We went here for dinner tonight. Everything we got was amazing! I had the vegetarian Tom Yum soup and red curry with tofu. I asked for medium spiciness and it was perfect. My boyfriend got the shrimp curry, "Thai hot". The shrimp were fresh and he was very impressed as well. It's hard to find good Thai food, but this place is the best we've found since Taste of Thai in San Diego! Loved it! Staff was friendly and attentive. Got a strong impression they are family owned and operated. Will definitely be back!

Good place to eat Thai food. At one point I got the pho and the other day I got the Red Curry. Pho was really good, very close to my mom's soup. It comes in one size, but enough to fill you up. I like my soup spicy and sour so I had a lot of lime And sriracha. The red curry was delicious. I like it spicy as well. Love the tingle of coconut milk and spicy flavor in my mouth. It consists of bamboo, baby eggplants, green and red bell peppers. All cooked very well. The staff is nice depending on who seated you and takes your order. The younger staff are much nicer than the older one.

I have been at this place at least two times. I like this place because it has a mord authentic selection of asian cuisine. I love thd soups and the noodles. They are excellent. But most of all are the desserts. Omg the desserts are really home made flavor. And the mango sweet rice dessert is out of this world. I think one of these days all i will order will be three or four of this dessert and that will be my dinner. The unsweetend ice tea is very good too.

Tried this place because MaiThai down the street was closed, but we were very impressed. We ordered the Green papaya salad, chicken pad see new, chicken pinang curry and the basil and chili sizzling fish. All were very delicious! They didn't have the whole fish when we went but for $19.95, it's definitely worth getting.
(5)Michelle P.
This place has no decor but is clean and the staff were friendly. I had chicken pad thai and the portion was huge . Great value for $9.95. My husband had Panang curry and it had a nice flavor.
(4)Brooke P.
My new favorite Thai place in Mandarin. I have been waiting for a good Thai place around here. I have had the curry and pad thai dishes for lunch which include an eggroll or soup. We usually visit once a week.
(5)James J.
I will give this place 5 stars because the Thai food is very good! I say Thai food because I tried the Pho and I would not get it again, I have had Pho many times before and this one was missing something. Other than the Pho, this place is very good! I have ordered the curry and the pad Thai, both were excellent! I took my girlfriend here for her first Thai experience and she LOVED it! I would highly recommend this place!

Typical local Thai food Very simple More of a lunch spot Good prices and great portion size They are not big on presentation and finesse. They don't garnish with orchids and beautiful asian designs but it's a simple restaurant . For dessert I usually expect a sliced banana spring roll with ice cream , honey and sea same seeds and they literally gave me it straight out the fryer. Therefore I would come for lunch specials , not dinner . It's very causal . If you want the option of getting food 5 thai Hot, they will make it happen ! The best part about this place is the TEA! Pretty large Thai iced teas that are beautiful ! The best one I've had yet !! Check it out!

First Yelp review, signed up just for this restaurant - it's THAT good. Like others have said, this little place is a hidden gem. I've lived less than 2 miles away for nearly a year and never gave it a thought, but so glad my husband and I tried it! We started with the green papaya salad, it was delicious and according to him, spot-on authentic...he knows the real deal. Next was Pho bowl, chicken. Again, the flavors of the basil (which was served fresh, along with the bean sprouts to add in yourself) and other fresh ingredients was were delicious. We shared this huge bowl and had enough to take home and share again the next day. The next dish was Chicken Pad Thai, level 3 heat. More American level 3 than Thai, but perfect for us. No issues whatsoever. Again, very good. Lastly, the mango and sticky rice, covered with coconut milk, for dessert. This was simply heavenly. Hard to mess it up, even at the worst of places, but it was just SO good, perfect rice sticky-ness and ripe mango. Yes, the "ambiance" doesn't take you away to Thailand, but so what? It was very clean and comfortable. The older waitress was sweet, friendly and fast. The young chef came over to say hello and answer some questions. The food was reasonably priced, and the portions large. This week be a "go-to" for Thai for us!

