I come for the breakfasts. Best coffee in town, make sure they put the milk in the milkshake machine to get it nice and frothy first. I order the eggs, peppers and onions with a corn cake with cheese. It is an amazing breakfast. Sometimes I just order the pan de bono which is AMAZING!!!! The servers are very attentive, friendly and efficient. The owner is quite often on site and it is quite obvious that he takes a huge amount of pride in his establishment.

I love Colombian food and this place is pretty good in comparison to other Colombian places in the area. The portion sizes are great, and I have enjoyed almost every thing. The only negatives on the food are the fried fish- I am not sure why but they are not serving the typical Colombian fried fish which is crisp and salty with lots of lemon. The over season it with a mix (I am not sure what is in the mix) and it forms almost a crust in the fish. This is my favorite dish at every Colombian place even when I go to Colombia so I wish they would stick to the basics. The only reason that this is not 4 stars is because of the smoking that it permitted on the premises. It is pretty irritating to be confined to eating inside on nice sunny days because of this. Even as you are entering there are people that are permitted to smoke at the entrance tables.

Came here with some friends after skating. We had to wait a while because the place was packed. It had nice Latin music. When we sat they were really quick to help us out. They didn't have empanadas and we wanted some but the food was really good. The rice was really good and the breaded chicken was really good! The fish looks good and they serve the whole fish. Definitely a place worth going again.

Just happened by, was hungry - I thought what the heck. WOW what a little gem. I had the Carne Asada and this gringa was a happy camper! So tender and seasoned to perfection, the fried yuca was delicious, the salad wasn't fabulous could have been a little crisper with more salad dressing but everything else was SUPER TASTY, as was the Empanadas Columbianas. Very happy I ran across this place and will defintiely be back. I HIGHLY recommend it!

A hidden gem in Coral Springs! The surrounding area isn't the nicest, but I fell in love with the restaurant itself. It's tiny but always seems to have enough space and I love their outdoor seating for the rare occasions that our SoFla weather actually happens to be good. Anyways, this is my FAVORITE Colombian restaurant ever. I only have ever eaten breakfast or lunch here but have never been disappointed and the waitresses remember you and are always sweet and helpful. Pros: Food is hot, fresh and affordable! (ESPECIALLY breakfast!) It usually comes out quick for me and they've never forgotten anything I've needed before. I love the service and the environment. Prices are affordable enough and portions are never too small. Cons: I honestly can't think of one. Tips: They used to have a delicious dish on the menu called Bistec a Caballo (sp?) but you can still order it. I do every time, and if you're a steak lover, you will never get anything else. It's a large round steak with a sunny side up egg on top, rice with a sort of tomato sauce, fries, and beans. I know it sounds crazy but if you have a love of hispanic food like I do, and you're adventurous, try it! Another tip, like I mentioned before breakfast is SUPER cheap, and they used to have breakfast combos that came with Colombian hot chocolate...it's been a while since I've had time to do breakfast there so I'm not sure if they still do, but it tastes different than any hot chocolate I've ever had because I'm pretty sure its 100% authentic. If you're expecting a regular Swiss Miss, maybe not for you, but if you're a food adventurer and like to try new things, do it!!

DELICIOUS and authentic food. Well priced. Awesome service. We went in 10 minutes before closing (not realizing they were closing soon) and they seated us and didn't make us feel rushed at all, like some places would have. Food came out timely. Sat out on the patio. Nice atmosphere but beware of Mosquitos :) we ordered an order of Churrasco, Carne Asada, and Lomo Salteado. All delicious with huge portions. I also had the breakfast on a separate occasion, which was equally great. We will definitely be coming back!

IF YOU LOVE COLOMBIAN FOOD. YOU HAVE TO READ THIS. I used to go very often to the Balcon de las Américas, but unfortunately the food stopped being good. The servers were unfriendly and I stopped going to Colombian restaurants till I found PAL RANCHO. The service is excellent, the food is delicious. I usually don't take my time to download an app to review a restaurant. But this one really deserves it. I hope people start coming here and feeling the difference between a great Colombian restaurant and a bad one (el balcón de las Américas in sample Rd) PAL RANCHO IS LOCATED IN ATLANTIC BLVD AND CORAL SPRINGS DR. IN THE WALMART PLAZA!!

