Ugh, it is surprisingly difficult to find a sushi place in Melbourne that's open during kinda-sorta-lunch time. Zushi Asia ended up being our fourth or fifth choice after the other places we looked up were closed, and I wish we'd just given up. We came in and were the only ones in the restaurant. The food came out quickly and the server was helpful. However, the food left much to be desired. My mom got the Teriyaki Chicken Roll, my sister got the Chicken Tenders Katsu kid's meal, and I decided to get adventurous and try the Ocean Pirate Roll (octopus, seaweed salad, cucumber, scallions, spicy sauce). My mom had a craving for Krab Rangoon so we got the "Crabby Cheesy" appetizer as well. Everything sounds yummy, right? WRONG. I have never seen my mom look anything less than ecstatic to eat sushi. She ended up not finishing what she ordered and stealing some of my sister's chicken tenders instead. She liked the Krab Rangoon, but I think it tasted like a big glob of cream cheese in a wonton with no krab. My sister actually drooled/spit it out when she tried it --- the shameless joy of being a six-year-old child. My roll was overall just bad, and despite still being hungry after finishing up, I just stole some of my sister's white rice (poor child, having her meal savaged by her family members) and called it a day. We will not be coming back here.

Zushi Asia is an overly pricey asian fusion restaurant located in downtown Melbourne. The food is rather mediocre, and bland. It looks kind of nice. I'll admit I've only eaten there once, and it was an order for pickup. though I wouldn't expect that to have any effect on the quality of the food. I had tried their gyoza and the "heaven roll", which was far from heavenly (mostly bland with a strong lemon flavor). The total came out to about $20, which is kind of ridiculous given the size of the portions and the lack of quality. I'd still like to go back and give their thai food a try, as overall the thai restaurants in this area tend to disappoint.

Great asian restaurant in the quaint downtown of Melbourne. I ate here during a business trip a few weeks ago on a whim, so expectations were kind of neutral. But, let me tell you that I was pleasantly surprised by not only the sushi bento box, but also the wait staff. The food was super fresh and tasted just as expected; price was also not as steep as you would see in other cities such as around the DC area. Even though we arrived for a late dinner (1 hr before closing, and closing was surprisingly early), they did not rush us and also took their time explaining some of their other dishes my coworker was interested in. Also had some hot saki to make everything go down smooth... oh yeah. Give this place a try, it won't disappoint!

I worked in a sushi bar for two years and out of two, Zushi Asia is the only sushi bar I will eat at in Melbourne. The staff is so friendly, and the environment is AMAZING. I have went for many different events including my birthday and the owner treated everyone personally himself. I love coming here, and just spending time with friends. Their specialty rolls are excellent.

The fish was very fresh and melted in my mouth. The Bento boxes are delicious. The prices aren't that outrageous, especially for the Bento box.

Went today Easter Sunday for lunch with my two grown daughters. My youngest wanted sushi and lately a few sushi restaurants in Melbourne and other areas have been caught selling fish that is NOT the fish that is represented on the menu. But I looked on Yelp, and many people gave Zushi Asia a good rating. So we went. We were the first diners. No surprise. Many people are at the hotels and restaurants that are serving Easter Brunch/Lunch. The young lady that served us was personable. The dining room was clean and we were seated and menus brought. Many, many choices. We ordered the (crab rangoon) here called Crabby Cheesy- yes it should have more crab but was freshly fried and also got the Gyoza tasty fried pork dumplings. We all had sushi. All the fish was very fresh. Mine was cooked. I ordered the Beach Roll with fried snapper. New for me never had fried snapper in a roll and it was delicious. My youngest got the Indialantic Roll (tuna, salmon and eel) and my oldest got the Spicy Tuna and and Dragon roll. ALL LARGE and full of fish rice and vegetables. We enjoyed the whole lunch and had wine and a beer and fresh hot green tea in a french press. They have bento boxes, and Thai and Japanese on the menu. After some disappointing sushi that we have had lately we will revisit Zushi Asia. They need more exposure....I did not even know they were downtown. One criticism- the music is too loud. Maybe if the place had been full, but we were the only ones in there and we had to talk over the music.

We have been to Zushi Asia many times but have never eaten sushi. We stay with Thai and have never been disappointed. Pad Thai, soups and red and green curry are our favorites.

I like it here. The food is good they prices are ok. I'll always be spoiled by California seafood, but, what ya gonna do? everything I have had has been pleasant and the service has never been bad but it's never been stellar. I obviously enjoy it I eat here at least once a week.

Sushi was good, not the best I have had, but definitely decent. It was a short walk from the Marina, Sashimi Salmon was amazing, the 2 rolls we had were good, I've had better tempura, this tempura batter seemed a little soft, instead of crunchy. The wait staff seemed too distracted prepping for dinner than to take care of their lunch clients. We had the Levothian Roll, which was quite tasty, with seaweed in the roll. The other roll was the rainbow dragon, we enjoyed that a lot, very tasty. We will go again next time we are at the marina downtown.

I went here once for sushi and it was good. Ive better rolls others places but it was not bad. However the dessert was fantastic. The coconut creme brulee was out of this world! The waiter told us a story about how he met his wife over that dessert and I found that to be nice. It had just opened so it wasnt busy and the waiter watched our every move. Not in a negative way, but he was concerned we were satisfied. I might go back in a weekend night with friends but I prefer more casual places such as Siam Orchid for sushi.

Got the paid thai with mixed vegetables and a California roll, takeout. Hearty portions, tasty food. Works for me. I'd go back. FWIW, Place was completely empty when I picked up my food at 630 p.m. on a Friday night.
Not bad not the best sushi either. It's good and convenient for me so I will return. It's right in downtown so that is a big plus.

Food is always fantastic and quick! Portions are well sized. Sushi bar is a great place to sit. Chefs are talented and very knowledgeable. I suggest the iso maki roll, Tom kha soup, masaman curry and coconut custard to finish. Amazing. Atmosphere and vibe are great and location is convenient. Try it, you'll thank me.

I absolutely love their sushi and it must be one of the best around Melbourne. The only drawback is that they are a little slow. If they improve that I will certainly change my review to 5 stars.

Great food and nice atmosphere. Very enjoyable. I had the Pad Thai which was prepared perfectly. The presentation added to the meal. I also had a sushi appetizer of Hamachi and it extremely fresh and quite tasty. The server offered me some spicy sauce which was went amazingly well with the sashimi.

We were rushed during our Sunday night dinner. Server was untrained and threw the food out. Salad, soup and steamed white rice are all extra, not worth it. My green salad was all wilted. They are several better places for sushi in Melbourne.

I wish that I could give this place 0 stars, but I am forced to give at least one! There's a reason it is empty on a Friday night. We were one of two tables and got no service, while the staff watched tv. I would think that they would have decent sushi since they call themselves a Thai restaurant, but they have much better sushi at the bar down the street! Very disappointed. Will not return!

Had the curry chicken and some sushi rolls. It was all pretty good. I would have had a much better experience if the service had been good- for not having anyone else in the restaurant the server was not attentive.