This was a solid choice for lunch, very fast, nice lunch menu. I had the pad prik king with pork and it was served with soup for the lunch special. Reasonable portion. The only thing odd was that the green beans were cut into small 1.5-2" pieces rather than full length green beans. I would go back to try it again for dinner and definitely think it is a solid lunch choice.

This little corner plaza restaurant has some great food items. Try their lunch special for under $10 which includes an entree & small soup of the day. They have a broad menu of both Thai & Vietnamese options. Having had several of both, the Thai dishes are the way to go. The Pho is decent but there are better options around Jacksonville. The Thai curries (all 4 offerings available on lunch special), Basil, Ka Pow, Pad Thai & other staples are done well, & available from mild to Thai Hot. Thai iced coffee & tea are good but a little heavy on the sweet side.
(4)D W.
One of my favorite lunch spots. Great service! Pad Phet is my favorite dish here. The Pho is good also. Full of flavor!
(4)Caron S.
The pros: generous portions, spotless interior, tasty food, lots of menu items/choices, easy parking. The cons: slightly awkward experience -- it was super quiet/no music playing so you had the feeling everyone was listening (the one woman in the next booth and the owner/waiter who was standing behind at the register) and the Papa John's next door shares a wall so there are weird occasional bangs against the wall. Would definitely return. Get the tom yum soup (I had it with seafood and loved it) or chicken skewers to start and any of the noodle or rice dishes. We tried the drunken noodles with shrimp and the jungle steak with rice -- both were tasty and enough for two meals. Hello, leftovers!
(4)Lou L.
The Pho was straight out of a can. Pathetic!!! The Pad Thai had no flavor and no beef. I wouldn't feed my dog this food. I'm never coming back. And if I was you I would run too!!!
(1)Jenna S.
This place was fantastic! It's funny because it's tucked away in a shopping center, but was still getting tons of business. Guess the secret is out. I got some vegetarian noodles & my parents had some chicken noodles & chicken fried rice. Good reviews all around. The service was also great. Even though it was bustling on a Friday evening, we got everything in good time and piping hot. I'm just visiting, but I'm sure my parents will be back. :)
(5)Drew B.
After nearly two years I still come here regularly. I've been hooked on the Pad Phet lunch special. The portion is perfect and the flavor is excellent. Some days are busier than others, but the service is always great and the food is always fresh.
(5)Julie Marcellina V.
This place obviously does not serve your normal Thai food. Everything we ordered tasted off, but still good. I would say this restaurant is very inspired by Chinese cooking. We ordered the Tom Kha soup and it was a bit zesty. Too much lime leaves. The panang curry we ordered was very watery, but tasty. The Pad See Kao wasn't served with the proper type of noodles. You do have to understand that I cook Thai food at home and I'm very picky.
(3)Lauryn B.
Will Never go here again. The food was boring, and the sauces had no dimensions, literally just tasted like soy sauce with garlic. I'm sorry but for $12-14 per dish, it needs to taste worth it! Mai Thai 1 block away is a million times better! The interior of this place is boring. Lastly, when I told the waitress the dish lacked flavor, and didn't taste good, she said I could get another but I would have to pay for BOTH!!! Seriously, horrible customer service!!!! This was a First & Last for me!
(1)Angie C.
The best Thai food I've ever had! The atmosphere is unassuming, but the taste and quality of the food is excellent!
(5)Kristina M.
A hidden gem! The service was immensely quick here! Came here with my family and the food had varied spice levels to choose from. Medium was a healthy start. I eat plenty of Indo-Paki food so the medium was a great level for me. I really doubt I could have handled hotter :P. We ordered: 1) spring rolls, 2) gyoza dumplings, 3) Thai fried rice, 4) beef round pho, 5) tofu panang curry, 6) Thai barbeque ribs, and last but lot last 7) their awesome Thai iced tea. Everything treated so great and accurate! We absolutely loved everything. I totally recommend their panang curry and the Thai barbeque ribs. Full of flavor. Or later of ribs hardly had day areas in it, which I thought was wonderful because I'm a wuss who picks fat off of ribs. Panang comes with rice. Pho came with a decent plate of bran sprouts, lemon wedge (wish it was a lime), and lemon grass and basil. Love this place so far! The cook and owner even cane out a few times to talk to his customers. How friendly is that?! Jolly man, great food. Would come here again and I recommend to Thai lovers.
