Made reservations through Open Table and ate here with my wife on vacation. I wanted to take her out to a fancy romantic dinner and this place delivered. The prices are high, but you get what you pay for. Food was fantastic and service was great. I had a filet mignon (outstanding) and my wife ordered the salmon. The salmon was some of the best I've ever tasted (and I've had a lot). You can tell just by taste it is extremely fresh. 2 Entrees, 4 glasses of wine and coffee for dessert came to $130.00 including tip.

This place is awesome! Great food, great service, great piano bar. Cool ambiance, we can't wait to return when I get back to Melbourne.

I luv coming here when i'm in town. This is a great happening spot with beautiful patio seatings and trendy indoor dining. It was very busy on the weekend during my visit. The service was a bit slow since it was packed. The food was excellent. My Seared Tuna was a bit salty so will order the Seabass or Salmon next time... BB had Steak and it looked pretty delicous. We also got Chocolate Cake for dessert but it was devoured quickly before i had a chance to lay a finger on it....so cannot comment on the taste or flavor...Looking forward to my next visit :)

My favorite restaurant in Melbourne Beach, especially during this time of the year when it is really cozy to sit outside by the fire pit with a glass of wine from their great selection. The service is always great. The food is fantastic (my favorite: the seafood crepe appetizer). It is also really fun to go for happy hour appetizers.

Steak good..Seafood lousy The good news, steak, service. Bad news, the sea bass was either rancid or 5 day old amberjack. Terrible. Crab cake was really just lousy. The Caesar salad was wet, just washed which was good, but wet so the dressing couldn't stick to it. Anchovies were not available meaning the dressing was bottled. Undercooked Lobster tail, meaning frozen first. Service was good, no complaints there. Atmosphere was nice, bread was good, escargot was very good. Price was high given the low quality of the seafood. It has been seven years since I was there last, I can wait another seven to try it again.

We came for dinner around 7 o'clock. Happy hour crowd was here so the dining room area was not very crowded which was nice. The burger with caramelized onions and blue cheese was good. My husband had the fillet he said it was above-average so that was good the service was nice atmosphere was nice it was a nice dinner

Sat at the bar for dinner. The bartender was excellent as was the food and ambiance. I will definitely be coming back here.

Food is good but not worth the prices they charge. Portions very small. My salmon had the texture, taste and appearance of frozen salmon, not fresh. I've had much better salmon at Longhorn. The restaurant is very clean. The interior is modern but very odd. Service is very good and friendly, but because of prices, I won't be back.

Well, upon entering it smelled in the restaurant of poop and sewer. Not very nice. There were candles lit which eventually masked the sewer smell but then the stench of the candles was overwhelming. I personally do not like to smell anything but the food when I am eating. Besides this, the food was excellent. I was there on Friday night for happy hour and they did not have all the ingredients for cucumber martini which was disappointing. But lucky for me they had everything tonight. Escargot appetizer in creamy parm pesto sauce is ridiculously good. Delicious and crunchy crust bread. I had the sea bass in beurre blanc-fabulous. Bass cooked to perfection-a light sear, light and flakey. My husband had the special-filet mignon with crab on top-also delish and meat was cooked to order. Mashed potatoes and vegetables were all good. Veggies were nice and crisp not soggy and overdone. Service was good. Dinner for 2 was $150 so it's not cheap but definitely worth it. Hopefully they can figure out the source of the noxious smells and get some unscented candles.

Came for dinner on Xmas Eve with a party of 12. Made reservations but still waited in their cramped lobby with our entire party for 30 minutes. Never offered a drink an extra chair nothing. After we were finally seated we waited over 20 minutes for a menu. We actually had to get up and ask. Food took forever. We waited 45 minutes. The food was prepared well, but by the time it was delivered to our table it was all cold. This was the fault of our clearly untrained server. After locating a manager to complain he did try to salvage our experience by picking up our bar tab and taking $50 off our bill. I appreciated his actions but kinda too little too late. I may try again, but never with a large party on a holiday. They were just not equipped to handle the night.

