One of the best Chinese restaurants in the area and it is NOT a buffet! Located in the Publix shopping center at Lake Washington and Wickham roads, China Palace is about the only sit-down, non-buffet Chinese restaurant for miles. The staff is courteous and friendly. The food is outstanding. And it's quiet and relaxing. The beef with broccoli had tender, juicy meat and fresh, crisp broccoli. The General Tso's Chicken has a perfect glaze over chicken that actually has a (still) crispy coating (at other places, this coating is usually soggy from the glaze). If you're tired of noisy buffets with fast-food quality dishes, China Palace is the place to go.

The palace has gone bad! My office crew has been looking for a new chines takeout place and we saw the reviews here, thought it would be our new regular place. How wrong we were. Now one review of bad food is one thing. But all four of us hated it. The food, ALL the food was too salty. I'm talking about the soup, sauces, breading EVERYTHING. And it's not as if I hate a little salt. Everyone that ordered took a few bites of all the food and ended up throwing it out. I will never eat at this place again.

We just finished lunch at the China Palace. Since it was during the week, we were the only ones in there. We were waited on right away. Their lunch specials are very inexpensive and our entire bill came to only 16.00. that included soup, egg roll and two entrees with rice. The food was very good, we will be going back.

Visiting the restaurant countless times largely due to its location and the convenience to my work . Sometimes it's ok too many times there is a carelessness on how they prepare their food. If you have to fill your stomach with something and you want a $7 lunch then go for it. If you want something consistently good, go elsewhere.

Another disappointing place to eat, wonton soup was the only that was good.. Not sure what the good reviews were from. But beef w brocolly and fry rice all in the trash.

I have found it nearly impossible to find a GOOD Chinese restaurant in this area and decided to try this place out based on the previous review by Mike H. Although it's not much to look at from the outside, inside was warm and inviting, though a little sparse. I took a seat and the waitress was quick to greet me and ask what I wanted to drink. I had their hot tea, an oolong, which was nice and strong. Although it's not my favorite Chinese dish, I tend to judge a Chinese restaurant on how their General Tso's is, so I ordered the combination platter ($8.95) which included a choice of eggroll or crab rangoon, eggdrop soup or wonton soup, and steamed or fried rice. I ordered the eggroll and eggdrop soup. The soup came out immediately and was very fresh. If you like a good Chinese mustard, you will enjoy their homemade mustard. It packed a nice kick with the eggroll. The General Tso's came out shortly after (pictured) and did, indeed, still have a nice crispy coating on it. The coating however, wasn't your typical General Tso coating, it was more like what you expect on a sweet and sour dish, though still very good. The chicken was wonderfully tender white meat that almost melted in my mouth. If you like your General Tso's glaze on the sweet side, you will enjoy this one. It wasn't overbearingly sweet, just too sweet for me as I prefer my General Tso more spicy. The portions were reasonable and I left feeling satiated, not bloated. I will definitely be back to try them for my favorite dish, Hunan chicken - extra spicy!

Ordered take-out from this place Saturday, and was very disappointed with the experience. Even though it was clear I was the only customer (no other take-out orders being prepared and no one in the dining room), the staff seemed annoyed to have to get the order ready. When I arrived to pick it up, it was sitting in a bag on a dining table getting cold, rather than in a place where it could stay warm. I had the sesame chicken combo plate. The chicken was OK, but the pork fried rice was very bland -- I couldn't find a single vegetable or egg in it. The egg roll was the biggest disappointment. Not only was it smaller than the ones that come with similar meals at other local places, but the interior was all mushy like the type we buy in bulk at Costco. Overall, the cost of $9.99 was higher than this dinner costs everywhere else -- for lower quality. I recommend skipping this place if you want a better value and a tastier meal.

I have been here several times over the years. The service here is very good. The restaurant itself is nice though it could use some updating. The food is consistantly good which is a rarity these days. The food comes quick so no long waits to quiet your hunger. Give them a try for lunch or dinner and enjoy.

My Boyfriend ate here last week and had the General Tso's. He did not like the sauce but we decided to give it another shot! On this visit we tried Chicken Lo-mein, Sesame Chicken, pork fried rice and an egg roll. Eggroll was delicious as was the sesame chicken. The chicken lo mien and pork fried rice were rather flavorless however. This place is OK and we might give it another shot some day.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
