A-MAZING! I ventured in here as I was leaving the beach and I have to say it was a great experience. When I walked in the woman working the counter was busy with another customer. (She was working alone) however, she still acknowledged us which I appreciated. When it was our turn, I asked for the names of about 2 doughnuts. She responded with a smile and said -"I'll tell you them all!" Awesome because they werent labeled. So I went with the red velvet. It was hard to chose but I wanted to pace myself. I brought the doughnut home and ate it later that night after popping it in the microwave for about 10 seconds. DELICIOUS! I will definitely be back!

We went here this morning to give this place a try. The customer service we received was excellent, 5 stars easy! The donuts were ok. Since it was our first visit, we got 6 donuts for 2 of us to share. We ended up with a red velvet, maple bacon, Oreo, s'mores, glazed with sprinkles and a salted caramel. Hands down, the red velvet was the best. For a cake donut it was light and airy and the frosting was fresh and delicious! The maple bacon donut was probably next for me, although it looks and tastes strangely similar to the ones Big City Tavern serves with brunch that are "made from scratch on property" the salted caramel was neither salty or caramel tasting to me, my friend thought it tasted very generic. The others were just OK. The glazed with sprinkles was our least favorite. This could have been due to the sprinkles. My friend got a coffee and thought it was good. Hands down the service was the best part. The gentleman working the counter was super nice and took the time to explain each donut to us. He went over the different ingredients that makes them unique, pointing out when fresh fruit was used, like in the apple fritters. It was a great explanation. Oddly, our 6 donuts came in a giant pizza box! We looked pretty funny carrying it to the car, especially since it was half empty. We sampled all the donuts and have about half of each one left. We will finish them off at some point today.

We'd had Rhino doughnuts at some Yelp events and they were really good, 5 star all the way, so we decided to stop by when we needed a morning snack. It was midmorning when we dropped in, so we were a bit surprised that the place was empty and there wasn't much selection. I understand the morning rush concept, but a donut shop shouldn't be nearly out of goodies by 10:00 or so. Since there weren't a lot of choices, we went for an apple fritter and a pecan sticky bun, both of which looked really good. The sticky bun was average in size, the fritter was huge - easily big enough to share. The problem was that they were both on the dry side and didn't taste really fresh. The cinnamon sugar coating on the fritter was great, but there were hardly any apples in the dough. The bun definitely needed more of the brown sugar, butter "goo" that makes the sticky bun what it's supposed to be......sticky! Maybe we just hit them on a bad day, and I know how good they can be from our event experiences, so I averaged out my stars. If I'm down there again in the morning, I'll be glad to give them another try and just order the regular doughnuts.

This place has dropped some stars. I just paid 2 bucks for a stale donut!!! I will not be coming in hereafter noon again. The donuts are worth two bucks when they are fresh, not when they have been sitting there for over twelve hours. Probably going to cut back my donut consumption from this place because of this. Krispy Kreme makes donuts fresh all day, so I will probably go there. And they are half the price! I originally gave two stars but changed it because two dollars for a stale donut is not worth any stars. Don't know how to get rid of the last star

Fantastic Donut Shop @ Lauderdale-By-The-Sea! SITREP When traveling to another city, I really love being able to take advantage of the "local flavor", and it doesn't get any more FLAVORUL than hitting Rhino Doughnuts. [I have to give *mad propz* to my fellow Elite Yelper buddy Ashley M. for turning me onto this spot! Thank you!] THE SETUP Located just a stone's throw away from the beach, there is constant foot-traffic at this location since this block-area is a hub for several restaurants and boutique like shops. *KITSCHY* is the word I would use for this entire area. FOOD PORN Oh.My.GOD! Just walking into the shop and looking at the window displays of tray upon tray upon tray of donuts, and pastries, and fritters, just made my mouth EXPLODE in anticipation of wrapping my mouth around one of these babies! APPLE FRITTER I zoned in on the Bear Claw which is what we call it back in Sacramento, but here it is the Apple Fritter. IT WAS SO GOOD! With my coffee, it all went down so smoothly and energized me for a day of events ahead of me. THE LOWDOWN Rhino is the donut that comes charging at your mouth, oh yeah!

Honestly our donut selections were just okay. We picked the creme brûlée and the Heath. The Heath was delish... Loaded with candy bar pieces, but the creme brûlée tasted like a regular ole glazed + filled donut.

Why 4 stars? Because these were some creative little donuts. --- --- --- One of my favorite things about Rhino was the fact that it was a trendy little local business, situated amongst a monopoly of tourist traps - something typical in Florida beach towns. In the Tampa Bay region, as with most beach-y areas, you just don't see a lot of that. It's probably one of the top reasons that I don't live super close to the beach. My favorite donut from Rhino was the maple bacon, because obvious. I tend to take the wildly unpopular opinion that bacon is a bit overrated, but the combination of bacon + maple + donut = magic. Here's a lesson for you, especially if you're over 30 and normal: don't eat donuts for breakfast. In my formative years, I could do this on the reg. But now that I'm old and stuff, donuts are strictly a dessert cuisine. I almost felt like I was stoned, for a couple hours, due to the unsafe levels of blood sugar. Ah, to be young again.

National donut day and no donuts. I placed an order days in advance so I would not get caught without... I arrived at 7am and was told the bad news: no donuts until 8 (Apparently they don't make the donuts here, so they are waiting in a delivery). So I left and came back at 8am... Nothing, not a single donut in the place. The poor girl at the counter could only apologize (she is very nice by the way, and as helpful as she could be) since she tried calling and texting the person with the goods... Radio silence. A day planned for fun and sugary goodness turned into emptiness and disappointment.

Staying in an Airbnb condo in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea for Yelp Spring Break 2015, my home base was North of most of the action. I was, however, only a short walk down the street from Rhino Doughnuts and Coffee. My 1st morning in town, upon groggily waking, I searched on Yelp for coffee. Rhino was it. Apparently, there's a dearth of coffee in this immediate area. Hey, that's OK. I could use an extravagant donut with my morning cup of joe. Strolling in shortly after they opened, I was greeted by display cases full of creatively festooned circles of fried dough. Decisions, decisions, decisions, decisions, seriously. I settled in on a Maple Bacon donut. Of which there were 2 varieties: plain & custard filled. I got the custard filled. I figured, in a place like this, you gotta go all out. I also got a Mocha. Service was friendly, fast & I was right out the door with my fabulously fattening treat. Sinfully salty & sweet, that Maple Bacon donut + a Mocha was just what the doctor ordered to get my slow morning moving. For a decadent bite to eat & coffee in the morning, Rhino Doughnuts and Coffee really did the job.