Went here for a light bite / drinks on a cold Wednesday night after being recommend to from the Port hotel down the street (4 blocks). I was expecting a stuffy steak house (reason we didn't go on our trip last year), but I was quite wrong. The downstairs i the Red Show Lounge. Darkish, modern vibe. Seated promptly in comfy chairs and we ordered some drinks and a few appetizers, all while listening to the piano player (yes, he did the cliche piano man, but not too many Billy songs). Food was great, atmosphere was great. We will go back.

I decided to have a decadent and adventurous meal and on the staff's suggestion I tried the seafood crepe. Absolutely exquisite. The new york strip was suggested but I am a rib-eye man - and their 22 ounce bone in rib-eye was beautifully done. Frenched rib and cooked to perfection. I love a good rib eye and this was a good rib eye. Also worthy of note: The bartender told me the prince of monaco would be dining at the establishment that evening with a supermodel. So, I guess you could say the cuisine is sufficient for royalty. Yes, the prince really showed up. No, I did not take a picture. I just wish the place wasn't so out of the way. It was a little noisy for my tastes though, so conversation could be difficult.

Service was terrible and unfortunately ruined the dinner. We sat outside, the inside is old stuffy and there was a mildew smell. The food was good but wouldn't go back.

I really can't recommend Djon's highly enough. We went Sunday night with a friend, and I was immediately surprised by the interior decor. Very cool and trendy, and much larger inside than I realized. I sort of wished we'd come earlier because outside is a really fun fire pit to sit around. We sat in the main dining room, which was very nice and very quiet. White chairs, white curtains, red accents, crystal chandliers... beautiful. Our server (Trevor, I think) was so friendly and personable, and the food was spectacular. Escargot, King Crab spring rolls, scallops, filet mignon, lobster bisque... we ate a ton and loved every bite. My French Martini was delicious too! Its expensive and probably a special occasion place in the dining room, but we will remember it and definitely be back. And I can't wait to try a more casual evening by that fire pit.

Now called Djon's Steak and Lobster House - I have been here several times for business dinners and on one special occassion brought my wife, always excellent steaks. One night our guest with many world class steaks under his belt exclaimed that this was the best Delmonico he had ever been served. Area's for improvement on cooking accuracy and Sommalier skill. I estimate about 10% of the time we have sent back a steak for being overcooked. This is far too often for this high end of a joint. We also had a very expensive bottle of French wine that was corked, No shame in that, it happens... But they made such a big fuss over it asking us to taste it again after they decanted it. Quite embarrassing and the wine tasted like a damp basement, it was so far off. So they lose a star for these problems, but when they get it right the food is fabulous.

I went to Djon's as a group, and the bill was paid by someone else. I'll be honest in saying it's a bit more expensive than the establishments I typically frequent. The food was all very well prepared, and the rich seafood crepe was very good + decadent. The shrimp and grits featured very large, flavorful shrimp. But what I really want to commend is the excellent service that our server, David, gave us. It was a large group of 10 women FOOD BLOGGERS (a tough crowd to please). When one of the girls in my group didn't care for her drink but was too shy to say so, he noticed and went to the bar and re-made it himself. He was attentive but not obsequious, and was friendly and inquisitive and fielded all of our questions and was patient with all the photos that come with blogging territory. This young man should be given a raise, because I'm sure that whatever he's being paid he deserves more!

Excellent service, atmosphere and our food was delicious. Of course most of us had the filet mignonette because it is a steakhouse. It was butter knife tender. Very nice happy hour drinks as well. Planning another trip there again at the end of our vacation week. An absolute go to!

