Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Dive bar with friendly service and great food! Son had the cheesesteak. Other son and I split the pizza. Perfect. Pool table outside and kid friendly. Way cool Lego display.

We stopped in here while on vacation expecting to get a pizza, but it was taco Tuesday so we settled on tacos. They were quite good and for a buck a piece, made for a cheap dinner. Staff was very friendly and the bathrooms were clean.

I have been to the hurricane twice once for the 5 dollar lunch menu which by the way is 5-7$ lunch menu but the food was decent bar food. Another time we had the tachos again decent bar food. Overall i would recommend the hurricane for its lowish prices and decent happy hour.
(3)Daniela B.
The food was really good! We tried the filled mushrooms, falafel pita, shepherds pie and edamames, everything was delicious. The ambiance was the best, they had a live band of teenagers brothers and sisters that were amazingly talented, would definitely be back.
(4)Jessica J.
Pizza was amazing, just got the cheese to try it out, they have .25 wing night on thursdays, drinks are super strong, staff was super nice, bring a sweater its kind of cold inside,
(4)Sarah M.
This place is truly a dive. The inside smells and everything could use a good scrubbing. I got the panko dolphin. It was generic and bland. My husband and MIL got the burger and they enjoyed those. Service was horrible, we were told to get our own high chair and the waitress never checked on us after she delivered our meal. I would not return to this place.

The Hurricane is a sports bar that serves food. Most evenings there is live music. Their pizza is good and they also serve traditional "bar & grill" food. The secret to this place is trying the specials that change periodically. They're usually inexpensive and tasty. Service can tend to be slow.

Great Pizza and wings. At first we couldn't make up our minds on what flavor wings so they said they'd mix em and boy were they amazing medium spicy teriyaki wings. We also ordered the Meaty Pie. It had pepperoni, sausage, meatballs, and bacon and not bits but slices of bacon. We ate all but one slice and there was only two of us. They have great lunch specials at around $5. I will most definitely eat here again. Oh and they have the most awesome Lego setup :)
(5)Amanda K.
great service, good food!! Best prices on the island. Happy Hour =11-6 Friendly bar scene at night. Wing night = Thursday, Taco night = Tuesday... both Start at 6pm.
(5)William C.
The Hurricane rocks! The wings are awesome! Except for the occasional crabby waitress we always have a good time at the Hurricane. Often they have live music, .25 wings on thursdays, taco tuesdays... Pitchers of beer. It's a good time.
(4)Rosanne M.
Great wings and pizza. Good little local place. Nothing fancy but good food and good service. And like the touch of live music.
(4)Stephanie F.
This place was walking distance from where we stayed at banana bay resort and we didn't rent a car ..let me tell ya this place saved our pocket books and life...they had FIVE dollar lunches and everything was yummy...great ribs...This place as happening at night too..Loved this place
(5)Patrice S.
Great dinner & great bartender, Mia. I had chix taco salad & DH had shrimp basket. Be sure to try the "Tachos" - tots dressed as nachos. Awesommly decadent! AND... Invented by Mia!
(4)Joe W.
Great tourist spot, and I can only imagine how the nightlife turns into a spot for locals. We stopped in on their non-lunch rush, and got prompt service and some average bar food. GO for their Happy Hour time to determine if this is a spot for you. This is going to be a "hit or miss" location without consistency.

Non-Food Review: I came here with my buddies on our last night in Marathon. Great local spot with great hospitality. My friends and I ordered some cocktails, played some darts while listening to a live blues band which had the entire place groovin'. Definitely one of the better, more memorable nights of the entire trip. Stop reading and just go already!
(4)Jack C.
Had a blast here lots of fun
(4)Geoffrey G.
We were here this past Thursday night which is "Wing Night". We came with our friends who are locals and had a good time although it was fun because of the conversation and not the actual restaurant. I wouldn't say that the food was anything special. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was pretty good but nothing special. It really reminded me of the restaurant/bars that I went to when I was in college. It felt like a bar with food more than a restaurant with a bar. Not a bad place but I would set your expectations fairly low.

