All the talk about the views are dead on. Great open floor plan with waterside tables. Service was flawless and the facility was very clean. Prices we very reasonable and portions were excellent. I would rate the food a 3, but overall the restaurant gets a 4. I felt the recipes lacked some flavor. Everything was adequate, oysters were excellent.

Killer seared ahi tuna carpaccio salad. Followed by amazing key lime pie. Two great Mai Tais Right on water. Loved this place.

This place was awesome! Great atmosphere and food. The coconut shrimp was excellent, as was the stuffed shrimp meal. Will definitely go back!

Great breakfast. I had an omelet (the Fluffiest I've ever had) and hubby had the jalapeño hash. Service was good. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was we asked for rye bread and got white. I would eat here again.

This place was just okay. Service was spotty, started with a waitress who took our drink order, then a waiter brought our drinks out about 20 min later. He was very pleasant, but after taking or order, we waited nearly 40 min for our food. It was slow enough that some of the service staff were doing side work, so it really wasn't overly busy at the time. When we got our food, my husband mentioned to the waiter that his nachos were stone cold, but he didn't offer to replace them. Fortunately, the sandwich I ordered was huge, and easily fed both of us. Overall, not tragic, but I wouldn't go back.

Ate here food was ok, parents had shrimp and said it was good. Service sucked and servers were NOT friendly. Was expecting a nicer/kinder more laid back atmosphere. :(

Our 1st dinner off property and we were pleasantly surprised by this low-key, picnic table dining on the water. The calamari is not to be missed. It is not your standard style. Bananas peppers on top and sprinkled with a lime mayo - AWESOME!!!! I had the coconut crusted fish with a pineapple salsa. it was divine. Others had grouper and were not disappointed. The kids enjoyed feeding the fish on the pier while we waited for the food. All were happy. Great views for picture taking after dinner.

The stone crab claws are awesome, besides that it's pretty generic American food. Growing up in the Bahamas, I expected my jumbo claws to be big, but I would say they were small for what I am used to, but they were well prepared and fresh so that's why this place got 3 stars.

We were a party of four and had a fun dinner time experience. Our food was served hot from the kitchen and just the way we ordered it. My wife and I split a main entree of yellow snapper blackened along with side dishes. It was very good and we would go back. They have a variety of tables so you can get stuck at a picnic table

Best key lime pie on the island! Left our resort at Hawk Cay as a recommendation for the best on the island! Thank you!

Ignore the smell when you're in the parking lot (seriously, it smells like a busted sewer pipe) as once you get inside you will be treated to a cool atmosphere, delicious drinks, and a nice varied menu that offers something for everyone. And oh yes, no sewer smell! I went here for both lunch and dinner during my vacation in the keys and had an enjoyable meal both times. The only item I was "eh" about was the deep-fried key lime pie; I love deep fried foods and have had some pretty good deep fried key lime pie, but this one didn't do it for me. If you're in the Marathon area this place is worth a visit.

I'm not giving the Island Fish Company five stars in a fancy fine dining sort of way, but I can say without a doubt that it was the best meal we had while staying in Marathon when it came to food, service and view. The hostess was friendly and the waitress was attentive, able to answer all of my questions about the menu and the source of the seafood. We held off on getting conch fritters while in the Keys until we got here and they were pretty good. Subtle flavors of conch, onion and green pepper that melded nicely in a large flat fritter as opposed to the small round hushpuppy type we had seen elsewhere. A generous portion of six to a basket with cocktail sauce and a key lime mustard on the side. I got the fried clam platter and asked for black beans and rice instead of fries as everything in the Keys seems to come with fries and I couldn't take any more. Huge portion of sweet clams and a big bowl of the best black beans and rice I had on our whole trip (including an authentic mom and pop Cuban place in Miami!) as the beans were nice and smokey and the rice had just the right amount of veggies in them to accent but not dominate the flavor. I was also pleasantly surprised that there was no charge substitution for getting something other than fries. My wife got the fried oyster po' boy which again was a generous portion on a roll filled with lettuce, tomato, banana peppers and remoulade sauce, a big pile of chips, cole slaw and pickle. Can't say much about it as I didn't try it, but she was happy with it. The location is great with a nice view of the water and various different seating areas for you to choose from. You can sit at the bar or at a table under cover or out on the deck overlooking the marina or I think they have another bar closer to the beach as well. It was a clear night with the stars and moon out, which made a nice atmosphere for our meal. With plenty of choices over a wide range of cuisines from straight up seafood to steaks to Mexican to pasta, I could see us going back several times to try different things and to enjoy the pleasant setting with good service.

We fished on the party boat Marathon Lady and brought our freshly cleaned catch here for them to cook tonight. For $11.95 they cooked the fish ( I had it both blackened and pan fried) and I was able to select 2 sides and a salad. Hard to beat that price, especially because it was delicious! My wife had the steak special ($17.95 al a carte) and was very happy. Melissa was very attentive as our server and even brought more of their great bread without us having to ask. Check it out when you are in Marathon!

The stars are solely for the nice view. I can only speak for breakfast, which was way over priced and not very good. The bagels taste like they were frozen, and the pancakes are all pre cooked and they just throw a few bananas or whatever you order on top. The service was ok, but the mediocre food and outrageous prices ($6 for a thawed out bagel and cream cheese) are enough for me to tell you to keep driving to the next place.

Food here was good. Service was slow, but we were seated fast.

Great location, perfect view, good seafood, great atmosphere. It's nested off of the main highway and behind a shula's restaurant, but the location is what makes this place. You can also rent jet skis next door if your up for it. The fish tacos were good, the clams were small but good. I wouldn't call it a restaurant, more of a cool place to hang out before you leave the keys. The one negative was the bathroom. Since its an outdoor area, the restrooms seemed to be shared by a couple of other establishments. Sand all over from the beach goers.

We had a lunch on dec.20. All the dishes we ordered were super delicious. Mine was stuffed shrimp and I, as a Chinese, really love it. That's the best food I had in key west.

Great food and great service. We had a party of 10 and were seated promptly at 6pm. I ordered the Key West Shrimp spicy and it was spicy! Loved it

OK, stopped here for lunch, on a Friday, during a motorcycle rally going to Key West. We shared a really nice Chef's Salad. Lots of crab, chicken, shrimp, hard boiled eggs and it was way reasonable. We were waterside and really enjoyed lunch. Good place and the waitress was awesome. Stop in you will not be disappointed.

Service wasn't great but the food was poor quality--rice was dry, cauliflower & broccoli was over done and bland. Pineapple salsa covered bland fish; rubbery lobster; fried shrimp tasted freezer burned; conch fritters didn't taste like anything! We were disappointed after seeing 4 stars-- it's Not!

Great place!!! We stopped here for lunch on our way down to Key West. We are use to seafood since we live in Miami, but crave seafood when in The Keys. I had Panko Hogfish on flatbread and my husband had blackened shrimp in a wrap with mango-pineapple salsa both were delicious. What set our meal over the top to make me want to post a review, which I never have done before, was the appetizer cracked conch. IT WAS AMAZING!!! Extremely Tender and the key lime tartar sauce was perfect to compliment the conch. Needless to say our entire trip in Key West we could NOT find another restaurant that could even come close to the same. We ate our last night at The Conch Republic in KW and theirs was good but chewy!!! Island Fish's cracked conch was SO GOOD that on our way back home we stopped and picked up 3 orders to take home!! Lol. So worth it!!! Yum

Jamal was our server and he was great recommending things on the menu. We sat outside and had a great view of the water and sunset. The lobster egg roll appetizer was wonderful, we split it, it would of been too much for one person and a meal. I had 1/2 rack of ribs, mild bbq sauce and meat fell off the bones, my husband had grouper with mango, pineapple chutney, that was also great. They had a great dessert menu but nothing sugar free.

My friends and I were staying at the holiday inn accross the street and with our snorkel trip being cancelled we had wandered over here with some extra cash in our pockets. We all decided to each order an app and share. Everything was GREAT. Conch fritters were huge and you get alot for the price. With huge chunks of conch and a rich batter they did not disappoint. We also ordered the conch ceviche and smoked fish dip, both of which were equally excellent. The portions are defintely great for the price. Will definitely return if I find myself in Marathon again.

My family and I ate here for one dinner during our vacation in Duck Key. The food was sup-par to say the least. Everything was fried or cooked poorly. My dad ordered the seafood quesadilla and said that it was the worst thing he had ever eaten in his life (this says A LOT). My chicken sandwich had no taste. The only person who liked his meal was my brother, but he likes everything and no one else wanted to try it so who knows. The only thing that is saving this from 1 star is the seating area, pretty nice right on the beach. Service was slow and very unorganized. Its hard to find good places to eat in the keys but this is one to say away from unless desperate.

So I give it 3 stars bc of the environment. The tables by the water have a beautiful view esp at night. I ordered the oyster po boy and it was OK. Nothing special. The raw oysters were good but all raw oysters taste the same. I was disappointed by the french fries. They basically tasted like cardboard. Anyways, go for the raw bar drinks and atmosphere.

Nice bay view for the sunset. We were told we were getting fresh fish and seafood but it tasted like it was frozen. Tiny shrimp and scallops so skip the Seafood wrap. The Mahi sandwich was a good size but not as fresh as we've had at other places. Key lime colada was very tasty. Service was pretty slow and neglectful.

Outstanding, a stuffed Hogfish to die for, this is great island style food at a very fair price! We eat here every time we are in the Keys! Don't get a mixed drink here, $7 each and they havs a very stingy pour. Deep fried key lime pie is excellent.

    (4)
  • Michael S.

I had yellow tail and rice. It was a special for the day. For $25 bucks I expect a little more, during my time in the keys I had better yellow tail for a lot cheaper. We sat on the deck and received awesome service. Our waiter was attentive (despite the dinner rush) and very knowledgable. Awesome dock to take pictures in front of the sunset as well.

Great breakfast on the water on out return from Key West. The service from our waitress, who originally hailed from Germany was amazing as well. We even got to witness a manatee swim by.

This is my go-to seafood place when I ride down to the keys. It's a bit more commercialized than the smaller local places but hey, I'm having fun. One of the good things is that this restaurant stays opens later than most other places around. Remember, the keys are fun but food after 10 is hard to find. The kitchen closes at 10 here but they will let you know if you can still place an order and they won't kick you out mid-beer to close the place down. I'm giving 3 stars because the menu is great but it needs some updating. It would be nice if they changed things a bit every now and then. I also don't care for the "Mexican Sundays", I'm here for seafood not Mexican. At least throw in a seafood quesadilla! Great food, lots of draft beer, Lots of TV's, nice seating on the water and let's not forget the heliport! When I'm not on my bike, I'm flying my helicopter so I gotta have a heliport everywhere I go... ;-)

Tasty blackened mahi with lobster bisque. Apparently, we hit this place in the slow season and got a table right away. The server said the wait can be two hours during high season!

