We have been coming here for years. We had a bad experience a few weeks ago and chalked it up to a bad night. Tonight we are having the same issues. The restroom was so disheveled it was disgusting. Our service has been very bad, getting our food wrong. That is probably due to how loud it is and the inability of the wait staff to hear us order. My food was incredibly overly salty. I barely ate. That said the steak was tender and the grilled vegetables were tasty. Every table got a basket of pita, and we normally do, but we did not tonight, even though we ordered dinners. It will be quite some time before we return, but we always have hope for this place because the desserts are amazing.

This restaurant is a fairly regular place for us to go. I came and had brunch today. I had the French toast crusted in slivered almonds topped with nelutella and fresh fruit along with a side of bacon and scrambled eggs. It was all wonderful. There were three slices of French toast and I ended up only eating one and took the other two home. It was very yummy

We have been to the diner a couple of times before and it was ok. But we hear so many people rave about Harbor City that we thought we'd try again. We will probably not go back. I had the chicken stir fry and it was fine. My husband had heard how great the hamburgers were so he tried one. He ordered it medium rare and it was medium well. Service was poor and food took a long time to get out. Lots of people love this restaurant so maybe it just isn't for us.

I had one of the single worst experiences at Harbor City Diner this past weekend. The man that served us was extremely rude, unprofessional, and slow. He clearly didn't care to provide good service or even mediocre service. He complained about other tables and made lousy excuses about his terrible performance. I complained to another waitress and instead of going to the manager with my complaint she decided to go straight to our waiter and tell him that I had just voiced me frustration. This didn't help the situation at all, and I saw him get visibly upset. My party was scared that he would spit in our food! The only saving grace that we had that night was the food. I ordered fish and chips so that I could hopefully see if he tampered with my dinner, but it was fine as far as I could tell. He did give me the wrong French fries, but my food was really good other than that. The fish was nicely cooked and had a perfectly brown crust, and I was very satisfied with my meal. The food almost coerced me to give a two star review instead of my final one star decision, but my experience was so lack luster that even the food couldn't save it. If you get a tall, male server, with spiked dark hair, get up and leave immediately! He didn't smile a single time, and ruined my night!

The food is great, sometimes a little to salty(Meatloaf) The plate size is HUGE! So much food for the price. This place is pretty great! Yes it does get really loud inside, it is an old Pizza Hut. If I were them I would put in carpet to quite the place down a bit and add more fabric or sound foam to the walls to slow down all the noise. The staff has always been great and last time we went there the service is getting eve better. They are stepping up. This is a diner, it says so in the name. So dont expect and fancy place to eat. Expact good home cooked style food with a huge plate and left overs for lunch tomorrow at work. I suggest this place to almost everyone I know. And the price is pretty darn good for how much food you get!!

We stopped at this restaurant because it had a full parking lot around lunch on a weekday. It was clean and had a neighborhood diner atmosphere. The service was outstanding and the good was delicious. Looking around and seeing some of the other patrons dishes we are eager to return and try the other featured dishes.

Large portions of great food. This place is legendary for it's good food and oversized meals. GO HUNGRY! LEAVE HAPPY! Service is excellebt also. Yes, it is loud, but it still works!

Another horrible experience...six of went in on a Sunday morning. We waited 50 minutes from the time we ordered...no food. The waiter apologized, the floor manager apologized...no food. We finally left after 1 hr and 20 minutes of wasted time. They lost us for nearly a year after a previous disaster. This was certainly no way to win us back. This place has serious problems.

Monocle does it again! While finishing up on some work around town we got a bit hungry and spied a low key no frills type restaurant. From the outside you wouldn't thing much about it. Maybe even from the inside. After reading some of the reviews I thought it interesting so I manged to stroll in. I made a second visit about a week later with another addition who wanted to see for herself the sandwiches and cakes, both were enormous. It is easy to find something for everyone there. The first time was slow between lunch and dinner rushes. The second was right at lunch. There seemed to be plenty of people around but the tables took some time to get bussed and the servers seemed overwhelmed. The inside was very loud, but mostly because of the large group seated a few tables away who felt it necessary to scream from one side of the table to the other. It was a little awkward how long we waited for the server to take our orders, but you may need some time to review the menu, it is pretty robust. American, Greek, and Italian with massive desserts. The burgers are huge, the cakes are huge, the portions are huge. Souvlaki and the Gyro were excellent. The soup was homemade and excellent as well. The pitas seemed very fresh and likely homemade as well. The others in my party were delighted in their meals but definitely did not walk away hungry. It seems that the restaurant is family owned and the people were nice. Overall, not bad and very reasonably priced.

