Wow, this place was really good! I previously ate at a Tijuana Flats on Beach Blvd, and it was a bad experience with below average food. So I wasn't expecting a lot from this place, but this place exceeded my expectation. We came here on a Friday night, and there was a live performer there. The inside was decorated with colorful lights, and they had pictures of bras on the wall to raise awareness for breast cancer. We were greeted immediately after we went in, and the waitress explained to us how things work at Tijuana Flats. Many employees checked on us throughout our duration of stay, and they were all nice and helpful. There was even a live performer outside. Overall, It was a good dining experience. We ordered the steak Dos Enchiladas and Nachos with steak also. The best part of both dishes were definitely the steaks. They were very tender, juicy, and delicious. The portions were also ginormous! When I took a bite of my enchilada, everything just melted in my mouth and my taste buds were blissfully delighted. It was so good that I was hesitant to share it with my wife. The nachos came with some mouthwatering guacamole, and they were covered with melted cheese. Just talking about the food is making me hungry again. Damn you, Tijuana Flats!

The service here is amazing...each and every staff member is nice and friendly. The place gets really busy but they always seem energetic and willing to make you visit pleasant. It was my first time trying at this chain Mexican restaurant and was really impressed with all the unusual wall memorabilia and the sauce bar....wow they do have some tear-inducing concoction. I tried the Norrito Chicken bowl. They do have a choice of regular and blackened chicken. I went with regular, it was OK, not Chipotle good though, nonetheless, I cleaned the bowl. The guac was included with the bowl price unlike chipotle where you pay extra. The service was top great too...whenever they got the chance would inquire if I needed a refill or something else....just wished the drink fountain was self-service. Not sure if chips and salsa come with entree because I didn't get one. Overall, really nice environment to try the usual Mexican food and some cold cerveza. Will look forward to go back and try their tacos.

Meh. Went for Taco Tuesday. Wasn't impressed. It seems as if the staff has gotten younger. To the point where the service was slacking because of the high school flirting going on haha. The tacos were good, but nothing spectacular. I used to love Tijuana Flats but I don't know if something changed within management or what but I am not as in love as I thought I was anymore. I'm kind of hoping that this experience was simply related to the location. It's an older shopping center that has evolved in an interesting way. Good food for a quick bite. Just realize that's the potential experience you're walking into.

This place was packed but they got us in quick and brought our food out fast. The food is awesome and if you love hot sauce the hot sauce bar is heaven.

Can't go wrong with taco Tuesday! Service is great and has a fantastic atmosphere. Really cool place to go and hangout for a while. Queso is pretty good as well! It's not Taco Lu level queso but it gets the job done!

The food was spot on, as always, and I've never gotten service as good anywhere else, they make it a point to go above and beyond to make your dining experience awesome. Hands down one of my favorite places in Jacksonville to dine.

I stopped into this location today at lunch for a quick bite. It was not very busy, but my food took a little bit longer than I would have expected. But... thankfully it came out correct, and hot. I had the chicken chimichanga with queso sauce. I had the refried beans and rice on the side. I also had a small drink... and the total was a little over $10.... which in retrospect (in my opinion) a hair bit overpriced. I am a fan of Tiajuana Flats though... I love the huge selection of hot sauces. The service is always very good. The place is spotless. There is also outdoor seating...even though this place there is not much to see (except a CVS).

Went to Tijuana Flats tonight. I don't know what it is, but it seems like the quality of food has diminished over the past year or so at all of the Tijuana Flats locations. I had the Banging Burrito tonight, and yeah it was ok but maybe I was hoping for more. You've gotta love the hot sauce bar though, I always love trying a new sauce when I TJ's. But I think that I'll give Tijuana Flats a little break before trying them again.

What is there not to like? Endless chips and queso, multiple Mexican dishes like tostadas, burritos, chimichangas, tacos and quesadillas. Each of them are customizable like you were at Subway, so don't like jalapeños? No problem. Don't like onions? No problem. Want extra black beans? Well you get the concept. Service is friendly, fast and fun. Make sure you look at the ceiling tiles, each are decorated differently and make for interesting views.

Excellent service, delicious food and insanely cheap. Dinner under ten bucks and I'm stuffed.

My Taco Salad wasn't great but my friends Flautas was amazing. Plus we got free chips, salsa and queso with almost too much attention from the servers asking us if we wanted refills and how we were liking things. A nice place to have a decent lunch with a friend. Exactly what I was looking for.

The service was amazing and the food was great! If you like Tex-Mex, then you'll love this place. If you're looking for more of a sit-down, authentic Mexican restaurant, this is not the place for you. I'll definitely be going back.

This restaurant is made awesome by the staff. They Rock! We hit that place almost every tuesday with several request and they sincerely take care of us especially when we celebrate a Zumba Crew Birthday. This is OUR TF! Every visit is a great visit!

