High Blood Pressure at Applebee's
Most of the foods served at Applebee's restaurants are high in sodium. Unless you are visiting the restaurant or dining here in the group, there are hardly any options from the main meals if you wish to keep your blood pressure in check. At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.
Later in 2007, IHOP Corp. now known as DineEquity, Inc. acquired Applebee's and began their journey together to make Applebee's the world's largest full-service restaurant chain. Today, Applebee's serves at more than 1,830 locations worldwide. The Applebee's menu ranges from Appetizers and Salads to heavy meals consisting of ribs and steak. I have been here lots because I live across the street. The kitchen always screws up our orders & the wait staff is pretty bad except for Tara the bartender & Joe a server. Only they are great.

Just came in to grab a quick lunch. It took a bit to get waited on... I ordered a chicken quesadilla and when it came out, no sour cream. When I asked for it, the waitress said, "I have to charge you 69 cents"... Wow! I said I thought they come with sour cream and she said, " not anymore"... Last meal at Applebee's and it's over 69 cents and poor customer service!

Typical industrial grade restaurant chain food. Tollusia (I'll call her Tollicious!) was the best part of my evening fare. Vivacious, witty and attentive. I started with a half order of pot stickers. A huge fail! Dinky little dumplings that are no doubt brought out of frozen hibernation with toss in the fryer. Note to Appleby's, pot stickers are wonton sized dumplings stuffed with pork and steamed!! These were dry and unappealing. Even with the one, not two in the menu photo, dipping sauce. For the entrée I ordered the Triple Bacon Burger medium rare with an up charge of $1.99 for a baked potato all the way. They only cook their burgers two temperature; pink and not pink. What came out was a bacon burger (with bacon mixed into beef plus bbq bacon ranch) which I score at 8. Starts off well and finishes strong. Note: The supply truck arrives on Wednesday (today) so the bun was fresh! The baked potato came with butter, sour cream cheddar cheese and bacon bits but no chives. That's a 5 in my book. I asked Tollicious to recommend a dessert and out came a white chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream, pecan pieces and a white blonde sauce as the topping. I've got to saw, it was pretty darn good; a solid 8. Total price with iced tea, $30.26. If you're looking for a grill only experience with little creativity, this is your place.

Haven't had Applebee's in like 10 years .... Now I know why. The burger was good but my fries had a hair in them. There was gum smeared all over the booth where we were seated as well. This place was filthy and needed a good cleaning. The menus were beyond disgusting. I doubt I'll visit this location again.

" Can you make sure my food is SUPER HOT?" Baked potato so cold ...could not eat more than one bite. Veg mix ( which male waiter didn't ask if I wanted...he just brought it) tasted faintly of seafood. So I didn't eat that either. Waiter questioned me several times because I said..."...please, no drink and no water". Continued to press the issue. " you mean your gonna eat a whole meal and not drink at all?" Buddy, that's NONE of your business. Then he SAT DOWN 10 feet from us and used a lobby pan and broom to clean the carpet. How lazy is that? Mozzarella sticks SUPER SALTY, greasy and COLD. Manager came by to see if food was right. We said things were fine so they would leave us alone. It was already 11 pm and I'm not waiting for them to REdo what I asked them to do in the first place.

Our family of 6 went there yesterday for the worst meal and service I have experienced. Service was VERY slow, even tho the restaurant was close to empty with several waitresses sitting at a nearby table. It took 20 minutes to get a beer and that long to get to order. My husband couldn't even eat his burger and sent it back. It was a hockey puck. One person at our table got their food 10 minutes before the rest of us. The grand finale was having to use a crayon to sign our receipt.

The burgers are great here but I love their pasta dishes. I love their sweet potato fries but they are pricey. I don't why that is when they are one and the same as the regular fries. But generally, it's a good restaurant.

Horrible attention! My family and I walked in and got seated by the host, and first of all he did not give us our utensils. The food was horrible! I myself ordered one of the all in burgers (which come with endless refills of fries) and when the waiter came with our food, my burger was the smallest thing I've ever laid my eyes on! Not to mention I got almost no fries! The people with who I was with did not like their meals either. The three cheese penne had no flavor and no cheese, the cedar grilled chicken was horrible, and the Grilled Sirloin had some flavor but still nonetheless it wasn't as good as we expected. Our waiter only came to take our orders, give us food, and then give us the bill. When I ordered my refill of fries our waiter came up with the excuse that they "weren't ready". I spent almost half an hour waiting for my fries ( I finished that sad excuse for a burger), and when our waiter finally came around to our table he brought the manager and even he tried to compensate it with the refill. To me that's not compensating it, that's just bringing me the refill I kindly asked for, at least he should have thrown in another burger so I can eat it with the fries. And not to mention the refill wasn't even that much fries I even believe that it was less than my original batch. But in the end the service was very horrible in this restaurant. And my family and I are still very upset with the service and management. DO NOT EAT HERE.