I ate here 3 times on our one week vacation to Marathon, so I guess you could say I am a fan. We had a large group traveling with us with children ranging in age from toddler to teen and this was just the outdoor, casual place with pretty good seafood that we were looking for (plus free entertainment provided by the grunts and snappers that the kids enjoyed feeding ...right next to us!!!) We were even visited by the Easter Bunny on Easter Sunday with a basket full of chocolate for the kids :-) The portions were large and the prices were reasonable. My son had the tuna tataki every single time and it was pretty tasty. I had the seafood quesadillas (they were ok but not great...needed more flavor) They had some decent mexican food there too on Mexican Monday with Corona and margarita specials. The next time I tried the mahi-mahi wrap which was yummy! My husband enjoyed their grouper sandwich also. The kids had the steamers which were devoured before we could try any so I will take that as a plus, and the conch fritters were pretty good too. We were always too full to try the fried key lime pie....but the next time I go I am ordering that first!!!

a m a z i n g. came for dinner around 9 on a sunday night with thee family. we started out with conch fritters and a pound of peel and eat shrimp. the shrimp were huge! and the conch fritters were loaded with conch. I ordered the dolphin caesar salad. the dolphin was SO delicious but last but not least the best thing i ordered was the KEY LIME COLADA! like frozen key lime pie in a cup :) ps. fun fact about this place is kenny chesney wrote " no shoes, no shirt, no problem" while sitting at the bar.

Came here as our quick lunch stop on the way down to Key West. Conch chowder. good flavor but waaaaay too salty. we put in crackers to help soak up the salt, and didn't eat the crackers afterwards, that seemed to help. Lobster sandwich. yummy. lobster salad type of insides, but just a light touch of mayo. awesome.

I'm in love with this place for both breakfast and dinner. Haven't been there for lunch... yet. Hearty portions, smiling servers, great food, and the desserts... OMG, out of this world. We've had the Cheesecake, No Bake Chocolate Cake and the Key Lime Pie. All three were great. We had to share between us since we were so stuffed from our dinners, but it was well worth it. Amazing sunset view too.

After reading numerous reviews (and with limited dining options on the island), we decided to try our luck at this place. It ended up being a bit disappointing. The food was OK. Nothing spectacular, nothing memorable, and we both left a bit on our plates. The atmosphere is nice - open air and on the water, but service was just OK, and it was definitely not somewhere we'd return.

This was a pleasant surprise. Driving home from the Keys, early Sunday we were thinking of a place to stop to eat breakfast. A few fast food places were mentioned, i said Nada, then out of the blue I passed this place that looked cool and had a sign that said Breakfast Served. I turned around and parked in the lot. I did have to wait for a spot, they were packed. it looked like a Tiki Place, with the grass hut styling. We were seated right away and what a nice view. The waitress was pleasant and took out order. It was a wait for the food, but they were very busy. I do have to say, everything was excellent. Large portions of food for the $ money. What a great place. I plan on coming back to Key West and this will be my stop coming and going. They do serve a full menu, Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and a bar. I may just stay and give dinner a try next time. Great place to stop, give it a try and you will say, " I like it , like it.

Stopped here for lunch, perfect spot on the water. Prices were good for lunch and lots of sandwich options. Have lots of beer and drink choices as well. Service was about as fast as you can get. We had our feed within 10 minutes of arrival. I would stop again, and probably try it for dinner as well.

The bar is busy and a great hang out. The restaurant has a great view but the seafood that we had was very very weak. My Wife had the Linguini with clams. The clams had zero taste and I had the fried oyster plate. It was fair. For a place that has seafood in it's name they actually should be given one star. Our guest had a steak which she enjoyed very much. We found the prices to be on the high side for what you get.

Very nice restaurant. We were driving home from Key West, and after stopping at a couple of tourist attractions, we were in the middle of Marathon at 1:30 pm, desperate for lunch. Not too many places we drove by seemed appetizing, then we came across this one. It's a fairly standard seafood restaurant/steakhouse/bar, but very well done. Food was damn good (all five of us ordered something different and enjoyed their selections), waterfront atmosphere was great, and there's a dock for walking onto for a great ocean view.

I have been to the Island Fish Company & Tiki Bar a few times over the years and can say I have never left disappointed. They have a sign out on US 1 that says "what you came to the Keys for". That sign sucks me in every time. I have to give them credit, it is truth in advertising. The last time I was there, I had a dozen oysters and some sort of a fish sandwich. Both dishes were excellent and the service was good too.

Nice atmosphere and helpful staff. I had the dogfish special. Fish smelled old and not fresh and was tasteless aside for the sauce it was smothered in. I felt the sauce was there to hide the old not fresh fish.

My family of 5 loved this place! It has something for everyone. The nachos are an obscene pleasure, which top off awesome toppings with a deep fried tortilla bowl. Angioplasty not included! The fish was great, including nice fish and imaginative preparations featuring fruits. The sea life keeps kids amused. Save room for key lime pie. Say hi to slash in the parking lot.

We stopped here while we were driving down to Key West. The blackened fish salad was very good and gigantic! Pretty view and a lot of waterfront tables. We all enjoyed the meal very much.

Was able to smoke on the patio first night we went...then they changed the rules to smoke at the bar, had the cajun chicken salad, chicken is fish battered and kind of soggy, but the salad was really good besides that, also order the california chicken sandwich very good, and the quesadilla was also delicious, they changed their order taking by using their phones the week we were there, thought the waiter was just being rude at first but the food came out a lot faster

Solid 3 stars. Think TGI Fridays, but with seafood and tourist prices. We have been here all of December and had breakfast and dinner on a few occasions. they had a reasonable breakfast menu, with eggs bacon toast and potatos for $7.50. Come Christmas week , they broke out the new menus with tourist pricing. Eggs and toast , no meat for $8.50. Items up to $16 for breakfast - had to walk out and went to a local joint instead. I agree with many other reviews - Service below par.

My wife and I stopped in for a quick snack when we arrived town. The food is average, but the service was exceptional. I mentioned we had our dogs in the car and the waitress gave us a plastic bowl full of water and ice. I had the oysters on the half shell and it was as expected. Great location, but parking can be a bear. This place also gets quite busy. Full bar and their alcohol pour was on the lighter side.

We discovered this gem driving back from Bahia Honda. Checked Urbanspoon and Yelp to our surprise that 92% of customers loved this place, rating it four and half stars out five, we wanted to experience for ourselves, glad we did! We enjoyed not only the food but the ambiance. Our server, Annette, was very pleasant, knowledgeable and welcoming. We had a great experience. The seafood was fresh and delicious. Will come back without thinking about it.

The smell is a bit overwhelming at first, and there is a bit of a wait, but the food is really nice. I recommend getting the conch fritters for appetizer for sure. I also got the grouper, which was tasty. My sister got the coconut fried shrimp, which I liked better. Key lime pie was decent, but the fried version is a bit too heavy esp since we ate so much already. Try to get a table with an outside view!

3 Stars for the atmosphere. Very chill, outdoors and on the water. 2 stars for the food. Not bad, not that great either. Overpriced. 1 star for the service. Go here for the bar, not the food.

My husband and I visited the Island Fish Co. & Tiki Bar while on a family vacation to Duck Key this week. We had the medium crab claws, conch soup, jumbo shrimp cocktail, oyster shooters (both fresh water and Gulf!) as our appetizers. I enjoyed the blackened snapper with rice and veggies, while husband enjoyed the stuffed shrimp. We couldn't even get through our entrees after the delicious appetizers and shooters - I think our eyes were bigger than our stomachs! We also enjoyed an assortment of cocktails and beers. We were so impressed with the quality and freshness of the food, we came back a second time and brought our two young children. The second time around, we ordered crab cakes, the conch ceviche, and our entrees were the large crab claws and pan fried grouper with chef's rice and vegetables. Our kids got their orders of kid food lickety split. Everything came out quickly, hot and fresh. Another fabulous experience. When we visit Duck Key again, we will definitely be back to the Island Fish Co. & Tiki Bar for more great experiences!

The menu has a lot of choices and some creative ones that I'd like to try given budget n time. Pasta n chicken was good and plentiful. Pasta diavlo was also good, although spicy sauce was a little sweeter than anticipated (not bad, just diff) The oyster rockefellow was sub par - cheese wasnt melted and oysters were over cooked. :( Overall its worth a try but doesnt knock your sox off.

Hmm what I love: the view of the ocean, one of the best views in the Keys. The servers have always been friendly and attentive. It is just has a laid back, relaxed vibe. There is outdoor seating and you can even drive up with your boat or wave runner. Now what I really love, the crab cakes, shrimp, lobster sandwich, conch fritters, key lime pie, catch of the day... The food is always finger licking good!

Peel and Eat shrimp were tasty. Conch fritters had a good amount of meat but wasn't tenderized long enough, therefore being a bit chewy. Great views!

This place has the best tuna nachos ever. They have a really good spicy tuna roll too. I have been here quite a few times and I always leave happy. I like to sit out on the little beach if its not too hot. You can pull up on a boat! The service is great. I recommend it.. highly :)

  • Peter N.

Decent food but a bit bland. Most restaurants down here really aren't great - the Keys are a giant tourist trap and the restaurants support that. Disappointed in general everywhere we went. This place was decent - soup was good, clams & linguine was nothing unique.

  • S. R.

My wife and I dined here on our way from key west. We werent looking for anything fancy, just a bite to eat. We ordered an appetizer, a bowl of lobster bisque and the Baked Oyster tray. The server looked at us like we were idiots for ordering such a small amount of food and said " Thats it". She then proceeded to refill my ginger ale with water, that is once she finally decided to refill it. The food was at least hot, although bland. Ok for a quick bite but that's about it.

  • Nina L.

My husband and I ordered the fried shrimp and was very pleased with it. It came with Cole slaw and I'm not a fan of it so I gave it to my husband. I got a Key lime pie--yum! My husband got the deep fried Key lime pie with cinnamon in the crust. It tasted fine but didn't have a very strong lime flavor. The setting was fun -- open air seating with no walls. It was a fun place to go and I would recommend it to others.

The Island seems to have lost a bit of the sparkle since the many times we've been here in the past. It's been a few years and the drinks seem to have atrophied, the food seems just as great, but got a little more expensive. This was our favorite place the other times we've visited the Keys, but we only came here once this time. As noted in a lot of other reviews, the view is a nice plus. I got conch chowder to start and it was acceptable, but I had better on this same trip. I also had Stone Crab, which because of the poor season is priced much higher than it has been in the past. Without letting that color my review, it was prepared nicely, precracked, and I liked the dressings that were included. My wife got coconut shrimp, a favorite of hers here and I had to steal a few bites - just as good as we remembered. Where we really fell short was the drinks. For $8/9, I expected something more than what tasted like rum and - not fruit juice or syrup - but Hawaiian Punch (yuk?) served in a plastic tumbler. I should have had the pina colada my wife had - at least it tasted like it should. We switched away from the fancy(?) beach cocktails to squeeze out a bit more value. We're not great complainers - especially when the wait person is attentive and pleasant so we didn't make a fuss about this. Had this been the first time I'd been here I'd seriously consider a 2 star but given the nostalgia factor and that I know the other times I've been here have been stellar I'll stick with three. Next time we go, I expect I can return to the standard 5 star The Island deserves.

My family really enjoyed this place when we were new to the area, but as we became familiar, we found other places that were much better. Their clientele is probably mostly one time visit tourists. The fish always seems watery and the flavor is always pretty bland. We come here far less often than we used to.

