Fellow Yelpers, I have been here on several occasions, most of them special and this time was no different. Amongst great company I had an awesome dinner here at this high-end buffet. One of the few high-end buffets in town where one can eat like a Golden Corral fattie but dress up nicely and be amidst a better crowd in a good environment. We came on Spanish night and the food was very good. The restaurant itself was not too packed since it was a Tuesday night but that did not matter, it just made it better (yes, I'm a poet). The salad bar offered the usual items one can expect, but with a few varieties that extended into the Spanish cuisine. As an example, there was a Spanish spin on the regular Caesar salad which gave it a bit of a kick. All the dishes were very reflective of the cuisine of the day. The stand outs for me were of course the meats (Prime Rib, Pork Roast, etc.), the Plantain Pignon, the Yucca and the Yellow Rice and Beans (all can be seen in my photos). They were serving Paella, and this was my first time having it and I was not impressed at all. It was a bit too dry and lacking an abundance of shellfish which I thought was supposed to be a large portion of the dish and part of what makes it a "Paella". After going to the bathroom in order to make some more room, I headed to the dessert portion of the buffet. The Chocolate Cake was delicious, the Flan was amazing, the Bread Pudding that my beautiful girlfriend shared with me was very good and so were the cookies. All the sweets were very good. I felt like a fat kid in middle school when hearing the lunch bell during 3rd period, very happy. Overall I recommend this place for a nice dinner on a big appetite. I have not been here on Greek night but would like to try it sometime. Italian night and French nights are also pretty good. Hasta la próxima vez!

I've come here a few times, for a variety of events and different days of the week. Their theme changes nightly from Italian theme to Spanish theme and then Sunday brunch and such. I have always found the athmosphere is lovely, for Central Florida. It's open to the atrium of the Gaylord so you get all the indoor plants right next to you. The selection is usually pretty good, it's not anything AMAZING but it's a good place to take a large group and very family friendly.

It has been become an annual holiday tradition for us to visit Ice followed by a meal at Villa de Flora. Had this been our first time, we may have enjoyed it - but we've started to notice a decline. In past years, each night used to focus on cuisine from a different European country (example: Thursday may have been Greek night, Friday Italian, and Saturday Spain) The past two years it seems as though the different nights have gone out the window - and the cuisine is more or less the same each night. The staple items seem to include: Create your Own Pasta, a Carving Station (ham/roast beef), Paella, Lasagna, Salmon, Hummus. Our reservation was for 6:15, but we weren't seated until closer to 6:45. It is the busy season, so we can expect to wait a bit - but when running behind, it should at least be communicated. What makes this worse, is that they do not have a pager system, they rely solely on shouting your name. During the majority of the year, this practice would be fine; however, the Lobby's Christmas Show had started - and it was IMPOSSIBLE to hear. We are a couple in our twenties, loud music does not scare us off - but we really struggled to hear the hostess, and when we saw other couples who came after us being seated before us, we really began to wonder if someone else responded to our name. The noise from the show continued on through our meal - which made it very unenjoyable for us. This was a date night for us, and yet we couldn't hear one another. We resorted to texting one another at one point. It would be one thing if we could understand the music, but the acoustics were pretty terrible (at least in the restaurant area), and a melody couldn't even be made out. This is standard Christmas music we're talking about here, and we couldn't even recognize it over the bass. Paying over $30 a person to eat mediocre food and text message with one another across the table was pretty disappointing, especially when we had planned this as a date night based off of previous experiences. Luckily we had a gift card, so it did not feel like we wasted our own money - and they did validate our parking stub. Oh - speaking of the gift card, they could not process it at the restaurant, and had to take it to the Front Desk. If Yelp allowed half stars, this experience would be a 2.5. . .which is a shame. 2 years ago I would've given it a 5.

Came for the Shrek Character breakfast. Everything was good. Especially loved the croissants as they were fresh baked and was delish. Service was good and the character interaction was good. Everyone made certain that all the characters made their rounds to all the tables. I think the food has gotten better in the recent years, because I don't remember the food being as good as it was.