Great place, been a regular since 2 years. Located conveniently near the busy bay meadows. Food- love the quesadilla, mega Juana , home fried tortilla chips and the nachos. Food is fresh, meat is well cooked. Staff is very friendly & receptive . Portions are good for the price. Love their sauce bar.

I think I've written nearly the same review for every Tijuana Flats I've been to, but one thing continues to come to mind: this place is why better than Moe's, which used to be the staple for this type of food. Tijuana passes Moe's one several accounts: namely quality, flavor, service and their chips are way better as is their guacamole. The only downfall here is there's no free salsa bar (their sauces are available, however). Here you won't get bland food, rather fresh (at least it tastes that way) ingredients, seasoned meats/chicken/pork/etc and good service. The people that worked here seemed like they wanted to be at work, rather than being forced to be there. It's refreshing. Come here for a quick bite and a burrito and you'll be satisfied.

This store is a bit hard to find (it doesn't face the parking lot, it's basically next to CVS and publix). Thanks to the little map in the yelp app, I was able to find it more easily than I would have without it! Anyway, I'm trying to make more of an effort to go light on lunch during the workweek but having skipped breakfast, I let myself have TF. I ordered my "usual" a chicken and refried bean quesadilla on wheat, no jalapeños, power light and grabbed a seat. Pretty much immediately I wished I had gotten my food to go. It's loud (most Tijuana Flats seem to me), music blaring and a very loud staff. I felt like I could repeat every person in the place's order back because the woman bringing out the food shouted it at them. I was also disappointed that they have no wifi (and I had no service, just that sad little E at the top of my screen). I was thinking that the location I usually eat at has wifi but now that I think about it, I actually connect to the dentist office next door's wifi. I just cannot understand a place like this not having public wifi in 2014. The food was okay but the quesadilla seemed to fall apart a lot more than it does at my regular store. The guacamole was also disappointing, it had absolutely no flavor. In the future, I'll probably drive the other way on Baymeadows and hit Tequila's for their cheaper, fresher tasting lunch specials.

Great service every time I come in. Always like to enjoy lunch and very close to FSCJ. Gets super busy on Taco Tuesday's but they definitely try to accommodate you as soon as possible.

YO...I love Tijuana Flats. Google Maps can have a hard time getting you here, but it's right next to the...want to say Wynn Dixie? What stores do you all have down there? We walk in and a super friendly server tells us how the process works, order at the cashier, they bring your food. After a long drive from Charleston, I liked the freedom of knowing I had already paid and can leave as soon as I was ready. The food came out quickly and the portions were HUGE! Paxton had a steak quesadilla and I have never seen the little babe grub so enthusiastically. JR C. had a gigantic burrito and I had the corn tacos - not those tiny little corn shells you think...these were huge. Fast, friendly, and quite affordable - I highly recommend this place. Great classic rock tunes, too!

This was a wonderful of experience! The service was exceptional. I was greeted by a young woman who explained "how it works" and brought me a soda. I ordered, received my food very quickly, and sat outside. Two different workers asked how everything was a couple times each and brought me a refill. I have never experienced such service at this type of restaurant. The blackened chicken norrito was delicious and the serving size was perfect. I will go back to this location the next time I'm in Jacksonville.

After having a bad experience at the Lake Nona Orlando T.F.'s, this Jax location redeemed my faith in the brand. I visited over the holidays. The staff were very friendly and attentive, the food was cooked to perfection and served fast. Thank you Butler, Kate and Andre'!!!

I'm struggling to write this review... It almost feels like middle school again. Like the first time your best friend betrays you. First it is important for you to know that I love this restaurant... Not like, or tolerate, but truly love... Like middle school-ish again. Of the near thousand times I've eaten here, I've never had the first bad thing to say... Until now. Food quality = Fantastic Service quality = Taco Bell Are you getting too big for your britches? It wasn't very crowded... Why?

Stopped by for lunch and have to admit the queso had my taste buds screaming for more! Love the crunchy tacos and the blackened chicken has a great taste. Who has crushed ice? This place does!

I had eaten take out from TF a few times before, but never had actually stepped foot inside until this night. The atmosphere is so cool! It is very eclectic and reminds me of the inside of mellow mushrooms - somewhat psychedelic. On the night in question it just so happened to be national taco day, which was a total surprise to me. Tacos were $2 and so were draft beers. Sadly Dos XX amber was no longer on draft, only bottle so I opted for the bottle. While we decided what we wanted, the 'waitress' helped explain the menu some and gave her recommendations. We decided on a pick dos tacos and went to the counter to order. We also got a small order of queso, which was delicious. Once you order, you sit where you please and they bring the food once it's ready. I don't really like this style of dining much - it gets confusing when there are 2 tables with orders of the same name, and it's unorganized.. but I digress. They have a cool hot sauce bar which ranges from sweet to super hot. They brought us the tacos and queso and we dug in. To my surprise when we finished our queso they asked us if we wanted more, I said yes thinking I would need to pay, but no check was ever brought to the table! We both got soft tacos and they were pretty good.. chicken with refried beans, beef with refried beans and blackened chicken. Next time though I think I will try the enchiladas. It is affordable and fun. It's more of tex-mex style as opposed to authentic, but I would eat here again.

