Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

Once again another outstanding meal and outstanding service we absolutely love coming here

Lets just say that its not like the location in Suntree. Food and service were way off and it was hot as hell at our table. Ive been to China and they have air conditioning in China. How can anyone expect you to eat hot food in such a hot restaurant. Geez!

Pretty darn good. I had the dumpling rolls (a Lil too much dough) and the Melbourne roll was wonderful. Customer service at the bar was awesome. My mom had the prawns with walnuts. ....awesomeness! !! Great experience and happy hour 2-4-1 can't beat it.

Was there a third time now with friends. Pretty much liked what we had. My wife was disappointed in the Pan Grouper. The veggies and sauce were good. But after seeing another picture of it, I see why. Didn't seem coated or marinated as the other pic. She felt it was just thrown in there. We other four enjoyed what we had. Ordered more sauteed string beans w/minced pork and fried dumplings this time to share, very good!!! About the string beans, there's the one I mentioned (V4 on the traditional menu) and vegetarian string beans. (No minced pork) I like the "V4" the best. The salad with ginger dressing always good. This time I ordered the Red Ginger Spicy Chicken. VG!!! Right amt. of spice, lightly fried, all white meat, no fillers. You won't be disappointed with this dish. And a generous portion. The Orange Shrimp was just OK, expected more. Tasted it from the share. A very light orange sauce. We did once again have a good waiter..David, who btw, will be leaving in two weeks. Moving to another state. Very funny and helpful in deciding about dishes. I'm looking forward to a fourth visit soon and trying other things.

Second time going there, once for lunch and had the red gingers spicy chicken which was very good. Recently went there for dinner and had the lemon chicken, the dish felt weird as if something was missing. The waiter was no where to be seen, not even a busy night. 10 minutes later, almost done eating, what I suppose was the manager comes over and jokingly says "would you like some lemon sauce with your lemon chicken? " and drops off the sauce and leaves. Never apologizing for a huge mistake that would of made my dish what I ordered. Not going there again.

Extremely good, very authentic Chinese dishes if you order off the Traditional menu. We've only had the Singapore Noodles and the Snow White Prawns off the standard menu and both were excellent. Traditional menu items are probably not items you've heard of although some have been added to the regular menu Lovers Beef and Tofu Ma Po are very good and pretty spicy hot which I like. The Tofu Ma Po is my favorite dish here and I consider myself a Foodie. The service is pretty good but can always improve. They do a great job here and you won't be disappointed.

Red Ginger is the best!! We usually go to the Wickham location since its closer to our home; great for takeout. But if you want a delicious dining experience, go to the new location in the mall. The restaurant is beautiful!! The food is fantastic and sushi is great! Happy hour too! Need i say more? Cant beat the prices and service is excellent. Cant wait to go back :-)

If you live in Melbourne and like Chinese food, you have to try Red Ginger! I'm surprised most people don't even know about this place. The service is good and prices are just right for the quality and portion size. When you walk in the decor and atmosphere is pleasingly mellow, very fitting for a modernized Chinese restaurant. The sweet tea was very clean tasting, and the table next to me seemed to be enjoying their sushi dishes. I ordered the lamb dish, with fried rice and crab rangoon. It was delicious, I nearly licked the plate clean! Try it out for yourself, and ask for David, he is a great server who will be glad to answer any questions you have!

My wife and I love this place. Being in the Melbourne Square Mall seems a bit odd, but it's almost like its detached somehow. The Red Ginger is a bit expensive, but I haven't had a bad meal here. I had their General Tzo's Chicken and my wife had the Chicken Lo Mein, both dishes complimented each other perfect for sharing. I loved the Egg Drop Soup and Egg Rolls, their salad has fresh homemade ginger dressing that was amazing. The ambience is very classy and casual... Great place.

The Hot Pot entrees are excellent, loved the sushi, drinks are very good. My daughter had the Chicken Pad Thai unfortunately it was a disappointment, she couldn't eat it at all, very disgusting but that wouldn't stop me from returning.