Go ahead ...go to the diner that can appease a hillbilly but not me. #1. Chances are you will be awake but the staff won't be. They will get your order wrong. Then you will pay 30% more than any other place around. Then you might luck out and get home fries that wont choke you cause the pieces are way too big. Grumpy,,, "what am I doing here so early" service attitude. Yay

Best burger in town!!! This was my first visit and while they identify as a Greek dinner they most definitely have my vote for best burger. Our waitress Ashley was amazing and very sweet. We came in before the dinner rush and when the traffic started to pick up, our speedy service was not affected. This will not be my last visit.

Inconsistent in Service & Food Quality My wife and I have eaten at Harbor City Diner many times over the last 5 years. Some days the quality is excellent, and on other days, it's questionable. We decided to try again tonight with their New York Strip Steak & Shrimp special. Though the Diner was not busy, the Kitchen was seemingly way behind in orders. It took about 40 minutes to receive our food. The Steak, ordered medium was very tough and grisly, and a big disappointment. My wife always orders hers medium well done, and it was uneatable. The shrimp was actually very good and the baked potato was passable. Our waitress was pleasant and obviously trying very hard to make it a good experience. She sent the manager over to address our complaints, and we were offered free desert or cake, which really didn't seem the proper way to handle the situation. She acknowledged they had changed meat providers and maybe that was an issue. The prices have gone up , the quality has gone down, and their customer service is nonexistent

Terrible service. Terrible pastrami. They gave me on slice of tomato with a sandwich cut in half. Thanks guys! Just wanted one side with tomato! Ugh. The sandwich was all soggy too. AND they refill the ketchup bottles clearly marked, "do not refill". We had to go to a close by grocery store for a drink after because the server couldn't be bothered refilling our teas or even getting which of us had sweet or unsweetened tea. $24 for a pastrami sandwich and a chicken wrap with two drinks. Fucking really? Any of these complaints by themselves are okay but when you combine them all... Ugh. Never could downvote this place more. Maybe they can blame this on the obviously busy 3 o'clock lunch rush.

I see a lot of people complaining about service being slow. It makes me think why they have a problem waiting for their food to be cooked. It's not a chain fast food joint where frozen pre-cooked foods are deep fried for a few minutes. I was there with friends for lunch today for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it, I wanted a restaurant that was affordable and locally owned. It was noisy, but it was lunch time & busy. This is not a problem for me. The portions were huge, our server (and others) kept checking to make sure everything was good, and it didn't take any abnormal lengths of time for our food to be served. My biggest issue was trying to figure out what to order!

Yep. Giving it another shot. Okay, I'm going to re-add that fourth star. Harbor City redeemed itself in my eyes (at least for the time being). My only complaint during this visit - which I'm not sure could have been fixed right away - was that we were seated at the table next to the cake/pie display case. My mother, who is temporarily wheelchair bound, was practically wedged between the table and the case. Sitting on the other side would have blocked seating for the table behind us. The service was nice, if just a tiny bit slower than normal. This time around, I ordered the "Redneck Omelette" which has cheese, sausage, bacon AND ham (I hope my doctor isn't reading this), topped with sausage gravy (I ordered as a side). It was fantastic. In fact, it was the best omelette that I have had in a long, long time. It was so good, that it required me to add that star back to my review(s). I will definitely be back to try that omelette again.

The service can be inconsistent, but the food is worth it! Huge portions for a decent price. Save room for dessert as well, they make pies in house.

