We have been looking for a great local pizza place.... And personally I loved it!! We got the prosciutto and a cheese pizza. Both were delicious. My husband was not a fan though. Hopefully he will give it another try! They also gave us garlic knots with both pizzas which were great!

Oh. My. God. It was SO good! I cannot get over how amazing this place is. My girlfriend and I were on the way back from the beach and found this place on yelp, can't disagree with 4.5 stars and 25 reviews and it was still even better than I imagined. Finding the place was a bit difficult, but that was the worst part. First, the place is so cute. It's like an artistic school presentation on Italy; there are godfather posters, a fountain, cargo nets, it's very kitschy, but adorable. Then they brought out the garlic knots. Not only are they actual knots instead of just garlic bread, but they are probably the best I have ever had, perfectly cooked, yeasty, great amount of butter and garlic, a wonderful start to an excellent meal. I had the chicken parmigiana sub, it was not only delicious, but it was huge! I had to sit up in my chair to take the picture and used the fork for size comparison, I couldn't finish it and that is saying a lot. My girlfriend got the pizza and it was also humongous even for the small pizza. The pizza was pretty good, a little too herbal of a sauce for me, but I'll gladly trade that for the best knots and sub I've had in a LONG time. Lastly, I would be remiss if I didn't mention all the other little things. The bathroom was super clean and had cologne and deodorant in it if needed, the food was very reasonably priced and the last and certainly not least, the service was AMAZING. Best service I think I have ever had. I am pretty sure it's the owners as the cook and the waitress and its clear they really care. They were so thankful and happy to have us be so happy with the food. In this day and age of restaurants as investments it's nice to see at least one mom and pop shop be able to combine financial security with a strong desire to leave their customers full and happy, and man am I stuffed and ecstatic. Thank you Luna's, thank you for such a great meal, I will be back!

I was passing by and I happened to see it in the plaza. So I decided to stop in for a quick to go lunch. I ordered a meatball parm and while I was waiting I ordered up some garlic knots while I was waiting. They were the greatest knots that I've had in a while. The owners were there and just as nice and welcoming add can be. The meatball parm came out quickly and was a really decent sized. The smell of it was so wonderful. I could hardly wait until I got home to eat it. I finally got home and I was not disappointed. It is the best Meatball Parm that I have ever had. The only bad thing was that it was over. They are out of the way, but well worth stopping in. Everything from the food to the service is top notch. I wish they had longer hours.

I have eaten here four times and have had nothing but an enjoyable meal every time. The owners and their daughter are the cooks, and waitresses and are the friendliest people, make you feel at home. The decor is quite different, but unique in its own way, I find it very homey, set up to make you feel you have your own little private dining area. Now to the food, the pizzas are huge, sausage is cut slices not the ground meat you get at a Papa John's. The salads are complete and quite filling, my last visit my date and I shared a Greek salad, and it was quite abundant. First thing brought out are the great garlic knots, however this time they were not very warm or garlicky. When I brought that to the waitresses attention, she took them back, brought out new warm ones, and sprinkled fresh ground garlic over the top. They must be doing something right, their location doesn't scream, here we are, but they have there for 16 years, and in today's restaurant business that speaks for itself.

The owners are just so wonderful and pleasant :) The service is super and the pizza or the calzones are just absolutely delicious!! Try the Luna Meat pizza. Mmm, mmm, mmm!

This place is tough to find! We drove back and forth along 434 before finally calling the restaurant for directions. There is NO way you'd see this place from the road! There is no sign street side (thanks to the construction) and it isn't until you turn into the shopping plaza that you see tiny Luna's on your right. It is in the run down shopping plaza behind Bayridge Sushi. I am glad we persevered... The restaurant is small and adorned with the tackiest, kitschiest decor. Gordon Ramsey would have a heart attack, lol. The ceiling tiles are painted to look like sky and clouds. Then for some reason they attached cargo netting to the ceiling and added some upside down chairs for good measure. The tables are covered with cloth tablecloths and even the lights have cloth coverings. When I walked in it smelled musty to me but it is a smell you soon do not notice. But on to the rest... We were warmly greeted by one of the owners and told to sit where we pleased. We ordered a Greek salad to share and Primavera Pizza which comes with mushrooms, green pepper, onion, fresh garlic, spinach, mozzarella cheese, and ricotta cheese. We also got a generous portion of garlic knots. The salad was perfect for two to share and came heaped with tons of feta cheese. Everything was fresh- from the salad to the mushrooms. Delicious! The other owner, Billy, cooked the pizza and seemed to take great pride and enjoyment in his work. He had a broad smile and gave my son a lollipop. They were a delight. We will be back!

