We went here the day we checked in for the business portiin of our trip. The three of us were very hungry after driving up from orlando. The menu looked ok, we were a little surprised at the selections-chicken and waffles sandwich, grilled cheese, pot pie, meatloaf etc. We figured comfort foods would be good. First order: a 6oz petite filet with roasted potatoes and side salad.- It was a piece of meat with 8-10 quarter sized potato halfs. The meat was really chewy and bland for a filet. Some of the potatos were mush, and others were hard in the middle. The seasoning was good though. Second order: Meatloaf and a side salad.-It came sliced with a brown mushroom gravy on top, a dish of mac and cheese, cooked baby carrots and asparagus. The salad came first, some of the lettuce was wilted and slimy and had to be picked out. It also didnt taste washed so we needed to use dressing to hide the dirt flavor-they do give an ample quantity of dressing; which can be good, though we generally eat salads dry. The meat loaf was awful-it was dry and had a weird seasoning-more of an asian flavor and it did not blend well with the brown gravy at all. The carrots were good-nicely steamed with some bite in the middle. The asparagus was bland and a little over cooked. The mac and cheese was mushy and flavorless-it was like they had frozen portions, then just mirowaved them as needed, then put some yellow cheese on top (which was an oily mess) and put it in the oven. Third meal: chicken pot pie- We were told it was a very big portion, and when it came out it looked really good. Once cut into though it was mostly air. Its a big piece of puff pastry on top. And the filling was not to the top of the container it was in. I did not try this one, but was told it tasted ok. He left still hungry though and needed to get snacks elsewhere afterwards. Also during the meal the staff was helpful and polite, but one of the bussers dropped a dirty fork from one of plates and it fell down the back of our coworkers shirt. The busser tried to wipe his shirt off afterwards, but it was a little awkward. It was just a lot of disapointment all around. For a $70 meal two out if three left hungry (the food was inedible to me-so someone else ate half of my plate-and even they stoped part of the way through saying they couldnt eat any more of this garbage, and he only had done so due to being so hungry.) Coming from 4 days of basically only eating theme park food it was really frustrating to prefer that food over what we had here, especially when we expected it to be a decent meal.

This place was "okay." They are in a nice hotel, and I think they have forgotten that it takes a little extra work to make them a fancy restaurant. I ordered the 6-ounce filet, with the cabernet demi, with asparagus, carrots, and barley, and my date ordered the Chicken and Waffles, and we opened a bottle of Cakebread (a little overpriced, even by restaurant standards, but not outrageously so). I must say that the C&W were delicious! It was the second time I have ever had the strange combination, and this one blew the first out of the water! I understand now what all the fuss is about. As for mine, the everything was good, the steak was perfect, the veggies were roasted well, but it lacked that 'je ne sais quoi' (not to be cliche). The closest I could come was that it lacked a passionate chef in the kitchen (which is probably not fair to the chef). I think this may have been an off day--the place was nearly empty, and there were several other events going on around town. If I am in the area again, I will give this place a re-do, I think.

Surprisingly tasty and reasonable for a hotel restaurant. I ate here twice during my stay in town for a conference. Their lunch buffet was recommended to us by our server as a speedy option since average wait times were 30-40 minutes. I was apprehensive, but happily surprised with their delicious tortilla soup, great salad bar, and tasty sandwich options. Nothing outrageous or worth writing home about, but everything was of good quality and I enjoyed my meal. Everyone at the table was satisfied with their buffet lunch as well. I ate here for dinner with a friend as well, and was really happy with my meal. The fresh crusty bread and butter were wonderful as a starter. I ordered an organic chicken with lemon butter sauce, a green salad, and asparagus, all of which was nicely done. My dinner partner was very happy with her shrimp in tomato sauce and fresh local tomatoes. We shared a smoothie for dessert, which we both enjoyed, although decided we could have made at home. Overall a pretty good option if you happen to be staying at this hotel, convenient, and a good selection of options.

Deon is great, our service was awesome. I love the Key Lime Pie. She helped with suggestions on all our questions on menu items.

The food I ate was great - shrimp burger and fries mix. But they didn't have much else that I thought would be great to eat. But this place is great.

Probably more like 3 1/2 stars. Came here for lunch since we were at a conference upstairs. I was with a party of 6 and we all had the lunch buffet. Decent selection of sandwiches, salads, and desserts. There was also a soup available. Good little pit stop inside the hotel. Not overly expensive considering it was in a Hyatt.

Made the mistake of going here fot Valentines dinner. Tv dinner type food and pitifully service by Philippine interns.

Cafeteria style options with dining buffets, sort of a disappointment actually. Most my stays in Hyatt locations are international so perhaps I'm biased by another category of service. Standards here are in line with "all American" ya ya going around nearby at the Jacksonville Landing. Without a doubt eating out of the hotel is best, especially given the low cost of can rides.

Good wait staff, and the food is very well made. It's a little expensive, but you are also paying for the convenience of eating in the hotel & not walking (in my case, in the rain.).

The food I had was very good. Salad, chicken and penne with sun dried tomatoes. IMO over priced and super loud. Here for a conference. The service was slow. You would think they would know to staff up when your hotel is full.