Ordered the Mediterranean Chicken Pita and it was HUGE!!! Definitely couldn't finish it all which was a bummer because it was delicious!! Our server was Toni and she was great! Waited a little while for the food but it was so good it was worth it! Would definitely go back and would want to try out one of their homemade pies/cakes!! :)

Maybe they were having another bad day but I won't go back. Both times the service was slow and that could be expected because we were a large group at lunch time but the excuses were not acceptable of why the orders came out wrong. My order was not made at all (the waitress said the cook said he put it in the to go box but If that was mine it was still wrong). I noticed the people across from us sent the pot pie back because it wasn't heated through. I left when my order was not done and later found out that the waitress took forever to pick up the tabs and the front wouldn't process them without her.......ugh...... The worse part was the waitress smelled of stale smoke...I know....but I really don't like to smell that smell when I'm about to eat....... I gave it another chance and it wasn't good

Ate here last Saturday morning. I was excited by the reviews that were hung on the wall on the way in and by the size and appearance of the desert case. I thought we were in for a great old fashioned greek diner experience. My experience was anything but great. The food was ok, probably 3 stars but the service was awful. When our food was brought to the table the server asked if we needed anything else and my response was "silverware". There in ensued a frantic search by the server for eating utensils. She couldn't find any. There solution was to provide us with plastic forks and knives. Servers were scatter brained and acted like they couldn't get away from the table fast enough. I wont go back as I cant tolerate bad service and poor management. Not when its so expensive to eat out these days.

HARBOR CITY DINER GOT A FACE LIFT! - I visited tonight and was totally shocked when I walked in! The interior of the restaurant has been completely remodeled. The first thing you notice when you enter is a pass-thru window between the lobby and the front desk for take-out orders. Gone are all of the nautical decor items. The walls are painted in a deep burgundy color. There is a nice metal sculpture hanging on the wall behind the register. The dessert cooler with all of the pies and cakes is still right by the door, and about the only thing you will recognize. There used to be a low divider wall between the first two rows of tables and the rest of the restaurant seating. That low wall has been built up to about 7 feet high and is now continuous with no breaks in the middle. Attached to the new wall are brass accent lights over each table. When seated in this first section you can no longer stare at folks on the other side of the wall. You cannot see any of the tables in the larger dining area. This has definitely given a more reclusive feel to this more enclosed space. All you can see is this first section of tables, the cash register and kitchen door areas. I am delighted to say the food has not changed, but the physical menu has. For those of us used to the old menu, it may take a little navigating to find your old favorites on the new menu. Of course, a familiar mantra says, 'With a new menu comes new prices'. And I did see some higher prices posted. Oh well. The ONLY complaint I had with this new dining experience was the noise level. It was quite loud throughout my meal. I actually cringed a couple of times when someone on the 'other' side of that new wall, unseen by me, erupted into a loud raucous laugh. It seems that the sound was bouncing off the divider wall, ceilings, windows and woodwork. They might be wise to invest in some acoustic 'deadening' materials interspersed within the interior.

A regular customer. There was a brief time when they were not up to their standards but I noticed that staff is no longer there. I'm glad my introduction to this place wasn't during that time or I would not have returned. This is my favorite place and I expect that not to change. Yes, it can get a little loud but the same can be said for most establishments in this price range, which I think is pretty good. It is real food, not the stuff served at the fast food joints.

Best service I've had since I've moved here! Server was polite and tidy everything was perfect !! The portions were huge ..my veal parmigiana took up so much room on the plate that they had to put the noodles on the side! I also received the largest double decker portion of baklava ever!!

Good value for the price and good daily special. Service is slow but most all foods on the menu are freshly prepared in their kitchen. The very best Cornbeef Rubin I have eaten at a restaurant. Drinks are somewhat expensive but they offer free rifills. They also offer beer and wine selections.

We had been there once before for a quickie lunch and the experience was acceptable enough to consider a return. So when they showed up as part of American Express Small Business Saturday (November 25th -- the day after Black Friday) we planned to have dinner there. What a disaster! While we were seated quickly and the service was attentive, both meals were awful enough that we ate less than half. I believe our waitress knew the food was bad. And the whole place was noticeably dirtier than on our previous visit. To top it off, when we tried to pay for it with our American Express card, the waitress informed us that they don't take it. Funny how they were on the list of local businesses participating in Small Business Saturday enjoying all the free advertising it gained them. That kind of malarkey says only one thing: we are never going back and would advise the same to others.