As good as it gets is right on the money. The service is always second to none. They remember you wether you come twice a week or twice a year and the food is spectacular. So good we went back two nights in a row! Also, the piano bar in the lounge is a great way to unwind with a nice after dinner drink. The second night we were there we sat out side. There is simply no way I could articulate the wonderful environment that has been created from the water features and fire pits to the tiny pebbles and bamboo - the attention to detail in creating an environment that relaxes is amazing. Last notes of importance, they have a fantastic wine list as well as some very fine selected cigars to accompany their cognac selection. I could dine here every day and die happy.

Food here isn't horrible, it is just tasteless. My wife described my steak as if they had rinsed it with water to take out all of the flavor before cooking it. Came with what tasted like instant mashed potatos, 8 green beans and bread. This for $36. My wife's scallops were burnt on the ouside and raw in the middle. We like a nice sear but these were evidently cooked on and extremly high heat which burnt them without cooking the middle. it came with a pretty good risotto and 8 green beans. The bill with 2 glasses of wine and a side salad ($7) + tip came to $117. My review is that this establishment is trying to be upscale without having quality food.

Ahhhh...for the area, this place is a treat. My husband took me here for a nice dinner before I left for 6 weeks on a business trip. We just moved from Coronado, CA and have high expectations for fine dining! I have to say, I was skeptical that this place would meet our expectations for a nice dinner but i was pleasantly surprised! I wish I could remember our waiter's name, he was phenomenal! The restaurant itself has a great view of the Indian River in a historic building that used to be a brothel. The front of the restaurant has that old saloon feel, and the back has a beautiful, classic look. It's a beautiful venue. To start, we shared the lobster bisque as an appetizer...wanted to lick the bowl! We both got a "mexi-tini"...basically a margarita without all the nonsense. SO GOOD. The waiter made perfect recommendations for wine pairings with our entree orders: My husband ordered a steak, which he kindly let me sample: melt in your mouth good! I had grilled scallops on risotto, which was dellicious. We finished with creme brulee to share, which was the cherry on top of an amazing dining experience. Our waiter really made the meal. He was just fantastic. We will be back...may just be our go-to "nice dinner" place in Melbourne!

This place is a throwback to nice dining in a great way! We loved the atmosphere and the food was great! The service was impeccable. This place is pricy but it is a dress up some, go out special place which on the beach is hard to find . Plan on taking my parents there in next couple of weeks for their anniversary! Can't wait!

Sat at the bar and enjoyed the trio sing oldies. Great atmosphere. Oysters were fresh and tasty. Crab and lobster cakes were fantastic. Wine by the glass reasonably priced. Bartenders very friendly. Service for the food was a bit slow but not bad and worth it. I am sure to return.

Excellent food, service and atmosphere! We went for our anniversary. The key lime martini was delicious and the filet was the best I've had in a very long time. We will definitely be coming back on special occasions.

The food was well made and I could not get enough of the escargot. The service was good and I was very pleased to spend a relaxing meal alone with a newspaper and a piano playing in the background.

Let me start off by saying I'm knocking this review down a star based on the service, or lack thereof in the first 15 minutes upon our arrival. I hate to do that. I don't like those people. And now I am one. Oh well. Seriously though-15 minutes is a long time to wait for someone to give you a menu, water, bread...anything...especially when you are starving and watching others around you eat deliciousness. After the crappy service I was kind of dreading the food because in my experience the crappier the service, the crappier the food. However, this time I couldn't have been more wrong! Our filet and sirloin were buttery goodness. The sauce that accompanies the steaks is to die for and the potatoes were perfectly whipper. I know those things seem simple but for some reason most cooks outside of my grandma get those wrong. I would most definitely come back but you have been warned of the possibility of sub-par service.

Yet another business dinner... Djon's was the choice of our host and it worked out very well. Situated on the intercostal waterway the location was very nice. Overall I got a sense that I was in a bit of a time warp (the vibe, decor, clientele) - kind of 60's Rat Packish. Our waiter/server was a little too chummy and was frequently interrupting conversation and the flow of the gathering to interject different things. Not rude, just a little disruptive. The meal (Delmonico steak entree) was very good, but not great (the wine was outstanding though). I doubt that business will bring me back to this location, but I would come again if the opportunity allowed.