Seriously the best service we have ever gotten in our life!!! Bill the manager is beyond hands on and so friendly and kind. My son and I have missed this place since we moved from FL for a reason. Morgan, who took our order was pleasant and most importantly patient. The food was amazing and service was quick. We are leaving happy, full and very impressed!! Wish we had one in Indiana! BILL AND MORGAN JOB VERY VERY WELL DONE!!!!

Enjoyed a late lunch and was very pleased with the food and knowledge of the staff on the items they serve. Cool atmosphere and one helleva hot n spicy sauce bar. This is a good time place to hang out with friends, enjoy the food and drinks and if you're lucky enough; enjoy some live entertainment.

Stopped here because of Yelp reviews. Did not disappoint! Everyone in our party loved their meals and the service was beyond excellent! The manager came out several times to check on us and both he and the wait staff were freindly and courteous. Great food! In a strip mall, so I was a little skeptical walking up, but don't fear, it's great!

Very friendly and helpful staff! I don't think my drink has ever been empty. They have an awesome hot sauce bar ranging from tangy to sweet to your head will explode. I wouldn't recommend the steak burrito though. I had it once and the steak tasted like it had been sitting there. In my opinion, the hard tacos are where its at! And if your craving something sweet I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE CHURRROS .

Love this place, the fish tacos are my absolute fav with their citrus vinaigrette!! However, today was taco Tuesday... Two blackened chicken tacos-power lite with chips and drink for $5.49... Can't beat it! Service is always awesome, if they are busty they will bring you your drink while you are still in line... Which is guaranteed on a Tuesday!

Keeping in mind that I visited this Tijuana Flats only once, but I've also been to the Tijuana Flats in Five Points as well. I have to give this place only two stars because the food wasn't memorable at all. It's suppose to be Mexican food, or at least Mexican inspired, but sadly, I feel like I can get a better taste at Chiptole or Qdoba. The first time I visited Tijuana Flats, there were so many people there that I thought it would be great food. But it wasn't. There were just as many people at the Five Points location, so I kept second-guessing myself and thinking, perhaps, THIS PARTICULAR Tijuana Flats just goofed on my food. But when I went to the Five Points location, I was just as disappointed. I must give this restaurant a couple stars for at least being able to fill its tables, but I for the life of me can't figure out why they would want to. With so many other good Mexican food destinations in Jacksonville (I'm thinking of Burrito Gallery), why would anyone settle for a place like this?

I like Tijuana Flats and go there often. Here is my most recent visit: I got the Chicken Flautas with a side of queso and black beans and rice. One thing I really like about Tijuana Flats is that you have an option to get a wheat tortilla and "power light" your meal with low fat cheese and/or sour cream. I got my meal this way and you can't tell the difference, it still tastes great. My flautas were hot and crispy with cheese/sauce oozing out. They add a red/tomato type sauce in all of their entrees, and I think it really sets them apart from every other Mexican/Tex Mex place. I dipped them in the queso and it was like heaven! The black beans were great when I put them on top of the rice. I like it when the beans have sauce in there; they aren't just beans on a plate. The hubby got the Beef Quesadilla with black beans and rice. He also got his quesadilla with a wheat tortilla and "power light" and he agreed that you couldn't tell the difference. The quesadilla was filled with beef, onions, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, cheese, and olives (you can also get jalapenos if you are feeling spicy.) It is not massive, but you still leave feeling satisfied after eating it. Whenever we visit Tijuana Flats, we have to order the Churros. I have had an obsession with Churros ever since BJ's used to sell them in the freezer section and then all of a sudden decided to stop. I was devistated! After a good 15 years, they showed up at Tijuana Flats and I almost fainted! The order comes with 6 churros, which is great because I will kill over the last of anything, so you can imagine what I would do with a churro. Even though they always give you 6, it doesn't stop the hubby from thinking that I ate one of his (every time!) because one is laying on top of the last one ;) The churros come dusted with cinnamon sugar and powdered sugar. If you have never had one, you are missing out!

Love this place! It has a fun environment and a good variety of options. They also have a fantastic variety of salsas/hot sauces. The food is nothing super special, but it's on par with most tex-mex places you will find anywhere else. I go for the sauces, chips and queso and the environment! They also have live music on the weekends and are open pretty late, which is nice.