We had eaten here once before about a year ago and it was not good so we decided to try it again. So, we had lunch here today. When I entered the "dining" room, I noticed it seemed dirty, and the floor had food and liquid all over it. I had the chicken pot pie. It was HUGE but to the point of DISGUSTING, not just good value. PLEASE owner cut down the portions, cook the food right, and save food cost! The crust was like rubber, I could barely cut it with a knife! The chicken filling was bland, I don't think the cooks have heard of salt and pepper there. Coleslaw tasted old, but the waitress said it was fresh. Even the pickle tasted odd! I wanted to bring a gyro home and ended up eating that which was not good either. If you want a good gyro, go to Teddy at Olympia Cafe or Petra's. I took the chicken pot pie leftovers home weighing about 5 pounds and was so grossed out I tossed it! Believe the other reviews that say the wait staff and owner/manager are clueless. My wife had tuna sandwich with potato chips, it is hard to ruin that. Waitress was unfriendly and the owner never asked me how everything was. When I told the waitress about my complaints later I asked again and she said "Yeah, I told them already." Absolutely no concern from head cook, manager, or owner. I did not want to wait another 10 minutes for the waitress to run my credit card so I went up front to pay. The young girl there said I could not pay on this register? Then another woman took my card and bill and went to another register. What a ridiculous hassle. He could care less about my food and service, he was up front counting and organizing lunch receipts.

Went here for lunch on the suggestion of a co-worker, not terrible. The bacon cheeseburger I got was pretty good, good sized patty, decent bun and you could tell the meat wasn't of the frozen variety. Service was slow and just a tad unfriendly. Atmosphere was what you would expect from a diner. Food was okay, price was a little on the high side for what was being served. Worth checking out if your in west Melbourne.

First time here. Noisy, but it was busy. It was busy because food was great. Had the chicken stir fry and chicken rice soup. Generous portions and ver tasty. I would certainly eat here again. Great service too.

Been here a handful of times, never been disappointed. Strangely, with all the Greek-American fare, my favorite dish is the shrimp stir-fry, whatever sauce they use is excellent. On my last visit, the veggies in the stir-fry were charred to almost be unrecognizable, I'm surprised it made it out of the kitchen but when I said something to the waitress she took it back to be redone, it came back quickly and I was happy. I haven't gotten to try the desserts yet but they look great in the case when you walk in.

Mediocre service coupled with mediocre food. I'm not coming back. The portions are fairly large, and maybe that's to make up for the flavor. It was really sub par and did not meet my expectations. I was not impressed.

Used to love this place. Burgers were great and huge. Chicken pot pie was my favorite. WAS my favorite. Not now. They changed from tender chunks of chicken to being full of stringy chicken. Fewer potatoes and veggies. Watery now. Taste different. Big turn off. Totally too noisy!!!! Old man owner stands in corner staring around. Never smiles. Last time here we were bypassed by our waiter for 40 minutes!!! Finally we flagged down a waitress and complained. She took our order then took forever to get our food!!! Then it was unbearable. We left and have not been back.

The good:Walked in and we were seated quickly. The restaurant is loud but you have plenty of space between tables. Our order was taken quickly. Our food was delicious. I got the garden omelet. The Bad: I asked for Hollandaise sauce and was charged 2.25 extra. The only thing included was toast with the omelet. Bacon was another 4.00 so my breakfast cost 16.25. Way too high for a diner breakfast. Then our meal took an hour to get to us and that was only AFTER I asked. The server seemed to avoid coming by and telling us, the owner came apologized but then kept making excuses so I just quit listening. My daughter had to rush through and left got work before we could even finish. Bottom line, food is good, from what I have heard from my kids they have never had to wait. Maybe it was a fluke. Food is good, wait time horrendous, prices a little high for a diner breakfast.

Straight up textbook diner. The only thing mind blowing was the extensive menu. Gave it three stars because the food was ok. We didn't hate it however the portions were on the large side so that's always a plus. We've come back one additional time and unfortunately my burger was subpar. That being said, we would come back when in the area and try one of the other billion other items on their menu.

This used to be my absolute favorite place, but no longer. The decline in food quality, portion size, service and general concern, accompanied by a relentless rise in prices, is finally enough for me to stop coming here. It's no longer fun and satisfying, especially when you remember how it used to be. New menus (needed frequently due to price increases) and an extremely ugly decor makeover do nothing for the overall decline here. And would it hurt to put the ketchup bottles back on the table?

