What!!!!!!! I was so happy to stumble upon this little breakfast spot on yelp. Located in West Palm Beach and 15 minutes from the airport it was a great fine for me. After reading some of the previous yelp reviews thanks to my fellow yelpers I made my choice and this was where I shall have breakfast. Customer service was outstanding but of course on their door it does state yelp loves us. Well they couldn't of said it any better. I wasn't extremely hungry since already picked up a breakfast snack at Starbucks before hand but I couldn't help myself and have a bacon egg and cheese sandwich and it was good. I dined with a really good friend and she was very impressed with her meal I did steal some of her hashbrowns though and they were delicious. So if you're in West Palm Beach and you're looking for some good breakfast don't look no furthe and don't go no further just make a stop here you won't be disappointed I certainly wasn't. I will definitely be back soon since I smelt some amazing curry being cooked up inside while I had to use the facilities. I was like ohhhhh curry, I love curry! It smells amazing I can't wait to get back to try it.

Great breakfast / fresh and delicious!! Only 5 min from 95 and food was prepared quickly .. Do yourself a solid and get some grub .. Had the western with grits and bacon :)

The pelican is a wonderful place to have breakfast of lunch. My fiancé and I had breakfast there this morning and it was AMAZING! I ordered the Mexican omelette. It was loaded with tomatoes, onions, and bell peppers. It was served with flavorful home fries and perfectly toasted buttery white toast. My fiancé had the 1/2 portion or biscuits and gravy as well as the French toast. Every thing was delicious! The service is phenomenal. Everyone is very friendly and attentive.

Very good food, service and atmosphere. I definitely recommend a visit and a few meals. The menu is creative and refreshing.

Wow. Wow. Wow. This was my first real experience with Indian food and it was amazing! I can't wait to have more. I had the spiciest thing on the menu for BREAKFAST: Chicken Nihari with scrambled eggs, potatoes, and buttery Naan bread. The Nihari flavors are bold, rich, explosive and super spicy. Tastes like a savory, homemade dish. I loved dipping the buttery naan bread in the spicy sauce. It was so flavorful. The Indian cook, an older lady, walks around and talks to everyone. Can't wait to have more Indian food!

Everything here is delicious! We are staying at the tideline, and took the bikes out here for breakfast and it is AMAZING. Not what I expected to find in this beach town. Authentic Indian cuisine. Next time I'm on this side of town, I'll definitely come back

The Indian breakfast here is absolutely the most delicious breakfast in all of South Florida. I had the chili pepper chicken omelette with tomatoes and fresh ginger and raita. I can't even describe how incredibly flavorful it was. On my last visit I had the eggs nissa and that was great too, but this was even better. Not only was the food incredible, but the service was excellent too. The couple who runs the place is so friendly, and when I said I liked my food pretty spicy, the lady who cooks all of the Indian food brought me out a side of her delicious green hot sauce too - I almost licked the bowl it was so tasty. I like Indian food a lot, but this Indian breakfast is so different (and I might even say better) than anything else I've ever had. (My friend said her American breakfast of corned beef hash and eggs was fabulous too.)

My favorite place to have breakfast. You have to ask for the special menu. Indian breakfast at its best. Really amazing. Nissa's eggs are the best, named after family. I will definitely go back.

Very disappointed. I had strawberry banana waffle and my friend had the banana bread French toast. Food was just okay today but I won't be back after today. Total came to $23 so prices are reasonable but it wasn't great today-- the indian menu is better than traditional in my opinion so if you don't mind being rushed out the door on a weekend try the Indian menu options for breakfast. I met someone from work and we agreed to go here on (my recommendation) and was embarrassed that the girl clearing the tables kept trying to clear out plates away before my friend even finished eating but the final straw was when she came back again asking if we were "done yet" because people are waiting and we just finished eating!! They hadn't even taken our money up to pay the bill and then after being rude asked if she could keep the $17 change as tip?!! Very disappointed and when I told our actual waitress she just shrugged so we left and I won't be back. Apparently in speaking with others I shouldn't have been so shocked and it seems that the quality is changing. It's really a shame because I considered them a hidden gem but now will take my business elsewhere. Message to Management: If you need more space then relocate to a bigger space rather than upsetting loyal customers who will no longer go back.

We got a typical breakfast omelette and one if their Indian omlettes. Both were very good but the Indian one was amazing.

  • Jim L.

Have been there for breakfast a few times over the past few years; every time the eggs are way over cooked, home fries are greasy. 2 Stars is a stretch.