Holy cow, who made the interior design choices. As other reviewers said, the decor choices are a little odd. Its kind of like an artistically challenged Michael Angelo with ADHD and tourettes decorated the place. So close to 5 stars! The amount of food you get I was impressed with. The photo of my salad attached to this review is a small. If thats a small how big is a large. When I came back from the bathroom I asked who ordered the big bowel of garlic knots. No one did. I guess it came with the food. The pizza. freakin enormous. The salad had all fresh ham cheese mushrooms ect, the pizza only uses fresh ingredients as well. My sister-in-law ordered off the lunch menu, 2 slices and a salad. I shouod of taken pics of her slices. these things were massive!! one of her slices was equal to two from our full size pie. I ordered a side of marinara sauce for the garlic knots and that was very good too. a touch of spice and oregano it seemed like. The owners, I assume they're the owners, are super friendly, her accent through me off. I thought maybe Russian, but not quiet. I had to ask. she said shes from yugoslavia. The only reason I didnt rate 5 stars is because of the pizza. its just my opinion so it doesnt mean much but for me personally it was wayyyy to greasy. the dough is kind of thin already, add a ton of grease and you get mush. as soon as I placed a slice on my plate you can see grease oozing out into a puddle under the slice. With every bite I was one step closer to bypass surgery. I recommend going. but finding the place will take a glance around the parking lot. when you pull into where bayridge sushi is look to the right at the far corner of the strip mall. its kind of tucked away and impossible to see from the street. But to sum up, good food and great service, its definitely worth checking out. Im interested to know what their other food tastes like.

For those of us Americans who just can't shy away from an overwhelmingly tasty gourmet pie, this is the place to go. Put those Dominos/Papa Johns/Pizza Hut coupons away. This is not about saving money (though their prices are most accommodating to the young professional, meaning...I am frugal, and still approve) It is about having a delicious dinner to share with friends, family, or your future self when you get back from the gym. Just go...DO IT!

While the overall decor leaves much to be desired. The food is very good, prices are reasonable, and the service is good. If you are looking for good pizza in the Orlando Metro Area, this place is worth a visit...also the garlic knots are DELICIOUS!

My wife and I went there just before they opened for dinner and they let us in early and seated us quickly. The service was great and treated us like we were a part of their big Italian family. Garlic knots were delicious and the garlic itself tasted very fresh. We got two pizzas, one was pepperoni and the other was Bianca. Both were delicious and the serving size was big enough for left overs the next day. If I were just visiting the area and looking for pizza I would never have considered Luna's but the Yelp reviews piqued my interest and I'm really glad they did. I would love to go back again soon.

Very nice mom n pop restaurant. Very friendly staff. Very helpful and honest with their recommendations. Our table indulged with the garl8c knots...which were out of this world! The couple across the table got the large mediterranean pizza. The sauce and crust were amazing. The tomatoes were ridiculously fresh. I got the lasagna which was on par with Stefano's...though I would have preferred the cheese to be a bit more browned, but that is me being picky. All in all a great dining experience. I happened to glance at a calzone at the next table...it was the size of a football!!! Big plentiful delicious food coming out of this little joint.

Love this place. It's hidden away in the corner of a shopping center that looks deserted. The food is AMAZING. The garlic knots alone give this restaurant 5 stars. The pizza is delicious. The owners are friendly and treat you like family. Would recommend this to anyone!

Luna Pizza is a nice neighborhood pizza place with the standard range of Italian menu items...in a creepy plaza. Ignore the surroundings and you won't regret the trip. The owners are quite gracious making sure everyone enjoys the food and gets what they need. FYI, after opening my pizza I noticed a bunch of garlic knots embedded on top so you may not need to order an extra batch. The pizza crust was excellent, the sauce was a little better than average and cheese coverage was very good. The ball-breaker order that I use as a benchmark (stuffed shells for my wife) came through the test with flying colors. Order with confidence and enjoy your visit. I did.