I love their queso! I was very happy with food today and the friendliness and service from the staff...we ordered a chicken quesadilla and a chicken burrito both very tasty, also the chips were super fresh and the rice and beans were delicious...I will definitely be back for more! Thanks to the staff who made sure we felt welcome and kept our drinks full-too!

The food here is awesome, hot sauce bar is fantastic, and the atmosphere is great. That being said, of the previous 6 times I've been here, 5 of them featured awful service. One time my dad and I ordered food to go, and after waiting 25 minutes and seeing people who ordered AFTER us leave with their orders, we asked what the hold up was. The girl behind the register walked into the kitchen and walked right back out with a bag of food, which was not surprisingly cold when we got it home. Another time they forgot a complete order, and were rude when we mentioned it to them. I understand mistakes happen, but we get a negative attitude whenever we try to fix the situation BEFORE we get home. I'd also like to add that we emailed customer service after each of these experiences (as they advise you do on their social media pages), and we never heard back from anyone any of the times.

One of my favorite places to sit back with a beer, an order of chips and salsa or queso, and just relax... often, with our little min pins with us. The staff is always so friendly. Even though it is a semi self service type restaurant where you go up to the counter to place the order and pay for it before they bring it out to your table, for every visit, someone always swing out several times to see how we are doing. We usually go with our two min pins and therefore, always opt to sit outside. Majority of the time, the staff would offer our dogs some water as well. We've tried several different dishes from burritos to enchiladas to quesadillas...., everything we've tried are pretty good. Good food, great atompshere, great service and reasonable pricing... yeah, Tijuana Flats will remain one of my fav hang out spot!

I'm not quite as enamored of this place as my husband (he would eat here every day if it wouldn't kill his digestive system to do so), but it's consistently served me up my favorite tacos, so I'm pretty enamored myself. The atmosphere is, as everyone notes, a bit full of oddness, but on the plus side I'm always finding a neat new thing to look at! I'm also finding new ways to eat my Tex-Mex... I first came here on a Taco Tuesday, so I have an affinity for my blackened chicken soft wheat tacos (so good! so full of stuff!), but I have recently discovered the blackened chicken nachos, and my husband likes to go between the burrito and the chimichanga. It's really easy to try something new, if you want to, since the innards of your order are the same no matter what you get. And, of course, I must mention the hot sauce bar, where I like to stick with the "Don't Be A Chicken Shit!" sauce because it is both spicy and tasty, and because I am a creature of habit, but where YOU can get all sorts of sauces from super-mild to death-inducing. But the absolute best part is the service. The people who have taken my order have put up with indecision, explained the differences between burritos and chimichangas and enchiladas, confessed that they always have the same order as me when they eat here, and even explained how they get their fantastic crushed ice (the secret: an expensive but worth-it ice maker). Even once I have my food, they and every other staff member are stopping by to make sure everything is delicious, fix the horror of sour cream sneaking into my tacos, and offer me a dozen refills, all of which I gladly take. And they are always friendly! I'm a fan of other burrito places, but I will recommend Tijuana Flats over anyone else on service alone.
This place is awesome with a very well managed concept. You order first and one of the waitresses brings your food to the table along with a vast array of salsa types. It was a very well managed and well catered service. The food was absolutely delicious, I had the chicken quesadilla and my boyfriend had the burrito. Both items were so flavorful. The chips and salsa were delicious as well. We tried 12 different flavors of the salsa which ranged from sweet to tangy to extremely spicy made with habanero peppers. We cannot wait to return!!! Two thumbs up!

I was very impressed by the service, staff, and hot sauces. I had a burrito with ground beef but the meat tasted like a taco and not like a burrito. Too bad I liked the hot sauces.

Now I have eaten at Tijuana Flats a couple times. We used to go to this same one a couple of years ago while working in the area. Now I'm on a diet and ordered a salad having eaten Mexican salads before. So I thought I knew what I was in for. Well not so much here it came with romaine lettuce and some cheese alittle tomato plopped on top. Oh yea also a squirt of sour cream in the side. So looking at the menu I saw a dressing I thought was a vinaigrette which I like. This was alittle confusing for me when the citrus part of the dressing was on another line of the menu. I thought I was getting a regular vinaigrette Well this one was a orange citrus flavored. Really bad in my book. So next time maybe I won't be on a diet and will order a taco or something else. Oh yea Bosses can you maybe get some pickled jalapenos along with the fresh raw one that you serve. Please some of us don't like the raw ones.

Good food, large portions, like a million hot sauces. Also, they have beer. The wall art is really great, and I heard they sell or trade the painted ceiling tiles, or they let you paint one of your own or something. It's a sweet spot with some good eats.