The donut craze has officially hit South Florida, and Rhino Doughnuts have jump on that bandwagon in the most innovative way! I heard and tried these doughnuts at a Yelp event first, and I was instantly hooked on them! I mean how can you go wrong with donuts of all kinds, flavors and sizes??? We all know that whoever says otherwise, just has no heart!! (jk.. maybe) I wish I could give a review on a specific time I've been here, but I can't because everytime I come its better than the past one, and everytime I go there is always something new. I will say though that my favorites so far have been the Strawberries and Champagne, Guava and Cheese, and the Peanut Butter and Jelly. They are all so creamy and very well stuffed so you can actually taste all the components of each donut in every single bite you take. Now, what I love about this location is that is not only in the middle of everything in by the beach, but here you will also find coffee and other pastries like cinnamon buns and pecan buns, all which are equally delicious. The service in this place is also phenomenal, I swear everytime I come here I am treated like a queen and greeted with nothing but smiles and good attitudes. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone who is a donut lover.. trust me, you won't be disappointed

I am all about the doughnuts and always make sure to try doughnut shops while traveling so this trip was no exception. After hearing from a few people that this was the place to be we headed there! First, I love Lauderdale by the Sea! What a cute little shopping and beach area! Rhinos was easy to find and I absolutely loved the decor inside the shop. It was crisp and clean and the doughnut lights were adorable. I had a small (also known as a 'Big') coffee with soy milk which was great. I had the chocolate ganache doughnut and it was delicious! The doughnut itself tasted great although it was a little greasy. The chocolate ganache topping was sticky and yummy! I will definitely be back on the next trip!

Donut lovers UNITE! Not only is this location perfectly located on the beach, it is delicious! I prefer these donuts over Yonutz to be honest. They have many flavors and they switch it up day to day which is a sure sign that they only have the freshest of the fresh. I came here a few months back craving an iced coffee and a donut. I got the reese's donut and an iced coffee with soy. I was pleasantly surprised because my cofffee was SO GOOD! I don't like trying new coffee because starbucks has my heart but the coffee here is excellent. And my donut was delicious. It was moist and not too sweet. I have been back and will continue to be a repeat customer. They are so worth checking out! Now let's talk about opening a Rhino in Hollywood/Pembroke Pines?

Love it! Love the way the store is decorated, hip, cool, inviting! Love the doughnuts! Im all about the weird, maple bacon-yummy light bacon flavor and i tried Boston Cream-cause i like it They have a good dough, not too light or too heavy Will look for you anytime im in the area!

I heard so many good things about rhino doughnuts and being a avid doughnut eater who has one a day I was super excited. They were really pretty but I got the fruity pebbles one and when I took a bite....it was super stale that I put it in the bin. Very let down

What can I say, despite all the competitors that make donuts, the art of Rhino donuts is by far one of my favorites. I found out about them at a Yelp event, and that was love at first bite. Their wide selections are crazy combinations that keep this place fresh, and make me feel like is my first time every time I go there, since they always have something new. For example, do you know they have a donut drink and every week is different uh!! Scratching your head!? Well it is correct this past weekend they had their piña colada drunken donut, and two weeks ago there was a strawberry champagne(talking about innovation). They also have their classic donut for delicious, my favorite ones are bacon maple and key lime pie...they are perfect. I really love this place my favorite location is the one on Lauderdale by the Sea, although they have multiple ones. Go visit them and go Rhino crazy

What crowd pleasers the doughnuts from Rhino are. We recently enjoyed a dozen of these lovelies over at General Provision and everyone really loved them. They are a delight for the eyes as well as the nose and tongue. Broward needs more awesome little shops like Rhino.

Don't even know where to start with this place. I'll start with my favorite-get the peanut butter and jelly donut! I absolutely love PB&J and putting it in (and on) a donut is genius. Walked by this little donut shop and loved their logo, their interior, and the colors inside. Everything had this gorgeous upscale donut shop motif. Very modern and beautiful with little donut print on the lamps and a beautiful "donut lady" picture on the wall. Inside the store, to the immediate right, is a wall of display donuts with name cards to show the flavors available. So back to the donuts. I came in the evening and I believe after 5 PM their donuts are currently 50% off because they are from earlier in the day. I really found them all very fresh and wonderful. I enjoyed them in this order; peanut butter and jelly, the Miami cream, and guava and cheese. The Miami cream, it was like a soft whipped cream pudding cloud in my mouth! The glaze on the Miami cream was reminiscent of a Napoleon with vanilla glaze and chocolate drizzle and the inside was just this intense creamy goodness. Way better than a Boston cream that I've had other places. If you're in the neighborhood definitely check this place out I was surprised at how fantastic The donuts were.

I did enjoy the doughnuts. I live in down town Miami so not a ride I will be taking all the time. I was expecting the bacon flavored doughnuts to have more bacon or more bacon flavor. Would recommend if you are in the area.

It's time for an update! I've been back to Rhino more times than I can remember and I must say - they've figured it out. The growing pains of any business are to be expected. Granted Rhino only had very minor things to tweak in my opinion - but they have...and they are hitting a homerun for me now. First - the donuts. Maple Bacon - they now have one that's filled and not filled. This is awesome for folks who just don't like custard. For me...the custard one is great. Have yet to try the non-filled one though. Guava and cheese - they've tweaked the way they do this one since the last time I came and I must say - IT'S PERFECT NOW. The guava and cheese are separated INSIDE the donut - rather than mixed together into a filling - if that makes any sense. To me eating them separate - but together....is the best way. Loved it! White Chocolate Coconut - still my favorite. Creme Brulee - they do a great job with this one. My wife's favorite. I often times take a bite out of here ;D The iced coffee is still great. A little light on the sugar last time, but I flew out of there before trying it...could of easily been fixed (and was when I got home). The only down fall of this place is the location. Parking is super tricky during season. So get there early - or plan to park and make a day out of it since you'll be lucky you found a good spot. They also started their expansion so they have the Boca location open already - that's an option too (and I think I'll try it next time!)

You say Donut, I say Doughnut! Here we have a strong opponent in the race of doughnut shops in South Fl. and I must say that it is one of my favorites. The decor and vibe is fun. Once you enter the doors you will immediately be drawn to the right side as there is a wall full of examples (for viewing and not for eating). There are so many options that you will probably forget what you want before you get to the counter and make your order. Let me tell you... These are not Krispy Kreme size doughnuts, these doughnuts are huge. Everything is made from strach (excluding the gummy bears and oreo cookies which are used as toppings) and you can taste the difference in quality. I have tried a number of there selections but my favorites are Cookies and Cream, Coconut and Plain Glazed (I'm not adventurous as others in terms of taste, lol). One thing that I appreciate about the doughnuts is the frosting, it doesn't melt and become all wet. I like my frosting hard and crispy with the doughnut being soft and this place accomplishes just that! I actually ended up speaking with the owner (David) who is a pretty cool and honest guy and gave me some insight as to what Rhino Doughnuts is all about which made me appreciate the business even more! Be prepared for parking situations as this place is right next to the beach, I have been lucky to find parking each time. This place is pretty far from me so I'm looking forward to them opening other locations as they will be doing pretty soon. If you enjoy doughnuts, you'll enjoy this place as these are not just your daddy's doughnuts there gourmet doughnuts! FYI: They had various types of blueberry cake doughnuts when I recently visited!

