The food was great; very fresh and arranged beautifully. We went for lunch on a Monday, and there were only a few people besides us. The wait staff were very friendly and helpful in explaining menu options. Decor is very cool; rough stone walls with fiber optic lights, so I'm guessing it's busier for dinner. I definitely recommend this restaurant for sushi and will be going again. It's not in my neighborhood, but worth the drive.

One of my favorite sushi places. Amazing sushi & awesome staff. We ordered sushi online to-go and arrived early. They were busy but We didn't mind the wait at all and we let the server it wasn't a big deal because we arrived early. The cashier gave us a free roll and free soup/salad for the wait. Excellent customer service!!

Sashimi is very fresh. I had the volcano roll and it was excellent. And the service and ambiance really adds to the experience. Definitely recommend for a great dinner. We will return to try the different rolls. Also a good sign that we noticed a ton of returning guests at the tables next to us.

Great sushi. Very fresh and tasty. Can't beat the lunch menu specials. Lots of sushi for a great price.

A hidden jewel in an average strip mall. Inside the decor is spectacular. But the food is even better. The bento box is a deal and oh so tasty! Their sushi and sashimi is top notch. We've never been disappointed!!
(5)Monique H.
My husband and I love to frequent this place a couple of times a month. The fish is a thicker, richer cut and not grimy or chewy (which is not good) like other places. The service of two waiters we get are excellent - Reza (sp?) and James. Terry, the sushi chef (and I think he's owner as well) takes awesome direction and was able to make a requested roll not other restaurants prepare as well when requested. He also takes great care of us when we are there. The tempura batter for that special roll was perfect. Hands down our favorite sushi spot in Jax!
(5)Susan A.
Excellent sushi! Hawaiian poke bowl was delicious as well. Great service and fun atmosphere. I would have never gone in if it had not been for the great Yelp reviews. I have been about four times now and never been disappointed.
(5)Meghan N.
Such an awesome dining experience. The food was very very good and was pleasing to the eye, the service was perfect and never went without anything. The ambiance was great. We had an all-in-all great experience. Definitely recommend

Oh my gosh! It's so awesome every time I'm over, either to sit and eat or to go. There's no other place like here. No one can top their quality and price and variety for sushi/sashimi. They are always so generous. The sake! Mmmmmm! If you are sake beginner this "Kurosawa nigori sake" is very good place to start. It pleasantly light and a bit sweet with citrus like end. It's strange for nigori (unfiltered). Ones I'm used to is rough and harder to drink if you are new to sake. But this one is very good. We are so satisfied and full, mentally and physically :D. Thank you!!!

It was quiet a mix feeling for me and my lad as first , the atmosphere was little dim and private . A mix with bar and liquor store . It seems little smaller than we were expected .Move down to the menu , it wasn't anything to extraordinary , however after received our dishes , which included : love boat for 2 , mega lobsters roll , krab cream cheese roll . The dishes came with a surprise element .Anything was well coordinated and pleasure to an eyes . The taste was phenomenal in the first bite , mega lobsters roll really stood out , I still can feel it crunchiness .Lovely staff and services . I will definitely recommend this place to all sushi lovers out there , and future visit

This sushi joint is out of this world! Tucked away you would barely notice it if you didn't look closely! The decor is very appealing to the eye as is the food! Not only is it delicious but also beautifully presented. The wait staff is friendly and very attentive. Try the avocado salad- it's delicious! Also- be daring and try some unique sushi, you won't be disappointed!
(5)Andrew R.
I judge a server by my drink being full. I never saw it get below 1/2. Great sushi. Do it
(4)Dorothy C.
Great food & service!!! Will come back for more with my family!! Sushi was fresh and the hibachi was pretty big portion. Nice drinking atmosphere at night as well. (Good for date nights)

