Went today for lunch to celebrate a friends birthday. They were out of quiche one of the main lunch items, we all had different things the chopped salad was just ok, the chicken wrap was nothing special but the pear salad was good. The chocolate dessert with ice cream wasn't anything I would recommend or order again. Reminded me why I hadn't been for lunch in awhile it's just not special except for being in a beautiful old hotel.

Wife and I came for dinner last week to celebrate our 25 year anniversary, our experience could not of been better! The food was delicious. My wife had the sea bass and I had the crab cakes, we finished up with a key lime pie and espresso. Service was perfect! Our server was very kind, she knew the menu well, made great suggestions and overall just helped make our evening special! It is pricey so unfortunately we can not visit as often as we would like but we will be back we when want to splurge and of course we will be here for special occasions!

Amazing! My daughter found this restaurant on Yelp when I told her we needed a good place for lunch in the area. Our expectations were high from the reviews and it lived up to our expectations! The food was so good and the service was wonderful! We came just as they were closing down for special events and they offered to set us up on the porch instead of getting our food to go. It was beautiful and we had such a great experience we will definitely be back.

Very disappointing dinner here last night. It started out on the wrong note when our server didn't even know what types of salad dressings they offered, brought the wrong salad and then we both ordered the meatloaf and the heat of the food was very inconsistent. Part of the meatloaf was warm and the rest of it was cool, the side of mashed potatoes were also cool. One of my companions ordered a beer and our server brought a warm beer in a warm glass, another of our dining companions asked for a packet of equal and our server brought a simple syrup mix. We also had to pay a 18% gratuity on a take out. It really was the worst experience ever at the Terrace and we will have to think twice before going back again.
Just enjoyed a fabulous Sunday brunch at the Terrace Grille with my family. This old florida favorite has a relaxed, charming ambience with great service. My sister and I enjoyed freshly prepared omelets that were light, fluffy and stuffed with our favorite ingredients. My husband raved about his perfectly prepared eggs Benedict and my father enjoyed his traditional poached eggs w sausage patties and home fries . Mom had the Belgian waffle with fresh maple syrup, raspberry cream and fresh fruit - it was a tasty masterpiece. My brother in law chose the low calorie grilled chicken breast wrapped in prosciutto on a bed of grilled vegetables. He savored every morsel! We enjoyed the amazing food, great service and the calm peaceful atmosphere which allowed us to talk to one another appreciating the great company. Recommend a reservation if you plan on dining here.

Have had breakfast , lunch, and dinner at the Grille. Breakfast is typically good. If I remember right, I had croissant french toast and it was excellent. Ate dinner here this past weekend and had seabass. It was the best I have ever had. I will be returning to get this entree again.

Great food and service the fillet was the best I've had and the service was outstanding. Probably Lakeland 's finest dining experience.

A decent little place inside of a historic hotel. Lakeland doesn't have a lot of options for non- chain dining so the Terrace Grill is a nice option for lunch or dinner. I've had the flatbread pizza, Meatloaf, Ahi Tuna and cheeseburger and all were good but not spectacular. Average price per entree is $15 for lunch. The hotel is worth checking out if you are staying in Lakeland, it is well restored and on the Historic Hotels registry.

Nice restaurant with formal to casual dinning , most come in dinner jackets and dresses , prices are high however that's to be expected , foods great as well as full liquor bar with a great wine list , upper class patrons with free valet parking

Going down hill......as one of the premium dining experiences in Lakeland, the service and quality were way off. Usually take customers here once or twice a year. and if ur gonna drop $100 a head it's gotta be great. this trip was not, the service was slow and unwelcoming. The meatloaf (a staple here) seemed to have been re-heated. Other guests has steaks and they were "okay" not sure if management has changed but this was not worth the price

I haven't eaten at the Terrace Grille in years because I don't live in Lakeland any longer, but I hosted a birthday luncheon for my mother there today and couldn't have been more pleased. I was concerned that the quality of food and service might have deteriorated since I had been there, but that was definitely not the case. There we 14 women at our luncheon and they were all raving about their meals. Our server, Destyn, provided amazingly seamless service as she served our meal and cake and allowed for the opening of gifts and taking of pictures. I found the lunch manager, Marie, to be very helpful in the planning stage. Without asking, she suggested that we set up a gift and cake table which made for a very elegant presentation.

Can we please talk about The Terrace? People gush over this place, and this is why: it's beautiful inside, everyone is dressed well, the wait staff are professional, and the presentation from beginning to end is very well done. I'd even say that the food is good quality. However... the flavor of food itself is really lackluster. I've been here about half a dozen times, and each time, I leave unimpressed. I had the banana goat cheese salad a long time ago (not sure if they even still serve it, though I am told that is a signature dish) - and it was just odd. No, the unusual flavors don't combine on your palate to give you a unique and delicious experience. It's just not the right combination. Steaks and crab cakes are just 'ok,' and I would even venture to say that the steak is under seasoned with a sauce that just doesn't quite hit the mark. I'm actually drawing a blank on the other things that I've eaten here... because, they aren't memorable. Now, back in the day, The Antiquarian delivered some memorable meals. I can tell you everything I used to order there (I miss that place! Bay Street Bistro is NOT the same).

An elegant restaurant setting in a boutique historic hotel. Ambiance and service are immediately 5-star. Hostess greets you quickly and seats you in the best spot available (love the Georgian window seating and glorious high ceilings). Nice touches like free valet parking, china, crystal clear glassware. A good crowd filters in for lunch. Christmas décor is especially beautiful. Lunch prices are high but this IS fine dining, not fast food. Think $15 entrees that are visually stunning on the plate. I chose the roasted meat loaf, garlic whipped potatoes smothered in thin crispy onion shoestrings. Moist, tasty, melt-in-your-mouth, perhaps saltier than my tastes enjoy. A friend enjoyed her prosciutto-wrapped chicken medallions stuffed with mushroom, spinach and cheese (again with a salty comment). She said her roasted zucchini in a garlic vinaigrette was divine. Another friend loved the sea bass tacos while a fourth enjoyed the salad with shrimp. Portions were ample (unlike some fru-fru places who skimp on substance) We shared a lovely key lime tart with a buttery graham crust and fresh strawberry and blueberries sprinkled about. The bar advertised a happy hour about 4:30-6:30 with wine $3 a glass. I was in the bar another night, ordered a pinot grigio and received a bill for $14. Verrrrry expensive and no forwarning. My fault for not clarifying before ordering. They have nice desserts like vanilla creme brulee or a cheesecake sampler. I understand they do a nice Mother's Day Brunch. I did not rate it five-star due to the saltiness issue, too many interruptions to refill our water (after each swallow it seemed) and a bit of a lag in bringing our check. I also had some difficulty with what may have been a wood-fired grill and a choking hint of smoke that affected my allergies to some woods/trees (when sitting on the kitchen side of the restaurant). Fish was a popular dish here and there were often wafts of this smell around us. I would not hesitate to put this restaurant on my luxurious dining list and will return. You might look at more food reviews under the Terrace Hotel--they are rated much more highly in the reviews there. 12/2014. Had a lovely 11:30 lunch for 14 that was well-serviced. Arugula salad with pork medallions was luscious. Friends loved the filet mignon, meatloaf, tuna tartare, sea bass tacos, reuben and quiche Lorraine. They didn't like the auto-20% tip added in though I expected it with a large party. Our bills averaged $22 with water as the beverage, entrée, tax and tip. A nice holiday splurte with friends!
