Hubby and I stopped in here for breakfast yesterday (Sunday) on our way out of town, back to Delray Beach. Perfect Cup was recommended to us by our kayak guide. It's a little kitschy place with a good breakfast menu and reasonable prices. My husband ordered one of the specials -- Crabby Benny. He LOVED it! I had a bite of the it and literally spit it into my napkin. I thought it was the worst-tasting crab ever. It tasted like rotting fish. Maybe it was just the bite I had, but he loved it and swore it tasted great. I had a croissant breakfast sandwich that was fine. It's really hard to screw that up. What I particularly like about Perfect Cup was the service (mostly). They work as a team here, so a number of different folks served our table, and they were all very warm and friendly. The biggest disappointment was that their espresso machine was broken. They only had black coffee. I was sooo looking forward to a double espresso with my meal, and then a latte for the road. It just didn't happen. Perfect Cup is a "seat yourself" type of restaurant. When we arrived at 9:30, it was virtually empty -- only 6 other customers. At the point we were done with our main meals at 10:05am, we waited patiently for my husband's vanilla malt which took an inordinate amount of time. While waiting, several customers waiting to find a seat, along with staffers, kept looking at our table wondering when we'd get up so they could use our table. There were large groups who needed to push tables together. We'd literally been there 35 minutes and were just waiting for my husband's last food item! Two employees came to our table to ask us to go pay at the register. Really? We politely told them we would pay after he received his malt and after we received a bill. This is the reason for the 3 stars. While service was really friendly for the most part, we felt pushed out in an unreasonable amount of time. That, together with no ability to make any type of coffee drink brings my rating down to a 3. I will try them again next time we're in town and hope for a better experience.

The closest thing to the Florida Keys that I can relate to. Hustling little restaurant ( mom n pop place). All the locals eat here. Prices are great ! Menu has fresh catch ... Even serve Blue Crab for breakfast.

What an awesome little place, they staff is supper friendly and since it was our first time they explained the way the restaurant worked to us. My dad loved the Brazilian coffee they offered ! Definitely a place to go back to

Uhmm, this is a cute little place, however, the service was unorganized, the food was not awesome, we left almost all on the plates and sure we didn't want to take that home. We got there and everyone one would look at us but would not greet us or explain anything. I had to chase one of the waitresses to ask if we needed to be seated or if this was a self-serve restaurant, she then walked us to a table and gave us the menus. The food, omelets were not good, a bit dry and just blah...I did not understood the house potatoes recipe, it was like paper potatoes chips boiled, not yummy.

Very friendly and a bit funky ( in a good way ).. Good food, great prices. Waitress was a delight.

Coffee is excellent. Had ham, egg, mushroom & cheese omelet. Huge and delish. Hubby had 2,2,2 contained way more than 2 eggs and pancakes took up half the plate. He is a big guy but couldn't finish everything. Extremely full when we left however can't stop thinking about the lunch specials listed on their board. May have to head back for a late lunch. Staff was very friendly.

A very good breakfast. I read other reviews complaining about the service, but we found it great. My father grabbed the "big breakfast" and I had the breakfast burrito. Both were excellent. If your looking for ambiance, then go somewhere else. If you want a great meal with some local flair, then head here.

Another favorite place of mine! It could use a lil face lift but not there for looks! Love the coffee and breakfast always wonderful!

The place to be for breakfast and lunch! Everybody is very friendly and fast! It's very laid back, which fits to the atmosphere of the island! Food is awesome, simple but delicious! The coffee is the best!

Staff very friendly and accommodating. Decaf Coffee was wonderful. The jack sausage omelet was a most generous portion and the best omelet I've had in recent memory. I'm trying to figure out how I can be close to the area more frequently so I can enjoy more of the selections. My wife's eggs Benedict was perfect. Right amount of sauce with perfectly formed eggs. Well done staff. Give yourselves a big pat on the back.

