Simply Tasty Thai is becoming a habit - a delicious undertaking that never fails to satisfy the hunger for a well-seasoned fire-in-the-belly (esp in this very cold winter weather) Thai dining experience. Going thru the menu every time I visit , and Chef-Owner Nancy is always nearby to explain and encourage trying out new items. I am at 2 peppers with my preferred level of "heat" although I have family and friends who routinely order 5 peppers (Thai-Hot!!!) level. At any level, Nancy's cuisine spiced up with her home-grown herbs and spices spell Thai Knockout!!!

Based on reviews we tried this place It lacks the depth of taste. Good ambience However the food lacks flavor and too salty. Either you feel like you are eating chunks of salt (everything is salty there) or re-fried spring rolls from second time around. I'd recommend going to sala Phad Thai on beach. The most authentic Thai cuisine you willl taste. Best pad Thai at sala Phad Thai!

I would have never just stopped in here but because of Yelp we decided to give it a try. I am so glad we did! Wow what a hidden gem. The food was amazing. We order the #2 appetizer that gave us an opportunity to try things we wouldn't have. The Tom Yum soup was the BEST I've ever had. We stayed traditional in entrees with Se Ew and Pad Thai. The only suggestion I have is don't try to be cool with the heat. My hubby and I both love spice but my #2 was a usual #3 and his #3 had him sweating and beet red. The other plus was the team. They were funny and relaxed and knowledgable. This is my new Thai home.

First time here and we really enjoyed it. The perfectly seasoned papaya salad was nice and crunchy. Drunken noodles stir fried with just the right amount of oil to ensure they didn't stick together while not overly greasy. The Larb was also very tasty. It was well minced and seasoned with a lime and herb mixture which didn't over power the meat. The pineapple fried rice was moist and mounted beautifully in a halved pineapple shell. If you are a vegetarian, give the spicy garlic eggplant and tofu a try. Dishes were well presented and service was attentive. Be sure to check out the artwork on the wall and the fun miniatures in the display case. We will return and try to save room for desserts next time:)

Still coming to this really great Thai place. I would recommend it to anyone. There is also a nice little Vietnamese joint called Pho Viet in the area that is also excellent. The neighborhood is really improving thanks to years of effort by the City of Atlantic Beach and local business owners. I see a bright food future for Mayport Road. Update: Simply Tasty Thai restaurant has expanded and now it has, shazam, ambience too. Since my last review, lots of people have discovered this gem. I am still giving it five stars. This place is one if the best eateries at the Beaches and may have the best Thai in all of Jacksinviile. Plus, they put Nam Sod on the menu, my favorite!!! Try it for lunch! Update: I went to Simply Tasty Thai for my birthday dinner with family on March 24, 2015 and had a fantastic meal. Everything was wonderful. This restaurant just keeps getting better! DO NOT MISS IT! UPDATE JUNE 2015: The crispy duck is awesome!!! The nam sod is wonderful! Dining partners report that the shrimp stir fry is delicious!

This place makes some delicious Thai food! It has been my go to place for Thai for about the past year and not once have I been disappointed. If you are looking for great Thai food in this area, this is the place to go.

Delicious food. Nice atmosphere. Friendly wait staff. We will be back. We started with steamed dumplings and a cucumber salad. After my husband ate the last bite of the salad he said it would be worth the trip just to have that salad, fresh crunchy cucumbers with a perfect balance of vinegar, pepper flake, green onion and sweetness. Then he had a giant bowl of tom yum soup and I had choo chee with chicken. We also ordered a side of roti bread, a flat bread that reminded me of a doughnut but it wasn't sweet. We shared back and forth arguing as to who's was tastier. I can't wait to explore the rest of the menu.

Simply Tasty Thai is doing a lot correctly. Fresh rolls were jam packed with some of the freshest veggies I've had in a while. Clean clear flavors. Deboned crispy duck was well prepared- crispy skin, succulent meat- sauce was a tad overseasoned- think it would be better with the curry sauce. Heat index was on point though (we ordered everything thai spicy) Curry was good- however all flavors were right at the threshold of too much, not the tightrope you necessarily want to walk. Salt was heavyhanded. Then the pad see ew. Spice level was there and portion size was decent for the highish price tag- but there was NO WOK SEAR at all- this one detail is what separates the ho-hum from the delicious- and they are missing the mark on this detail. Turn up your woks people and let those sugars turn brown and black- otherwise we can all do this at home. Dessert was banana lumpia- obviously frozen and then refried- not good. Overall- a decent meal for a higher than usual price-tag. The search for authentic thai continues...

Food is pretty good. However, it's not the best in Jax. Their prices are way out too high for dinner especially considering the portion sizes. Paying over $50 for 3 to-go meals with no drinks isn't acceptable unless your the best; they are not.