So happy we found this place! We eat pizza often (at least once a week) and usually just order from the typical Dominos or Pizza Hut. Never again! Luna Pizza is so amazing! I had the best and biggest stromboli ever. The owners are so nice and the place is decorated so cute!

Boy, we so wanted this place to finally be our go-to, 5-star, awesomely original, hand-tossed NY-style pizza joint. Really. We did. Honest. Great Yelp reviews led us into Luna's anticipating a delightfully-delicious NY-style pizza. A very friendly couple greet us with warm genuine smiles all around - welcome, have a seat, whaddya have? These folks are obviously the owners - a good sign. We find an open table and eagerly await our finally having found our perfect pizza along with a great Stromboli. Right on cue, after a very reasonable period of time, the nice lady delivers both our pie and our Stromboli to our table. Beautifully prepared and visually pleasing pie. Hot, absolutely overflowing with toppings, a delight to our famished eyes. And right next to our pie sits a humongous Stromboli along with some marinara and those well-reviewed garlic knots. Yippee. Let's eat! Uh-oh. This crust is beyond thin & bread-like; frankly, it's over-cooked. Definitely not the classic pizza dough we crave. And the massive over-abundance of greasy meat, including sausage, pepperoni, crumbled meatballs, and bacon overwhelm this thin crust such that it disintegrates on the serving pan before we can even pick a slice up. Even trying to eat a bite with a fork fails - the result is a greasy pile of what is a pizza-shaped bread combined with many many bits of meat swimming in grease. Yuck. The Stromboli suffers from being nothing more than a tasteless loaf of bread wrapped around several handfuls of pepperoni & sausage inundated with melted cheese. Where's that distinctive Italian sauce flavoring each bite? Nope. Let's recap. The pro's: absolutely the biggest serving of ingredients we've ever seen on a pizza; a huge pie; a monster Stromboli; and wonderful ambience capped by the most friendly owners with very pleasant dispositions. The con's: crust that is nothing more than overcooked bread, not pizza dough that we want. Then this giant loaf of bread is totally overwhelmed with the grease from those same huge portions of the various pizza toppings. Not what we read about from other Yelper's. Not what we wanted. Not even close. Just not a very good pizza. Five stars for our having met two of the most lovely pizza parlor proprietors we have ever met. Minus one star for the lousy pizza crust, minus one star for the greasy pile of toppings that completely eclipsed everything they touch, and minus one star for a loaf of bread masquerading as a Stromboli. My math says we just left a 2-star pizza joint. Conclusion: not very good. What a shame. We're still looking for a real hard-tossed and homemade-tasting authentically NY-style pizza.

I was working in Longwood and checked yelp for a good pizza place. Luna's had mostly all good reviews, so i decided to give them a try. I called in an order of cheese n pep to go. Upon my arrival, the owner open the pizza box and presented it to me (I thought it kinda odd, but...) and he also had 5 garlic knots inside, he said, these are from me. I was like, cool, thank you. I paid for the pizza and headed back to the shop. (On the trip back, I was greedy and tried a knot... Very good) Once to the shop, I pulled out a piece and the cheese was endless. Mmmm. This is one of the best pizzas I've eaten since I been in Florida. Only thing I could say a a negative, was the crust could have been a little more done. Either way, ILL BE BACK !

Awesome pizza and garlic knots, not to mention the sweet couple that owns the joint! They have fully committed to the little Italy theme too, you will get a real kick out of the fountain inside and the paint on the walls.

I'm very impressed with this place. Back corner of the shopping center but it's nice and quiet. As most little places, you never know what to expect but I am very impressed! Very fresh ingredients and a wonderful woman that takes care of you. You can tell they are from Italy (the accent) and their food reflects that. Will be back here for more for sure!

