Being new to the downtown Lakeland area, Cafe Roti is a nice surprise! I've been here twice now, and both lunch dishes that I've had were great. It's hard to beat a 4 course lunch for $9.95:: Salad - This was a simple lettuce, cucumber salad with the dressings brought to the table in the family style serving cups. Tomato Soup - Not your normal tomato soup and definitely doesn't taste like Campbells.... Garlic! Naan - This is similar to a pita bread, but has a great consistency and served fluffy and warm. Great for dipping into your entree's sauce Entree - You pick your meat, and then your curry type/sauce. Served with rice, but comes in it's own little boat of sauce/meat. The Madras was delicious with chopped red chilis and coconut curry sauce. The Korma was good, but I would order it spicier next time - this is a very good option if you can't handle the heat. I ordered chicken for both. They can tone it down or turn it up depending on how much you like to sweat! THEN don't forget about a dessert - rice pudding, which I wasn't too fond of, and a nice mint tea (liked this). Slow service the first time, but great quick service the second time for the lunch hour time line and nice helpful staff!

After 5 years in Lakeland, I can safely say that this is my favorite restaurant in town. I started coming to Cafe Roti a little over a year ago, and now I eat here at least once a week. The owners, managers, servers, etc. are all very kind and hospitable, and remember familiar faces. The food is SO GOOD. I cannot rave enough about it. For newcomers to Indian food, you cannot go wrong with a simple butter chicken meal. Try it out for lunch- a 4 course meal for 9.95 is impossible to beat!

I love cafe roti! Try them for lunch! Soup, naan, entree, dessert and a drink for $10?! Crazy cheap! I love their tomato soup, garlic naan, and butter beef! Must try!

Discovered Roti via yelp a few weeks ago since my boyfriend is staying in lakeland for a few weeks. I have been here twice now and my boyfriend has come in at least 4 times in the last few weeks. The server is a sweet man who is very attentive and answers any menu question thoroughly. The food is definitively good! I wasn't expecting to find anything of interest in Lakeland but cafe roti definitely impressed both of us. The ingredients are fresh, and their curry is amazing..especially the korma- highly recommend with veggies and paneer. We also tried the masala curry and the tomato based one. Good portions. 1 order is enough for two serving if you also order an app and/or naan. Love the somosas, and the fritters in the appetizer sample. Their deserts are made fresh daily. We had the rice pudding last time and loved it. My bf also loves their garlic naan and always gets two order. Oh and the taj beer pairs perfectly with just about anything. Thank you to cafe roti for giving us a break from lakelands vast and boring Mecca of chain restaurants!

Love Cafe Roti. Food is always fresh and full of flavor. The servers are also great with walking you through the menu and making suggestions if you have never had Indian food.

I've been many different places, lived in England for 6 years. The best Indian I've had has been in England and have had difficulty finding good Indian food in the States. Cafe Roti is very good. My Brother took me to what he thought was a good Indian restaurant in Brandon until he had Cafe Roti's Chicken Tikka Masala. Now he call to have me delivered from Lakeland. One thing that is true about Indian restaurants, no two are the same. When the owner cooks the food, it is out of this world.

I have yet to find better Indian food than Cafe Roti's, even in Atlanta, where I now live. So when I come home to Lakeland I make sure to get it at least twice each visit! My usual order is the vegetable Korma and a side of cheesy naan. While I dine in occasionally, I also get takeout just as often and it's just as delicious. The flavors in their curry and the consistency in which they make quality food makes Cafe Roti one of my top favorite food places in and outside of Lakeland!

tonight was 4 stars, not always the case. i've had chicken dishes that tasted like the chicken was cooked the day before. that is not good. most of the time, pretty good, especially for lakeland. yes, the decor is weird, and it smells like mildew in there. but that's OK!!!! a little diversity is badly needed in this town. hope it stays for a long time. the staff is always wonderful, really friendly, personable and helpful.

