I've been to golden Thai many times. I have to say their food is inconsistent. I tried almost everything on their lunch menu, and my favorite is Penang. I usually get their lunch combo ($2 extra), you get Tom kha Gai soup as well as 2 egg rolls with your choice of lunch entree. I like "hot", but some days, I guess depends on the chef, it's either too spicy or not spicy enough. Also the restaurant is small, try to avoid going there between 1230 -1 unless you wanna wait for a table.

I love this place. I've never had a bad meal or experience here. Crab Rangoon is excellent Pad Thai, excellent Tom Yum tofu soup, excellent Crazy meat (vegetarian with tofu), amazing! Love love love

Golden Thai Restaurant is located in Longwood at 434 and Rangeline Road, in the Winn Dixie plaza. After reading some good reviews I headed out to look for a better Thai option when I'm at my office. Thank, Yelpers! I placed the order over the phone, when I arrived it was ready for pick up in the promised time. Bagged up and all was nice and warm when I got back to my office. The restaurant is a nice, tidy little place, had quite a few people there when I stopped by after the lunch rush. I was greeted promptly and the lady was very nice as she cashed me out. I ordered Panang Curry with shrimp and tofu, spicy and an order of Spring rolls. Spring Rolls were OK, I'd skip them next time as the filling flavor was not to my liking. Not greasy, so big plus there. The Panang curry was good, nice flavor and appropriate heat. I bit more coconut milk and it would have been great to balance out the slight saltiness present. There was a nice amount of tofu and large shrimp were tasty. Lots of well cooked, fresh veggies! Would order this curry again and will be back here to check out some other dishes for lunch.

I come here almost once a week for the lunch special. About $10 gets me a huge bowl of red curry, rice, soup and spring rolls (red curry meal + combo). Sometimes their curry is inconsistent. Its always good, but the flavor is sometimes different than normal. They add pineapples which I surprisingly enjoyed. Their Pad Thai is not as flavorful compare to other Thai restaurants but it is still good. Other non curry menu items are a bit salty, but I'm so happy with my curry choices that I leave my review at 4 stars. They also are very nice and always treat us well. If you are unhappy with your food just tell them, and I'm sure they will make it right.

Decent food with very reasonable prices. I had tom yum gai and pad see ew. Only thing I did not like Snagit the pad see ew was I could taste garlic which conflicted with the sweetness of the sauce. That being said the food came out streaming hot showing freshly prepared. Will definately be back

I get Phad Thai chicken takeout for lunch often. Generous portion and well priced. If you like real spicy, make sure to ask for extra hot sauce. Spring rolls and dumplings also good. Always quick and hot. My favorite Phad Thai of the 3 (!) Thai restaurants in the neighborhood.

Golden Thai saved my life! There was a time when I was suffering from depression and was contemplating ending my life. Thankfully, my friend took me to Golden Thai and the experience from the ambience to the delicious food to the hospitable and personable service turned it all around for me. I go there every week and I recommend them to everyone I know who hasn't been. They take care of you and make sure everything is perfect each and every time. The food is some of the best I've ever had and would be devastated if they ever closed.

REALLY good Thai food. Another spot that I was hesitant to try. It's in a dirty strip mall. Food is awesome. Cashew chicken is my favorite. Savory sauce with just a hint of sweetness. The chicken is tender and the cashews are crunchy and delicious. My husband loves the Garlic Meat with beef. My toddler even likes the food.

This is the best home cooking Thai restaurant in the Orlando metro area. I'm not sure how anyone could give this restaurant a bad review. Everything is amazing. Appetizers: crab Rangoon, veggie spring rolls and cucumber salad are my favourites. The satay is also very good for sharing. My entrees of choice switch between panang shrimp, to green curry tofu, and chili jam chicken. All are great flavors, and most of the time I have leftovers. I'm not much of a leftover kinda gal but this is among the "tastes even better on the second day" kind of place. Love it!!

Meh. I've got takeout a few times now with various curry offerings, pad thai, basil stir fry and all were just alright. I guess Thai Delight has spoiled me for fresh and spicy Thai offerings. The Krab Rangoon was good, I will give them that.