Best Buffet in Orlando! Located inside the Gaylord Palms Hotel!! Chefs cook the foods placed on the Buffet Table! The PRIME RIB is tender and good but .. Not as good as how my daddy would cook his! Holidays gatherings it is PACKED AND BOOKED HERE so make sure you make reservations or if the place is booked you can patiently wait and you will be seated if reserved seats are no shows! Orange juice served here is freshly squeeze and you can taste it because they use this to serve the Mimosas! TRY THEIR FAMOUS SANGRIA! If you dine here sit outside atrium area! Gorgeous ambience and you feel you are outdoors but you are literally indoors! Upon entering they will ask you if you have reservations and you can request your seating area whether indoor or outdoor atrium. Then they will send you to a chef that will explain the array of stations filled with gourmet style foods! The highlight to me were the Prime Rib, Smashed Cauliflower with Gruyere, Huge Cocktail Shrimps, and the dessert table! The thing was I ate breakfast prior so for me to eat every station was hard! Next time I will skip breakfast and starve to fully enjoy the whole array of foods in every station! Drink service was slow at times due to the place was busy packed! The price here is very pricey on a Holiday Day but regular days the price is lower. This is def an experience and Will def go back! Might throw my bday event here next year!!

Glorified sizzler- I was so disappointed. In the quality of the food. There are 6-7 stations of mediocre food that you will probably not enjoy. The cost is $40 per person when it should be closer to $10. My recommendation is leave the hotel and eat anywhere outside of the hotel for lunch. WHAT A BAD EXPERIENCE - After spending $300 to get my family the Vip experience at ice (fantastic) this almost ruined are day

I stopped in here for breakfast two mornings in a row. They have a fairly extensive set of breakfast offerings. Both mornings I opted for an omelette - with onions, mushrooms, spinach, and jalapeños, and cheddar cheese - plus sides of smoked salmon and Applewood smoked bacon. And a glass of tomato juice and water to go with it. Both mornings my Omelette was excellent! But they also offer pretty much everything else you can think of: pancakes, waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes, sausage gravy and biscuits, toast, English muffins, Bagels, fruit, cereals, oatmeal, yogurt, and a lot more! Service was excellent! Prices are steep - hence my docking them a star. $26.00 and change each morning for my breakfast.

BEST RESTAURANT IN ORLANDO!! This place is such a hidden treasure. Food is always awesome, great service, and such a wonderful ambience/atmosphere. Also, unlike so many other restaurants in Orlando you can actually hear the dinner conversation from your own table without raising your voice.

We love great experiences and this place is def worth it! Great atmosphere with good food and since it is buffet, chefs that work the stations are very accommodating with those with diff food allergies.

Today, my family & I got together to celebrate a special occasion at Villa de Flora. Having been to the buffet for dinner service previously, I had no objections. The last time I was there was probably 3 years ago and I would have given them a 5 star review. We came in for brunch service and were seated promptly. My aunt had made reservations earlier in the week for 14 people but they were unable to access that information because their computers were down. Despite the rush of people rolling through the doors and our reservation hiccup, the staff members were very happy and quick to accommodate us. There are 6 stations consisting of breads, cheeses, dessert, salads, seafood, meats, and pasta. The meat station is kind of cool because you can choose your choice of meat and they will slice it, add any sides or sauces you might want, and serve you. And at the pasta station, you can order your choice of pasta, sauce, and meat fresh to order. Okay, so why the 2 star review? Once upon a time this food used to be good (when they first opened). Today--- there were looks of disappointment all across the table :/ unfortunately their food is made for quantity and not quality. Everything tasted like it was pulled out of the freezer and defrosted. Definitely not worth the $40 per person price. What a waste. Our table had ordered a few Bloody Mary's and Mimosas which were also disgusting too (c'mon who's bartending back there?!?!?). At the end of the meal I couldn't believe they were charging $12 for one Mimosa. Seriously? The only pleasant part of our dining experience was our service. Our servers were absolutely helpful, sweet, and attentive to our needs. My suggestion is you take your appetite elsewhere. International Drive is right down the road and packed with so many great dining options. I am never coming here again.

Only reason it's not 5 stars is the selection isn't huge and they didn't have the granola and yogurt station as advertised. That being said, they did bring me granola and the food they had out was AMAZING! Pork loin and salmon being my favorites. Deserts were very good as well.