Not the best experience. Sat for a long time waiting for someone to show up to greet us. Just as we were about to get up to leave someone finally appeared. Ordered a Mai tai and fiancé had an old fashioned. Drinks were not great. Sushi was tasty and the best part. But service was horrible. Will opt for another place for sushi next time.

I have been twice so far and will continue to return. Both times i got the lettuce wrap appetizer, theyre amazing. The first visit was ponzu fish and peking duck. The fish was good, i was pleased with the serving and quality and very good flavor. As for the duck, we were not impressed. Its a good dish to share, as they bring it tableside and cut it up and place it in wraps, i did not like this presentation (the employee did a good job, i just prefer to cut my own food) maybe others might (my favorite duck is at yellow dog cafe, served traditionally). The serving was generous, but the flavor was nothing special. Free wine with yelp checkin. Second visit i had lettuce wraps again (amazing!) a side of the sauteed string beans (a huge portion but worth leftovers, cooked to perfection) and the 3 course special for $13. I chose egg drop soup (just ok, similar to any other chinese takeout) pork with leeks (just enough spice, a very balanced flavor perfectly cooked) and lychee nuts for desert. My partner had chicken pad thai and said it was a different style from what she was used to but was very good. Love the restaurant for its cleanliness and good service, i will go back for sure

We tried to eat here on a Saturday afternoon because friends recommended it. The door was unlocked, so I am pretty sure they were open for business. There were no other customers that we could see. Perhaps the reason for this is because we stood at the front for about five long minutes and none of the three staff members - each of whom did see us - came over to give us menus or tell us to leave. Does Red Ginger have a selective door policy? Were my flip flops a violation of their dress code? Do they not allow kids? Is there a secret password? We may never know. EDIT: The response from management, below, is bizarre since my review specifically does not indicate which Saturday we visited, so unless they're psychic they couldn't possibly have known which day my review alludes to. The one star stands.

I love this restaurant! Reasonable prices and delicious Chinese food! Make a reservation because they get packed on the weekend. 5/5 would recommend.

Love this place. My coworkers and I go there for lunch all the time. If you like spicy food, ask the waiter for their jalepeno relish. It is awesome to add to your dish. I love the chicken with jalepenos, chicken curry sha guo, garlic chicken and eggplant, etc. There are several dishes from the chinese authentic menus that are good as well. Their sashimi is good as well. I love their string beans, their hot and sour soup is awesome.

Absolutely TERRIBLE service. The food was good, but it took entrees 45 minutes to get to our table. The waitress came to our table three times, to take our order, drop off appetizers, and drop off entrees. I had to get my own water because nobody would come to my table or acknowledge me when trying to get their attention. I also had to find somebody and get them to print my check because the waitress couldn't be bothered with it, and to top it all off, the manager didn't speak English and didn't know how to print separate checks for my party so I had to pick up the whole tab and get money from my friends. Also, the restaurant was only at 1/4 capacity, it wasn't even busy. I will NEVER come here again.

Let me start by saying I was very apprehensive about trying a restaurant in the Melbourne mall. We went with a group of 7 people, and everyone left extremely happy. We ordered mostly from the secret 'traditional' menu and wow were we surprised. Drink prices seemed a little high, but they do run a pretty good happy hour if you get there at the right time. If you're looking for a great Asian fusion place, definitely give them a try...the crispy chicken dish is amazing!

Food was pretty good, thus the 3 stars. For some reason, the hostess was rude both days that I visited this establishment. First time, I stopped in to get a menu, since I'm staying at a hotel for a few weeks. Second time, I figured she was just dry towards me. Note to owner-greet all patrons the same and as soon as they enter your establishment.