Stopped by on a Monday afternoon to check out this highly rated little Italian place. We were not disappointed. It deserves the 4.5-star rating. Amazing food and very friendly service from real Italian transplants. We got the Bianca pizza with spinach. Although I could have done without quite so much ricotta cheese (just a personal preference), it was one of the best pizzas I've had anywhere in Orlando. The crust is crispy, chewy perfection. My wife also got the lunch lasagna, which we saw came with garlic knots. First of all, the lasagna was very good, but the thing that blew me away was the garlic knots. I was thinking one or two, seeing as it was a lunch special, but nope, the woman who served us (who I think might have also been the owner? Maybe?) brought out a huge basket of at least half a dozen or more, and they were also super tasty. The service was very fast, as well. The only negative is the decor. It's a little on the kitschy/gaudy side. But obviously, that doesn't affect the food.

Still five stars and always will be. This definitely is one of the best small businesses and restaurants in town. We get dinner from here just about every Friday and it always is exceptional. Never had bad food from here and never will. The owners are among the nicest people I've ever met. I can't recommend this place any more highly. If you haven't been, go. I hadn't eaten anything but pizza and Strombolis from Luna's in a while, so this past Friday I deviated and had the baked ziti. (I'd had it before, but not for at least a year or so.) It was excellent. (See the picture I've provided.) Next time, I may try the tortellini or something similar. I've had that before and it also is terrific. The Stromboli may be the biggest hit here, though, in my opinion. If you take a look at the picture I've uploaded ... the Stromboli is enormous ... and I think that the one pictured may even be the small size. I went to Broadway Pizza (in Alt. Springs) several months ago and had a Stromboli and, while it was smaller and thus less expensive, it wasn't nearly as good. Still tasty, but nothing is like a Luna's Stromboli. I get mine with a whole bunch of stuff - banana/green peppers, onion, bacon, tomato and more - in it and it's perfect. It might be a little costly, since Luna's charges per each topping, but it's very much worth it. Seriously, go! Also, as others have said, the garlic knots are outstanding, too.

This place is right in our neck of the woods, so how is it we have never tried it before this? Well for one thing it's tucked back in the corner of the shopping plaza and not easily visible from the road so we never knew it was there. But thanks to the wonders of Yelp it was brought to our attention during a search and thankfully we are strangers no more. Walk inside and you are transported into a kitschy Italian wonderland complete with a not so small given the size of the restaurant Trevi-esque fountain. OK so it's not really anything like the Trevi fountain except that it is, well, a fountain. But you can make a wish just the same. Amidst all this Italian kitsch you'll find the occasional chair hanging from the ceiling and I'm not quite sure what that is all about. It makes me slightly uncomfortable to think of sitting underneath one of them as they dangle there although they seem perfectly secure. This is a family run place and as owner operators they treat you wonderfully. They are friendly, pleasant and efficient and even on your first visit you are treated like a returning friend. You know those restaurants where you go to eat and the staff acts like it's an imposition to serve you ... this in NOT one of those places. You will lose track of how many times you hear the words "thank you" from the owner's mouth. Speaking of mouths, yours will be happy once it is filled with the food. The pizza crust here is flavorful albeit a bit floppy (in a good way) so you may need to employ some folding action in order to get your slice into your face. The ingredients are generous with for example nice chunks of meatball and slices of onion. The white pizza had big dollops of fresh ricotta and fresh spinach. The pasta dishes we've tried are also very good. Their eggplant parmesan is barely breaded so light buttery sweet eggplant is the star not greasy coating. Meatballs are juicy and well seasoned and the sauce is light and fresh. They don't skimp on the garlic knots either. It's none of this one more roll than there are people thing. They give you a big bowl full of knots for the table. And if perchance you have room left for dessert - you have to try a cannoli. She fills them fresh to order and they are truly special. If you are like us and never even know there was an Italian restaurant hidden in the corner of this plaza on 434, take the time to check them out. I think you'll be glad.

