Jewl on Lake Worth. This Japanese restaurant is Small and not fancy but a very cozy place with great Japanese chefs. Staffs are friendly and Will warn you if you ordered too much. Daily catch fish for sushi..every exotic but Super fresh!!! Wasabi is from real wasabi root ..not from tube or powder ..Hamachi karma not a typical non-meat serving.. So tasty and delicious, everything just perfect... Must go place.

Very good sushi place, we just moved down here and we were told this was a very good place, so we checked it out. The fish was so delicious, melted in your mouth of how fresh it was. The hamachi with jalapeño was so good! Also, some things are not on the menu and if you ask they will try to make it or something similar to that. We got rolls, most without cream cheese, never been a fan of cream cheese in my sushi, but they were very good. It is a small little restaurant, but no smells and very clean. The server that we had was very polite and very attentive. Only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because I am used to different types of sushi also , working in a sushi restaurant for 4 years I have seen and tasted all different types of rolls and fish. But overall amazing job, and very good sushi. Highly recommend.

The place was cute and clean. We sat inside. There is seating outside though it was too hot. I got seaweed salad and a California roll, and I shared a shrimp tempura roll with my mom. The seaweed salad was a tad bland but the California rolls were delicious! The shrimp tempura roll was very good too. The mayo on the shrimp tempura roll I could've done without but it's a personal preference. The low sodium soy sauce had a funny taste but I was not particularly feeling sushi tonight, so it was probably me. They did have specials written on a board and I regret not trying the fritter listed. Perhaps next time. Overall it was a good place and I would try it again.

Okay, this place is great! Having moved to Florida just a year ago, I had almost given up on finding authentic Sushi. Most owners are not Japanese, and the strange hybrid of Thai-Sushi that is so prevalent here drives me nuts. This is the real deal and tastes like it. I will definitely be back!
(5)Joseph D.
Right off the boat, onto your plate and into your mouth. It doesn't get any fresher . Warm and friendly family owned and operated business serving an amazing array of sushi and sashimi and creative hot dishes. Great marina location near the beach. Worth a trip
(5)Jacquelyn M.
We came here last night for dinner. The location is nice because it's near the water. The parking situation sucks, but anything out east is like that. When we arrived, we almost grabbed a table inside towards the back. However, it was a dark area and slightly dingy. We asked to sit outside, and they fully accommodated our request. We went outside and looked over the menu. As a vegetarian, they have a vegetable roll (carrot, avocado & cucumber), sweet potato tempura, vegetable tempura, and some eggplant dish. I wasn't terribly excited over the options, and I didn't make the effort to ask them to custom make something. I believe they would have accommodated, but it was my fault for not asking. Sometimes, I just get tired of asking for special orders. Instead, I ordered a plate of sweet potato tempura - my favorite. I had received my dish before everyone else did. I let it sit there and cool until everyone's orders arrived. Once they got their food, I started to chow down into my sweet potato. ' Granted, it's a fried dish loaded with oil. However, this was exceptionally oily. I couldn't even finish the appetizer plate. I felt slightly sick afterward from all that oil. That could have easily been from not usually eating something that greasy. Overall, the staff was nice and attentive. The rest of the party who ate fish seemed to enjoy their meals. For me, I wouldn't come back. There is nothing special about this place for me to ever crave it.
(2)Julie T.
We enjoyed the House Salad with Ginger Dressing. You can taste that it is homemade. We ordered the Triple Spicy roll and two Eel Handrolls and they were very fresh & tasty. Wonderful service as well. We would definitely visit this establishment again if we were in the area.
(4)Amanda L.
This place was hands down the best sushi I have had in Florida. I recently moved here from LA. To say that I am spoiled when it comes to good food would be an understatement, but especially Japanese cuisine. The fish was very fresh and delicious. I had the yellowtail snapper (daily catch) usuzukuri, incredible. Octopus salad - wonderfully prepared! Spicy tuna roll, perfectly done! And topped the meal off with the Mahi ceviche. Thank you Sushi Bon for a most delicious meal!! Japanese family owned and operated, very warm and welcoming!!
(5)Eric H.
The server was very kind. I liked his recommendation of the Spicy Wahoo Roll. I also had the jellyfish salad. It was my first, but felt/tasted like seaweed salad, so I enjoyed it. Also, the baby octopus salad was very good.
(4)Max L.
When I need a good sushi fix I head here cool quiet spot but there sushi is the freshest and most authentic around specials change daily for what ever the catch brings in only downside is its beer and wine. But when you go for sushi you want saki so who cares.