Villa de Flora is a self-serve AYCE (all-you-can-eat) buffet with 5-6 stations of freshly-thawed food. It's food for the masses with quality that falls well below the price. Of course, you don't have many great choices at Gaylord Palms, so, if you want a buffet, this is it. Pasta is the dish to get for dinner. Not only is it freshly prepared to your taste, but it is done so by a jovial pasta ninja behind the counter. After sampling the pasta during my first "buffet run" and then trying all the other pre-made options, it was an easy choice when going back which station to hit a second time. Options included Flank Steak, Ham, Chicken, Beef, Salmon, Salads, Breads, Cheeses, and Desserts. It's all pretty standard looking fare. The worst of the bunch was thin (but soggy) Pizza and flavorless Hummus with hard Pita. For a gut-bustin' feast at Gaylord Palms, Villa de Flora probably is the best option for stuffing yourself silly, but it is the epitome of 2-star food despite the friendly team working the dinner shift.

Reasonable selection of foods. The quality was decent, not great. For 40$ dinner price may be aligned w resorts, and factors in to rating - but is a bit high. I have tried a number of better Med restaurants that were superior quality w better return for price. The service appeared friendly.

One of the best Sunday brunch restaurants in Orlando. They have carving stations among 10 other stations. Get the unlimited mimosas and champagne that goes great with the ample dessert offerings.

Wow - I've never seen a breakfast buffet this large outside of Vegas. They had everything! Pancakes, any and all types of bread/muffin/donut things, lots of hot choices, a grains bar with oatmeal & grits and omelettes made to order. As a nice bonus, they have tons of fruit if you want to be healthy and a bar with cold cuts & cheese if you want to be European. If you aren't into making a spectacle of yourself (and if you're paying $25/pp you'd better eat up!) there is a small ala carte menu. I appreciate that the buffet containers are not huge, meaning they are attended to and replenished regularly. Service really shouldn't be an issue at a buffet but we had a hard time getting coffee refills. Why not just make that self serve too? If you're into strapping on the feedbag, and you don't think too hard about how many people have probably coughed/touched/picked their nose, then head on over!

The food was just okay, which made it very pricey all things considered. I was disappointed and will avoid on future trips. I was hoping for a nicer buffet, but it was just standard. Even the desserts didn't dazzle me.

This was the second time my family had brunch. The first time was the day after my wedding so I don't remember much. This second time was for a belated Mother's Day Sunday Brunch. The food that they had was pretty good. Nothing spectacular but not horrible either. I just feel that there wasn't enough. Meaning, for the breakfast--sure, they had bacon, sausage, waffles, omelets, and eggs benedict. But where the home fries or croissants or grits or variety of fruit? For lunch there was a carving station with one meat, chicken tenders fries, some kind of paella, a broccoli dish and mashed potatoes, and two salads. Where were the other veggies? Maybe some kind of roasted or baked chicken? I do have to say that there was a large amount of dessert choices, including ice cream but none of them did anything for me. I just think that for the price, there are better brunch/breakfast places out there.

Every year we attend the Ice Exhibit at the Gaylord Palms, and when we do we always eat brunch at the buffet at Villa De Flora. The food and service are always good. The buffet has some nice anti-pasti, tasty meats and cheeses, salads and spreads, coq-au-vin, veggies, roasted red potatoes, carving station, breakfast foods and pasta bar. All the food is tasty enough, the roast beef was particularly nice. The deserts are very good as well, especially the lemon and peanut butter chocolate tarts which are scrumptious. Wine selection is limited but okay. Skip questionable shrimp and the weak coffee. Service is very good and the flow is good even when they are very busy. I will say this, we are going to have to start going to Ice first, it gets difficult to walk around once you have stuffed your fat gut on a tasty buffet.

Booked for valentines , had no idea until we arrived it was a mass buffet. Herded like sheep , no music , too bright . It looked like a cruise ship buffet so we left as food might have been amazing but the free for all buffet ( kids , people in shorts n flip flops whilst others in suits and evening dress )was in no way romantic so we saved our $65pp plus tips tax and left and left , thankfully the parking attendant felt sorry for us and we did not have to pay the crazy $18 parking and that was the highlight!