Picked up a pizza from here the other night and was pleasantly surprised. The place is very difficult to find if you don't know what you're looking for, I actually ended up at a different pizza place (there are a lot in the area) before calling them for directions. Luckily for me the lady on the phone was very nice and apparently used to these types of calls. They are located in the same plaza as Bayridge Sushi but tucked off in a corner to the right. You can't see their sign or storefront from the road, which is definitely something they should consider changing if they want more business. Anyway once I got there I felt right at home. The lady I had spoken to greeted me like I was family and knew exactly what I was there for. She opened up my pizza box to reveal a lovely large prosciutto, garlic and feta masterpiece. I also noticed she snuck in a few garlic knots! I paid, tipped, and was on my way. The drive home was miserable because I had to smell that delicious pizza the whole way there but it was certainly worth the wait. The garlic knots were some of the best I've had, not too hard and perfectly soft and yeasty on the inside with just the right amount of butter. I'm really glad I tried Luna's and I'll definitely be back. I can't speak for their entrees but the pizza was great. Don't judge it by the way it looks from the outside, just give it a try.

By far the best restaurant of its kind... PERIOD! I always stop by when I'm in the Longwood area and not once have I been disappointed. No matter what you get, be sure to order a side of Garlic Knots. They're absolutely amazing and the perfect compliment to pretty much any other dish on the menu. I had a really sweet waitress last time, too. Can't remember her name but I'll be sure to update you all with it after my next visit. In all, this place gets 5 stars, A++.

I would not have tried Luna's if it weren't for the favorable reviews. So, thank you!! Great pizza and knots. Reasonably priced. And, exceptionally nice people behind the counter! I can't wait to try the Stromboli during my next visit.

After reading reviews online, I decided to give this place a go because I work about 3 minutes away. I was always a little put off because of the way it looked from outside, but boy was I ever wrong! It was everything and more! The owners are authentic and as sweet as can be, and make sure you leave happy and FULL! When you think Italian, this place should pop into your head. The outside of the restaurant is deceptive, but inside you're greeted with a wonderful seasoned smell, beautiful operatic music, a fountain, and lovely Italian decorations. The moment you step foot into this place you feel like home. Then you are greeted by the owners who definitely bring everything together. The place is bigger than you think it is, with roomy tables and booths. Come here with family or bring a special someone. A visit to this quaint little restaurant will have you leaving full and happy! I'm telling everyone I know and work with about it. I think this will be a regular place for me from now on.

How can one go to see The Hunger Games without first dealing with our own, you know ... Thankfully, the perfect antidote is right on the way, and where better than raving fan Mike Z's favorite neighborhood pizza haunt Luna's? Not to try and suck up and influence the stock price, but here's a place I wouldn't even KNOW about if not for YELP (Friday's close, 23.18, dn 0.17%) - even though we go to that Korean grocery store practically "3 doors down" EVERY WEEK, not to mention Bayridge close by. Luna's is kind of tucked away in the corner, somewhat out of sight. We arrived just before 1 to find only one table occupied. The wife and husband team are super cheerful and friendly, something you can't help but notice, and before long, we compared marital longevity (we've got a year on them, and guess what, they'll never catch up!) Even though they had entrees available at very affordable prices (but probably too much food), and the pizzas have been the object of raving reviews (might take too long), we decided on a couple of subs instead. It was still roughly my usual lunchtime calorie intake - just SQUARED!! I ordered the sausage with onions and green pepper, but slightly preferred my wife's cheese steak. And they brought out about a half dozen garlic knots that look as cute as they look appetizing. No way I was going to touch them, tempted as I was. My wife was the brave one, and pronounced them delicious. Toward the end, more tables filled in - a lot of them are on a first name basis. Two subs ($4.99), a cold Peroni ($3.50), and the total after a generous tip is still 18 bucks. What a steal! We want to come back for dinner, but slightly fear the limited wine choices. Still, we'll likely be back soon! p.s. Oooh I almost forgot to mention (well I DID "forget", but now I'll "MENTION") - they have "quaint" bathrooms here. I'm not talking about supremely decked, but it was clean (can't take that for granted); it had soap that's not watered down (don't laugh - this is often the case in some Chinese/other Asian restaurants! Was just at The Thai Corner last week...); they had hand lotion (nice touch), a bottle of Guerlain men's cologne (!! "He sprays, he SCORES!!!), as well as - get this - a bottle of Brut deodorant! Isn't that the cutest? I mean, I haven't even SEEN the Brut name in... FOREVER! The bathrooms were titled "Romeo" and "Juliet". I'm not sure that THAT's such a good idea - didn't Romeo die from something he put in his mouth?

