tacos as well as the arroz con pollo were the bread and butter of the meal. The two pieces of advice I will give is either decrease the price or increase the portion of the ny strip as it was the only dish on the small side and second, perhaps add more fish/poultry to the menu as it heavily relies on mushrooms and cheese throughout. Before you leave don't forget to grab a drink at the bar at it is a great spot.
(5)Hira S.
One of the only places in Miami that I crave going back to. Experimental comfort food is a rare combination and I love this one. Try the mushroom pizza and the fish tacos - my two favorite items on the menu. Service has been exceptionally good both times I have gone. Ambiance is classy cozy. I would prefer to replace the big ugly light fixture in the center of the room. The matador uniform - I get it - but awkwardly placed in the room. Still not a deal breaker to my 5 stars.
(5)Natalia M.
I was excited to come to Matador Room because I love Spanish food. This is basically a small plate/tapas restaurant with some larger dishes. Lots of seafood options. We had the stone crabs, corn and crab fritters, shrimp with garlic and chili oil, crispy pork tacos, arroz con pollo, and tres leches. The best dish was probably the tacos, but overall everything was good, but not great. Given the prices, I don't think I'd go back. That said, the Edition Hotel is gorgeous and worth checking out. Just note that valet is super pricey. If you're in the beach, you're probably better off taking an uber.
(3)Benjamin M.
Me and my wife go out to eat all the time. This is one of the best restaurants I ever ate at. It was perfect.
(5)Sheila H.
Good ambiance and nice crowd. Service is poor. Ee waited 25 minutes after being seated to be asked what we wanted to eat. When first dish arrived to the table we noticed we had no table napkins. Omg! I do not recommend this place only for drinks and to hang out solely at the lounge area.
(1)Andrea B.
Firstly, Market, across the lobby is fantastic. Despite the beautiful decor, Matador was, single-handedly, one of the most pretentious, rude and unpleasant dining experiences we've ever had. And the food wasn't even that great. Terrible, terrible, unkind service with a manager who clearly allows her lack of concern over customers to trickle down to the staff. So disappointing: specifically since it's like sitting in heaven.
(1)George B.
I would give the food a five and the service a 3.5. First off, we set a reservation and arrived on time. We were informed that we'd have to wait an additional 15 minutes. Disappointing. No real apology, no snacks, no water offer, nothing. Have a seat down below. We ended up getting a bottle and a glass of wine, which he had to pay for at the lounge since they didn't have a way to link up the lounge bill with the dinner bill. At a place as fancy as the Matador Room you'd think that wouldn't be an issue. Our waiter was great, albeit a little random when he'd show up. We waited 15-20 minutes to get the the bill, then another 10-15 for him just to pick up the credit cards and scan them. Frustrating. But, the food was excellent, especially the grilled octopus, spring ramp pizza and raw snapper. The waiter was very knowledgeable and engaging regarding the flavors and preparation of all the dishes. Impressive. Back to the bill... we were charged $52 for the bottle of wine we had already paid $60 for (plus the awesome built in gratuity) in the lounge while waiting for the table?! Besides them double billing us, why does the same bottle cost $8 more in the lounge? Obviously not a large amount, but just curious and a bit annoyed I guess. Desserts took forever, because the "original ticket never went thru" according to our waiter. 25-30 wait, they didn't even comp one of the 2 desserts we ordered. Lame. So I guess, in general, we enjoyed the food but not the experience for the most part. One and done with the Matador Room, just like the bulls!!!!
(4)R L.
My first trip to the Matador Room was for cocktails at the outside bar. This is an exceptional place where beautiful people can be seen everywhere. Most noteworthy where the cocktails. Our bartender Eric made the difference. It's been a long time since I met a guy who crafted cocktails so well and took so much personal pride in his work. He really paid attention to what he delivered. We're looking forward to our return the next time we're in town.
(4)Juan G.
Very disappointed with the service, food quality standard and pricey , will not return nor recommend to anyone
(2)Lindsay D.
Literally the worst service of my life. Luckily, the kitchen made up for it some--the food was delicious. But service was hell.
(2)Lill W.
Ambiance was absolutely stunning and me and my parents, who were here last night, enjoyed sitting out on the terrace very much. Unfortunately the service was extremely disappointing. Our server didn't know the menu at all, was not able to answer any of our questions, very slow and inattentive and over periods of time forgot our table completely. We didn't receive bread like our neighbor tables, the drinks took forever and we got our entree before we got cutlery so we had to wait for 5 minutes with our hot food sitting in front of us. We also hadn't received wine yet, which we wanted to have with our food and to make everything even worse, right after finishing dessert we were handled the check without asking for it. We essentially felt unwanted and pushed out. The food was good but didn't blow us away and regarding the price level of the restaurant, the service was so bad that it ruined our night to an extent. All in all a very disappointing experience that doesn't match other Jean George restaurants we've been to at all.