We had lunch here on Saturday - arrived at 12 noon and were the only customers in the restaurant. When we pulled into the empty parking lot, we were a bit apprehensive, but I am so glad that we decided to eat here! The food was outstanding! We had the lunch special, which was $9.95, though we both had shrimp, so that cost an additional $1.00. The lunch special included a salad, soup, entree, drink, and dessert. The salad was nothing special - just some iceburg lettuce with dressing. The lentil vegetable soup, though, was very flavorful and quite delicious. I ordered the curry shrimp (mild), while my husband ordered the butter shrimp (medium). The entrees came with a basket of naan. Both of our entrees were delicious, though if I had to pick between the two, I would say that the butter shrimp had more depth of flavor. The naan was soft, fluffy, and buttery, and the basmati rice had great consistency and texture. Overall, we were HUGE fans of the entrees. For dessert, we had whipped cream over fruit. The fruit was canned (we could tell by the consistency), so the dessert wasn't incredibly memorable, but it was very refreshing. We'd read poor reviews of the service, but our server Kevin was great! He was prompt, very friendly, and contributed to our great dining experience. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to others who enjoy Indian cuisine.

This is THE best lunch deal in Lakeland. So much excellent food with drink included for 11 bucks. I always get the chicken korma but I also love the masala sauce. The owner is super friendly and wants to keep his customers happy. Yeah, the service is a bit slow, but we always expect that, even at lunch, and allow for more time. Plus, I wish they had the lunch special available on weekends.

Located across lakeland regional med center, this place has its own parking. Food: there is NO lunch buffet. But they do have 10 dollar lunch special which includes a drink, house salad with choice of ranch, vinegrette, italian dressing, entree, dessert, soup, and of course naan. The salad was just a regular salad with chopped tomatoes, not indian at all. The soup was delicious though, very complex flavors of indian spices with veggies. The entree was decent, i ordered the chicken tikka masala its most spicy variant wasnt that spicy at all. The naan that was provided was super fluffy for naan, never had it that doughy. Its usually flatter and more crisp. They give an ample amount for one person at around 5-6 pieces. The dessert was rice pudding or chocolate pudding, i declined because i dont like pudding and i was approaching my limit of food intake. Service: there was only 1 waitress for the whole restaurant. It was ample though as there were only 3 tables with people when i arrived. Price: lunch special was 9 something, with tax it comes out to be 10 exactly. Then tip comes at just over 11-13 per person. Overall: 3 star food, but most likely 4-5 star in lakeland. would come back because lets face it, this is the only place that has this kind of food in the near vicinity.

The chicken tikka masala was great! Had it "Indian hot" as they call call it, and it was just the right amount of heat, and I can tolerate a lot of heat! The garlic naan was fantastic too

Look, there are not a lot of options in Lakeland when you are looking for Indian food. Cafe Roti delivers a good experience albeit in a small package. The building is small and a bit odd. As you walk by the kitchen area into a hallway it feels like you are entering someones you don't know's house in order to get a meal. Once you've hit the main room it feels like a restaurant. The service is good but limited. Both times I've been to Cafe Roti there was one server for the entire room. He is very attentive and friendly but, at times when busy, one server is not enough to provide amazing service. The menu is also limited but the results are quite good. I have not been disappointed with anything ordered yet. I did chuckle to see Sam Adams on the imported beer list though. It's good especially considering it's location and lack of competition. For best service try to come at the least busy times.

Delicious! Love the tikka masala! The restaurant is easy to locate, and has a relaxing atmosphere. I recommend the chai tea and the Taj Mahal lager.

Solid Indian spot. My fiance and I frequent here often, and usually bring friends with us as well. Your typical American/Indian food. Enough said... Pretty awesome service as well, and they seem to have a usual flow of traffic. If you're wanting some solid Indian food in the area, I definitely recommend Cafe Roti.

decent food. but HORRIBLY slow service at 12:30 on thursday with only four other tables. main course arrived before soup which arrived before salad. (dessert did come last!) i used to be a waiter. it's diffcult to screw up a limited lunch service menu this badly, but these two ladies succeeded.

