Pretty good Mexican restaurant in the heart of Melbourne. The food is top notch but the service is not too good. The complimentary chips are delicious and the salsa is very good as well. I ordered my usual carnitas and it was delightful. I have had the Azteca soup and that is also very good here.

I have been here many times and to many of their locations. Every location is decorated in that rustic baja style so many Americans are used to. I must say that the food here is not my favorite at all. Usually dishes are under spiced and overcooked. Meat dishes like Machaca come out dry and tacos come out with stale shells and lack flavor. Mariachis make for a good enviroment but the food is equally as important.

Small place with limited seating. the place definately looks like it once had a working drive thru, like it was originally a mcd's or burger king. The benches for the booths are hard. The chairs are little better, but despite this I enjoy this restaurant as a lunch spot. I love the lunch fajitas, theu're basically the same size as the dinner portion, but cheaper. Beer can be had by the pitcher. The beer is kept cool with a frozen ice stick that is in a plastic container, so it wont water down the cervesa. The fajitas come with rice, guac, refried beans and diced tomatoes. Pancakes come on the side. the fajitas itself comes on a sizzling platter with grilled onions and peppers. Good on the pancakes or just eaten off the plates. Overall enjoy the food. For a quick delicious fajitas linch, this is the place. Just keep the expectations on the seats and furniture in check.

Awful, tasteless, slow....beer on tap should never come in a plastic mug. In fact, I really don't understand why you'd even use a plastic mug in a sit-down restaurant. House margarita was clearly pre-mixed, and likely tequila free. Salsa was even icky....should have been our first clue. Bad salsa=get up and walk away. The chips were stale to boot. Entrees were painfully bland. Just Say No.

We eat here often both inside and "take out." We have never been disappointed at anything we have ordered, the chips and salsa are wonderful and plentiful, the food fresh and tasty, and the service great. A wonderful place to enjoy mexican dishes.

I'm surprised at some of the low reviews for this restaurant. The food here is great! Yes, the service and salsa isn't the best I've ever had but I overlook these negatives because like I said, the actual meal is soooo good! I've had the burrito, enchiladas, and carne asada...I loved them all. Also, they have very cheap prices. My meals always come out to under $10 with a drink. Can't beat that!

Love this place.. Been coming here since they moved from their original location on Sarno and Croton next to the movie theater. The ambience does leave something to be desired, and it can feel cramped....but the food is delicious - my favorite is the chicken chimichanga. The spinach enchilada is yummy too. The place is a popular lunch spot, and is almost always packed at lunchtime during the week... You might have to wait.

There's nothing spectacular about their food. It's good for when you just want that quick fix for Mexican food. However, the servers were friendly.

If you are looking for a restaurant where you can forced to sit a booth that is falling apart and when it rains outside the rain water falls on the table inside then this is your place to go!!! The food is good so so I recommend take out for this restaurant.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
