Great breakfast/lunch diner close to the JB causeway (located at IR Drive & JB Blvd). There's a large parking lot in the back, so don't bother trying to park in the limited street spots that are shared by several other businesses. Expect to wait on weekend mornings (especially during snow bird season). But it's still worth it. Very friendly service. Large portions & reasonably priced. You can't go wrong with the omelettes. If you get the 'country mess' (pick 5 items and cheese), expect to bring some home with you.

Best breakfast in the area. It was so good, we went back the next morning. The staff is friendly, and the food is amazing. The omlets are huge! Come hungry, or bring a friend to share it with you.

Had brunch today with my crazy loud family and this place is the BOMB! Pauline was our server, she was such a great personality and provided us with great service! We had 9 to our party and each meal was beyond our expectations, quality and size, everything was amazing! I highly recommend this place, bring your appetite! I am so full and I can't wait to go back!!:)

I was staying on Hutchinson Island for Thanksgiving with the in-laws and was looking for a good place for breakfast on Sunday morning. I found this on yelp and given the ratings thought it was going to be a diamond in the rough, which it absolutely was not. The food was bland, coffee maybe drinkable, cheese grossly over processed, everything from the cheap list from Sysco, and to top it off... instant grits. If you are a typical overweight American that thinks Olive Garden and Red Lobster are good, then I strongly recommend this place. However, if you have any bit of a discerning palate, simply stay away from this establishment. Quite frankly, I would put Waffle House well ahead of this place and that is not really a compliment. So why two stars instead of one? It was not an awful experience as the service was good, the food came fast and the server processed the check expediently. Interestingly though, as I write this I remember that it wasn't even cheap. The bill was $54 for myself, my 9 year old who ordered an adult's meal and two kiddie plates for my other two. I live in Denver and the brunch at the JW Marriott (which is excellent by the way) is cheaper than that. Even if you are tempted to try it to see if this review is accurate (yes something I have done in the past), don't waste your time; it truly is as unimpressive as I've described.

The canolli cream French toast is the best on the menu hands down!!! It's very filling a tastes very similar to a cinnamon bun. You may want to ask for extra syrup because they provide very little... All in all it was very good.

I was on my way to Davincis Dreamworks 2, but I decided to pull over and have some brunch before I continued on with my journey. First, I wandered towards Mulligans, which looked decent enough. But I was looking more for an authentic American diner with a mom and pop feel. I walked across the street and noticed the "bakery" stencils on Jan's Place street windows and I sauntered into the shoppe. Jan's Place has an amiable atmosphere with little trinkets scattered here and there. I was instantly greeted by a pleasant host and shown the menu. I was informed that regardless of what is on the menu, if they have the ingredients, they'll make an entree of my picking. I nodded and picked a small table behind a booth and while I was placing my things down, the young man was walking towards me with my morning coffee. Now, that is an instant 10 points. I am a woman that cannot live or breath without my coffee. My waitress was Debbie who was extremely friendly. She waited on me as I absent-mindedly looked at the menu while sipping their delicious coffee. I am quite indecisive, so I settled on the french toast combo, with egg whites and sausage. All for $10. While I was waiting for my order, I began to read, but 10 minutes later my food was brought to my table and the food looked immaculate. The food was very good, reminded me of the homemade meals that my mother would fix on Sunday mornings. The staff was lovely and the restaurant had a homey feel to it. I recommend this place, definitely stop on by if you're in the neighborhood.

Yummy! We got the cinnamon roll french toast and corned beef hash. Both were excellent. They have kids meals. My kids loved the pancakes, kids meals are approx $5.

I was very happy with my Sunday breakfast/brunch experience here. We were able to get a table outside without having to wait, and the staff were fantastic about taking care of us. I got the Cinnamon Roll French Toast and it was quite tasty. Not too sweet, but just enough. I devoured all six rolls without shame. I'd happily return as there were many other menu items that looked interesting.

Only complaint is that everything sounds so good it's nearly impossible to pick. I went with cannoli French toast as per my waitresses recommendation. To die for! Graham cracked crusted bread and cannoli cream in between each slice, topped with whipped cream and fresh strawberries. Picture doesn't do it justice. I can't wait to come back here.

