The black pudding here is amazing as well as the chicken chow mein. It is worth the wait as food is cooked as ordered. I highly recommend the take out service. The food is well seasoned and gets five stars from me and my family. Give them a try. Oh and the ambiance is nice for dining in.

So sad that this place doesn't have more positive reviews. After reading the 1-star-review, I was nervous. But they did not disappoint. We had the puri, curry goat with rice and the jerk chicken. Everything tasted as delicious as we would had hoped. The boneless jerk chicken is spicy! But the chef did an amazing job bathing it in the perfect blend of spices for the right amount of time. As spicy as it was, it did not burn enough to numb the taste buds. I didn't even drink anything during dinner. The rice was perfectly cooked and not oversalted. The curry goat was so nice over the rice and it's the first time I ate West Indian goat without thinking it had too many bones. Our server-waitress, Jodian, was a little shy at first but very friendly and humble. She knew the menu well which is always nice. They played a fun mix of Indian/West Indian music which helped set the mood. I'm very pleased with this place and encourage you to try it! And our wait time for hot, tasty, fresh food.... 12 minutes! Thank you!

The food is really good, the price is not bad... The only negative thing is the wait time, which is understandable because the food is made fresh. Therefore, what we learned to do is call it in before going there...

We just had a delicious lunch at Kaieteur Tropical Mist restaurant. It is a Guyanese gem, in the middle of a desolate strip mall and although we were the only ones in the restaurant because it was 2pm, and the neighborhood is shady, we appreciated the home cooked meal. I recommend the cabbage and bora with chicken and dhal puri--mouth watering good.

This place is delicious. They really know how to cook. Just thinking of their fried rice with chicken is making my mouth water. My husband like to get the whole fish and he loves it. The rice and noodle portions are big enough for you to take home leftovers. All of the curry dishes I have tasted are so so good. The goat curry had a lot of bones though. I don't like the chow mein much but I never like chow mein anyway. And do not eat without pouring on their pepper sauce. I don't know how they make it but I can't get enough. I always makes sure they put extra in my take out order so I can have some to spare.They also have bread and pine tart and cheese roll to sell in front which is a plus. All of that said, it does take long for your order to come out. I always prefer take out because of that. Also the last time I went, it had a funny smell. Hopefully that was just a one time deal because I have been there plenty of times and it was not a problem.

I visited this restaurant this month (April 2013). Food is delicious. Portions are fair for the price. Unfortunately, the wait time for the food is extremely long. From the time you place your order to the time it is delivered averages 60 minutes. This is not bad if the expectations are given up front when you are placing your order. What upsets me is the owner will set expectations at 30 minutes. I have eaten here many times over the years. Their food is good. I can tell you that TIME is a consistent issue at Tropical Mist. I would not recommend eating there unless you have a lot of time to waste. I strongly recommend TAKE OUT only and place your order at least an hour before you are ready to pick it up.