Our party of six ate here one night and I returned the next night for dinner alone. The restaurant was virtually empty. We were seated quickly and the service was excellent. Our drinks were brought quickly. Every meal ordered was true to the menu description, filling, fresh and beautiful. We highly recommend the steak salad with lime-chili dressing, the grilled grouper salad with avocado-lime dressing (and hearts of palm, mango, avocado in the salad) and the Cobb salad with lemon-dijon dressings. We'd have loved to try the matzoh ball soup or warm spiced pear dessert. Paired wines are offered with many of the dishes. The Brut was very good, but the Malbec ($9) was disappointing. Salads ran $11 to $13, making for a relatively cheap meal. Two drinks ran the bill closer to $40 with tip. We obseved the prices in the coffee shop and the sports bar to be similar (same kitchen) but the restaurant has a broader menu.

Ate here after a long day traveling and was pleasantly surprised. I started with a tomato basil soup which was just decent. The chili lime steak salad was very good, with tender meat cooked to a perfect medium and a rather tasty black bean and corn relish. My waitress was very attentive but not pushy. The ambience is so-so due to the placement in the busy lobby but I didn't mind. All in all, Trellises is a better than average hotel restaurant that I'd frequent again.

I had the breakfast buffet here in the Jacksonville, Hyatt Regency. I expected to get the usual large selection with an omelette station, etc. The selection was very disappointing. There was no omelette station or place where you could get eggs or waffles to order. The scrambled eggs were very much overcooked as was the french toast. The grits were very lumpy and inconsistent. To top it off the bagels were some of the worst I have had in many years. At least they could have served Lender's bagels! Anyway, I would definitely skip the breakfast here!

Another year, another conference. We were back at the Hyatt Riverfront for a retreat this year, and because I waited too long to book under the conference block and had to reserve a higher rate, the front desk offered us breakfast vouchers. See, procrastination sometimes has its benefits! I remembered the lousy dinner I had here last year, and figured that I could get them another shot for breakfast. The kitchen accommodated a request for a salmon omelette (salmon, red onions and capers), and my husband's crab benedicts looked pretty darn tasty as well. I do believe that the panko-topped tomatoes are a mistake. The omelette was fresh, full of each ingredient, and full of flavor. Very yummy. The morning of our departure, I had a belgian waffle topped with roasted fruit (this is probably a lie) and a side of eggs; hubby got more benedict. Again, all was delicious and very fresh. The servers were definitely busy both days, but overall service was good. The servers both seemed a bit surprised to receive tips, which is unfortunate. So I don't know if the problem is with the dinner cooks, or if it was the dinner crew the night we came last year. I do know I like the breakfast and would happily eat it again. Never say never, right? ;) 3.5 stars.

We had arrived to Jacksonville late after a long road trip from North Carolina. We just wanted to get something to eat and be done with it. So we walked in and waited and waited and waited and waited to be acknowledged and seated. Finally someone helps us and we sit down. We order drinks and dinner. We ask the server for some bread. He brings us some OLD ciabatta with butter so cold and hard that we couldn't spread it on the bread. Next came our soups. At least my French onion soup was good. Then we waited a really really long time for our entrees to arrive. When they finally arrive, they looked really good. A few people in my party ordered the pasta with grilled chicken and pesto. It was completely FLAVORLESS, according to everyone who ordered it. Not only was it flavorless, but it was COLD. My burger was actually good, but it had taken so long to arrive, that I wasn't hungry as I ate it. It's a shame, because the server was very attentive and he tried very hard, but no matter how hard he tried, if the kitchen isn't up to par, it's not enough. In summary, overpriced for sub par food. Go anywhere else if you can!!

Becki and I are staying the week here at the Hyatt for the great H.I.T.S. K9 event. We had breakfast at Trellises in the hotel. Becki ordered the Walnut Banana pancakes and I chose the buffet. I went ahead and began to fix my plate, eggs and other things when I noticed someone else had an omelette. I asked the person where he procurred the nice looking omelette who then pointed across to empty cooking setup station that I hadn't noticed before I had filled my plate. I returned to our table and began eating the scrambled eggs, wishing longingly, that I had seen the omelette station first. Trying to eat slowly so Becki could join in the fun with the nice sounding pancakes she had ordered which did not arrive. The nice waitress apologized twice for the delay and then Florinda, the Manger came over to explain a little mixup had happened but all would be taken care of and corrected. Shortly, Becki Walnut Banana pancakes arrived and they were spectacular! See included photo! What started as a slight unfortunate situation was very much changed to a very positive experience by the efforts and service of the great manager Florinda. Becki and I look forward to enjoying several meals at Trellises during our stay at the Hyatt!

Overpriced hotel restaurant. Buffet and table service. During the week there are other local options with better food and much lower prices.

Breakfast Buffet $19.99 includes omelet station and drinks. Other a la carte menu options available. Average price for breakfast entree $14. It is pricey but you're paying for convenience and the place. I haven't been to a "4 star" hotel yet that didn't charge around this price for breakfast. Normally I wouldn't pay this for breakfast (which was good, not spectacular, but good). However, when you're hungry early in the morning and you'd rather not go out in search of food so you can grab a couple more hours in bed before the noon checkout--I'd gladly pay (and did) for this opportunity to hang out and chill in my Hyatt room with the comfy mattress and the river view.

Went here for breakfast, which is extremely pricey than what I would ever pay for a meal so early in the day. I had a frittata with an english muffin and parfait (I shared) and that came to at least $20. In all fairness it was good but I could have made the same for myself for a fraction of the price.

They have an awesome breakfast buffet. The omelet station is an added bonus! The breakfast comes with coffee and juice, both are terrific!

Filet was cold. Apps took 35 mins, drinks about 20mins each oh and 20% tacked on after horrible service. Skip this place and yelp a 4 star place that's cheaper.