Not impressed at all! When we arrived the first parking area was full and we could not get to the back parking area because it was blocked by a Septic Waste removal truck. I had to park in a tow zone and then interrupt my dining experience to move my car into a proper spot. Not really the restaurants fault I guess but not a good start for what was ahead. Our waiter was very cold and uninviting. I was trying to order a beer and there choices were very limited. Bud Lite Lime, nope, okay then, how about an Amberbock, Don't have that either. My Wife ordered the Crab Cakes, and he came back to tell us they were all out. After the ordering was straightened out, We got our Appetizers and then the main course. The food was okay. My wife's plate was heavy on the pasta and extra lite on the seafood for a hefty price. Totally not worth it. I had the seafood Quesadillas which were okay. The next time we saw our waiter, it was for the bill. We were never asked if we needed refills or anything else for that matter. We will not be returning.

Our favorite restaurant in Marathon; a safe bet if you're not sure what you want. Good local fare (fish, prepared any/every way possible), but also good mainland options. Great kids meals and great atmosphere; recently remodeled (post-Wilma), one of the cleaner places around.

Stopped here 1st night and had a very delicious 'Pico de Milo' - Mahi on about the best beans and rice I'v had. Mahi very fresh and excellent too. Went back a week later - beans and rice still excellent, fish not quite as excellent. Fast service, excellent waitresses both visits.

The Island Fish Company is on the Bay side on Highway 1. The Hogfish Salad was one of the lunch specials-yum! The grilled fish was lightly breaded and served on greens, with goat cheese and pineapple. I requested a raspberry vinaigrette on the side. We sat outside next to the water where you are near the charter boat docks. We observed lots of fish in the water, and our wonderful waiter took the time to point out some of the lobsters hiding out in the rocks just below us. Most of the Keys restaurants have ever changing menus, depending on what fresh catch is available. My hubby had the fried grouper, I tried it but I think the best way to enjoy the wonderful fresh caught flavors is grilled, not fried.

I live in Miami but spend a lot of time at our summer place in the Keys, located in Marathon. There are many good and great restaurants in the keys, but when I'm down that way you can be sure to find me at The Island. It's located right off US1, bay side, on the Overseas Hwy, mile marker 54. Come by car or boat for breakfast, lunch or dinner. It's also a great place to see the beautiful sunsets the Keys have to offer. Call me a regular there. I've dined at least 25 to 30 times at The Island and the food has never let me down. I've tried almost everything on the menu; The Island's Seafood Tower, Fried Calamari, Conch Fritters, Grouper Sandwich, Chicken Caesar salad, Barbeque Shrimp, my favorite dish- the Macho Chicken Nachos, and off coarse their burgers. I ordered the Sirloin Beef Burger, which is char-grilled Angus beef with cheese, bacon and jalapenos. The burger was slightly under-cooked which is not bad because most places, when you order medium, cook it medium-well. The meat had a good flavor too. It was nothing special, but it's big and very well-presented. Instead of fries, I ordered tatter tots, which were phenomenally good to eat with the burger. I have to say, for a place that specializes in seafood the burger wasn't too bad. I would recommend it. For dessert I had the Key Lime Pie, which is always awesome. I would also recommend the Four Berry Pie. We sat with Marta, I believe. I wish all servers were like her; very friendly and attentive, always coming around asking if we needed anything, and she made sure our drinks were always filled to the top. I enjoy sitting at the bar sometimes but I try to avoid it, unfortunately the service is ok at best, and I'm being nice. I usually sit at the bar in the evening for a cold drink and the bartenders seem to be bothered when you ask them a simple question. They don't come around as often as they should. At one point I felt like jumping over the bar and getting the beer myself. For someone who's there as much as I am, it would be nice for someone to remember my face and name! In all, The Island is a great place to visit. Just lay back with a good cold drink, fresh seafood, and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Honestly, I can't wait to go back!

This place is right on the water. You can dock your boat in the back. Or arrive via helicopter. The heliport is in the parking lot. We started off with the conch fritters..very good. Next I had the Gulf Oysters. They were not that good but I wanted to try oysters from the gulf. Entree was the grilled mahi sandwich which was just okay. For dessert, we got the key lime pie. Very good and very sweet!

I don't eat fish but I still thought the food was really good, unlike your typical surf and turf spot. The chicken was lightly marinated and still very healthy. And they did not soak the garlic bread in butter. The best part is the view of the water, right when the sun is setting. Very beautiful and romantic.

There's no question about it: This place is a fun place to eat because of the atmosphere. We sat outside (late April) and enjoyed the perfect weather and the gorgeous sunset. But sadly, the pretty view and the tiki hut couldn't make up for the meh (not bad, just meh) food. We started off with the tuna tataki appetizer which was pretty good. Not mind bending, but solid. For dinner I got the mojo chicken with tater tots, which was kinda bland. My beau got the fried lobster sandwich and he said "it was a mistake." (I think the mistake was to fry the lobster in the first place. Their execution of fried lobster was fine.) For dessert, we asked the server how the key lime pie was, and she suggested we go for their deep-fried, cinnamon-crusted key-lime-pie. We ordered it, and it It tasted like cheesecake, with no discernible lime flavor at all. As a deep-fried cheesecake thing, it was tasty. As a key-lime pie thing, it failed. It also didn't help that we had to ask two different servers for place settings, and didn't get them until after we had finished our appetizer (which was thankfully served with chopsticks). Next time, I'll probably get an early dinner elsewhere, and will come back to this place to watch the sunset with a mai-tai. I feel badly giving this place a low ranking, but I was underwhelmed. Two stars seems cruel, but three stars seems generous. It's a solid 2.5.

Came here with my husband, son and his girlfriend while visiting the Keys. Nice view and good service. I had coconut shrimp and my husband had dolphin. My son had a wonderful garlicky shrimp dish and his girlfriend had clams. All of the main dishes were great. My husband, son and I had lobster bisque which wasn't all that great but girlfriend had a she-crab soup which was excellent.

Good place, large, open and airy. Picnic table seating mostly outside. Definitely a tourist type of restaurant with all the same fare you'd expect on the menu. Service was efficient but our waitress lacked any personality ( was simply going through the motions). Good was prompt and tasty but nothing to write home about. Good spot for decent food, people watching, and a nice atmosphere.

Island Fish House was recommended to us by some local folks, and it was a great choice. The first night we ate there I just had a burger; it was their Angus Beef burger but it was tasty. I followed it up with their fried Key Lime pie - outstanding! My wife had the fried grouper basket and hasn't stopped talking about it yet! We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express across the street, and the morning we left we had breakfast there before leaving. Again, just excellent. I had the sausage biscuits & gravy and it hit the spot. My wife had the shrimp & grits and it was also just excellent. The ambiance was great, being right on the water in a quite area and the waiters were friendly as well. Can't say enough about the place to be honest.

Great ocean view, but other than that, not so great. Food and service was :/ Service: not great, server was not very helpful, had to get our own plates after waited more than 15 mins... Food: Gulf oysters on half shell - local oysters according to our server, not much flavors to it besides its meatiness, questionable on freshness? If you are from Cali, don't order this, you will be disappointed! Conch fritters - biggest disappointment ever! On the menu it says "load of conch" NOT!?! It tasted much like potato croquettes with lots of batter and barely if any conch at all. Mango tango - too sweet, filled with syrup! You might be better off with a beer. Price: typical American seafood restaurant, $10-30 an entree depending on what you order Parking: plenty in a lot Won't be coming back...

Great outdoor seating and spot for the sunset! The service was AMAZING. Our waitress (sorry forgot her name!) was incredibly friendly. She was super busy, running back and forth between tables, but still remembered to bring our waters, check in with us, refill our drinks. Food was typical of a great view type restaurant. I read in a book once that you either pay for the view or the food - both both :) this place has average food and great everything else. We got the beer steamed shrimp, broiled snapper, and blackened hogfish. Drinks were strong and better than the drinks at Sunset Grill. Would recommend for visitors.

Good customer service but food is below average. The restaurant has an excellent location by the water to enjoy the beautiful sunset in the keys, however the food was not good. For starters, we ordered oyster and conch ceviche. Oysters were good but the conch ceviche was awful. It was a few tiny pieces of conch swimming in a pool of chopped tomatoes. There was no seasoning or meat in this dish. Very dissapointing. So we thought that maybe the main dishes will save the night so after ordering a bottle of pinot grigio we decided to order from the today's specials menu. We decided for the seafood linguini with Cajun cream sauce but after finding out that they have a fresh tomato sauce we asked to have it. To our surprise the "fresh tomato sauce" is just the same chopped tomatoes we had in the conch "ceviche" so you can imagine that it was not good. Pasta was bland and sauce was awful. Do not get anything with a "fresh tomato" sauce I am surprised that this place has good ratings on Yelp maybe it was a bad night for the kitchen but unfortunately it ruin our first night in the keys. Thanks to the sunset and the wine we got happy again after this experience and continued our vacation.

Boy, was it hot when we came here for lunch. We sat outside (only option) in the middle of summer, so it was over 100 degrees and humid. The food made it worth it, but after about an hour, we had to run off. I don't know how the waitstaff does it! Anyway, we loved everything we ate. The fried shrimp was super fresh and sweet, some of the best I've had. My partner ordered the stuffed shrimp, and I was a bit jealous. For dessert, we got the fried key lime pie. It was nice, but quite sweet. Wow, couldn't eat more than a few bites. Service was just lovely and the views are great. A perfect stop on the ride down to Key West!

  • Antonio R.

Needing a quick bite on our way to Key West, we stopped here. Parking can be an issue on busy days. We were lucky to find a spot, but it does indeed get cramped. The service is relatively fast, from getting a table to bringing the food. The food itself is Really Pricey. Appetizers are $12 and up. The food itself is presented nicely, but I don't think the quality matches the price it asks for. My Fried Dolphin Wrap was a little watery, making me suspicious of how it was prepared, but this isn't to say the food is bad. In fact, the food is a lot more than edible. You will get a lot of accompanying sauces with your order. The Tarter Sauce was Two Thumbs up. The Restaurant and Tiki Bar manages to stay cool during the Hottest of South Florida Summers, but my table was a little wobbly. Can't say that for every table though. I enjoyed my meal here and might think of coming back here when I head North Again.

This is one place we always stop at on our way down to Key West, even if we have to wait until 3pm to have lunch!! The gulf oysters are meaty and delicious. We have learned to order more than one dozen and at $12 a pop... It's definitely the most affordable way to enjoy fresh raw oysters! The view is beautiful!! We will certainly be back!!

Excellent restaurant. The service, food, and atmosphere were all five stars. I hade the prime rib which was one of the specials of the day and a Key Lime Pie for desert a long with a lobster bisque (soup) that were delicious. The service was beyond amazing from the moment we walked in till we left. The waitress check on us several of times to make sure if we needed anything. The lobster bisque was full of tasty flavors and had a great amount of lobster in it which I did not expect to see. I could not believe my eyes when they brought out the prime rib steak since it was so gigantic. I was astound by the soft and juice prime rib and was impressed with the seasoning it had which made it taste that much better. Finally, the key lime pie was to die for. Really. The pie literally melted in my mouth. My family and I are from San Francisco CA and just happen to find this gem while on the way back from the Keys. I will definitely be coming back to this what should be five star restaurant. I hope that this review helped in making your decision a bit easier to try it out. You won't be disappointed..