Pelican restaurant in lake worth! It's off lake avenue. Indian breakfast and lunch. Wow. Wow. The flavor, the variety, the home cooked meal. You don't like Indian food? They have plenty of American fare as well. Breakfast was awesome. Got a lamb/spinach omelet with naan, and potatoes. Hubby got the beef shank nahari. Beef cooked in a sauce for a long time, so tender. Came with eggs, potatoes, and naan. This restaurant does not suck. Hidden gem for sure! Cash only, they have an ATM inside just in case. Pardon the rainy day pic of the outside... And not the food!

  • Macsen A.

The owner of the place is amazing lady. The Indian food is amazing. She cooks it all her self. I advise everyone to eat a breakfast there. If you do get a indian breakfast. 5 Stars!

Excellent food and service ..... The omelette was perfect and the banana walnut pancakes were to die for. I'll def be back

Writing this review because I am really missing The Pelican right now. Okay, let me brief you by saying I am not big on breakfast at all. I'm not into pancakes or waffles, but this place does fun things like mango coconut pancakes. Not that I'd even ever bother venturing to get something like that, because I am hopelessly hooked on their lamb and spinach omelet. Ugh. I want one right now. I've heard that they do Indian dinner maybe one weekend out of the month or something like that, but I've never made it there at that time. I'm sure its delicious. The folks who work here are so so sweet and friendly. Seems like they love their jobs, truly. Okay, just remembered this! My ONE complaint, aside from the mild inconvenience of having to pay cash (there's an ATM inside. Big deal.) is that their coffee is pretty weak. And I guess I am pretty sad that I can't get an omelet at a non-omelet hour.

What an awesome place for authentic Indian breakfast! The owners do an amazing job at mixing traditional Indian foods with breakfast options that most Americans are used to. Please don't come here and NOT get the Indian cuisine! If you want regular old eggs and bacon, go somewhere else. If you want amazing Indian flavor explosion in your mouth, come here! The Eggs Nissa was one of the most delicious dishes I've ever had for breakfast (better than most of the food I ate while in INDIA). And the Aloo Gobi omelette was also WONDERFUL. We only come to WPB once a year, but we will definitely be heading back here for breakfast next year :) Prices are reasonable--but make sure you bring CASH, they don't accept any credit cards!

Absolutely Delicious Breakfast! Really loved the Waffle..it was so light, crispy and tasty!! Heading Back Home to Beverly Hills And Wish we Could find the Pelican Cafe there

Homemade family-run Indian food and classic breakfast and lunch. Curry and Kemah are unbelievable. And go to breakfast spot

  • Anya T.

Wow, the pancakes here are--hands down--the best I've ever had, in my life! Flavorful, perfect texture, not too sweet. Utterly addictive! Also excellent: poached eggs (perfectly cooked). I would, literally, eat breakfast here every day. Except for the fact that the coffee is terrible. Diner-style, weak, yuck.

  • Tim J.

Fabulous Indian breakfast It looks like any small town cafe, don't let that fool you...it's fabulous. Finding great Indian food anywhere in the US is tough but Indian for breakfast...unheard of! They also do regular breakfast fare which I'm sure is great but really with their Indian food options why would you.? We had the amazing Nisa eggs and the more amazing slow cooked beef shank which was smooth and spicy in the way that only the best Indian food is and the perfect hangover cure. The only downside is they are cash only but there's an ATM so that's not a huge problem. Treat yourself...try this place.

I just had the standard American Breakfast, it was very good. A small place lots of locals off season. Great friendly fast service. A great place for breakfast right on Lake Ave.

At the risk of causing an exodus which will impact my ability to get a seat at this restaurant, I MUST, nonetheless, say how absolutely wonderful the food is. My omelet, filled with savory lamb, spinach and feta, paired with the side of potatoes, and grilled naan was one of the most flavorful, delicious dishes I've ever had. I ask for the Nihiri sauce on the side which is a spicy/savory sauce with bits of slow cooked meat in it. I pour that on my omelet along with the yogurt based sauce that comes with the meal, and I dip my naan in it too. Can't get enough! Truly wonderful food! The owner is an amazing cook. Wish it was a bit closer and that they took debit cards (cash only) but, as others have said, they have an ATM right inside the restaurant.

    (5)
  • Jeanette B.

Husband and I tried this place for breakfast because we saw they had an Indian breakfast and were curious. So glad we did! They have 2 desperate menus one with just American breakfast items and the other with Indian. I had the lamb omelette and the hubby had the lamb shank. One of the BEST breakfasts we have ever had! The only way u can describe the flavors and spices are like fireworks on the 4th of July! Can't wait to try their lunches. If you are a foodie and love flavorful meals you won't be disappointed! They only accept cash but no worries they have an atm on site!