They don't have a major selections if items but I'm giving it 3-stars for its Prime Rib, Kabobs, and one of the best dessert menus I have ever laid my eyes on and devoured with instant gratification! So came out here on Thursday Night, kind of quiet not a really busy night for them. Buffet starts out at $32 per person and $16 for kids. They had live music playing and scenery was just awesome. Most of the seating was in the outdoor area although they do have indoor seating. You much rather sit outdoors as it has a view and that's where live music is coming from. Pros: Prime Rib (Beef and Lamb), Lamb Kabobs, Italian Meat Macaroni, White Chocolate. Ok-Ok: Salmon, Anti-Pesto Salad, Tomato Soup, Coconut Shrimp, and Tomato Sausage Cons: Cesar Salad, Brownies, and Soups

I must preface this review with noting that this is only based on the Sunday Brunch. If it were based on most other meals, this would be a 2-3 star review. My wife and I recently stayed at the Gaylord Palms, and decided to partake in the Sunday Brunch. I must say, the ingredients here all seemed quite fresh, and there was a good variety that allowed you to eat as healthy or as bad as you wanted. I chose the more glutonous route, opting for copious portions of delicious prime rib. It was quite good, as was most everything else I tried. I also thoroughly enjoyed the make your own pasta station, as the pesto they used had a great flavor to it. For dessert, I do not recommend any of the chocolate pastries, the tended to lack much chocolate flavor. I opted for the Ice Cream, which is Haagen Dazs, and is rather awesome. Overall, it was a bit pricey, but was above my expectations for a buffet.

Villa De Flora is an upscale buffet inside of the Gaylord Palms Hotel/Resort. They have a variety of Mediterranean menu items like paella, osso buco and antipasti and more standard fare like roast beef, roast chicken and pizza. The atmosphere is very nice and the service excellent, but the food is very average. Some items were not very authentic, like the paella was just a yellow rice dish with some mussels thrown on top -- not the meat and vegetable mixture most would expect. Even the desserts while very well presented where kind of boring tasting. Villa De Flora might be ok for a big party if you are in the area and trying to please everyone, but you can get better food (especially for the price) somewhere else around town.

Have come here over the years for brunch and went again yesterday. While the food was fresh looking it was nothing, absoLUTELY nothing special. There is nothing they serve any more that's particularly good, unique or especially tasty. Watching someone take rolls out of a plastic bag and put them out cinched it for me..this is Hojo's buffet food (okay maybe one little step up). While the setting is okay, we found the napkins were nearly worn out to the point of not wanting to use them, the seats were stained. As usual areas throughout the 'lobby' were roped off and blocked so you had to have a compass to make your way around, so even the setting of the hotel atrium was annoying rather than a plus. Add the fact that a "bottomless" mimosa and brunch is $51 plus tip and this is no longer special at all. If you're in the area, particularly on an expense account or something, it's okay. It's not worth a drive, and we won't be going back since there are either similar places for WAY less $ or nicer places for that price to choose from. Disappointed....

My boyfriend and I were staying at the Gaylord Palms for a sales meeting at my company. On our first night, we decided to eat at the hotel, and I was trying to find which restaurant would accommodate my boyfriend, who doesn't eat seafood (all the other restaurants, except the pricey/formal steakhouse were seafood-centric). I was pleasantly surprised with the buffet at Villa de Flora. I am not normally a fan of buffet food: lukewarm, monotone, unflavored, edible quality at best, but Villa de Flora renewed my faith in buffets. This is a Mediterranean restaurant, at which the menu changes daily based on a different Mediterranean country: Italy, Greece, Spain, Portugal, etc. The night we visited was Italian night, and everything in the buffet looked amazing. I started out with a fresh Caesar salad, savory marinated mushrooms, and a delightful tomato and cucumber salad. The antipasto was probably the best I've seen, and I had to go back for the Caprese salad, which was not to be missed. There were several entrees including swordfish, coconut shrimp (which was unbelievably sweet and crunchy), eggplant Parmesan, a pasta station and a carving station with Virginia ham and prime rib... toward which I gravitated. This prime rib was the best I have had in a long time. It was freshly sliced, perfectly cooked, tender, flavorful and juicy. I had to go back for seconds, and the roasted potatoes complemented the steak perfectly. My boyfriend loved the pasta station, where you could choose from two different sauces and three types of pasta. A chef cooked your selections right in front of you. I almost didn't leave room for dessert, but I am glad I decided to check it out. My only disappointment was that there was no cannoli -- my favorite Italian treat. But the tiramisu and other pastries consoled me. There was plenty of selection. Our waiter was incredibly friendly, although service deteriorated a bit as our meal went on -- so much so that I had to pile my own plates on the edge of the table to make room to eat my next course. However, the price was very reasonable (about $35/pp for the dinner buffet), and I loved the fresh herb plant on the table. There was also a pot of clean silverware so you didn't have to worry about "keeping your fork." Villa de Flora was only my introduction to the amazing cuisine at the Gaylord Palms, and it was certainly a worthy one.