Again, no. Just...NO. Look, I'm not on here a lot, ok? I'm not really a "Yelp" person. I mean, I don't always drink Dos Equis but when I do, I make sure to avoid Tijuana Flats. At all costs. Because, yeah...gross. I can see that many people like to eat there and that's fine, to each their own but damn, B, ain't nothin' "fresh" or "Mex" about his place. I like to compare all failed Mexican food joints to Casa Bonita in Denver, Colorado because really, that is the epitome of bad Mx. food. If you don't know what that is then you are in good fortune, trust me. There are variants of "bad Mx. food" and TF definitely falls near the bottom of the scale. #Blorf Look, man, you cannot make great tasting food without using fresh ingredients, all right? It just doesn't work that way unless you're a whiz at chemistry and and have a ginormous corporation. My "wet" green burrito from TF was this soggy, sloppy, sad mess with ungodly processed meat inside and something that looked like sour cream gone bad. The "wet" sauce? Gross! That ain't how you do it, ok? Trust me, I know. It looked/tasted like it came out of a box and was heated in the microwave. The beans and the rice? Don't even get me started. Nasty. Both tasted like they came out of a can from an underground bomb shelter somewhere in Oklahoma. The guac? Canned, bro. The torts, the flautas, the meat? All not "fresh". Even the kids meal was wack! If you're the kind of person that buys and enjoys those "taco kits" at the grocery store then you'll probably like this place. For everyone else, just say no. It's an insult to eateries that actually use fresh ingredients.

My girlfriend and I love coming here for the flautas! Never been able to enjoy the Taco Tuesdays cause the lines are INSANE. A testament of their quality tacos no doubt. Oh, and did I mention the hot sauce bar? Definitely give it a try.

I've been to this location once, but we've had it brought in for lunch at the office on several occasions; the employees love it. They're Taco Bash definitely satisfies. I make a pretty simple soft taco: beef, guacamole, and a little bit of refried beans. The beef has a nice spice to it, the guac is good. The refried beans are nothing special, but they get the job done. For those that like a little more, there's a lot to choose from: olives, diced tomatoes, lettuce, cheese, sour cream, jalepenos, rice. The delivery guy (at least the one I see on Saturdays) is great. They set it all up for you and take the trash with them when they leave.

I heartily concur with the other reviews here. I've been searching for an alternative to my formerly beloved Moe's for a while. Stopped going there once they got so bad on the nickel and diming (or rather, dollar and two dollaring). I mean almost $2 for a small souffle cup of queso, really? Or $1+ for a spoon of sour cream, seriously? But I digress. Nice funky atmosphere, but still welcoming for families and older people. Super attentive staff, very friendly. I don't think five minutes passed at a time that someone, including the manager, didn't stop by to see if we needed anything or refills. They seemed very excited we hadn't been there before and happily gave us some free chips so we could sample all the hot sauces. The food was fantastic and fresh. My hubby had the steak nachos, the steak was very good and tender, not the little strips of rubber you get some places. I had the carnita taco and the beef taco, both fantastic. We all did the "make it a meal" option with rice and beans, and my daughter, who is not a big fan of refried beans in other places, ate them all. They were very good, almost pureed. All in all, fantastic place for good Tex-mex. I will definitely add it to my roster.

It's great fresh Tex-Mex style food. I had the carnitas tacos, churros, and some sangria. The ingredients were fresh, the chips were perfect, and the churros were waaaaay too sweet and crunchy for my own good. The food is tasty, but what really makes me a fan of Tijuana Flats is the service. From the cashier down to the employees who walked through the patio every few minutes to make sure everyone was ok, my service experience was flawless.

Not many options but whatever they make is fresh and takes good. They have a huge collection of salsa's which is awesome!! It is worth giving a shot.

The food was great, the hot sauce bar was nifty, and the service was awesome. We sat here for a good couple hours and three or four different people came by to check on us at least once. The only thing I didn't like was that salsa for the chips wasn't free (although the waitress gave us some for free anyway because she was "in a good mood"). I'd recommend this place for sure, and sit outside!

All I have to say is KEEP THE CHILDREN AWAY FROM THE HOT SAUCE BAR!!! I believe there is a posting that states this sentiment explicitly over the array of 12 or so open hot sauces at the Baymeadows location. (Boy, oh boy I can imagine the incident that inspired a sign as this to be posted!! That poor, poor kid!) I love the myriad of spice you can to your fried main course, but there are sauces here that can boil your eyeballs!! I have experimented with a number of the hot sauces at the hot sauce bar, and although I consider myself somewhat of a spice tolerant Foodie, there are some sauces that made my face flush and nose run! My favorite and lowest on the heat scale is the sweet and spicy tai sauce. I find this best blanketing a mac-daddy, blackened chicken chimichanga - my favorite menu item at the Flats! I love this place but here is a little side note; The weekday evenings are the best time to get your chimi fix. The lunch crowd can be pretty thick, so go a little early, 11-ish, as this will get you back to the grind within your lunch hour.

