As is a ritual for me when I travel to Pinellas, was there for dinner about 3 weeks ago with 5 more in our party. Never a disappointment, their food and prices continue to be just what the Greek Doctor ordered . Food that pleases the heart and soul of any hungry human out and about. Keep it Up Folks !!!

I am a regular at another greek inspired diner, however, they have changed their hours and are no longer open for dinner. I had been looking for a local replacement. I have passed this place a million times and decided to try it out. My friend and I ate here last night and it was awful! There was a smell in the place that I could not define. My friend ordered a fish that he had never heard of on the recommendation of the waitress. Legally in Florida you can not say it is grouper if it is not, so they pass this fish off as being in the grouper family. It came over cooked after being over frozen. It is no where near grouper and it is sold at the same price a real grouper meal on the beach. I asked for a chicken gyro was told they did not have that, so I just had a piece of "black forest cake". This cake, was nothing but a wanna be chocolate cake and some type of frosting, had good texture but no cherries and no taste. I am a baker so I was very disappointed. I wont be going back any time soon.

The wife found this place while looking for a nice place to eat for her Birthday dinner. This place did not disappoint. First, most of the stuff on the menu was relatively cheap for including a Greek salad and Pita Bread. We ended up ordering a Gyro platter, a Chicken Souvlaki platter and the Dolmades. All three of the plates of food were HUGE! The Greek salad was excellent. Everything tasted great, and I had plenty of Tzatziki sauce in my one cup to cover all the Gyro meat that came on the platter! Definitely would come back to this place again if we are in the area!

Let me begin with a note to the ownership: Don't nickle & dime your "regular" customers. We've been patronizing this place for almost a year now on average of 1x per week. A half dollar sized Taziki sauce for $0.30 extra.. eh.. It's not like we asked for 1/2 a gallon, or I asked for 5 sauces.. we asked for 1 and were told it would be more $, so we agreed, here's the kicker... The 1 tiny sauce (that should have been included free) was NOT included (someone forgot) so we paid for a sauce we never got.. $0.30 is not breaking the bank, but it's the principle... did you really need that $0.30 to remain profitable? especially from someone that patronizes your establishment on a regular basis...? The souvlaki is seasoned nicely, greek salad's are good. All items we've had here are of average seasoning and taste, nothing to write home about. They are priced fairly for the portion sizes, so I can appreciate that. Very limited hours, so verify they're open before going there. Staff is pleasant.

We've been coming here monthly for about 10yrs. Tonight, we ordered the Thursday night baked chicken special. It comes with a small Greek salad (which we up-sized to the bigger salad for $2) and rice. The chicken had a nice seasoning to and was quite a large portion (1/2 chicken). The white meat portion could have used a bit of sauce/gravy to battle the dryness. The dark meat was superb. The waitresses are always friendly. We usually get their wonderful lamb shank with orzo. They have all of the standard Greek menu items and the meal won't bust your budget either. Give it a try!

This place does traditional Greek really well. I went hoping for falafel, but it's a Mediterranean dish. Chose the spinach pie and Greek salad lunch special instead. Not much else for vegetarians, but the quality of the salad makes up for the lack of choices. One word: addictive. There is something in their potato salad that I crave regularly now. Had a good mix of peppers, beets and onions, but skimpy on the olives. The spinach pie was also delicious, though perhaps a little richer than I needed for lunch. Atmosphere is so-so. The inside has a tile floor, so if there are a few tables it seems rather loud. The outside patio is pleasant, but as other reviewers said, faces a gas station and is on a busy road. Looking forward to a future filled with more Greek salads!

I have been frequenting this restaurant for a while as you can tell from my precious review. The food is still as good as it's been since day one. However, my boyfriend and I went to get dinner and were just picking up because it was 8:30 and the place closes at 9 so we didn't want to make them stay open late to clean up after us. Eating in we tip very well every time, but picking up I ALWAYS tip a few dollars considering I'm just picking up and not staying in, which i don't feel is a big deal. The waiter and the owner were standing near us speaking Greek and the owner made a comment about the amount I tipped the waiter, (which I understood). The waiter responded to him "it's another one" I'm deeply offended because we loves this place because of the what we thought was friendly feel, We will not be going back. It gets one star because I give credit where it's due and the food is still good.