This was our second visit to Simply Taste Thai. On our first visit we weren't wowed by the food but the owners hospitality was very inviting. So, we decided to give it another try. On our second visit we brought along a couple of friends. We were on a Thai Cuisine Mission... Appetizers, Dinner and Dessert. I was excited to try the Coconut Mango Rice, heard it was amazing. Upon our arrival we were sat by a stylish younger Asian women. (Here is where the train wreck started) I asked for a booth and lost our chance to have her as our waitress. Our new waitress greeted us with a blank face and a feeling of obligation to take our order. At one point she asked if we were ready to order and as my wife prepared to give her order, the waitress walked away. Upon her return 2 people in our party asked for suggestions. Her response was as boring as the misspelled menu. Shortly after we ordered, apps rolled out and were amazing, Crab Rangoon and Money Bags. My taste buds water as I type. (Guess I may still be hungry cuz the portions are SMALL.) As dinner arrives the wind was taken out of my sails. Their was a hair of questionable origin on my plate and in my food. Rather than ruin everyone's meal, I handed the plate back to the food runner and point at the hair. I sent it back and decided to share with my wife. The Chicken Pad Thai was alright. I'd compare it to cheap Chinese take out with a Thai twist. No worries though, I'm ready for desert. As I look up the waitress was pushing my check in my face. I asked to place my desert order and was shut down with finding out they had closed the kitchen. Ummmm, I thought they would have at least asked if we would like deserts before closing out our tabs. As we pay out, the over aged food runner returns. He asked us if everything was ok. I kindly told him I would write a yelp review. He pressed me to tell him how I felt about my visit. I declined and again said I would write a proper review. Long story short, he chewed me out for not wanting to write a favorable review. He also told me no one will care about my review. I sum the spot up as a low budget Thai restaurant that has Lemongrass or indochine pricing. Step up your game and drop your attitude.

Another great meal here. Pad Se We, Green curry, Ginger chicken and a couple of appetizers. It was all so good. Not too crowded on a Saturday night. No wait. Service was very good.

Eh, it was ok. We were on vacation staying at the Best Western across the street and ordered for delivery. But we were told they weren't delivering and we had to pick it up. Bummer, but no big deal, we're across the street. I ordered the chicken pad thai, but they were out of chicken. Really?! I ending up ordering the shrimp pad thai instead. It wasn't horrible, but I definitely got heartburn the next day. Maybe a little too much peanut sauce? The restaurant looked decent and clean. No complaints here. I can't say that I recommend it though. Try it for yourself, maybe I was having an off day.

I honestly live like a minute from here and finally decided to try it. My husband and I went in and sat at the small little bar in the front. The decor was great, lots of interesting pictures. We were greeted by a friendly woman (that I think was one of the owners) that welcomed us with menus and took our drink order. My husband got the jasmine hot tea and I got the lucky Buddha beer because it sounded cool and actually was delicious! It was a light beer and very refreshing in a really cool bottle that I ended taking home. We were doing something light because we knew we were going to dinner tonight so we ordered a bunch of appetizers to try and get a taste of how their food is. We ordered the lumpia, spring rolls and calamari also The steamed dumplings. Everything was so delicious the calamari was so tender and the dumplings you could tell were homemade steamed to perfection with a great dipping sauce. We also ordered the Spring rolls that came with a fresh cucumber salad in a spicy sweet sauce that were addicting. All the prices on the menu are very reasonable and the food looks amazing. There are so many things I want to try! The banana lumpia with ice cream for dessert sounds amazing! There was a lady that came out with dishes from the kitchen that talked to us about the food and told us that she makes it fresh just like in the Philippines. She told us the different ingredients she uses and described how she cooked them. It was really cool to hear about how everything is homemade because you can't really find that to many places. Simply tasty Thai is a great little spot that I think everyone should check out. The service was excellent the food is authentic and definitely worth trying if not over and over again. The small, intimate family feel you get from the staff is so comforting. I love places like that, you really feel appreciated as a customer to their business. So glad that we tried this place and we will definitely be back soon.

We drive from Amelia Island just to eat here. We drive for 25 minutes, get on the ferry, drive for another 10. It's that good. Just as good as anything you would find in Thailand. Service is great. People friendly.

OMG ... Had a fantastic meal tonite with my best friend. We have been regulars for a few years now. This is a family run place that is clean, fresh, fast, and VERY good. Located on mayport rd. In front of the Navy Exchange/Comm. If you think you know good Thai food. Try this... If you never have tried Thai food. Try this... This place is very, very good. We ordered our usual ap ' Thai sampler' and a new item 'Crab roll' .Entrees where new item's 'curry trio' and 'beef short ribs' both of us had brown rice. Pics can't tell you how good it was. WOW... Service at this place is wonderful. They have a hubby and wife team. Very knowledgeable and polite. Owner ' Nancy' is a wonderful cook and talented artist. Her art work is all over the walls. I hope after reading this y'all will try Simply Tasty Thai. Awesome Food.

We had Tom Yum soup, chicken satay, lumpia and yellow curry. All of it was amazing! The decor is nice and much more than what you'd expect from a strip mall. The service is memorable- they added chicken to my boyfriend's dish after he requested more meat. And no extra cost! Don't miss it!

  • Anthony S.

