Just tried to have dinner there tonite and they're closed! Does anyone know if he's changed his closing days or is he closed for good? It's upsetting if it's the latter.

What started out as an amazing sushi experience (my original review was 5-stars and I compared it to a place in Moscow that flew in Japanese ingredients daily) went downhill, and that culminated in the closure of the restaurant. I arranged to meet a friend for lunch there today, and found that they had closed. While their Japanese food was overall great, the sushi definitely took a downturn and it showed over the last 18 months. I wish them all the best and hope they land on their feet. I had some fantastic meals there!

After working in the same strip and eating here 2-3 times a week, I'm much more pleased than my original visit. Maybe it was a fluke, maybe they worked out the kinks. Very friendly, and I've retried several of the Ramen soups and they're delicious. I've loved every soup of the day I've tried, the sushi combos are more than adequate. The plain hot Udon soup is simple, delicate, and very satisfying. I will absolutely continue to keep coming.

Delicious food, quality and portion. Will come again. I ordered the super crunch roll, and enjoyed every last bite of it. The service was good too. Food prepared fresh and prompt.

Service was slow....good thing I don't always rate on service. I tried the Ben to box for lunch today. The meal started with some miso soup, the soup was pretty good, but I only had two pieces of tofu in it. I like the tofu! After the soup it came out with a small ginger salad. The salad was pretty normal. Nothing special. The dressing was pretty good and chunky, you have to work it to get it on the whole salad. My Bento box came with half of a California roll which was very good. Edamame which was a little on the cold side, but it was good...not hard to make right. One tempura shrimp, which was excellent, two meat wonton style rolls. They were good, especially with the dipping sauce they bring out. It also came with some steak and noodles. They did a great job with the whole meal. The steak was tender and tasted very good. Pretty good restaurant, however it took just slightly over an hour to eat there...watch your lunch break time!

This is primarily a review of the sushi bar, though I've also tried their chicken dinner. Norm was actually trained as a sushi chef, which is apparent when he's making the sushi. It's REALLY GOOD. I'm not talking about friggen rolls, either - if you're at the bar, you should be ordering nigiri sushi. Unfortunately, when he's the only one making the food there, he's not working the sushi bar. The first time I went to eat here, he wasn't at the sushi bar, and I ordered the chicken dinner. OMG it was terrible. I'm hoping that he's making it taste that way to suit the local taste (seeing as how most of the locals aren't Japanese), because I would be shocked if that's what he would prepare at home. It's not my go-to place because it's hit-or-miss... However, if they get a cook in the kitchen to cook the dinners, Norm can focus on being the sushi master, and I'd be here every week!

As a server i have one word AVOID. Went in on saturday night and wasn't greeted for a long time. Once sat we were never given silverware to the point we had to get up and find our own. Our server was insulted that we asked for orange chicken (since it was a Chinese dish) oops. Anyways we ordered edamame and maybe got 15 soy beans. Not very generous. Our waters were never refilled and service was very very slow. Sushi all together was very good but teriyaki chicken was not good. All together wont be back

We have been going to Kibo since shortly after it opened. My wife and I sit at the bar and love talking with Norman as he prepares our food. He remembers all of our previous conversations and asks about our family and travels. His wife (the only server for the smallish restaurant) is a lovely Japanese woman with a shy smile. The food is excellent. We often order their beef carpaccio made with Kobe beef. It is the most succulent marbled beef we've ever had. You may have to be patient on a busy night; so I recommend a week night for your first try. You won't be disappointed with this small, personalized service restaurant.

You have no idea how happy it makes me to find a sushi restaurant that deserves a 5-star rating. Let's get something out of the way first though. There are a couple of comments regarding the lack of options for special rolls, and it's true -- there are only four of them. I was a little disappointed at first but it worked out fine. I ordered the spicy tuna kobachi and one roll [see photos]. I don't remember what the roll's name was, but it was the third one in the list I think. One of the ones that didn't say 'fried' anywhere in the description. The kobachi was fantastic, one of the best I've had. The spicy tuna was perfect, fresh and delicious cubes mixed among sections of avocado and laying on a bed of thinly sliced cucumber. The roll was equally beautiful with equally perfect fish and just the right amount of light saucing that added flavor without overpowering the ingredients. Expensive? Maybe a little, for the area. But if you were so shocked as to walk out without trying it (as one reviewer claims to have done), then not only are you not qualified to review the restaurant, but I can assume that you've never looked at the sushi prices in Orlando where this would be considered a little on the inexpensive side of things. The staff at the time of my arrival consisted of a waitress and a sushi chef, both of whom were extremely friendly. The waitress was extremely gracious and helpful and kept my tea refilled. Could I have used an extra couple of options for rolls on the menu? Sure. Especially a couple more that don't have any fried components. But I'm not worried, I could eat here every day without getting tired of it. Exceptional.