Jan's place has always been a 'must go' when I travel to the area; fresh food, friendly staff, great atmosphere & large portions. As another reviewer were stated, if you are staying on Hutchinson Island, this is the best place for breakfast. I took off one star because the coffee was not great but the food was amazing and we will always stop by when we are in the area.

  • Jenna S.

I am a rare but hardy breed, the breed that loves a good Eggs Benedict. This is the only place i have ever seen in my travails that has not only the ye olde E.B. but also EB combinations that strike deep in the core if all that is good breakfast eating. I am also a grits-snob, and they hook up the grits, too. Great waitress, nice sidewalk cafe, a real hit.

Pleasant little cafe in Downtown Jensen Beach. Looks like breakfast is the way to go here. One in our party ordered a wrap. Not particularly enjoyable. Those that ate breakfast enjoyed. One of the sausage links I was served tasted like it had been cooked on a previous day. It was hard, crusty and disgusting. That should never have been served to a customer. Service was friendly and attentive, but there kitchen let them down. We may return but will try some of the other local cafés and diners first.

Fast services and great food.friendly people and short Waite ... :) only thing bad is the management talks to servers on floor about things they do wrong.

Came to this place to eat w another elite yelper Paul Hung and others. It is a nice local brunch place. - Atmosphere: it was very typical ocean style decor. the spacing of the tables were thought out well because it was a super busy place but the waiters, bus boy and guest were able to walk around with ease. 4/5 Service: got greeted with a nice welcoming smile and we informed her that we were in a rush. she informed Our waitress to ensure our orders were rushed. The waitress was good, able to to top my coffee and get our orders in a fast manner. 5/5 Food: it was pretty decent. I had the California egg Benedict. Eggs cooked nicely, however grilled chicken was too dry and the English muffin a bit burned. I also bought a homemade banana bread from their bakery. That was pretty tasty. Overall it was okay food. 3.5 I would want to come back because the service was great. I will try another dish to see how consistent their cooking is. They were super busy when we got there and still able to get us out under an hour. Again great service for a local place. Props to the management. -

Jan's is the best brunch spot in the area. The eggs benedict options are endless and the spuds should not be missed. Service is always friendly, but be prepared to wait for a table on the weekends (it's worth it)!

  • Faye D.

Love this place. We've visited Fla three times in the last 8 months and have been to Jan's twice each visit. Their omelettes and french toast are outstanding. My husband likes their little potato pancakes. Service is terrific and the food comes out fast. Be prepared to wait on the weekends, but I think it's worth it!

  • Jill L.

My family LOVES Jan's! We try to go here after church whenever my husband and I are visiting his parents. For breakfast, their omelets are top notch! If I'm in the mood for lunch, they're cobb salad is huge (just found out last time I was there that you can order a 1/2 size) or my other favorite is the spicy chicken sandwich. No matter which route you go, their portions are huge and will leave you full for hours! Be prepared to wait for a table, especially on weekend mornings/lunch time. We usually go with a group of 4-6 around 12:30pm on Sundays and have to wait about 20 minutes. It's definitely worth the wait though!

Took my visiting friends from Pennsylvania, for breakfast and of course everything was awesome and very tasty. I always get the farmers daughter omelet THE BEST. We had a 15 minute wait but I KNOW ITS WORTH THE WAIT. They enjoyed their picks and the SPECIAL Jan's bread. Mmmmmm good .

*TIP* -$3 share charge -Open 7 days a week. Mon - Fri 7am to 4pm. Weekends 7am to 3pm. Decor: 4/5 -lots of booths and plenty of seating at the bar -it has a clean, welcoming diner feel Service: 4/5 -southern hospitality, friendly -the food came out pretty quickly Food: 4.5/5 -French Toast Combo ($8.99) came with 2 french toast, 2 eggs and 2 meat of your choice (I went with sausage links). The french toast was excellent! Slightly crispy on the edges, soft enough to bite into and flavor was just right. (4.5/5) -Pineapple Coconut Muffin $2.49 was prepared by slicing the muffin in half and toasting it. The end result is a mind blowing flavor bomb. Consistency is super soft, rich muffin with bits of coconut and pineapple. This is a MUST try! (5/5)

Just left Jans. Unbelievable! Our waitress was Mindy. What a very nice lady!!! Food was awesome. We had country fried steak breakfast, came with 3 eggs, hash browns, biscuits & gravy & country fried steak. The best food ever. Also had the coconut shrimp wrap- delicious. Great food, great waitress!! Get to Jans, you will LOVE it.