I have been coming to this diner for years, the big portions on their burgers is incomparable in brevard county. However, recently I have noticed that service has been off. My most recent me and my wife were seated then were ignored for over 20 minutes. During that time our server had taken the order of someone who was seated after us, and another couple finished their meal, got their check, paid and left. Finally, had to get up and ask our waitress when we would be served. She came over and apologized, said she wasnt told we had been seated. Whether she had our table assigned and just forgot (we had menus sitting in front of us the entire time) or whether the person who seated us (who is also a waiter) forgot to inform our waitress, i would have excused the delay if we did not have a similar delay the time we ate there before. And during both times the restaurant was not crowded. While the quality of the food is about the same, the place seems filthier than in years past (i.e., bathrooms and floors), and service is really down. Will not return.

It's a shame that I have to give this establishment two stars. I don't expect perfection... But every time I place a delivery order it takes at least an hour over what they quote me. The best part? I'm never ordering more than two items and I live five minutes from the restaurant. Things that are supposed to be hot arrive crusty and cold, or salads arrive warm and wilty. If I call (an hour after placing the order) I get told that the driver left ten minutes ago... Only for him to arrive at my doorstep 30 minutes later. Interesting when they could walk here quicker. Don't get delivery... Ever... From getr.

This place has been going downhill for years. The service was always horrible. Poor management. Last time we ate here I got sick. Now we read it has the dirtiest kitchen in brevard county and about to 5 shut down by health department. Beware of this place.

10 dollar minimum on to go food.. Fine! I figured adding bacon to my 899 salad would get me there..349 to add bacon.. To a salad!!!! Took an hour for my food to be delivered and I am not impressed

This place is loud inside and looks like it's been here since the beginning of time. So what?! They've got a huge menu, you're bound to find something that suits you. I look at some of these other reviews, and I have to think, "Where did you think you were going?!" And I hate to single anyone out, but my favorite comment was, 'AND they refill the ketchup bottles clearly marked, "do not refill".' They don't want another company's ketchup in their marked bottles, it's not like it's a health hazard or something. Ahh whatever, I don't understand people sometimes. Here's what you need to know: Triple Decker sandwiches. There's a whole section of them on the menu. Now, you see over next to my star rating for this review, the little link that says "2 photos"? Click on that. THAT'S a Triple Decker sandwich. They can't use toothpicks to hold it together, too big. They have to use wooden skewers like for grilling. And with fries, it's $8.99. BOOM. Your head just exploded from roast beefy awesomeness. The staff has been great each time, drinks filled quickly (with a refill offered in a to-go cup on the way out, if we wanted) and overall it was a good experience. Don't go for frills, or for a fancy meal. Go ahead, click on those photos one more time. Go for that.

Ate here Sunday, July 5th and this place is very old, unclean (look at ceilings and filthy bathrooms), it's dark and the atmosphere is more like an arena since its so loud with each patron trying to out shout others to be heard. The food was very mediocre and if their bathrooms were filthy, I cannot imagine what their kitchen looks like. I saw staff come through the kitchen with food and floor was spattered with dropped foods on floor. The tile floor in restaurant just looks old and out of date. When restaurants all around them re remodeling this place needs a kitchen nightmares renovation. Way too many items on the menu which could be pared down to less than the novel it is to read and choose what to eat. We had an omelette which was poorly cooked and taste was not appetizing at all. This place may have based their reputation on people who ate there during a hurricane years ago, but it needs a lot of help to make it a place I'd want to go back. Denny's and Waffle House are down the road!

Worst mousaka and lasagna ever. Staff needs to learn how to behave in front of customers. Way to casual with their conversations. Will not return.

