This place is so nice! My sister and I were walking down Washington Avenue when she looked up and saw this. After walking around we realized that we NEEDED to try this so we went inside and ordered macaroons and a nice crispy pastry (I can't remember the name for the life of me!) My sister and I got this and happily went about South Beach. We settled on eating these along Ocean Drive...next to the people working out in the outdoor gym. No shame. Anyway, the macaroons were sweet, a little crunchy, and dense. My sister and I ordered the coffee and caramel, which were great flavors. Our only regret was that we didn't get more! The other pastry we got was a layered pastry that had a creme filling in between the layers, topped off with some sort of chocolate brittle. This was delicious, but so hard to eat. We were going to split it, but breaking the brittle would mess up the creme filling, so we just destroyed it with our forks. It was a little messy, but worth it. The lady that works there is super nice too! Go here, it's a great place to get your sweet tooth fix on.

Picky people, stop doggin' on this place. Le Chic is awesome. No matter where I stay in Miami, I make trek here and I bring that shit home with me too. I am obsessed with baguettes. I can't even handle the ham and cheese croissant. And we can't talk about the chocolate croissant or the prosciutto sandwich. Jesus. But, okay, the coffee is nasty. And the place is dingy but I think it is part of its charm. Haters are gonna hate.

Excellent french bakery !! Everything is delicious and fresh. The place is very clean and the people that works there are very polite and helpful . The macaroons and Verona sandwich its a must try .

Amazing Iced Coffee. It takes a bit to make because they do it from scratch but it is so worth the wait. I work close by and have tried other places for iced coffee and nothing tastes so smooth and strong. The Baguette and Croissants are delish. Love the staff, so friendly.

Le Chic French Bakery is a real gem of a place located right on Washington near the Twist bar. Everything I've bought here has not only been tasty with a well decorated French pastry presentation about it, but super fresh as well as reasonably priced; which finding anything reasonably priced in South Beach can often prove difficult. They have a large selection of choices along with wonderful individual small pie like pastries, my favorite being the lemon meringue, and some great chocolates such as their éclairs. And when you think about it, if they can manage to keep the nearby patrons of a place like Twist happy, who couldn't they keep happy?

Everything I ordered was OK, nothing that made me apt to frequent this place often, just OK. I got a few macaroons (which were my favorite), a fruit tart and a giant raspberry macaroon. I suppose I am spoiled due to the fact I lived across from one helluvan awesome pastry shop in Detroit. I may come back, but I won't be making a special trip.

The food tasted like being in French Patisserie in Paris. We took our to go and sat on the beach which is 2 blocks away. Short of getting fat I'd eat here every time I had the chance.

I am a huge fan of Le Chic's almond croissants and brioches, though their coffee isn't the best in the area. Still, I always go for it because I need a counterpoint to my pastry experience. Thankfully they don't have brioches every time I walk in, because I don't have time to do enough yoga to counteract that level of decadence. :) As people have mentioned, the baked goods are marginally more French than their employees, which is fine with me anyway. It's hard not to smile when someone actually seems to be sincere when they greet customers.

Croissants filled with ham and cheese does not a French bakery make. I don't particularly like places who act as though they are one thing but in reality there are something else. Regardless, I do frequent Le Chic, mainly because it is very near my job, yet I still feel cheated and dirty when I leave here. That may be because the place is mighty run down, or because not a single employee here speaks a word of French, or maybe it is because their plain croissants are dense and overcooked unlike traditional French croissants which are made to be lite and fluffy. I am at a paradox with Le Chic, do I stop frequenting and starve or do I continue to lie to myself about it's identity. I do not know where this fork in the road will take me, but I might have to stick it in one of their fruit tarts.

Great stop for a morning coffee and treat :) had the mocca one day and café con leche the next. I'm not exaggerating the cafe con leche is one of the most delicious I've ever had. Can't wait to try some of the sandwiches at my next visit :)

I stopped in here for a quick dessert and coffee after lunch. I saw the creme brulee, my favorite dessert, so I had to try it. While it tasted good meaning they got the ingredients right. They did a pretty poor job of caramelizing the top. It didn't even have that crunchy texture! The rest of the pastries looked decent and the colada was quality. I'd give this place another shot, but might have to try something else. Also, I doubt this place is run by French people as the server immediately spoke to me and Spanish, which is surprising because I'm Asian.

Good value, breads and pastries are far better than you'll get at your "continental hotel breakfast." Very friendly employees. We visited each morning for breakfast.