OML! So, as the story goes (and hang with me here as I'll attempt to make my point in a couple of paragraphs) I will typically jog Fort Lauderdale Beach on a Saturday and/or Sunday morning. It's absolutely beautiful as the sun is rising. Calm. Relaxing. Scenic. This morning, I had a change of plans. I was reading Yelp reviews about this new doughnut shop on Commercial and A1A. I wanted to get my seven miles in, and finish my route near Rhino so that I could, ya know, check out the goods. I know! I know! It defeats the purpose of jogging if you're going to snack on some doughnuts directly after the jog. I get that ... and I have no viable explanation. I ordered six doughnuts. Notice that I call them doughnuts. Rhino's tag-line is: "You say donut, I say doughnut." Yes! Dough! As in, very chewy dough that serves as the foundation. The toppings are rich and creamy. In particular, the PB&J doughnut is incredibly delicious. The peanut butter is the richest, smoothest and creamiest peanut butter you'll ever try (and the folks at Rhino sprinkle some roasted peanuts on top for good measure). The raspberry jam in the middle is like real jam. So good. It's like PB&J with the crust cut off. Ha. The creams they spread on top of the doughnuts are so creamy. The fillings they inject inside are very flavorful, including the sour cream filling. Listen ... I love Mojo and Dandee, but this place jumps to the top of my "Best" list for doughnuts. I strongly recommend making a visit. Check it out for yourself. A little more expensive, but you won't be disappointed.

Moved here from a place with several excellent "artisanal" donut shops so I was excited to see one here. Had free time one morning so I stopped in about 11am on a Thursday to give it a try. There was one guy working there and all the donuts were on bakers racks behind him so I couldn't tell what they were. He seemed put out when I asked what flavors were available. There were only 6 varieties so I tried 2 of them. A cream filled and a chocolate frosted. I'm sure they had catchy names but they weren't memorable, just like the donuts. The quality was terribly average, the price was really high and they were much bigger in size than they needed to be. Combine that with a location that's often difficult to find parking and I haven't been back.

Donuts in inventive and delicious flavors!! Finally a donut shop takes the concept of fro-yo/ice cream flavor varieties and applies to donuts! I read about this opening in June and had to try it. We stopped in after lunch nearby on a Saturday afternoon. The beach was packed, so I expected a long wait, but I was pleasantly surprised to find only two other customers when I walked in. Decor: Rhino's decor is modern, with clean lines and minimalist furniture. The donut display is crisp and inviting- cleverly showing off the day's flavors and beckoning you to buy them. Donut Options: The girl behind the counter explained that the donuts are made fresh everyday just a few blocks away and delivered first thing in the morning. Most flavors varied from day to day. Several of their more popular donuts were served daily- including Maple Bacon, Salted Caramel and Peanut Butter & Jelly. A few donuts with alcohol were served daily as well, cleverly named "Drunken Donuts". The options seemed endless! My husband and I couldn't decide and let several people go ahead of us. Finally we decided to share 4, with each of us choosing two- I picked the Salted Caramel Glaze and Creme Brulee with Cream Filling. My husband chose the Snickers Topped Donut and Peanut Butter & Jelly. Creme Brulee: The Creme Brulee Donut was MY FAVORITE! The glaze tasted exactly like creme brulee and the frosting was decadent and creamy. The donut was soft and moist with just the right amount of crust. DELICIOUS! Salted Caramel: The Salted Caramel was ok. The caramel tasted overcooked for my taste and the donut wasn't as good. Snickers Topped Donut: The topping did not taste like Snickers at all. The donut itself tasted like a chocolate topped donut, very similar to what you get at other donut places. Over all, nothing unique, but tasted fine. Peanut Butter & Jelly Donut: This was literally a typical jelly donut that you find elsewhere with peanut butter frosting and peanut crunch on top. The PB Frosting MADE this donut-- it was very good. This was my husband's favorite. Will definitely stop in again to try some of the other flavors I heard about.

Doughnut lovers need to check this spot out. Maple bacon, white chocolate coconut, blueberry, chocolate cake, guava and cheese, and it just goes on. They whipped up a caramel frappuccino after I seen a couple on the counter in the back for their employees. The guy behind the counter was actually nice enough to make me one after he said it was just for their employees. The service was great and the place is clean.

Who would think to open a doughnut shop on the beach? That's what I was asking myself as I drove to Rhino, the new hip doughnut shop on Lauderdale on the Beach. I found this rationale absurd. People at the beach want drinks, burgers, ice cream, hot dogs, etc. Coffee and doughnuts? Well... let me tell you what is going on down there. To put it simply, Rhino Doughnuts is setting the beach on fire. The shop is small, only a few tables, and all is decked out in shades of gray. Several coffee machines brewing Rhino coffee (bold or medium) sit behind the counter, a few rolling towers stacked with trays of donuts, sorry, doughnuts, empty boxes, juices, and a lit display of available doughnuts. Conveniently, there are tables outside for those who want a tan with their purchase. The doughnuts here are yeasty in their majority. Some have fillings, although most are covered with either a glaze, a topping, or a combination of both. Also available is a pastry called the "Rhino horn", which is like a cronut, muffins and apple fritters, a unique cinnamon sugar covered cronut-type pastry, and cinnamon rolls, though I didn't see any. So the doughnuts. They're good. Most use the same base, a soft, chewy, airy dough that is not too sweet and does not taste much of bread, or dough. On top of this, you have many toppings. The doughnuts I picked up had peanuts, M&Ms, pistachios, guava glaze, in house Nutella-type spread with bananas, Snickers chunks, and chocolate among other things. Then you have filled doughnuts. I got peanut butter and jelly, guava and cheese, s'mores and crème brulee. The fillings are all made in house also, even the marshmallow for the s'mores doughnuts. But the one doughnut that blew my mind was the maple bacon doughnut. I have had bacon donuts before, and truly, I am not a fan of a cold strip of bacon on top a sweet pasty, because cold bacon normally tastes like lard instead of bacon. Plus, it tends to be chewy. I had declined the maple bacon doughnut, but the person helping me insisted I try one, on the house, at no charge. I accepted, and I was shocked. This doughnut is filled with some type of panna cotta type filling that is delicious by itself, toped with a maple glaze and caramelized bacon that is crunchy, salty, and bite size. Not soggy bacon, not oily bacon, not chewy bacon. Truly a work of love. The maple bacon doughnut is the one item that sets the tone here. These doughnuts are gourmet quality. Attention to detail is very important, but taste and texture are the priority. Rhino Doughnuts and Coffee is just an amazing place, and these doughnuts are the best thing on the beach... besides bikinis.

Just had the s'mores AND glazed with butterfingers doughnuts. Yum! First had them at the taco food fight Monday night and loved them. I like the small size they gave out as samples - not as much of a diet killer. But hey the regular size is defiantly worth it once in awhile. The best doughnuts I've ever had were at Voodoo donuts in Oregon. Rhino's doughnuts definitely a very close second. These doughnuts are worth the drive. And I'll be going back to try all they're flavors!

This place just gets better and better each time I visit. I frequent here because I live close by and my puppy, Loki, needs to be trained around people and Lauderdale-by-the-Sea is such a dog friendly place. Today I got the chance to meet one of the owner's and he was awesome enough to chat with me about their products, their initiative and innovation. It's so great to see such a proud owner who is excited to share his products, knowledge, and ideas with customers. I ordered an iced latte, the Miami cream, the Crème brûlée, and the cookies and cream doughnuts. They were all phenomenal. The Miami Cream is a fancy version of the Boston Cream and it's topped with white chocolate instead of dark chocolate. It's just smooth and pleasant to the palette. In the way that I mean it's perfectly sweet and it isn't overwhelming. But I have to say, the Crème brûlée still is my top favorite doughnut. It's all the Crème brûlée flavor and crunch, but with dough involved. The definitely speak my language here. The best thing about these doughnuts are the fillings. I've never had such amazing, interesting and unique flavors in a doughnut; and their all made in house. Their doughnuts are not insanely sweet, and I love that fact. The coffee is ten times better than the first time I came here and they are still working to improve it. But I would say this is one of the best coffees I've had lately. And the service... I cannot even find the words to tell you how sweet and personable they are. This is such a huge change from the first time I came here. And I am so exuberant to say that I'm loving the Rhino. Oh, and the biggest tip I can give you is that they are stocked with all sorts of unique flavored doughnuts from Friday - Sunday because these are their busiest days. So if you want some really unique doughnuts (like drunken doughnuts), come by on these days before 2 PM. I know I need to, I have yet to try one.

