I was in the mood for some rice and beans with some pernil ... and thankfully La Parada restaurant is just down the road. I took the food to go and I was pleased with the results. The portions are huge and very tasty. I like the fact that it is its own restaurant and not a chain. I think the quality of food in those places is always a little better. The only disappointment was the empanada. The filling was minimal, and I mean minimal with tons of pastry. I guess a profit needs to be made and the more expensive item, it kept to a minimum. But happy that it's down the road, and I will be back!

From the greeting we recieved upon entering the restaurant to the home style music playing throughout the place, my experience here was great. I was pleasantly surprised at the generous portions and reasonable prices. This family run business is quaint and put pride in their food. Also the $2 beer is fantastic for the after work drink we all need sometimes. I will coming here for dinner most frequently and you should too.

OH. MY. GOODNESS! I heard about this place through a co-worker, I called in to find out their lunch specials, the woman who picked up the phone, was very nice and explained everything. I awaited for my coworker to get back from picking it up. I ordered the beef stew with rice and beans and plantains. Let me just say, the beef was so tender, fell apart and melted in my mouth. Everything seemed to be perfectly seasoned! And for the price, $6 for their lunch special! YUM! So delicious! I would definitely recommend my friends.

Food was delicious! I had rice and beans with chicken stew and my husband had a ham, egg, and cheese sandwich. He also enjoyed the food. Waitress was very friendly. Defiantly returning.

Fells Like home! Place is very clean, lovely staff and amazing food. I recommend everything on the menu with any of the all natural juices. (Parcha, tamarindo, Mamey, papaya, etc). Mangu was the best ie ever had.

Yum. You walk into this place and it is spotless. Always a great sign. We were greeted by a young man and I noticed a doñita in the background, who I assume was the chef. Another great sign. I ordered the pernil (roast pork), yellow rice, black beans and two pastelillos (also called empanadas). The roasted pork was really good. It was melty, just fatty enough and the skin was crispy. Delicious. The rice and beans were also good. I thought the beans could have probably used a little more sazón for my taste, but it was still very good. The pastelillos were kind of disappointing. The beef was mixed with potato and it was kind of an odd mixture. The seasoning was also kind of off. I wouldn't hold it against then, though because we were there at the end of the day and they were the last two left. The service was great. I think this is a place that should not be overlooked. They have a lot of great dishes to offer at reasonable prices.

Having driven by this "new place" several times, each time remarking "We need to try that place...", we finally did that yesterday after church. Greeted by a sign that said "Under new management" on the door, and an empty restaurant inside reminded us just how tough things are all over. We were in an adventurous mood, but trying to stay away from too much deep fried. A beef empanada, a pulled salted pork (with black beans and rice), and some kind of plantain/pumpkin thing (that's not on the menu) later, we were holding our tummies with too much food. And whose idea was it to order TWO desserts any way? Was it the most exquisite meal ever sampled - definitely not. But we tried something we always wanted to, satisfied our curiosity, had food to take home (the flan), and I was barely $21 out of pocket, including a $3 tip even though there's no waiter service. It helped that the beer and each of the two desserts were only $2. They really ought to put a big "TWO DOLLAR BEERS!" outside to bring in some much-needed business (And it was $2 for a Corona! Didn't see any wine, though). So if you're near my neck of the woods, and you're hungry or VERY hungry, and your credit card might be maxed out, you'll get some good food at great value here. Check it out. (review moved to this location at the request of owner)

Went there for the first time today after running some errands and was surprised how good the food was. Not too greasy, and the atmosphere is nice and chill. Great prices for the food too, and a nice staff. I Definitely won't mind eating there again. Oh! and they are veg-friendly too! :)