(5)Anne B.
Why can't I give 10 stars?? This place is a hidden gem, and it's only a matter of time before everyone discovers it. I started with a bowl of the Tom Kha chicken soup and it was perfect. Definitely not instant, and the perfect amount of everything. I also had the Thai iced tea and the beef pho - both of which, again, were great. My boyfriend had the chicken pad thai which was a teeny bit too spicy for him, but he ordered medium... At a Thai place. Kind of comes with the territory. The portions are HUGE. Titanic, actually. You will have leftovers, but if you don't, you may need to rethink your intake. In short, I love this place and I'll definitely be back.
(5)Anonymous T.
Meh. I ordered 2 entrees, chicken pad thai, penang curry, and 2 appetizers, crab rangoons and chicken sate. I picked it up to go and $40 later I was not impressed. The pad thai noodles were clumped together like mush and very dry. The crab rangoons had some kind of cury in th instead of the common white cream cheese. Everything else was ok
(3)Renda H.
Very good! I had the Tom Ka soup with chicken and the Pad Thai with chicken the soup was excellent the Pad Thai was good but a little sweet for my taste. My friend had the Cashew Shrimp with jasmine rice and it was really good! I will definitely be back again to try more dishes. I certainly hope this place stays here for a long time because the previous restaurants at this location were not so sucessful...so if you're in Mandarin stop by and check it out.
(4)David K.
I haven't been particularly thrilled with the Thai restaurants in the area. This one is definitely above average. Menu was a bit different from the norm. Sevice was really friendly. Plus, it's a place where the kids can have Pho and the wife doesn't have to. We'll definitely be back.
(4)Carla W.
I ate here yesterday. The food and service was quite amazing. Our waitress was so pleasant. The Thai ice tea was delicious. I would recommend this restaurant as a great place for Thai food.
(4)Qi Z.
bad service! We used to enjoy it a lot. However, it's definitely not as good as it was. Bonus: hardest rice makes you feel like you are in Greece
(1)Jennifer W.
This is the best Thai in jax! I have never had something that I didn't absolute love from their menu. My personal fav is the red curry. The fresh spring rolls are amazing too. This place is perfect!!
(5)April K.
Incredibly delicious! We had hot saki, beef pho, chicken fried rice and vegi pad thai. It was all perfect. So glad this is in Mandarin, everyone needs to try!
(5)Carter R.
The best fried rice I've ever had. Seriously life-changing. The curry is solid, but I will get it spicier next time. Hidden gem in the Winn-Dixie plaza that used to be a pupuseria.
(5)Courtney P.
This is the best Thai food I have had in Mandarin. Good, clean, honest dishes. Moderately price, nice staff, clean restaurant. My family has been twice since we found it 2 weeks ago and got take-out. We have tried over 7 of their dishes some of which are the chicken laab salad, the pho, drunken noodles, ginger beef, tom kha soup, and sweet rice dessert. All of them were subtly flavored, well prepared and excellent! I agree that this is a welcome addition to Mandarin and much better than other Thai restaurant in the area, hands down.
(5)Kehau C.
I adore this place. Today was my second visit and it was wonderful again. Eventually I will order everything on the menu-- and it's a pretty extensive menu, so it looks like I am going to become a regular here. My first visit I ordered lumpia to start (delicious!) and pho for the entree. Not going to lie, the broth wasn't my favorite, but that was easily doctored with some hoisin sauce. The panang curry I had today was PERFECT. I like that their spice levels include: medium, hot, and Thai hot. I opted for "hot" because I hadn't had anything spicy here yet and I didn't want to die, but I think next time I'll bump it up to "Thai hot". The manager and servers are nice and attentive. Food comes out in a timely fashion. Also they have cute white dishes, which I really like-- somehow food always tastes better to me on beautiful white platters. GO HERE. You won't be disappointed.