Back on a Thursday night. The place is quiet, and not busy. Service today is fast, and incredibly friendly. I have yet to have anything that is not simply tasty here. I HIGHLY recommend the Mango Sticky rice for desert. Mangoes are currently out of season, but getting the mango mousse instead if fresh mangoes is *almost* as good.

Me and the girlfriend got takeout last night. We ordered the appetizer of the Golden Money Bags. They looked amazing, i loved how they were wrapped! The plum sauce was sweet and delicious, and the little pastry's were so savory. For the entree, we got a Green Shrimp Curry and a yellow chicken curry. We ordered both as mild. The green curry was delicious, it had the perfect amount of spice in it and was very flavorful. The only complaint I would have was that the shrimps had their tails on still, and I had to pull them off. Not a big deal though, they tasted really good and fresh. The Yellow curry was pretty solid as well, from the couple of tastes I had. Next time we go back, we're going to try sitting inside. It looked very cute and cozy in there. Good ambience. Only giving 4 stars because we got takeout instead of the full experience. We will dine inside next and update our rating.

My favorite thai food in town by far! Super friendly staff, good service and excellent food. I always start with fresh rolls, cucumber salad or sometimes calamari. The pumpkin curry is awesome, as is everything else I have had here. Good prices as well. Give this place a try instead of wherever you normally get thai food and you will not be disappointed!!

My top Thai spot in Jax. Always nice and quick. This is my go to Thai place. Try the Choo Chee! You won't regret it.

  • Nisarg P.

Yes, it's a long way away from Jax. Yes, it's in a strip mall. Yes, it's totally worth the drive. If you're ravenous, get one of the samplers. It's a good value to start your future Thai food obsession. Was introduced to this far away gem from a colleague. (Read: A foodie dealer gave me the first hit). Try the Crisy duck choo chee my dealer said. WTF I thought because it sounded like he was ordering sushi at a Thai place. "I'll try the shrimp Pad Thai to gauge this place," I replied. That's how my addiction began. I tried his "sushi." It was redic delish. Like nom nom nom good. Literally every time I've gone here, I've ordered the choo chee. One time I ordered the pancit to venture out. Then unable to resolve my shakes, I ordered the choo chee at the same visit and took the pancit home. It's that f*in good. My wife always gets the red curry and never waivers and it always happy. Do yourself a favor though and also get roti if you get the curry. It's made in-house, it's flakey, buttery, warm, and has multiple delicate layers. You'll high five me for that tip. Wife and I introduced my out of town in-laws to this place. (Read: Gave them their first hit). Now they're hooked. When they come in town, this is what they want. Choo chee and red curry. Interesting notes: 1. Nancy is the chef de cuisine and her artwork adorns the walls. 2. This place was doing so well that the strip mall owner knocked down the wall to the adjacent business and that's why the restaurant now (like a while ago) has more seating. Oh gawd...I'm getting the shakes just by typing up this review.

I tried lumpia for the first time today. I loved it. Nice and crispy with veggies. I also ordered the Pad Thai. I like how they use a tamarind sauce. I love in key west abs haven't found Pad Thai this great. The waitress brought me a water and extra napkin without my asking. The staff was very attentive and friendly. I wish I had room to try the desserts! This place is great.

  • Yujin K.

Service was fantastic friendly owner who offered 2 free thai ice tea to go after the meal. The seafood fried rice(had various kinds), green curry, crispy duck, tom yum(large size) and fried wonton all tastes great.

  • Justin B.

Kicked my meal off by ordering Thai tea, which is refilled at no cost, and it was BOMB. They brew it here, none of that canned bullshit. Put in an order of crab rangoon, but its filling was too sweet for my taste. I had the pad see ew - medium heat - and it was good, but just good. I ordered pork, but got chicken instead. My girlfriend ordered the chicken yellow curry and its broth was on point. The flower shaped white rice mound was a nice touch. The service (other than my meat mix-up) was attentive and friendly. Would I come back? Most definitely. But if you're looking for the best Thai food in Jax, keep looking.

In terms of food, I'm just picky, nothing but picky. I hate to do it, but I have to give this restaurant a 5 star! I believe the one dish that can tell if a Thai restaurant is authentic is pad Thai. And the pad thai there is just awesome. Good portion and fresh shrimp. My friend ordered pineapple fried rice, and it tasted great! Another perk is refill Thai tea! They gave me one for to go as well! Will def come back!

Very Tasty Thai truly lives up to its name! Affordable and delicious. Calm atmosphere with Thailand themed decor. Ordered the chicken lumpia as an appetizer, pineapple curry as my main entree, and my girlfriend had the panang curry. Bill came to $30 and was well worth it. Would recommend to anyone looking to try new Thai restaurant in Jacksonville.

  • Susan P.