(5)Jake W.
Very good fresh! We loved their spicy shrimp hand roll. This place is right off the water. Always fresh.
(4)Laurie H.
Arrived 20 minutes before closing for lunch and still let us in. Very nice inside, service was great and sushi was excellent!
(5)Anna C.
If there was an option for 0 stars that's what this place would get. BE AWARE THEY WILL ADD AN UNAUTHORIZED TIP ON YOUR CARD. On top of the gross sushi that was far from fresh, the staff is extremely rude. By far the Worst sushi place we have ever been to
(1)Bena L.
Have been looking for a sushi spot in the area for a while, tried this place the other night and it was fantastic! Possibly the best sushi I have ever had, and I am picky about my sushi. Sit at the bar to watch a real sushi artist. The fish is incredibly fresh, the rice is perfectly cooked and the atmosphere is incredibly welcoming. You must go to this place!
(5)Paul A.
The best specialty rolls around. Fresh fish off the docks. Always an interesting, fresh, and delicious daily fish option. Specials include hogfish, fluke, etc. always ask for the chefs daily recommendation. Love this spot- highly recommended!
(5)Marissa M.
Would definately come back. Cozy and quaint, sat at the bar and had attentive service from the staff. The sushi was excellent more importantly. Skip Lemongrass and come here!
(5)Daniel C.
Best sushi in Palm Beach county. Although this place is small the quality of the food is astonishing. I've been to Sushi Yama, Sushi Jo, Thai Jo, and Kabuki for a night out but none has impressed me more than this place. The specials are interesting and some of their fish (like the hog fish) come from the fishing boats that are behind them. Their prices are more than fair for the quality of the food and the prompt service I receive. The owner is a quirky Japanese man that works with a small staff that includes his son and they are interesting people to have conversations with. I'm not saying that all of the other sushi places are bad, this one just appeals to me the most.
(5)Lindsay S.
Amazing experience sitting at the sushi bar with the owner making my food! The best sushi I have had down in Florida! Very authentic and fresh! The ponzu sauce and hamachi and tuna are out of this world! The ceviche was tasty as well! Need to come back to this place ASAP!!
(5)Laura S.
Sushi menu was very limited.....the quality was okay but loosely rolled and tended to fall apart when picked up. Service was very good. Ordered tuna tataki and it was $16 which I felt was very pricey for 8 thin slices of tuna.
(3)Alison B.
I would avoid this establishment. Although the food was good and the female staff very kind. The owners son is a monster. We had requested one last drink along with our bill at closing. The owners son refused was rude and extremely disrespectful. A disgrace to his father I am sure. What also concerned me was the fear the other female staff (possibly family), had of him. I sensed they feared his explosive, immature behavior. They kept apologizing to us. It was very upsetting to see their fear. This son has sever anger issues and should be removed from his place at this restaurant. I will never walk through those doors again. I will never let any of my children either. It's not always about the food and the atmosphere. It comes down to service. Something the owners son knows nothing about. Again, this boy is a disgrace to his father and family. He is also simply a disgrace as a human being. Do not go here unless you have a desire to spend your money and be treated like garbage.
(1)Aaron M.
I feel terrible for driving by this place for years and not stopping. What a gem of a perfect, local, proud mom and pop joint. The fish is incredibly fresh, and some of the selections are local (from the boat behind the restaurant). We ordered octopus tempura and 2 sushi combos. And we were full. But for dessert we ordered half a dozen more sushi pieces. Really good. We will return-
(5)Brooke B.
I'm a bit of a sushi snob and let me tell you this place is great!! They always have fun specials, fresh fish and great service. They buy fish right off the fishing boats for their daily catch specials. Their crab soup is fantastic as is their hijiki salad. Go and you won't regret it.
(5)Amy K.
Super yummy! We didn't order off of the regular menu - just the specials. The king crab avocado roll was fantastic, and so was the hog ceviche.
(4)William S.
Best sushi hands down no place can even come close!!!! All you need to know is any sushi place that has a fish filleting table right outside the back door has the FRESHEST fish available!!!! Be sure to try the seaweed salad and the baked conch sauce. I also had the conch salad and it was very fresh and had great flavor. The tuna rolls are the best tasting rolls I've ever had and all the ingredients were super fresh. The miso soup is also really good. Make sure to try this place you won't be dissapointed.
(5)Nevik E.
Note: On Yelp I review exclusively sushi bars. Decent selection and normal fare. Quality of fish was slightly above average. The chef's interaction and was great, he is very vibrant and easy to talk with. He was personally excited when we asked to order omakase and gave it some thought in choosing our selection.