Menu was very unique...lots of interesting ingredients for specialized omelettes.....I had turkey, bacon and cheese..and Hollandaise sauce on top....never had turkey in an omelette before, but it works......and Huge portions....delicious and filling.........don't change a thing.....this place is perfect.

Jan's Place is so great. I could really leave this review at just that. The food, the service, the creativity, the quality are all tops. I had the Crab Cake Benedict with Potato Cakes. I probably would have happened upon that combo myself but it came highly recommended so I am glad I didn't have to. The Crab Cake was an actual Crab Cake, I only say that because I have had this dish before other places and the CC is a fried crab flavored breadcrumb after thought, it will be drown in hollandaise and eggs topping an English, so who cares? I care. Not the case here. A real and tasty Crab Cake that could exist on its own. Even the asparagus that comes with this dish had a nice seasoned flavor to it. The poach and yolk in the eggs were perfect and the hollandaise, again, perfect. Potato cakes are mini POTATO PANCAKES served with sour cream, apple sauce of course, and you get a pile of them. By them being small you get a fantastic fried to potato ratio. I have to say I have never seen potato pancakes executed this way, and now they are in my thoughts. Those were devoured and I wish I could have taken away a bag of them for the car ride home. I will run through the menu of Jan's Place but I quite possibly have already had one of the best breakfasts ever. Last meal contender for sure.

  • Vania L.

Only been there for breakfast (multiple times). The portions have gone down but still large. I always get the eggs benedict. I've tried the traditional and the Neptune. Both very good. Their coffee is good and the side of fresh fruit is good and actually fresh. Service is very attentive and wait is just 30 minutes on average. The French Toast isn't as tasty. It is worth a stop if you've never been; average breakfast dish is $13. Atmosphere is busy, a bit loud, warm because of the volume they do and cleanliness could be improved. But we continue to go back because they are consistent.

This food was absolutely AMAZING. Huge portions. I had lox and bagels my kids split the cinnamon roll French toast and my husband had the filet scrambler. Food was great, service was awesome. Our server Emily was a delight. This place is a must if you love a good breakfast!

    (5)
  • Nicholas D.

I was there on opening day and this place was a breath of fresh air in the Jensen Beach area. The portions were huge IMO but shortly after things began to change first the portion sizes went down, then prices went up, then quality went down, then prices went up again! And a place that was a breath of fresh air in the area became the same old tourist trap by the water breakfast place that most of Florida is known for. The place is packed by nonlocals and the older brunch going crowd. While the locals that appreciate good food and great portions and price points go else where. I am not saying this place is inedible its just no longer what is use to be. Sad to see but I still wish them success.

Great place for breakfast and lunch. The waitstaff was excellent and attentive, you can tell that they are proud to work here. Interesting and extensive menu and excellent food

  • Aaron L.

I think we were over charged the first time we were there. Today we went and it was $37 for three of us to have breakfast, which was almost exactly what we were charged for two people, so make sure you check your check.

This place is great. Very popular in jensend beach as it was really busy. Didnt have to wait long maybe about 5-10 minutes. The service was awesome no complaints. We started off with the pineapple and coconut muffin which was amazing grilled with butter delicious. Then i had the veggie omelet with wheat toast and home fries and my husband had the crossant with sausage and cheese adn egg and hash browns and coffee excellent. BTW the omelet platters can be for two people easily.

  • Chuck M.

incredible breakfast. The Neptune omelette and the eggs Benedict are the best! Try the cinnamon roll french toast. Out of this world! Our favorite breakfast place in the area

  • David M.

We liked breakfast here very much. Lots of fresh baked and cooked goods served by a seasoned professional staff. The portions are huge. The only downside that I found...it was expensive ($85) to feed a family of five with a 20%+ tip. I would definitely be back but I would split a dish or two amongst the kids.

  • Missy P.