My husband and I can't get enough of this place as you can see from my check-in's! Our favorite is the butter sauce lamb and the karma sauce lamb. Great lunch special! And a nice dinner deal also. Prices are very reasonable. The food is wonderful, we take everyone who visits from out of town to Roti, and they all love it too! Service and staff always friendly and accommodating, clean and romantic ambience, but you can still feel comfortable bringing in children. If you are looking for a flavor explosion of exotic food this is the perfect place. A true Lakeland gem!

Average Indian restaurant with descent food... The restaurant servers and owner is very polite... One of the very few Indian places in Lakeland.

After hearing raves, I invited two friends to try it out. Half an hour before we received menus. An hour and a half before food arrived. There were only two other tables full at the time. At one point the waiter whistled to get the large table's attention. The food was good, not the best Indian food ever but good. The menu is limited. The waiter was very attentive to another table but not to ours. Refills were offered but never brought. Maybe you have to be regulars. Maybe it is just one particular waiter, but I won't be back.

THE FOOD I have been to this restaurant twice. The first time I ordered goat curry and while the goat was high quality and well cooked the curry was thin and lacking in taste. I also ordered some appetizers (like pakora) which I was not thrilled with. Food underwhelmed me. The second time was only a few days ago. I ordered the $10 lunch special, which includes rice, naan, beverage, salad, soup, entree, and desert. If that sounds like too much for lunch, it is, but for the wrong reasons. Let's start with the "salad". I literally got a small plate with big chunks of lettuce. That was it. Okay, there were two leaves of spinach and two think strips of carrot, but the whole plate was essentially one variety of lettuce. Lettuce does not a salad make. This wasn't an Indian salad, it wasn't even an American salad. As for the soup, the soup was basically pea soup. Not really any Indian soup I've had had before but it was fine. As for the entree, I ordered butter chicken and madras chicken. Both were ordered "hot". I eat Indian everyday and would say to a frequent Indian eater they were more like medium. Both entrees were very tasty, the curry being especially good in both. While a lot of that taste probably had to do with the butter in both sauces, tasty is tasty. The entree portions were fine for me but I think most people would have found them small. The rice was fine. The naan was decent but overly thick. Most good naan is soft and pliable and a little crispy/flaky on one side. This naan was too hard because of the amount of dough. Finally, the dessert. It was pudding with some sort of rice balls in it. I tentatively liked it but I don't think it was actually an Indian dessert. My wife, from India, could not recognize it and was turned off. The people next to us didn't touch it. Overall, I felt that the lunch special tried to do too much. The salad is a joke and while the soup was decent, I would much rather have more entree and less soup and desert. I think by spreading lunch out this way the restaurant is able to provide less entree, which is the most expensive part of the meal. When I go to lunch I don't want a four-course meal, I just want a good portion of lunch at a good price. DECOR When I look at the decorations in this restaurant I feel like it's having an identity crisis. The tables and chairs have a red/white theme that feels somewhat Indian but the art work on the walls scream "British manor". I have never seen an Indian restaurant decorated like this and this is probably the first non-casual Indian restaurant I've seen that doesn't have blatant Indian decorations. PRICE I think the restaurant is simply overpriced. The lunch meal should get rid of the "salad", the soup, and the dessert, and just charge $7 or so for a lunch entree. Dinner is even worse. I remember the entrees being roughly $15/each and felt that I wasn't really getting my money's worth. Of course, you also have to remember that most other Indian restaurants have good, clean, fresh buffets for a fraction of the cost. SERVICE My most recent experience was horrendous. It took 10 minutes for our waitress to come to our table. She didn't bring us our drinks until we reminded her 30 minutes later we hadn't received them. She didn't bring us any cutlery to eat with. I actually had to steal the cutlery from the adjoining table. It took her forever to bring our food. It took her forever to bring our check. I found out that it was this waitress' first day so hopefully others won't have such a horrible experience in the future. However, there were only two waitress' for all of the customers at the time, which was clearly too few. I saw other people getting annoyed as well because of the delay. OVERALL This restaurant is overpriced and of mixed quality. The impression I got from this restaurant regarding its food is that it is trying to Americanize its food. The customers I saw were all American; I didn't see any Indians. There are plenty of Indians in Polk County and I think they probably don't think much of this place with good reason. I've been to dozens of Indian restaurants and there are many better places to eat. Unfortunately, none of them are in Polk County. This is the only Indian restaurant in the Lakeland-Winter Haven-Bartow region and while it's not great it could be a lot worse. Assuming the service gets better I will continue to come here for lunch (dinner is too much) when I am too lazy to drive to Orlando or Tampa for my Indian cravings.