(3)Nicole D.
I found my go to place for Sushi on my first try!! Just relocated here from NYC. I have very high sushi standards and after reading so many reviews of sushi restaurants in the area, I was a little nervous. Sushi Bon's reviews were the only that truly caught my eye. Ebi the owner, is amazing. We sat at the sushi bar and learned that he relocated to FL from NYC. Sushi was very fresh, tasty and nice portions. Definitely going back and will recommend it to our neighbors as well.

On my way to a show in Miami, I popped on Yelp in hopes of finding a sushi restaurant and Sushi Bon Express was bookmarked already. On we went! Our group of three entered in around 8pm and we were seated promptly in the dining room. The bus boy forgot to give us menus, so my sister went up front and asked for some. The waitress gave her an attitude and then reluctantly handed her the menus - we were really confused. We ordered some appetizers from the specials board, sushi, waters all around and some hot tea for my sister. The waitress brought over the hot tea, but was also carrying some sake for the table behind us... she was so distracted (meaning, she wanted to get the sake to the people behind us because they were buying alcohol) that she actually POURED HOT TEA all over my sisters leg. She didn't notice, either, because after she set the pot down on the edge of the table, she immediately turned tail and played "sweet" with the sake purchaser's behind us. My sister didn't say anything, as this was the waitress that gave her the attitude in the beginning when she got up to grab menus. We ate our sushi, which was good (albeit a little more warm than room temperature), and then closed the check. I tipped according to service. We realized why there was a sign on the door that said, "If the tip area is left blank, we will automatically charge 15% on the bill." The service probably is something to be desired and patrons probably don't tip at all - we understand WHY now. Yes, I liked the food and I might go back, but the service is really something that needs to be worked on. Just a thought.
(3)Rebecca T.
Good prices on sushi! All of the fish we had tasted good and not fishy/old. The service was quick. Only thing I didn't like is that you don't get free refills. I plan on coming back when I need to satisfy my sushi cravings.
(4)Meg T.
Will NEVER GO BACK! Staff was extremely rude. I apologized, when they were rude and the response I received was still rude. Bc of my medical request for a clean board (bc I am immunosupressed due to organ transplant), the man making the sushi was slamming things down as he finished. This same man was also making my friends sushi w raw fish on same board as mine, when I specifically said my sushi could not touch raw fish or I can get sick- I didn't order raw fish for a reason. When I asked to double check the board was cleaned, I was practically screamed at by the staff. To top this off, the sushi rolls were TERRIBLE! They were put together VERY SLOPPY AND POORLY....& taste wise, I can get better sushi from Publix! Don't go there if you are looking for a positive dining experience and good food. Thank goodness I could see we hat they were making or I would have been afraid they would have spit in our food.
(1)Eddie M.
This place is awesome. Very fresh fish brought in daily. My go to when I want good sushi.
(5)Asuka N.
On our way down to southern Miami, we stopped for lunch at this small little sushi shop next to a good number of boats docked in the intercoastal. Around noontime on a Friday afternoon, we were the only patrons around, so getting seated and served was a cinch. Service was pretty standard for the most part, and that pretty much goes for the menu and the fish as well. I went with a sushi + roll lunch special. The tuna definitely didn't taste as fresh as I'd like, although the salmon was pretty solid. The salmon/avocado roll is pretty much what you'd expect from a standard roll, and the inari was solid, if a little on the dry side. I was surprised by the uni - it was on the fresher side relative to what a relatively standard sushi joint would provide. In all, this is a pretty solid place to grab your standard American-influenced sushi in the area. It's interesting that certain fish (like anago) are available here, yet something like toro isn't on the menu. That said, outside of some of the really upscale places that are in the Miami area, this seems to be one of the best sushi options around.
(3)Makkme T.
Very nice place....fresh sushi and some different selections than the usual. Loved the "Crazy" roll.
(4)Brian P.
I really need to return to this place to experience their standard sushi fare. It was a dark and stormy night that we visited Sushi Bon (Express!) with a dark army of conspirators. We were on a mission to decimate the world's lion fish population. You see, this establishment serves sustainably harvested local fish and invasive species as sushi. The environmentalist in my cried out "YES!" but my tastebuds said "nooooo...." That lion fish was tough going down. I don't know that there is enough soy sauce and wasabi in the world to make that fish suitable for eating as sushi. The remaining items? OK. But the remaining items were mostly from the American-bastardized tradition of sushi that includes the exploding volcano roll and who knows what else, and we sat at a table (my LEAST favorite place to sit in a sushi bar!). Next time, bar. No lion fish.