(5)Piyarat S.
Very nice place to have a late lunch. I tried the duck noodle soup and had a glass of Thai iced tea to go along with it. The broth was flavourful with a generous portion of noodles, bean sprouts and basil. The duck was tender and unlike other places, did not taste fatty, so I was pleasantly surprised. I wished there was a bit more duck thougj. The Thai tea topped off the meal really well.
(4)Benedict H.
I had the Pad Thai and she had the Red Curry...delicious! We also had a Thai Iced Tea....great way to end a great meal! Service was great...will definitely come back!
(5)Steve T.
I had the drunken noodle (pad kee mao), wife had pad thai. Yes, I know, not the most obscure Thai dishes, but a staple and should be done right. It was, we enjoyed it quite thoroughly. Very attentive and friendly wait staff. The head cook is Thai (hopefully that means authenticity guaranteed???). In summary, not the most amazing Thai food I've ever had (I would be surprised if it was, being that this is Mandarin and not Los Angeles) but definitely good enough that I'll certainly be back.
(4)Raiza R.
I love this place. We've been coming here quite regularly from the very first day they opened! Yummy food, good service, the owner and his wonderful wife are so sweet and the servers are also adorable. They have perfect portions for their lunch specials comes with soup of the day or an egg roll (both delicious) Heading over for dinner now! Later ;)
(5)John B.
I thought I liked the food and the prices. I have been there numerous times. I don't think I am not going back, they charged for extra dressing without telling us. The side salad is $4.95 and they skimp on the dressing so your forced to ask for more. Service is always slow. I wanted extra vegetables and there is always a charge. Just not worth the aggravation....
(2)R L.
Very good place! Much better than other thai place down street in publix shopping center. This place just opened up two weeks ago. Surprised to see Lumpia(fried eggrolls). A welcome addition to Mandarin area. Thai Iced Tea is well done. Chicken Pad thai was good with medium spicey for added kick. Def will return again!
(5)Cate D.
Hidden gem! Delicious little family owned restaurant. Very reasonable prices. Great, friendly service!
(5)Rachel C.
Spacious and clean venue with friendly and efficient customer service. Food is authentic, good and without fussy plating (ie no fancy carved vegetables). A welcome addition to Mandarin restaurant scene! Recommendation: Pad Thai and Pho.
(4)Melanie M.
Huge portions, cheap beer, fast, friendly service and delicious food...what more could you ask for? It's my new favorite restaurant. I will definitely be back soon!
(5)Camryn G.
The food is decent but the waiters are super handsy with children. Made for a very uncomfortable dining experience.
(2)Christa L.
Awesome. Had a great experience and delicious food. Huge portions and good prices. The Thai tea is dreamy. Will be back again soon.
(5)Kay O.
We had a Friday lunch here. We were the Only people in the whole place. We Ordered chicken satay and dumplings. Both great. My husband enjoyed the pad Thai. I had Beef noodle bowl and it tasted like perfume but maybe it was just not for me. everything else was great. Fast service. Pleasant people. Would go again.
(4)Eric M.
Great food, great place, and nice owners. Vegan options available...but the food was a bit over priced. Pretty good all around though.
(3)Al A.
Great food and pleasant, fast service. Looks to be a family run place. The people there were friendly and the food was really good. I ate here once for lunch and once for dinner and was not disappointed either time. Food was hot and tasty and there was plenty of it. This is just the sort of local family place I love to fine when I am working away from home.
(5)Larry C.
This restaurant has become one of our favorites. Today I had the fried basil and chili with fried fish fillet while my wife has the garlic with tofu. We've also had the pho noodle soup, pad Thai, drunken noodles and several more. All were excellent. My only minor complaint is that they are reluctant to really spice it up. On a 1-5 scale there 5 is still pretty mild. This is now one of our comfort places.
(5)Jason T.
