I'm writing this review 6 days after my bf and I went to have some drinks and maybe an app after 9 on a Sat night. We waited a good 5-7 min while the server finished her convo w another patron. We ordered 2 margaritas. I asked for drink specials but they had none other than draft beer which I don't drink. It took about 10 min to get the Margs. The were ok, though watered down and served in foo foo glasses I haven't seen since my days as a server in college (80's). We asked for menus. She threw 4 laminated, dirty greasy sheets at us and disappeared. I glanced at the apps but was taken aback at the choices. No light anything. It seemed like an odd menu so we passed on apps. I was done w my drink before my bf. The server came over and asked if we wanted another. I said no at first but when he said he'd have one i agreed to also. There was one problem. We had to finish both drinks because they had no other glasses to make the drinks in. So the Bf downed his and she brought another round. Mind U we had no cocktail napkins, the menus still on the table and flying around due to wind. The table was soaked, we needed an ashtray but couldn't find our server for over 10 min. And it's an outdoor seating area. The bf got up and got napkins, ashtray and wiped the table down. He also tidied up the menus and put them somewhere. When we were both done and about over it we looked, we waited and finally he chased down our server for the check. $40 down the drain. Could've patronized any # of bars on the Ave and we had to wait on ourselves. VERY disappointed to say the least. Dare I say the server was busy feeding her head instead of her customers. Plus the music was mediocre at best. Idk where all the stars are coming from. This place is not the cleanest, and the karaoke going on inside is like something out of a cult movie.

Fabulous place to watch sports, drink a beer, and great food. We love the cozy couches inside. And Felix is an unbelievable server... Very upbeat and helpful. You'll need a little patience because they make everything to order but it is well worth the wait.

I think I just had the best meal of my life at South Shores Tavern. I had a hard time settling on one thing from their packed and tempting menu of interesting, delicious-sounding food. I'll have to go back. They use ingredients like foie gras, capers, black-olive tapenade, hummos, pickled jalapenos, and other things you don't get at home unless you're a great cook. And the prices can't be beat. Their blackened seasoning is the best I've had anywhere -- I loved my blackened rib-eye, seasoned roasted asparagus, and mushroom mashed potatoes with their great house wine, and it was practically free. This place is a find. I'm a geezer and like it pretty quiet, so I go early. I eat out a lot and have tried Boulud's, Maison Carlos, and other tempting places, but I've never had a more delicious meal than I had here.

This place is Awesome, love the atmosphere! Great music, all of my favorite bands play there, where else can you seen great bands like JP Soars, NattyBos, Mark Telesca .... with NO cover charge? really really good food, much better then you would expect from a bar or tavern, very unusual menu that changes all the time, the best chicken sandwich anywhere! Orange Chicken is great! bunch of different veggie lasagna's eggplant and even butternut squash is great! soups, salads ... love them and of course its a tavern so gotta have great wings! All at very reasonable prices! Wonderful friendly staff all the time, cant beat this place ;)

I guess coming at 6:22pm is too early for this place. I wasn't blown away more disappointed because no greeters or anything. This is more of a locals place for regulars. I wouldn't come back.

Love local South Shores in Lake Worth they make great wings. We've had just about all their flavored the garlic honey yum, med hot w honey yum or just about any way you want them. The live music rocks they have a band (King Mudfish) we always go to see whenever they play a bunch of us locals and not get together. Great fun laid back island place.

Great cocktails, friendly & unpretentious waitstaff, and excellent burgers. three places to eat: the quiet front, inside, or outside back where there are bands and mosquitos. fun place, would come back.

Stumbled on this for the first time last night and it was great! The outside bartender (I don't know his name) was a true professional, attentive, accomodating and pleasant despite being quite busy. The band was awesome, the crowd was filled with musicians who liked the band and were friendly (I was alone) and the backyard patio was a delight to sit in. The wine was reasonably priced; all I ate were steamed clams and they were pretty good, not over-garlicky and plenty of toasted bread to sop up the good stuff. I'm sorry I am just now finding out about this place because I heard last night it has recently changed hands; hopefully it will only get better or stay the same. I'm in Lake Worth for school on Fridays, so I think I'll be stopping back in quite a lot now that I know where it is!

Nice hidden spot in downtown lakeworth with a great outdoor rear bar with live bands and great ambiance. Nice quieter front patio. Food is average. Come here for the relaxed outdoor setting but loud music if live band. Very local bar.

This place doesn't look like much from the front. But go around back and Southshore has great, live blues, rock, rockabilly music every Friday and Saturday night in the courtyard. The menu has been recently updated and upgraded to actual chef prepared food (before it was stuff out of the microwave). The waitstaff, especially Jackie, is the best. Also very dog friendly.

This place has turned a true corner in Lake Worth. Manageress Karine and Staff have worked very hard and the results have confounded our expectations. To begin, the FOOD. AMAZING. Gastropub is the right phrase. NO, you will NOT get get a heaping plate of "schnur" for a "percieved bargain" for $9. What you WILL get is a truly delectable meal in appropriate portions for starting at $12. This food, it's not a stretch for me to say, is on par with The Gardens or even Palm Beach. The better part of this, is that the attitude and ambience is the antithesis of BOTH places. South Shores, like much of Lake Worth is easygoing, unruffled, and completely pleasant. The staff, despite ANY conditions, slow or wall to wall packed, have always been attentive AND COURTEOUS. We finally decided, after several visits, to have a special luncheon there. They prepared a prix fixe menu for us and it was a total home run! For the carnivores, definitely the prime rib. I personally LOVE the pan-seared sea bass. There are also plenty of vegetarian choices.

I went there with some friends because the menu seemed vegetarian friendly. It had a promising start but just ended up being mediocre. The avocado hummus sandwich was dry and didn't have much flavor. I had a brief interaction with the manager because they refuse to make substitutions and found her extremely rude and uncompromising. Short story - there are too many other places to go that are worth the time and money.

I've been in for lunch, dinner, or just to drink heavily. Always a really great experience! Food is awesome (seriously!), ambiance is relaxed and eclectic, service is excellent! Live music is always phenomenal! Don't pass over this spot, it is truly a hidden gem!