I dig this place! With good 'za, good staff, and a giant Lego replica of south beach! Outdoor poop tables, and from what I hear it's the only place that stays open during hurricanes. Haven't been there for live music..... yet!
(4)Tony L.
We stopped by this place for lunch during our tour de Key. It was in a town called Marathon. They were just on the main Overseas Hwy. Really cannot miss them when you are a touring the Key. The have a beach theme décor here and be sure to check out the huge LEGO model they got. We got a bunch of appetizers and sampled varies dishes there. Totcho was probably the most awesome dish I ever tried in a while, very simple but well executed. It was basically Tatar Tots with Nacho Cheese on top then sprinkled with bacon bites and green onions, comes with a side of sour cream. We also got some Curly Fries and Chicken Wings, those were good as well. For main courses, we got some Philly Cheese Steak, a pizza, and Dolphin del Mar. The cheesesteak was pretty good, the meats were quality and tender, and the sandwich had nice flavor to it. The pizza was just ok. The dolphin meat tasted very nice... j/k... I think it was a type of fish baked with crabmeat stuffed inside. Flavor was very nice, but rice underneath was ok. Hurricane was an overall solid joint for some nice local cuisine. Service was decent too. I would definitely return here again when I am in the area.

I saw adverts for live music in their bar, and I called to confirm the times for live music. We went there after dinner... and no live music. The advertising was still out front, but the music was a no show. The wait staff just shrugged. Fool me once.
(1)Melissa C.
Came in for dinner not realizing it was more of a bar. We were the only ones eating at tables and a few people at the bar. It's bar food so that is what to expect. Wings were cooked too long and very hard and loaded nachos had a funky taste. Kids liked their chicken fingers and they had fun playing games.
(3)Jason M.
A great dive restaurant. Good pizza and pleasant service. Worth stopping at. The Elvis shrine is optional.
(4)Dani D.
We stopped here on a Sunday night around 9:30pm, after spending most of the day kayaking. We were hungry, and it was recommended to us by someone who lives in the area. 1. You're not going to get keys ambiance in this place. You're essentially in a dive bar. If you want a water view, or to be impressed, this is not your joint. 2. Pretty relaxed place, pool tables, darts, a small dance floor. 3. Main dining area is average, but really cool lego module town in a case. 4. REALLY nice waitress who warned us up front that our pizza may take a little longer than expected because a big group had just walked in and ordered. No problem for us. We ordered pizza and a few drinks. Our pizza ended up only taking about 20 minutes which was more than fine for us. Solid pizza (not the best I've ever had but certainly better than dominos/papa johns/etc) that hit the spot. All in all, I'd come back to try things out again. If you're looking for a relaxed atmosphere that isn't typical water view and seafood, give this place a shot.