Great place! Staff is amazingly friendly, extraordinarily helpful, and seem to get along well. I stopped in on a whim while I'm in town on vacation, and I was not disappointed. Food was great, and the place is basically a great small town diner. I highly recommend it.

    (5)
  • Andy A.

Traditional beach style diner. The stuffed French Toast was amazing. Our coffee never got below half a cup. Servers were friendly and everyone seemed to enjoy what they do. They offer all kinds of daily lunch/dinner specials. We went back twice and our server Lisa remembered us. The food is not pretentious, but I promise you will walk out satisfied. And it won't kill your bank account!!

    (5)
  • Jo H.

There is a bakery case as you walk in with many great treats to choose from. We came in mid week and did not have to wait. The word is there are times when there is quite a wait, but it would be worth it. They offer a variety of different types of egg choices. The Benedict choices seemed very interesting. Great hash Benedict- oh my goodness it was perfect. Another guest got the steak and eggs which was great as well. The side was not some throw away. It was incredibly yummy fresh fruit.

  • Rachel M.

Jan's Place was as fab as everyone says it is! There are so many breakfast options. One thing I most loved is that they had an option where u can make certain combinations as either an omelette, breakfast skillet, or breakfast burrito. That was wonderful. Everything was tasty, huge servings, great service, outside seating, not far from the beach, and dog friendly! What a wonderful breakfast place! Made my morning perfect. Thank you and great job to all at Jan's Place! Decs inside are very cute. You can also tell people love this place. People kept coming and coming!

  • Rashna S.

Jan's Place is very nicely decorative, and the service here is really friendly. Firstly, I'd like to say that they make the best 'cookies' here. I first had the PB cookie, it was so moist, it had chunks or reeces inside, and just very tasty....It's hard to desscribe! I also had their Choc chip cookie, which was also evenly as good....one of the best cookies I've ever had. They also have muffins which I personally didn't like, but their cheesecakes are to die for! Now on to the meals. I ordered the Shrimp Coconut Wrap, it was so good, you can take the shrimp with a crunch and a litle sweet sauce inside, jjust makes it amazing! I also had their Veggie Wrap, which is basically grilled vegetables and you can put any sauce inside! I tried a little of my friends Buttermilk Pankcakes and they were so fluffy! I would come here again, and try some of their other great foods.

    (5)
  • Brooke H.

This is not a hip, cool spot with a high end decor....it's clean and friendly and right on the main drag. They have several outdoor tables and it's a great place to watch all the activities on the street. And the food is fanTAStic. And a great menu. I took friends who were visiting and they were skeptical when they walked in but when they walked out.....they were very, very happy.

I love Jan's for a great breakfast. The service is fast and friendly plus they have affordable prices as well.

My family went for breakfast on st Patricks day and the food and service was amazing! They allowed us to order everything we wanted with substitutions and it was not a problem. I can't wait to go back! Their French toast is amazing!!

  • Thomas S.

Not the best food around and not the best decor around but a friendly and efficient staff and consistent food. I go for breakfast whenever we are in town and usually have a crowd. They get you in, seated, fed and out in a decent amount of time.

Cute spot with a diner feel. Lots of eggs benedict variations to choose from. Delicious French toast!

I've been visiting this town for close to 30 years and this is hands down the greatest breakfast place in town and probably within a 60 mile radius. I stopped in this morning and had the southwestern chicken omlette, it was out of this world. Truth be told I've never had a bad thing on their menu and its a must anytime I'm in town. Please go here if you are in the area.

    (5)
  • Sarah T.

I've heard a lot of locals rave about this place, including my mom, but I was not impressed when we went for breakfast one leisurely weekend. The tables are jammed together and the servers seemed quite crabby from the place being so busy. It took quite a while for the server to recognize our existence and I felt like we had to keep reminding her of what we needed. The food didn't really make up for the lack of service or ambience. I will go back for lunch because mom says lunch is good and there are some good veg options. Until then ...

    (2)
  • Dave S.

We got here about 11 am on a Thursday morning and had to wait about 5 -10 minutes to be seated. As other reviewers have mentioned, it's very warm inside the restaurant. The service was okay, she never came back to fill op our waters. The menu had lots of options, so surely something for everyone. We ordered the Monte cristo egg benedict and I was disappointed. It sounded good when I ordered, but french toast as a basis for an egg benedict is just a bad idea. I ended up scraping the toppings off and eating the french toast by itself. The French toast combo was pretty good though, just as the menu states. I would go back because I want to try the mini cinnamon bun combo.