Quaint little diner, staff treats you like fan. Great for traditional diner food but they have an awesome selection of Indian dishes as well. The coffee in my cup never hits the bottom. Try the lamb spinach keema omlette! Skip the naan.

Amazing food!!! The breakfast potatoes are delicious. The service is great. Very homie feeling. Only down sides are very small place and they only take cash.

  • Rachel B.

Small mom and pop restaurant. Service was great and welcoming, food was delicious. We love Indian food and have never found a place to have Indian inspired breakfast so we were thrilled. They also have an American style breakfast menu that looked awesome as well but we both ordered Indian dishes.

  • S. FL T.

This place is a gem. It makes me feel like I'm back home in San Francisco with it's great fusion breakfast offerings. My husband and I had the eggs nissi. It was a perfect balance of curry heat with fresh cilantro and slices of ginger. Add the home fries and naan and we were happily sated. The service is warm and friendly. The atmosphere is a cozy eclectic cafe on Cole Street before it became too hip. Just remember to bring cash.

  • Mike M.

Absolutely amazing!! Quaint six table seating! Flavor, portiona, price, service = 5 STAR!! Worth a half hour drive! Full American breakfast menu. But, the authentic Indian dishes are like nothing you've ever had (if you've never had Indian cuisine for breakfast. Something about the pancakes make you crave! My 15 year old son has dinner for breakfast - he's not a breakfast eater... He is now!!! Let the owner/servers/chefs (Tara is so sweet) recommend a dish for you. You will not be disappointed!

The good news: the best hash brown potatoes in Palm Beach County... hand chopped with lots of onions, etc. Truly terrific. The bad news: the TV is on by default so you are eating amongst inane commercials. Why they cannot turn off the volume and do closed caption is a puzzlement. Solution: sit outside, though you may have smokers at a neighboring table. Nice folks run this funky place. Give it a shot on a warm, sunny day.

We stopped in for breakfast and I can say it was very, very good food. The place is not much to look at. Outside there are mismatched plastic chairs and card tables and inside looks like an old diner. It's very clean but very casual and very dated. But... Omg!!! I had biscuits and gravy with a side of sliced tomatoes. The 1/2 portion was very satisfying and plentiful. Now I'm from Georgia. I know biscuits and gravy. I was worried because the gravy was a little darker than the white sausage gravy I know. But it was perfect! I didn't have to add salt or pepper. It was hot! I mean temperature hot, and it was! I could tell it wasn't dipped out of a pot after having been there all morning. Maybe the best gravy I ever tasted- cover my granny and my mommas ears. Hubby has scrambled eggs, home fries and crispy bacon. The eggs were cooked right, the home fries fresh with veggies and the bacon perfectly crisped. What a great meal for $13! The staff was very nice. The bathrooms were clean. I'm a happy yelper this morning.

Why isn't there more Indian-American fusion breakfast? Perfect omelette, excellent diner coffee.

  • Carrie M.

Delicious meal! I tried one of the indian breakfast dishes and was amazed. The chicken, spinach and spices were so tasty, the naan grilled to perfection and there were home fries on the side! My mom just moved to Lake Worth so I am thrilled we found this place!

this is my second trip to the pelican, but every day I wish I lived closer. seriously. I wake up at least once a week thinking, 'all I want is Indian breakfast' thanks to this place. their American standard breakfast options are solid, my mother has the eggs Benedict today and it was tasty. the waffle special on the neighboring table with fresh fruit looked great. but I come here for the lamb keema omelet. **hands down the best breakfast I have had.** ever. ground lamb cooked in amazing spices, garnished with feta, tomatoes and cilantro. served with light but savory naan. I literally dream of this dish when I am home. I heard they may serve Indian dinner once a week or a month, I can't remember, but it would be worth asking to attend. don't be turned off by the basic, plain ambiance. the food is what matters. eat here. breakfast will never be the same. oh! cash only. but they have an ATM in the restaurant.

  • M C.

Cute place but overpriced for the tiny omelet and two miniscule and tasteless slices of tomatoes (in lieu of toast and a side) I received. But the worst part was after an over jovial server took way more time to take our order due to her need to hold social conversations with other patrons (ok, so she's friendly) when the check arrived my omelet's price had been altered by hand to $1 more than what the menu indicated. Why? Because allegedly the owner said the menu was wrong and should have been $1 more. So they took it upon themselves to just change it and give me the check hoping, I suppose, that I wouldn't notice. Well, I did, and when I questioned it the server was not so jovial but rather very defensive and rude about it. And by the way, cash only. Needless to say, this place is off our list.

Very sweet staff. Scrumptious food ! I've tried their curry chicken, delicious! I've also had their blueberry pancakes, tasty too. Give them a try.