Ok this is the first time I have received a crock of crap from this place. I have been coming to Le Chic for years, maybe 6 years or so. But I do not come often maybe twice a year and I always get the same thing, some kind of fruit tart. Over the years that I have been coming here, I have never received anything stale or unpleasant until now. None of the tarts I had bought previously whether strawberry, raspberry or apple had been unpalatable. The tarts were tasty but average at best, nothing toe curling about them. But This time around I decided to try my all time favorite Black Forest cake $4.00 bit.ly/YZDEP0 . Holy Christ on a cracker this was a big time mistake. Also for the first time I decided to eat it in the bakery. The minute I opened the box I know something was wrong. As soon as the fork penetrated the cake I could feel the cake was stiff but not stale, it was not moist nor "jellied" in the middle. The maraschino cherries in the middle of the cake had a kind of light rubbery texture. The whipped cream had a texture of slightly hard refrigerated butter. The cake itself was dry and was very bland tasting, I could barely eat the little that I did, I ended up throwing 3/4 of the cake in the garbage. The counter I ate on was not clean at all, I had to brush the top of it with a napkin, so this bakery is not being maintained properly. The cake was something that would be served to inmates in a third world prison. The only reason I am giving 2 stars was for all of the previous tarts I had bought over the years, in reality this was a 1 star experience. The lesson I have learned from this is, if I go to a Italian or French bakery, make sure French and Italians own and manage the bakery. I do not know who owns this place, but when I think of it, I have never seen a French speaking person working in this bakery.

Wish I knew the counter lady's name. She is one of the most pleasant people I've encountered in South Beach since moving here a month ago. (If an owner/manager read this I was there around 4pm Tue 11/25) Despite language barrier she understood pescatarians and recommended the huge tuna sandwich. I also got a spinach cheese empanada and a peach tart. Fresh, tasty and all for $14! (It was enough to feed two people)

You're in the desert searching for water. You mind is wandering. Where am I? Who am I? Is that water I see? No. It's only a mirage. After two more long, hot miles, you come across a french bakery. "Come in" the proprietor says. "Ma'am I only have 5 dollars and I'm dying of thirst and hunger", you say. "Here, $5 is all you need for a wonderful meal." No truer statement has been said. You feel brand new. Now off to the desert to find the wreckage. Thank God for La Chic.

I have worked in French restaurants in Manhattan, Boston etc... The bread is delicious!! I had a mini baguette tuna sandwich, she offered to toast it and it was lightly done and crusty and yum! I added carmelized onions... Whoa. Only thing I was a little sad about, they didn't have French mustard. That's okay though:) good cortadito, too. I will be back for the monstrous almond crossaints!

GREAT little French Bakery - the croissant sandwiches looked authentically divine. Had the raspberry sandwich type treat with strawberry cookies - the raspberry's were so fresh and delicious that I wanted to ask if I could buy just some of those!! Had a truffle which was excellent and a meringue which was a little dry. Service was fast and good. Docking it a star because they were playing Spanish music in the French Bakery - a little French music would have made this a perfect experience!!!

This place was so cute to stop In and pick up a few treats for our morning coffee. I was so enthralled by their croissants. The almond and plain were absolutely delightful! It was so moist and fresh tasting, you knew you were getting the real deal.

This is a great place for a coffee run. The employees are friendly and informative about their menu options. There was somewhat of a language barrier if you are not a local but they do their best to explain the menu items. They have a great selection of bakery items, from fruit tarts, chocolate croissants and local favorites like empanadas. I tried the cafè con leche, while my husband tried an americano. The coffee was hot and smooth while lightly sweetened and the smell was so delicious. Starbucks has nothing on this place. If you are in the neighborhood, make sure u stop and try this place.

Neat little bakery. Gave something interesting for breakfast when I didn't want typical hotel restaurant fare. The food was very good, we had a variety of breakfast croissants and coffee. There is a small bakery near my home that sets a high standard and this place didn't disappoint. The two ladies working the counter were friendly and quick.

great place to grab something to go when you are staying in south beach. We ended up here a few times for various things: breakfast croissants, rolls, snacks, desserts. Its a lot cheaper than going out for every meal. We their fresh baked rolls are cheaper than bread from the small grocery stores in the area, and more delicious. Great for making your own sandwiches.

i work near here and it is hands down one of the cheapest, best places in the area. it is not fancy or posh but the bread and croissants are top notch. they do a ham and swiss on baguette here for 6 bucks that i get at least once a week. good coffee, yummy desserts, a great place to pick up a bag lunch and head to the beach if you are a tourist. not many seats inside and no ambience. super nice counter ladies.

