Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

Walked in and attempted to grab some lunch. It was 1:30 and nobody was there. There were 2 waitresses sitting at the bar watching tv. I asked them if they sold slices and they showed me their "pizza buffet". Granted, I didn't stay to try it, but the pizza looked hours old and really doughy and just unappetizing.

I only go for the lunch buffet now a days because of not so good experiences in the past. Not like the old days anymore.

Okay seriously this place is awful. I've eaten here three times. My first time I went home with a tummy ache. I ordered the lasagna. Which WAS my favorite meal until I ate here. The sauce was watery and flavorless which ruined the rest of it but even without the sauce it was purely disgusting. My second time I had the cannelloni. Of course those are always usually just cheese but how can you possibly burn pasta with cheese? Which is what my meal was. Burnt pasta with burnt cheese inside and on top. But I excepted it and I ate a price but I could barely cut it. I also went home with a tummy ache. And my third time I had a simple cheese pizza. I GOT FOOD POISONING. I have never in my life gotten more than a small tummy ache when I eat certain foods, but, my mistake I ate here. And let's forget the awful food here for just a second. Everytime I look over, my waiter is staring at me. Okay seriously dude it's already hard enough trying to get through this grody pizza I also have a Pervy waiter. Never making this mistake again. And I'm not angrily writing this the night after my bad experience. It's been a month since I last ate there.

Came here for lunch because a friend of mine said it's her favorite pizza. When will I learn not to take pizza advice from a girl?? The pizza wasn't horrible but it was below average. Way too much sauce but the big problem was that they were so cheap on the toppings. Like 2 pieces of pepperoni per slice. The pizza tasted just ok, pretty doughy and cheese was mediocre. The service totally sucked. She was with it for the first 5-10 minutes, but then Houdini pulled a disappearing act. It took about 20 minutes to get the check and we waited another 30 minutes to pay the check. Even if it was busy, that's a long time to wait. But this place was dead, maybe three tables occupied, so that wait time was completely unacceptable. Needless to say, I won't be back.

My wife had heard about this place from a friend and since we were hungry and nearby we decided to stop in. Turns out the reviews are right. The pizza is the best and the service is too. Reminds me of the old TV show "Cheers". We'll be back soon.

We eat here regularly. Great little hole in the wall restaurant. Great pizza, calzones, pasta, wings, etc. Full bar is good too! Nothing fancy, just good food.

It is frustrating to find a place that has published business hours, and closes because "we haven't had anyone in for the past half hour". I would love to order however not able to do business with Pizza Shack as they are closed prior to the end of their published business hours.

This place is cooler than I imagined. Atmosphere is pretty mellow, the bar is pretty inviting. We ordered a 14 inch mushroom pizza. Before the meal, they brought out breadsticks, which were surprisingly enjoyable. The pizza was also good. We'll worth the price. Overall, a good time.

Definetely nothing less than 4 stars. I have been a patron there from even b4 moving to Miami in the very late 80's. I go back quite a lot to visit relatives in Largo and Clearwater and when I do, I cannot stay away from the Grille, and at least one visit is on the planner. I was there last in April, and as usual me and the other people in our party, some new to the place, came out happy and satisfied. Great and reasonably priced food in a quaint place that brings many good memories to me and my family.

Hands down, best pizza anywhere! My parents started going years ago and now when we come down on vacation in March we have to plan at least one night to have pizza here. It is so damn good! We get the deluxe and have never been disappointed. I asked if they would open another location a little further north... they asked how far, I said Boston. ha ha! She said she would only go as far as Tampa but the owners were from Michigan and they may go for it. I can only wish! Seriously though, this place is a little bit of a dive but the food is as we say in Boston, wicked awesome! The breadsticks are tasty too. The sauce, even tastier! Try it! You won't regret it!

One of the BEST meals I had in Largo, FL!!!! The breadsticks and red sauce were the best I've ever had! They were all buttery and garlicky- YUM!!!! We came in with only 30 mins. Before they closed, but everyone was very friendly and the food was fast and fresh! I had the blackened chicken fettuccine Alfredo. It was amazing! My daughter got a cheeseburger from the kids menu and she could barely put a dent in it- it was huge!!! The portions were very generous. I cannot wait to go back and try other items from there menu. The deserts looked delicious and creative too. I was overwhelmed from my dinner though:( I forgot to grab desert to go. I highly recommend this place!!! Very high quality meats and ingredients!

My absolute favorite calzone on the planet. Love the pizza too. Just know it is not NY or Chicago style.

The worst pizza I have ever tasted here in Florida and their are some close runners up restaurant is dusty and very hot in their over all a big disappointment considering all the reviews people need to learn pizza this was nasty and blan tasting cardboard would have more flavor and the Cary out server was really quite crass if a customer tries to help you should just say thank I worked in customer service for years now and that was the not very friendly will not be ever eating in just from what I saw the FOH looked like can only imagine what the kitchen looks like

We went here for the first time last night. Its so close to our home I am not sure why we never noticed it before! From the outside it looks like a little hole in the wall place, and maybe it is,but it was fantastic! We walked in they were packed! Full bar, full tables. They have a patio that's covered in the winter but will the covers pull of for the summertime. The atmosphere was great! The service was great! The bread sticks were amazing! The rest of our meals were very good also. One of the kids go wings and she didn't care for them too much (not spicy) but she ate some of the other food and loved it. We also had eggplant Parmesan and blackened chicken Alfredo. We will go back! The prices were not bad, but it wasn't super cheap. We would have spent the money to go to Buffalo Wild Wings, this place is better and local.