Not quite what I was expecting. The good reviews made me think I was in for something spectacular. Maybe i am just spoiled. Went in for lunch and had the chicken masaman curry special with a thai iced tea. It came with soup and spring rolls and my bill was ~ $15. The masaman was weak compared with others I have had. Spicy, yet also rather bland. It was missing a key ingredient I can't put my finger on. Thai iced tea was also just OK, seemed watered down. Soup and spring rolls were good. Maybe people have had better luck on other days with other dishes, but I give it two stars,

I have been two a few Thai places and so far my experience has been good in all of them. Golden Thai Restaurant is one of them not only is this place very clean and very nice inside but the service is great also the two employees that were working were extremely friendly and if you asked what they recommend they had no problem telling you the different options. The place it self is kind of hard to find , it is located on 434 in Longwood right next to a Winn-Dixie near the hospital, it is special hard to locate at night but if you cant find them and they will be more then happy to give you directions. To begin I had an Appetizer, I ordered Thai Spring rolls (4) and the number 43, Phad Panang and that is Spicy Thai curry prepared with coconut milk, bell peppers and squash and you can get either chicken, pork or beef and I got chicken, not only it was fresh and delicious it was not to spicy and the taste was wonderful you can tell they use fresh ingredients and they make it when you order. I got all that food for $16.00 bucks (including tip) and not only I was treated like a king but I ate like one too. The food came out very quick and i was always checked on to see if I needed anything else or to have a refill on my water,I can not say it enough the staff is wonderful and can not wait to go back and try something else on there menu I am pretty sure i wont be disappointed. They have an extensive menu with Lunch specials from 11am-2.30pm Monday -Friday and they offer everything from Curry to Vegetarian meals and Noodles and Fried Rice on the side and Soups. To drink there is your choice of beers from China,Japan,Thailand or American beer and they even offer wine. I was in and out pretty quick and the place it self was not jammed packed so ordering was easy and getting good service was not a problem.

The food was okay. I have had better meals, but I have also had far worse. I ordered the Phad Panang (spicy curry with coconut milk, bell peppers, and squash with chicken), "Thai Spicy", but it was very mild. It was good enough to go again to try something else on the menu, but not good enough to rave about. The service was friendly, and the restaurant was clean. I will update this review if I am "wowed" the next time I visit.

Very good food! Had snow pea/onion/broccoli chicken, and husband had pad thai. Both were delicious and we would return!

We love Thai food a lot, so we have to have a few really good alternatives to cover the times when owners take a month or so off to go back to Thailand. Ergo our visit to Golden Thai restaurant! We came here to check it out when our favorite, Thai Villa was closed for one those extended vacations. We were not disappointed! We have definitely found another favorite Thai restaurant. My favorite Thai dish is Chicken Chili Jam and Golden Thai does not disappoint. My husband had a curried scallop dish that was terrific as well. Their portions are generous and service is very friendly. Try it out you won't be disappointed!

Had a couple of good dinners here. Made the mistake of ordering take out tonight so I could bring it back to my wife at work. Simple order, two pad thai hot with tofu and a thai salad to go. I should have noticed when the total was around $20 that they had not heard the order correctly. When I show up there is one table in the place finishing and no other to go orders up. When I arrive I am told the chef thought I was eating in and the salad was already dressed and cannot be replaced because it's the only salad they have...at 6 PM. I then notice there is only one "hot box" of food and realize the order is short. I tried to explain, but I believe it was lost on the gentleman. They were nice enough to give us two side hot chili sauces, which I later realized was because the order was not spiced at all. So all in all for $20 and a simple togo order I ended up with a box of soaking wet salad and barely enough mild pad thai for us to share. I am usually hesitant about ordering food to go in any circumstance and only do so when it's a necessity. For that I got burned. I am going elsewhere for Thai from now on.

Golden Thai is excellent. Their Tom Yun Kha soup is the best in town. The curries are all great as well.

Golden Thai is a pretty small, hole in the wall place. The decor is nice, and the service is pretty quick. We ordered the spring rolls and dumplings which were both good, and I had the pad pong galee. I wasn't a big fan of the pad pong galee, but everything else was good. Overall, a good restaurant, but if I go next time I'll try something different.

A decent little Thai restaurant tucked away in a depressing Longwood strip mall. The Pad Prik Basil was great. The real delight was the Sambal Tofu---definitely the best & most authentic preparation I've had. Make sure someone in your party orders this dish when you're there or you will miss out.