(1)Ali B.
Sat at the bar and it was clear that the bartenders were skilled at making over priced libations but zero energy and personality. Very disappointed after much anticipation. In addition, when we mentioned our dissatisfaction there was absolutely no effort to find out why and the bartender immediately went on the defensive. We had another couple join us and with the bar area at only about 30% it took 20 minutes to get a round for our party with 4 bartenders on staff at the bar. We also requested a specific single malt off their list and they made no effort to go get another bottle from their supply and declined the request. Really...you do not have any Balvenie? If you want high priced attitude with unhappy bartenders by all means make this your spot.
(1)Katie D.
Amazing ambience especially if you sit outside with all of the flower baskets hanging from the ceiling and the ocean breeze. The food is also delicious I am usually a person that does not like tapas style but it went well for this place. The sirloin tips were excellent. Pricy though but everywhere is is South beach.. And valet often gets full so that stinks if you live local cab it for sure! While u r there check out the bowling alley and the ice skating rink downstairs.
(5)Mark M.
Enjoyed a few appetizers in #JeanGeorges' new restaurant within #IanSchrager's new hotel (one of the three onsite), #Edition; loved the red snapper ceviche; seated near some couples which along with the inoperable air-conditioning reminded me of a Housewives of New Jersey episode (yes, I am a viewer.) Like the restaurant, the hotel lobby decor is modern, zen like, classy, and seductive, all reminders to me of why I want to see what Mr. Schrager has planned for me next.
(3)Anthony B.
Bad service, ok food but over priced. Not impressed at all. Will not be back. Hope they get there stuff together it is a pretty place but lacking good food and good service.
(1)Conor H.
Pretty cool. If you sit down alone from the pool like I did people will definitely look at you as someone out of place but that made it better. Bartenders are great and have to serve some quite pretentious people. Haven't stayed at this place long but people watching is great for an easy elevator ride down for hotel room or just to enjoy
(4)K H.
Totally disappointed. For a Jean-Georges restaurant I expected far better. Food was mediocre. Service was terrible. Go elsewhere.
(2)Tripp P.
I went here last night with my family and had a fabulous experience! Our server Jenny was a peach, and so was the rest of the staff. I think that the Matador Room and The Edition are a welcome change from the over the top flashiness of Sobe. Matador is very chic inside, almost like being inside of a yacht. I highly recommend the Barcelona G&T and the Pineapple for drinks, The white shrimp, the Maine Lobster, the Steak with chimichurri, and the BBQ tacos. But considering it's a Jean Georges restaurant you really cannot go wrong with the food choice. The menu isn't an overwhelming list of complex dishes, but a well curated group of offerings each with a very distinctive flavor. It's a perfect mix of Latin foods. Really fabulous. I personally felt like the prices were very reasonable considering the name on the restaurant and the quality of the meal and the service. Highly recommend it! Once you're done with dinner, go downstairs to Basement for club action and some bowling! Or use the ice rink! I love the Edition.
(5)Randi W.
This restaurant is superb! From the food (makes me salivate just thinking about it), the service (extremely attentive) and cocktails/drinks (sensory overload) Matador sets the tone and shows Miami how it should be done. I cannot wait to go back, the agua diablo shrimp, sweet pea guacamole, tuna tartare, octopus, lobster, beef tenderloin and by far the best griddled fish tacos I have ever eaten. The room is chic yet elegant with the original 1950's chandelier hanging above. Overall I give this restaurant a solid A+ rating, which is hard to come by in this city.
(5)Stephanie L.
Our service was excellent! For the type of dishes it's not your typical Jean George restaurant. The menu is tapas style so great for sharing. I did enjoy most of our dishes very much especially the shrimp with banana appetizer it was a surprise combination. I also loved the ambiance of the restaurant.
(4)monica m.
My new fav Miami beach spot despite the fact they were out of the dish I wanted. Great wine list, great guac, great tapas, great everything. Fun vibe in a great new hotel. Love this place. So much fun. I'll be back for sure !
(5)R P.
One of my favorite restaurants in Miami! Everything is delicious and the service is incredible. Every waiter is kind and knowledgeable and there's a lot of story telling behind the famous chef great dishes. You must to order the mushroom tacos, the grilled octopus, the little crab fritters and of course the guacamole! The arroz con pollo is also spectacular!
(5)L S.
This is a fusion restaurant combining Mexican and Spanish influences. This place is pretentious and the reservations people are pretty frosty.. We waited until 11:30p for our table. While waiting at the bar we had the guacamole and the fish tacos. Both were very good. The food was tasty, the guacamole is worth trying. All the food has some spice to it as they use hot peppers as part of the Mexican influence. The bar service was not great. The drink order was screwed up over and over until I gave up and drank the cocktail she brought. At dinner in the main room, we tried the octopus, the fish, some potatoes, and a few other dishes. All were tasty but not really worth the hype.
