This place has an amazing beer selection and the bartender couldn't have been friendlier. It would definitely get a 5 but the music couldn't have been worse. I wish I could reference some of the music but my grandmother died 2 years ago so my source is no longer. I will be back but I now have the suicide hotline programmed on my phone just in case my depression sets in because of song choice. All I ask is you go old school with a jukebox or let someone in the bar control the vibe.

This is a great place to hang out and drink great beer. The bar is designed really well. The staff is outstanding. They remember what your favorites are and serve you quickly. It has a very cool European neighborhood pub type of feel. It's like nothing else I know of in Jupiter or the surrounding areas. With that being said, I will no longer be spending a dime in this place. The owner is a dick. It's a shame because everything, literally everything (except the lack of ANY specials EVER) about this bar is great. The owner has banned one patron from coming back because of an online review of the bar and he has threatened others that post anything negative. As anyone can see from the reviews on Yelp, this place receives nothing but 4 stars and above. However, every suggestion of how to improve is responded to by the owner in a personal message that consists of arrogant and condescending comments. As the owner of a bar that really isn't all that busy, I'd probably consider embracing the community not running them off. Oh and next time you go to YOUR bar you might want to shelve the frat boy act and watch the F bombs...staying sober might help that.

I first learned of this bar at the Jupiter Craft Brewers Festival last January, where they had a tent set up, and were pouring St. Bernardus Abt. 12 -- one of the best Belgian beers in the world. I quickly grabbed a flyer with their location and directions, and filed it away for a later examination. About a month went by before I found myself in Jupiter with time to kill, and drove by in the hopes of having a couple of good pints. Unfortunately, it was on a Monday -- the one day during the week when they are closed -- so I ended up popping a little further north to Tequesta Brewing for a few pulls on their taps. Another month went by before another opportunity presented itself, and last night was it. My daughter has fencing practice weekly in Jupiter, and usually I either take her to practice, OR pick her up 2 hours later, dividing the trip with my wife. Last night, schedules required me to do both, so rather than driving home, wasting an hour on the internet or playing Candy Crush or something, I decided to stay in Jupiter and explore a little. Dinner was the first thing on my agenda, and Sal's Express took care of that easily with a Turkey panini. In the shopping center just north of it -- northwest corner of Donald Ross and Military -- you will find the Specialty Beer Cellar. From the outside, it looks like any other strip mall store. Once you walk in, though, the owner has taken great care in making you feel like your in a tavern in Bavaria or Bruges, built into the side of what used to be some castle or church. I'm not exaggerating here, and I didn't drink but two glasses, either. They've really created some atmosphere. I even had to do a double-take when I saw the candles that were lit around the bar throwing a low light flickering glow on everything, and came to realize they were flameless and battery powered. From the furniture, to the brick on the walls floor to ceiling, to the wide wooden stools at the bar -- hell, even the bathroom doors slide side-to-side on rails like doors in a stable or mews for horses. By the way, possibly the cleanest bathrooms in a bar I've ever seen. On the wall by the bar is a long, vertical chalkboard, with all of the current brews on tap listed, with both their ABV and their price -- between $6 and $9 each. The bar itself is a large slab of poured concrete that almost feels like polished stone, cold to the touch, and broken up only by the large, white, ceramic tap handles sticking up between you and the barkeep, that identify the brews from the chalkboard all. Behind him in a huge wooden china cabinet, are glass shelves filled with glassware from all of the beers they serve, and your beer is most certainly served to you in the appropriate glass, identifying it for everyone at the bar. In addition to the 12 to 15 beers on tap, they have a menu with over 100 beers in bottles that you can either drink there, or just buy as if you were at Total Wine & More, and take home for later. An amazing selection, with a handful of microbrews from the U.S., but the bulk of their inventory hails from Belgium, Germany, and England. This is a tavern, not a sports bar -- don't go here thinking you can watch a game; there's no television hanging from the ceiling or mounted to the wall. There's music, but conversation seems to flow pretty regularly between other patrons and/or the bartender. At least for the time being, don't plan on having a meal here with your brews either -- other than pretzels and peanuts, there's no food to order. The bartender said they are planning on putting that together, so depending on when you are reading this, they might already have a sandwich menu. Call ahead and ask. There's 4 or 5 restaurants in the same strip, so you can easily find something to soak up your hops if need be. Although you could probably have quite a tasty -- and spendy -- 3 or 4 hour drinking session here, for me and fellow beer snobs, it's a great place to wind up a meal with a couple of well-traveled, hand-crafted pints and some reminiscing with friends or strangers.