Overpriced for average food. HORRIBLE service!! There are MUCH better upscale restaurants on the Spacecoast. Try the Yellow Dog Cafe, Cafe Margaux, or Yen Yens.

Relativity... it is a 5 star restaurant for the Melbourne, FL area. It is not in Melbourne like what it is listed on its website. The portion size is quite sizable. I had two large pieces of ahi tuna. My husband ordered the Kobe Burger and it was good just right. The service was really excellent after a disappointing trip to Chart House a month before.

  • roaches F.

Come on Djon - how about you either cut your prices or start serving real portions and stop ripping everyone off with your fake accent, your cheesy ambiance, and especially your unseemly and wholely inappropriate affection for your patron's female companions. The portions you serve are so miniscule as to be laughable - guess that is you laughing at your clientele who try so hard to be cool while snacking on food that while prepared well, lacks any pretense of value. Your kitchen cannot keep up with a busy night; you serve really small portions; your prices are way over the top for what one gets; your entire experience reminds me of a bunch of clueless "beautiful people" trying to be cool. Not a good place for people who care about the entire quality of the evening when dining out - my money is hard earned, and I won't be taken advantage of anymore.

Well had heard from a couple profusely how this restaurant gives them the best meals they have ever had in their life- so decided to spend my one year anniversary here. $180.00 Later SO DISAPPOINTED. We chose the duck and steak tips duo and the Kobe burger. Kobe burger was excellent, but then again we could have had this at a number of places for half the price. The duck although advertised to us as crispy(as I like it) was not at all so tended to be way over fatty. Flavor was fair. The brocolli served was mostly yellow indicating it wasnt really fresh. The wine was excellent our favorite Ferrari Curano Chard. Ther service was excellent. The atmosphere is nice but you can tell it has been let go, the wall we sat next to had crud all over it and in need of a paint job. Overall was sad that we spent as much as we did because honestly it was a $50.00 meal. Oh well at least we know now.

Actually, it's Djon's, and the one at this address is called Djon's Chop House. But Djon, himself, owns several other restaurants in the area including Andiamo (Italian) and City Tropics Bistro. Djon's Chop House leans toward being a French restaurant. It's in a lovely riverfront location in Melbourne Beach and is in a renovated two story house. Currently, he is in the process of remodeling and his taste is impeccable. My review is based on my experience at my own wedding reception which was held on a Saturday evening for about 70 people in the newly renovated back room. The food was served efficiently and although I never tasted the hors d'oeuvres, I heard they were amazing from several guests. Dinner began with a Caesar salad that could have used a bit more dressing for my taste, but this was quickly resolved by our server. This was followed by a perfectly cooked (medium) filet mignon and probably one of the most delicious lobster tails I've had in a long time. Accompaniments included sauteed spinach and whipped potatoes. Everything was delicious and was at a perfect temperature. Accommodations for vegetarian guests were made promptly, as were accommodations for those allergic to shellfish. The service was excellent. The bartending was excellent. The room was beautiful. I have no complaints. I will definitely return.

As a party of two couples that have dined all over the world and are pretty savvy to restaurant protocol, we were astounded when the manager asked us to leave as soon as we paid our check! Not only did we drop well over $300, but we tipped at least 25%, and we paid the bill as soon as the server presented it. If the manager had at least explained they were busy (which they were not) and were expecting another party soon and if we would move to the bar, he would buy us an after dinner drink, we would have obliged graciously (even without the drink) and not felt such a stinging rebuke. My husband refuses to ever step foot in the place again. Too bad, because the food and service were fine and over the years it was a place for special times and events with family and friends.

A great spot, great lounge and bar, separate quiet dining room areas, the live entertainment on Saturday was a trio - piano, sax/flute and drums - they had great stuff from Frank and friends to chicago to you name it. Food was fabulous as was the service. This spot is a sleeper, please only tell your best friends! For more than 5 they have a great private room with plate glass windows overlooking the piano and bar areas, but quiet and apart from the rest of the dining room, seats 8 or so.

