At first, the restaurant was named T.J. Applebee's RX for Edibles and Elixirs. After the concept was acquired by W.R. Grace and Company, the restaurant was renamed as Applebee's Neighborhood Grill & Bar. Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.

I am not a fan of Applebee's and this night made me remember my reason. We were starving and it was quite late. This was pretty close to our rental so we took a chance. It took about twenty minutes for us to be greeted as we had to seat ourselves after waiting by the door for seven minutes. We ordered drinks which were not good. We both ordered the same chicken dish which was a tough chicken breast covered in fried cheese. They could have kept that. Nevermind, you get the picture. I'm done with this review.

Haven't been here in over a year, don't know what happened in that time but the place has clearly gone WAY down hill. Walked into the restaurant, not busy, there were 4 servers and no hostess. We waited 10 minutes. Severs kept passing us by and either glaring or totally ignoring us, not even a "hello." One server, a pregnant gal, did acknowledge us and told us someone would be there to seat us in a few minutes. Another 10 minutes goes by, the hostess finally appears, asks us how many people in the party then rudely tells us to step to the side. Does the same thing to the next 2 groups that come in. At this point there's our group [ 5 people], and two other groups of 4 crammed into the tiny "side" seating area while there's more then half a restaurant empty. The hostess is hanging out and making conversation with the waiters. 2 more groups come in, and get immediately seated. Needless to say we just left the restaurant. Not worth it, won't be going back any time soon.

Walked in. Waited to have our drinks ordered. No one came. Two others sat after me and my fam came in, they were served. 15 minutes go by.... Asked for a manager. Let him know we waited and nothing. He apologized. We then left. The end.

We had a great experience at this Applebee's. We sat at the bar and the bartender was pleasant and very attentive. She was talkative and very informative. We are regular customers at our neighborhood in AZ. It's nice to be able travel to different cities and get the same quality of food and service

Had supper here Saturday when we got into town and the service was horrible. Sat ten min before I had to get up and ask for my waitress and even tell them the table besides me had no drinks as well. Took another ten min to get drinks before ordering and was brought my salad with my meal instead of before, the bad thing is three of us had salads and she only brought two out and said oh I thought you wanted yours with the meal. My daughter went to ask her for tea she said she would get it took fifteen minutes for a refill. Never again. Not once did a manager even come talk to us.

I feel like you can never go wrong at Applebees. Years ago (like 8 lol, God I'm getting old) I used to feel the complete opposite. But within the last 4-5 years, its grown on me. I'm from NY and on a weekday Bees, is probably my go to thing if I feel like having a sit-down-and-eat-day with anyone. I love their happy hours and the deals are great, but even then I still go because the food is good and the dessert calls my name. Triple Chocolate Meltdown baby! So this day in particular, it was a few hours on a weekday that I was getting ready to fly out of Orlando my new Floridian friend decided to treat me to lunch. I was a cheap date lol ;) 1/2 price appetizers at the bar with the purchase of a drink. So I had a lemonade with the chicken quesadilla. Probably came up to about 8 bucks. It wasnt a little taco bell sized thing either. The lemonade was delicious and thirst quenching for that Florida weather. The bartender was SUPER nice :) Everything looked really clean. There's a lot of restaurants in this area. This bees is really good for a cheap lunch.

People have certain ways that they deal with an unacceptable restaurant experience. Some send their food back, some complain to the manager, some make a scene. I do none of those. I just write about the experience, and then don't go there for a long time again, if ever. I placed a Carside to-go order, as Applebees is one of the few places open after 10pm. My order was scheduled for pickup at 10:29pm that night. I show up at 10:35... I usually give five minutes extra because I know they make tight windows for getting such orders done, and it's easier than having to wait. Wait I did. I went to the bar area, because it's after 9pm and you must go inside the restaurant to retrieve your order. I let a hostess at the bar know I had a Carside order and would like to pick it up 'when [she gets] a chance'. She nods, says okay. She disappears, perhaps on break. I don't know. I wait patiently ten minutes, knowing my food is getting cold. I then ask another hostess if someone can retrieve my order. She says she'll let someone know because it's a financial transaction and she can't handle money. Maybe she was a busser. But she did look like she went off to talk with someone in the kitchen. More than another 10 minutes go by. My food's now been resting for likely a half hour. I've asked two people for my food. I'm standing there by the bar area... by now I'm sure I'm looking cross. At this point I'm thinking I should get a manager. I NEVER get a manager. But I know a lot of people, hosts, hostesses, bussers, are passing me, and I know I've asked twice. Instead I do what is bound to get me what I need, passive-aggressively. I relocate right next to the order processing machine so that I cannot be missed. It takes five more minutes, but I get my food, finally. It's 11:05pm. A full half hour after I walked in and asked for it. It's cold. Completely cold. I'm not surprised. I'd pre-paid a tip with my order, which I suppose was another mistake I made. It wasn't much, only a few dollars, but it was only meant to take two minutes of a server's time, and two dollars for two minutes isn't a bad exchange. I won't be going back there for a long, long time. Do not do Carside after 9pm unless you want to bug the heck out of staff to have one finally trot out your order. That's not my way, and it's not where my money will go next time. There's no 1.5, so I'll reluctantly give them 2. They're less than 2, just not quite a 1. To be clear, the place was not packed. Most of the bar stools were full, and there were a small handful of tables with patrons. Which fits, for the time of night.
(2)Jonel F.
The place is super outdated I feel like the company needs to come out and provide funds for the place. The inside was a little dirty ( the lamps had a lot of dust, the tables out side still had glasses and never was cleaned up, Boogers inside my glass, and the edge of the windows had little bugs and dust). The service wasn't that bad it could of been better.. My whole rating would be 6/10..
(2)Rosie P.
2 for 1 drinks (the Rum Runner is my Fav) Food is good, They have a good Happy Hour for 1/2 off Apps from 10pm-Close
(4)Cathy F.
Not well-managed. Service was slow even though the place was far from full. Mistakes can happen, and we are generally understanding of this, but when wait staff and management offer poor excuses and a begrudgingly apologetic attitude, there's no chance they'll be getting our repeat business.
(1)Ricardo M.
I never tried Applebee's for lunch, now With lights of day I seen that the place is old and it needed deep cleaning, food was good but now I have upset stomach :(
(3)Tom M.
"Worst service ever" is what I told the manager who looked right at us several times and then sent a waiter to a table that was seated 10 minutes after we were seated. Never was able to place order, which is a shame because there couldn't have been more than 10 people in the restaurant.
(1)Janet R.
It's an Applebee. You come here because you know what toexpect. Food was good . Our server was part time bartender part time waiter.
(4)Terresa A.
Just like my Friday's review I guess we can't expect the local "Fast Food Sit In" restaurants to be anything other than NOT GOOD. We try to give these places a chance by going back and we can't figure out why we keep punishing ourselves. Seems like the kitchen can't seem to get it together when it comes to executing the food like it is supposed to be. We have issues with one thing or another each time we go in there. The good thing is the two for one draft beer that is served ice cold which makes it great! And the Chicken Won Ton Tacos.....when the kitchen puts the correct ingredients in them and does not send them out a soggy sopping cold mess. We tried a couple of mixed drinks and the bartender needs to go back to school they were not good at all and messed up my husbands stomach. So I guess I don't understand why management does not get better help or train better because the locals are the ones that should keep the place busy in the tourist off season but management around this area can't seem to grasp that concept. Don't really recommend this locations unless you want a cold beer and a small bite to eat or a salad.