Really tasty doughnuts!! I had the Miami Cream doughnut and it was awesome!! Seriously the best cream filling I've ever had in a doughnut. It wasn't your typical pudding-like filling but instead something out-of-this-world! I definitely recommend. My only wish is that they have more of a selection of doughnuts. They only had a handful of choices available.

I think I was his first office stop, he's trying to win my affection with food... it might work too!!! They were delectable. I'm going to have to go to the store now to try the other ones...dang. Toppings included: pink coconut, peanut butter, chocolate sprinkles, rainbow sprinkles, BACON!, pistachios, & Oreo Cookies (see my pic)

Opening day!!!!!! $1 donuts, muffins, and coffee this weekend. Grand opening is set for June 17. I have been watching this place be remodeled to turn it into this donut place for months. Today it finally opened and I was the second customer! They are currently running on a limited supply basis. They had about 6 flavors of donuts to choose from today. They will have a full line up in the coming weeks. Staff is very friendly and excited. There is outdoor seating. They will be opening more stores around Broward in the coming weeks. There is street parking that is metered out front or you can park a few blocks away on a-1-a and walk a few blocks . Today I had the oreo, maple bacon, glazed, and chocolate with sprinkles. They will have cake donuts in the future, but today they were all yeast donuts. My favorite was the maple glazed with a maple filling. The bacon is fresh and crispy. The oreo was neat too. It has a white whipped topping with oreos crushed on top. The glazed is super sweet. The chocolate frosting is really good flavor. I am excited to try their cake donuts and cinnamon rolls. They also have their version of the cronut I must try. This place is definitely worth a visit!

Delicious delicious delicious donuts! The filled donuts are more like dessert, but you know a good donut place when the glazed donuts go down like a warm sugar pillow. They're unique, and the apple fritters are great and as big as your face. Just get there early--on holidays their donuts don't last. I highly suggest the Guava & Cream Cheese, and if you have a sweet tooth, they actually flombé the Creme Brulee donut.

I've had their donuts at a couple Yelp events and when I was down by the beach I had to stop in to try some other flavors. They seemed to be on the expensive side for donuts but I got a caramel pecan roll and an apple fritter. Both were quite large with the apple fritter taking up two small plates with it hanging over the single plate. The pecan roll came out warmed and gooey. It's a cute little place next door to a froyo shop so after eating donuts you can get froyo if you're still hungry. They have a wall of donuts of the day so you can pick out which flavors you want. I have to say the maple bacon donut is my favorite. I mean you can't really go wrong with a donut that is topped with bacon! I don't know if I would make a special trip down to the beach to get donuts but when I'm in the area I would stop to see what the daily offerings are.

I seriously had THE best key lime donut here! First off I sometimes find key lime products to be too tart but I found the flavor of this donut to be perfect! It was subtly tart and sweet. Normally creme filled donuts overwhelm me after a few bites due to the sweetness and texture of the creme. I definitely have eaten some pretty gross creme donuts before. The creme in Rhino's key lime donut has the perfect sweetness and dough to creme ratio. I also saw that they have drunken donuts and I'm totally going back for those!!!!

Anyone who knows me knows that I don't even really like doughnuts. Well, I suspect that's because the only places I'd ever had doughnuts were Krispy Kreme and Dunkin Donuts. So, I was wrong. I don't hate doughnuts...just crappy ones. Rhino Doughnuts has made me a believer...It's just sad that they're so far from me. Would you be interested in opening one up down south?!?! Pretty please?! Miami, YOU NEED MORE INDIE DOUGHNUT SHOPS. My favs are the Key Lime and Smores. It's located in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, which is an adorably little beach town/spot. Staff is friendly and willing to help you choose new flavors if you're unsure of what to get. I love this place, didn't get to try their coffee, but I will next time!

I went here hoping to get a cronut, as it's one of my 10 things to do challenge. (I found out that Dukin Donut just debuted their version but I decided to go for a likely better version.) To my surprise I was told that it's not cronut season now. Pumpkin donut I can understand... but cronut season.... most interesting. Walking in, I'm pleasantly surprised by the sleek and modern interior. But wait! Where are the donuts? Then I notice that they have all flavors displayed on the side. All there, on the shelf, tempting you. Seriously, it's not easy suppressing my urge to pick them up or give them a squeeze. Do they sell showroom models at a discount? And the empty spots makes me wonder what I've missed out. Although disappointed about the cronut, I really enjoy my 'Smore and salted caramel ones. They don't have as many varieties as Mojo, and parking is more hassle, but the flavor, texture, and presentation all gets full points in my book. Glad to know they'll open another one in Sunrise soon. Hopefully they'll eventually make their way across the county line!!

I saw a write up about this place that gave glowing recommendation. I don't believe the write of that article knew what a donut is supposed to taste like. I ordered the salted caramel (recommended by the shop clerk) and my son ordered one topped with M&Ms. The salted caramel flavor was lacking in salt or caramel flavor. But what's really disappointing is how stale the donut was. In fairness, I was there at 4pm on a Thursday. So maybe they taste better fresh. On the plus side, the 2 clerks that worked there were super nice and friendly.

I had a sweet craving and was in the area of Rhino Doughnuts. I have been following Rhino doughnuts on yelp for some time now and have always been amazed at the pictures that are posted. While I love Dunkin Doughnuts I do not feel it is fair to compare Rhino to Dunkin. Rhino is your exotic high end doughnut bakery. The folks at Rhino have a unique creative side. The doughnuts are like mini cakes with a ton of flavor. The bakery is clean and the decor reminds me of a upscale bakery you would find somewhere in LA. I had the snicker and white chocolate doughnut. The doughnut was sweet, lightly glazed with white chocolate and snicker crumbs. Every bite was amazing. My wife had a s'more doughnut, i actually think I liked it better than a s'more. My visit was late in the afternoon, even with the time of day the pastries were fresh and delicious. Be sure to at the display on the wall by the front door, they have all the doughnuts available for sale and it is a great visual menu. I will defiantly be back!

I really was hoping to find a nice place by the beach so I can sit down with my laptop and enjoy the view and sea breeze. This place is not it. Actually, I don't think any place fits what I want on Lauderdale by the Beach. I didn't give it 3 stars because of that of course, I just wanted to state my disappointment is all. Wait, let me stomp my feet while I'm at it too. Ok, done. Onto the actual review. Sorry for wasting the last 5 seconds of your time. Would I be a total douche if I said it tasted like a donut? Seriously though! What was I thinking? I was all like oooo a donut place by the beach! Must find and try! Uh...it's a donut. Did it wake up the fat kid inside and send him to Heaven? Almost. Like...30 steps on the stairs. Hey, you know what, 30 steps is pretty damn good for a fat kid to run for a donut. Did the amount of sugar send some signals to the brain for an upcoming heart attack? Oh definitely. So by all definitions, it's a good donut. Would I ever be crazy enough to walk around Lauderdale by the Sea in circles searching for a donut shop again? Never. Btw, walking in circles on Lauderdale by the Sea is because I'm a total idiot and missed the donut shop a whole 5 times. I thought it was a retail store. Heh. Imagine that. Chocolate icing bikini. Perv moment? Yup! And that's how I'm gonna leave the review. Sue me.