The breakfast buffet will cost you $25/person but it is definitely worth it. The food selection is amazing and non-alcoholic drinks are included. Needless to say on my last day at the Gaylord Palms, I stuffed my face here and then went and had a food coma on my flight.

Several years ago, I ate dinner at the Villa de Flora when staying in the Gaylord Palms. I remember it being decent, but not particularly memorable (especially given the inflated prices). Recently I was in the Gaylord again for a convention and had a breakfast meeting in the Villa de Flora. For $21, I expected much higher quality food. Instead, my poached eggs turned into a river of undercooked whites the minute my fork hit them; the bacon was chewy and greasy; and the meats were overly fatty. I didn't get to try the omelet station since there was a line and I needed to get back to my meeting; perhaps it's wonderful and would have improved my overall impression of the restaurant. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be back again to give it a second shot.

My family of 5 had breakfast here twice during our stay at the hotel. The level of service is incredible. From the minute you walk in the door you are treated like a VIP guest. The wait staff was tentative and incredible. Specifically two gentlemen one from Puerto Rico and the other from Peru! They made us feel like we were family! The food was amazing and they had a wide variety of options. Overall this was a great restaurant! I just wish they had brunch everyday instead of just on Sundays.

We had lunch here today as this was one of my favorites at the hotel in the past. The only reason I gave them one star is because of the excellent waiter that served us (Matt). As for the food, OMG what a disappointment, the $21 per person didn't bother me too much, but the food was not good. Plenty of salads and desserts. As for the meal, they had picadillo (ground beef), mahi and chicken. The taste of the food was disappointing. This meal is Worth maybe $9.00 per person. Come on guys, I realize everyone is cutting cost but this was gross. On top of everything we ended up at Walgreens buying stuff for heartburn. I hope for their sake that they were just having a bad food day, because if this is how it is all the time, they will end up closing soon. Like I said this place has always been a favorite of mine, but not today.

very expensive and very average breakfast buffet. Unfortunately, outside of a coffee shop, this hotel has guests trapped for breakfast. As more development moves in near the Gaylord, this will disappear. This is very old Vegas like. Expect runny eggs, fatty meats and a buffet which runs out of items and doesn't seem to replenish. After 1 meal here, i found other alternatives.

I pretty much hate buffets, but the Villa De Flora does a good job of disguising the fact that it IS a buffet. The food stations had piping hot, well prepared, incredibly edible food! The breakfast was amazzzzzzing, with all the usuals, and more sliced mango than any one person could eat. The lunch was also very good, with a pasta bar, some tasty potatoes, a few different meats and a large antipasto section. And the desserts were restaurant quality, with no buffet scariness at all. Villa de Flora isn't cheap, but it doesn't taste cheap either so you get what you're paying for!

Went here for breakfast with Shrek. The place was empty and poor princess Fiona was wearing the worst wig I have ever seen! My son liked meeting them though and they did spend a lot of time at our table. My son kept asking where puss n boots was but he was not there :(. The food was pretty bad too and it was slim pickings for a buffet. For $30 per person we expected more. I have been here also for regular brunch and it was better than the Shrek breakfast but not great and definitely not worth the price.

We have been dining at Villa De Flora for years! Every Holiday and Birthday Celebration.. It was my Mom's favorite place- She was in a wheelchair and they always took such good care of us and made her feel special!!! The food is outstanding! The Prime Rib is the very best and the selections are amazing!! The cheese, bread and salads alone would fill me up! Great desserts! The service is outstanding!!! It is 5 star services.. Don't miss out on this amazing experience!!!!!