Excellent location, beautiful restaurant. Well maintained, great service (thanks jeff). 8 of us went to eat there at 10:30pm the day before a wedding and we all enjoyed the place. Food is fresh and portions are big. Prices are ok. Fresh seafood, view of the marina, great service, big menu. Definitely recommend it.

This was our 3rd time at The Island Fish Company. Last year food was great, this trip was a disappointment. Clam strips probably would have been better if they came out of a box, the shrimp basket was not good at all and some of the shrimp in the shrimp tacos were so hard they were inedible. View and atmosphere are great, but I would pass on the food.

I liked this place a lot. Parking was easy, we sat right down next to the water, service was efficient, friendly, and let us talk. I had the Gulf Oysters and Coconut Shrimp. The ouysters were a bit small but tasty. I really liked their hot sauce. My shrimp was fantastic We sat in view of the waitress station wich made for a great view; great looking friendly crew..much better than the gulls.on the pier I topped it off with key lime pie which was delicious. On my way down from Virginia, I hoped I'd find a great place. Found it!

I ordered a Key Lime Pie-To-Go due to the overwhelming great reviews on Yelp on the Key Lime Pie. I had to buy the full pie, because buying 3 individuals was the same price and I'm so glad I did. The pie was delicious. It was the right amount of tart and sweet. The family enjoyed it. We will be going back to try out the rest of the menu.

It's more like a 3.5 but I can't do the fourth star. I'm obsessed with the she krab soup. To the point I crave it when I am home. It is always like a warm hug in a bowl, the veggies are tender and the chunks of fake crab are soft and delish. We have been coming for years. The drinks are on point, the deserts are good, and the appetizers (especially the shrimp) are awesome. The actual entrees leave a lot to be desired. Most recently today we had pan seared grouper and a coconut yellowtail. Bland, like nursing home food. The veggies are lackluster and the rice is dry and boring. Even smothered in cocktail sauce that grouper was sad. They were cooked well, just tasted awful. Also, the hostesses have zero personality and look like they would rather be ANYWHERE else. No smiles, shuffling around, tossing menus on the table. And why are there FIVE? Maybe use those hostesses as waitresses. They seemed harried and understaffed. Our waitress was Chelsea. She was super nice but seemed stressed or overwhelmed. That really wasn't her fault as the place was packed and the amount of servers was about equal to miserable hostesses (who kept sneaking off to eat, I see you girl in the teal maxi skirt...) Anyway Chelsea handled herself really well. She had a large party and accidentally dropped a beer which got on one of the diners (who thankfully was really cool about it) and she didn't flinch and handled it super well. She also offered to take the horrible grouper off the check without hesitation. We didn't ask, and I wouldn't expect that as it wasn't cooked wrong, just tasted awful. I'll be back for that soup and a rum punch, because really, that soup is AMAZING

Was looking for a place to get lunch before kayaking in the Atlantic. Always looking to find a new spot to try. Very happy we decided to stop here and have lunch. We were seated along the water in very comfortable picnic style tables. (I want one for my house!!). The service was awesome and the food was even awesomer. (not sure if that is a word...just go with it!) We shared the crab cakes appetizer and the fried shrimp dinner. OMG. I don't know how many times I said how perfectly the shrimp was cooked. It was the best fried shrimp I have ever had honestly, and I love my seafood. And the crab cakes....don't get me started. WOW!! 100% tasty crab meat. I love trying new places, but after stopping here, I'm not sure I want to eat anywhere else when I am in the keys.

We have had breakfast here twice during our last two trips and dinner once. Breakfast is great, dinner is mediocre at best. Servers have all been wonderful and you can't beat the outdoor seating. The fish you can see if you sit near the water are amazing. We saw so many beautiful & colorful fish. My daughter loves this place. We will probably come back for breakfast every time we are in town but never again for dinner. It wasn't terrible, but overpriced and under seasoned. Bland, undercooked and uninspired sides with a poorly cooked fish was what I had, so very disappointed after the delicious breakfast.

Do not. Under any circumstances. Order the deep fried key lime pie. It's a death trap. A suicide wrap. Better to skip out on it than die while you're young. Other than that. Fine food. Service leaves something to be desired. Next time, I'll just stick with Keys Fisheries

Great service but the food was just okay. The stuffed shrimp was overloaded with crab but a bit dry. My son gave a strong thumbs up to the conch chowder so that was a winner. The fried and blackened mahi salad with blackberries was a bit of an odd combo- not sure it was for me. Easy to dock there if you are boating and it had a nice casual vibe. Not the best seafood I've had in Marathon but not the worst...worth another try.

Great dockage with plenty of space for maneuvering. Server was professional and quick. We had the she crab soup and calamari for starters. House margaritas were way better than house drinks should be. We had the stuffed shrimp, stuffed hogfish and the snapper special, all were fantastic. If we lived closer, we'd come back regularly. Oh, and the key lime pie was perfect.

We liked this place so much we visited twice - for dinner and for breakfast. The view is great and the food is nice too. The standout for me was the lobster and grits special that they offered at breakfast. Best grits I've had since Emeril's in New Orleans. Yes, THAT good. Super friendly service too. I highly recommend this place.

Make sure you let the host know if you want Smoking or No Smoking. I thought all restaurants in Florida had banned smoking but this place still allows smoking in the bar. They need to train there host staff to ask this question, especially being a tourist destination. Other than the host staff the service was average. They let the drinks run empty too often but was very attentive to the food orders. In the Florida Keys there are seafood restaurants everywhere. It's a must that you have SUPERB tasting seafood. The food at Island Fish Company was average. Our group ordered Smoked Fish Dip & Linguini and Clam sauce to start! That was by far the best part of the meal. If it wasn't for the fish dip this review would only have one star. The fish dip was made fresh in house from the daily caught mahi. It had a nice smoke flavor that wasn't over powering with a little spicy kick at the end, very tasty. For our meal we had Oyster's Rockefeller which had a very heavy spinach taste, a Blackened Grouper Sandwich which was cooked well but was not Blackened enough as it had little flavor, and finally an order of Mahi Francese which tasted the same as what I make at home. When I go out to eat I want to have something that I can't make at home. There are some better places for seafood in Marathon. The most exciting part of this meal was watching a helicopter come in to land at their helipad. Yeah, you heard me right, a restaurant with a helipad.

Buffalo shrimp was amazing, so this started out pretty good. Lobster egg rolls were also tasty. It started to go down hill on the French dip, very bland soggy bottom bread, ajus was not seasoned meat rubbery. Service was good, atmosphere good with a water view picture perfect.

Ducked in to eyeball the place and try the fare. Located on a lttle slice of land next to US1 with an Iguana caged up in the parking lot. We didn't eat. We had a road pop and used the facilities before we continued on our merry way to parts South. Nice decor. Efficient and professional bartendress. Nice view of the soup. I will be back to try the (typical) Keys fare of which I am so, so fond! Cabeza OUT!

This restaurant was fantastic. The location is spectacular, nothing exquisite about the food but everything we ordered was very yummy! I had the Diane spicy shrimp pasta and it was delicious. Service was great too, especially for our large party of 12. I would go again without a doubt.

Best dinner of all on our vacation. Our server Carey was EXCELLENT! Friendly, attentive and knowlegeable. We had the Seafood Tower, and it Rocked! I would highly recommend it. My husband and I had that for dinner with a salad, and we even took 5 shrimp home. Great Blooody Mary with homemade, picked asparagus spears, a must have with the Tower. I think we will go back again on Friday night! I use Yelp all the time, especially when we are far from home, and this is the first review I have ever written...it was that good!

Ate lunch here 2 days out of 4 so that has to say something! The first day we got seated right next to the waterfront which had an amazing view, super service and no wait at all. We had the stone crab and fish stuffed with crab. Both were amazing. The second lunch was muhhha. Long wait, service was poor...long wait for waitress, service ware, water. Lunch was ok..had the clam chowder and conch fritters. Couldn't get out of there fast enough on the second lunch.

I never realized that hundreds of people can be served so confidently. My wife had the fish tacos, our friends ordered a steak and taco meal as well. I had the linguine with clam sauce. The service was timely, friendly, and extremely well done. The food was good, not great but all in all was a value. One suggestion I have for you is to make sure you get here really early or you better be ready for a wait. The view is exceptional and the prices are reasonable. The portions are quite adequate. We will return here again

This was such a great find! We only stopped here because it was literally across the street from our hotel (Holiday Inn Marathon) and we wanted to be able to drink and not drive. We were really happy with the result! We arrived fairly early and snagged seats by the water. Our service was great and the food came quickly and the drinks came STRONG. We ordered the Baked Oyster combo which came with 2 oysters in 3 different flavors. These were great, but our favorites were the conch fritters. These were the 2nd best fritters we had on our trip. They were just very well prepared with a lot of conch and not completely just dried out, overcooked dough. This place was a great surprise find on our trip. Courtney's Official Conch Fritter Rankings: 1. Alabama Jack's - Key Largo 2. Island Fish Co - Marathon 3. Key West Original Conch Fritters Stand - Mallory Square, Key West 4. Half Shell Raw Bar - Key West 5. Atlantis/Beach Bunnies - Fort Lauderdale Overall Marathon was a great key to spend the night in. We were worried that we would be a bit bored, but it was a lot of fun. We stopped at: Turtle Hospital Went for a run on 7 Mile Bridge to Pigeon Key Key Fisheries Market for the Lobster Reuben Stayed at the Holiday Inn Marathon (small pool, but brand new and great rooms.. plus it has a restaurant there and is literally RIGHT across the street from here, Island Fish Co).

We were waited on by Susan and she was terrific. My wife and I ordered the buffalo shrimp appetizer and then both ordered from the specials menu. The app was great - the breading on the shrimp stayed crisp despite the sauce - and were happy with our meals. Mine came with cole slaw on the sandwich, which I hadn't noticed, and Susan didn't hesitate to swap it out for a new sandwich. Not one with just the slaw scraped off - a brand new sandwich. She knew the beer menu well and made good recommendations. I would definitely go back!

Spent the day in Marathon with the family & was recommended this place for lunch. The weather was very cooperative & added to the nice setting right on the water. The menu looked good & we tried a lot of it. Cold water oysters, fried oysters, broiled hogfish & coconut fried shrimp, all good! The drinks were also great & weren't watered down. A few mistakes on the order, quickly corrected, kept it to 4 stars.

Food was great. Went here twice during our trip. First time, the service was bad. Rushed and rude. The second time was the complete opposite. Our waitress was wonderful. Both times, the food was very good. Would recommend the Pico de Gallo fish on a bed of rice and beans. The lobster bisque was also very good. Saw a few pasta bowls pass by that were enviable. Overall, atmosphere and food get a solid 3.5/4 stars.

Excellent. It's very hard to find a good place to eat here in the keys when you are not a local but I loved this restaurant. The service was very good and the food came out quick. We liked our waitress very much as well. The location is super nice and had an amazing view. I ordered their New York strip and it was phenomenal. The dolphin sandwich and macho king nachos were also very yummy. My absolute favorite was the coconut shrimp and calamari. OMG!! So freaking delicious. For desert, we ordered the fried key lime pie an I was left wanting more. I will definitely visit again.

Great place to get something to eat! Good food, fun atmosphere, and a lovely view. The restaurant sits on the water and is basically a huge tiki hut. It's really a great experience. The food is pretty good and the drinks are so cheap! Great gem to find!