Had brunch here with a friend . The mango lasso was delicious and the lamb and vegetarian palettes were also very good . I would visit often.

  • Rachel M.

Definitely best in class! Came here for breakfast with my friend. The restaurant itself is small but the food is amazing! Prices are also really reasonable for the quality of the food you receive. I had the Eggs Nissa which was amazing! Just the right blend of spices to create an absolutely delicious breakfast experience. The portion size was great, the home fries that it came with were flavorful. Now for the naan! I've had naan before at other East Indian restaurants but this time, the bread was just perfect! Can't wait to come back and try one of their special dinners! P.S. Cash only :)

  • Louis I.

Thanks to Yelp we 'found' this place. Went this morning for breakfast and we were totally floored. Breakfast was excellent...I had the eggs Nissa and she had the spinach and lamb omelette. My eggs were incredible..,vibrant colors, inviting aromas and a spicy flavor combo...just really good, better than her omelette which was vey good in its own right but more Americanized. Although she didn't see I to the menu, my GF asked is they had lassis...yes they did! She ordered a mango lassi which was probably the bestie have had. Made with local Florida mangos, it was the perfect blend of fruit yogurt and ice. $4 for a big one and $9 for the pitcher. Next time we are definitely getting the pitcher. Service was prompt and friendly...I fact everyone who worked there had a great smile and attitude...seemed like they enjoyed their work and making customers happy. Bring cash!...they only take the green. Check the hours because they are funky. Can't wait to go back.

There is nothing I don't love about The Pelican Restaurant. They have a massive variety of breakfast foods, including Indian breakfasts, an array of creative pancakes, and omelettes. I bring my out-of-town friends here for Indian dinner on Fridays. Their palak paneer is delicious, especially paired with some Chardonnay. Sometimes the wait is long, but it's well worth it.

4.5 I've lived in South Florida for over 20 years and I don't think I've been to Lake Worth more than 3 times. It's Palm Beach County's equivalent to Margate. Lake Worth Ave is basically what Atlantic Ave (Delray) would have been like shortly after the Civil War ended in 1865. The Pelican Restaurant might be the only reason to visit Lake Worth. It's a quaint little diner that you could easily miss if you aren't locked into to your Google Maps. I'll keep it simple, real simple. Get the Eggs Nissa. It will be one of the most memorable omelets you'll ever have. If you dare order anything that you could find on a Denny's menu, shame on you. You are wasting calories, money and I hope you get diarrhea. The Pelican is owned by a lovely Indian couple who adds their own style to some very traditional breakfast and lunch items. They're all packed with tons of flavor and the eggs mixed with feta, curry and homemade nann bread is so freaking money. I can't wait to go back for more!

  • Edwin C.

If you're looking to find where the Lake worth locals go for breakfast you must eat at The Pelican!! 10/10 from all American classics like fluffy pancake or their Out-of-this-world breakfast potatoes to the the Indian inspired "Eggs Nissa" you will not be let down. A+++!

  • Peter L.

Hard to say what is better.....the staff or the food. Tari and Sam and her whole staff are so nice and pleasant and caring. They go out of their way to take care of you and make you feel welcome and appreciated. The food, especially the West indian breakfast specials are DYNAMITE! Eggs Nissa or Keema with naan bread and raita yogurt sauce...any of it/all of it is excellent. Also, Friday nights, they serve Indian/Pakistani dinner. It is a gift in Lake Worth! An awesome place with awesome people.

I went here for the first time two days ago for breakfast with my boyfriend. When we walked in, I didn't expect much for the food, but the service was unbelievably friendly so I gave it a chance. When our dishes arrived, I couldn't believe how tasty they were. We ordered the aloo gobi omelette and eggs Benedict. The omelette was a tad spicy, but had the perfect balance with the eggs and naan that came with the dish. The coffee wasn't bad either, as most restaurants water down their coffee and let it sit and burn. Pelicans coffee was very fresh and strong. After we finished, the owner asked if we would like anything else, and we told her we were interested in trying the banana walnut pancakes, but were too full to eat them. She then offered to give us one as a sample, on the house!! It was so amazing, crispy on the outside and fluffy and soft on the inside. We are going back again for breakfast this morning.

The Pelican is one of the most charming places to eat downtown Lake Worth. They specialize primarily in Indian dishes, but I come for the breakfast when I don't feel like cooking. They always have amazing French toast or pancake specials, and their biscuits and gravy is some of the best I've ever had. They have healthy breakfast choices too so you don't feel guilty if you're trying to lay of the bacon. Although I have never tried their Indian dishes I most certainly will once I get a cute date to take here. Highly recommend this restaurant!