I have seriously been meaning to try Le Chic since I moved to MB a year ago. And last week...I finally did! I ventured here on a very brisk *50degree* winter's day. (cut to me bundled up, wool coat, scarf, boots, hat & all- sorry, my beach blood is too thin to handle anything below 70 these days). Anyway....as most people know, I have a natural affinity (addiction) for all things sweet; which is probably why I spent 2 years studying pastry arts and another 2 years in the industry. So, to say I have the utmost respect and admiration for the profession would be hugely understated. And I know without a doubt that running a bakery or any type of pastry establishment is VERY hard work. I'm talking blood, sweat, tears....more sweat, recipes gone wrong, wasted product (ie $$$)... ok you get the picture. So I really have to admire the fact that his place bakes their variety of breads & pastries FROM SCRATCH (7 days a week)!!!!!! And I really appreciate that I was greeted PROMPTLY with a very perky and SINCERE 'good morning how are you?' This alone had me taken aback, since the acknowledgment of another's existence amongst the slue of passersby in SoBe is a novelty and completely unheard of. While it wasn't 'love at first bite', it was definitely a great first impression and did I mention the great prices? I'm talking homemade baguette for $1.75, tarts for $2, coffee for $1-3. These prices are astounding, especially for south beach! I had the ham & cheese croissant....could've used a little more of each ingredient, but that's strictly a personal preference. I also enjoyed the almond croissant: baked to perfection, sweet, buttery, flaky & crispy with just a hint of almond paste, topped with toasted almonds and powdered sugar....mouth watering. I also opted for the fresh fruit tart (I told you I'm a fiend for this sh**)- the shell seemed homemade, which is rare. The pastry cream was fluffy and the berries were fresh. The mini ciabatta- it was ok. The texture was more like baguette not as pillow-y and soft as a ciabatta should be. But nonetheless, I genuinely liked everything I had. And.....I love that it's within walking distance from my place! Can't wait for another cold SoBe morning...just kidding I can. But for reals....check this place out!

What a true little gem! Enjoying the weather just strolling around walked into this lovely french bakery. Fresh baked bread, wide variety....I purchased the french baquette, oh gee it was so warm, fresh, and tasty. Being a huge bread eater, I am very picky on what I find to be excellent bread. This place showed me much love in the bread area. Apple tarts, peach tarts, cheesecake, eclairs, etc....all kinds of beautiful desserts lined up in each case. Seriously, they looked to beautiful to eat. Had to grab a slice of their bread pudding, which was awesome. As I turned I noticed they also offer sandwiches, all in a case for your viewing. They were so big and looked scrumptious! Next time. The best part was there was a young lady helping us "Emily" she was radiating sunshine. Just so pleasant and happy, very friendly. She made my cortadito perfectly. Her personality was so infectious! Great bakery, see you soon!

We discovered this place on a long bus ride through downtown, and we just had to go in and try it. You dont really think that there would be an authentic french bakery in South Beach but it was really good. There isnt a lot of seating, so it is better to grab something for the road. We only tried a merignue, but it was massive, it only cost $1, and the inside was feathery soft, the way a true meringue should be.

BREAD, omg BREAD! I don't know when it became acceptable to "cut carbs", but it has never been okay with me. Hello fresh croissants, homemade bread pudding, cream filled fruit-tarts galore, and bread that is some of the best I have ever tasted. This place is not fancy, but you will absolutely be greeted by a friendly staff. They will also happily serve you sandwiches and espresso if you prefer lunch, opposed to the delightful treats within the bake-cases. Being a bread loving freak I eagerly tried a whole grain baguette, ciabatta roll, and an olive roll. All delicious but you must try the flaky, buttery olive roll; hands down the best I have ever had. I love bakeries, but bread is my specific weakness and this place gets it! Merci!!

I am always in constant search for the perfect croissant. These ones not only they're huge but they taste good. Not the European thing, but decent. Bread IS perfect. Just like in Europe. Coffee is made always to perfection. Service is so friendly and fast that I just can't help going back every time I'm in South Beach. I love this bakery.

I bought the large fruit tart for my boss's birthday. Everyone including myself loved it. It tasted very fresh and homemade. I would definitely buy it again for any other special occasion.

I was in MIA for three days and came here twice. Not just because it was a short walk from the hotel I was staying at, but because it was pretty good! I can't even remember what I had the second time but it was tasty. I remember thinking that I didn't want it to end. The first time, however, I had a large cookie. Black and white cookie. Yummy cream in the middle. Make it a reality if you see it. SO so tasty while drunk and even better whilst sober! Cheap, too. I didn't find myself paying an arm and a leg for deliciousness. If I wanted to do that, I'd throw $10,000 at Sam Worthington and have him come over to play a personal game of Avatar with me. Um... Go, Le Chic!

Excellent little French bakery on Washington and 10th st. Good coffee, great pastries, baguettes too. Open 0630 for the early crowd. I grabbed a palmiere and a cup of americano to accompany me on the walk up to the convention center. Perfect.