The 5 star rating says "As good as it gets!", which is true, compared to the rest of Lakeland. Lakeland is an abyss when it comes to good non-chain food, and this place is a diamond in the rough. Great vegetarian options (an entire page!), and the mutter paneer is to die for. Yes, I've had better Indian food in other cities, but this place is phenomenal compared to the rest of the horrible chain restaurants in Lakeland.

I'm a British person living in Florida. Indian food or curry as it is known is Britains favorite cuisine, and I know what a great (or even good) curry is, this is nowhere even near. My wife whom is a Texan had spent 6 months in the UK with me and has experienced what a real curry tastes like. First off, the prices are ridiculous $15 a main course of which the portion is tiny. The sauce is too thin and watery. The Naan bread is thick, doughy, greasy and tasteless. We've ordered here twice and both times been left disappointed, the first time we ordered - 1 chicken Vindaloo, 1 potato vindaloo, 1 plain naan and 1 garlic naan. When we got home my wife had a few tiny pieces of potato in her vindaloo and I didn't have a great deal of chicken! The sauce on the vindaloo had so much tomato in it, that it tasted horrible. The second time they had run out of individual containers for our meal so they asked if they could out them in a larger container, we didn't have much choice. Then he said they'd run out of rice.....seriously how does an Indian restaurant run out of rice??!!? So they gave us another Naan to cover it, not that a naan and rice is even comparable. By the time we got home the lid on the vindaloo's had come loose and spilled out on our food. I called them straight away, to which they said they would replace everything whenever we liked. I called back within the next few days to give them one last chance, at first they agreed to replace the entire order. Then they said only one of the vindaloo's at $16. I asked why so much? and he avoided the question in the end it was going to cost us over $19......they had kept adding things on. Overall this place is a dirty joke. I can't wait to move to Orlando next week as hopefully they'll be some better Indian food avaliable.

My husband's from the U.K where Indian restaurants are as ubiquitous as pizzarias in New Jersey. So, finding a place to go out for a curry now and then was high on our list when we moved here last year. Cafe Roti will do in a pinch. It's authentic and well-prepared. My problem is the service. Lacking the time we went there -early one Saturday night when you think they'd be primed and ready with a full waitstaff. Intead, iwas quirky enough to remind me of an off night at Faulty Towers! Still, I'm sure we'll be back when we get the hankering for a good authentic curry.

It's nice to have another "kind" of ethnic restaurant in Lakeland. This one tries hard to win your dining pleasure (including 27 filtered, rigged 5-star votes for this place. Thanks YELP for catching them). The 3-star describers are pretty accurate. It has morphed a bit since my last visit-cleaner, fancier. I didn't see a single "Indian" person in the place, worker or eater. PROS: fabulous lentil soup appetizer. complex. gentle. This alone would be worth the return visit. Great small portioned kheer (rice "pudding") dessert. a palate cleanser. Great naan-but not delivered until the meal, wouldn've made a nice appetizer during our LONG wait. Tables are well-spaced, giving a feeling of intimacy, nice tile floor, cool paved brick parking lot (still a tight squeeze).. Fancy-looking menu-classy. Waitress recommended the sweet korma sauce as their 'best sauce'. Portion sizes were reasonable. Great quiet place to enjoy your company. Convenient to hospital area, north of downtown. NOT SO PRO: Salad is mundane, dressings are American bottled, balsamic was horrible. I wished for something "Indian" as a salad or unique (carrot salad?). Lunch menu is price-fixed to $10 (okay $9.95)-that's not how I like to eat. Pepsi drink included (ick). Didn't see options like samosas or dips. They have six "sauces". You pick one and your meat. They describe "paneer" as "cottage cheese" (how unappetizing). We decided on a spinach sauce which boasted ginger flavor "medium spicey". I got "vegetable mix", friend got "shrimp". It arrived hotter-n-hell spicey--didn't taste ginger, spinach, shrimp, vegetables. nada. It was too thick and pasty. My "vegetable" had two bites of potato and two carrot slices otherwise our dishes were identical. (and my friend who wanted "VERY" spicey even said medium was too spicey.) ice water-guzzling spicey. Our waitress wasn't having a good day. Slow to serve us. Skipped silverware, no water refills. Though the restaurant was over-all clean, we sat next to a window with "food-splattered" wood slats. There is a pervading smell of kerosene or gas from their oven area that is really tough on asthmatics (near the front--back room was fine). WISHES: I'd love for more education in this restaurant. What are the Pakistani flavors? How are they different from Indian? If you don't like curry or cumin, what other options are there that are still Indian? Is there any chance for ala carte items? I'd love for this place to continue to develop and refine itself so there aren't 3 years between my pitstops!

