We found this place on our way home and decided to give it a try. My guy and I both enjoy BBQ. It kind of reminds me of a Cracker Barrel kind of country atmosphere. Very quaint, homey. The staff are friendly. I got a sweet tea to drink because if you can't have good sweet tea...chances are the southern is not there. The tea was good! Dinner was good. If we lived in the area, we would definatly come back.

Stopped for dinner and had the AYCE chicken. It was hot and fresh. One of my sides were collard greens. Wow , excellent , just like my grand mothers , fresh and hot. Seasoned just right and not over cooked. Great job crew.

Ordered the ayce BBQ chicken. Waitress was very nice, chicken was dried out and tasteless. Sauce was so so. Sweet potato was very good and so were the green beans. Would not recommend eating here until something drastic changes.

Nothing terribly wrong with the food, but it's not as good here as at the one up by SR 60, or in the Havendale Plaza up in Winter Haven. I had the St. Louis-style ribs, my wife had the BBQ sandwich, both were kind of dried-out, but Woody's Sauce kind of brought it back a little so it wasn't awful. Fries & slaw weren't as good as the other locations we go to. The beans tasted a little off too. It's seriously in need of an update in the interior. It's probably quite clean, really. I know it's popular with the guys & gals coming off Crooked Lake, but it's just dirty-looking & beat-up from all the great years they have been serving there, which is probably most of my life. Plenty of bench seating, chipboard tables. I didn't hesitate to eat there though, & wish we had a Woody's in Lakeland again.

This was one of the top-producing Woody's for years, I have been going since 2005. Still, something's gone wrong in the last year, the quality has become inconsistent, and the sparser crowds prove its not just my opinion. Went there a few weeks ago, they were out of chicken(!). Went again with my girlfriend, the food was good, and we both liked the beef brisket. Then, went back about a month ago, the beef brisket was dried out. Believe it or not, they also have pretty good smoked prime rib for about $12, but haven't tried it in at least a year so not sure if it's still OK. So right now, I would say, if you go you're rolling the dice.