Rhino makes excellent doughnuts, but get there early. They tend to sell out of the best flavors of the day by lunchtime. Staff are super friendly and the doughnuts themselves are delicious! Lots of crazy flavor combinations to try. Yummy!

I hate to say this but, step aside Mojo Donut, I have a new favorite doughnut shop in town and it goes by the name of Rhino doughnuts. Came here at 10am on a Saturday morning and managed to grab the last rhino horn(cronut.) Only 3hrs of being open and just like that no more cronuts. I wish I could compare this to some other cronuts out there but for my first try this one was pretty good. I wish it was a little flakier like actual croissants, but at least it was not over whelming with sugar. That pretty much could be said about all their donuts by the way, which is why I like rhino doughnuts to begin with, all their doughnuts don't assault me a sugar rush. My personal favorite is the maple bacon, but unlike all the other maple bacons I've tried this one had a surprise custard filling in the inside, another perfect blend of salt from the thick cut of applewood bacon and the sweetness from the custard in the middle just felt like an added bonus to this perfect doughnut. The same can be said about the creme brûlée that also had a custard filling, so good. Davin was really helpful on our first experience at this new establishment. Aside from giving personal recommendations and listing popular items. He suggested to try the iced coffee latte and made it to my liking. Highly recommend he makes your coffee. I can say I was extremely satisfied with my caffeine fix for the day. Tip: The earlier you get there the fresher the doughnut. Also, rumor has it, that they are creating a cake doughnut and beer doughnut that will be working its way on to the menu very soon. Somebody ship one to California for me.

Gourmet doughnuts. If breakfast is supposed to be the most important meal of the day, then why not sugar it up and fry it. Rhino is new in town, but I'm definitely impressed. The first time you walk in here you will feel like a kid in a candy shop (it would be too obvious to say kid in a doughnut shop). In the front of the shop they have their various doughnuts on display. This will help survey your potentials and you'll have to start formulating a plan of how to eat so many donuts in the near future. Doughnut options: Maple bacon, chocolate bacon, creme brulee, peanut butter & jelly, pistachio, reeses pieces, guava and cheese, apple fritter, a CRONUT (dubbed the rhino horn), smores, toasted coconut, strawberry coconut, and more more more. It doesn't end there! There are also muffins and huge cinnamon buns. What have I tried? -Cronut. My first venture in the cronut world because even though the rest of the nation got the memo, Florida is behind in the cronut craze. I liked it. The texture was fluffy but bread-y and the glaze on top was in perfect proportion. These are also on the large side and very shareable. -Maple bacon. A very solid maple bacon. Not as potent on the bacon compared to other versions I have had, but maple icing is done well. And surprise! There's a custard filling. -Pistachio. I think it's pretty safe to say that I love all things pistachio and this did not disappoint. Love the real pistachio nuts on it. -Apple fritter. I've always been an apple fritter type of girl. I always felt like it was the most bang for your buck when my parents would take me to get donuts. This one was average. Given the options, I'd stick to the cronut here. -Iced coffee. Davin made our coffee just right. I always get scared to try new coffee places that the coffee will have that bitter aftertaste. This was just caffeine goodness all around. What I love? The doughnuts are not overly sweet. You'll have plenty of bold item choices on the menu, but the flavors are tamed enough that you can finish your doughnut and not feel an immediate cavity coming on. Now these are pricier than your run of the mill donut spot. A dozen runs about $18, and that doesn't include the specialty donuts like the cronut or apple fritter. But despite paying a little bit more, I think the price is worth it! My word of advice: don't order with your eyes/stomach. You'll end up with one of everything and an extra maple bacon!

Delicious donuts! Every one I've tried so far has been delicious!! My favorite so far is the maple bacon! We got there before the donuts arrived so the girl gave us a discount for waiting :)

My mind says victoria secret model... but my heart says white chocolate glazed donut with perfectly toasted coconut shavings, shoveled down with an iced hazelnut latte. ah, the struggle. it was the lack of gourmet 'doughnut' shops that inspired these two business men to launch rhinos. you should know, everything's prepared in-house with fresh ingredients, none of that frozen or pre-made sh*t sold at other places. they pride themselves in delivering quality & flavor. and man, did my maple bacon donut explode with flavor. straight fire. so was guava creme, not to be confused with guava and cream cheese. this one's filled with sweet, tangy guava custard topped with sugar rocks that melt in your mouth. what can i say? i'm cuban, it's part of my DNA. it's a shame they aren't located closer to me... or perhaps a blessing.

I was walking in downtown Ft Lauderdale and noticed a coming soon banner for Rhino and decided to see if they had any other locations since the banner made me crave a good donut. I called and they told me about their commercial location and I told them I was on my way. The guy on the phone asked if I was coming for the donuts and he said to please come in the morning as they only make one batch and they usually sell out by noon. I am glad he told me as he saved me a trip. The next morning we got up and headed out to lauderdale by the sea. There was no line and we walked in and viewed the wonderful selection. We chose 6 donuts and sampled them all, they were delicious! The coffee and cappuccino was good too. The store was bright and clean with ultra friendly staff. The branding and boxes and materials were also very nice and eye catching. I had a great experience and would return!

I don't usually like donuts, but I loved the donuts here. My sister and I got a half dozen so we'd have breakfast for the next morning and a few desserts throughout the day, because why not? We got the key lime, creme brulee, s'mores, strawberry cheesecake, vanilla frosted, and cookies & cream. They were all amazing. My sister also got iced coffee, and returned several times during our week-long trip for it. The decor inside is really cute, and everyone who works there is nice and friendly.

I stopped by Rhino Doughnuts to pick up some treats for the ladies in my office. I wasn't very impressed by their selection, and the store itself was very barebones and unappetizing. Plus you have to pay to park?! Maybe I'm spoiled by Mojo Donuts, but Rhino was a big disappointment.

The whole concept that they don't make their doughnuts in house is kind of weird, the doughnuts just sit around all day and I think I got a not so fresh batch. They were pretty good but nothing out of this world or worth driving far for.

*Friday night 8pm Door closed and cleaning the store* Friend-Oh what time do you close? Rude young blonde (RYB)-When we sell out of donuts!!!! Friend- oh ok that doesn't really make sense. We saw you on deco drive you guys must be so busy. RYB- Well actually no that was on Tuesday and today is Friday, so not really. Friend- Do you have the drunken donuts? RYB- Well if you would have been paying close attention you would know that that was just a preview and they are not out yet!! Ended up just getting the pecan roll which was okay. Couldn't even handle the horrible tone and bad customer service attitude to be in the store any longer than we were. Will not be returning although I live 2 minutes away.