Luna's is a fantastic pizzeria! It's locally owned by a couple from Slovenia. This is easily some of the best pizza I've ever eaten in my life, and the price is just right. The service is great, and the atmosphere inside is fantastic even though the exterior's a little unassuming. It's a little hard to find if you don't know where it is. From 434, turn North into the plaza on Rangeline Rd (with Bay Ridge Sushi and the Karate dojo), and it's the last business in the back-right corner.

  • Jillian K.

Have you ever tried a restaurant based on a friend's suggestion and your experience changed your perception of that person. Yeah, I don't like that guy anymore. Luna's pizza isn't awful, but it's not "the best freakin' pizza ever!" The décor is bad, like a high school Italian teacher's supply closet exploded. It seems somehow more offensive because the owners are not Italian, Serbian if I remember correctly. There's a big ass fountain in a cramped dining room, for no good reason. There are fishing nets hanging from the ceiling, although the closest thing to fish on the menu is a tuna fish sub...and something tells me that comes from a can. We ordered garlic knots, a small pizza, pasta and a side salad. I'm one of those people from the North that moves to South and complains about how you can't get good pizza. This was chewy, and cheesy, and flavorless... like a bagel bite but without the sauce. The side salad had lettuce and tomatoes and very little else. The pasta was linguine with marinara sauce. You can see from the photo that the pasta wasn't even drained properly. I can tell you that even the cheapest jarred pasta sauce from Winn Dixie across the street would have been just as good, and not $8. The garlic knots were the highlight of the meal. I ate them AS my meal and took home leftovers hoping to add flavor at home. The thing that bugged me most about this place is apparently they like you to "enjoy your meal." So once they bring you your food they disappear. They never came back to check on us, or to bring us the check. We had to go to the counter to ask for a check, after waiting a really...really...really long time. Once we where at the counter we were asked what we ordered. And someone had to go back to the table to get our food to box it up. If this is their policy they should let people know upfront instead of letting us sit in the back booth wondering where our server went. Odd place, food was not good, ignored by staff. I'd order the garlic knots again, and go across the street to Winn Dixie for the rest of my meal.

You can't see this hidden gem from the street, but it's the top Italian restaurant in the area for sure. Run by a husband & wife team, he makes some phenomenal pizza, and she will bring the food to your table with a smile and a great attitude. I've heard/read about the garlic knots an in all honesty, I don't know what the fuss is about. Are they good? Yes. Are they great? Meh, not really. What they DO have going for them is they are not sitting in a pool of oil like most other places, and they are clearly freshly made bread- but they are basically just; bread. No garlic to be seen anywhere in the batch I received. The portions in the restaurant are more than ample, and can easily be shared between two people. Authentic food, fresh ingredients, and GREAT service. Worth a visit for sure.

Bad business practice here. They run a split shift, 11am-2pm and 5pm-9pm. I arrived at 1:40pm and they refused to serve us. They said they needed 45min to prep and cook but had already shut their ovens off. Took my money elsewhere.

A note on the five stars - I love authentic thin crust pizza that is on the greasy side. That being said, Luna's does it best, at least on this side of town. Luna's is tucked away in the corner of a shopping plaza where 434 intersects Rangeline in Longwood, opposite from Winn Dixie. This is a small family operation with about 10-15 tables. The family is Eastern European and one of these days I'm going to break down and ask what country they are from, but nonetheless the whole family is as sweet as can be. The salads are very good, especially the Luna salad. The calzones are also mighty tasty. One of these days I'll break down and get an entree that is not circular in diameter...

We ate at Lunas for the first time last night. It was so good, we ate there again tonight! Best pizza I've ever eaten, which says a lot since we eat it twice a week religiously. Garlic knots are great, too. Best of all, its family owned and operated. They're all extremely nice, friendly and have good attitudes, which as you probably already know, is rare for restaurants these days. If you like pizza, don't miss this place...

Probably my favorite restaurant in Longwood. As previous reviewers have stated, the owners are friendly, portions are huge and food is top-notch. The garlic knots that are served with the pizza are almost as good as the pizza itself. Try a stromboli!

Luna's is always a good place for an Italian meal. The owners are Eastern European, not Italian, but are entertaining, friendly and make good hearty meals.
