I am so horrified to read the other reviews (re: roaches) after knowing I ate here yesterday afternoon. Ick! I'm a fan of hibachi restaurants in general, so when my coworker suggested we eat at Osaka, I agreed. The lunch specials are inexpensive and include salad, rice, and vegetables, so it seemed like a good deal. I ordered the shrimp and steak. The chef started out with the fried rice, which was basically white rice with soy sauce and an egg on it. It didn't seem like a real effort was made with that at all, and I did not enjoy it. I noticed when the chef was cooking my shrimp that the shrimp were not properly cleaned. They had all been butterflied, but not deveined. I found myself trying to clean them out on my own so I wouldn't have to eat that part of it. As others have stated, the meat was basically stew meat and not great. The service was spotty. I barely saw the server and she had a definite attitude. I was almost afraid to ask her for anything. Overall, not a place I would be willing to come back to.

One Saturday I spotted a carpet cleaning truck outside the restaurant. It appeared they may have been shampooing the nasty carpet..... Thinking they may have cleaned the place up a bit a co-worker and I returned. During our return visit we were overcome by roaches coming out the hibachi. The chef tried to create a diversion by lighting the opposite end if the table on fire. I guess he thought nobody would see the roaches??

As other reviewers have mentioned, it's a dirty restaurant. Lots of roaches that can be seen all of the time. There's visible grease Coming from the hood vents. I'm surprised it hasn't been shut down by the health department. I feel bad for those who work here and worse for those who eat here. Gross.

Osaka in Leesburg is probably the cheapest Japanese food you will find anywhere, but don't expect it to be the best. Overall it is fine for the price and I keep returning. I come hear regularly to satisfy my Japanese cravings, but the biggest issues here are the old and dark feel to the place. The Food is hit or miss, but usually fine and worth the money. I also like that they do not up charge for fried rice and allow substitutions on the rice, noodles, and vegetables. I absolutely hate it when a Japanese restaurant charges extra for fried rice, but Osaka is included. Water is OK here if you want water too but you will need some lemon to mask the chlorine taste. It can give you the feeling it is dirty since it is dark but the cooking surface is clean and does the job. Some say they've seen bugs but I haven't and I have ate here at least 30 or more times over the years. I'm sure every restaurant has a bug once and a while but I've been lucky to never have seen one here.

Osaka reminds me of the movie with Chris Rock and Jackie Chan...When Chris says ..."Can you understand the words that are coming out of my mouf?" especially...Be prepared for minimal communciation and spotty service. The "early bird" steak/chicken special is made with STEW MEAT. We sortof like their white sauce...unfortunately, they make you wait to fill a teppanyaki table before they start cooking...we've waited upwards of 40 minutes before they started cooking! Once you are served and begin eating the cook cleans up and splits...and thats the end of your service! If you want more to drink, extra sauce or have any needs - forget it. Sushi is excellent, unfortunately, I had to file for unemployment before it arrived! The Japanese Steak house in The Villages is much better

When we first discovered this diamond in the rough, I almost called the place mom as it was always cooking our dinner. This is the go-to place for work lunches for birthday's. It seems Floridians love their Japanese Steakhouse's as there are a plethora of them in Florida. We have been to just about each one in our surrounding area and always come back to Osaka. It's not the most elegant one as it seems a little dirty but the food is superb and their white sauce is the best yet! Just close your eyes when you're eating or stare constantly at the chef. Also the portions are much larger than any other steakhouse we've been to.

Our chef was great! Very entertaining and very talented! Food was plentiful and definitely go for the 'white sauce' and I recommend skipping the noodles at the end of the meal prep. You should not walk away hungry from this place and the price is definitely right!

Horrible service. I think these people don't know what s smile is. More so there was a cart of dirty dishes next to us eating when we finally got to eat. I asked the waitress to please move the cart somewhere and she looked like she didn't believe I asked her to do so! Then she moved it behind the next table over. Overall it was a bad time I'm never going back.
