Have now been here here twice and was utterly disappointed both times. The first visit was about 2 weeks after they opened and attributed the food quality and poor service to the recent opening. I went back last night and it actually has gotten worse. Our server was far worse than apathetic. He had no knowledge of the beer inventory or was just too lazy to check. On 2 or 3 occasions a member of our party would order a beer, only to be informed that they no longer had that beer. Food came out to half of our table while the other half was still waiting to receive their beers. There is no way I can recommend this place to anyone in the middle keys. However, the closing of a few other restaurants in town will probably bring this place enough business to stay open. In over 10 years in the keys, I have never had as bad a server as we had here last night. for locals, you know what a loaded statement that is.

Not a bad stop on your way back home from the keys. The servers are very hospitable , lot of variety in the menu, quick service , decent food. Verdict: Not a bad pit stop.

The best restaurant I have eaten in a while!! Noelle is a top notch server!! Pork chop was to die for as were the escargot!! Presentation was perfect! Wonderful wine list, white tablecloth service I can't say enough good things about this place!! I wish I came sooner but will definitely make it a regular spot! This restaurant belongs on Islamorada along all the other great ones!!

Really surprised at the low star count for this place. Me and my friend were just looking for some late night seafood action and we found this place was open til 2am for food. The atmosphere is just your average sports bar which isn't all that cool in the keys but they had late night happy hour drinks n apps. $5 blackened tuna bites and steamed shrimp were great but what really blew me away was the lobster reuben! This was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had! And I've had me some sandwiches. Biting in to this thing you get the great crunch of the fried lobster as well as that pop of the meat. You know it's fresh and real. And this thing is loaded with meat. The side of homemade potatoe salad was also some of the best I've had. They even hooked me up with a free pint glass because I was raving about the food so much. Really get service (from our bartender Cody), great food and open late! There is another place in town claiming to have the best lobster reuben but I don't see how it could be better than this sucker.

I don't get why so many people (both on Yelp and Google) left such great reviews for this place.. haha. The restaurant was packed but I can't figure out why. The service was slow (even for island time), the drinks were incredibly overpriced, the food we were served ranged from disgusting to tasteless to decent and it was a $50 meal for two people, the parking lot was dimly lit and sketchy, and there was a manager cursing in the parking lot. I'm not one to be offended by "bad language" but it was very unprofessional. Maybe we caught this place on an off night but for what we paid, we won't be trying it again. Just not worth the money. We've eaten at many other spots in Marathon and highly recommend Sparky's, Sunset Grille, and Castaway's. Marathon Grille was simply unimpressive...

My server was Simone she was nice in the beginning. We was pleasant. So 1st we order our food at 1:00pm ordered 2 burgers medium well with fries and a coke and a water. It's about 20 seating filled in the restaurant. So not that busy for lunch...Our drinks was filled by another server. My server Simone came by looked kept going. Our food comes out around 1:30 over cooked burgers. The burned burger was covered by the American cheese...an awful taste. I looked for Simone only to see the other server. I showed her the chard burgers and she agreed that it wasn't med well, as well that it was overcooked. So I cut the burger in half. cut the burned off the patty and ate it. Now I asked if Chef Scott was back there cooking. They said yes. Unbelievable...I have never had bad food from this place. Now when Simone finally came over to give me a check she said I took off the soda and gave you a 10% local discount. I became upset and stated that I simply wanted a very good burger that I've had before. and I don't have a problem paying my bill you taking off the soda and giving me the 10% that I was already going to get, didn't mean a thing to me. I just wished that I was at least satisfied. My total was $21.00+5 tip. I paid 26.00 so here's to the charity. I waste more than that daily. very very dissatisfied. I frequented this place regularly with Fishermen's Hospital staff. Won't be doing that. Besides finding out that Simone was my server was the actual owner had me more than upset. Ale House has truly gone down.

This place smells funky. It Stinks. They have a nice looking set up but when the door opens it smells like old beer. Clean the place up. Nice TV coverage is all this place has going for it. Food was expensive, waitress was stressed. Management didn't care. Drunk loud mouthed Goff Balls. The credit card I used was compromised. Not sure if the number was stolen there or somewhere else. Would not go back. Don't pay with a credit card. PLACE STINKS NEVER GOING BACK.

Asked for menus and food but ignored. 3 bartenders catering to one local couple next to us, smell like bo and having a great time socializing with each other. Horrible.

Loved the marathon ale house! Chicken Acapulco, crab/spinach soup, plantain snapper, chicken Cesar, calamari, scallop appetizer, citrus grouper, and the key lime pie were all amazing! Tayla was the best waitress! Late night happy hour can't be beat! Everything was quickly and freshly prepared, and served with a smile. A little hard to find, just look for the gulfside shopping center. Went with a group of 5, all happy campers. Not a typical keys spot, not a shack, better than your standard keys bar and grill. Entrees were large enough to share and come with sides and a salad. Local vibe and perfect for tourists as well. Don't miss this amazing Keys local experience.

Went in for lunch and had the Conch Fritter and Fried Grouper Fillet. Both items were tasty. Waitress was polite and helpful. This restaurant was recently built so everything is still new.

Crap!!!! Coming from a local, this place is not a place I will return to!!! Been there twice, both times had to leave do different reasons like; - Unrelenting advancing from male clientele... - My boy friend, and I quote "every time I come here I feel like I am going to get in a fight", one of the most laid back men I know!! - Drinks not worth price. So, I have hit a point in my life where I can enjoy the good stuff. I call all my cocktails and expect a tasty drink for my higher priced drink. Both times my cocktail wasn't very good 1st Mojito undrinkable - 2nd Cosmo, ok. Each visit was a, one, uno, 1 drink and we left!! - Mediocre service.. First time super slow, but they where new, so we gave them another try... Bartender was better than service, but that may not have been the services fault, they have NO back up help, and staff that gets drunk. - Menu looks good but I haven't heard good things!! Now in all fairness I have only ever eaten there was sweet-potato fries. When the lady at the table next to me took a bite of the salad she ordered, she pushed it away... Beets out of a can, yuck!! - Staff have no clue what they actually have in stock. Not to mention the owners are intentionally replicating the specials of other businesses in town, less than 2 miles away to intentionally take the business!! Not impressed!!! This is a small town and networking is essential, not burning bridges. Just saying I hope they see this!!

Great place for a late night dinner. This bar is tucked away deep in a shopping center to so you really need to know where it is to find it. The food was good but compared to the comps in the area I have had better. The second night we went there they had a terrible band playing live music and it was so loud you couldn't even here yourself think. The weird thing is that the bar has a lounge type atmosphere so why schedule that type of music. Will only go back for a late night dinner after leaving other bars in the area. That is there niche.

Came here the first night of our vacation on marathon and I was a little disappointed. Finding the place was pretty difficult as there were no signs on the building. We did end up finding it by the writing on the windows. The beer selection was decent with several craft and macro selections available. The food was decent as well, I really enjoyed the conch chowder and my mom and sister liked the country shrimp soup. I didn't really enjoy the calamari plate I ordered, but that was not the fault of the restaurant. The mussels and shrimp plates my family ordered were all delicious though! The downside with the visit was the pricing. The main course selection was very expensive and we all ended up going with appetizers due to the cost instead. There were several dishes that would have been great I think, just a bit out of the price point we were expecting. The dining room being mostly empty may be indicative of this. Overall even though the food was good, I would not return here based on the pricing.