I think the food here is quite good but a little pricey. I also get a general unclean feeling about the place. The last time I was there to pick up some take out there were old, dirty mops adjacent to the front door and on a previous eat in visit we had a roach crawl past on the wall. We are in Florida and roaches get in everywhere but they aren't the most appetizing thing to see. Anyway, people all over the world eat in far worse conditions so if you like Indian food you should give it a try. You are not going to find any within 50 miles of here.

Not bad, really. I'm not a local of Lakeland, so I can't say if there's a better place in town for Indian food. Probably not, I'm guessing. We ordered the Maharaja Feast for 2, for $50. It comes with an appetizer, soup of the day, naan, any 2 entrees and dessert. It comes out to be a better deal than if you and your date were to each order one of everything. However, if you're not really feeling soup and app, then just order off the menu. App: Samosas were pretty disappointing. They were relatively flat triangles filled with barely flavored filling. The tamarind and mint sauces saved the day there. Soup: Tomato - delish. Chunks of tomato soup and barely cooked garlic. Can't really go wrong there. Entree: Butter Lamb and Chicken Vindaloo. I know with most Indian places, you have to be a regular to actually get your food as spicy as you like. I'm not a regular here, so when we ordered our food Hot, I was hoping they would at least give us Medium. Unfortunately, no, it was all pretty mild. The Butter Lamb was really good though, the lamb was cooked well and the sauce was a dream. I've had better chicken vindaloo. I wouldn't order it again. Naan: They had lots of choices, and if given the choice, we'd have gotten the Aloo Naan. However we got regular Naan, and it was fine. Dessert: We almost got stuck with rice pudding but I asked for gulab jamon, and it was worth the request. Yummy as usual, although a little plain. The service was excellent, and we were thanked for coming in more times than I could count. It's not too far off I4, so if you're on the road and would like to make a quick side trip for some decent Indian and Pakistani food, stop in here!

Another lone soldier in the ethnic cuisine category here in Lakeland(if there is another Indian restaurant someone let me know). This happens to be a very good Indian restaurant. They have a big lunch buffet as well as large menu, all of the dishes I have tried were spot on. I make this a regular lunch stop. Try the Palak Paneer it is superb.

Great food for a good price. We were there for lunch. A good selection for authentic Indian food. You select the spicy heat the way you like. There were others there who seemed to enjoy the food. Some were from the middle east and other were local families with children. I enjoyed listening to the children as they tried and enjoyed a different style of health eating. We will go back.

This is definitely an underappreciated restaurant in Lakeland. We went on a Friday night and it was disturbing that we were the only ones in the restaurant until the last 5 or 10 minutes. We had the Samosa appetizer. It was okay but nothing thrilling. I had the Spinach Paneer which was excellent. It was nicely spiced and very tasty. My husband had the mix Tandoori. He said the shrimp was excellent and the chicken was good but not exceptional. I hope more people frequent this restaurant as Lakeland needs more ethnic, non-chain restaurants to choose from.

Not bad. Odd decor as mentioned by someone else here. Menu is pretty standard. The appetizer combo plate was just meh but the Lamb Biriyani was decent as was the Madras Lamb and Chicken Vindaloo. Sauces were pleasantly complex in flavor notes. I asked for "911" hot (vs. Nuclear) and it was an 8 on a 10 point scale of my hotness preference. Waitress was very charming. I'd go back.