Tijuana Flats is one of the best places in Jacksonville that I so often forget about. I'm not being sarcastic. All too often, a group of us will sit around trying to figure out what we want to eat, and we hem and haw, and no one has any ideas, until we decide on something, and as we are driving there, we see the Tijuana Flats sign and collectively smack our heads. Seriously, this place is awesome, and should be at the top of your list of places to hit when you are hungry, and want to have a few beers. The only drawback is the size of the place. It's too small to be wildly popular, so the party you have is the party you bring, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Sometimes you just want to chillax with some friends over a few beers and you don't want the whole world up in your biz. The Flats can help with that. The beer here is always cold, the staff is really friendly (and usually young and attractive), and the food is really quite good. If you are a smug Rick Bayless type who only eats Mexican-style food if it was prepared in the kitchen of an abuelita from Guadalajara, you'll be disappointed. But really, how is it possible to go wrong with cheese, beef, chicken, tortillas, beans and hot sauce, especially when you have beers to go with it. They have a hot-sauce bar that some people think makes the joint, but I rarely go over there. I'm too busy chowing down on my already perfectly seasoned food and drinking beer! Take a few friends, plop down at a table, get some beers, and watch how quickly you become a fan of this place. The Baymeadows location is my fav, but there are others.

Tijuana Flats is one of the only places I will get any kind of Tex-Mex food. Their food is fresh, the hot bar is nice and the atmosphere is fun.

While it can't hold the quick-and-easy-lunchtime-tastiness place in my heart that places like La Nop do, Tijuana Flats definitely has it all figured out. The staff is always great, super helpful and upbeat. Seriously whatever talent pool these guys are pulling from, other restaurants should be paying for access to. Or maybe its just a cool place to work for that kind of job. The food is pretty standard Tex-Mex kind of things. Although obviously not "authentic," it's good and fresh. The chips aren't my favorite, but they make up for it with a big selection of salsas and HOT sauces. I highly recommend getting a large sampling of the different hot sauces they have available at their hot sauce bar. Be bold and go for the hottest! You will be surprised by what you can handle and they are super tasty! With its slighty psychedelic, counter culture theme [for a family place, its not over the top] and great staff, this is a great place to stop for a relaxing lunch or dinner.

The food is really pretty good, their hot sauces are awesome, and the price is right. I happened to stop in on a Tuesday, and every Tuesday is Taco Tuesday where you get two tacos of your choice, chips and a drink for $4.99... That's a hard deal to beat. And to topical off, the staff is really friendly and the atmosphere is fun. Be sure to try their "most popular" sweet hot sauce. It's really good. (I took home a bottle of it)

It's Jacksonville Jewel! The wait staff is just AWESOME. You can't have a bad experience here. They have the best attitude and make sure that you have your drink fill! Price is great with quality food! It also has outdoor patio that has a better view (i.e. not quite parking lott-ie)

As a newbie to Jacksonville from Phoenix, a huge Mexican food city... This place beats out some of the best spot in AZ. As you walk in, the decor is a not the norm for a mex spot. It has a comic book look, but its a great order at the counter and seat urself relaxed atmosphere with a great little patio... But this great lil spot is hidden and you have to look for it. I'm sure glad I found it. The service was outstanding. The manager or owner made my buddy and I feel like we were at home... They were right on top of drink refills and suggestions on food and hot sauces. 5 Star service. The food. I Had the chicken burritos and chimi combo. It was amazing. They have a hot sauce bar of housemade speciality sauces that were to die for. Going to have to go back to buy some bottles. The chips and queso w sauces...can't go wrong. The food came out quick during supper rush. I don't think you can go wrong with a visit to this place. I will be coming back with friends for sure... Tacos Tuesday deal I'm going to have to check it out.

Excellent Service and great Mexican. I go with the Steak flataus and wifey gets the beef. They are hot, crispy and gooood! They have a great salsa bar also to meet any temperature need.

Taco Tuesday is the best! I got two soft tacos: 1 blackened chicken and 1 steak. So delicious! Their most popular salsa is really sweet and one of my favorites as well!

The food was good. I would come back. Very friendly folks that work there.

About Victuals, Etc... ..
Frequented the place for dinner/ pick ups. Had seldom had an okay experience, but for the most part the food was always very very good. The service is even better- I dont think I have been to any other place where almost all the servers are so friendly and enthusiastic. Not an expert on the authenticity of tex- mex flavors but the food tasted great and that's all that mattered :)

This place was great! Linley was out waitress and knew everything about everything at the restaurant. The hot sauce options were outstanding and the food was Deee-licious!!! Think Tex-Mex in Florida. For the Texas folks, picture a cross between Freebirds and Fuzzy Tacos. The biggest surprise, when I ordered a bottle beer, they served it in a coozie! I can't say enough about this place!