Stopped for the first time today while in Matlacha for the week. It's a café that came highly recommended from several locals. While I wouldn't say that I "highly" recommend it, it's a decent stop for breakfast and coffee drinks. The waitstaff was super nice, prompt and helpful. I think every single employee asked us if we needed anything. I ordered the chai latte and the Mr. ordered a mocha. The large mocha is LARGE. Hysterically so, actually. The chai wasn't a strong as I prefer, but it was okay. I had the Crabby Big Daddy omelet (9.95) and he had the special -sausage, Arugula, provolone (8.95). Both were huge portions and fairly tasty. Everything could have used some more seasoning, but again...you have to cook for the masses. Second trip: Coffee was delicious. Bagel with salmon spread was absolutely smothered in pink cream cheese that didn't taste like salmon at all. Chowder was ice cold. They were super busy, which I appreciate...but we had to get our silverware, we couldn't get anyone to attend to the chowder, my husband never received the rest of his food, etc, etc. Maybe go when it's not busy. Overall, okay coffee place. Chilled atmosphere...nonplussed decor...friendly staff...reasonable cost.

Went for breakfast, and it was great. Love the serve yourself coffee bar with several coffee options, server was really friendly and attentive. We both ordered omelets, shrimp and spinach, and the chicken fajita with egg whites. Both were great, and got to the table within minutes. Looking forward to returning soon.

Small place full of local people. Only got a smoothie with my friends but wished I was hungry as the food looked amazing. Sandwiches and subs all fresh. The smoothies were delicious, and each time the lady brought them out to us she was excited and so nice. Definitely stop by for AT LEAST a smoothie

This is a great little breakfast spot. The staff is super friendly and the food was very good. The prices are very reasonable. I had a western omelet and I was very impressed!

I really enjoyed this place, it's very popular and busy. Everyone says it has the best coffee but I didn't try it. I did try the hot chocolate it was watery. The menu is very creative and interesting. I got the kielbasa with onions and mushrooms and it was very good. The grits were plain but I ordered a side of cheese and butter and doctored them up with butter and black pepper and they were delicious. They have a blue crab and asparagus omelet which looked really interesting. Lots of people ordered the bagel with lox and capers and it looked awesome. The owner came by at the end to check if we were happy with everything and we were!

Stopped here buy chance. The place is not much to look at, but the food and coffee were excellent. We had breakfast and everything we ordered was great. Service was so, so. but the delicious food and coffee made up for the the short coming.

Stopped in for breakfast while exploring the island. Seemed a bit pricey for a hole in the wall place with ok food. The coffee was ok, but certainly not all it's cracked up to be on the sign out front. We sat in the back in a room that looked as if it was under construction. I kept wondering if the room had even been permitted because it didn't look like it would pass an inspection.

Nothing special about this place, it looked run down. The service was mediocre at best! The only decent thing here was the Chi Latte.

Perfect cup is definitely one of my top 5 places to go here. The coffee is phenomenal they have a different flavor everyday. Mix it with the smooth and mild and it is great! Portions are perfect. I got an egg white omelette with bacon in it and it was incredible. I wish I could go every day. Service is great, you feel like you're a regular and it's just such a cute and awesome place to be. Definitely something to plan for your Sunday morning or whatever (:

Hidden gem. Order SEAFOOD CHOWDER. Amazing. I have never had better anywhere ever and I know chowder. We get it to go to have for dinner after we have it for lunch. You will not be sorry.

Service was horrendous. Waitress actually refused to get me a glass of water. Food took an hour and came out cold. Poached eggs were over cooked but I didn't dare send it back. I've been here several times and it has always been so so. Never again!

Looking for a new breakfast place, we decided to try Perfect Cup after looking at the excellent Yelp reviews. When I walked in, I saw a quaint little island dive restaurant that probably should have been packed. After sitting, I saw the layers of dust and neglect coating pretty much anything that was a flat surface and not a counter top or table. The dirt and grease on the baseboards, and splashes of food on the on walls was inexcusable. We ordered the egg white omelet with unbuttered toast, and sausage gravy with biscuits and eggs. What arrived at the table: Pretty standard grey sausage gravy over biscuits that weren't too bad at all. Eggs were fairly underdone for OE, and contained that "egg snot", but still mostly edible. The egg white omelet was more like an egg brown omelet. It was, as I said, brown. It had to be the single most unappetizing omelet I've ever seen - let alone stomached a taste from. I'll give it this: The brown omelet did not lack taste. I can't exactly say it was a great taste, but at least it tasted nothing like how it looked. As far as the "unbuttered toast" goes, it was absolutely soaked in butter. Actually dipped in the melted butter is my bet. We would have brought a few things to the attention of the staff, however none of them checked in on us after dropping off our gruel. They were far too busy showing each other Tube-You videos on their cell phones, and checking their social network statuses to be bothered by customers. There was a fly-by check drop-off and right back to the phones. Would I go back? Nope. I sure wouldn't.