If you are looking for white tablecloths, excellent service and great food this is the place for you in Melbourne Beach. It is not cheap but you get what you pay for. My wife and I go here for all special occasions.

I just expected a little more "bang for my buck". The food was towards the top as opposed to over and I'd say the same for the service. It was a nice experience and I am glad I chose to take my mom there. She was extremely pleased. *Piano bar is lovely.

My DH took me here for a special birthday milestone in July(OK i realize this is september ive been busy :-/). Its located on the end of a pier which we took a walk down on after dinner....you should try that. From the outside it looks like a quaint little house. Once you walk in there's an elegant room with a piano and we were given the option of sitting in that room or the dining room in the back and we chose the dining room when we went to take a peek. That room was more modern and to my taste. For starter, I had the lobster bisque which was just as everyone described(very good). DH who isnt very fond of lobster bisque had a taste and agreed. For the main course, I had the Sea Bass and it was cooked perfectly. DH had the Filet which he enjoyed. The service was very efficient and the waiter suggested a wine that was the perfect accompaniment for my sea bass. Ambience was nice and romantic and the perfect choice to celebrate my birthday. Very well done.

I visited Djons with a large group of friends to celebrate a couple birthdays. This place is truly a hidden gem. It is located steps away from a beautiful pier. Our group sat outside in the pleasant evening breeze. Te patio area is complete with tiki torches and a gorgeous firepit. Their menu is simple but complete. There are enough options to please anyone's palate. The meals all come with mashed potatoes and green beans, which is not noted on the menu. Each meal also comes with a salad and fresh warm bread for the table. I decided to order the duck, since steak is something I make frequently for myself. The skin was wonderfully crispy, and the cherry sauce on the side was perfect. My friend ordered the seared scallops which he said we're delicious, but the portion size was smaller than expected. We briefly visited the inside of the restaurant, which was beautiful. They had someone playing piano and singing an assortment of popular music. Overall, we were all pleased with our experience. It was worth the hour drive from Orlando!

My wife and I went to the restaurant for our anniversary and was very surprised at the quality of food and service considering we have never heard of this restaurant. Our server, Rebecca was phenomenal and helped to make the special event a memorable one to include accepting delivery of my wife's roses and presenting them after we were seated. The baked brie and oysters Rockefeller was everything Rebecca described and more. My wife had the Australian lamb chops well I had the bone in tomahawk ribeye. the entire experience was world class and I will definitely be returning as well as recommending this quaint historic restaurant to friends and family in the future.

Just finished a birthday dinner for my wife. I had a filet chef special and my wife had the lobster with filet. Steaks were incredible and the best lobster tail we've tasted. By far, the best dining experience we've ever had. Just wonderful. John was an amazing server.

1st visit to Djohns was on Valentines day: SERVICE: despite being one of the busiest evenings, I felt my service was very personal and attentive. One improvement Would be to offer a stool for the ladies hand bags, I didn't like my girl friend putting her high priced bag on the floor (this is fairly normal amenity in high end dining) DINING ROOM: Had a very elegant and personal feel. Not too loud and had a modern feel with up- to-date decor DRINKS: had the Malbec, very smooth, great with the steak. My complaint is I had to send my drink back twice because there was a quark floating in the wine, need to do a better job at opening the wine bottle. FOOD: the menu was set at a 4 course meal but you could choose between several options ranging from $65 to $99 per person. We had the filet and the sea bass for the main protein, both cooked very well. However, the lobster roll and crab cake for the app was missing something as it was fairly uneventful. Overall, this is fine dining restaurant with one of the best locations in Melbourne. I expected more flavor, more "pizazz" and/or some type of unique approach to the food, it ended up just being a very well cooked steak, potatoes and veggies; I can get this just about anywhere. Finally, can you please turn on the reservation feature on Yelp?