We had a girls outing (getaway from men and children) and stopped here for a bite. We were seated quickly able to look out on the water yet not be in the sun. We started with the conch ceviche which was wonderful. I make my ceviche at home with shrimp and scallops so conch was new for me. The ingredients were fresh, really excellent flavor. I had a dolphin wrap and it was also very tasty. Also recommend the mojito, very refreshing on a hot day. Overall, pleasant casual environment with great views and great food.

Loved this place. Key lime coladas were delicious and the view of the ocean was the best we found from a restaurant in Marathon.

After a busy day at the beach we decided to stop for a late lunch with the kids. Some of the meals included the coconut encrusted snapper salad, fish tacos, blackened grouper sandwich and fried hogfish sandwich. They were all delicious! Service was great. There were 10 of us and the food came out very quickly. Must try the deep fried key lime pie. We will be back for sure!

Oysters were so good we ordered 3 dozen!! Hogfish special was great & linguine & clams was maybe the best & freshest I ever had.

Great Restaurant! I enjoyed the atmosphere food and service. We ate outside at sunset and it was beautiful. We were seated next to the pier and they had some big parrot fish right next to the shore. The waiter was so nice and he had a great knowledge od the rather large menu. Not the cheapest place, but the food was great and you can get a sandwich on the menu for around $10. I would definitely eat there again. We went during spring break and we still didn't have to wait for a table and the food came out quickly. It was great I had the grouper sandwich and it was yummy! My husband had the key west stuffed and my son had the seafood pasta and they both enjoyed their meals.

Awesome place! Great view and the food was fresh. I had the shrimp tacos. They were very good, just a little more acidity than I would prefer. But still great. The service was wonderful and they just have such a great atmosphere.

This is our normal spot we stop at on our way to our from key west. The food is average but solid good food. It's American, seafood and Mexican. Conch fritters are fantastic. Beer is cheap.

Total Tourist trap (as we were told by a local too late) for lunch and dinner - breakfast okay. They rush you in and out, and the food is just okay. Conch fritters -- way more bread than conch. Sitting at picnic tables not very comfortable.

EASILY the best place my family and I ate on our Duck Key excursion this past weekend! Everything here was fantastic -- came here for breakfast one day, and dinner the night before. Staff was great sat us right by the boats and dock for a great feel. I had the fish tacos, absolutely fantastic... The ONLY negative that gives it a 4/5 is the stench. It's pretty bad. I was told it's the "low tide" methane, but we went a few times, and it's just overbearingly bad. But once you get inside, you're good! Definitely hit this place up if you're near!

Awesome view from the restaurant! Our waiter was very helpful and patient with all of our questions deciding what to get. We got the stone crab, crab cakes, and oysters.... Everything was amazing. Had some tasty Margs and ended everything with some key lime pie. Great experience!

Had a lot of fun and all the food was excellent! I started with oysters and than the chef salad. The oysters were big and fresh. The chef salad was not a traditional salad. It had crab meat, shrimp, and chicken. I really enjoyed it and would have both again. I was with a group of 6 and everyone enjoyed their food.

Conch ceviche to start - excellent! Really pretty chips, too pink, purple and beer is just $5.25 for 24 oz. After the craziness of Miami Beach, this was a nice respite. A couple of us had the "Grouper Rachel" sandwich, which was fried fish on a bun with some garnishing that tasted like coleslaw, but the combination really worked. A bit messy but delicious. My daughter had the yellowtail salad special - a humungous bowl of greens and a large piece of fish. She loved it. And Key Lime Pie - of course. Just the right size and tartness perfectly balanced.

Great food! Friendly staff! Cute atmosphere. Fast service especially considering our group was about 20 people. There is a little pier off of the dining area. You can walk out to see and feed lots of beautiful fish!!! Fun for kids!

We stopped here for lunch on the way from Islamorada to Key West. A French or Québécois family tried to push their way past us to the hostess station to get seated ahead of us. There were 3 hostesses who had good control of the situation and told them that we were there first, so we would be seated first. The hostesses stuck by their guns, even though they got a long loud complaint in French. Our table was located close to the water, and there was a beautiful view. I imagine that the sunsets there are spectacular on clear days. The server came to our table promptly and asked if we had any questions about the menu. She then took our drink orders and our appetizer order. She quickly returned with our drinks and took our lunch order. Our appetizers included cracked conch and grilled shrimp, all of which were excellently prepared. The salads came shortly after that. The ingredients were fresh, and the dressing was very good. My lunch was a grilled mahi-mahi sandwich, which was cooked very well-not in the least bit overdone, which is a common problem. The French Fries were good, but not spectacular. All in all, we got an excellent value for our meal. The server was very friendly and attentive. The only problem with this restaurant is the lack of parking when the restaurant is busy. We plan to come back.

In an effort to escape Hawks Cay Resort for a night, Yelp helped us find The Island Fish Company, which was just a few minutes down the road. We had noted that is was on the western side of the key, and on the water. But due to some low clouds, we never did see the sunset. (You win some, you lose some.) It's a nice setting though; a huge place with an equally huge "Tiki style" roof and a festive, island atmosphere. (It's funny how much Hawaiian styling has invaded the Keys in recent years). The immense two-sided bar with speedy, friendly service made me especially happy. We hung out here short time while we waited for a table. Margarita on the rocks - Good, if just a tad too sweet "Pain in the A#%$" - Half Pina Colada and half Rum Runner; I have no idea why I ordered it, but it was extremely nasty; I returned it and switched to beer; the bar staff took it in stride (Thanks for that btw) We were eventually seated for dinner at a booth, but not on the water (reservations recommended, if that is your desire). Service was still excellent and speedy, even though our waitress was working a LOT of tables. After ordering, our food came out quickly. -- Conch fritters: I always have to get these when I'm in the Keys; this version was a little too greasy, but tasted good -- Caribbean special: Pan roasted grouper w mango salsa over rice and beans; Simply outstanding -- Stuffed monkfish: Mom-in-law's order; She said it was "divine"; After my grouper it tasted a little bland. With a little room to spare, we ordered the flourless chocolate cake to share. Even though I'm a big chocolate fan (especially when flourless) I though it was kinda gross; more like dense pudding; and not even good pudding. Two of our party liked it well enough, and almost polished it off. Still, I'd eat here again when in the Keys. It's not all perfection, but the atmosphere and service put it ahead a lot of other places.

  • Veronica G.

Conch fritters there are great, plenty conch per serving. Had the blackened dolphin sandwich & my friends had grouper sandwich, we all devoured it. The food was well prepared, seasoned! Would def stop by on the next trip.

Whenever we visit Key Colony Beach, The Island Fish Company is the go-to place for dinner. It's great to sit outside with a view of the gulf and watch the spectacular sunset while sipping a drink with a little paper umbrella. Being a Northerner by birth and breeding, I'm used to fresh fish of the cold-water type. But here in Florida, if you want fresh local, you're pretty limited to Grouper, yellow tail, dorado, etc. Not a great choice, as far as I'm concerned. But, hey, don't knock the local stuff; a good beer will wash down almost anything. On leaving the other night, we spied a sign that advertised breakfast. Who knew? So we figured we'd give it a try the next morning. Wow! What a great breakfast! I had an omelet and my podner ordered the blueberry pancakes. The omelet was too big to finish and the blueberry pancakes were, without question, superior to anything that I've had outside my own kitchen. Fabulous. And our waiter kindly heated up the syrup for us (extra tip for him!) So, go for the fish in the evening and stay for the breakfast in the morning! Maybe they'll let you sleep on a table overnight so you'll be there when they open...

The Island is an awesome place! Went twice during our stay and enjoyed both visits. First time had hogging Tacos and loved them. Second time California Chicken Sandwich. That hit t he spot after 5 days of straight fish. Betsy was a great waitress. I would recommend a stop here for lunch or dinner

Stumbled on into "The Island Fish Company & Tiki Bar" during a recent weekender to Hawks Cay an island or two North on Duck Key and were pleasantly surprised. We were greeted by the friendly valet staff, and ushered on inside of this Gulf of Mexico abutting eatery. Like most places down the keys, the vibe was very relaxed, inviting and very much "come as you are." If you get a chance to, remember to request a table on the deck over by the water. You can catch some pretty sweet vistas over there. Also, our server was fantastic. For the food, this was a conch-tastic voyage. Just get anything conch from this joint. Beyond the conch, also try the mango crab cakes, and key west pink gold grilled shrimp tacos. The prices are slightly above average and are justified by the location and potential for a table with a great view. Here is a video that they produced which pretty much sums up the experience: youtube.com/watch?v=Bgg1…

I was so hungry on the way to Key West and my first choice was the seafood buffet at Whale Harbor but it was closed due to smoke contamination. So decided to keep driving on Overseas highway and found Island Fish Company... so happy I took a chance. Lovely location by the marina, had its own dock and even a helipad. They were featuring Mexican Sunday specials but I ordered the Grouper Sandwich blackened style and some margaritas. It was a serious sandwich. I love that the Grouper portion was bigger than the Kaiser bun. It was fresh and cooked just right. (See pics) The meal came with fries, slaw and gorgeous view of the marina. The margarita specials were good too..made with your choice of premium tequila. I can only give 4 stars for now cause I sat at the bar and have not experienced full dining service but will definitely come back again :)

The food was good and the service too. The lobster was sweet and tender but I'd skip the steak. Lobster bisque was good and you get large portions. The view is really nice unless they let the shades down on you just as you're enjoying it.... Bad move.

  • U M.

The tuna appetizer was delicious and a generous portion. The seafood pasta was excellent and fresh with a nice amount of lobster but the dish needed more shrimp and mussels than pasta. The key lime pie is a must have. Thank you for providing such attentive, friendly service, Courtney. We definitely will return. (Giving 4 stars because everything seemed slightly overpriced but we did enjoy the food and service)

My girlfriend and I stopped for their breakfast. We sat on the dock and had a wonderful meal while watching the parrot fish and manatee swim by. The staff was very friendly, tenitive and accommodating. I will definitely go back and try out the dinner menu . The view of the sunset from there must be amazing.

The atmosphere is nice, very good view of the water, ample fans to keep the customers cool, good volume on the music. The menu is pretty large, maybe a little too large, but the options all look good. Had the Bushwacker to drink. It was pretty middle of the road. Not bad, but not good enough to finish the last half. Got a cup of the soup of the day (lobster bisque). It had a nice mix of sweetness and a warm spice that heats the throat slightly. The lobster sandwich was nicely presented, colorful, and tasted good; but I'm not sure I would order it again. The coconut crust on it was a little too sweet for my preference . It wasn't bad by any accounts. Honestly for the person who is looking for that taste profile, it would probably be awesome. It just didn't work for me. The coslaw was good, and the fries came out hot and crisp. The fried key lime pie was a definite winner; tasting like a beautiful mix of key lime pie and churro. The berry pie filling was tart and sweet. Very tasty. The crust was a little under done though. All the food was plated well and looked visually pleasing. Service was mid-standard. He got our order, brought our food, checked on us, and presented us with the bill. Nothing really outstanding or memorable, but not bad either. Bathrooms were very clean and well tended. I feel the need to add this because there are 'ew bathrooms', then there are 'bathrooms', then there are, 'my stars this bathroom is really nice is the queen coming to visit?!' bathrooms. This one was the last. There was a candle burning, lotion, even mouthwash in an attractive bottle (this is for the woman's bathroom, I can't speak for the men's bathroom) Over all three stars for 'A-OK'. Go ahead and give it a try. The atmosphere and the deep fried key lime pie are probably the shining stars for my experience.