Aptly titled restaurant. Simply tasty thai truly is delicious. We went on the recommendation of one of my husband's collegues, who gave it 2 thumbs up. We began with an order of lumpia and the "golden money bags". Both were crispy and fried to perfection with a nice light apricot sauce served on the side. The money bags especially had great flavor. We would definitely order them again. We then progressed to our main dishes and we both went for our tried and true favorites: I had pork pad thai and my husband had the half roast duck. Each were delicious, great flavor and crafted really well. We're both fans of thai and Phillipino food and have been to a good number of thai restaurants in this city. I will certainly be putting this on my list of places to return to. It was great!

  • Neil O.

Love love love this place. Thai food as good as any anywhere. The ingredients are fresh and generous. The dishes are traditional and authentic. The curries are delish. They're not afraid of chilies. The art is real nice also. As others noted , do not be afraid of the strip mall. The food and service could hold this restaurant anywhere.

Was sat at a table, waited 10 min and no one even came to take our drink orders (only 1/2 full). They sure as hell made sure to say good bye as we walked out though. And made sure to clear our table as soon as we walked out (saw as we were getting into our car) Damn shame, I was really looking forward to trying their food.

  • Amy S.

Very much enjoyed our dinner tonite. Started out with dumplings and seaweed salad, both of which got rave reviews. Excellent, but the next course, Tiger Cried, was amazing. Next came curries. A little tip, the Panang and the Choo Chee are almost identical curries, which is the only reason for the four stars. We were hoping to share and found them very similar, which the waitress confirmed. Our friend had the sampler curries and they were each "DYNOMITE!" (His words). We are stuffed and happy and our only disagreement is between four and five stars. Nice.

Married a Filipino bc I love the food so much, and I've been to the Philippines twice. This place is called tasti Thai but has many Filipino dishes most being the closet thing I've had to my wife's families food. Everything on the menu is good and made fresh. I would recommend this place to anyone.

They are in the process of expanding! Still a great little family-owned restaurant, still consistently great food, same portions, same good prices.

Heard a lot about this place and I love Thai so I stopped by there yesterday for lunch with my boyfriend. We walked in and were instantly greeted by the two servers. We were sat down at a booth and I loved the decor, really cool oriental art and center pieces. The two servers worked together really well and constantly checked up on us at our table. The food was absolutely phenomenal. My boyfriend got a curry dish, while I tried the Pad Prik King entree with shrimp. I wasn't sure which rating of spicy to try so I got "American hot" versus "Thai hot" to stay humbled because after all, I'm a spice freak...and oh man I'm glad I did because it was an endorphin rush (hot! And I can handle spicy)! And the entrees come with steamed white rice, but they also can do brown rice or fried rice for an upcharge. Prices by the way were very reasonable, we left with a box full of delicious leftovers that were devoured hours later. I'll be back within a week. :)-one happy customer.

Nancy has done such a great job with this place! We were customers when it first opened a few years back, and were pleased to see it thriving, remodeled, and expanded when we came back to Mayport. The food is delightful. The fried dumplings and spring rolls are done just right. The pork fried rice is the best I have ever had. My husband had a Drunken noodles--To. Die. For. We also love the Thai iced coffee. I would eat here every day if I could. I am so happy to see a local owned business thriving! Keep up the good work.

Panang curry... just get it. Eat first, ask questions later. Simply Tasty's panang sauce is the PERFECT blend of sweet and spicy. I'm giving them 4 stars because that's really the only standout dish they have. I tried a few others, but kept coming back to the Panang curry as nothing else compared.

    (4)
  • John S.

We started off with tofu spring rolls (not my choice, but I was eating with a vegetarian). They were fantastic. I had the shrimp pad Thai. The noodles were great, but the shrimp was just ok. Being so close to Mayport I expected large, fresh, delicious shrimp which these were not. Three Kings vegetarian was one of the best vegetarian dishes I've had since eating homemade vegetarian prepared by a professional chef. It was delicious. The mango sticky rice was tasty and one dessert is enough for two people--I like that. Everything about Simply Tasty Thai is authentic--the food, the people, and the ambiance. Give it a try. You'll be pleased.

I've been here probably ten times and of all ten times I've been here it has been absolutely superb, scratch that...maybe except once (the normal chef probably had a sick day or something). My husband and I always start off with the tom yum seafood soup in the hot pot for two. We always get it Thai spicy, they have different levels of spice from mild, American hot, to Thai hot. I'm a lover of spicy things so if your not into food that is spicy or if you can't take the burn in your stomach after eating something super hot, I don't recommend getting Thai hot. The tom yum is everything you want it to be, a little sour, a little coconut-ish, and a whole lotta spice. It has shredded cabbage with lemongrass, Thai chili peppers, with tomatoes and cilantro. I also order the tiger cried( don't you just love the name) it's sliced beef cooked in a marinade that has a flavor of lemon, lime, cilantro and some other spices served in a romaine lettuce with rice. It's very delicious and I get this American hot which for this dish it's pretty hot. This is great place to go for lunch or dinner very casual dining in a nice Thai themed ambiance.

  • Kimber G.

We love Thai food and we were a little worried that authenticity would be sacrificed because the menu includes dishes from a variety of Asian countries. However, the beef Massaman, sumptom and Cho Chee were all awesome. We will definitely return!!