I tried the Maple Bacon, Chocolate sprinkles and the Cake donut with cream cheese florets. Hands down the Maple Bacon with maple custard filling was the best doughnut I have EVER had!!! The bacon was crispy and the filling so decadent, amazing! The cake one was too dry for me. I was hoping it would have the moist cake texture but it did not and I had to throw half out. The same with the chocolate sprinkles donut, too dry, again I only could do half. I am looking forward to trying the Cronut and the Coconut with White Chocolate....and of course another Maple Bacon. :)

Overall: Doughnut itself was dry and tasted old. We were walking around the beach, and on our way back to our hotel decided we wanted a snack to bring with us. Rhino Doughnuts drew us in - their store display is very attractive and they have a great way of showcasing all of their doughnuts. Their flavours are a little more trendy than traditional, which is a great way to try something different. We went in the evening, and to be honest, were disappointed. The doughnuts were not very fresh and tasted dry. It was so ordinary we never went back to try it again. Sure, the flavours are nice and are different, but you still need a good doughnut itself and they were not that great. Being that we went later in the evening is no excuse - if they cannot produce a quality product while the store is open that's a huge problem because it shows the overall commitment to quality. It tasted as if the doughnuts were baked 12 or more hours ago.

Fun location for hanging out and then going to the beach. Very hip and modern branding. There are not enough coffee shops in Pompano Beach area that are not chains so it was really refreshing to see such a fun hub with some of the best coffee I've had in the Fort Lauderdale area. I got to chat with the owner and the coffee is so good because it's a custom blend from Boston. I would give the coffee five stars. The doughnuts looked appealing and fancy. I ordered about eight doughnuts a cinnamon roll, but the doughnuts were not a tasty as they looked. However, the cinnamon roll was the bomb-diggity! Dandee doughnuts are still the best doughnut shop in town. Hope they will beef up coffee menu. They have a awesome thing going there.

This place is amazing. The inside makes you feel like a child adult and the doughnuts will do it to you even more! We grabbed 2 dozen and got every flavor. Snickers, pbj and bacon doughnuts. The pbj was my favorite, whipped peanut butter on top filled with jelly. It was delicious!

Great new addition to LBTS. Stopped in to see if they could compete with the local champ Dandee over on Atlantic. Lattes were on point, very nice espresso machine. Donuts were also tasty with a great variety of choices. I would have to say the maple bacon was the star of the show. Their choice of donuts is impressive. Also worth mentioning the staff was extremely friendly and attentive. Very nice decor to boot. If your looking for some creative pastries and a great latte this is your spot.

Great donuts and a great location. Not much seating inside and a little outside. The staff will go over all the flavors for you and they will tell you their personal top picks. The maple bacon and the like ( I don't remember if it's a margarita or key lime flavor one.. Sorry!) are my faves. They have coffee drinks, milk and water as well.

Not a fan. This place is definitely overrated. Maybe I'm biased because I'm from a small Midwest town filled with wonderful people and delicious Amish bakeries, but it wasn't even the doughnuts - the coffee was blah too. Doughnuts and coffee have been around for a loooooong time, but they are definitely a big trend right now. Maybe it's just South Florida that lacks the service aspect, but man if you go to Chicago or New York and walk in to a 'trendy' specialty doughnut and coffee shop, you better believe there are going to be passionate people working there. When I walked in to Rhino, I was 'served' by a girl who never smiled and reeked of 'hating-her-life'. I'm already overpaying for a trendy doughnut and sub-par coffeee, I'd rather not have to pay for someone to scowl at me while I ask for the doughnut. My iced coffee came with hardly any coffee in it, it was the color of milk. Oh and two ice cubes.......Then the doughnut was raw. Like not 'oh there's cream in the middle so it's a little doughy'. It was runny dough with the stuff in the middle. NOT GOOD. I want to support these new places, especially because Fort Lauderdale lacks in the 'cool' factor for restaurants and shops in comparison to cities of it's size in other states or even Miami. But this place has to step it up.

Found this place because of a review I saw on the news about their unique donuts. I brought my relatives and they fell in love with this place because of its selections of donuts. I tried the chocate glaze with real bacon and it was delicious. The place is located right on Commerical and walking distance from Lauderdale by the Sea. Great place to just chill drink coffee and share the different flavors that this place offers.

Don't bother. Expected something special. It wasn't. Atmosphere of the place was very cold and sterile. Donut display was sad. Most importantly, the donuts were not up to Dunkin Donut quality. BORING!!! Bob T. Ft. Lauderdale

Now I've been here and Mojos donuts! So let's compare... Mojos - in a strip mall with lots of parking Rhinos - right near the beach with awful parking. (Poinciana and Commercial has a lot and not too far from the shop. Bring your change for it) Mojos - Donuts are displayed behind a glass case and you have as many minutes to choose as there are people in front of you. Otherwise you're holding up the line... ruuuuude! ;-) Rhinos - the wall of doughnuts! Quite ingenious to put selections on the wall labeled so you're not holding up the line. Mojos - nice interior, very large with a couple of couches and coffee tables. Rhinos - small interior, I could barely maneuver my jogging stroller. A few high top tables and two tables next to the window. Mojos - One fancy donut $1.45 Rhinos - One fancy doughnut $1.99. I had heard they were expensive but comparing to Mojos, just a few cents of difference. Now I don't really see a difference between the tastes of Mojos and Rhinos. They are snazzy donut shops and I like the fact that there's no after taste like you get with DD or KK, so I'm good with either donut option. I had gotten the white chocolate and Key lime pie and saved some for Hubby to try. His take on the other hand.... Mojos - Fancy on the outside, plain on the inside. As well as overly sweet. Rhinos - Not overly sweet, he was impressed with the filling on the key lime. He says he needs to actually go to Rhinos instead of my just bringing him a half eaten doughnut. Very helpful staff, the girl was really kind to my friend and I and our babies. Only issue I have is the dumb shirt (I assume) Rhinos uses as a uniform. Two strategically placed donuts with the caption of "my eyes are up here" and an arrow. Really? Sexualizing donuts is the way to get more customers? C'mon, how very low class and degrading to your female staff. If she just happened to pick this shirt out herself then Rhinos I apologize - but I highly doubt it :/ SO! I believe it comes down to what type of mood you are in. Do you want to have leisurely coffee with a friend and catch up? Mojos is your place. If you want to grab a donut, walk along the pier, take a peek in a few shops and spend some time on the beach then head to Rhinos!

I got three donuts from here, the bacon maple, strawberry cheesecake and s'mores. The bacon maple and strawberry cheesecake were delightful. I don't suggest the s'mores are it was only ok. A little pricey at just over $6 for three donuts.

Meh! Not impressed. I'll save you the time and direct you to Mojo Donuts in Pembroke Pines. From the presentation to the donuts I was not impressed at all. And I definitely wasn't impressed with the expensive price either. They just weren't soft and moist like I expected "chef made donuts" to taste like. They didn't have much of a variety so I pretty much picked whatever they had available. The attendant was very friendly I must say, but their donuts don't make the cut for me.

  • Jonathan M.

I've come here twice and it's been a let down. The doughnuts are mediocre and don't taste fresh. I don't think this place has enough traffic so the doughnuts just sit there on the rack the entire day. We've come here twice at around 7pm. Still no cake doughnuts after this long being open? Failure. Their coffee tastes and smells so off. It basically smells completely burnt and tastes almost like there's burnt paper in it. I've had many different coffees that I buy fresh and grind myself and not once has any coffee EVER smelled and tasted like what they serve here. I asked the worker behind the counter to smell the coffee and her reply was "that's what coffee smells like." Nope. One other thing is that they obviously brew their coffee and let it sit too long in those big containers that keep it warm. I don't think I'll be coming back.