Interior design is very similar to Oishii on Southside Blvd near Tinseltown, but I think I like the design here better because it's more spacious and there are tons of booths. Each booth can fit about six adults comfortably. There were not many customers on a Wednesday lunch, so there was only one server and one sushi chef in the front. Service was fine, but it took about 20-25 minutes for food to get to our table after placing the order even though there were only two other tables. We ordered Bubba Roll, Catepillar Roll, and a Salmon Box from the lunch menu. The presentation of the sushi and my lunch Salmon Box were both beautiful and tasted delicious. Caterpillar Roll - 5 out of 5 stars I really love this roll and would probably eat this for breakfast, lunch, and dinner if I could. It has spicy salmon (raw), cucumber, and tempura crunch on the inside. It is topped with avocado, honey wasabi sauce, and momiji sauce. However, I didn't get it with cucumber. Both the avocado and salmon tasted really good and fresh, and all the ingredients went very well together. This is one of the best Caterpillar Rolls I've had in Jax (I'm probably a little biased since I love raw salmon). My wife didn't like it as much because there is a noticeably strong wasabi taste due to the honey wasabi sauce. So if you don't like wasabi, be sure to notify your server before hand. Bubba Roll - 4 out of 5 stars It's a fancy, upgraded shrimp tempura roll! Shrimp tempura and cream cheese inside, wrapped in rice paper; steamed shrimp, avocado, tempura crunchy, and spicy mayo + eel sauce on top. I don't really like rolls with lots of cream cheese, but my wife enjoyed it. The only complaint she had was that the tempura crunchy was a bit old. Salmon Box from Lunch Menu - 5 out of 5 stars You're going to love this if you like Salmon Sashimi. This meal came with a clear soup and ginger salad, and they were average. The Salmon Box actually came on a plate, and it had Mango, Spicy Salmon with tempura crunchy + three slices of avocado on top, Salmon Kobachi, and steamed rice. The salmon were raw and fresh just to my liking. The Kobachi was covered in a sweet sauce. Our only complaint was that there was too much sauce (both on spicy salmon and the kobachi), and it interfered with the taste of delicious raw salmon. And once again, the tempura crunch on the spicy salmon was old. TL;DR - Beautiful interior design with lots of booths, great sushi, fresh salmon, but long wait for the food