  • Belle T.

Super yum. Were from the northeast and know our Indian food, but I've never had Indian breakfast before! I had the Lamb Keema Omelet and it was heavenly. It was perfectly spicy and balanced with some cheese like feta and the curry was just right. The owner was extremely friendly and my husband and I felt welcome there with our four little ones who gobbled up the "best pancake they've ever had!" They had banana coconut pancakes which were fluffy and flavorful. Add to delicious breakfast, happy husband and kids, a big mug of coffee and I'm in heaven! Thanks for a wonderful meal, Pelican.

This place is great for Indian food on Friday nights. The rest of the week they have amazing breakfast dishes with an Indian theme. Of course they have the classic American diner breakfast foods and everything is delicious. Service and staff are great and very friendly. This place is cash only.

Pelican continues to be fabulous, and has migrated straight to my 5-star list of awesomeness. This morning I ordered the aloo gobi omelette (usually a special). This is an absolutely amazing breakfast. The eggs are fluffy, the cauliflower/potato/ginger stuffing is superbly balanced spiciness and makes for a beautiful combination with some ultra-light feta-like cheese (no goopy, messy cheese here!). The sides of the Indian breakfast options include a delicious hunk of naan bread and home fries. It's total breakfast nirvana. Love you guys, Pelican!

  • Samantha M.

I love their Indian breakfast eggs! I can't believe it took me so long to actually walk in here. It was delicious, quick, and warm. In fact, my friend didn't even have time to walk down the street to the ATM--since it's cash only--before the food came back. A small, family-run diner with a special Indian twist. Excellent.

  • Billy W.

Gagoosh! What a marvelous little breakfast spot in downtown Lake Worth, Florida. I don't know much (but I know I love you) about indian food, but I can tell you that their authentic indian breakfast is delicious. I have also had their french toast and it was great, but the reason people seem to come here is not only for fantastic service but the unique take on breakfast. I will definitely be hugging the adorable owner lady next time I go. Cash only.

Great breakfast, a bit expensive but you have live entertainment - people watching in downtown Lake Worth! Always entertaining...

We spend a weekend in Palm Beach in mid-December. Managed to get to the Pelican twice for breakfast . Before I forget, Pelican opens on Friday night for dinner. All Indian (we are sorry we didn't make it there.) Back to the breakfast. If you go, try any and all of the Indian inspired breakfast dishes. The ones we had: East Indian Scramble, Aloo Gobi Omlette and Lamb Keema Omlette. All just wonderfully seasons and with all the Indian spices that in Indian food that we all love. For bread you get toasted Naan! Where else are you going to get that? Do yourself a favor, if you are in Lake Worth, the Palm beach area, have breakfast or a Friday night dinner.

  • Kevin E.

The Pelican came highly recommended to me by a freind of mine as one of his go to breakfasts, so I was excited to try it out for myself. Great cozy little spot, super nice & attentive staff, awesome food - a solid win on all fronts. The menu is kept relatively simple with a fantastic incorporation of Indian spice & curry alongside the more traditional American diner style breakfast options. Everything I saw come out of the kitchen looked awesome, but it's going to be tough not to order the eggs nissa again next time - they were phenomenal. Looking forward to many repeat visits.

  • Samantha P.

Their Indian breakfast dishes are delicious. I had the aloo gobi omelette. The portions are generous, the prices are fair. The service was excellent. We walked in 15 minutes before they closed, which I hate doing, and they welcomed us right in.

Great breakfast. Had blueberry pancakes which was large enough to split with my friend. My husband had the Greek omelet. Beautiful presentation.

  • Michael M.

I rarely give 5 stars, but this gem truly deserves it. Why? --It's an amazing, delicious mix of American and Indian foods (you can get dishes of either, or dishes combining both, e.g., the Indian omelet (with curry ground chicken...). --the food is all fresh, fresh, fresh... --It's locally owned and the owner is a very sweet woman who tends to every detail and makes me feel so welcome for 4 years plus. --The only night it's open for dinner is Friday, but it's a must in the Palm Beach area. --I take my dogs sometimes and sit at the table outside, the very friendly wait staff always brings them a fresh bowl of water. --The atmosphere inside is old school diner (including a counter with stools like in the dime store when I was a kid)--very authentic and without any pretensions. The only downside is I wish it were open for dinner more than just Fridays...

  • Penny B.

I had the eggs nissa, which was flavored with curry and some spice that give it a little kick. It had good flavor. The cooked tomato, feta and cilantro garnish accompanied by a small helping of spiced yogurt sauce was a nice touch. But...here's the BUT...it was a little greasy and overpriced for breakfast. I was expecting to pay about $10-11 max. It cost almost $15! Luckily the portion was a good size. I'm not sure if it's worth the price?