Pretty cool little place right the beach -- my favorite was the key lime pie donut with the peanut butter and jelly one as a close second. We bought a dozen donuts to share with my father in law for Father's Day (he also loved them!) and paid $18. So they're fairly priced - coffee was great too. Will be back!

So I really want to like this place but I have to describe my two experiences at Rhino at Lauderdale by the sea... I work at an office close to this store and I like to bring in snacks for the people in my office. I have come twice and been here right at 7am. Both times the place was not opened until around 7:10am and when the door opens the person is putting out coffee and nothing is set up. Then there are like 5 shelves of donuts. I wanted to come in and pick up a few dozen... Both times there were no more boxes that hold a dozen donuts and there was only one person there. It would take forever to get all the donuts I need. I am sure the donuts are good because they look ok but I like donut joints where there is a wall of donuts with people grabbing them and fresh coffee and several people there to serve you. I wish this place luck because they are opening a few locations in SouthEast Florida but I will not be back.

We walked into this donut shop the night before. One of their employees quickly offered us to sample one of their many donuts...super friendly & professional. As promised, we returned the next morning for breakfast ordering the pecan cinnamon roll, banana pecan muffin, nutella donut, sprinkle donut and maple bacon donut. All their staff is super helpful and over accommodating...they even held on to the donuts we purchased while we sat on the beach. A must try donut shop!

While awaiting their Boca Raton location to open I traveled down to their Commercial Blvd location located in Broward County practically on the Beach. Parking was a pain but that was to be expected. Got there mid-morning and almost all varieties were already sold out. Mixed and matched what was left and got a large dark roast coffee to go. Coffee was quite good but (not) exceptional and the Donuts were rather large and filling, very fresh and actually very good. Now, a Donut is a Donut, right? Go to Canada or several US locations and experience a great Coffee and Donut without having to exceed your Credit Line on your Charge Card at Tim Hortons. In Texas or in Houston, Austin, check out Shipley`s Donuts, as good if not better. Even Day & Night Donuts located in many locations as a smaller chain have great affordable Coffee & Donuts at (non) Gourmet prices. If you`ve got a "Boca" mindset and pocketbook, go, you`ll be happy. If your live locally here in SO PBC or Northern Broward, hit Dandee Donuts in Deerfield Beech on Federal Highway or their main Store on Atlantic Ave E in Pompano Beach and I`m sure you will enjoy your Donut experience just as much and you actually might have change left to buy Lunch or Dinner later. Too bad most of us are left with only Dunkin Donuts pre-frozen garbage are our only Donut monopoly!

You have to understand, coming from New York City, I swear by the Doughnut Plant. It's quite honestly the best donut in America, hands down. I'm looking for something to match that in Florida, and I thought I found it when I heard Rhino Doughnuts were incorporating a chef to create their donuts, I was expecting a lot. I wanted to really, really like these donuts. Matter of fact, the maple bacon was delicious. The flavors in the toppings were pretty good. But I have one problem, and it's huge: the actual yeast is not tasty. I'm more a fan of cake donuts, but I love the yeast donuts that melt in your mouth(like Publix glazed.) If they tweak their yeast recipe, I'm sure that I will go back and fix my rating. Until then, I will continue my search!

Their donuts are just okay, a little too dry for me. I will say though the glazed donut was perfection! Best glazed donut I've ever had. All of the others (Candy/Bacon Maple/Death By Chocolate) were just okay.

  • Robo P.

I've been there several times (takeout) and always find some super donut I didn't notice before. They have a variety of insanely good donuts with candy bar coverings. The apple fritter is the best ever, but ask about everything you order. The fritter comes topped 2 ways ( cinnamon and sugar, or white glaze). Same with the huge, out of this world cinnamon buns. The menu is just a guide so ask what's on the rack that day. My only dissapointment so far was the too-heavy cro-nut. As for the overcrowding, it's not crowded in the summer (some Sat. mornings excepted). I've been there at various times between 8:30 and 10:30 and never had more than 1 person ahead of me. He was buying 8 dozen assorted (probably a cop) so I got a good look at the wide variety!

The donut I had was delicious...made.with actually fruit... and the decaf coffee very good as well (it's hard to find good decaf). More than anything the two girls in the shop were super sweet...answered lots of questions...and properly recommended exactly what I was craving. Great employees make for a great business. Thanks for a sweet Thursday morning!

I genuinely do not understand where the positive reviews are coming from. This place served one of the most disappointing Cappuccinos I ever had. The funny part was the response when asked if the help knew how to prepare a cappuccino and the firm yes .... Needs to improve, sorry for the negative review.

First time at Rhino but it will certainly not be my last! I came in with my wife and grandma so we decided to try a few. We went with the Peanut butter and jelly, frangelico, guava and cheese and maple bacon. Our favorite was the maple bacon doughnut! Sweet and salty it was everything we expected. The guava and cheese was good but living in south florida I expected more guava and closer to a pastelito flavor. The frangelico has a nice hazelnut flavor and the custard was nice. Peanut butter and jelly was my second fav. Great place will come back to try more when they open their new location out west!

The donuts were sub par along with the coffee. I wish I would have saved the time and money and just went to dunkin. Way overpriced for simple boring donuts. It's pretty much a tourist trap. Will be sticking with dunkin from now on.

Just discovered this little donut wonderland near Aruba. Donuts are 50% off after 5pm and still tasted fresh. They were out of two flavors I wanted to try but there are so many other options I didn't even miss them. Got a bunch of flavors and haven't tried them all yet but the maple bacon was delicious! I ate it on the way home. The blueberry cake donut was classic and fresh. Also got smores, creme brulee, pumpkin, m&m, and salted caramel and can't wait to try them. I didn't get coffee because it was late but I look forward to trying the coffee drinks some morning when I make it there. The girl who helped me (Bridget) seemed to really enjoy her job and offered valuable donut opinions. It's nice to go somewhere where people like what they do. Rhinos is a great little addition to the area and I look forward to returning soon.

My boyfriend brought home some coffee and sweets to taste since we've been excited for Rhino to open! I can't speak for the service or decor but he said the gentleman who helped him pick some was very nice! We tried the maple bacon and nutella banana. The maple bacon reminded me of pancakes, very interesting! The nutella banana was how you would imagine such a dreamy combo to be! The doughnut was BIG (but not impossible for one doughnut loving person to have alone...) Not the most fresh I've tasted but we really enjoyed both! We saved a cinnamon bun to enjoy tonight for dessert! Looks amazing! The coffee was really good too! We both drink it black and they were easy to drink. They're more of an experience, we'll definitely try different ones once the Riverwalk location opens up! Always down to support local business over places like Dunkin!

Tried this yesterday... Really cute little shop. Modern. They have a wall of all their donuts so you can browse in awe before you have someone hovering over you to order. It was scrumptious! I got a s'mores donut (AMAZING!) and my friend got an ice coffee and peanut butter & jelly donut. All was delish. It was just under $7- not bad considering the amazing breach location. Must try!