(3)Jonathan S.
My wife ordered the sirloin rare.It came medium to well done and tough.I ordered octopus. The thicker pieces were very tender. The smaller parts were burnt to a crisp. We also ordered vegetables to accompany them. Our main courses were taken away. After they were taken away one of our side dishes arrived.I asked the waiter to bring it back all together My wifes' sirloin was even tougher. My octopus came without the small pieces. The old side dishes were brought back cold. Restaurant is a complete ripoff I forgot to add that they did not charge for the vegetables

Miami is building a string of restaurants that you go to once and never return. That does not seem to be a sensible marketing approach. The hotel restaurant (once Seville now Edition) is geared for drinking at their large bars with the age group at 25 to 35 that are mostly single. This is not for couples. The restaurant management policy of not seating customers at their empty tables before your reservation time starts the rub. We arrived 20 minutes early and was sent to the bar to wait to build up the check. The tables in the main dining room and the floor don't match together. All the tables wobble and have to be rebalanced while you are sitting there. The food is too spicy. They call it a mix between Spanish and Caribbean. All the seasoning tastes the same if you like pepper, which I don't. Small plates add up to a large check. Corkage at $50.00 means you can't bring your wine. The cheapest wine, a Rose, Whispering Angel was $53.00. None of the tables around are table had wine bottles. Pretty stupid for a restaurant in Miami. Maybe because they are catering to the hotel guests and not the locals who may return after the locals leave. This is not fine dining as reported by other Yelpers. If you do go, have the receptionist at the front of the restaurant stamp your parking ticket. Parking becomes half price at $10.00. The only bargain of the night.
(3)C R.
This is by far THE best restaurant in Miami right now. Everything was "wow"! The property, the pool area, the bar, the terrace, the dining room (talk about going back in time! Goosebumps!) and the food.....sensational. Every bite was full of flavor & just enough spice that all we said was "wow"! We've been to all the new restaurants & have left feeling underwhelmed & overcharged. Not here. Yes, it's pricey, but it's great! Go.
(4)Angela G.
This is a culinary experience rarely found in Miami. Reminded me of sophisticated NYC restaurants. The food is wonderful and the waiters are unpretentious . The decor is simple and elegant and the environment is family friendly, went on a wednesday night and there were a few families with children. Over all a great dining experience! The hotel is lovely as well, dont miss visiting the lower level where there is a bowling alley, skating rink, bar and mini arcade catered to adults. Nothing like a little Pac Man after a few drinks!
(5)Cecilia B.
My fiancé and I had such an amazing experience at matador room. We arrived a little early for our reservation so we sat at the bar and had a couple of drinks (kinda pricy but I guess expected for miami beach) after we finished we went to the sand and he proposed! My fiancé had already mentioned to the restaurant that he was going to do this so they had our table overlooking the pool which was perfect. Our server Jason was the absolute best. He dedicated his time in explaining what everything on the menu had and how it was made. We left it up to him to order what he thought were the best dishes and they were all wonderful. We were constantly being waited on without feeling interrupted which was perfect. Our water for example was never even close to being empty. Both of us are in the hospitality industry so we know that little details like that are what make the experience incredible. Thank you to Jason and the rest of the staff for making our night perfect!
(5)Patricia P.
Lovely place! Decorated beautifully.
(4)Johnny C.
Decent food but they flat out lie about availability. We were told there was nothing between 6-930. We finally got a 630 but we're told if we weren't there on the dot our table would be gone. We get there and it's literally empty. The place never got half full until 830. It was never full and we stayed until 10. Many better choices in Miami this place is not worth it at all
(2)Maggie C.
I love this restaurant and I would love to give it a 5 star rating, unfortunately, there's one area that The Matador Room really needs to work on and that's the check-in/hostess area. We arrived promptly on Saturday night for our reservation and we were greeted coldly by the hostess who then proceeded to talk to the other hostess as if we weren't there, she seemed to be having difficulty finding a table for us (by the way, the restaurant was half empty) in the meantime, instead of seating us we were pushed to the side while the same rude hostess proceeded to spend about 10 minutes talking to a couple who didn't have a reservation and left us standing there. When we were finally lead to a table, of course it was a lousy one (in the half empty restaurant) and we requested another one and once again we had to wait to see if this other table was available. Wake up Matador Room, the young and fabulous visiting for the weekend don't pay the bills! Be nice to your regulars (this was my 3rd visit) and we will pay you back with our continued patronage. Our waiter Michael was great, couldn't have been more on top of things or accommodating. The spicy tuna tatare, suckling pig and papas bravas are all outstanding.