Excellent service and food. You can always count on having a good meal and service. The Mongolian beef or filet is excellent and always on point every time. The general chos is excellent. Presentation and portions is always great. Well worth the trip you won't be disappointed

This was my second time, the food is really good I ordered the Godzilla roll, tuna and avocado roll and a piece of tamago. the prices are average. the server was unable to answer any questions we had. It took forever to get our food. I mean like almost missed the movie forEVER. I'll go back, but not if I have anywhere to be.
(3)Deena G.
Restaurant is beautiful. Service was great. Lunch was terrible. Crab rangoon was cold in the center. Over dressed salad. Artificial sweetner in the sauce of my lunch entre. Miso soup had no flavor. Frozen pre made gyoza. Maybe the drinks are good..... but lunch was not worth the money. Better off getting a PF Chang's frozen dinner.
(2)Anna M.
food was wonderful... HOWEVER -It took about 35 minutes to get an appetizer (and we went in knowing what we wanted) -we finished the appetizer, and waited another 30 minutes for food. -we were at the resteraunt for almost 2 hours -The waiter came to the table 5 times, three for food and 2 for water refills. -We had to go up to the counter and find a water pitcher WORST customer service If you want to wait, the food is fantastic

Went here for Fathers Day dinner. If ambiance is important to you, please go to the location at Melbourne Mall. Don't let the fact that it's in the mall throw you off. We actually drove to the other location and walked out, (I'll save that review for another day)... Back to the Melbourne Mall location-- Upon entering we didn't receive the warmest greeting by the gentleman that seated us, but Michael our wonderful server made up for the unhappy greeter. Michael went over the drink specials, which consisted of a lot of 2 for 1's. We chose to go with a Lychee Martini and a White Sangria. What a mistake, both drinks were made incorrectly!!! Michael quickly exchanged those poorly made drinks with a nicely made Side Car and another White Sangria, this time made correctly by the owner Grace. She takes pride in her bartending skills. Next our Seafood soup came out, which, we both agreed was the biggest hit of the entire meal. Everything is in there and it was just fantastically flavored. Then we had the Dynamite Shrimp, which was lightly fried with just enough sauce over it, to tickle your taste buds with sweetness. Our main entrée soon followed which was also very tasty. We had the Happy Family and the Combo Fried Rice. The Happy Family was a little salty, but still quite enjoyable. The Combo Fried Rice had that extra something in it that the corner Chinese Restaurant leaves out. Overall I would give this Restaurant 5 stars for its chic decor, it's wait staff, and superb food. They lost 1/2 a star for the bartender that put beer in the sangria, and 1/2 a star for the unhappy greeter. I would 110% recommend this place for a date night, family gathering, or just hanging at the bar with friends (as long as Grace is mixing the drinks)!!

Had a pre birthday dinner on 7 April with some friends . The food , service was outstanding our waiter was Johnny on the spot and Grace and Jeff made us feel at home . Keep up the good work.

I have eaten here several times now and each time I have enjoyed my experience. Even though the restaurant is located in the Melbourne Square Mall it does not feel like it from the inside as it has a nice quiet atmosphere. The food is a far cry from the typical mall fare as it is of the high quality you would expect from a good sit down Chines restaurant. If you are looking for a nice sit down Asian restaurant that offers a bit of everything Red Ginger is a great choice.

Nothing special. Ok chinese at best. Sushi....go somewhere else. Really bad egg rolls tasted of chemicals, horrible steamed dumplings. Tasteless lo-mein. Rolls are ok taste wise but skimpy and nothing special. Sesame chicken was good and the moo shu chicken would have been good if they included the necessary plum sauce. Will not return.

This was my first time visiting this place! It is tucked away inside the Melbourne Square Mall, and it is quite a hidden gem! Walking in, the atmosphere is very sleek and upscale. The decor is nice, and all of the servers are very nicely dressed. We were greeted promptly when seated and our drinks were brought to us very shortly after. I ordered the egg drop soup to start off with and it was some of the best egg drop I have had. The Krab Rangoon app was also very delicious. For an entree, I ordered the Red Ginger Spicy Chicken and it was extremely flavorful! Over all, I would def recommend this place to anyone looking for quality Chinese food, and I will def be back!

One of the things that a annoyed me with this resturant and with any restaurant is a poorly trained staff. First issue was almost as we sat down. The geezer at the door didn't know that there was a wifi connection. The bartender did. I asked about a dish on the menu and the waitress didn't know what was in. After we ordered a couple was seated in the next booth. They end up receiving their meal before us and for the most part our waitress was inattentive. The only bright spot was the quality of the food, it was excellent. Also at end when paying we used a coupon which was not deducted from the bill. I will give them one more try, but the quality of the food doesn't make up for poor service.