Very reasonable food prices and great flavor. The breakfasts are very generous portions and my husband and I split one breakfast (Calentado) all the time and still have leftovers. I also love the fruit drinks like the Passion fruit (maracuya) and Blackberry (mora). I really like that they have the bakery/snack section for quick bites when you're in a hurry or if you want bakery items to-go. Worth the visit!

Arroz con pollo was good. Churrasco was terrible. Needed a chainsaw to eat that steak.

I can't claim to be a connoisseur of Colombian food, but I know when I have a good meal. We eat here very regularly because the food is great and the portions are big. The people are friendly, the service is good, and you can sit inside or outside on the patio. I will let you in on a fascinating secret about this place. They have a deal called cantina. For $6 per person per night, you can order dinner for the week. You get the special for the night, or grilled steak or grilled chicken if they are out of the special. It comes with soup, salad, rice, entree, and a side, or some variation thereof. It is enough for dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow. Why would you do this? (1) You can't buy groceries and cook for this cheap. (2) Sometimes, life is too busy and it's a nice break to outsource the cooking for a week. (3) It is like a tour through their menu. Once I tried a fried fish fillet--not something I would normally order from a restaurant--and it was fantastic. They do great soup. One time I got fish chowder (sounds gross) accidentally, but tried it and it was really delicious. Cons: - it is easier to get by here if you speak Spanish, but I don't, and I do okay. The girls are very friendly even if they're not completely fluent in English. - don't go on Saturday night unless you want to be part of a rip-roarin' Columbian festival with very loud live music. - one or two of the items are foods Americans are not accustomed to eating, so be wary of tripe and, um, well...there is another part of the cow in one of their soups that I, uh...well, just stick to the chicken soup and the fish chowder. Overall, a fantastic experience. Also try them for breakfast. It's not crowded and it's a nice change from bacon and eggs.

You can always have a great, authentic Columbian meal! Their Empanadas and chorizo are extra special along with the ajiaco colombiano. Cheers!

I love this place. The food is so amazing. No matter what I order it's always delicious. The portions are big and filling. I always order on Saturdays from work with coworkers. It's usually a really big order and they never get it wrong. Which can't be said for most places that deliver. The drivers are friendly and pleasant. I will continue to order from them for a very very long time.

Best Colombian restaurant in north Broward county. I always come here for some empanada (my boyfriend is obsessed with them. I have to buy at least a dozen each time because he chows them down in less than a week) but this time I ate here with my mom. We started with corn tortillas. They are corn patties panfried and they place a slice of queso blanco in between the patties. Delicioso! As our main course, we share fish viudo (widow fish). Is an entire fish (I think we had pardo) with tomatoes, onion, and herbs on top. Great dish...enough to feed a family of 4. It came with rice, platanos, and a salad. I think they call it the viudo because the flavors are so great hat you could die a happy man right there. If you are in the area, El Balcon is must! This is what great Colombian food taste like.

The food is decent and the prices are reasonable. However, the quality of their meet is not up to par by my standards. The other night I ordered a churrasco (about$18) which is supposed to be a prime cut of steak. It was so full of fat and grizzle, that it was not enjoyable.

Let me just say that I love Colombian food! This place is a disappointment! If you love your taste buds and your money, I don't recommend you go there. The restaurant is nicely decorated, that's the only compliment I can think of. I don't everrrr write reviews but I felt like i had to share my disappointment!

Traditional as traditional Colombian food gets. The service is good and the food is made well. They have all the traditional dishes and I believe they have one of the better bandeja paisa in the area. The empanadas are very good as well and a must try if going there. I really like their breakfast menu.