After years of walking by this restaurant, but never going in, my brother, boyfriend and I decided to give it a try especially because of all the positive yelp reviews. Unfortunately, our experience will be keeping us from ever eating here again. The food was just ok. I tried the red, white and blue pancake special, my brother got the veggie omelet and my boyfriend tried bacon and eggs. Nothing special, just average. But the fact that it was practically empty and it took at least 20 minutes for someone to take our drink order, much less get our food, was annoying to say the least. After eating, I got up to use the restroom and came back to find a dead cockroach chilling on a menu on the floor. Surprised and a little disgusted, my boyfriend told the waitress and she simply scooped up the cockroach and continued on her way. No sorry, no "oops," no nothing. And then we left... never to return. We will be sticking to our regular place, Pete's Place in Greenacres, from now on.

This review is for the Friday night dinner. Having spent much time eating in Edison, NJ (perhaps the Indian capitol of the US) I can say the Friday night food here is delicious. (They are only open for dinner one night a week.) We started with the chaat appetizer (sorry, can't remember the full name). I've eaten papri chaat many times and it is a favorite. They take these little hollow puffs, fill them with some chick peas and something else, sprinkle on some raw onion and green pepper and little yoghurt sauce. Excellent! I had the lamb vindaloo (special). It was a wonderful balance of taste and spice. It was served with a big block of tasty rice and a thimble of some kind of yoghurt sauce (why so little?). My only complaint would be the bread. It is not tandoori naan. I think they would be better off serving homemade chapati. My friend had a vegetarian dish of cauliflower and potatoes which she loved. Dinner came with a little halwa for dessert (or you could get ice cream). I normally find halwa too sweet but this was, while sweet, not cloying. This would be five stars except for the bread and it is just a bit overpriced (like by $1-2/entree).

I stopped in this morning to grab some breakfast at Pelicans. If you have ever been to a restaurant where customer service is poor, you will not get that here. Tara, Sue and Jonathan really made my Wife and I feel welcomed. I had the steak and eggs with blueberry pancakes. The steak was perfectly done and the eggs were just the way I like them. The blueberry pancakes were packed full of blueberries! AWESOME! My wife had a croissant with bacon and cheese she loved it. The coffee kept coming and so did the smiles. At first I thought it was kind of pricey but now I see why. Now I understand why every time I pass this place it seems to be very busy.

Delicious! Nihari beef shank breakfast and blueberry pancakes were a hit. Not surprised as dinner here has been great as well.

Small quaint place with delicious Indian plates. I tried the lamb keena omelet and it was good (mind you I like spicy food). The potato fries were nice and not greasy at all. I read the comments of sharing an omelette, it is a decent size but I would not share mine at all. The service oh what a nice people I found there. I think the owners also serve since it was this nice indian lady who told me about the plates. Then the cook came to check if everything was ok It seems that there are a lot of regulars going there so that tells me it is a good place. Oh yes, bring cash, no credit cards at all.

This place is awesome. If you want something different for breakfast you should definitely try The Pelican.

No better place for Indian in South Florida! (IMHO) Friday night dinners shine with an ever changing menu of Indian favourites! Lamb curry on a recent visit was a particularly huge hit. But while the dinners really are divine, it's the breakfasts where The Pelican really hits it out of the park. The eggs nissa are especially good, portions are huge - easily shared for breakfast! The owners and staff are super-sweet, so accommodating and just lovely. I will be going back again and again. Love it!

This is a small very quaint local spot in lake worth.. Its very tiny but its very friendly the owners are a very nice Indian couple and both work all the time.... The Breakfasts here are very good and simple.. This place is all bout good and simple food for breakfast but at night some nights on weekend its open for amazing Indian food very exotic dishes that they cook and spend days making.. This place is a hidden jewel.. The Atmosphere inside is very sparse but they have a cpl tables outside where you can people watch and enjoy great food..

One rainy Sunday morning, we ventured to Pelican House, for a new breakfast experience. The first thing I noticed is that they need to fix the door which does not shut automatically. This modest cash only establishment (can't miss the signs above each table), combines Indian and American breakfast food. I ordered the lamb omelette. The minced lamb had an authentic Indian spice and was delicious but was served in a plain tasting egg wrap. My wife ordered the pancakes. Don't be fooled by other Yelpers. These pancakes are heavy, grainy, and starchy and did not in any way satisfy her 2 week long craving for pancakes. However, our guess is that this thick batter holds together well their many fruit pancake varieties. Our recommendation is that you go to this place only for Indian food and not an American breakfast.