Very good Mexican joint with some style. Lots of art and music playing. Staff is always coming back to check on you to offer a refill etc. The sauces are amazing, I especially like the sweet and tangy sauce. Very good. Check it out

Being from Cali its hard to find good Mexican in JAX, this sure does the trick! Cool environment. Seating outside. This place is always busy for lunch during the week. But by far the best thing are all THE SAUCES! They range from mild to super super hot and change periodically.

Possibly my favorite lunch spot. There probably won't be a Saturday you wouldn't see me there. Great food and EXCELLENT service. You don't have a waiter, but the staff is always around for drink refills and other needs and are happy to assist. The hot sauce bar has all temperatures and changes sauces every few weeks.

My FAVORITE restaurant. This Mexican/American cuisine is INCREDIBLE!!! I moved to Florida two years ago, and I can't remember what it was like not to come here for birthdays and anniversaries. If I get to pick, it's Tijuana Flats! And I love bringing new people here for lunch and dinner and actually witnessing them becoming addicted to it! Haha! The chicken flautas are my favorite, but everything I've tried (which is almost everything) is fantastic. Don't forget to get some avacado ranch sauce for dipping...it's absolutely delicious. Their cheese dip is one of a kind, I've never found it anywhere else. They also have a huge hot sauce bar. They have little cups that you can use while you're there, or you can also buy a bottle and take it home. My husband makes one of his best meals using their sweet and spicy sauce! highly, Highly, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

As someone in town for a few days and we stumbled upon this place. Lucky us! Great staff, loved the food and the hot sauce bar. I'd be there multiple times per week if I lived in Florida. Great place for young, old, family or fun date!

Good food and good atmosphere. Lots of hot sauces to try.

I'd rather eat at Taco Bell. This place is crap. A lot of show, not a lot of go. The burritos are 60% tortilla, the actual substance is a bunch of filler, no actual meat. Everything comes from a can nothing is fresh. Their in house salsa is terrible. You're supposed to mask the flavor of the food with the hot sauces at the 'hot bar'. Disgusting

Awesome food every time and always great service. It's pretty casual and I also tend to get takeout a lot (which is always very quick and the waitstaff still very friendly). Prices are pretty good too.

Honestly, the food is mediocre and it is not authentic Mexican fare. This is a chain lunch place that is actually a little on the expensive side for the quality.

I can't get enough of this Florida born Mexican chain. What I love about this place is (in no particular order): great prices, fresh food, and doesn't feel like a chain restaurant. Tijuana Flats is also known for their insane selection of hot sauces. They have a hot sauce bar, as well as bottles for purchase. Ever seen those "Smack my Ass and Call Me Sally " Sauces? They were born out of this restaurant. Seriously, everything is great here. I especially love the Dos Tacos, Chimichangas, and burriotos.
(5)
John D.
Wonderful, authentic Mexican. Hard to find, but well worth it. Try the Dos Tacos! Sit down or take out!!

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

(3)Jacob C.
This place was packed but they got us in quick and brought our food out fast. The food is awesome and if you love hot sauce the hot sauce bar is heaven.
(5)Tracy D.
Can't go wrong with taco Tuesday! Service is great and has a fantastic atmosphere. Really cool place to go and hangout for a while. Queso is pretty good as well! It's not Taco Lu level queso but it gets the job done!
(4)Casey W.
The food was spot on, as always, and I've never gotten service as good anywhere else, they make it a point to go above and beyond to make your dining experience awesome. Hands down one of my favorite places in Jacksonville to dine.
(5)Steve G.
(3)Thomas C.
(2)Matt M.
(4)Wes P.
Excellent service, delicious food and insanely cheap. Dinner under ten bucks and I'm stuffed.
(5)Samantha P.
My Taco Salad wasn't great but my friends Flautas was amazing. Plus we got free chips, salsa and queso with almost too much attention from the servers asking us if we wanted refills and how we were liking things. A nice place to have a decent lunch with a friend. Exactly what I was looking for.
(4)Brittany M.
The service was amazing and the food was great! If you like Tex-Mex, then you'll love this place. If you're looking for more of a sit-down, authentic Mexican restaurant, this is not the place for you. I'll definitely be going back.
(5)Debbie F.
This restaurant is made awesome by the staff. They Rock! We hit that place almost every tuesday with several request and they sincerely take care of us especially when we celebrate a Zumba Crew Birthday. This is OUR TF! Every visit is a great visit!
(4)Elizabeth M.
Good food and good service. A nice place to go for a casual Friday night!
(3)Brent M.
Awesome texmex great assortment of hot sauces. The service is very god here at he baymeadows location. They hbe live music on Friday nights very good at hat.
(5)Vinay G.