They serve brunch until 3pm, and we were running late for everything, so figured we may as well go somewhere nice. I have been to The Gaylord before, but never in the daytime, and that alone was a really enjoyable experience, to stroll the atriums, see the alligators, koi, and baby gators in the lakes. I love the outdoors inside concept. The restaurant was what I expected, not amazing by any means, and overpriced (Came to about $80 for 2), but good, safe, plentiful food, in BEAUTIFUL surroundings. The food was all very fresh and well presented, the salmon was not at all fishy, and much better than you would expect from a buffett, I also really enjoyed the scalloped potato. Anthony enjoyed the custom omlettes, and there was an excellent dessert selection. Now the meh. This place can't really decide what it is doing....breakfast or lunch? I know BRUNCH, but it never fully accomplishes either meal. There was plenty of food, but there wasn't a full lunch meal to be had, or a full breakfast. Lacking items such as toast, breakfast potatos, simple green salad, and quite a bit of food that I personally do not want to see before 5pm, like hummus, and paella is what knocks off the fifth star.... Will I be back? Of course, I love The Gaylord, and it was a lovely relaxing experience.....it just could have been much better.

I am so not a buffet person... but this... this is so beyond a "buffet" ! The food was GREAT! We went on Greek night so the lamb abounded and was delish ! Build your own Gyro, fish, pasta, carving station, cheeses and dips, salad, dessert were all fantastic. Would def dine here again !

Breakfast buffet at Gaylord Palms. Solid service and very respectable food for a buffet. Everything was fresh, and a huge selection. We had fresh omelets prepared very nicely. Not sure if it was worth $22.50, but if you're hungry I guess you could get your money's worth.

A great place for a drawn out brunch. ...we went here for a corporate holiday luncheon, and later with our respective families and I was dually impressed each time. The various entree stations are amazing - so much to choose from at all the various stations: the gourmet omelet, king prawn shrimp & seafood, carved meats, and chocolate fruit fountain. Delicious.

If you were to ask anyone to describe me, gluttonous would not even cross any of their minds. In fact they would say that would be the exact opposite of what I am. I am one who avoids buffets not only because I hate eating food that has been sitting out for hours, under heat lamps an chafing dishes, but also, I never, EVER, eat my monies worth of food. This place took my culinary world and turned it upside down. (Okay, that maybe a bit exaggerated, but only slightly) When I first saw the name of this restaurant, I was very skeptical. I was never a fan of Mediterranean food, so I was not looking forward to it. I'm not sure if what I thought was Mediterranean food in the past truly Mediterranean food, or if I was just eating Mediterranean food gone bad, but THIS FOOD WAS AMAZING. The selection was ginormous. So many different food choices to choose from and it all looked sooo good. I had to try a little of everything, and then go back again. Everything tasted so good I and the selection was so diverse I can't even pick out a favorite. You seriously have to try everything. One of my friends I was with absolutely loved to soups. Like seriously loved. She kept going back again, and again, and again, AND AGAIN (no exaggeration there) for more soup. She even thought it was so good she took plain pasta from the pasta station and poured the soup over it. She didn't stop there, she started mixing soups and trying it with different things. Saying she loved the soup is an understatement. But lets not stop there. Every buffet needs to have a dessert table, and Villa De Flora by far exceeds that expectation. Every single dessert was amazing, and it is impossible to make only one trip, nor fit everything on just one plate. Now, over the years, my sweet tooth has tamed down a lot. Now days, if I go for dessert (if I go for dessert at all) I usually have an easy time limiting myself. But oh boy, I hulked out and lost control. There was no holding me back. The amazing thing tho, is that none of the desserts were too sweet. They were all PERFECT. Overall, an amazing experience. It's just too amazing for me to give you any details. If I could, (and if i had the pocket book to) I would seriously eat here every day. Nuff said.

For $40+ per person at 7:30 pm on a Saturday evening we anticipated a nice meal. The reality was that the beef was far from prime, overcooked to well done,I chewy and there no sauces to cover it up as the trays were empty. The antipasti offering was basic with a few decent items. Unfortunately there were also empty trays here too. For the folks in our party that wanted pasta, the wait was 40 minutes from placing the order to getting the food. There were several of us in the dinner party and each one of us felt ripped off and left hungry. Our recommendation is to avoid this restaurant. Unfortunately this will take the Gaylord Palms property out of the mix when we each or all of us return to Orlando.