Really neat and unique atmosphere. Large eclectic menu ("Mexican sushi"? Yes please!) with really good food. Definitely get the seaweed salad and the island fire rolls. The wife and I have a new favorite place close to home for a good, relatively inexpensive lunch. And we'll likely come back for a family dinner.
(4)Meanole M.
This place is really good. Right down the street from our home. Had a ton of sushi and the steak hibachi. The hibachi was outstanding and the sushi was pretty good. We actually got takeout and the service was amazing. Food was ready in 15 minutes and staff was very friendly. Definitely will be going here again and will eat in next time.
(4)Emily M.
I have come here a couple times on my lunch break and with family/friends for dinner. The atmosphere is great! We love the decor of the restaurant and the trendy-ness of the food presentation. My rainforest roll lit up! The sushi itself is good and reasonably priced. There is something for everyone on the menu. I always have a good experience when I come here, definitely recommend!
(5)Mitzi B.
Always a treat to come here - staff is wonderful and the sashimi and sushi offerings are spot-on and generous. Nicely seasoned sushi rice and the chef's choice always delectable in the party boats which my family/ friends indulge in routinely. Whether you like cooked or raw- Sashimi Fusion has got you covered with sushi/sashimi/hibachi/tempura/teriyaki/ etc. Desserts are a pleasant surprise and eating here is overall an excellent experience.
(5)John B.
This has become my wife and my favorite Sushi restaurant. The sushi is fresh, very delicious, and the plating presentations are excellent. We seem to always get the same server, who is very friendly and attentive. The decor seems a little club like, but at least it is different than some of the plain walls in a lot of Sushi restaurants, and the place is always very clean. The very first time we went, my wife wanted to go again the very next night, but I made her wait at least a week. We have always sat at the tables, but plan to sit at the sushi bar next time for a different experience. They also always seem to have good drink specials and a good selection of Asian beers and mix drinks. Only thing we wished they did different is provided the miso soup when you order sushi rolls. They only seem to provide it, if you order Hibachi. Probably the only thing that kept me from giving the place 5 stars.
(4)T W.
I have been so surprised by this place. We live in the area and usually drove to the beach for sushi. This is the best if not top 2 sushi establishments in Jacksonville. The fish is fresh. (Say that 5 times fast). The decor is nice. The prices are reasonable. If you live in the area or visiting definitely stop in.
(5)Robyn R.
This was our first visit and we will return! We loved the atmosphere, presentation and fresh taste. The Floridian roll was my favorite, but the others were all amazing. Highly recommend!
(5)Ryan W.
Excellent sushi, a very nice atmosphere, and a great full bar. Very polite staff too. The hibachi is very good too. Also a large wine selection. I now eat here 2-3 times per week. The Kusko roll isn't on the menu, but it is excellent.
(5)Greg R.
This place is awesome. Great food, great prices, great location. What more could you ask for? Also, look for their coupons in the Money Pages magazine.
(5)Chris L.
Sushi is good, firm and fresh, service a bit slow but not bad, and being a new place with new staff I'll cut them some slack. i used to eat regularly at Yashi Sushi and Crazy Sushi, this place is on par with either of them.
(4)Mike H.
Went and checked them out with my fiancee. She had the sashimi and sushi combo and I had the red snapper hibachi. Both dishes were delicious and the fish was fresh. Her dish was beautiful to look at as well. Great place definitely recommend
(5)Kevin R.
We tried this place out a few nights ago. We were more than pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere and the service. The food was good bit the kitchen was slow. I'm sure being a new place they have some kinks to iron out but we are definitely recommending that our friends check it out!!! We will be returning!!!
(4)M C.
Great sushi!! Very clean, modern, fresh and frankly our new favorite sushi place. Highly recommend the Rock Manhattan roll... deliciousness. The ambiance reminds me of places in Orlando etc. A surprising discovery.
(5)Satoko D.
My husband and I eat here just about once a week. We have seen improvement in the speed of service over time. Food is very good. Terry, the owner, will make sure your visit will be a pleasant and satisfying one. We used their sashimi & tempura as part of our New Year's Eve dinner, and they were a hit!! My son was quite impressed that he said he will be checking out this place very soon. For me, a native Japanese, Sashimi Fusion is a good place to eat sashimi & sushi. Don't go there if you want teppan-type dinner. It is not a steak house, and no flame blowing show is on the menu.
(4)John P.
My review is based on two visits and one take-out. Nice decor and atmosphere. Air conditioning is non-existent. Seriously, it's August in Florida......Both visits we had to endure long waits for our food. Wait staff on first visit and take-out had a hard time with getting order right. Second visit, the waitress was both knowledgeable and professional. Both times food came out cold. Also, beer needs to be served colder. I rate the food three stars but rated the restaurant overall two stars for slow service and uncomfortable temperature.
(2)DeCastro E.
Very nice place, the decor is different but cool, and the food is also good sushi is good. Its comparable to Fugi Sushi. It is awesome having a sushi place so close to cobblestone.
(4)Bill K.
Had a craving for sushi at lunch today and remembered reading several favorable reviews of Sashimi Fusion here on YELP. Walking in the door my first thought was that it was very dark inside, but then I realized that I had just come in from a very bright sunlit Florida day outside and after being there for a couple of minutes my eyes became accustomed to the ambient light inside of the restaurant. The décor is really cool inside, very modernistic and upscale. Not you're typical strip mall fast-food Japanese/Chinese place at all. I just ordered some sushi 4 pieces and 2 rolls, and all the sushi was very fresh and well made. The Dynamite roll I ordered was the best Dynamite roll I have ever had, anywhere. I will definitely be going back with my wife soon to try out the Hibachi selections. And in about 2 weeks they will have a full liquor bar up and running, for those that like a stronger libation with their meal.
(4)K N.
Great atmosphere with plenty of variety on the menu. The sushi was excellent. Management was very on point. So excited to have this new restaurant in the area.

The hubby and I have been to Sashimi Fusion several times since they've opened and I feel like they've finally hit their stride and warrant review. We had James wait on us at our most recent visit and appreciated prompt and genial service. He apologized for the brief waits we experienced during our stay due to it being a busy night at the restaurant. We didn't notice or mind as we were enjoying our conversation but appreciated that he noticed enough to mention it. All of his recommendations were delicious as we combed through their rather large menu. They have everything from sushi and katsu, to udon and soba, to habachi and bento dinners! I've now tried a sampling from each of these categories over my visits and haven't been disappointed. I decided on the Yaki Udon with Seafood Noodle Soup Bowl and it was great. James suggested the seafood over the shrimp only and I thought the broth had tremendous flavor. The noodles were cooked to slightly chewy perfection (as you want with udon) and he even offered to sub the miso soup (which would normally come with the meal) for a double ginger salad. Great! My only comment for the seafood was the krab stick (which I knew it would come with) was still in it's complete "stick" form. I would like to see it cut down even a bit, if for not ease of eating (I'm not afraid to slurp!) then for presentation. And there was a soft boiled egg on top, too. My favorite! Hubby had the Chicken Katsu Don which I've ordered twice on previous occasions. This is a fried chicken breast (katsu style) over rice with vegetables and egg served with yummy broth poured all over so it has quite a lot of liquid in the bottom of the bowl. I personally love this dish. The broth is deliciously savory and the chicken portion has always been large. I bring up the liquid portion of the dish as it's not mentioned on the menu and other yelpers may not be familiar with the preparation. If you've never tried it, take a chance! It's so yummy! Finally, we met Chef Terry later in the evening. After the crazy rush earlier, he came out to meet and greet a few of the tables and was genuinely interested in our feedback for our meals. For example, he noticed I had picked off some of my seaweed garnish (only so I could get to the egg underneath more easily!) and made sure I knew it was no problem to modify my order in the future. He was quite lovely to speak with and obviously cares a lot about his restaurant. Finally, my soup was such a large portion that James boxed up my leftovers to go. For a million server points he carefully separated the noodles and seafood from the broth for me in separate containers and set them in a small box so they wouldn't tip over in the bag. You go, Glenn Coco! So glad to have these folks in the neighborhood (I could walk there!) and hope they continue to thrive at the Publix in the shopping center continues to undergo renovation. Looking forward to many happy returns!