What can I say about this? Well, the food is not at all great!! I can make better Seafood than this. The prices way too expensive for the quality of the food. Theres no music nor any type of entertainment!!! Service is ugh... I just dont recommend it to anbody!!!

The restaurant is in a perfect location. Great gulf view. Our waiter was friendly. Unfortunately the fish was overcooked and the wine list is terrible. The seared tuna was fine, but it should not be served with sweet soy glaze. This place could have been awesome, but it was not.

Neat place with great views for the sunset. Huge menu with things for everyone including lots of fresh seafood. We tried the hog fish and yellowtail snapper, And we're both very happy with the main fish dish. The sides were just okay nothing exciting. Good clams and decent oysters. Good service, but the prices are pretty high for what you really get

Between MM 53-54, across from a holiday inn. Of course you must sit outside next to the water as the sun is setting. We were 2 so we got seated right away. We ordered: the fish dip with crackers and celery, grilled hogfish with extra veggies, soup of the day, and a grouper sandwich. No drinks or dessert. Service was ok. They have plenty of tables, really nice inside and out. If you look closely you'll see lobsters in the water. Not very smart hanging out right next to a restaurant, lol. I asked for no rice n extra veggies w my fish. They brought the rice anyway. They never asked if we wanted more to drink or if everything was ok. Oh well. Total bill $59.

Arrived late after a long day of travel! The place has a great feel! Outdoors on the water! We plan to go back for breakfast since we enjoyed it so much! Our waiter was super sweet! My boyfriend had the fried oyster po boy sandwich and loved it! My two year old had yummy chicken fingers and loved it . I had a salad and it hit the spot. Key lime pie was awesome!

We stopped here after doing a snorkel trip and I've gotta say... it was the best seafood I've had in a long time. Their shrimp scampi was to die for, seriously. Conch fritters are a fantastic choice for an appetizer and the food comes out fast and fresh. Absolutely excellent. 10/10. 5 stars. WOW

Stopped there for lunch because my gluten free app gave them good reviews. I was not disappointed! Our waitress had celiac disease too so she knew exactly what I could safely eat. The jalapeno corned beef hash and hash browns were very good and not at all greasy. Nice seating - covered but open to outside. If I head back that way, I will definitely stop in again!

Great food, but lousy service. This is a really nice place with very good food. If it wasn't for that, I would have given it two stars. We went here for dinner. I had the house Grouper dish which was excellent. Our server was just in a constant hurry. She had no attention to detail and just wanted to get us done and out of there. I asked her a question about their oysters which she never asked and then lied when I asked her about it. She took my fork away with the salad dish. I went outside to see the sunset and came back to see my entree was delivered but it was my wife's entree and no fork. I had to grab a busboy to get a fork. As I was unwrapping the utensils she came by looked at it and didn't even notice what I was doing. My daughter asked for a water. When she delivered it she disappeared so fast, I couldn't ask her for a refill. Once I was able to track her down she kept pushing us to finish and brought the check without even asking if we were done. I felt rushed and as if she just wanted us done and out of there. It was a shame too, as we were really having a good time. She really ruined it.

Always had really good food and really good service! Whenever we're on Marathon we always come! Best onion rings I've ever had, and the quesadilla is amazing. they're extra good because they don't make their food overly salty or overly oily. And they even have stuff for vegetarians! Highly recommend!

Our first vacation to Miami was becoming slightly disappointing with the service of the restaurants we attended the first couple days. It took us a 4 hour trip to the keys to find great service on top of delicious food! The cocktails also rock. What else does a person need? :)

  • Kat O.

I ordered fished tacos. It was alright comparing to San Jose, CA. I wasn't that full with the 2 tacos and fish portion was very little. Price is high. Service was good. The restaurant was very hot and humid even though it was 8:30pm. No AC. Fan was weak and not enough fan in the restaurant.

Overpriced tourist trap! The service was subpar and the food was average. The pricing was ridiculously high. Would not recommend and will not return.

Immediately fell in love with view...deck overlooking the ocean...spectacular! My wife and I both had blackened grouper and blackened Mahi...both were good but not outstanding. Kids had good portion burgers that were quality. Meal was reasonably priced. Key Lime pie was amazing but on par/average for the keys. Service was fast and friendly. When I go out to eat the most important quality I look for in a place is the ambiance, and this place delivers! I would recommend to anyone and I will return!

  • Ian M.

Great views, great food! My wife and I started with dozen oyesters. So good and loved their special sauce, seemed like a mild Tabasco with other goodies in it. I chose to try the grouper bisque and so glad I did. Amazing soup! And for dinner we had the seafood fish dish that had mussels, clams, shrimp, and scallops over linguine, again phenomenal!

Bustling restaurant, quick service and good food. Had the coconut shrimp which was the best I've ever tasted. Cocktails could be better but the food made up for everything.

  • Aya W.

Beware, tourist trap! Overpriced dishes compared with the quality of the food served. I ordered the grilled version of Fresh Catch of the Day. All I received was a flavorless, chewy Mahi-Mahi. My friend ordered Hogfish almandine style which arrived fresh but flavorless. My boyfriend ordered the oyster Po' boy, which was a generous portion for the price, but the pieces of fried oyster were more like big, fried dough chunks with little meat. We finished with key lime pie, which tasted more like cheesecake with lime flavoring added. The ladies room, however, is very nice.

We come here every time were in the keys for oysters - they always have cold water oysters - and they're delicious. The deep fried key lime pie isn't bad either.

We drove by this place and thought it was a great location and looked nice, read some reviews and decided to try it. Parking is limited but we were there early so we were all good. The hostess sat us in what we normally would think would be a great table...but we just got back from a 10 hour fishing trip and the sun seemed to be killing us. Our waitress was very concerned and continued to ask if we wanted to move tables but we didn't want to be a burden for something that wasn't their fault. We ordered the lobster rolls for an ap... I was expecting a tiny egg roll... Holy cow they were huge... Different and very tasty!! We both ordered soup and pasta. The soup was very good, it was the Island style she crab soup.. Now if you are expecting she crab soup.... Be warned... It's not traditional..but still good. The pasta bowls came out and they were huge. The prices are a little higher, but for the amount we got, it wasn't bad. Because the sun was making us uncomfortable we asked for our food to go somewhat quickly, but we had read a review about the DEEP FRIED KEY LIME PIE so we ordered a slice to go! It didn't last long back at the resort, and our left over pasta warmed up great the next day. Will go back next time when we can spend time and enjoy the atmosphere.

  • Gregory S.

Lobster was tough on top and raw on the bottom! We had asked to have it grilled but the Chef came out and said this was a bad idea! Then they didn't even offer a choice on sides and they served us undercooked rice pilaf and over cooked broccoli and cauliflower that no one liked and they didn't even care to ask why we didn't eat or if we liked it. It was $150 for 4 of us that would be half as much and twice as good at Outback!

Great conch fritters and stone crab claws! Great seafood all around along with shrimp tacos and fillet mignon. Would highly recommend for family or small group. Easy and friendly wait staff making it fun and enjoyable. Great selection of beers and margarita flavors and tequila choices. Would come back in a heart beat.

Stopped here twice on my vacation to the Keys. The first night I had a few drinks (hurricane, etc) that were delicious. Also had blackened shrimp that was really good. The second time I stopped was just to sit at the bar and have a few frozen drinks (key lime colada) and the bartender was very friendly and quick. I'd definitely go back to try more food. I had a group with me who said the mahi was amazing as well.

    (5)
  • Sheila P.

Food was just "ok" - not terrible, not great. All menu items were overpriced. I ordered a salad with mahi that was supposed to be blackened with Cajun spices - it was just a piece of fried fish, absolutely no spice! My husband ordered grouper with fries - again mediocre at best. Atmosphere was nice and service was ok.

Beautiful Restaurant right on the water. Too bad they don't spend more money on the chef. My husband and I ordered Oyster Po Boys the plate was filled with food. Coleslaw and French fries were very good. The Po Boy was on a long skinny bun that couldn't even start to hold the contents. My bun was old and fell apart the sandwich was bland. Oysters were good a little too much breading for a poor little oyster. The staff was efficient, not friendly. My big question to myself when I leave a restaurant is do I want to come back and enjoy the experience again? The answer is no.

It's a small place with amazing seating options both indoors and outdoors. The food was really good and the drinks too. Our waitstaff wasn't nice and was missing most of the times. We would definitely stop here again whenever we go to the keys!

I'll start by saying that this is the type of place you hope to find when on vacation! Island Fish distinguishes itself from all the local joints offering food, booze and music, not to mention the great view and ambience in the Keys and Island tradition. I looked them up on Yelp before traveling and was even more enticed after having lunch there, deciding to come back a few days later for New Year's dinner! The moment you walk in, it reeks of laid back fun and relaxation. While at the furthest point of the U.S., on water and in the sun, who wants anything but fresh fish, seafood and drink, so for lunch we had the Fresh Catch Mahi Mahi Sandwich on toasted bun, with remoulade sauce, lettuce, tomato and banana pepper, and excellent choice as the remoulade is good enough to write home about; also had the Fried Dolphin (incredibly tender) lightly dusted with flour, sautéed with sherry, lemon and butter Wrap; and the Baja Fresh Tacos consisting of soft tacos, lightly fried Mahi Mahi, cabbage, tomato, cilantro, jalopenos, and sour cream salsa, served with white rice and black beans; we also had their Taco Salad consisting of a fried tortilla bowl, refried beans, iceburg lettuce, tomato, Monterrey Jack and Cheddar cheeses, black olives, scallions and a side of tomatillo sauce topped with a blend of ground beef with sour cream and tomatoes; we washed it all down with Lemonade; Coors Lite; Stella; Virgin Pina Colada; Cuervo Margarita... Here at the beach I was expecting beach-bum names of my servers to be Buffy or Gidget, maybe Boom Boom or Wave-Runner, but I had to settle for Yani, more musical than beachy... anyway, service was extraordinary as was the food and ambience Ahoy and bon apetit!

Caution on any shrimp dish or the chef's rice and don't expect staff/management to be very helpful. The BBQ shrimp were pricey at $17.95 for 5 medium shrimp (25-30 count size), burnt bacon, watery BBQ sauce and tasteless chef's rice. Telling the waitress it was so-so and she avoided coming back to the table. When I finally found a manager, he said it was too late to do anything - nothing offered. I would have begged for some fries as I was still so hungry. Luckily my other half shared their dish. I'll never go back. Pretty location so, if you stop, be cautious with what you order.

Please be careful with this place, left a cash tip and $20 extra popped on my bill after the fact. The food was average, clean restaurant, polite staff.

We have been coming to the Keys for the last 5 years and always look forward to the Mahi dolphin sandwich here. To die for! And watching the fishermen come in with their catch. We once saw them haul in a huge sawfish!! Best fish sandwich in the Keys!