  • Chris B.

Moved away and just returned to the area. This place was good 4 years ago so I was looking forward to coming back. Now it's even better! Nancy and her staff are friendly and efficient. The food is great. Very Authentic Thai. There is a speed line of hot options if you are in a rush. I would recommend taking your time to enjoy the place if you can. If you can't, the Speed lunch is great and only $6.50 for 3 items. I will be back and often.

I tried this place based on a recommendation from a friend. The service was terrible. I went there with my wife and two teenagers. We ordered our appetizers and drinks and they showed up on time. We waited almost an hour for our entrees. Also no one checked back on us for about 30 minutes. I would not recommend based on my experience.

Very small, very charming! I've been eating here regularly for quite a while now, and have never been even remotely disappointed. The food is fantastic, definitely the best pad thai in Jacksonville, in my opinion! The servers are always exceptionally sweet and attentive. They have recently opened up the second half of the restaurant; I love the decor and atmosphere! One small complaint, and something for new customers to be aware of. When you ask for water, they will automatically bring you a bottled water. If you want that free cup of tap water, make sure you specify.

One of the best Thai meals we've ever had. S.T.T. has really nice decor and ambience to it and wonderfully pleasant servers. We stared off with the Lumpia and the crab Rangoon. The Lumpia was extremely flavorful, but was disappointed with Crab Rangoon. It's basically a fried pastry ball filled with cream cheese. I could barely taste any crab meat in it. Not recommended. The Lumpia was full of flavor and we really enjoyed these, and the plum sauce it comes with. We shared the Choo Chee. ...Thai village tumeric curry, coconut milk, lemon grass and lime leaves. It was fabulous. The owner, Nancy came by to talk with us and we asked her where she got her Kaffir lime tree leaves from. She told us she grows ALL of her spices and seasonings in her own garden and brings them fresh everyday. WOW, She even gave us a sampling of her chili's, leaves etc to take home with us, nice! We had the mango mouse for dessert, and it was really tasty. Can't say enough about this place. Great job Nancy!

Really GOOD Thai food in boringVille...oops Jacksonville. Visited 2x in 2 months time while my crush was at Mayport. I could NEVER finish the meals and the food is always tasty...like the name of the restaurant says! LOL Seriously the owner is a really sweet woman who does what she can to please you. The waitress is such a doll. Cute, shy, small voice and timid...but very efficient. Otherwise, definitely a place to get good Thai in Jacksonville. If for whatever reason I am EVER in Jacksonville again, I would definitely hit Simply Tasty Thai up for a good meal.

Had an overnight stop in Jacksonville on my way to Charlotte, NC. Found this restaurant on Yelp and we tried it out! Oh my gosh.....the food was awesome and the service.....no words. They hosted me and my 6 year old like we are family! They gave her a present at the end. I would go back to eat there any time, and trust me - I am a picky restaurant person! Do not judge the restaurant based on location, it is in a stip mall, but after you enter it, you are somewhere else. Nice decor!

  • David B.

Unfortunately, I have only made it to Simply Tasty Thai twice. One of those times was for the very inexpensive lunch buffet. Like all buffets, it was mediocre (food warmed over for a lengthy time loses its freshness and flavor at any buffet). Even so, the lunch buffet is a good value. After that, I came back for dinner and got a sense of how tasty the food can be here. I had the Panang curry with chicken and found it to be quite good, though I don't usually care for curry. I hope I have an occasion to return for dinner so that I can try more of their most popular dishes. I am certain I would raise them to a 4-star restaurant for the food alone - the atmosphere is quite ordinary but is perfectly acceptable, casual family-style.

We eat a lot of Thai as a family and I travel the country (and world) for work but you'll be hard-pressed to find better Thai than this! The staff was extremely friendly and even gave a special craft toy to our 3-year old to keep him busy (huge bonus points!!!)! Any of the curries are amazing - try the Philippine specials!

2 out of 5 stars. Staff was friendly. My wife and I tried four (4) different menu items: lumpia, Thai chicken noodle soup, noodles with peanut sauce, and pancit. Not as good as expected based on previous reviews.

I grew up around Filipinos and lived in PI for a year. This is some of the best Filipino food I have had in a long time. The pancit was amazing and the lumpia to die for. Great service, great value, and great food.

Came to this place by accident and I am glad it worked out! The food is great and perfectly seasoned. Make sure you get here early because the place fills up quickly! This is my new Thai spot close to the beach.

Great food. Great portions. Can't go wrong with this place. The padthai and pad seew are great noodles and my personal favorite is the peanut sauce (rice or noodle). If you love Thai food. You should check this place out!