Food was pretty good. Very good Greek salad. Out of lamb shank. Out of lamb chops. Even at only 7:30 and a practically empty restaurant. I was promised I would love the ekweck - not so much. Overall, nothing special.

I have to edit my review of Greek Island. Today we visited another Greek restaurant that we enjoyed even more - Greek Village Restaurant & Deli. Everything about Greek Village was superior except perhaps the price so I'm reducing my rating of Greek Island to 4 stars. GV was slightly more expensive, but oh so worth it. We ordered the exact same thing at both places and Greek Village seemed fresher, tastier, and better presented. The restaurant itself was also much nicer. We sat outside and even in 90 degree heat it was cool with their outside fans. The service was also much friendlier as well at GV. You can't go wrong with either place, but you can do slightly better at Greek Village.

We were visiting friends in the area and used Yelp to find a place for supper. We lucked out with this restaurant. Everyone liked their dinner, but we all agreed mine was the best. Nothing but a HUGE Greek salad topped with chicken souvlaki and tzsadiki sauce. The chicken had been marinated for 24 hours, we were told, and it was very tender, juicy and tasty. I asked for the pita bread that comes with the meal to be omitted and they doubled the salad size in its place. How generous of them. My husband had the lamb shank with an aromatic tomato sauce and orzo. We found an entire stick of cinnamon in the sauce. So tasty that now when I make a tomato sauce at home I'm going to add a cinnamon stick! My friend likes her plate of dolmates and the other dish was chicken parmagiano which was ok but nothing special. We skipped the yummy looking deserts because we are all trying to keep the weight down.

1ST time patron of this long time restaurant... Ordered 2 lunch specials to-go. I got the Spanikopita (Spinach Pie - chopped spinach, feta cheese, onions served hot encased in thin crispy, flaky Phyllo dough) & Greek Salad (still can't get used to it being served with potato salad! although THIS was THE best potato salad I've EVER had), and a cup of Avgolemono (a creamy chicken, rice, & lemon soup). I brought home the Chicken Souvlaki w/ Greek Salad for my hubby. Both dishes were out of this world (yes, I made him let me taste his chicken!) Bill came to $16.04, tipped the take out girl to make it an even $20. Will definitely be patronizing their establishment again.

ah, the Greek Isles. I've been coming to this Largo staple for 15 plus years. I always get the same thing, Gyro platter with Greek salad (which comes with it). There is a ton of other stuff on the menu, but I've never tried any of it...if the gyro is any indication they are all fantastic. The platter is a large serving of Gyro meat with slices of Pita with some tzatziki sauce and a very large greek salad (pappas style with potato salad). Very fast service, we are typically eating within 5 minutes. THIS is a deal, lunch for two with drinks, is under $18....I could eat it everyday...I'm not kidding

this is always stop number two when i arrive in clearwater. have been coming to greek islands for probably 17 years. for the first 12 years or so they were the only remaining shop in a run-down old strip mall. after the mall was sold for an apartment complex they moved south down the street to their current location. it is a family run joint, and their longevity is testament to their loyal following and great food. skip the gyros. Greek food is a fine melody of the finest pressed olive oil, fresh fermented bread, colorful vegetables, juicy meat, sea food all cooked in spices and fresh rosemary. The people from Greek were great scholars who aimed to excel in everything they do. The results are quite visible in their food as they are the inventors of olive oil which is beneficial to health. Greeks also made different type of wines from the best quality of grapes fermented in controlled environment.

People wait in line to taste the exotic Greek dishes like saganaki, taramasalata, souvlaki, loukoumades, spanakopita, moussaka, and many more.