So hostess goes to seat us in booth, there is a sign attached to table that says stepdown. As we sit we noticed long blonde hair attached to sign, t removes it Hostess continues toplace silverware down..... are you kidding me? We have to ask to switch seats.... Of course she never adressed the hair or cleaned the table. I asked my server 10 mins ago how much was cocktail still no response. ....
(2)Kristi F.
The service was fine, but I will say this- If I was wandering the desert and I had to choose between eating my arm or some chicken tacos... I would have one less arm. Just.....no. To all of the people who have had to experience them, my heart goes out to you.
(2)Night Ryder I.
Admittedly, I didn't want to dine @ Applebee's in the first place, but we compromised rather than go with my preference of a Greek meal. We were promptly seated & our drink order taken right away. Reasonably priced offerings, ordered 2 for $20 Ribs-tasty and Napa Chicken & Portabellos-blah; also Savory Cedar Salmon--the spinach topping looked a hot mess, wilted & dried out--like the dish had sat under the warmer a good bit before being served. The server stopped by once or twice but was mostly absent when needed and was slow (albeit apologetic) or never brought requested items. The Hot Fudge Sundae shooter was a disappointment, mostly whipped cream & melted.
(2)Jessica L.
Got a Togo order and it was awful, brown lettuce and not fresh . Will not be going back.. Coral Springs Applebee's rocks !
(1)Berenise P.
Safe to say I'm not a fan of Applebee's.. Had bites of everyone's order at my table and wasn't satisfied. I'd pick any other chain restaurant over this any day. 2 stars for service even though the server brought us our check before we were done with our meal and for once we wanted dessert! Go somewhere else if you're indecisive about your restaurant choice!
(2)Kimberly S.
The overall experience and service is good. The food was edible haha. Actually, some of their dishes are not bad. The onion soup was ok.
(3)Tiffany G.
I hadn't been to an Applebee's in almost 10 years, and now I've been twice in the past couple months-once to this location and once with a friend to a Tampa location last month. My real complaint with Applebee's is that they got rid of their Veggie Patch Pizza. It was my favorite item on their menu when I used to frequent this place years ago. Luckily, the Tampa location was able to make me one!! A month later, I had a craving for it again, which was why I talked my husband into Applebee's for dinner, and was upset when this location said they would not be able to make me one. My husband and I were so hungry when we got here that we ordered: spinach dip, steak quesadilla towers, and boneless wings in our app trio- all surprisingly good, especially the quesadillas!! For my entree, I ordered the weight watcher's, Roma pepper steak dinner. I took the peppers off, but found my steak to be surprisingly juicy, the potatoes ok, and the stuffed portabello great! Best weight watcher meal I've had! For dessert, we shared the triple chocolate meltdown. I was not impressed. We didn't finish it. I see others complained about service in their reviews, but I think we lucked out with our server as she was very attentive- everything brought out quickly and our drinks constantly refilled! 3-3.5 stars, but I'll round up for the good service we encountered!!! Great experience for an Applebee's! My husband now prefers it to Friday's -though Friday's has better desserts!!
(4)Kelsey B.
Are you already on your way??! Stop right now. Just go to chilis! Somebody stuck you with a gift card!? Order it Togo! And don't expect anything delicious. Staff is friendly but inexperienced and slow moving. Expect to wait 10 plus minutes for any alcohol. Just to order alcohol a manager must check your id unless you're clearly of age. Very limited drink menu. Had to have them remake my milkshake and would have had them remake it again because it was pure liquid with no ice cream element to it at all. Ran out of there while contemplating to chuck my disgusting milkshake at the Applebee's sign to try and ward unaware Applebee's goers away. Avoid at all costs. Food came out hot, hence the one star.
(1)Daisy P.
I ate at this location a couple of times and the 7 oz steak always tastes funky. I never take more than one bite. The friendly girl at the bar always makes a killer Bahama Mama.
(2)Cherine A.
I wish I didn't have to write a bad review of this place, but it's gone so downhill. I used to hate Applebee's with a passion, until I discovered their cajun lime tilapia. Delicious AND healthy? Yes please! They made a fan out of me. But slowly the quality of this place started declining. There would be something wrong with the food (like the fish being unseasoned, or cold, or not quite done), or something missing from the order. On our last three visits, the service has been terrible. The last straw came the other day, when we went for lunch. It wasn't busy, yet we waited forever for our food (the soup and salad combos), while people who sat after us ended up leaving before us. And you can't tell me that it's hard to prepare soups and salads - the soup is ready to go, and let's face it, the salads are thrown together right before you get to the table. My salad ended up being a glorified coleslaw - I could count maybe ten pieces of lettuce. The rest of it was that purple cabbage "filler" those pre-packaged salad bags use. Regrettably, we won't be visiting this location again. I think we may have more luck with the Delray location... I hope so, anyway.
(2)Laura L.
My husband and I have come here a few times, and all the other times I have left content, But, tonight was just terrible. First the waitress gives us weird looks the entire time we are at the restaurant, making my husband believe she is giving him dirty looks. Then the food gets to our table, his steak wasn't well done as he asked it was instead medium rare. He sent it back and we thought problem solved. Not so fast! Two bites into my quesadilla burger and I find a very long piece of hair in my sandwich. I sent it back and let the waitress know I didn't want anything. While my husband is finishing his dinner another employee (could of been the manager but I'm not sure, she didn't say) at the restaurant comes to our table after about 10 minutes, to ask if I want something else. I said no thanks, she then asks again "not even a dessert?" Again I say no, she seemed to get upset that I wouldn't accept her offers, however my husband had an ice cream shooter which was good. Although I will probably not go back to the restaurant, I do have to say that on past visits their service has not been bad and their food has been good.
(3)Jen M.
I normally love going to applebee's but tonight was the worst service I ever had. The waiter was an awkward character and was not the one who brought us our food. He never came by to ask how was the food although i noticed the other two waitresses walking by many times attending to their customers. When he finally came around (after a good long wait), instead of asking if I would like a refill he just reached over my food and grabbed my cup. When it was noticeable that my friend and I were finished with our meal, she had to ask him for a to go container as he was bringing back my drink. Even though I had put all the dishes together stacked up at the end of the table I still had to wait and ask him for the check. The visit was not pleasant and the waiter acted strangely and rude. I will never go back to that applebees. Rick T is lucky I gave him a tip, because with that attitude and lack of service I almost left him nothing.