This is the best sushi restaurant I have ever been to in Jacksonville. Very friendly environment, modern design and delicious and beautifully arranged and prepared food. 4 Stars only for a bit smaller sushi portions and sizes.
(4)Robert B.
Excellent service, very yummy sushi made fresh to order. I have to come here at least once a week.

I went here for lunch with my boss who is a regular here. I read several Yelp reviews that backed up his claims of the amazing sushi! As everyone else has said, you really wouldn't think that this place exists here due to all of the construction going on. Unfortunately they aren't able to have a real sign outside, I'll include a storefront photo for reference. The inside looked very different for what you would expect - the tables and booths were very nice and there were many different colored lights all throughout the restaurant. It had a clubby feel to it at first. The Rock Shrimp appetizer was amazing! The shrimp were very flavorful and was complimented with the right amount of sweet chili sauce. I ordered the Sushi Regular entree with Clear Soup instead of Miso. The soup was really good; it was a little darker and the mushrooms were cooked more than most other places. The entree had several types of fish and was really fresh! The dish is a chef's choice with your choice of a California or Tuna roll, I went with Tuna. This was more than enough food for a lunch portion but it was so worth it! Presentation plays a big role here, you really feel like you're eating art. My boss previously had a dragon roll that came out looking like a dragon! The "Terry Special" that he had today included sea urchins, it didn't sound appealing to me but he said it was delicious!
(5)Miss B.
UPDATE... Since I ate sushi at this restaurant few times, I got FOOD POISON... Nice and clean. Sushi taste is just ok. I love clear soup. More flavor than other asian restaurant.