I was staying at the Gaylord Palms Hotel for a few days while my boss was at a conference for her job. I am a nanny and was caring for her sweet, little nugget baby. I was so glad when I found Villa de Flora. I wheeled the little one into the entry and we were instantly greeted by 2 very helpful staff members who toured us through the buffet. They let us know where everything was located and then helped us to a table. Waitstaff was incredibly friendly, professional and accomodating. To prove how nice it was there, little one fell asleep quickly in her stroler and wasn't disturbed until it was time for us to roll. There is a great diversity of food to choose from. We went for brunch one time and lunch on another day. I stuffed myself on buffet goodness for sure. :) There is only one down side to the restaurant. The price. But, granted, you are somewhat of a victim to the "compound" since there really isn't anything immediately outside to go to for food. However, if you add in the fantastic customer service, the quality of the food and the atmosphere, it makes it (almost) worth the attack on your wallet. (Ok, and let's be honest....I wasn't paying for it myself, but I still felt a bit guilty about eating somewhere "on the job" that cost so much).

Good buffet food! It's located in the middle of the Gaylord Palms. Awesome atmosphere. Service is fantastic for a buffet style restaurant. Every time my glass was 1/4 full, the waiter would bring me another glass without me even noticing! Plus, I came with a large group and they seated us no problem.

Tried the Sunday Brunch -Great atmosphere, friendly hostess. We liked the eggs benedict & crusted salmon. 4 for the atmosphere / 3.5 for the buffet! Brunch Stations: Fresh bread & cheese, olive bar, pre-made salad bar, various breakfast selections, french country lunch, 2 soups, Large shrimp cocktail, pastas & omelets made to order & a carving station - 2 meats. Overall, we would say that the buffet had interesting selections and everything tasted fine.

Had a terrible lunch here. Not very good at all. Everything just looked terrible on the buffet. I ended up just eating a plate of pasta and some pizza. I tried some things and they just were not good at all. For the price, it's honestly not worth it.

So my father in law treated us out to brunch here a couple years ago and it was very nice. They surprised me with a huge sundae for my birthday. Of course, I told my father in law not to do that, but he did anyway...lol. The buffet had anything you could imagine and the staff was very friendly. The food was fresh. The hotel is beautiful by the way. It's time to spend the big bucks here!

I have stayed at the Gaylord Palms many times and continue to be impressed with this Mediterranean Buffet. In general I am not a fan of buffets, but often dine at hotel buffets because of time constraints and there relatively good value. However, this restaurant certainly stands out. The only danger is that you must save some room for their wonderful desserts. Brunch is the best meal here where you get a tremendous variety of breakfast, and other entrees like shrimp cocktail, and crusted salmon. The pasta bar for lunch and brunch uses very fresh ingredients. The salad bar and bread are unusually good for a buffet. It is not quite at the level of a fancy Four Seasons or Ritz-Carlton brunch, but the outstanding salads, and breads really make this a wonderful place to have a meal or a lunch meeting/discussion. I do not quite understand why people complain that it caters to the conventions crowds as this is one of the larger hotels and convention centers in Orlando after all. The important thing is that they do not cut corners on quality as most restaurants today do. It is getting to the point where in many diners and other breakfast and lunch restaurants that you cannot find decent bread of bagels. If you make the trip to Villa De Flora you will not be disappointed.

The food was awesome it is set up as a buffet and self serve but the food was very delicious and fresh. Something for everyone and a great value for the price. The decor and atmosphere were wonderful felt like I was in Italy. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Exceptional! Not your typical, fatty buffet, because all their entrees and appetizers were prepared fresh. I enjoyed the different salads, breads, and desserts! the prime rib was BOMB.COM. i liked how there was a customized pasta too. The servers were courteous. place really looked like a villa. definitely reminded me of Vegas. I would def. recommend this, price was pretty expensive, but was very worth it.

This restaurant is found in the middle of the Gaylord Palms hotel. Every night they have a different countries cuisine highlighted in a buffet. Most is usually pretty good. The only thing lacking is their dessert choices.