Cafe Roti is simply the best Indian food in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Polk, and Pasco county. Indulge yourself in an appetizer sampler, and don't forget that you can order specialty naan (I recommend the cheese or garlic varieties). Don't forget to save room for the rice pudding, which is terrific. The lunch special is an excellent value (as mentioned in other reviews), and dinner is great too. If you are looking for ethnic food in Lakeland, you are doing yourself a disservice by not trying Roti at least once. That's what I did seven years ago, and have been coming back monthly, since.

My meal was quite good, and the restaurant is very nice. There weren't enough servers to cover the total audience, so I would have liked to have gotten my food faster. overall though the quality of the food and the rest of my evening was great. I go back again if I'm in Lakeland

So I have lived in Lakeland for a few years, and when I think of getting Indian food, I don't think of this area. I was doing myself a disservice. Stopped in today just for carryout; wasn't sure if I wanted to commit to staying until I scoped the place out and tried the food. Pulled up to what looks like a cute little place next to the Lakeland hospital. As we walked in, we were immediately greeted with a warm smile and saw another patron waiting for carry out. The front room is tiny and gives the impression the restaurant is too small for more than 5 people at a time; however, I poked around and saw there is a hallway to another dining area in the back. We ordered the mild chicken tikka masala and medium butter shrimp, along with garlic naan and raita. The wait wasn't long at all, and the gentleman who took our order and I assumed was the manager, offered us a drink while we waited. I declined but was impressed with the large selection of wines they had lining the walls. I didn't get a chance to review which ones they had but I will on a return trip. There WILL be return trips. Food was quick and well packaged, with more than enough rice for our orders. We arrived home probably 15-20 minutes later and I was pleasantly surprised that it was still quite warm as well. When we got home, I opened those containers and the heavens opened. I could drink both sauces right out of the dish if it were socially acceptable to do so. Hell, I was at home, I could have. On the naan, on the rice, with raita, without, all of it mixed together, each alone. Every variation was delectable. And that garlic naan was perfect. Light and chewy on the top, crisp on the bottom, with garlic and cilantro sprinkled and adding that rich flavor. Next time, I'd try hot on one of the dishes, because medium felt like mild to me and I like spice. The price was about what I would expect, about $10-15 an entree and extras being a few dollars. So we got out of there around $35 and it was well worth it. Great flavor, polite and quick staff for carryout; I'll try again for dine in next time!

The food was amazing. The butter chicken was absolutely delicious and the tandoori was great, too. The cheese naan is a must and, although not a rice pudding fan, the rice pudding was BALLIN

Second time here Chicken Tikka Masala was right on, nann was over done and could have got 5 stars. Had to ask for water refills a couple of times but other than that service was up to par. I travel extensively for work eat Indian at least once a week. For FL this hits the spot in the Lakeland area so no need to roll into Tampa. One review said the cook was gloveless and finger temp tasted everything but I didn't see this, stranger things have happened! Good valve & tasty!