Came in tonight for a take out order. I had been waiting at least 40 mins. I ended up leaving without it bc actually my order had been sitting there for a while and I wasn't told or heard anyone ask.. it was sushi so I was not happy about taking it knowing it was sitting out waiting. I love this place so it's really hard for me to complain but I wasn't the only one.... More than one person sitting next to me had been waiting for over an hour for their take out order. Maybe they didn't anticipate the dinner rush tonight? I don't know but this was my first bad experience and I have dined here several times and everything is always delicious. They need more help and more organization on the weekends! Very very disappointed.
(1)Anna H.
So have not been here since my last review but not much has changed. Staff could use a little refresher in what is or is not available. Slow Tuesday night and why was that screaming child not at home in bed at 08:30. But I digress. The Sushi is still good, nice selection overall. Miso Soup nice, but would have benifited from some mushroom slices or green onion tops. Calamari pre breaded and greasy. We asked for a bottle of cold non filtered Saki, but had to wait for it to chill. We ordered 4 different rolls and they were great. Overall well worth the price 80 + with tip. The win for me close to home, open for lunch and dinner.
(3)Michael Y.
The owner is an awesome guy. Extremely friendly and welcoming. It's by far the nicest Japanese place I have ever been too. I'm so glad it's right next to my house. The sushi chef is an artist when it comes to the presentation of the food.
(5)Ron E.
3.5 stars Decided to try this spot based on other reviews. When I walked in I thought I had walked in to a bar/club from looking at the neon lights and modern decor. Took a seat at the sushi bar and opened up the extensive menu. What to order in a new to me sushi restaurant? Let's do a sampler of sashimi! I was kind of blown away by the presentation of the food. They use large plates and decorate them with props to give you that visual experience. It looks so good that you just gotta look at it for a minute before even touching it. Does anybody else do that? Maybe just me. Well everything tasted as good as it looked. I tried to eat everything but was too stuffed. The appetizers didn't help the cause since they were delicious too (had the vegetable tempura and some crab creation that they just threw in). The restaurant was busy and the owner himself decided that he would wait on us to help free up a server. He was on top of everything. The place was running like a well oiled machine. Great experience and the sexiest sushi presentation I have seen in Jacksonville. 5 stars! Since that experience was so good lets go again! Once again the sushi comes out looking nice and tasty of course. Some of the fam orders some hibachi items. Keep in mind that we have been ordering hibachi style food for years and have been to many different establishments. They are eating and don't seem to pleased with the taste of the food. I assumed that it would be good since the sushi is excellent. Well......I try some chicken and.....it isn't good.....at all. The chicken was not even fresh. You can tell when meats are not their freshest and that distinct undesirable taste was there. Gross. OK we have to get this nasty taste out of our mouths. Lets do some fried ice cream for dessert. That should do it. Wrong. Imagine ice cream that is fried in oil that was used previously to fry another food item that wasn't ice cream? You are tasting it now aren't you. Wish I didn't taste it. There are many other better places to get hibachi style items and I wouldn't come for dessert. 2 stars...maybe. I do recommend this place for sushi and I will be back for some more!
(3)MJ D.
Good sushi with a great atmosphere. I love that it is so close and in the neighborhood. Great for date night with the wife.
(5)Casidhe S.
Came to Jacksonville on vacation, and I wanted to get some sushi. This place was close to where I was staying and had high reviews so I figured I would give it a try. The environment was very inviting and the staff was really informative. I asked for their most popular rolls, and they gave me the red dragon which was a spicy roll, and a new roll that they have that had salmon and pineapple and mango so it was a little sweeter. Since I had sweet and spicy I wanted to try something a little more savory so they recommended the eel daddy. I got that and all three were everything I hoped for and more. I recommend this place for anyone who is wanting a good roll.
(5)Lisa C.
A very modern new sushi place gracing the cobblestone area. We decided to stop here for lunch this afternoon after the craving for sushi won the lunch time battle. I have to say I was very excited to have a sushi place literally less than a mile from home. When you walk in the decor is extremely modern and dark. It is illuminated by upscale lighting, and bright glowing neon tube lighting around the entire interior. From the decor I would certainly rate it 4 stars. Being just a bit too dark for lunch and not being able to see the menu very well. The servers were very nice and attentive. In contrast to previous reviews, the young woman who was serving us really did seem to have an excellent grasp on the menu. The food was a little slow but none the less tasted very flavorful. Their lunch special is so cheap! Two rolls, miso or clear soup, and a salad for 7.95 cannot beat that! This place has a lot of potential and when I'm too lazy to drive out to Crazy Sushi on south side I will certainly be back.
(4)Darren W.
This place is a hidden jewel. Decor is awesome, presentation was to the "T". And the follows through
(5)Debby M.
Really enjoyed the decor and the food was really good. ALOT of sushi choices and the dinner plates were just as plentiful. New servers so they were green but it all came together nicely.Parking lot is a little crazy as the plaza is under renovation.
(4)Randy C.
Very good selections, their fried calamari is really good. So is there teriyaki steak was delicious
(5)Kate O.
You would never know this place is so good when you look at it from outside. The shopping center is undergoing some pretty hefty renovations but that should not be a deterrent. The interior is done very well- you can tell they put some money into it. The food is the main event though. Not only is it fresh and delicious, every time it is a spectacle to see as the presentation is phenomenal. I have been here about five times now as I live around the corner and I have recommended it to multiple people who all agree that this sushi is the best in Jax...definitely a hidden gem. While the service can be a little slow (I think they are a bit understaffed) and I have returned a few dirty plates, I will continue to come back. I work out of town for long periods of time and whenever I come home, this is the first place I go to for dinner. You will not be disappointed.
(4)Tina B.
Wow! As a self proclaimed sushi snob, I was really impressed with this place. We were in town for a visit but if I lived here, I would come back often! Really good service, awesome sushi, good portions of fish and decent prices. Smaller rolls are around $5. And holy cow, the presentation was amazing! Each plate was declared, one with a rose, one with fire and another with flashing lights and a backdrop. Try the Fire Roll for sure!
(5)Jeff P.
This place is arguably one of the best sushi places in Jacksonville. If you like sushi this is a must stop. They also have a great lunch special (Monday through Saturday). Eat here you won't be upset that you did.