I have been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time and I think my expectations were alittle to high. I went in for take out and the first thing I noticed was The restaurant is very clean and orderly, see pic. The staff were friendly and the service was quick. I had the Pollo a la Crolla, a side of tostones, and two beef empanadas. The chicken was pounded thin topped with a creole sauce served with a salad with house dressing, I think, and white rice.I also asked for some hot sauce because I wasn't sure how this creole sauce was and I like my food spicy. Everything was packaged up within 15 minutes and I was gone. I went straight home and opened up the container. It smelled real good, but I didn't like that they put the salad in the same container as the hot food. The salad was warm and honestly it sucked. The chicken was tasty, but not as good a LaGranja. Nothing really stood out about the sauce or the chicken. The sauce was mild and I'm glad I got the hot sauce. The rice was ok and it came with some fried yuca. The yuca was very good especially after I put some hot sauce on it. Some of the tostones were overcooked and to hard to eat. The bright spot were the empanadas. Nice crispy exterior with some flavorful ground beef packed inside. Hmmmmm, mistake #1 I should have eaten the food there. I have to give them some slack for having take out because the food especially the salad would have tasted better. Also I could have returned the Tostones for some new ones if I stayed. I can't fully recommend this one right now. I'm going to have to go back and eat in house before I stick my rep on the line. Stay Hungry!

On almost every street corner in South Florida, you can always spot a hole-in-the-wall mexican style restaurant nearby. There are unlimited choices regarding Hispanic cuisine in our area and they all tend to taste really similar and bland. El Balcon surpasses this common characteristic, the food is super tasty and packed with flavor. This place sells all kinds of Colombian goodies from fried talapia with fresh plantains to homemade awesome looking arepas. Their menu is simple and easy to read and there's plenty of choices for all kinds of eaters. I ordered the Milanesa which is essentially 2 large pieces of breaded chicken served with white rice, french fries, and a mini salad in the corner of your plate. They have super delicious salsas on the table and they also bring out other common sauces as well. The chicken was so crunchy and moist, the rice was perfectly done and the sauces turned my meal into a flavor explosion. The service is dreadful and the environment is sort of loud as well, but it's a fair trade-off considering the value and quality you get out of your food. Overall El Balcon offers solid tasting, Colombian inspired food, and my friends and I enjoyed our experience.

Good quality Columbian food at very reasonable prices. Located in the front parcel of a shopping center, the restaurant has a good size overhang which must be nice to sit under during the cooler months. They also have live music played here as well. Their menu has plenty to offer, including several famous Columbian soups. I felt like an assortment of foods so I ordered the Bandeja Pasa which was excellent. I also ordered a tamale which was awesome. The portions are generous and the service is friendly. It also has a decent size bakery. The only drawback is that the seating is a little tight. Don't expect to have an intimate dinner here....but if don't mind getting a little closer to other patrons in the restaurant, than come here!

It was a lively scene at this restaurant on a Saturday night. The patio out front was full of people, and there was a singer entertaining. Regarding the food, the Sancocho de Cola that I ordered could have been a little better. The soup was somewhat bland, and the oxtails could have been cooked more. They were a little tough.

Carne Asada was so dry Columbian Sausage we nuked, this place has really gone down, I go to the one on Powerline their food is much better

I am getting frustrated with this place. I work across the street... literally across the street. I have ordered delivery from them multiple times and the last two times I have ordered it has taken two hours for my food to make it a hundred feet away from the building. I order the chicken cilantro and its tasty but the last two times it has arrived dry and tasting like crap because they took a freaking month to get it to me. I will never order delivery from them again and therefore on days that I cannot leave the office (which is pretty often) they will not be considered. The food is delicious fresh... I would rather order a sandwich from Lesters and get it in an acceptable amount of time... Sorry guys.

When we parked and approached we were greeted by the sound of live music, very infectious. I had dragged my Florida family there to avoid a sports bar. My daughter a veteran of South America was in heaven. Food is good, authentic, and very reasonable. We are visiting from Boston, and I was looking to an alternative to the franchise menu. Go there, you wil not be disappointed.