What a cool concept Rhino is offering us! Located in the heart of Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, this place is easy to find. I visited this place after 5:00 pm one evening and discovered all of the tasty donuts were 1/2 price! I ordered the s'mores, strawberry and chocolate bacon donuts. The s'mores is definitely my favorite. I plan to go back soon to try some others. Eventually I will try the coffee as it smells so good. Way to go Rhino!!

How do I say this...oh well...let me not be something I'm not...this place is OVERRATED...I heard so many good things about this place...and when I got here finally..it wasn't that great! So so. Apple Fritter was good. All the donuts seem to be the same for me other than the toppings. You only have one chance to make a good first impression. The person running the counter seemed clueless despite the fact the place was empty. Won't be rushing back.

Mediocre overpriced donuts. Cookies and cream has no taste whatsoever. The two that I did enjoy were maple bacon and s'mores. I had to repeat myself several times ordering a medium regular ice coffee and large bold ice coffee (this doesn't include asking for cream sugar etc). When I asked about a certain filling of a donut the employee had no clue. You have one job...and that is to know the donuts you are selling. I paid $19.00 for a half dozen and two coffees. Better off going to dunkins or Krispy for half the price.

Don't understand the hype. The donuts were light and airy but not overly flavorful and that is the best part of my review. The coffee is mediocre at best and is served in the cheapest cups imaginable. The coffee cup was like holding the coffee with my bare hands. The bathrooms were filthy and cheap napkins were provided in place of toilet paper. The service was totally disinterested and $11 for 4 donuts and a medium coffee is very high. When we asked how much a half dozen donuts is the employee who looked like she was still awake from last night and in the same clothes she wore yesterday had to ring up 6 donuts to calculate the total. Had an excellent morning with friends at this establishment. We were curious about the gourmet donuts so we shared a half dozen which I have put in order starting with the most delicious: maple bacon w/custard, regular maple bacon ,creme brûlée, Miami cream, s'mores , salted caramel. My friend ordered a coffee and since they had to brew a new pot from scratch the owner's son who rung us up threw in a chocolate ganache donut for free to make up for the inconvenience. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. They serve drunken donuts ( baileys Irish cream, strawberry amaretto, etc.) on weekends and the donuts we had were good enough that we will definitely be back. I would like to stress however that the excellent customer service will be the real reason we come back. The manager was extremely polite and talked pleasantly with us for a few minutes which cinched my loyalty as a future customer. Too many places serve pretty good food but shitty service which makes the hassle of going there not worth it, not so with this place. Only criticism we could make was that we weren't thrilled about the coffee which seemed a little weak.

Went for the opening on Tuesday. We went at closing time so not much selection, but the few donuts we did have were top notch as was the iced coffee. Tried the strawberry filled, and bacon- chocolate frosted. Can't wait to go back and try some of the other options.

Not a big fan of this place we bought a few different kinds of donuts. And after trying a little of them all that we got I was not impressed at all. I have had way better donuts at other places. Now the coffee was really good. So even though the donuts weren't that good the coffee was and that is why it only gets 2 stars from me.

    (2)
  • Nick V.

The owner David and the staff are very cool. The key lime pie donut and the pistachio donut are ridiculously good. Spread the word about this place. It is awesome. I can see it becoming a main stay of Lauderdale by the Sea.

  • Kenden T.

Not sure what the hype is about. Donuts were bland with cloyingly sweet toppings. Pricier than other donuts without the bang for your buck. These donuts don't compare to dandee donuts in Hollywood. Won't be coming back for seconds.

Love this place! Every donut I have tried is great! All time favorite is the maple bacon donut. If you haven't tried it, do yourself a favor and go get one now! Parking is a bit of a hassle but well worth the time.

What a great new place to try new things! We tried the creme brulee (so good), cronut (buy in the am fresh) and a drunken donut (lime and patron flavoring yum!). They have so many different kinds of pastry and are very helpful in ordering. The employees and owners are so nice and coffee is great! After 5 pm, donuts are half price! Worth dropping in and trying some!

Amazing donuts! Great variety including a creme brulee, blueberry, peanut butter & jelly, and candy bar flavors. Cute shop which is well kept and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Everything seemed super fresh. Prices are half off if you purchase after 5pm. Nice outdoor seating too.

Amazing. We were down in ft laud for 4th of July fireworks and stopped in the morning after. We got a few & everyone tried them. Peanut butter & jelly was really cool. The creme brûlée had actually been torched & it really did taste like the dessert. I also tried to Miami creme which tasted like tres leches cake. All of the donuts tasted fresh & the coffee was real coffee (not the watered down stuff you get at dunkin). We will most certainly be back!

I'm sure I would have had a better experience if the donuts were ready 2.5 hours after opening and if the employee acted the least bit interested in customers. It came highly recommend, but we were not impressed.

This is really 2 reviews my first trip was 4 stars it might have been a friendly service or my fascination with a bacon doughnut but this trip assured me it was a fad for me and I won't be back. Place was dead, different employee this time sitting on his phone. Didn't put out the sold out signs or all the description signs. Didn't ask for here or to go and went to put mine in a Togo bag which should have been a sign. Didn't ask if I wanted anything else, maybe a drink? Oh and then I saw why it should have new to go... First table dirty, second dirty, third dirty... Also what's up with the rusty chairs is that a look? Anyway over 2 bucks for one of these and unlike my fascination the first time with a bacon doughnut this time the salty Carmel was meh... Oh well

Nuttella topped was great...banana slices on top not so good. Maybe toasted almonds?

Firstly, I am NOT a donut/doughnut expert, I rarely eat one. However, I wanted to check this place out because I like the high quality, eco-friendly concept. Not sure if they use Palm oil, but I assume/hope they are not, or at least get it from a renewable source. Service friendly, enthusiastic and very helpful. Smooth coffee was very good. Doughnuts have a lovely light texture and are not greasy. Certainly much better than the industrial versions from the usual suspects I have had and loathed in the past. I came for the bacon (Maple glazed bacon with a maple custard cream inside. The sweet/salty balance I was hoping for was obliterated by way too sugar sweetness. To my taste, half the sugar would be good enough. Miami Cream was a better balance, not as cloying, almost ethereal (if possible with a 500 calorie doughnut!). I'll be back at some point in the future, maybe for a healthier muffin?

Must try!

  • John A.

What crowd pleasers the doughnuts from Rhino are. We recently enjoyed a dozen of these lovelies over at General Provision and everyone really loved them. They are a delight for the eyes as well as the nose and tongue. Broward needs more awesome little shops like Rhino.

They only had a handful of choices available.

mmmmmmmmmmm....donuts. Donuts. Is there anything they can't do? --Homer Simpson A co-worker brought these in b/c he's a really big ahole :) and wants us all to get fat! LOL just kidding.

Sue me.

Super clean, adorable coffee shop with delicious donuts, muffins, cookies, etcetera. Don't miss the opportunity to indulge. Worth every calorie.

Amazing. We got 4, and I guess because it was late, doughnuts were half off... Our total came to $4.20. How fitting.

Don't bother. Expected something special. It wasn't. Atmosphere of the place was very cold and sterile. Donut display was sad. Most importantly, the donuts were not up to Dunkin Donut quality. BORING!!! Bob T. Ft. Lauderdale

The owner David and the staff are very cool. The key lime pie donut and the pistachio donut are ridiculously good. Spread the word about this place. It is awesome. I can see it becoming a main stay of Lauderdale by the Sea.

  • Mark D.