I typically shy away from buffets... however, this one did not disappoint. I recently was at the Gaylord for a conference and had breakfast at the Villa De Flora. There were TONS of choices, every breakfast food imaginable. PLUS a chef ready to take your custom omelet order. The food was all fresh and clearly hadn't been sitting out for hours. The ambiance is cute, you are meant to feel like you are dining al fresco. The service was good. Overall, a nice place to fill up on your breakfast faves!

I am not normally a fan of buffets, but Villa de Flora was quite good. All the food way very tasty and well-prepared. My only complaint was with the dessert. My fiance and I were there for "Italy night" (they rotate the foods from different Mediterranean countries each night), and we were very dissapointed in the cannoli, which were filled with plain whipped cream (??) instead of the usual ricotta cheese cannoli filling. Also, the panna cotta was pretty much molded whipped cream from the same place they got the cannoli filling. All the little cakes were lacking a bit, too. So the only downside was the dessert, which is maybe a positive thing after all the other food we ate!

I just had the time to finally post our experience here. We went here for a dual celebration of two relatives (a birthday and a graduation) with some guests even coming from Canada. Given the significance of the celebration and the overall stress of having a large group, I was looking forward to a happy, if not welcoming, atmosphere, and of course excited to have a buffet. In retrospect, it was here that I realize how much the attitude of the servers would affect our enjoyment of the meal. Coming in, the place was a bit disorganized. There were no hosts or greeters to show us the table to our party or just to show us where to sit. And this was a day when the place was not even packed. There were more than a few tables empty. I say this because it was surprising that the organizer/ graduate gal even had to get into an argument with the head server (Mauricio if I remember correctly) just to have some extra seats put in for our table. And it was not one of those short and quiet tones argument. The head server raised his voice several times and the organizer had to raise her voice to be heard too. Frankly, it was embarrassing. I'm not sure if it was his usual temperament or if he was having a bad day or what. But then, the head server began banging plates and utensils when he was placing it on the table, and would rudely nudge the people to ask something. I guess it's really bad when my usually dense sister also wondered if he was mad or something. When the cakes were brought out, I guess the head server tried to make up for it by making sure the candles were lit and by taking a picture. But at that point, the damage was done. I just had the uncomfortable feeling that he was just trying to be nice to get a high tip. Maybe it's just our bad luck to have him as the head server because everyone else had been friendly. I would also like to commend the server taking our drinks because that is how I would expect the head server to act. He was always smiling and courteous. I think what endeared him to me was how he was attentive even to the kids. My nieces were thrilled to have him ask them directly instead of usually referring to the adult beside them. Other than the service, the food was good albeit with a more limited option than what I remembered. I hope the management would show more supervision. A training on customer service would also not go amiss. Food 3.5 stars Service 1.5 stars

Far from great, but if your goal was to eat and leave with a full belly...check. Lighter wallet...check. This is a place where I was half a thought from adding in a negative tip to take back a few percent and make a point. But the point would stick the wrong people. A lower rating on Yelp is more appropriate. Your milage may vary. Though staying off-property this trip we're very familiar with and have enjoyed other Gaylord experiences in Texas and Tennessee. We ventured to Villa De Flora with hopeful expectations. Gaylord properties are lovely places with lovely possibilities. They're also overpriced, understaffed to poorly staffed, poorly trained (or just not motivated,) and are struggling to redefine themselves. Maybe. Orlando is no different. Villa De Flora...beautiful place. Clean place. It's a buffet? Ok. I like buffet. Serve yourself at your leisure. Oh. But, they didn't prepare for our reservation. Hmm. And six people is considered a large party. Really? Ok. That includes an automatic gratuity. Hmm. Whatever. We're hungry and with a small child. There are 100+ peeps at a wedding dinner for a separate party (I'm not paying that tip!) Staff attention is clearly focused there. They can probably keep the checks straight. And I could probably notice. The food is good to ok, but at more than $30 US per plate it could have been exquisite. It rates as fair cruise ship or casino food. Ok. We're tourists today sailing Tourist Class. Check. Wine flights included bad pours from too long opened bottles and had to be returned thanks to unskilled bar staff. A beer list was delivered after the fourth request arriving late at the end of the meal. Too late. Note to Gaylord: You need to clearly identify your target guest at each establishment and market effectively. You're losing the shrinking family guest and confusing the rest...but you know that, so do something about it. # # #