The bf's grandparents live nearby and Jan's is one of their go to places. I was very very impressed! Firstly, our server was a ROCKSTAR (think her name is Sandy). Not only did she remember the entire order for 8 people by memory, she was professional yet breezy, and paid special attention to our 6yo niece who was getting whiny from the late lunch hour. Jan's menu offered all kinds of diner style fares - all day breakfast, burgers, wraps, sandwiches, soups and salads. Add to that shakes, fries and potato salad type things for sides. I opted for the blackened mahi mahi taco (delicious), and bf enjoyed his turkey club. Grandma especially like this breakfast berry bread they have (she orders it to go, for afternoon tea), and the special toasted sandwich is Pop's favorite. Servings are generous, and we got attended to quickly. I will gladly come back next time we're back in the area.

To start with, this place is great! We walked over for breakfast on a Sunday morning. The place was very busy, a good sign. It's on a main street in the area. The decor is that of a normal diner. I knew when I saw paper place mats, a very busy dining room and and old school shake mixer, that I was in a good place. The one drawback was that is was very warm inside. I don't know if the A/C was set high, but it was so warm, we perspired just sitting there. I had a standard eggs benedict, my wife had a steak and crab benedict of some sort. Our friends also had similar dishes. One had a shrimp benedict and the other had a corned beef hash benedict. They were plentiful, flavorful and priced just right. There are may choices of sides, and all were done right. There were so many good menu choices, when it was my turn to order and I froze and picked the standard. The service was great. Our server was not overbearing, but was there just the right amount of time. She was very friendly and helpful with the menu. By the time we left, the wait must have been 10-15 minutes, and its not a tiny place. There are a few tables outside, but they are on the sidewalk, and I don't like that very much. The 5th star is being held back because of the air conditioner and price of soft drinks. We will be back however!

  • Chris M.

This is a great place for breakfast. The portions are very large. The place is usually very crowded, so you may have to sit outside. One of the best places to get breakfast in Jensen Beach.

  • Robert C.

This brunch was amazing! Finally we have found our spot! The food is really fresh and we can't wait to try other things on the menu. The service was fantastic, and the decor was really fun and BEACHY! LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE.

  • Kim M.

It was good, and service was great, but we didn't feel the food lived up to all the glowing Yelp reviews. That being said, there were lots of choices, and the egg selections were solid as well as plentiful. They did not disappoint...the french toast and waffles, meh. We all agreed that we had better in that area. If you want an omelette or eggs benedict about 50 creative ways? This IS your spot. It was nice to be able to eat indoors or out. It was a little pricey for breakfast, but given the portion size, we didn't feel ripped off. Parking was easy with a lot in back, as well as spaces on the street.

  • David G.

The wife and I had breakfast here for the first time since they opened in this location. My Mexican omelet was outstanding, and my wife's California omelet was as well. We sat at the counter since the wait was 15mins. The service was terrific and if there was one negative, it was minor staff bickering within earshot of customers. This has been our experience at Jans in any one of their incarnations in the last ten years. It is not worth missing the food for, but it would be nice to lose altogether.

  • Michael N.

Jan's is in a decent spot and has a lot which helps. There isn't an abundance of street parking so get there early. Food-wise they are pretty stocked for brunch/breakfast. You have a long wait to be seated and they torture you by having you face the pastry counter which is stocked with muffins galore and an array of cookies that should be sold with insulin. We scooped up some and none of them tasted like they came from a mix and I would gladly eat here daily given the opportunity. Their selection is great if you're in a rush or even if you have time to sit. The booths are sizable and comfortable too. Our waitress wouldn't have been overmatched if she was working in a jammed diner in New York City either. She was old school and was always around when we needed. The menu here was the size of the Old Testament so you won't run out of choices no matter how often you decide to eat here. Easy for me to say they need more space but I'm sure locals just yearn for the snowbirds to go back home so they can eat in peace. Great place!

  • Susan F.