(3)Brock G.
Sushi Bon is the real deal. Holds its own with excellent sushi restaurants in San Francisco and Vancouver. Easily the best and most authentic sushi in palm beach county. wonderful selection of local fish tonight included grouper, yellow tail snapper, and, mahi mahi. they also serve our local invasive species.... lion fish. Can't wait to try it out. Chef and owner, Ebi, is super friendly. his charm and skill, coupled with the amazing local fish make Sushi Bon a 5 star kind of joint. This is no silly south florida mixed Asian cuisine... This is the sake bomb!
(5)Wm. C.
Went back this week and all is in order again- Excellent Hamachi!
(4)Alla S.
Great little spot. The owner is friendly and the staff is nice. Food is fresh and prices are reasonable. What else could one want? Parking could be an issue on the weekends.
(5)Jessica A.
My favorite sushi place by far. If you like really fresh fish and different this is your place. I've been eating here for years and have always enjoyed the "wierd" that Ebi (owner) or Eddie comes up with. It's got a really comfortable scene where you can make friends with some of the other locals. I always end up running into people I know there. Love it!
(5)Sake C.
The owner of this place does specialty rolls to keep with the times. His true passion is in traditional style japanese food and sake. This is not to say his specialty rolls are not good in fact there great. But to me its like going to Ny and missing central park or france and having beer or belgum and having wine. Sure it is still world class but you missed out on the bench mark you missed the core. Indeed thats what sushi bon is the gauge by which i mesure all other sushi places. As stated they do many varieties of fish caught fresh by local fisherman. Its never more than a few days old if not mere minuts or hours. This is what sushi's soul tastes like. Dont miss the board to the right as you enter the sushi bar the board has all of the specials and fresh catches you won't see at other places. Like grouper, sword fish, and hog snapper. Yeah thats right hog snapper where eles you going to get hog snapper sashimi. Also the owner is japanese. So if your learning you can practic with him. ; )
(5)Natalie N.
My number one favorite sushi place in Palm beach County! I've been everywhere for sushi- from Sushi Jo to Echo to all of the hole in the wall sushi joints. Nothing compares to Sushi Bon. By far the freshest and tastiest sushi around! You must try the spicy Wahoo roll! UNBELIEVABLE.
(5)P L.
Absolutely excellent. Catch of the day is always local, everything is fresh. Best Sushi place in Palm Beach County hands down
(5)Liz H.
Best Sushi in the area! I've been coming here for as long as I can remember. Ebi the owner is awesome. If they have it get the Hog Snapper Roll with the spicy crab salad on top (not on the menu), or the tuna avocado salad which is listed as an appetizer salad but is HUGE! Also, the spinach sesame is phenomenal and I have never found it at another restaurant.
(5)Seth B.
Great fresh sushi dinner. The assorted sashimi was served with some yummy pickled and fresh veggies. My wife's tempura shrimp rolls had just the right flavors. Chef Hana honed his sushi trade in NYC. It was a treat to sit at his bar. I highly recommend that you go too. Hi.
(5)Jen T.
Fresh fish jumping straight out of the ocean an onto your plate...figuratively ;) Sushi Bon is good sushi. I'm very selective when it comes to raw fish and this place always delivers. Would have given five stars if they offered more veggie options, though the one veggie roll they do offer is excellent.
(4)Ciccio B.
Some of the best sushi I have ever had. Located on the intercostal, this tiny restaurant uses the freshest fish in town. In fact, once while I was enjoying my lunch, one of the fishermen came in with a yellowfin tuna he had just caught and sold it to the restaurant. It doesn't get any fresher than that. The other cool thing is that it is BYOB. That's right! They don't have a license to serve but you can by some cold beer at the Gas Station on the corner and enjoy it in the restaurant.
(5)Jaan T.
The best sushi around by far. Check out the daily specials.
(5)Jamey W.
It has taken a vigorous search, but I have finally found another sushi restaurant worth eating in the 561 other than Sushi Rock. I am going to go a head and say that I like this place more but it is only slight. They have creative rolls that are tasty and the fish is very fresh. The outside seating is very nice and the service was attentive. My only quibble was that they did not have Toro (fatty tuna) Sushimi, which is a favorite of mine. I strongly suggest you visit this place the next time you have a hunger for sushi.
(4)Alex Y.