(4)Rich B.
Not sure why JG didnt use the ABC franchise with naming this restaurant. It is a combo of ABC Kitchen and ABC Cocina. The vibe and decor dont match the menu or the feel of ABC. Disappointing
(3)mitchell m.
Just fair at best we had 4and 2 only ate not a lot the place was a great spot but food soso service fair at best I would not return 3 peep ate moderaze food and bill was 200 for adverse service won't return
(2)E M.
Beautiful ambiance, great food.
(5)Gabi M.
We came here a couple weeks ago and I'm dying to go back! Our server, Jason, was amazing. He explained the menu and gave us the best cocktail suggestion, the pineapple! It comes in a custom copper glass and has vodka with smoked sage. The food was some of the best in town! Must try: arroz con pollo, lobster, sweet pea guacamole, octopus and red snapper tacos. They have the freshest lobster i've ever had and the guac was perfection. The whole staff was great and explained each dish as it came out.
(5)Jeb S.
The restaurant was quite good. I would not consider it a 4 or 5 star by any means. You can have the best steak at the Capitol Grille, Prime 112, or you can have great Mexican cuisine at the some of the newer restaurants on the Beach or on Brickell. I can only advise you that when you make a reservation, you need to also ask for outdoor seating; which really captures what the essence is of this restaurant/hotel may be all about. The indoor area felt like sitting in a hospital cafeteria. The only thing missing were Code Blue announcements. Nonetheless, our visit and dinner to the restaurant was completely ruined, as they (and the hotel) do not have a competent valet service. We had to wait for an hour to receive our car. I was 2 minutes short from calling the Miami Beach Police as the head valet even thought that my car may have been stolen. Moreover, there were other patrons fighting, screaming and otherwise very unhappy with the valet service. Our evening was pretty much ruined. You really do not need to go out to a restaurant these days and have such issues with your car. I would strongly recommend you avoid this restaurant until such time as they find an area for parking. It's just not worth what we went through last night. And if you do go (which would be a mistake): I would recommend that you obtain a commitment from the restaurant, in advance, that should you have car issues, that they will comp your dinner and offer you dinner (coupon) at a better organized restaurant of your choice. What a major let down.

Jean George...you should be ashamed of yourself and your horrible staff!!!! The treatment that I was given tonight with my 74 year old mother was something that i can tell you has warranted my option NEVER to return. I have been a frequent customer of ALL of your places ALL over especially NEW YORK and I have NEVER been treated like tonight I pulled up to the valet at the Edition at 810 for a 830 reservation and was told that there was no parking available. After trying at several near by hotels and lots i called the Matador room to let them know i was unsuccessful and what they suggested?? to my shock they said try the Fointainbleau...on 41 st REALLY you are on 29th st YOUR MUST BE KIDDING??? No the evening manager said in a rude manner and then hung up. I have NEVER EVER been treated in such a manner no less, expected to park and walk almost 20 blocks to park my car then walk for a nice dinner... Jean George...REALLY? I can tell you this NEW YORK girl...who LOVES good food, love to go out, loves nice thing BUT hates to be treated like garbage will NOT EVER let anyone treat her mother or anyone dear like that again.. good luck to you but Miami is a BIG food town and I wish you something but most of all is LUCK cause in that place you need it!! there is a BIG PROBLEM...and this is one NY fan who you just lost!!!! NOT NICE.. No One likes to be treated poorly...you staff needs some manners
(1)BEN T.
I love so much about this place from just the look. Outside patio is great, but we ate inside. The food and service was just ok. Water never refilled until asked wine glasses left empty despite our bottle being on ice a few feet away, and the food was very average. Just ok but may get better. The only dish I loved was the Iberico. I'll check it out again but not great yet
(3)Barbara M.
We had dinner last night at Matador and must say it was fantastic! The food especially the black truffle pizza, arroz con pollo, guacamole, basically everything we ordered was extraordinary and beautifully presented. The room itself is elegant but the best feature of all has to be the staff. Our waiter Mark J and his assistant, John Mark were professional while being very friendly and pleasant. They made our experience even more special. To top it off, Chef Harry came out from the kitchen so we could sing his praises and thank him to find he was also a nice, friendly man.Although we live in Miami and were not guests at the hotel, the Seville is fabulous! The lobby and pool areas are beautifully designed and decorated. We will be back and recommend Matador to everyone!
(5)Lauren E.
One of the best meals I've ever had! So impressed with the quality of the food, service and ambiance. Beautifully decorated but nothing about Matador room is stuffy or conspicuous, it is truly chic and fun. Can't wait to return- I can still taste the mole sauce from the mushroom tacos, yum.
(5)Scott L.
Awesome. The food was great. Loved the tomato/pepper side. Wait staff was on point, Overall a great experience