This place serves a great breakfast but as far as dinner don't waste your money. I ordered crab cakes and to be honest I've had better frozen. The shrimp was nasty and smelled so tried them and nearly puked. The people that work there are very nice and breakfast is great but dinner no way much better places to eat at

  • Soraya R.

Good service, awesome atmosphere...had the crab cakes with mango sauce and they were out of this world! I had the coconut shrimp which were, again, delicious...rice was a little under cooked veggies were bland! My BF had the Hog Fish Platter and he really liked it....fish was fresh and flakey!!! I would decently recommend this place!!

Good ambiance. Beautiful view next to the water. Waitress was SUPER nice and helpful. The fish was cooked perfectly. However the hostess who gave us the seats seem to really not care, slapping the menus on the table and not even smiley or looking at us, but other than that. Would come again and definitely recommend.

Breakfast was not good. These two stars are for the view. I ordered the "homemade" corned beef hash. Dog food quality. I mentioned to the waitress that they advertised this as home made & it seemed out of a can. She assured me it was made there which then made me dislike it even more & I found it amazing that a chef could make something that looked & tasted like poor quality meat from a can. We also ordered the biscuits & gravy. They were bland & the gravy was extremely starchy. Disappointing.

Lunch in way to Key West. Great stop. Our party of 4 had fried oyster platter which was excellent. A dozen oysters with plentiful fries & good cole slaw @ a reasonable price. Great outdoor setting & competent service. Good selection of beers & wine. Oysters were just right size & well breaded. Would look forward to returning.

All I can say is "WOW am I impressed." We happened on this place on accident because the restaurant we were supposed to go to was closed. We were seated out by the docking piers but by the way the place is built you can still see straight out into the water. We order an appetizer of Conch and I must say they were excellent. I also ordered a grapefruit infused beer called Stiegl Radler which enhanced the conch even more. For lunch the wife had their Spinach and Crab dip while I had their Spinach Salad with warm bacon dressing. Bothe were outstanding. Overall I would say this place it one of the greats to go to. I will be back when I get to the Keys again.

Awesome!!! Calamari was great, conch fritters were good (could have used more conch) fish dip was awesome and the conch cevise was better once we added the vingerette from the oysters in the 1/2 shell which were amazing. But the best part was the DEEP FRIED KEY LIME PIE! If you dont get it, you missed the most amazing key lime pie ever!!!

I was at this restaurant with my family over the Christmas Holidays. They have a captured Iguana in a tiny cage, just outside of the restaurant, which is extremely off putting and sad for anyone with an ounce of compassion. My family and I do not support exploitation of animals for human entertainment and would never go back to a place that does such a thing. Horrible!

Ate dinner here, I wanted something small, so I order the calamari and they were awesome, my wife had the linguini with shrimp and she liked it, the kids had the popcorn shrimp and they liked it, father in-law had the chicken wings and he liked it, Mother in-law had the chicken quesadilla and she loved it and recommend it, she tried the clam chowder and wasn't too thrill about it. Over all the food was great!

Well gave this place a try based on a recommendation from a neighbor. Can't say I was impressed. Atmosphere: 5 stars because you gotta love a place where you can sit on the water and watch the sun set. After the sun goes down you can fish watch with the lights they have in the water. Service: 3 stars. Not bad but not great either. Our server did take back a soup and replace it with another selection due to he first was just not good. Prices: about what you would expect in the keys. High price with smaller portions. Nothing to complain about when the food is excellent and the service is outstanding but that was not the case. Food: Start with apps, conch fritters good with plenty of conch with good flavor but a little greasy. Conch chowder, horrible, watery with NO FLAVOR. Not sure how you can ruin conch chowder but they succeeded in doing so. Conch ceviche was good but again not enough flavor/spice. Plenty of conch and lime but lacking in the other flavors you expect. Entree: Wife had dolphin sandwich, very good but side were just so-so. I had the baked yellow tail that was well cooked but the whole plate was under seasoned food. May give it a try again, but not really impressed for the price and the fact that in the Keys you expect a lot more when getting seafood.

  • Eric J.

Love this place. Outstanding service - ask for a table served by Yani. She is the perfect server - personable and extremely helpful. Not afraid to steer you toward the best stuff. What's good? Conch fritters, Caribbean Special, Stuffed Shrimp, BBQ Shrimp. The mango salsa was as good as I've ever had. Good portions and reasonable prices. You can sit dockside or under the tiki. Nice sunset view and you can boat in to avoid traffic...

We ate here for dinner & ordered the seafood tower for an appetizer. WOW!! It was amazzzzzzinggggg!!! Stone crab claws, shrimp, clams & oysters on 1/2 shell. We were not disappointed. Our bloody Mary's complimented the seafood tower perfectly & the drink was strong with a kick! The service was REALLY good & the waitress was extremely attentive. I had the fish tacos & my brother had the Mahi wrap. Both were DELICIOUS!! We will definitely be back.

  • Mark L.

Extra star because of the location - can't beat the sunset views from this waterside restaurant. Perfect place for a big group - friendly service and decent grub. Gotta get conch fritters in the Keys, right? Yep - but you can do better, they were a little chewy. If you cook in the keys, you might want to figure out the dough/hot oil thing. Spinach crab dip should be Spinach-with-a-hint-of-crab dip - but it was pretty good as spinach dip. A blackened grouper sandwich came out fried instead - but the small piece of fish was terrific. It was a notch above what you'd expect - pretty good food in an outstanding setting. Good service made it better.

  • Dave S.

A great open air waterfront restaurant in the Keys. Makes a great 1/2 way stop (well a little more than half-way) between Miami and Key West. Get the blackened Dolphin sandwich---its not too fishy and a good alternative to a burger. The fried shrimp platter is also recommend. For dessert we tried both the key lime pie and the fried key lime pie, the later tastes like a donut or a churro filled with key lime goodness. It's a casual place with above average food and a nice ambiance---you get to eat right on the water! This looks to be a fun place for drinks as well--huge bar in the middle of the restaurant. However, I was driving so no daytime margaritas for me.

  • Scott F.

Food was decent, menu on there web site and actual menu was much different! Beware 1/2 the web site menu is not available. Mahi Mahi was ok but conch fritters were tasty. Place is also under construction and basically only the tiki bar area has seating. If you are expecting standard Keys fare you won't be disappointed. I expected more based on the name alone

You know... The food here was really f@%*in good. We rolled in and sat up at the bar and since this is CHILLY time here in Florida I decided to get a NICE Red Hot Martini (Ronnie Libra Style) sans the Red Hots. The bartender here did it well and they had Nice Big Martini glasses here too. I ordered some Chicken thing with black beans and rice. The chicken was topped with a big red pepper cooked just right and some mushrooms. It was SOO good and alot too, which I think is Key. Key in the Keys, get it. It's a Joke son, I'm pitchin em and you're not catchen em. Ahem.. Foghorn Leghorn moment. The atmosphere was nice and quaint. I don't usually give bars 5 stars unless they're AMAZING but this is a Restaurant and I just go by how I felt at that moment. In this case it was a 5 experience. Go here.

Meh, we weren't impressed. Overall, I'm just not a fan of sitting at plastic tables in plastic chairs drinking my adult beverage from a plastic cup and eating from a plastic dish, especially from a place where the service was only adequate and the food mediocre. It was quick at least: we were in and out for dinner in about 22 minutes. There was no ambiance to speak of, and there were children and people taking pictures of the sunset everywhere...definitely crowded and just not a pleasant experience for us. Oh, and the parking lot is pretty nightmarish. We won't be back (even though the Key Lime Colada was excellent).

If you are looking for a place for Thanksgiving dinner in the Floriday Keys, as we were, look no further. We made reservations on Tuesday before and it was the right choice. Service was prompt and attentive and they were sensitive to the weather. There was a fresh breeze off the Gulf and rain on the horizon, but it passed. It was cool for the Keys at the time (70's). They started us with a good relish tray and fresh bread. Then came the bird and fixings. We had a 12 lb. bird to ourselves and it came with mashed red potatoes, cornbread stuffing, cranberry sauce, and green bean casserole, scrumptious gravy and more bread. They carved the bird while we watched then we feasted. The bird was tender, moist and delicious. The stuffing even won over my son, who normally does not eat stuffing! It was simply the best turkey gravy I've ever had. Best of all we got all the leftovers to take with. The only item that we deemed not worthy of leftovers was the green bean casserole, but we got extras of gravy and mashed potatoes since we polished off our portions. Also included was an entire pumpkin pie for dessert. Since the rest of the family was not a fan of this I feasted alone. It was the best pumpkin pie I've had, period! Sorry mom!!! I'm hopeful this review is useful to anyone looking for Thanksgiving dinner in the keys in the future. Sorry, we did not have any of their traditional seafood items at this visit. I thought the entire meal was a great value for 4 of us at $15 per person plus drinks. Not too mention how good it was. Now we are the stuffed birds!

I had conch chowder that was REALLY awesome, but they were out of literally 75% of the menu items. I realize that maybe you can't do your full menu when you're renovating, but at least tell people what's not available when they first get there and not after they've tried to order four different things that you're out of. We ate outside (since the inside was closed) and the atmosphere was very relaxed and fun. Prices were about average for the area. I'd eat here again, but I'd make sure they were done renovating first.

Hands down my fave spot in the central keys. The atmosphere is perfect; a thatched roof with no walls. Open air, a nice breeze and plenty of options to sit down. Picnic tables for groups, fun bar, outdoor seating, etc. Chicken quesadilla, nachos, their gigantic salads are all great and having lived in the keys for a period of time; hands down the best conch fritters in the area!

The Good: The location was amazing. Dinner overlooking the water, very tropical motif with the whole Tiki look. Appetizer and meals were brought to the table quickly. The appetizer of Fried Calamari was delicious. The Strawberry Daiquiris were good too, even if they were served in a small plastic cup. I would have had a second had the server bothered to come back to the table. The Bad: The service was awful. We had been seated for close to 10 minutes before our server even bothered to see what we would like to drink. After placing our order, she only made 2 more trips back to the table; one to give us bread (after our meal had been served) and once with the check. Other people brought us our original order of drinks, appetizer, and dinner. We finished our drinks quickly and asked her for refills as she walked back past the table, but she never stopped. My husband's Caesar Salad was Caesar free; no dressing at all. I order the BBQ shrimp and for $19 I was given 5 small pieces of shrimp, broccoli, and rice. Plenty of broccoli and rice, but a bit overpriced for the shrimp. My husband ordered a pasta dish. It was served in a HUGE bowl (looked like a serving bowl) with a spoon. We asked multiple people for a plate for him to place his serving on and a fork (they took his with the salad), but it took 15 minutes for someone to finally bring us a very wet plate and the fork. Both meals were merely okay. Originally we had planned to get dessert, but after our experience we declined and left.

This was our family's BEST meal in the keys! The food was delicious (we had a few different oyster and shrimp dishes) and the service was excellent. Sitting right next to the beautiful water and taking home a frisbee didn't hurt either!

Beautiuful setting, great service but the food is just average. Nothing to write home about. There are too many restaurants in the area that have great food and views. I won't go back here. They are way overpriced for what you get.

Loved the atmosphere. Nice sitting outside right next to the water. We watched schools of fish swim by! Food was served fast and fresh. Hubby loved the conch chowder and it was very flavorful large portion too. Daughter had the coconut fried shrimp and lived it! I had a house salad (fresh & large) and boiled shrimp!! Yum, it was all great!