(4)Kristina K.
(3)Olivia D.
Great service every time I come in. Always like to enjoy lunch and very close to FSCJ. Gets super busy on Taco Tuesday's but they definitely try to accommodate you as soon as possible.
(5)Meghan C.
(5)Tammy C.
(5)ZANNE K.
After having a bad experience at the Lake Nona Orlando T.F.'s, this Jax location redeemed my faith in the brand. I visited over the holidays. The staff were very friendly and attentive, the food was cooked to perfection and served fast. Thank you Butler, Kate and Andre'!!!
(5)William W.
Why?
(2)Chris W.
Stopped by for lunch and have to admit the queso had my taste buds screaming for more! Love the crunchy tacos and the blackened chicken has a great taste. Who has crushed ice? This place does!
(4)Jim B.
Great refills on guacamole and chips. The servers are always checking to see if you need anything.
(5)Amanda C.
(4)Reagan G.
(5)Allison C.
I love this place. The food is great, and the service is even better. Great atmosphere and great hosts!
(5)Bill A.
(4)Sam N.
(5)Alyssa D.
(4)Ashley K.
Super friendly and helpful staff. My drink and salsa stayed full the entire visit. Food is reasonably priced. The chips are nothing special but the salsa makes up for it.
(5)Sharra S.
Awesome food and the staff is so friendly and attentive. You will ALWAYS have a full drink and anything else you need! Love the tacos and sauce bar.
(5)Danielle R.
(5)Khristopher B.
(2)Jill C.
(4)Colby S.
(4)Charmaine B.
This place was so delicious and was very busy on a thrusday night i didnt expect this place to be busy on a weeknight i was with my church singles group
(5)M F.
Needed a south of the border fix.. ( Mexican not Cuban) and found this place. Decent food, reasonable prices. Located between the Winn Dixie & Publix in a shopping center on Baymeadows & Southside.
(4)Renda H.
(4)Jenn C.
(2)Tom T.
I went here to meet friends, and I have never been back to Chipotle Mexican Grill since. Tijuana Flats is far superior to Chipotle Mexican Grill. Big burritos and awesome guacamole.
(5)Edie A.
We just had an amazing dinner and it was made better by the attentiveness of the manager and his staff. Highly recommend! !!
(5)Kathy C.
(4)Alison M.

Great place awesome décor inside and the food is even better. The painted ceiling tiles are really cool. The flatas are amazing the chips and queso are great.

Deliciously cheap. Great hot sauce bar. Fresh ingredients.

Food is decent.

(5)Marjie C.
My all time favorite place to get large portions of food for cheap! I love the hot sauce bar! I've tried almost everything and haven't been disappointed at all.
(4)Will E.
First time there, had good food and very nice and helpful staff.
(4)Jennifer D.
(4)Ravi B.
Not many options but whatever they make is fresh and takes good. They have a huge collection of salsa's which is awesome!! It is worth giving a shot.
(4)Jocelyn R.

(5)Hilary L.
(4)Bart B.
(I took home a bottle of it)
(4)Kristi V.

(4)Teagues C.
Taco Tuesday is the best! I got two soft tacos: 1 blackened chicken and 1 steak. So delicious! Their most popular salsa is really sweet and one of my favorites as well!
(5)Ramón Y.
The food was good. I would come back. Very friendly folks that work there.
(4)About Victuals, Etc...
(4)Kevin B.
(4)Jeremy F.
Very good Mexican joint with some style. Lots of art and music playing. Staff is always coming back to check on you to offer a refill etc. The sauces are amazing, I especially like the sweet and tangy sauce. Very good. Check it out
(4)Marisa B.
Awesome food and amazing service!!!!
(5)Jackie H.
I love this place! They are always friendly and the food is always good. Bill the GM is amazing always so welcoming.
(5)Jitan K.
Being from Cali its hard to find good Mexican in JAX, this sure does the trick! Cool environment. Seating outside. This place is always busy for lunch during the week. But by far the best thing are all THE SAUCES! They range from mild to super super hot and change periodically.
(5)Clinton H.
Love this place! Great food, awesome staff, rocking tunes.
(5)Eric P.
(5)Allison M.
(5)Carrie G.
As someone in town for a few days and we stumbled upon this place. Lucky us! Great staff, loved the food and the hot sauce bar. I'd be there multiple times per week if I lived in Florida. Great place for young, old, family or fun date!
(5)Rob J.
Good food and good atmosphere. Lots of hot sauces to try.
(4)Scott W.
Disgusting
(1)Nick A.
Awesome food every time and always great service. It's pretty casual and I also tend to get takeout a lot (which is always very quick and the waitstaff still very friendly). Prices are pretty good too.
(5)Nancy H.
Honestly, the food is mediocre and it is not authentic Mexican fare. This is a chain lunch place that is actually a little on the expensive side for the quality.
(2)Natalie B.
(5)John D.
Wonderful, authentic Mexican. Hard to find, but well worth it. Try the Dos Tacos! Sit down or take out!!