For local Colombian restaurants, this place is one of the best (although in the Coral Springs area, there aren't many anyway). For appetizers, make sure you try pandebono (get a few, you will want more). Their Carne Asada and Bandeja Paisa are pretty good. Very nice covered patio area for eating outside. Service (like basically all Colombian restaurants in the area) is somewhat slow, but very friendly.

I have been fortunate enough to have been in Colombia a few times and I can tell you this is the real deal. Needless to say, I'm a regular here. There's a Bandeja Paisa with my name on it at least once a week. I love this food. I've also tried the grilled chicken, mushroom chicken, mojarra, churrasco, ajiaco... Heck, I've tried more than half the menu and I've liked or loved everything I've tried. Prices? Cheap. Two people can eat for $20 easy. Service? Great. The girls are friendly and extremely nice. On Sundays, they tend to have live music which I am not a fan of. So those days, I get takeout. If you like Colombian food you'll like this place.

One of the few places you can go to around here for culture. Food's just ok, but it's fun to go! You get the your Colombian meals and your late night food. I like: (Loose translations provided for gringos - pssssh, as if I know what I'm talking 'bout.) Chicharrones: uber fried pork fat =] Ropa vieja: shredded flank steak lovingly dubbed "old clothing" Perros: super hotdogs with ungodly condiments Cuatros leches: sponge cake soaked in evaporated milk, condensed milk, caramelized milk, and heavy cream...dude...it's like cake, caramel, and cream!!! There's music on the weekends by an over-enthusiastic DJ who plays a tambourine and maracas, while wiggling his hips, and flashing flirty smiles at the mujeres!

Ok if you are close to Sample Rd and Riverside Drive in Coral Springs and you are looking for great home made food you should check "El Balcon de las Americas" it feels like going to Colombia without having to bring your passport!. As soon as you enter you will listen to some nice Spanish tropical music (mostly from Colombia) the place has great staff from the moment you sit down you get greeting from everyone on a friendly way you say regulars giving handshake to the waiters and waitresses. First I had a small soup called the Ajiaco which basically is chicken soup and a small piece of corn on a cob, if you want sour cream on the soup it's optional, I passed on that! Second I had the Chicken on mushroom sauce with white rice and fried plantain with small chopped lettuce and tomatoes sauce, the plate was amazing the chicken had a lot of moist just the right cooking temperature. Overall this place deserve my personal A+.

Oh my arroz con pollo and carne asada! It's always a battle to see which one I choose. Their hot sauce and chimichuri are amazing and get put on everything. I love that they have the small bakery with all the favorites. I'll come in the morning to pick up some papa rellenas and pastel de pollos. The only thing I don't like is that the prices went up quite a bit over the last few years, while the portions stayed the same. Now I tend to get the arroz con pollo because it is in my price range $10.

Food is incredible BUT on our visit last Friday, the guy who sings outside in the evening, who I believe is the owner, was setting up speakers and moving tables around outside. He came inside twice to get a drink. The first time he finished it, then scooped ice out of the ice machine with the same cup he just dank from. The second time, he used his dirty hands to scoop ice out of the same ice machine. Disgusting!! Our waitress also got my order wrong but since it took so long for the food to come out, I just ate it. Irony is that the dish was awesome. Come on guys. Get it together. I won't be back for a very long while.

I like their breaksfast but lunch specials need a little bit of improvement. I had a fried fish lunch special and it was heavily breaded almost burned. Everything else was great. I would stick to grilled meats and stay away from the fried fish.

First time here. The place was packed which is a great sign. Our family tried Pollo quesadilla , Carne Asada and Bandeja Paisa ( steak , egg, pork belly, white rice and plantains with soup). Quesadilla was extremely delicious. My Kids loved it too. The 'Carne Asada' meat tasted 'funny' (read bad). Our enthusiastic waitress was absolutely ready to offer me a new dish or another piece of meat. I went for the same dish and was brought another plate of meat. Some parts of the meat still tasted bad/funny. Bandeja Paisa was OK too. I didn't find anything spectacular about the place.