Perfect Cup has the perfect cup of any kind of Joe you are looking for as well as omelettes to die for. We love making this our first stop when we come into Matlacha. They have amazing bacon & the omelettes are huge. The toast is delicious. The staff is always friendly & their coffee is delicious. Stop in & get a great start to your day!

When we arrived no hostess no sign saying seat yourself. I ordered the eggs Benedict with potatoes. Wife ordered egg whites with bacon toast and potatoes. Both got coffee from the self serve coffee bar which I thought was a pretty neat idea they had four different types of coffee available with all the fixins. The coffee was very good I had the Brazilian blend wasn't bitter and good deep flavor, my wife had the mint chocolate chip it was different not my cup of tea though. When we received our food everything looked good until I cut into my supposed to be poached egg the yolk was completely solid. I also noticed instead of Canadian bacon it looked like they had taken a piece of packaged sandwich ham and cut it in half. The hollandaise sauce was bland not a lot of favor. My wife seemed happy with her egg whites and the bacon was good. Considering the place and price I expected more organization and quality. The best thing they had goin was the coffee. Needless to say we won't be going back.

Good coffee , the omelets are good but the pancakes weren't up to par. Seems they cook it on the same grill that they cook everything else on so it absorbs the flavor of other foods. The place could use a good remodeling but I won't hold that against them cause it's all about the food for me. Other than that everything else was good including the service.

A decent cafe. Based on the reviews, I was expecting a little more. Nonetheless, a decent spot. Portions are large. Espresso was average, but better than elsewhere in the area. Brevé was above average.

Three stars for the food. This morning I had an omlete with kielbasa, peppers and onions. Service was fair. However as to the coffee, 1.5 star as it was completely underwelming. Coffees offered this morning were a blend of "Central American and African" or just "Central America." Nothing to say specifically what regions of either continent and there were no distinguishing characteristics in either. For a shop that roasts it's own it tasted slightly old and almost musty. I was hoping for better, unfortunately disappointing.

Alas, fair Perfect C, what tragedy so foul has befallen your succulent brew? Fluke, maybe, but vacations are too short to offer a second chance to a place that serves you up one of the worst lattes you've had in your life on day two. BUT I'm taking into consideration that I didn't give them a chance for a tie-breaker - thus the teeny drop to 3 stars instead of two. We didn't eat there this time; from the look of the crowd though, I assume the food is still worth showing up for. :)

We're thrilled we found this place! We went for a late breakfast and enjoyed it very much. Service was prompt. The restaurant is clean, just old and dingy. The waitresses were practically running, but we received good service. The coffee is some of the best I've had. We'll be back!

Best place for breakfast on the island. Get a large cappuccino and you better have all day. Great place, great food, where locals and vacationers go to eat. Get the feel of the island with local flavor . Good value for the buck. Try it once and you will be back again. Our favorite place !!!!

My family and I have been coming here every winter for three years. Awesome food and quite possibly the best coffee in Florida. The owner is a master roaster and perfects his craft right on site. Nothing compares to fresh roasted coffee beans. We always purchase 4-5 pounds to take back to Ohio with us. If you love coffee and great food don't miss it!

The perfect cup has the best clam chowder I have ever had for breakfast. The Asian chicken salad was also phenomenal with the starfruit all over it. There are many varieties of coffee that you can buy by the pound as well as get a french press to drink with your clam chowder. The staff was super friendly and I was told that they will ship me coffee if I'd like to order any of their coffees. I bought a pound and it was fantastic. This was definitely not corporate coffee! I will be hanging out at the Perfect Cup next time I go visit my cousin on Pine Island!

The coffee is the best! Breakfast and lunch offerings, ESP Irish Eyes and crabby big daddy omelet are flavorful and filling. Restaurant closes at 3, not 4.

  • Cathy S.

Crab omelet and Irish Eyes are both excellent. Locals abound and service is a team effort. This place is a great find - special omelets cost $10, but totally worth it. Go forth and eat!