So so so so good. Our very favorite go-to breakfast spot. The staff at this mom & pop are helpful and cheerful. The food is outstanding- especially the Indian options. The pancakes are fab as well. Always a great experience.

I have eaten here twice. It's a small diner with plastic covered tables. The food has been ok. Their idea of biscuits seem are certainly not the traditional flaky type but they work. Service is decent and friendly.

After eating at the Pelican almost every Friday night for the last few months, we finally moved to Lake Worth. Our relocation had nothing to do with the pure deliciousness of the Pelican, but it certainly didn't hurt. Now we're just excited because the Pelican is pretty much in our backyard! We tried breakfast for the first time and was just as good! We tried a few of the Indian breakfasts and they were absolutely amazing. Spicy! Just thinking about this food makes me absolutely starving. It's that good. GO!

I love their Indian breakfast specials. Delicious!! The red chilli neema leaves me satisfied every time. A tad pricey at night though. And plan ahead, they only take cash.

I love this place. The Indian breakfasts are amazing - I particularly love the lamb keema omelette - but the daily pancake specials are also delicious (think peach cobbler, pina colada, banana). I've been a few times now for Friday dinner and it was honestly the best Indian food I've ever had. The lamb karahi was my favorite - perfectly spicy, flavorful, and tender - but I also loved the green chili chicken curry, which made a nice counterpoint to some of the other curries we ordered. The appetizers were also delicious - there was one with tamarind in particular that I loved. I cannot recommend this place strongly enough.

I'm giving this place 3 stars for a couple of reasons. Firstly, the owner has tried to fuse two rather distinct cuisines and has done so fairly well. Pakistani food is not easy to mesh with the American breakfast experience, and yet the owner does a pretty good job. I had the keema spinach omelette, with hasbrowns, and my companion had the keema omellete avec hashbrowns as well. Keema is usually mutton, or beef, but in this case was ground chicken. I can understand why since the grease factor of beef may not allow for a well formed omellete and mutton may be to gamey for the average American palette. The spinach was cooked right, with a good amount of methi (fenugreek leaves) to add that aroma (and taste) of home. My hashbrowns came with raita (what a great idea! Must try that next time). In true Pakistani fashion, they did offer Nehari but I have gotten too Americanized to have slow cooked beef shanks with greasy naan in the morning. Besides I was sitting at the counter and Nehari is a sit down, somewhat messy experience, best shared with others who understand what eating with one's hands is all about. Not apropos at 10.am on a Sunday morning in lake worth. Oh well... Secondly our waiter was very attentive. My coffee was always refilled, and he made sure to check up on us without being too intrusive. Once he figured out I too was Pakistani, he did get a bit excited and made sure the owner and her ABCD daughter came by to say Hullo (well Salaam actually). We exchanged the usual regional polite conversation (KHI, LHR, Peshawar, how long etc, etc) and then went about our way. But I liked the friendly ambience. It seemed perfect for a lazy, but busy, slightly frenetic, but chill Sunday morning. So kudos for trying something new and doing a decent job of it. My only complaint, well not really a complaint but more of a slight, was that the naan were those horrid affairs that one buys frozen and packaged at the grocery store. I know naan require a tandoor, but maybe a paratha would be a good compromise. I just hate those packaged naan being passed off as the real thing. A good Naan is like a good Pizza, it must have certain specs, otherwise its just a sad, shoddy knock off. In this case, that's what it was. For the while that I am in So. Flo. and if I am ever up in the area, I will make it a point to revisit the Pelican. Oh and the reviewer who had an issue with Saag Paneer, Truth is Saag Paneer is more Indian than Pakistani, and I have a feeling that's probably why it was botched up.

This place has been here forever! It has been years since I have been here. On a recent trip to Riviera Beach, driving back to Boca I remembered this was here in the quaint little downtown Lake Worth. It is a seat yourself kinda place, and when we sat down, the server (who may have been the owner), came over & told me I looked cold and should sit at another table away from the air vent! It was sweet. Now onto the food: coffee is good, menu is pretty cool for a breakfast place. They have typical breakfast stuff, then some interesting Indian & Mexican influenced dishes. I ordered the eggs nissa & asked for no toast (they have naan too!), since I am gluten free, and to my delight she says they have gluten free toast!!!! SOLD!! If you are not gluten free you probably don't understand how epic it is to get GF toast out in a restaurant. My boyfriend ordered the eggs rancheros which were great (he said!), and my eggs nissa was interesting and really good! It is basically a scramble of eggs, onions, curry, green chiles, topped with feta, tomatoes, & fresh ginger slices. It was very different, but really nice. They only take cash, so be aware!! Great little place to go for breakfast!!

