Awesome experience at Sonny's today. We had three kids with us and I was so impressed that the kids menu was not your normal "hot dog, hamburger, chicken fingers" faire. They had real food with smaller portions for the kids! I wish other restaurants would take this hint. The food was amazing. The ribs were great, but the awesome waitress outshone everything. My child has a sensitivity to hot food and she LISTENED to me and discussed preparation possibilities, and took the time to warn me of likely conflicts to the sensitivity. When the food came out, everything was exactly perfect according to our discussion. I cannot tell you how often this is not true. Super kudos to Sonny's!! Stop by for a great meal at a great price!

Came in while on vacation. Started with great salad bar which included soup & many great items one might not necessarily find in a typical restaurant salad bar such as seafood salad. Gigantic iced tea was great also...you won't ever leave thirsty! I had the bbq feast which was a sample of many things...all of which were very good. Brisket was nice and moist, sliced pork was white, lean, moist and very tasty, dry rub ribs were excellent, not fatty & the bbq chicken was moist tender with a nice crispy skin. Four kinds of sauce at the table gives you a lot of options, and the cornbread was moist & delicious. Mac & cheese & bbq beans on the side were also very good. Very enjoyable meal.

Great place to have some smoky sweet BBQ. Eaten at this location several times and service is always fast and friendly with little to no wait time. I always go for the pulled pork
(5)Adam T.
Clean and inviting. Our server listened well and was wonderfully attentive. I hope the food will be great but they are making me leave this review before hand so I can get my bowl of fried okra.

We are back at our favorite lunch date spot Sonny's in Melbourne and as always the food is delicious and the service was terrific and we wanna let our server Kristen know we are praying for her and her baby during her pending delivery!