Location, Location, Location!!!! This place is set in a fantastic area, overlooking the water almost every angle. Dining Al Fresco, with the open ocean, and fresh seafood. It really just makes for a pleasant day or night. It's mainly about the setting here, and all else follows behind. The food is decent enough and if you stick with the norm, you should end up pretty satisfied. Fresh catch sandwich was tasty enough as well as the Oyster trio-Key lime, BBQ, and Rockefeller-really great. The service was relaxed and in true Key fashion, people took their time. Because you are on vacation and the atmosphere is so chill, this is okay...if I were dining in NY or NJ, this might be a problem. The server did always make sure to check on us and make sure we had nice cold beers while we waited and dined in the Florida sunshine and took the view in. The price was dirt cheap considering the freshness of the seafood. I do not mean inexpensive, I mean dirt cheap. I think my fresh caught mahi sammie and fries was like $8.00 or something, and the beers were like $2.00 or some ridiculously low price that I haven't seen in quite some time. Together with the view and some fresh seafood in such a relaxing atmosphere, this place adds up to an above average vote from me!

Great atmosphere rum runner was good and conch fritters, were excellent! The other food others in our party ordered all looked good, only one didn't care for the fish, didn't like the stuffing or something but we had 8 others and all were happy.

My son had been to The Fish Co. Many times and I couldn't wait to try it. Now have been there several times. The Calamari w/ banana peppers is the best I've ever had.Great casual atmosphere right on the the gulf side with gorgeous sunset vistas. Their fresh catch du jour is always well prepared and the servers are knowledgeable and cordial.

This place was recommended to us but it was a bad recommendation. Just inside the entrance smelled like a sewer. The lobster rolls I ordered were basically cheese with minimal, if any lobster. My wife ordered fried oysters and she thought they tasted like they came from a can. Food and drinks were very expensive and definitely not worth the price.

    (1)
  • Michael S.

It was ok. The view and ambiance was cool. The service was adequate. The food was good. It was highly recommended, which maybe set our expectations too high. The cost was a bit high, but hey, we are tourists on our honeymoon, so all good.

The setting on the water is the best thing about this place. The food was bland and mediocre at best. We had the She Crab soup which was thick and gummy. Nothing like the version we had at Hyman's in Charleston SC. The seafood quesadilla was also bland. Too bad because it's a great location.

My boyfriend and I came here from Port St Lucie, FL. I've stayed on Key Largo twice and we wanted to try somewhere else. This restaurant was very convenient- right across the street from our hotel, the Holiday Inn (very nice too). We arrived at about 7 pm, no wait and got a seat right on the water to watch the sunset. Unfortunately, the sun was setting behind some boats and houses- not right over the water the way we hoped and it was obstructed a lot. We ordered drinks. The hurricane was good- $7. The crab spinach dip was absolutely amazing!!!! Came with yummy crackers. Not sure why they put a different basket of saltine crackers on the table. I ordered the pasta basil something with chicken. For $17 you got a lot of food and it was pretty yummy. Most fish dishes were $20-30. My boyfriend ordered the clam strips and seemed happy with those. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. There is a dock you can walk out on. Went to Sweet Savannah's for dessert and that was yummy too.

Tiki Hut dining. We did not get to sit on the deck since we were with our child - perhaps it's beautiful out there? Inside was clean but nothing special. First come, first serve - no reservations. Service was good and the menu full of different kids of seafood. Kids menu was ample. Food was just ok - while there were many choices on the menu, nothing delivered any "wow" factor. We tried the lobster eggrolls which sounded unique but they were tasteless and a bit soggy. My stuffed shrimp had so little shrimp and so much tasteless stuffing on top of the shrimp (we do it the other way in New England) that I couldn't even taste the shrimp. Perhaps we are used to New England seafood. Bread, veggies, etc. are all ala carte. Catch of the day was the best way to go and they have Hogfish which was the most interesting note of the evening.

Great food. Great atmosphere. Service was a little slow but place was packed. Ate the steamers and grouper. Had deep fried key lime pie for dessert. Can't get enough of Key West Sunset Ale. Would eat there again when I am in the keys.

We had apps one night last week, crab cakes if I am not mistaken. Excellent. But the reason for the review was the Hog Fish prepared Francais style that we had on Sunday night. Unbelievable. Best piece of fish I have had in years.

My husband and I enjoyed our visit. We sat on the water with pelicans and herons for entertainment. The service was good. Everyone was helpful and pleasant. We ordered crab cakes as an appetizer and found them excellent. We both chose fresh catch entrees. My husband had yellow snapper francese which he described as light, eggy and delicious. He started with the conch chowder which was prepared like a Manhattan clam chowder. It was very tasty. I had hogfish almandine. It was delicious. We even liked the sides. We shared a slice of key lime pie. It was okay, a little too sweet for our taste. My husband prefers a merengue topping. We had decaf coffee. It was actually strong enough. We wish American restaurants would invest more in good quality coffee. It is often your last taste memory. We would go back here with pleasure.

Being a vegetarian in the Florida Keys (except for Key West) ain't easy. We were lucky to find this place, and we ate dinner here twice! The first night I got the veggie burger, as did my husband. It comes with chips and slaw. It was ok. We also got an appetizer of chips/salsa/guac. The guac was good. For dessert we got a piece of Key Lime Pie. It was pretty good. The next dinner I got the cheese quesadillas, and hubby got a big salad. We also got a kid's meal, which was a grilled cheese and fries, and what was cool about it was, when our son was finished eating, our server flipped over the "plate" and showed us it was a frisbee! Score! So that was cool. This place is on the water, also, and the scenery is really pretty. They have a little pier you can walk out on, and on the rocks, right beside the restaurant, we saw a bunch of lobsters. Weird. Oh, on the 2nd night I got FRIED key lime pie for dessert. Interesting.

  • Crystal S.

Meh. This place came well recommended by friends, but like many restaurants in The Keys, they are always packed so have no need to provide good food or good service. The shrimp tacos were fine, but the seafood wrap was terrible. The shrimp and scallops had been frozen before cooked. The highlight of the meal was the key lime pie, which has a wonderfully light Graham cracker crust. Skip dinner. Stop for dessert.

yes, i will admit i went here just b/c it was featured on brigette's sexiest beaches....the food was just alright. ordered gulf oysters, couldn't eat them. had nachos, pretty gross, weren't crunchy just kind of soggy. my hubby ordered the hogfish, it was good but we had so much yummy hogfish that the dish wasn't enough to save me from just thoroughly not enjoying the experience. location is nice and let's face it, slim culinary pickings down at the keys...

We stopped in here on the way back from Key West. This was our second time eating here and both times our dishes were one of the best we'd had while in the keys. We started with the conch ceviche which had tons of conch in it but was a little lacking in flavor. For some reason they served the ceviche with tortilla chips which we didn't eat (or understand). For our main courses we had snapper Almandine (sp?) and Hog Fish served mediterranean style with olives, tomatos and capers. Both were quite delicious and the service was attentive and pretty quick. We sat out on the dock to watch sunset which was pretty but there are quite a few mangroves nearby so be ready to get chewed on by the no-seeums if you have shorts and flip flops like I did (especially at dusk). They've added an underwater light since we were there last and after the sun goes down it's like a natural aquarium with all of the snapper, barracuda and snook that hang around. Overall I would recommend this place for a semi-midway stop for Key West or if you are staying in/around Marathon.

Go here.

My favorite place to eat when coming home from the keys. Key lime colada and piña coladas are so yummy, taste authentic. Mango crab cakes mmmmm. Everything here is delish!

  • Debby E.

Best homemade pancakes ever, service wad spot on as well as the fresh squeezed orange juice. View and a fish food for the kids to feed the parrot, snapper, needle, sargent major and minnows made the experience better.

Do not. Under any circumstances. Order the deep fried key lime pie. It's a death trap. A suicide wrap. Better to skip out on it than die while you're young. Other than that. Fine food. Service leaves something to be desired. Next time, I'll just stick with Keys Fisheries

Stopped in for breakfast. Shrimp and Grits were very good, nice-n-cheesy! The wife ordered a bacon and spinach omelette. The omelette was cooked to perfection. Atmosphere is awesome. The island vibe was great. Our server Brian was outstanding, we give him five stars for his professionalism. Thanks Brian!! We will definitely add this place to our regular list of great places to eat and will definitely recommend to others!

We loved this place! great appetizer choices. The tuna tataki was excellent! Also had a delicious Hogfish special. Fresh fish and a view of the water bayside. Cool atmosphere! A definite do over for us!

Never a bad choice yet. Had the stuffed shrimp today along with sautéed broccoli and cauliflower and rice and beans. A lot of food for the price! Indoor and outdoor seating on the water.

10/10. 5 stars. WOW

  • Karen R.

It was a very good lunch. Manatee swam up near us which is always cool. Nice water view. They were busy but we had good service.

We definitely got our money's worth here. The portions were big and everything that we ordered was very tasty. We will come back for sure.

Always had really good food and really good service! Whenever we're on Marathon we always come! Best onion rings I've ever had, and the quesadilla is amazing. they're extra good because they don't make their food overly salty or overly oily. And they even have stuff for vegetarians! Highly recommend!

  • Julia V.

    (2)
  • Michael F.

Overpriced tourist trap! The service was subpar and the food was average. The pricing was ridiculously high. Would not recommend and will not return.

  • Rodger L.

    (4)

    (5)
  • James M.

Bustling restaurant, quick service and good food. Had the coconut shrimp which was the best I've ever tasted. Cocktails could be better but the food made up for everything.

    (4)

    (2)
  • Jordana S.

  • Aubrey W.

  • Teele S.

    (3)
  • Susan S.

    (3)
  • Sach M.

It's a small place with amazing seating options both indoors and outdoors. The food was really good and the drinks too. Our waitstaff wasn't nice and was missing most of the times. We would definitely stop here again whenever we go to the keys!

  • Rick G.

    (1)

    (4)
  • Angela D.

  • Kelly C.

  • George H.

Excellent clams. Atmosphere was great. Enjoyed the catch of the day. Definitely would go back when in the area.

  • Mike Beth K.

Horrible!

Fried shrimp AWESOME....chicken pistachio wrap...to die for! Fabulous stop on the way to KW. View is very pretty

  • Tony D.

  • Dena C.

    (5)

  • Mike M.

Great breakfast. I had an omelet (the Fluffiest I've ever had) and hubby had the jalapeño hash. Service was good. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was we asked for rye bread and got white. I would eat here again.

  • Lynda M.

  • Michele M.

The stone crab claws are awesome, besides that it's pretty generic American food. Growing up in the Bahamas, I expected my jumbo claws to be big, but I would say they were small for what I am used to, but they were well prepared and fresh so that's why this place got 3 stars.

  • Vince S.

Thank you!

  • Mitch K.

    (4)
  • Todd P.

    (5)
  • Sam B.

  • HughJasole X.

  • J E.

I recommend it.. highly :)

Decent food but a bit bland. Most restaurants down here really aren't great - the Keys are a giant tourist trap and the restaurants support that. Disappointed in general everywhere we went. This place was decent - soup was good, clams & linguine was nothing unique.

Delicious Dolphin sandwich , conch fritters were just alright . Service was good as were the drinks