The beer selection is great. The staff is fun and engaging. The owner down to earth and cool. The price point on retail is very good. When we came with a party of 4, Sean, one of the bartenders, recommended getting a larger bottle which we could all share. This is a true Jupiter spot.

Best kept secret in Jupiter. Amazing beer selection. Great staff! It's like a piece of true European pub heaven stuck in a typical Florida strip mall hell!!

LOVE this place!!! Great beer selection ... Very few but very yummy wine selections. The only reason they get 4 stars and not 5 is because they NEVER offer specials ... it is what it is ... go for the cool atmosphere ... but be prepared to pay for that !!!

Fun place to hangout - we played checkers and met some nice people there. Lots of craft beers, the service is excellent and the staff is so knowledgeable. The bartender did a beer tasting for me so I could find just the right one!

Small, quaint, cozy. I loved this place. It was very comfortable. There is a bar and a few high top tables and only a couple short tables. They also had outdoor seating, but it was chilly last night so we sat in a high top. The selections were fantastic. I think they had about 20+ beers on tap. And the bartenders were very helpful in helping us select from the variety. Neil enjoyed a Christmas flight and I enjoyed a St. Bernards Wit which was delicious... dessert in a cup! They had more beers to go than they had cold and on draft but the bartender said that was only because of fridge space. They have an excellent selection of beers to "go". The service was prompt and friendly. I will definitely be back.

The only reason I am not giving this place the 5th star is for the atmosphere. The beer is abundant, the service is excellent and the staff is knowledgable but the the atmosphere is disappointing. It is a small place with plenty of seating but the music ruins it for me. Think 'techno club music' and guys in Affliction shirts- that's what you'll get here. It feels like it should be more "indie" that it actually is. Coming from NY I got excited at the prospect of a new cool hangout. Maybe if you can fill the place with a cooler vibe it would work out. Another plus- you can order food in from anywhere!

1. Put your name in across the street at Coolinary Cafe 2. Cross the road and drink a tremendous beer or two as you wait for your table 3. Eat really well 4. Come back here for another - either on tap on premises, or bottled to go. Excellent selection of great beer, and helpful, knowledgeable staff.

When it comes to beer, THIS is the place! It's an odd find for a Publix strip mall, but once you're inside, it's fantastic. Great decor with a wonderful neighborhood hang-out kind of feel. If you enjoy the finer aspects of beer, you'll love this place. No Bud, Miller or anything like that here. It's all fine specialty beers from around the world. I suggest you tell your server what kind of beer you like normally (even if it's Bud) and then ask for a "flight" or sampler that would match that. They'll bring out 4 small glasses with different beers in each. You can try each and then enjoy another flight of 4 others or, if you find something you really liked, ask for a glass and enjoy. They don't serve food here, but there are a number of other restaurants in the shopping center who have menus in the Beer Cellar. Order a Pizza from Sal's or some Chinese food from the take-out place next door and enjoy it with your beers. I did have a bag of the Smoked Gouda cheese popcorn and it was amazing. Their license only allows them to serve pre-packaged foods. No biggie, it's not why I'd come here. So, grab some friends and head in one evening for a wonderful beer experience like you've never had before.

This is the opposite of Bud Light, hot wings and flat screens at any common sports bar.