I've eaten here a few times and must say that the Pancit is amazing. However, my most recent visit and this review reflects the poor service. I ordered a coke, lumpia, and pancit. The glass served with the coke was chipped. Ok, no problem, I'm still going to enjoy my coke. The pancit arrived in good time but the lumpia never made it. I realized I didn't have any utensils to eat my food. The pancit was brought to the table by someone who worked in the kitchen, and he did not stop or hear me ask for chop sticks. So I waited. I made eye contact with both waitresses and raised my hand to get their attention. Neither one responded. When a waitress finally came over, she didn't notice anything wrong with the situation...a full plate of food with an increasingly annoyed customer. I asked for chop sticks and I received them. After ten minutes, I was too pissed off to finish my food. I asked for the check, which included the lumpia. It was removed after I pointed out that I never received it. The waitress didn't seem to care. Fine, here's your tip in pennies and a promise that I won't return. The finest food in the world will always taste horrible when combined with poor service.

This is on behalf of my wife and her parents. They all agree that everything is perfect and they especially liked the attention of the owner and the fact she recalled my name MONTHS later after I had been there. I'll certainly be back next time I take a break from Vermont and head to Jax Beach! Thank you for the extended hospitality! Mr. Brian!

Went here for lunch last week due to all the good reviews. Was not impressed wirh the food. Many people at the restaurant ordered the buffet, but it didnt look appetizing to us. We ordered off the menu. Ordered tofu in a panang curry sauce. No veggies other than slivers of cabbage almost non existent. The curry taste was good but the vegetables I was told would be in the dish was not there. Also, we ordered the pad thai, also no vegetables other than rhe old hard carrot garnish. Portion was smaler than expected too. The soup we ordered was loaded with large pieces of lemon grass which are not edible. Waitress was ok but seemed bored. We will stick with Sala Thai and the others around town. This place has potential, I hope they see how good it could be.

Food was excellent, served fresh and hot. My husband had the fried chicken and I had the pad Thai. We would recommend this restaurant to any one. We will come again on our next visit to Jacksonville.

My husband and I recently moved here and will miss our favorite Thai place in San Antonio very much. We were on the lookout for a new spot and tried this place. We ordered pineapple fried rice, pad see ew, and pineapple curry. We ordered all of the dishes "hot". I won't order the fried rice again, it was kind of bland. Pad see ew wasn't bad but the pineapple curry was REALLY GOOD! It was nice and spicy and the vegetables in the curry were delicious. If we do go back, I would order that and try some other dishes.

Best Pad Thai in Jacksonville Beach area, tried my fare share around and there is no comparison. Friendly staff, always happy, great service. Great environment and always busy without delays in service.

My friend and I tried the Chicken Pad Thai and Curry Chicken, both were good, we ate everything and left satisfied. The Curry Chicken dish was made a med. spicy and any spicier and we both agreed we probably wouldn't have enjoyed it, personally I'd like something a bit more on the mild side. The Pad Thai was pretty good but I wouldn't say it was the best I've ever had, the chicken in it seemed a bit dry. The two ladies working were both friendly and gave good service (I think the lady manager was interviewing someone at the time at the table across from me, which felt a little awkward). The place could probably use an update and is a bit small...perhaps 10 tables in the place so I'd recommend this as more of a take-out spot. It was a smidge weird walking by all their stocked condiments on my way to their one shared bathroom.

Everything here that I've tried is great. I've gotten authentic Thai while living in NYC and this place rivals any I've tried. Everything is cooked to order and is always hot and fresh. Amazing yellow chicken curry. Wonderful flavorful sauce, perfectly cooked chicken and veggies.

I can not believe that I have gone on this long without reviewing this amazing little place. I absolutely love Simply Tasty Thai. My husband and I were introduced to this unique little place through some friends. The food has never disappointed us. We took my parents there once when they were in town a few months ago and my dad has not stopped asking for us to take them back when they're in town next. As for the food, it is superb. We have been there many times and yet I continue to get the same entree because it is so tasty. I love the Red Curry with chicken, made Thai hot. Now don't go ordering your food Thai hot unless you LOVE spicy food, because it does have a KICK to it! The sauce is so tasty that it explodes in your mouth. The entree is served with white rice, but I tend to opt for the brown rice to pour my delicious curry over. I also recommend getting an order of the Roti (Thai version of the Indian naan)-For an additional $1.50 you obtain an additional vessel, which is delicious on its own, to scoop the curry into your mouth! The owner is so nice and often comes out to say hi and make sure that the food is up to par. On nights where I feel lazy and I don't want to cook, I have even been known to drive about a half hour to pick up this tasty meal and drive it home to enjoy while in my pajamas! I don't believe that you can go wrong eating here!

This used to be my mom's old Filipino restaurant (Pampanguena) in 1997-2002... Anyways, Thai food is starting to become a big thing in Jacksonville. Knowing the owner, I know the food is good. I don't come down here often but when I do, I know what I'm getting. Definitely come try it out, especially if you live around the beaches/Mayport Naval Base area!

I was in town for the day and was looking for a quick bite to eat. Found this place on Yelp and based on the reviews/ratings we decided to give it a try. I'm typically not a fan of Thai, but holy heck this place knocked my socks off. Went with the safe and probably popular choice, pad Thai chicken/beef and it was excellent! Also we did the sampler for apps and it was really good too. I'd recommend this place if your a novice with Thai you'll be pleasantly surprised.