I'm not sure why it's only showing 3 stars. What to order: The wings are HUGE. Breaded but super tasty. Their Alfredo is homemade and delish! Only complaint, the pizzas can be a little salty for my taste (but I don't add salt to anything so please "take this with a grain of... Well, you know" :). ) Over all is always go here for football pizza and wings nights. Also, just to clarify, I've never eaten at the restaurant, only done take out.

Pizza Shack is a favorite for my fiance and his family. It's a far drive for us so this place is occasional treat. First, this is not fancy. Far from it but I like it. The ceiling covered in burlap sacks is interesting. Second, the seating is limited. It can get crowded pretty fast around dinner time. Third, the food is fantastic. The bread sticks are so delicious. They are like Philly style pretzels and the marinara is very good. I always order the blackened chicken alfredo. I usually don't care for alfredo but this is the most delicious sauce. It's perfectly creamy and cheesy at the same time. I have also tried the fried oysters which came with a tangy cocktail sauce which was divine. The specials sound great but I just can't give up that alfredo. This place is highly recommended. I can't wait to go back.

This is a great place for families. The staff is very friendly and the food is good every time. The bread sticks are hot and fresh and the calzones are not only huge, but taste great. The kid's pizza is a really good deal as well!

The wife and I dropped in for a quick slice while walking around the area. We sat at the bar and the bartender was very nice and gave me such amazing news when I told her I was celiac...They had gluten-free pizza!!!! It was forever ago I had good pizza. Celiac pretty much destroyed my ability to love all things pizza. Not only was it free of gluten, but the crust was good, the sauce was good, the cheese was good, the pepperoni was good... it was damn good! My wife got a slice of the NY pizza and that looked impressive. She said it was spot on. They also had gluten-free beer!!! Going to church with Grandma paid off! It was like I went back in time to when I was ignorant to how wheat was destroying my insides, but without destroying my insides. I noticed some of the dinner plates others were getting and portions looked huge. I'll be back here the next time I visit my grandparents. Great service and great pizza is not to be missed.

The Buffalo wings and the bread sticks with marinara dipping sauce - they've got it going on. A neighborhood told us about this place for quick and good food. They have a household of teenage boys and this is a great place to fill them up on tasty food at a value price. It's a cute place, small but has a fun vibe about it. The wait staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Before we even ordered, the server brought us a basket of warm bread sticks and a cup of warm marinara sauce for dipping them. The bread sticks were toasty and chewy. The marinara was saucy with just the right amount of kick. Surely this is a great sign of things to come! Actually, the pizza was a bit disappointing. The pizza wasn't bad, it just wasn't great. It couldn't hold a candle next to either New York style or Chicago style pizza. Maybe I'm being too harsh? Maybe it was a let down after those dazzling bread sticks and sauce? Looking around the dining area, we noticed that some people had ordered only the Buffalo wings and beer. That probably filled them up because the wings were the biggest I've ever seen. They looked amazing, crispy and golden brown. When we returned to this restaurant with our son a few weeks later, we ordered the Buffalo chicken wings and sure enough, they were the bomb.

very poor customer service lately. My family has ordered from pizza shack for years until recently. When taking your order over the phone they are often times rude and distracted. Twice they have completely messed up our orders because they were not properly listening. I am very disappointed.

Friendly and Fast! Pizza joints come and go in FL but I hope this one is around next year. The pizza was yummy, I would have enjoyed a thicker crust but it was still yummy!

Located at the end of a strip mall where every storefront looks the same, this restaurant is easy to miss but worth finding for its buffet lunch. A large U-shaped bar, surrounded by tables and booths, dominates the center of the dining room. The charming decor, which probably hasn't changed since the place opened 25 years ago, reminded us of an old-fashioned roadhouse in rural New England. The buffet includes two salads. The green salad was nothing more than iceberg lettuce mixed with shredded carrots and red cabbage, with dressing in individual plastic containers on the side. The pasta salad, with fresh spinach leaves, black olives, red onions, and diced ham tossed in a creamy dressing, was delicious. So was the tomato-based chicken soup, loaded with chunks of white meat, pasta, and onions, and flecked with lots of fresh herbs. Doughy breadsticks helped sop up every last drop at the bottom of the bowl. Ziti was al dente, but oversauced for our taste, and it would have been nice if they had added cheese to make it a traditional baked ziti. The pizza was New York style, with a chewy medium-thick crust and generous toppings. The pie with fresh tomato slices and a heavy dose of garlic was our favorite. At only $6.95, the lunch buffet is a real bargain and highly recommended.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