Great staff with an amazing selection of beer !! If you love beer and want to get away from the normal dumb crowd of obnoxious people this is the best place to go ... No food except bar snacks like popcorn or pretzels , but you can bring your own food and eat at the bar with no hassles I frequent this bar at least 4 days a week and it's my go to spot bartenders are great and know what there doing with out making you feel as if your not qualified to be there cause you have no beer experience but they will gladly accommodate or let you sample the beers on draft great place I highly recommend it to anyone except assholes you know who you are ! A lil pricey but with quality comes a price ! Next time your in town try it out you won't be let down !

You like beer? This is the place - great recommendations from the house if you're not sure. Just tell them the kinds you like. Not pretentious, just good times. No food, just light snacks and serious beers!

Do you like craft beer bars where an inquiry about a particular beer is greeted with a grunt and a shrug? Where the bartender takes your order, leaves the bar to go high-five and chat with some bros, comes back about a full five minutes later and has to ask what your order (of 2 beers) was? Where you order a Saison and an IPA and, despite the fact the bar has hundreds of specialized beer glasses, they both get served in a tuliped Saison glass? Then by all means, come here. First off, we inquired about a Boulevard Specialty Sharing Bottle which was listed/advertised on the chalkboard with the drafts - and were told "well, there aren't any cold ones, so uhh... *shrug, look away*" Asked about another style and was completely ignored. Then the aforementioned order placement/ignoring of customers to "bro out"/forgetting of order/incorrect glass. The vibe inside the bar was a bit weird and frat house-ish (my girlfriend wasn't terribly happy/comfortable. Nor was I, for that matter.) and despite the solid beer list, I felt no desire to stay beyond the one. It's unfortunate... the bar is in a nice space, and we did meet and chat with some cool people drinking in the area outside the bar, where the vibe was more pleasant. There is a good draft selection on tap and decent bottle selection, though even in that I was incredibly disappointed with what seems like a complete disregard of local breweries - no Cigar City, for the love of god, not even any Tequesta or Due South - seems short-sighted and just added to my disappointment in the closed-off vibe the place puts forth. There seem to be several other fine brewery/beer halls options in shouting distance of this place (Tequesta Brewing Co., DAS Biergarten) which serve quality beer in a more pleasant, welcoming environment... I feel like this is the kind of place that gives craft beer a bad name, and can't imagine who'd want to come back (bartender's bros aside, of course).

Excellent beer selection. Great space, especially for a strip mall. But you will likely find yourself waiting far too long to get a beer in a place that only serves beer. The bartender is friendly, but easily distracted by chatting with friends rather than serving delicious brews. I like to think of this review as constructive, as in the bartender will read it and then, after calling me a few choice names (totally fine, we are all human), he will step up his service. Cheers.

This place is so different from anywhere around here. The beer selection is amazing and I love the idea of taking a couple of bottles with me on my way out. What makes this place truly unique though is the atmosphere. Its defining concept is that there are no TVs. When you look around, you see friends and couples all engaged in intimate conversation and I feel all warm and fuzzy knowing that this place didn't sell out to the sports bar crowd. I like the type of people that this place attracts, and talking to the bartenders/beer gurus is always good fun. The ambiance is also cozy, particularly around the holidays. I hear that they're going to be serving food soon and I can't wait to pair a beer with some gourmet cheese, etc! Highly recommended for anyone with a real appreciation for good beer and interacting with other humans.