The food is very tasty and the portions are quite large. We had a sample of lots of different items and I had no complaints about anything. I ordered the duck and half-expecteded to be overly greasy. I was happy to be wrong. For a medium-small size the place is nicely decorated. The employees are very nice. I definitely plan on going back soon.

Met Nancy back in 2009/2010 time frame while working at Naval Station Mayport. She actually catered my retirement ceremony from the Navy and another event. Many of the individuals in attendance complimented us on the food and could not believe how reasonable she was with her pricing! She is a very nice person and the food is spot on.

Loved the food. Was asked what heat I wanted from 1-5. I chose 4. Luckily they had several options on table to add heat to entree. 2 wet and 1 dry spice. Server was pleasant and attentive. Mango 3x was good but over priced and only 2x (sliced and in ice cream). Dining room is too dark.

I've been coming to this place ever since it opened up. Love the atmosphere the owner and her staff are very friendly the food is great very affordable. It is a mix of Filipino and authentic Thai cuisines. I'm going to miss this place when I move back to NY.

Simply Tasty Thai has become one of my favorite restaurants. I was never a big fan of Thai food, but when I tasted some of many dishes from this restaurant, I became a quick fan. They have just expanded and now the atmosphere endorses the great Thai cuisine. No matter what your favorite food may be, give Nancy and her staff the opportunity to make Thai your new favorite. The Filipino menu selections are prepared just as well as the Thai.

Best Thai food I've had outside of Thailand! My mouth is watering just thinking about their Tom Yum soup and mango with sticky rice. The owners are super nice and friendly and you can choose your spice level. We will be back again and often!!!

Excellent food. My wife got the peanut shrimp and I got the seafood yellow curry. We also got the calamari. EVERYTHING was so tasty it was gone in minutes. Caution, medium is probably too spicy for some :) Is our go-to Thai place in Jax. Nancy (the owner,) is awesome!!

I have been frequenting this restaurant a few times a month for the past year or so. I have always gotten great food, great service, for a fair price. This is the best Thai restaurant in Jax. Staff is friendly and eager to help you. They make me feel like I'm an old friend. The food is wonderful, fresh and authentic. Be careful ordering "Thai HOT" unless u like extreme heat. I drive 20 miles to eat at S.T.T. . hell, I would drive 40 miles to eat there. The food and service is that good. Do yourself a favor and try Simply Tasty Thai just 1 time and you will go back for a second, and third.......

Love you, Nancy and staff. Best Thai food ever, and best kept secret in Jax. Authentic and superb! When we travel, we always seek out Thai restaurants, nearly equalled only by a great Thai place in Boulder, CO... Khow Thai... Never ever have we had a bad meal and we are working our way through the menu. Homemade secret recipes for the variety of curry dishes. Love love love! But shhh... Don't tell anyone because we want it all to ourselves!

Small place. Doing renovation to expand now (Oct 2012). As a vegan, I would not suggest this place. Probably good for meat eaters. I asked for the most popular veg dish and my food was bland. I could only eat half. I have had much, much better Thai. But the Blue Angels kept flying overhead while I was there...so that part was cool!

Have done a take out from here once. Yellow chicken curry and chicken fried rice. The curry was good, but not the best. The fried rice was a bit bland. Great prices. I would eat here again if I was in the neighborhood. But since it is in a pretty scarey neighborhood, I won't be hanging around.

Simply Tasyt Thai is awesome! There food is unique and very flavorful. I think that it's a bit more authentic Thai cuisine and menu. Everything there is delicious...I even love their soups. also, they serve my favorite brand of green and jasmine tea.

I saw the great reviews for this place and decided to try it out. The place is small but very well decorated and clean. I came here for lunch and ordered basil fried rice with tofu and pad thai with chicken. Delicious, although I've had better pad thai in California. Nevertheless, I got a lot of food for $14. I would definitely go back and recommend it to others.

Great Thai food. I had the pork Pad Thai and the seafood Panang. Both had good depth of flavor. The Panang had just the right amount of coconut milk and the seafood was not over cooked. For a app we had the Fried money bags "pork filled wontons" were the high light. Both of the owners were very attentive and helpful. All in all one of the bettar Thai food places at the beach.

Pretty tasty Thai. My wife and I hit up Simply Tasty Thai today for an early dinner. It's a small joint in one of Jax's ubiquitous strip malls on the way up to Mayport. Yep, a place like this must be good. Service was slow to start, but was nicely paced after our appetizer arrived. We started with the sampler. Pretty good, but nothing special. They need to make their spring rolls a little fatter and take them out of the fryer a little sooner and they'll be on point. My wife ordered the Chicken Yellow Curry and I had the Beef Massaman Curry. Both curries feature large, perfectly cooked potatoes. Excellent flavor and just spicy enough to make your nose water a bit as you work your way through it. Her chicken was chicken-y and my beef was savory. Overall, a not-to-shabby place to catch a decent curry. We'll have to make another trip "just to be sure", but if you're in the neighborhood you really can't go wrong with Simply Tasty Thai and their, well, tasty curries.