Ordered two large cheese pizza for delivery. Took 1&1/2 hours!!! Pizza was hard and cold. I called the restaurant three times to check on my order. When I started to complain about their obvious mistake Instead of being apologetic they were very smug and didn't even offer some type of discount. That's why I am writing this review -very poor customer service and very poor quality of food. Wasted of money!!
(1)Connor D.
Very cool restaurant! Lunch is great and only $6! Food is fantastic! Employees are very nice! 5 stars! Most recommend going to or leaving from Key West!
(5)Jill C.
Jen was an amazing server. She was friendly and attentive. Re mahi was fresh and the pizzas were tasty. The key lime pie was exceptional.
(4)Jim S.
I have been a regular here since 1997 thru several remodels and owners. This is most under rated bar in the middle Keys---- waitstaff and bartenders are great, prices good as is the food. Parking can be scarce on Thurs wing night, but you will find one. This is where the locals eat and drink.
(4)Jim M.
I ordered take out pizza based on yelp reviews. Walked in at 4:00pm on a Saturday and ordered two pies. ( basic cheese and a supreme) Pizza was cold and taste was your basic chain store pizza. But then again it's a seafood area!
(3)Kelsey C.
Service was really good, and I think my friends enjoyed their trash can burgers. It wasn't the classiest joint, but stays open later than the other bars. There's a sweet South Beach skyline made of Legos in the center that is awesome.
(4)Stephanie I.
Fair service. Fried shrimp were so-so. The shrimp themselves were wonderful, but they were battered super thick, like a corn dog. Overall, not with the $50 for two of us.
(2)Mary Grace L.
After a long day of beach volley is the best place to eat and drink something while you are watching Heat!!
(5)Laura D.
We ordered the taco pizza and a pepperoni pizza, both were dripping with grease. Both pizzas tasted good after we soaked up all the grease. If your body doesn't agree with grease I'd tread lightly when ordering pizza from The Hurricane :)
(3)Shreya B.
Very fresh food... But the entrance is a little shady and hence it's hard to locate from outside.
(5)Mitch K.
It's hard to find a restaurant that's open after 10pm in the middle keys. Like, really hard, esp. on a Sunday. It was 10pm on a Sunday and we were using yelp to try to find a restaurant that was still open, and The Hurricane popped up with a closing time of midnight. Surely that was a misprint, right? Nope! We had a nice time here - the buffalo wings were hot and crisp, my "fish reuben" was delicious, my wife enjoyed her sliders, and I don't think the key lime pie was made in-house but who cares as it was delicious. They also have live bands, and on the night we went they had a great band rocking out to all sorts of artists (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stone Temple Pilots, etc.). Thanks for the great meal, so glad you were open!
(4)BriAnna J.
After a bad experience at another yelp search result we decided to call hurricane. Best decision we ever made. The lady on the phone was so sweet and did everything she could to make sure our food got to us and was correct since she knew we were from out of town. The delivery guy was cheerful and just happy to be around. We didn't even care if the food came tasting subpar. But it ended up being as fabulous as the people. The sauce on the pizza definitely was homemade and they had no fear of the wonderful dairy product known as cheese. The crust was thin but not at all greasy. Just an overall well prepared pizza. We would totally order from this establishment again. Thank you so much for being a great part of our mid winter get away.
(5)Adriana S.
We came here at 8:00 pm and we were waiting for almost 45 min for 20 wingz. Plates were dirty and the service was terrible! At the end, wingz were good but I didn't have more time to order another plate. If you are tired and hungry try to find another place! In this place you are gonna be sad.
(2)sig s.
Great lunch specials and very attentive staff. Been here many times over the past 20 years and have never been disappointed...wish they still had their sliders. Excellent beer selection of IPAs
(4)Elisa C.
Came to watch the World Cup game and grab a bite before the 4th of July fireworks. (Thanks for being open! =) We made it just in time to take advantage of the $5 lunch menu. Service was great and the food was decent. My son loved the flatbread pizza and my husband and I loved the trash can sauce for the wings (not the highest quality of wings but the sauce made up for that!). We also had the french dip which was okay. Overall, decent spot for decent food.
(4)Kathleen R.
Great place! Katie, behind the bar, was super fun and friendly as were the rest of the staff! It is very hard to find a place that stays open after 10 and this place does. Food and drink prices were very reasonable. Good place to watch football too! If you like a good "locals" place this would be it.
(4)Sara T.
We came out here because it was the closest place to our hotel that had live music on a Sunday! This was one of the most fun nights of our trip!! :) It might sound strange, but I am a mozzarella stick connoisseur...and these were some of the BEST mozzarella sticks I've ever had! The marina sauce was sweet and spicy and fresh. If you want something inventive to snack on.... TOTCHOS! mmmmmmmm Tator Tots smothered in cheese, bacon, scallions, and sour cream... YUM!!! My mom and I shared a pizza with spinach, artichokes, and pepperoni... 1 pizza will easily feed 4-5 people.... the good news is we had leftovers for back at the hotel after drinking all night :) The drinks....oh my god the drinks.... not weak... these bartenders know how to pour!!! Delicious and just the right price...oh and the icing on the cake? The band!!! The hot guitar player with dreads was our favorite :)
(4)Meaghan C.
Great Local Spot!! Great Music!! Entertaining staff!! Easy not over complicated menu, local at home feeling. ~ homemade soups, dressings & dishes, food is made to order, fresh salads, easy to get healthy sides for my son, vegetarian/vegan choices ~
(5)Jojo F.
Like Kimberly D. noted, the $5 lunch menu is your Golden Ticket. My husband was in love with his Sea Dog Blue Paw Blueberry Beer and shrimp. The stir-fry plate I had was so delicious and had plenty of flavor. We also split an order of sliders which were awesome. Go for the food, stay for the Lego recreation of Miami Beach. Good service, clean bathroom, great lunch.