My pals and I just went to this place based solely on these reviews, and Yelp let us down, hard. We've all been to Indian places in Brooklyn, NYC, Montreal, Toronto, DC, suburban MD, London, Berlin, etc. the point is I've had Chicken Tikka Masala in a ridiculous amount of places as have they, and never have I been served such utter garbage and forked over 16.95 for the privilege. Most places have this staple, and vary a bit in how they make it, but this was the lowest quality chicken, the most disgusting sauce, weirdest looking Naan. Also normally we have wayy too much left over, but they barely gave like 4 tiny chunks of chicken. I was just feeling shy tonight, and we were having too much fun making fun of it to say anything, so we just took it. Except when we were leaving, I said as I walked out "Greaat Food" quite sarcastically. :) Had the chefs just happened to have tried meth tonite? Did they pay all these other ppl or make fake accounts with all the great reviews? Were all the other reviewers on meth with the chef? Did a child write that ridiculous poem below? I may never get answers...

All through the beach communities of Southeast Florida there are hidden gems in the old towns. The Pelican is one of the best! Traditional American breakfasts can getaway little humdrum. The Pelican features great traditional but also Indian breakfasts that are AMAZING! Try the Eggs Nissa, which is spicy and flavorful, with big, chunk red potato home fries and warm naan bread. Service is personal and excellent. Bring cash, as they don't take cards.

Love this place - amazing Indian breakfast specials on the weekends that are totally unique. One word of warning though - it's cash only!

The eggs nissa is very good but they have another indian breakfast egg dish that is very spicy and better tasting in my opinion. The pancakes are also fantastic.

Holy moly, one of the best things to reach my palate: Beef Nihari. I've tried now twice to make it at home but I can't attain the rich level of spiciness and savoriness that this dish offers. The meat is stewed, bone in, for about 6-7 hours with all sorts of spice (cardamom, cinnamon, red chili pepper, black salt, fennel seed, nutmeg, bay leaves, coriander...the list goes on) and then served with basmati rice and fresh sprigs of cilantro. SO GOOD! I've eaten my home recipe for 8 days straight now (made it twice) and I'm not sick of it.

Have walked past this pace and never stopped to noticed they serve Indian food on Friday nights and have Indian breakfast specials! We went there today - I ordered the Eggs Nissa - this was one of the best breakfast dishes I've ever had! Eggs with green curry, cilantro, tomatoes, served with Naan, yogurt and amazing home-fries. We will be back and definitely trying out dinner on Friday nights.

I eat there a few times a month , very pleasant owners and staff, I was told about their fri night Indian food and decided to check it out , well the waiter recommended the grouper Vendalu , which he recommended to everyone that came in and at $22 for a small piece of fish and a handfull of rice with two small pieces of nann it was way over priced , in my opinion it was way too salty for my tastes, salt is supposed to enhance a dish not overwhelm it , I may go again for the odd breakfast because they are friendly and pleasant , but you got me once for the Indian food , Never again

For what it is, this place really deserves five stars. We love going out to local spots for breakfast when traveling and the Pelican was as good as it gets. This unassuming restaurant has a great staff and a warm atmosphere with patrons from all walks of life welcomed with open arms. Friendly guy working the counter (wish I caught his name) could not have been nicer. The selections include the regular breakfast fare done with freshness and flair, but the standouts are the Indian dishes which I've never seen on a breakfast menu. Just loved this spot. Owner was talking about making homemade chutney to go along with the Indian dinners they serve on Fridays. If I lived down there, I'd be the first one in!

The Pelican now does require cash due to the rising cost to use debit machines. However, I go on a fairly regular basis and I love it! The Lamb Kirahi is amazing...I get 2 Naan portions, extra green chutney (not the white sauce), and extra napkins. It is fairly competitive to other Indian restaurants but may be more pricey than others. The lamb omelette for breakfast is great too. Yum.

We went here on successive Friday nights (only restaurant we ate in twice on this vacation) and loved the Indian food. We live in a pretty big city with a lot of Indian restaurants but both of us - and our friends from the other coast - agreed this was the best any of us had ever had! It WAS spicy - even the chicken marsala - but boy oh boy was it good. The cook/owner is lovely and happy to answer questions, and the service was great too. DO NOT MISS The Pelican if you're in the area and like Indian cuisine.

A hidden treasure. The authentic Indian food on Friday nights is the freshest I have ever had, and I have had a lot of Indian food. The staff is very welcoming and makes you want to come back again. The small restaurant atmosphere, with such local flavor, adds to the experience. Although The Pelican is an hour from my home, I most definietely will make it a favorite travel destination.