Fast and easy to order. Wish they took Amex, but many folks these days don't for some reason. They made a change for us and made their Massaman curry beef into a chicken dish which was awesome, but what I would normally order at any other thai place. Also ordered the teriyaki chicken which was horrible. Very fatty and the skin of the chicken was still on most pieces, we threw it out after a few bites. We did order the sampler appetizer platter which was good for what it was. Be careful on ordering out because the online menus I found were not clear on lunch versus dinner prices and we paid almost 10 bux more than we thought we were going to because they did not give the total over the phone before I left to pickup the food.

I recently discovered this place last week and ate here for lunch. First of all the the dining room is very small but decorated adequately and the place has a comfortable atmosphere. We both ordered pad Thai (shrimp and chicken) it was amazing, honest some of the best I have ever had. The flavors were just right. They offer four levels of spiciness ; Mild Medium , Hot, and "Thai Hot". We ordered our food "Medium" which we thought was just right for our tastes. Not only do they offer Thai food, but also many Filipino dishes available from the hot bar, although we did not try any of those... but they looked delicious. Also, I would recommend lunch for a very large portion at the very affordable price of. $6.99.

This place is so good. And the prices are great. I taste like it was made from scratch rather than some manufactured Asian food like some places. I will be going back tomorrow. We went there on a whim and we really enjoyed it. Its a little small but the food more than makes up for the space constraints. We ordered the Spicy Rice Noodles with Chicken. The portions are great as well. I couldn't finish mine and I'm pregnant!!!

Oh, my prayers have been answered. Delicious, reasonably priced Thai food at the beach... hallelujiah! Ate here just before going on a long trip and I am counting the days til I can get back. This is a very casual place, which is fine because the focus is clearly on the food. Went with a group of 5, which may have been the largest table they saw all day - there was just one server and only one person in the kitchen. As a result, the service was a little inconsistent but our appetizers came out quickly and they kept our glasses of water fresh so not really a big deal. I love spicy food so I ordered Tom Yum soup "hot" and Drunken Noodles "American hot" - a member of our group who had been there before told us about this; it's not on the menu but apparently this fills the gap between "hot" and "Thai Hot". First, the portions are very generous. I ordered too much food for one sitting, which was fine because I enjoyed my leftovers for the rest of the weekend. The Drunken Noodles were good and the heat definitely got my attention but the show stopper for me was the Tom Yum soup. The heat was amazing - I had sweat beads forming on my brow but I couldn't stop eating it because the flavors were so killer. The broth was delicious and the fresh lemon grass and lime leaves cut through the heat with bright citrusy flavors. This is possibly the best Tom Yum soup I have ever had. I am selfishly asking anyone who reads this to please go try this place because I am already fantasizing about sitting in this restaurant on a cold winter evening with a big bowl of Tom Yum soup and I would very much like them to still be open 6 months from now. As we finished our dinner the chef (owner?) came out to talk to our table, gave us some Thai cooking tips and thanked us for coming. I love it when you go somewhere and they actually seem to care about whether or not you will come back. Thai Room, Buddha Belly, and all the other average and over priced Thai restaurants in Jax need to drop in and see how it's done.

for starters I have to state that I haven't tried many Thai cuisines. now to more important matters; from the chicken pad thai to the thai omelet it's all fresh and filling. My GF and I came here with some friends and we were all surprised as to how great the food tasted. the waitress was very nice and patience. the place is small and can get a bit crowded, but all worth it for the portions that are served . the prices are reasonable which means more than likely we will be coming back for more.

Just had a party for 15 people and we did take out in trays and pots I brought in. My guests were really happy! There are now at least 15 more people who are fans of this restaurant! While I was picking it up, an avid traveler described the food and said it is exactly thai- I have been there 6 times. The flavors are notes jumping off the pages. Don't just go safe with pad thai, get soups and curry. I started this review a couple weeks ago and didn't finish it - as an update - all my friends from the party have been talking about the restaurant... the only obstacle is the 'long drive' from Jax Beach to Mayport - we are so lazy!

I would give this 5 stars but for the service. Food is really really good. Three Kings Meditating is tops of the list. Very friendly atmosphere. Only fault is slow service. They were understaffed last visit so it was extra slow. Some customers left before being given water. Others, like us had to work hard to get attention from overworked single server. Even when they are not understaffed the service is slower than it should be. Food continues to trump the service though so we return again and again. Best Thai in Jacksonville area.

Just came back from a Euro deployment only to head out to a South American one with zero notice, yay. At least there's a decent Thai place right out side of the base here in Mayport. The service was friendly and they have excellent peanut sauce to go with the tofu spring rolls. I had the drunken noodles which was okay. It's no Tida Thai in Virginia Beach, but it hit the spot. The prices are great so I'm coming back for some curry in a few months.

Eating here at Simply Tasty Thai, is probable some the best we've ever had. We could taste the love in the sauce, a playground for our senses....no sugars or additives just essences of real home-style Thai cooking, food how we like it...made from scratch!
