Being in the mood for traditional Puerto Rican food, we chose Rancho Latino. The food was ok but the service was atrocious. I don't blame the waitresses because they only had two servers for over 100 people. The place was full to capacity with people waiting outside and all they had were two servers. We had to wait over 30 minutes just to order our drinks. This late lunch took over two and a half hours from start to finish and it just seemed like complete chaos. The place is small but they do have a few tables outside. They had a small band playing traditional PR music and it was loud! I could barely hear the people in my party and we were all very close together. The food was ok! After being extremely hungry and having to wait an hour to get served your basic rice and beans with pork, your expectations seem to rise. My Pernil/Pork was good but nothing like the pork I've had in PR. My rice came out warm as if it had been sitting for awhile. The Habichuelas/Beans were tasteless and bland. I'm used to my wife's cooking which is direct from the island and my taste buds are spoiled in that sense. The Roasted Chicken was good but again, everything came out warm, not hot. We didn't have the patience to order the dessert because it probably would have taken another hour and we just wanted to go home. If I go back, I will go on a weekday and this time I will take out.

This restaurant is authentic in Puerto Rican food. I was there 6/28/09, they play live typical Puerto Rican music, this place gets packed. I felt like i was in Puerto Rico. I will recommend it to anyone, must try the cuajito and their yellow rice.

Amazing food!! It is a small place that fills up fast, so it's best to get there early.