I love this place for the beer, the atmosphere, and the staff. As a wanna be regular, it can be very difficult to enjoy the beer on a regular basis when I know that they are charging me no less than $2 more for the same beer that I can purchase at other establishments here and around the state. But I drink and pay no matter. I really enjoy the atmosphere and am truly thankful that it is not the "sports bar" atmosphere so often found at nearly every other establishment. More recently the owner has grown concerned that when major sporting events are televised, he looses business because there are no televisions within his establishment. My understanding is that the owner will soon be installing TVs to try and capture what he perceives to be a loss in market share. One assumes this expenditure on TVs will be several thousand $$$ and yet not once has the owner ever run a beer special during any sporting event in an effort to entice beer lovers to buy more beer. The TVs will surely change the identity of this establishment. But I drink and pay no matter. The owner hopes to attract more business by installing a kitchen that will be some what exposed and perhaps even integrated into the beer bar service area. Preparation for this transition will surely take away from the focus of beer. One assumes this "retrofit" will cost many $$$ of dollars with no guarantee that the intended goal of more business will be achieved. And yet the owner could easily attract more business if 3 beers were not $30. But I drink and pay no matter. As for the owner, I never met him....Though I do see him all the time. His staff always greets me with a friendly and professional acknowledgement and yet he has never once acknowledged any of the patrons other than those who he may have in tow while he shows off his lovely establishment. This is only my observation mind you! My feeling is that this is his club house and the patrons are only symbolic figures that justify the the expense of outfitting the place with enough bar stools for every one to sit. But I drink and pay no matter. I love this place and will wish them luck. My advice is to go and enjoy the identity that has been created while it lasts. As for me, I will drink and pay for now. EDIT: The owner sent me a private message reply. "The TV situation has been thought through and at this time we will not be installing them, but have some other ideas. In regards to specials, Specialty Beer Cellar does not offer them due to the cost involved. They are not cheap beers that I sell. Go to World of Beer and other high end beer pubs to see if they are going to give you free alcohol. You are at the Cellar for the experience and to converse with one another. Do you know every time I come into my pub, the communities pub Lawrence, that I ALWAYS give away free beer to many patrons, but guess you were not there and maybe sitting at you house writing not nice things because maybe you have nothing else better to do. Not sure? With all due respect of course Lawrence! Giving away beer that has a cost margin and what everyone else is paying for is what it is. Do you own a pub? Maybe you should to see the cost. Lawrence my prices are extremely fair because I stay within the market frame. Easily attracting more business for less than what the product is gives you what Lawrence? It gives you a zero margin. Right? Hey but drink and pay no matter, right? For you to say that I don't acknowledge any of my patrons is total and blatant hearsay and laughable at the same time. Do you sit and watch people to make ridiculous accusations such as these statements here. But I forgot, this is ONLY your observation and you did make it clear to the yelp community. Maybe the symbolic figure in which you stated is the warped mindset that you carried when writing this and the barstool for you to create this pathetic attempt at degrading my place and the communities place of business and relaxation. But drink Lawrence and pay no matter. For people such as yourself, the last thing that I need is luck from you or anyone that would even write this garbage. I have done nothing for you to incite such crap! Here is my advice to you, "Go and enjoy the identity that has been created in your head while it lasts because you have NOTHING else better to do and maybe start your own bar to give away the Budweiser, Coors, & Sam Adams specials that the Beer Cellar does not participate in. While you are at it, go and find another place to drink at since you don't like it here. I will save you the hassle. As for me I will have a drink now and pay later.LOL!!!"

This bar fills a niche that was previously missing in the Jupiter area, and is located in a plaza that is very convenient for most Jupiter residents (the Abacoa Publix plaza). While the beer scene is South Florida is fiercely competitive, the Specialty Beer Cellar chooses to specialize in European beers or European-Style beers. The array of beers are wide and varied, ranging from Stouts from Sri Lanka to Scotch Ales from Scotland to an IPA from California, with many beers from every country in-between. The owner, Vincent, is a swell guy who has ensured that his beers are fairly priced, and excels in making a guest feel like he's known them his whole life. No other bar in the area fills the missing niche of European beers like Specialty Beer Cellar does. With fairly priced beers that most residents have probably never heard of or drank, Specialty Beer Cellar is poised to become a local favorite. The beers are great, the atmosphere is classic European (Wood paneling, huge selection, wooden bar stools, lots of space and cool, comfortable lighting) It has certainly earned my repeated business, and is worth investigation at the least from the large amount of beer aficionados that reside in the Jupiter and North Palm Beach area.