This is a great place for sushi at a great price, and I hope that paradigm is never altered. The ingredients are all fresh and the flavors of the pieces can stand on their own without soy sauce or wasabi. If you stop in, have the eel.
(5)Ashley S.
This sushi place is very reasonably priced, offers very quick take out and has good food! I've only had a few items but have always had a good experience. I have only gotten take out but they pack it with attention to detail, separating the food from any dressing or soy sauce with plastic wrap. The staff is also very nice. A great, casual sushi restaurant!
(4)Franco M.
My second favorite place for sushi! They get major points because of their location. There is a law in Florida that says restaurants must buy seafood from a purveyor unless they are located on a fishing dock. Well, this place is on a fishing dock and you can expect to get some really fresh fish. Don't be surprised to see sashimi of dolphin, grouper, kingfish, or red snapper. And don't hesitate to order it, because you won't find it anywhere else!
(5)Adam C.
The owner of this place has a personality, so sit at the sushi bar strike up some convo if you're an extrovert. Sushi is the best I've had, and I like me some sushi. They have great ceviche, great spicy wahoo roll, great every-thang! Also, it's not the typical sushi restaurant atmosphere which starts to look generic. It has a fun, classy, tropical ambiance.
(4)L T.
My favorite sushi in the area. The fish is so fresh. Gracious sized rolls. Great service and the owner is so friendly!!
(5)Max X.
Me and my partner eat a lot of sushi (I say this to set up a base of creditability), 1-2x a week. So, it goes without saying that when we go to a place we want: unique, not breaking the bank prices, and a lot of variety. We care less about being seen and the mental games that people play and more about the actual food, and we want lots of it. This place did not disappoint. Tried the blue crab miso and it was great, the hot grouper sushi was really interesting and good, they have the actual 20oz Asahi's (yum!). Also, we tried Jelly fish salad and that was smokey, little spicy and really good. Great place to try, it is small intimate, quiet and cool and the staff was really, really attentive. Plus they cool fish sumi-e painting all over the back room.
(5)Julia M.
This place is and has been the diggity bomb. I love this place. Fresh fish and owner is awesome and funny. If you sit by the bar he is the one that doesn't stop talking. Lol. I could eat here every wk. Try the saki bombs. :) Try the baby bok choy it is yummy and I love the volcano roll. Saki of course. Try the unfiltered cold saki.
(5)Ly Kim L.
Bad service and truly subpar food. The seaweed salad was slimy and the fish was cut unskillfully. Such an enormous disappointment.
(1)Veronica L.
You have got to try this place for real.... Order the volcano roll - it is the best- They fry their tempura to perfection, never to heavy- The fish is always the freshest in town-and the staff freindly as it should always be-I definitly enjoyed it!!!!
(4)U H.
Been goin to Sushi Bon for a while now. A few years ago, before they expanded, you could bring your own cooler full of beer, or whatever else you want. The thing that sets Bon apart for me, is the use of fish from right here. I could give a damn about fatty tuna. Local Hogfish Snapper Sashimi Local Triggerfish Sashimi Local Grouper Local Wahoo Things that come right off the marina behind the bar. Every so often, if yer sittin at the bar you might get a treat of some traditional Japanese fare or snacks. It always helps when the owner, head chef is from Japan. This place and Sushi Jo in East Boynton take the crown for sushi around these parts. Not cheap. But really good. Too bad fish is up about 15% in general. Enjoy!
(4)J. P.
While the food was good, the service absolutely ruined our night. I ordered miso soup and a spicy tuna roll. My boyfriend ordered a specialty roll that came with 6 pieces. My miso soup never came even after I asked for it twice. As they were bringing out our rolls, the waitress spilled 2 pieces of my boyfriend's roll onto the floor (almost half of his meal). When he finished his remaining four pieces, he asked for a replacement for the 2 pieces that the waitress spilled and threw away. She acted shocked that he actually wanted her to replace the two she spilled. We waited another half an hour, but the two spilled pieces never were replaced. We left hungry (from my missing miso soup and my boyfriend's missing pieces) and picked up pizza on the way home. Definitely a horrible date night.
(2)Carrie J.
One of the only Japanese places that knows what Unagi Donburi is and makes it well. I LOVE BBQ EEL OVER RICE!!!! It's not on the menu, but you can order it. I can't believe I just let this secret out.
(5)Adam F.
Fair. Went for lunch and had to wait outside 30 minutes after they "opened" because they were cleaning the restaurant. Place smelled of bleach which I'm glad they're clean but made eating a little difficult. Not sure I'd go back.