As residents we frequent this place often. Sadly, after today because of the man who was seating people we will return less. We were instructed to wait in a certain area for a table which we did for 20 minutes. He approached us and asked if we could move in a little closer, which we did. A few minutes later he approached us and demanded we move in closer as he wasn't going to tell us again! No problem.....we went across the street and had a wonderful meal at Mulligans. Others waiting next to us did the same.

If you love Eggs Benedict, this is the place for you. Diner atmosphere, very casual and near the inter coastal. The bakery gives you a warm inviting aroma when you arrive. Not sure if things have changed, but they used to be cash only. Just be prepared in case it's still that way.

Amazing selection for breakfast and lunch. I had a breakfast plate that included corned beef hash, eggs, hash browns and wheat toast. My daughter had a waffle and bacon and my wife had an amazing omlette. Service was exceptional. We'll go back!!

Hands down, the best breakfast I have had in Florida! Super friendly staff! Our waiter was great; he was more than happy to accommodate my special requests and even gave us a complimentary delicious pineapple coconut muffin because we were newbies! Massive, delicious portions of fresh food! The Omelette was seriously large enough for 2-3 people to share. My husband had the cinnamon roll french toast...wow! Next time I come back to the area to visit my folks, you can find me here for breakfast!

  • John B.

I have eaten here twice and both times have been spectacular. The eggs benedict and pancakes are made just how you want them! My girl friend and I ordered the fillet mignon and mushroom skillet and the plate was large enough to feed a group of four! Pour a couple mimosas for brunch and then take a stroll through the small local shops and art galleries. Highly recommended!

For the area Jan's had the best selection for breakfast items with over 10 different eggs benedict options! Had the homemade crab cake with asparagus eggs benedict which was great! Lots of fresh crab packed in with hollandaise. The waffles were good as well with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. Variety of different sides from grits, spuds, home fries, hash browns, etc. Parking lot in back and outside seating in front.

I stopped into Jan's Place today after walking the bridge to Hutchinson, so I was a little bit hungry. The service was friendly and fast, and I liked the diner atmosphere of the place. I sat outside - since I was in my exercise clothing - and got the grilled cheese with tomato and fries. I figured I would see how the simple things are on the menu first. If a place can't do grilled cheese right, then why would I want to try anything more complicated? The food was prepared well, though it was not the highest quality. If I am going to pay six dollars for a grilled cheese sandwich, I'd like to have real cheese. I would eat here again, but I'm not dying to go back. *** went back for breakfast and it was awesome!!

Best breakfast I've had anywhere at any time. I had a salmon omelet covered with Hollandaise sauce and tiny potato pancakes. Great service and fun people. Can't wait to go back.

Went at about 9:30am on a Friday and was sat as soon as we walked in. The wait staff was great and full of personality. Had a delicious omelet that was so big I couldn't finish it (a rare site). This great stop is just off some water and a bridge away from the beach offering great views in the outdoor seating. This is the place to be for good food in a relaxed setting.

Awesome place. Great little joint downtown. Food was hot, fresh, fast and fantastic. Both my wife and I had the daily special which was a large cinnamon roll turned into french toast with eggs and a meat. I had scrambled and ham. Honestly between the quantity and richness of the food, I couldn't even finish it. Great place, we'll be heading back tomorrow!

I'm a fan. This place is a diamond in the rough. You walk in and are immediately greeted by the host or hostess and seated quickly. We went on a Sunday morning and it was busy, but not crazy. The food was fantastic with large portions. There was a manager type person, I assume his name was Bob from the red shirt that said "of course i'm right, i'm bob." Bob was very rude to his employees. Nice to guests, but we could tell he was not a fun person to work for... Update: We've been back a few times since my initial review. Bob seems to have gotten himself together - perhaps he was just having a bad day. The service is FAST. My husband and I always split a meal because the portions are so huge. Highly recommend if you're in the area. Makes a great late weekend breakfast!