Deliciously prepared, quality ingredients, nice presentation, clean and classy dining. What a wonderful find! We ordered cocktails and edamame appetizer and sat back and relaxed while we waited for our meal. Shrimp and vegetable Tempura, pan fried pork dumplings, tofu with mushrooms, tuna sushi roll. All delicious. Really top quality food. What a special treat.

This place is absolutely delicious! Visiting family in the area, I'm always in search for authentic sushi. I'm from California, so fresh fish (sashimi), not rolls masked with sauces and rice, is always hard to find. I can tell you this place is the real deal. The pros: Authentic Japanese chef that was so friendly and enjoyable to talk to. Price was moderate, not expensive. Three beers, beef carpacio, sashimi salad, tataki, and fresh tuna sashimi for $50. Attentive waitress, friendly, and I've always liked it when they come by to pour my beer. Cons: the place was unassuming when you walk in. I sat at the sushi bar, on a Thursday right when they opened at 4pm. The fish display was scarce so I was afraid it was going to be one of those ok sushi places. I'm glad I didn't judge, because every dish was so good with light sauces that didn't overpower the taste. If you are one that enjoys authentic good sushi at a great price in a cool friendly atmosphere, don't miss out on this hidden gem. I'm making my husband take me back before we leave!!

We tried Kibo today and everything we ordered is excellent. I ordered beef sukiyaki, it comes with soup and salad. The soup is very good, traditional Japanese style; the salad is also very fresh and tasty. The beef sukiyaki is perfect except the soup is too sweet to me but I enjoyed the beef very much. As drink, I ordered hot green tea which is much better than other thai restaurant. Dessert, we ordered mochi green tea ice cream, I like it so much. My husband ordered grilled hamachi and some sake. The bill comes out 70$, but I think it's worthy, way better than Banzai Thai restaurant and any other thai restaurant. This place is clean and doesn't have lots of special rolls, but actually in Japan, sushi restaurant doesn't have a lot rolls. So don't complain as sushi bar why they don't have lots of rolls, and if you think sushi is the rolls, please go to thai restaurant, they can make any kind strange rolls if you want. So please try this small Japanese restaurant, if you like tradinional Japanese food

Unfortunately I didn't love it. I suppose I could have went and got bad luck with the quality but there is such great other sushi restaurants out there. The fish wasn't fresh. The service wasn't great.

Nice little Japanese restaurant. Great service, very nice waitress. Rainbow Roll was very tasty, my Japanese coworker traveling with me enjoyed his ginger pork. Definitely recommend this place if you are looking for some good Japanese in this area.

Very authentic Japanese food. Sushi was expensive but very good. Owners are actually Japanese, which lends to the authenticity.

Very nice and excellent sushi / Japanese restaurant. Hasn't been open too long, we drove from titusville about 40 min drive. I'm not a sushi fan and had the pork katsu it was excellent. Those in the party who eat sushi said its the best in central Florida. Some people claim it's expensive. I don't think it is at all. Lots of food and great prices for FRESH REAL sushi. Real friendly staff who take the time to explain everything if you have questions about the entrees. If you want cheap sushi just open some canned salmon and munch on that!

The quality and taste of this food is amazing. I had reservations when I looked the menu over to find a small selection, but I was so pleased with my meal. I recounted many talented and trained chefs tend to produce quality over quantity, Kibo is no exception. The staff are fine people and I was grateful to have ( finally and almost accidentally) found myself in a traditional japanese restaurant!

The menu was SO bad, we walked out!! For being a "sushi" restaurant, the options are better at Publix! They only had 4 specialty rolls, and then the usual California, JB roll, "sushi 101" stuff. On top of that, it was SO overpriced! $6-8 for 2 pieces of nigiri... everything was $1-2 more then other sushi restaurants. I recommend Thai Thai or Thai Hana instead!

Kibo is awesome. The sushi is very high quality. Everything there is good. The sushi chef and his wife are so nice and friendly. I highly recommend Kibo to people who want to have really good, really authentic sushi and Japanese food. There is no need to go to any other Japanese restaurant on the Space Coast. I can't wait to go back.

Wonderful authentic Japanese food! We went on Valentine's Day and had 2 lovely, tasty special 4 course meals for only $30 each. The Hibachi and sushi are equally good. Have ate there many times and always an outstanding experience. Highly recommended!