Went on friday night to have a few cocktails and hear some live music. Marathon is not Key west so you need to adapt and take what nightlife there is and do it. But this is also why I like hanging in THE MIDDLE KEYS. Well, it was a little slow at first but then the drunks rolled in, and a few groups of girls came in, and the stoned band finally got their equpment working and it was very entertaining. I would not eat here unless you need so drunk food. We left when we thought a couple drunks were about to rumble. We were not worried because we had befriended an absulutely huge guy at the bar. We will go back.
(4)Drew F.
Horrible service and meal. Waitress put in the wrong burger in for myself and another person in our party. When we asked about it she said that she thought everyone ordered a BBQ burger and she said it would be 20-25 minutes each burger to fix it. The restaurant was completely empty we were the only table and the bar had just a few people so 25 minutes to cool a burger is unacceptable. We just ate the burgers brought out which were not fresh just frozen patties not sure why they even asked for a temperature all of the burgers were all brown in the middle. Would not go back.
(1)Kimberly T.
Like the $5.00 lunch menu. The service is great too. Happy hour from 11am to 6pm.
(4)Jon C.
Came in around 8:30 pm for dinner and was very disappointed with the service and food. They appeared very understaffed and it was weird that there were only certain people who could do certain jobs (I.e. food runner could not bring us a small cup of ranch dressing and had us waive down our overworked waitress instead). Food was pretty bad as well... onion rings are weirdly stale and soft even though they were piping hot, pork ribs were super mushy (a weird texture that meat shouldn't be) and generic tasting... like they just poured some cheap BBQ sauce over boiled ribs. Avoid this place for dinner... or at least don't order ribs.
(1)Jen S.
We came in time for the $5 lunch specials based off of Yelp reviews, but let me emphasize that this definitely leans more towards a bar than a restaurant. While the food was good and the service was friendly, it was a little awkward to walk in with two babies under 6 months old. We stood out like the obvious tourists we were, but the locals made the best of the experience and offered us the only table on the platform so the two moms who were clearly starving could grab a bite to eat. Thank you for the recommendation because the food was good and the people were very kind to us, but let me emphasize: Bar! :)
(4)Pearl M.
When I walked in I was tempted to tun and run. Its old and run down and the carpet is filthy. But they had a pretty good $5 lunch special I had a salad with chicken. Really in the Keys to get a meal for $5 I cannot complain. But dont expect anything fancy here. They do have two pool tables and darts.
(4)Dian C.
Part-bar, part-restaurant, we came here because it is walking distance (20 min walk along the highway) from the municipal marina, where we docked our boat. We dined in the restaurant, which is in a separate room from the bar. They serve typical bar foods like burgers and fried conch fritters, as well as slightly more gourmet dishes. The conch fritters were a too much dough and not enough conch, but the salad was fresh and came with a great dressing. Slightly odd in the dining room was a huge display of Miami's South Beach made entirely out of Legos. I'd love to hear the story of how it came to be here.
(3)Thad S.
Great place in the middle keys. Cheap beer, Big Buck Hunter, and a brick pizza oven. Good crowd, fun to drink at.
(4)Tracy M.
Great food. $5.00 lunch is worth it. Don't forget the fried Cheescake!