Have been to this restaurant several times and was always pleased. Being from the North we were pleased to find a Chinese Restaurant we liked. However having made it a tradition with friends the past two Valentines Days we were very disappointed last Sat. to find they had a different smaller menu for the night. The choices were limited. If you did not like spicy you were very very limited. Really spoiled our day. Hope this is not a sign . May try again. But definitely not on V Day.

Went for Chinese New Year dinner. Good food. Gong Xi Fa Cai

I loved the service at this restaurant. Everyone was extremely kind and pleasant. It is very nicely decorated and has an overall nice feel. I started my meal with the calamari that had a sweet ginger sauce to go with. It was very good! However, There was not much on the plate for the $9 that I paid. I ordered the Tuna tempura roll, on the chefs special. The waitress first brought out the raw version of the sushi roll but quickly corrected the order and brought out the cooked one that I asked for. While waiting I had a piece of my best friend's fried salmon roll. The breading on the roll tasted like fried pancake batter and was very soggy that it was falling off the roll. My roll came out and I had the same issue. I ended up scrapping all the breading off and just eating the roll itself. It tasted bee plain and I had to drown my roll in sauce and ginger. It wasn't horrible but I wouldn't eat here again. Not worth the price.

The Red Ginger roll was delicious, as was the teriyaki steak bento box. The decor is nice and provides a relaxing environment in which to eat and enjoy the many available dishes. The service was very attentive and friendly from beginning to end.
(5)Kathryn D.
After coming here a couple times I can finally post a fair review of both sides to the restaurant. The sushi is very good and reasonably priced. The lunch specials are well worth it and fill you up. The dining area is also very nice. Good ambiance. The food is a dressed up version of Chinese take out. Except for the HOT POTS!! They are worth it and are a break from the "Americanized" Chinese we all know.
(4)G. Troy S.
Not great but not bad. Service sitting at the bar was excellent. Early bird special for $12 was great, meat quality was similar to what you would expect in a mall food court but the vegetables were fresh and the sauces were excellent.
(3)Christy M.
This restaurant came highly recommended by numerous people. I have to say, initially my husband and I were suprised by the prices. But let me tell you, the portions are very generous, the staff is willing to modify any meal as you please, and the food is delicious! Honestly, "delicious" doesn't even do it justice - I've never had Chinese food this good. My husband and I have since been here many times and not one had we - or anyone in our party - been dissatisfied. This place is a must and is worth the price.
(5)Deborah R.
Just had the eggplant and chicken for lunch. Was delicious! Our Waitress Cody was awesome !
(5)Rima A.
This place is absolutely gorgeous .doesn't feel like it's inside of the mall and it has a restaurant feel to it. Didn't expect it. Food was really good. I ordered a bento box and my boyfriend had lamb with rice . It was a lunch time and the bill was under 25. They have a nice selection of martinis such as almond joy or strawberry cheesecake .will go back
(5)Crystal B.
Only been there twice but each time the food was amazing!! The service as well!!! Even the hostess was awesome. Each time I ordered something different and each time the food came out at a decent time, when we ordered an appetizer, we were able to eat that without rushing because our food was already coming out. The egg drop soup is the best I have ever had. The crab Rangoon is the best I have ever had!! Def a place to go and experience!!!
(5)Denny C.
I've had take out 3 times from Red Ginger. The food was cold, tasteless and small quantities of food. The taste was so bland it gives Chinese food a bad name. I had teriyaki chicken, pot stickers, salad, rice. The rice was the best item in the Styrofoam carton. My husband had teriyaki chicken with very very bland vegetables. They open at 11:00, yet their doors weren't open. My husband called them from the mall right outside their doors and couldn't get in. We're done with this place. We gave them 3 shots at getting it right.
(1)Sandi F.
Excellent service and food. Would have not expected such a pleasant experience in our local mall. Will def be back!!!!