Greek food is a fine melody of the finest pressed olive oil, fresh fermented bread, colorful vegetables, juicy meat, sea food all cooked in spices and fresh rosemary. The people from Greek were great scholars who aimed to excel in everything they do. The results are quite visible in their food as they are the inventors of olive oil which is beneficial to health. Greeks also made different type of wines from the best quality of grapes fermented in controlled environment.
Today, you can find hundreds of restaurants offering authentic Greek food or popularly termed as Mediterranean cuisine in New York city alone. People wait in line to taste the exotic Greek dishes like saganaki, taramasalata, souvlaki, loukoumades, spanakopita, moussaka, and many more. One thing which most people like about these authentic Greek dishes is abundant use of lemon juice, olive oil, fresh rosemary and sea salt. A smart mix of few ingredients can virtually take you on the pebble streets of beautiful city of Greece.
For those who don't have time to enjoy fine dining should try tasting the famous souvlaki with pita which is type of meat dish, also a trademark Greek fast food. For those who are vegetarian, or vegan can try different versions of Greek Salad. So, if you wish to enjoy a hearty yet healthy meal that tastes divine then try dining at the best Greek restaurant in your city. Greek cuisine not only tastes good but also help maintain your body in a natural way through healthy diet.

Yay
(1)Kristen C.

HORRIBLE and very RUDE service. Never again.
(1)Adam S.
The service can be inconsistent, but the food is worth it! Huge portions for a decent price. Save room for dessert as well, they make pies in house.
(4)Vanessa P.
(4)Christine S.

The harbor city diner is awesome! Huge menu and huge sandwiches! I would definitely recommend checking this place out for breakfast or lunch! I will definitely return :)
(4)TJ M.

(5)Ralph L.
Good value for the price and good daily special. Service is slow but most all foods on the menu are freshly prepared in their kitchen. The very best Cornbeef Rubin I have eaten at a restaurant. Drinks are somewhat expensive but they offer free rifills. They also offer beer and wine selections.
(3)Gary M.
12 bucks for a gyro, sorry that's over the top, went to another Greek restaurant had their gyro platter, $6.95 and it was great.
(3)Wesley S.
They have amazing Pie! Best Deserts in the county ;)
(3)Chad G.
Three meals, hamburger was great, better than most. Turkey club was large, avg. Italian sausage and peppers was avg. but on special, red sauce wasn't anything to talk about. Service was good, never had an empty drink glass.

(1)Jay K.
Food is very good with generous portions. However unbareably noisy at prime time.
(2)Baron J.

(2)Bill S.
First time here. Noisy, but it was busy. It was busy because food was great. Had the chicken stir fry and chicken rice soup. Generous portions and ver tasty. I would certainly eat here again. Great service too.
(4)Melanie A.
(4)Cas B.
Mediocre service coupled with mediocre food. I'm not coming back. The portions are fairly large, and maybe that's to make up for the flavor. It was really sub par and did not meet my expectations. I was not impressed.
(3)Chloe C.
Grumpy service and bad food. They were out of almost everything we wanted to order for dessert. There was stuff floating in all of our waters, too- gross. Don't recommend this place.
(1)Gary F.

(4)Alexander M.
Extensive menu, huge portions. An omelette feeds two. It seems only women work the front of the house, and men the kitchen. Service was fine. Outdoor seating available. Breakfast was good!
(4)simon d.
We had a fantastic meal tonight especially the chicken Parmesan it was enough for 4 people. The wait staff was super friendly.
(5)Brian C.
This is a great restraunt with awsome food and a very large menu selection. They are friendly, reasonable, and a great atmosphere.
(5)Tony G.
My family has been coming here for years. Great food , and the portions are big! Never had a problem here. Best burger in brevard!!!!!!!!!
(5)Dori M.
Huge portions. Fast service two people can definitely split one cheeseburger. Great prices great service
(5)Carrie R.
(3)Mary L.
(3)David C.
(2)Elisa M.
Ever... From getr.
(2)Chriscoral A.
This place has been going downhill for years. The service was always horrible. Poor management. Last time we ate here I got sick. Now we read it has the dirtiest kitchen in brevard county and about to 5 shut down by health department. Beware of this place.
(1)Kristina D.
10 dollar minimum on to go food.. Fine! I figured adding bacon to my 899 salad would get me there..349 to add bacon.. To a salad!!!! Took an hour for my food to be delivered and I am not impressed
(1)Jeff K.
(4)Denny C.
(1)Michael M.
Worst mousaka and lasagna ever. Staff needs to learn how to behave in front of customers. Way to casual with their conversations. Will not return.