The restaurant is like a hidden gem in San Jose. The food is great. I ordered Pad Thai and it was amazing. I'm wanted to order it again. A friend ordered the beef fried rice and he said it was great too. Great customer service. The chef was nice and explained the menu to us. Also the menu enormous. There was a lot of great things in and on the menu also. Can't wait to come back.
(5)Christopher C.
VERY GOOD and also very reasonably priced. The place was also almost empty when I went in. Great service, immediate seating, great food, low price, what more could you want?! Don't let this great place go out if business!! GO GET THAI FOOD HERE, YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED.
(5)Bob R.
Very good. Food was fresh & delicous. The eggplant special was very tasty. It's not fancy, but it's clean, people are very friendly and service was quite good. I want to go back, so please check it out so they stick around.
(4)Ben F.
Solid basil curry, very nice people. Two thumbs up!
(4)Liz F.
Fabulous! Clean, efficient, affordable, and DELICIOUS! Highly recommended!
(5)Hannes B.
We met some friends here. They've been here before, we have not. We usually frequent another spot we have come to love, but it unfortunately was closed. We arrived a few minutes after the the first part of the group. Almost immediately we noticed a difference in treatment from the waitress. She was laughing an being nice to the original 3, but to myself and my financee, not so much. Very straight faced, and almost seemed annoyed that we showed up. I would HIGHLY recommend that you know what you want before you order. The reason for that is, my fiancee ordered a dish, and it ended up being nowhere near spectacular. I asked if she could get something else. The waitress seem annoyed and said she would have to go and check with them back in the kitchen. Came back a while later, and said: "You can take that home, but if you want something else, you're going to have to pay for it". ARE YOU SERIOUS??? What kind of service is that? HOW are you expecting to retain your customer base if what you have to offer isn't all that, and when they want to try something different, you refuse? I'll tell you how. It's not going to happen! We were both utterly shocked and taken back and that answer. Aside from that, flavors really were lacking. Even though we ordered different dishes, they looked EXACTLY the same, with the exception of the color of sauce. The crispy spring rolls we ordered as an appetizer were quite greasy. Had to ring them out with napkin. Personally, I'd recommend some place else. I will not be returning to this place. I'm not going to pay for something I don't like, ever again, which is what I was forced to do this time.
(1)Robin S.
The dumplings are the best! Petite and delicate, just the real deal. The curry and noodle dishes are fabulous. We were not disappointed and will return!
(4)Lisa S. T.
I go to Indochine and here, to Thai Cuisine & Noodle House... and that is it for Thai. This place is absolutely delicious, always efficient and their customer service is superb. I do need to hit up Lemongrass as I have yet to go. It's just Indochine and Thai Cuisine are so darn good... I'm afraid to stray away.
(5)Mitet E.
Ate here for the first time. I was not disappointed. The Basil & Chili Fish was so delicious. The green papaya salad was good, as well. Would definitely come back. Ambience was not as pleasing, but the flavors of the food (the ones that I had, anyway) was great! Louis, the owner, and Jenny, my server, were also very accommodating.
(5)B T.
They nail it every time! A super friendly, personable staff, spotless establishment and very high quality food are why we can't stop coming back. Don't be alarmed by the somewhat stark ambiance of the restaurant. As soon as you are greeted by the friendly and fast waitresses and taste the food, you'll forget about anything else. When you happily pay your reasonable check, you'll wonder what you'll order tomorrow.
(5)Jeremy M.
This is the third time we have eaten here and tried a new dish every time, I have eaten at all the well known Thai restaurants in Jacksonville and this one tops the list hands down.
(5)Paul G.
We just happened to stumble across this restaurant tucked into the corner of a strip mall. Have been there twice, the first time for a takeout lunch, which was excellent! The second time, we brought discriminating friends with us for a sit down eat in dinner. Everyone was delighted with the quality of the food. The only reason this is not a five-star rating is that, unlike most Thai restaurants we have been to, the rice is an extra charge. Being vegetarian, we will go back to this restaurant often.