As the late Lawrence Welk would say; Wunnerful, Wunnerful. We stopped for a late Saturday breakfast and the food couldn't have been any better, along with efficient, prompt friendly service. The resident navigator (I didn't know where Jensen Beach was) decided on a simple Western Omelette. Four inches high would not be an exaggeration and just huge, chocked full of ham, red peppers, onion and cheese. It must be baked as there was no browning on the outside which to me is a sign of an omelette cooked too quickly and not properly. Served with two excellent pancakes (or half waffle choice) and the wonderful potato cakes - more on that later. I went with a breakfast sandwich; French toast, ham, swiss and egg, served with syrup. Kind of a Monte Cristo with egg where the turkey would be. It's touted as a sandwich but so large it required a knife and fork. Eggs were fluffy and included a real slice of ham, not a slice or two of deli ham. Each breakfast included two potato cakes served with both sour cream and applesauce. Not quite as large as tennis balls (but damn close) and seem to be formed mash potatoes, small chunks of diced red potatoes and quickly deep fried - not greasy at all. I know I'm missing some other ingredients - but these things are both creative and fabulous. Do not miss these. There is care and creativity in the kitchen and if I lived closer to Jensen Beach I would eat my way through damn near everything on the breakfast menu, so many choices and so little time. They also offer lunch and close midday. Let those pictures do the talking. Love this place!!

Local Jensen beach breakfast food of the Gods with great location! Had the chicken fried steak, nice and crunchy, properly seasoned and coated with pretty good sausage gravy. Side of biscuits and hash browns, served piping hot and served less than 10 mins after ordering. Other dishes for my group included smoked lox on toasted bagel with cream cheese, capers, lettuce & tomato, all excellent. Place was packed, will return to try the pancakes.

Great place for breakfast. Unbelievable food but get there early. Gets busy later on. Enormous portions you might not need lunch after eating breakfast here. Plenty of staff to meet your needs and very friendly. Corned beef had two ways. Traditional and they make their own as well. Several omelette that are huge. Eggs Benedict different ways. French toast thick and enough choices that it's hard to choose.

I was visiting a friend in Stuart for the weekend and she said that we absolutely had to go to Jan's Place for breakfast. Its on a small street full of touristy shops and restaurants. There isn't much parking aside from the street and a little metered spot at the end of the road, so go early if you can, the place really fills up fast. It's not surprising either because as soon as you walk past Jan's place, all you can see through the window is a huge display of all of their baked goods like homemade bread pudding, muffins, cakes etc. The smell was amazing too so I completely understood why my friend said we had to go there!! First the restaurant is SO CLEAN! Especially since it looks like a diner but a really clean one, lol! It was completely packed at 10:30am on a Sunday but there were 2 seats available at the counter so we decided to grab them. It kind of added to the diner feel actually sitting up there with the old guys reading their paper and our waitress was super nice. I was indecisive as to what type of eggs benedict I wanted to order since they had a few listed that I liked. The waitress suggested the Cajun Steak Benedict which is 2 Filet medallions lightly blackened with Hollandaise sauce. I had to try it and I am so glad that I did it was really delicious!! My only complaint is that they really skimped on the hash browns. My friend ordered the Farmers' Daughter Omelet that had a bunch of veggies in it and so much cheese inside my friend could twirl it with her fork!! Overall we loved our meals and I really want to come back now for the French Toast and Pancakes!

I was so excited after all the other yelp reviews to try this place.. But.. Meh. Very bland flavored French Toast sandwich. BF got The Mess, he liked it but had to cover it in Hot Sauce for some flavor as well. All of the servers aside from ours were very pleasant and chatty and attentive. Maybe this just wasn't our morning. Bummer.

If you are vacationing on Hutchinson Island, this is your casual breakfast spot. Family owned and operated, Jan's Place is a Jensen Beach institution. The current location offers table, counter, and out-door dining. Attached to the restaurant is a bakery filled with muffins, breakfast breads, and cookies all baked in house. Portions are huge, in fact you may want to share. It is easy to see how everyone can have a different favorite here. The menu is large and there are three to four daily specials each morning. Blueberry French Toast and Cinnamon Roll French Toast are show stoppers. Drinks are filled quickly and plates cleared instantly. Overall Jan's has a Diner vibe to it. Most of the staff are witty and quick on their feet. Come as you are or dressed for the beach. We will be back next time we are in Hutchinson Island.