This was my first visit to this restaurant and will most likely be my last. I walked in at around 2 PM for lunch there was no other customer in the restaurant besides myself. I was lead down a hallway into a very dimly lit dining area and seated. The server took my drink order and did not return with my drink until 5 minutes later after I complained to another server about the long wait. Keep in mind I am the only customer in the restaurant. Finally, was brought my drink and I ordered what the server recommended. After a short wait my food was brought out to me. I thought the food tasted great until I noticed A HUMAN HAIR in my food!!! I sat as the only customer in the dining area. I was just waiting for someone to come check up on me for over 5 minutes. No one came. I had to get up out of my seat, walk towards the front of the restaurant, and tell the server about the hair in my food. All she did was take the food off of my table and replaced it. Oh, I forgot, the server did tell me that it was close to closing for the lunch service so she was basically saying, "We are closing so you are not important and we forgot about you." There was no apology. There was no mention of making up for the bad experience that I had. Finally, I saw a man in a tie and I explained to him the situation. He told me that he would offer me a discount and apologized. He walked out of the dining room and never returned. I sat for another 5 minutes and I went to the front to take care of the check. When I had asked about the man in the tie (who was apparently the owner from what the server told me), all the server said was, "Oh, he left. He got paged and left." The food was tasty BUT THERE WAS A HUMAN HAIR IN IT!!! I would not recommend this restaurant unless you want to be DISGUSTED with hair in your food and treated like a nobody.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Cafe Roti during my most recent trip. Let me start this off with this. I've been coming to Cafe Roti on and off for about 3 years. The service initially had been super slow and the business just seemed generally confused. In spite of this we kept coming back because the food was so good. I have to say though, after my most recent trip I can see huge changes have been made. We were immediately seated upon entering and drink orders were taken shortly after. Drinks soon arrived as we looked over the menu. I went with the Chicken Korma with Chili Naan, and my friends went with Chicken Tikka from the Tandoori Oven, Madras Chicken Curry and the Alloo Naan. The also arrived in a timely fashion and the manager frequently checked in on us to make sure we were happy with our dining experience. The Chicken Korma was rich with just slight hints of sweetness coming from the cashews and raisins. It was all great poured over rice or sopped up with some of the Naan. Be warned with the Chili Naan, there are chopped, fresh chili's cooked in it and it's definitely for the faint of heart. The Madras Chicken Curry was vibrant with bold flavors of cilantro, tomato and coconut blending with exotic spices. The Chicken Tikka was served searing hot from the oven, just like it should be, and was also delicious. The food at Cafe Roti has always been on point, and I'm glad to see that the management is catching up. Definitely will be returning.

Naan for you, naan for me, naan for everyone! I heart naan! I heart Indian food! This eclectically decorated restaurant has stolen my heart. Sure the paintings are a little strange and the large ornate gold frames border art museum and 70's gaudiness----but I will take some interesting décor over no décor any day. I recently dined in for dinner and did take out with their lunch special. For dinner we had the garlic naan and the aloo naan. There is something about having fluffy potatoes stuffed in your bread that makes it oh so comforting. For our entrees we had the chicken masala, mix tandoor plate, and the dhal makhani. All the entrees were EXCELLENT. I think if we could have licked the bowls without looking totally crazy, we would have. In terms of spice level, we requested hot and it was perfect-----you can also ask for mild and medium. Still able to taste all the flavors with a kick without wanting to drown out the spiciness. The mix tandoor plate was a heaping pile of Chicken Tikka, Chicken Tandoori, and Sheek Kabob (beef). This was super tasty with the grilled onions and peppers. The chicken masala had a very good and creamy sauce and the dhal makhani (chickpeas) complimented everything very well. Our service was very good and the waiter made good recommendations as well as made sure we always had water. There was an interesting mix of customers when we dined in---a few couples that appeared to be having date night sans kids, a family with 3 kids and random relatives, and a mismatched looking couple with a young toddler that may have been on the show 90 day fiancé. On to lunch time adventures----the $9.95 special rocks!!! Includes a drink, soup (on my visit a uber flavorful vegetable soup), entrée, basmati rice, naan, and a cup of vanilla pudding. I ordered take out and everything was definitely packed with care in the seperate containers. The brother and I had chicken tikka masala and sissy in law had the butter chicken. Our entire meal was amaze-a-balls! I wouldn't hesitate to eat here again....and will definitely make a stop here whenever I am in town again.

I realize this was a strange choice for Saint Patty's (and coincidentally my friend's birthday however Roti's always has excellent food and great sauces. I went for something a little different... The mild curry chicken. It was passable however my friend got the ridiculously delicious butter chicken- hot spicy style. I swear that stuff is addictive.

Very tasty East Indian food, haven't found a solid place for Middle Eastern but this outranks most. The atmosphere was quiet for the most part, very attentive server who had a funny robust way in being entertaining. We had the family dinner which was supposed to be romantic, although there wasn't a huge list for a wine list. Samoas were delicious, the masala was great with poignant flavor, the curry was delicious as well. I will definitely be coming back to this restaurant in the near future.