We love this place! Even our 2 year old daughter loves the curry and she is quite selective! The portions are good sized and the flavors are wonderful. My favorite dish is the Vegetarian Crazy Meat, the cucumber salad, and the angel wing. The food is awesome and our family enjoy it. As a person who doesn't like spicy food, I can almost always eat the crazy meat. It has unique flavors and textures and I really enjoy the combination of colors, flavors, and consistency. I highly recommend it!

I've been looking around the Orlando area for a good and safe Thai restaurant for a while, and I've found it here. Located in a shopping plaza with other stores around, it first seems like a little hole in the wall. When you walk inside, the decor is beautifully captivating, one wall holding up some pieces of handcrafted artwork, and the other wall having mirrors to reflect the beauty of the authenticity and also making the restaurant look bigger than it is (it's a decently small space with maybe ~10-15 tables). It is cute, homey, and definitely designed with good taste. The atmosphere is a low-key, unjudgemental one where you can walk in wearing whatever you want, and they'll make you feel right at home. The server (and possibly owner) was on top of refilling water at our table as well as the other 2 parties in the place, and kept on top of our needs. By the time we left, 4 other parties had walked in, which gives me the impression that many people also think this place is awesome. The food was simple and delicious, and just what you'd expect from a family-owned, unjudgemental, and delicious Thai restaurant.

Thai is the magic word with me. This is a pretty nice little place, with a large menu. I ordered from the lunch specials, opting for the combo, which adds a cup of soup (can't remember the name) with a lemon vinegar broth, and chunks of onion, mushroom, and chicken, as well as two spring rolls. The soup was very good, even though I'm not a big onion fan, and the spring rolls nicely cooked, crispy and not just filler. For the main dish, I had red curry with beef. Very good, with not too heavy basil flavor, lots of matchstick vegetables, tender beef, and plenty of sauce, which encourages me to eat way too much rice drenched in sauce...and then suffer the accompanying food coma. Recommended as a change from the usual. If only this place was in downtown Chicago...I would visit frequently. Please note that it's entirely coincidence that the two restaurants I've reviewed in Orlando have also been reviewed by Dale T. No relation, I don't know him.

Good service, clean, and an unexpectedly nice decor for being located in a plaza strip. I'm not a big fan of Thai food, but this place is close enough to my job for me to grab a quick & satisfying bite for dinner. I usually order the Panang Tofu and I'd recommend adding 1-2 dollars worth of extra tofu for a heartier meal. Haven't explored the full menu as yet. They will close early on slower nights so be sure to call if you plan on dining in.

Where is the sixth star? I want to pick that one! We have been eating at the restaurants of these owners for nearly 20 years. They first opened in St Petersburg. Then they moved to nearby Pinellas Park - and we follwed them. We went one day and they were GONE! Lucky us, we found out the had moved to the Orlando area. Longwood is a little under 2 hours from our home, but we still make the treck here from time to time just to eat here! Having lived and travelled thoughout Asia, including Thailand, I can say this is honelty the best Thai food I've found this side of the Pacific! I't's not on the menu, but ask for Shrimp in a Cloud. They may or may not be able to prepare it on the spot depending on how busy they are and whether or not they have everything needed on hand, but if they do WOW! IT IS FOOD OF THE GODS!! A MUST VISIT if in the Orlando area!

Great food, great little hole in the wall. ...wait..when you go inside it is not a hole in the wall at all. Great decor. Only been there for lunch, but have tried Angel Wings, Pad Se Ew, Pad Thai, Pork Fried Rice, different curries, Chicken Eggrolls, Summer Rolls. I can't say I've have a bad meal there in the many times I've been. Dafe

Great Food. Very good quality and tastes great. You can tell ingredients are fresh. We ordered take out and it was given to us in sloppy containers. So beware of that. However, the yellow chicken curry, cucumber salad, Spicy Shrimp, and Sweet & Sour Chicken were all really really good. The Thai basil rice with pork was excellent too. We ordered it spicy and ate leftovers the next day. WOW. Very good. When we have eaten there the place is clean and food comes fast. I docked 1 star because of the sloppy containers and that they got our order wrong when we called it in.