Loves me some sunnys. My favorite of any chain BBQ restaurant's. I am from Southern California and our BBQ is a bit different. Of course you can find a southern style by restaurant but it's not the same as the south. I love the southern style slow smoked meats with viniger sauses. This sunnys is ok. One of my favorite things about sunnys is the salad bar and this location has a m poor salad bar. The cocoa beach location has a much better one. So I give this location s 3.
(3)Walter I.
The service was excellent, unfortunately we came in at 8:30 and they were out of beef brisket.
(3)Simon L.
It is a good place to eat. I had the all you can eat ribs. They were cooked well, tasty, and they came out fast. Solid barbecue with great sauces. You cannot go wrong.
(4)Ashlyn D.
Great sonny's. Our waitress Shelby was wonderful!! We had the bbq chicken, smoked turkey sandwich, salad bar, and soup. All of the food was excellent would recommend this food to anyone!!!
(5)JayBell O.
Fast service and amazing food. We will be back. The drinks were huge and the meal was delicious. I am very happy we live so close to this place
(5)Dennis L.
Excellent great tasting food. Portions are very generous. Had the smoked turkey which had awesome smoky flavor. My wife had the smoked chicken. Both meals and sides were delicious. Can't wait to go again!
(4)Michael M.
I have been to this location many times. We are always seated promptly and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Today I ordered the baby back ribs with potato salad and mac n cheese. Niki ordered the brisket. I really enjoyed my ribs. The potato salad and mac n cheese were also tasty.
(3)Kyle W.
Always great service at Sonnys!! Food is prepared well and everyone is always friendly!
(5)Kathy L.
Great for a fast and delicious lunch. Best of the chain restaurants in the Viera area. Love the sliced pork and fried okra!
(4)Greg S.
Great food and friendly staff! This is my normal bbq place and we eat here at least a few times a month. Service and quality is consistent. All you can eat at Louis ribs are great. Sweet and smoky or dry rub.
(5)David C.
This was pretty good barbecue considering we weren't in a traditionally BBQ-centric area. I enjoyed my smoked turkey, and they serve it dry so you can experiment with the few different sauces that are on the table. I wound up mixing the mild and the sweet to get my preferred taste. The ribs looked pretty good, though I'm not a big rib guy. I wish they'd offer a two-meat combo plate where you could pick the two you want to try, but unless I missed that, they only seemed to have individual meats or the giant combo platter that serves several people. Looking at the menu as I write this, though, I see a few pre-made combos such as chicken/pork or shrimp/ribs, so I guess half credit. The sides, as at most cue places, were mixed - the slaw was pretty ordinary and the mac and cheese and crinkle fries were fine, though I did like the cornbread quite a bit. The Brunswick stew was interesting, like a thick chili, but a bit sweet for some reason. I'm wondering if that's a family recipe or maybe just how they do it in this part of the country. In sum, certainly not bad at all, but just not quite hitting the spot for me.
(3)Billy H.
Best BBQ in Viera, great service and the food is always fresh and served quickly as well. Also a fan of the bar they have located up front. Do yourself a favor and head to Sonny's! The sweet tea alone is worth the visit.
(5)Colby D.
Very good food. Very fast it took 15 minutes for our food to come. I would recommend it to everyone. It was clean and had friendly staff.
(5)Eli J.
One of the better Sonny's I've been to. Carly was an amazing waitress, attentive and genuinly pleasent. Food was fast and cooked just as we ordered. When I usually order extra-crispy fries, the waitress usually says ok but the cooks don't bother. They actually did it right here! And they weren't out of half of their food like Sonny's in Daytona always is. Everything here was perfect on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Would go out of my way to come here again
(5)Scott S.
This was our 3rd or 4th trip since moving to the area back in June. Pretty good BBQ if there are no Rudy's around. And since there are no Rudy's outside Texas, well, this is the next best thing. They have a well stocked salad bar. You will not, however, find real bacon. Instead, you'll "enjoy" nasty fake bacon bits. Just tell yourself it's the real deal, and you'll be fine. The wait staff have always been nice. We've had the same waitress the last couple times and she's pleasant enough, and quite southern. As to the food, our fried okra appetizer was under fried, which = soggy. So we sent it back for a redo, risking them being spat in, I'm sure :-) they were plenty fried when we got them back! The Sonny's Sampler was good, as always. And my son enjoyed a hotdog and sweet potato...what a combination, I know. Oh, and last but not least, they have ceiling fans which is really important to my obsessive compulsive 3 year old boy!
(4)Kevin G.
Delicious baby back ribs, fresh salad on the salad bar, hot fresh fried okra! Consistent good service, highly recommend, we are repeat customers now for 8 years.
(5)John R.
Being from Texas, I have high expectations for BBQ. I was not disappointed here. The generous portions and price make this place a good place to return to when I am back in town. The all you can eat offers are reasonably priced. I did come a little late on this occasion, so the rib portion on my combo plate was not as tender as I expected, but still tasty (probably a re-fire). I enjoyed the selection of sauces at the table. Of course, I had to sample them all. The salad bar was better than expected, and the service was exceptional.
(4)David R.
I love Sonnys my fav place to eat there is no better BBQ on earth which there were more locations to eat never been better briskit and I love the smell in the air since we got one in my home town love that smoker best smell on earth
(5)Dann D.
I have yet to find something I do not like. Fresh hot BBQ and friendly service. Try the redneck egg rolls!
(4)Paula E.
The service is fantastic, they have a wonderful staff. The food is very good! We come to this Sonny's as often as possible. It's conveniently located off I-95, but you will find a lot of locals. Bring a heavy sweater, the Resteraunt is always freezing. The restroom needs to be remodeled.
(4)Amanda B.
Sonny's is a great family restaurant. Great prices, big meals. Salad bar is the best in town. Children meals are great prices.
(4)Jake S.
One of the few chain BBQ places left that has kept a quality smoke flavor in their food. Definitely the place I go to feed may family when I don't have time to fire up the smoker myself.
(4)S P.
This place is delicious. Pulled pork and baby back ribs are perfect and melt in your mouth. Also have a great bar to watch any game at. A must have any time I'm down in Florida!
(5)Angela J.
By far my favorite location. Love the salad bar and the seafood salad. The food is delicious and the service is always top notch.
(5)David F.
Shellie is the best! Turned down the speed on our fan and brought up a free okra appetizer just for a review. Love the food. Been here lots of times.
(4)Kimsy S.
I came with my boyfriend and we were seated out of the way. We waited a long time for a server until another server named Ryan went out of his way to serve us, even though he was busy. He was friendly, attentive, and answered all of our questions. The service was very quick and the food was hot and delicious. We definitely expressed our delight to the manager and let Ryan know that we appreciated his hard work. All of the employees at Sonny's are great, but if you get an opportunity to have Ryan as your server, get ready to enjoy some great service!
(4)Jeanne R.
Delicious ribs. Love the choice of sauces at the table and all the sides that come with your meal. Babyback ribs were the best choice. They could be hotter though. The salad bar looks well stocked and fresh each time we went (3 times). But who can get that when you have ribs? Next time I may try the chicken. Only downside: it's too bright in there, turn the lights down a bit so we can relax.
(3)Kellie B.
BBQ here is hit or miss, but the salad bar is always stocked, the fries are always good, and the service is friendly and fast!
(5)Dave P.
I have loved Sonny's ever since we lived in FLA, it is so great to come back and eat here again and find the same great food. Thank you Sonny for a job well done.
(4)Ray R.
This chain BBQ is really good. You always know what you can expect, and it is never a let down. Standard selection, but the quality and prices are great. You can't go wrong with the all-you-can-eat salad bar. It's a great place for a quiet casual dinner, or hanging out with friends that enjoy good food.
(4)Anthony C.
Good food but crap service
(4)Sheelah N.
Great BBQ. Great prices. The baby back ribs are excellent, very good sauce. The waitstaff were very friendly and attentive. It's always busy but you get your food in no time flat. I love stopping here when I'm in the area.
(3)Richard S.
Sonny's is a barbeque franchise started in Gainesville, Florida by Sonny Tillman. This outpost is not as good as other outposts in the chain and the quality of their food is declining. Last time in was in the area and had a hankering for BBQ I stopped by for the lunch special, of a sandwich, one side, and a drink which runs around $6.95, to go healthy I upgraded the side item to a side salad for a $1.00 up-charge. The salad was surprisingly good, a mix of Romaine and field greens and absolutely no iceberg ( I despise iceberg lettuce ). The pulled pork sandwich was a disappointment. First, it looked nothing like the sandwich in the menu and was perhaps half the thickness of the sandwich pictured in the menu. Second, the pulled pork was marginally better than sloppy joe pork out of a can. For Barbecue in this part of the Space Coast, the Charlie and Jakes Wickham location is much better. The Ribs and chicken dishes at this location are better choices than the pulled pork. The food at the Sonny's location in Cocoa Beach is better than at this location.