Everybody bragged about this place, it was fucking expensive for breakfast, 15 dollars for a god damn omlet that was mostly cheese greese, and egg, not much on this inside. pankcakes were less than ok. friendly waiter. If you want a great breakfast for a good price, go to Archies off A1A past the power plant. I hate off street parking too. coffee creames came out in chunks as well. coffee sucked ass. overpriced and not the best food . The ladies who work there are really nice, and friendly, but this aint no fucking diamond in the rough. just overall bland flavors in food. IM sorry just keeping this shit real on yelp. despite the hospitality of the people who worked there. food did come out at decent time. umm didnt get to see how clean bathroom is. the establisment appeared to be clean. Not saying this is shitty, just saying ive experienced better, like the rating says. that is all.

Probably the best breakfast there is on the east coast. I'm from PA and have had a lot of great breakfasts in different states, but nothing compares to this place! If you ever choose to go here bring an empty stomach because the servings are huge!

One of the many great places to eat in Jensen Beach. A country kitchen with a mini bakery to go along with a big food menu. Food is great.

If you heavy, comfort food then you will be happy with this place. My eggs and omelet were overcooked even though the waitress recommended it to be cooked that way for best results but I didn't fancy it. The service is sweet and so are their mimosas. Great for sitting outdoors on a nice sunny day and with good company too.

I ordered "Michael's Mess" for breakfast. I got to pick 5 things to go in it. I chose bell peppers, onions, sausage, bacon, and mushrooms. Already included in "the mess" was three omelet style eggs, a chopped up biscuit and fried red potatoes. ALL of this was mixed and heaped on a large dinner plate and smothered with sausage gravy. We were warned that it was huge. When it arrived, it was enough food to fill the stomachs of four adults. My wife and I split it in half and we each ate half of the half and were stuffed. Now, this was more then just a belly packing buffet, it was delicious. It was hard to stop eating even when brain and stomach were screaming, "STOP!!!!" Our server was great and even gave us a cash discount which we didn't even ask for. A great place for breakfast if you're planning an inactive morning to recover.

You cannot find a breakfast like Jan's anywhere else in South Florida. The food is worth the price and you never leave unsatisfied. The food comes out in 10 minutes and is hot, fresh, and perfectly filling. I recommend it for anytime time of any day.

Oh Jan's Place, what have you done to us? We happened to stop in for a late brunch one day on vacation after leaving another local place which didn't take credit cards. My buddy and I were seated right away and decided after the amazing aroma of maple syrup that we should order breakfast. He went with a special strawberry & nuts French toast contraption. While I ordered a waffle, bacon and hash browns. Coffee was brought to the table, and she kept it filled. When the mountain of food arrived at our table we were in heaven. So much so, that we had to order the French toast for the girls back at the hotel to take with us (bonus points!). The waffle was awesome, the bacon was perfect. Just a wonderful little, home cooking, soul food kind of place. My fav. Two days later, the wife and I decided we needed to make another stop for lunch at Jan's. This time we sat on the other side of the restaurant and much to our surprise noticed a huge bakery and dessert selection! Holy moly! We knew what we were getting after lunch! Rather than brunch again, we decided to order off of the lunch menu. I was in a fishy mood so I ordered the Mahi Mahi blackened sandwich. It had some homemade salsa that was to die for paired with the blackened seasonings! Jan didn't disappoint again! We ordered a chocolate peanut butter cupcake, and a huge brownie to take back with us for a snack later. Those were unreal desserts. My advice if you make it to Jan's DO NOT overlook the desserts! Jan's place is exactly the kind of restaurant I love to find. It's down home, amazing food, fresh ingredients, unique and just wonderful!

I moved to this area from West Palm and was disappointed there weren't many mom and pop places that were any good. I was wrong! This place is a new favorite. The French toast was amazing with yummy cinnamon butter. Will be back this weekend!!! :)

I used to work at this place when I was a kid, when I first came to FL from Germany. The owners are super nice . I just went back her in Sat and Sun, and everything was great. I got the banana pecan waffles, and they were amazing. It's nice to know Bob and Jan still have what it takes at a great price!!!

First of all, the place needs a good cleaning. A little Stanley steamer on those floors would help. The telltale sign was an old grease smell when you walk in! Food was mediocre american . I just don't get what all the good reviews are about.
